The cost of maintaining the system is approximately US$750 million per year,[2] including the replacement of aging satellites, and research and development. Despite these costs, GPS is free for civilian use as a public good.
GPS has become a widely used aid to navigation worldwide, and a useful tool for map-making, land surveying, commerce, and scientific uses. GPS also provides a precise time reference used in many applications including scientific study of earthquakes, and synchronization of telecommunications networks."

As you can see, GPS is really a powerful tool for human to do navigation purpose.

Let say you may get lost in a jungle and in a such a bad luck, you also lost your compass...what should you do? Scream? Of course not! lol
In that kind of situation, a GPS device will be very useful for us to get out of the jungle....as long as we are in the earth, we are able to get statellite signal from everywhere in the world.

My personal favourite of GPS device will be Garmin. Their products are user friendly and handy. You can put the Garmin GPS into your pocket very easily and travel around the world.

What to know more about Garmin GPS products?
