Fun in the sun.....

Spring here is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL......EVERYTHING is in full bloom the colors are spectacular. All sorts of shades of pink there is one house here downtown Summerville that is completely surrounded surrounded by pink all the way around the house then a pink flowering fence and a long walkway also lined with these pink bushes....I must get some :) Last night when I went on my run I looked up at the trees and it's amazing....remember those curly vines I brought home a while ago....well they have these long beautiful flowers that are just covering the trees. I now love it down here even more :)

A funny thing though Neal has always had allergies since moving here he has NONE and I have them pretty bad. It's really strange though because the pollen down here is terrible so it's pretty amazing that he is not bothered by it.

The monster child....this kid just screams all the time. It's gotta get better soon but I have been saying that since day one. He truly exhausts me just with his crying :( He has learned to clap and is saying quite a few things. He really enjoyed the pool for a while and splashing in the water but then got cold looked at me threw his hands in the air and said " aaaaa daaaa" all done :) he was ready for his nap.

It's really more like summer here but there is a lot of rain like spring time up north :) we have enjoyed lots of sunshine too though :)

Playing in the pool....we caught some kind of bug so not feeling so well. Ethan broke the fever and just has the congestion, cough now Conner had his fever last night now just sore throat congestion this morning. I'm not sure if I have the same bug or if it's just allergies.

Loving the water....seems like he is doing a little better these days. For about 2 months now he has been super stubborn and naughty unlike him he has always been really easy going.

I have really been holding this one tight lately we register him for school next week :( I will have a baby in school soon. Excited for him though now that he is excited too.

Trip our next door neighbor came over to play in the water a bit too. I was in the sun for 4 HOURS and put on some sun tan oil. I don;t even have a tan line.....is that strange or what. I just do not tan at all anymore. Ohh well.

Well the monster child is crying again so need to re attach him to my hip and walk around :(

It looks a little out of place right now all on it's own but there is a stone patio in plan it will go all the way around the pit. AT this point it's not even level but we just wanted to put it up to give us an idea of where it's going to go.

tada.....did you know that until the 27th or 28th of this month you can stand a broom straight up? Something to do with the way earth is rotating right now. It's quite impressive and really funny if you are trying to trick someone. Our neighbors were over last week and Mr. Chris left for a minute while he was gone Neal put the broom right in front of the front door. Mr Chris came back and while he is talking he is waving his hands around the broom giving it strange looks finally mid sentence he is like alright what's going on here :) haha it actually stayed up all night.....weird!

I hope you all are having a good weekend. I've really enjoyed being unplugged so sorry for the lack of posts.

A plan coming to life :)

I'm ready to be done with this one but still needs a little work. I drilled the holes for the screws too big for the middle section so I need to get a thicker screw to connect it in the middle and make it more stable :/ and also paint the bottom spindle thing the antique white. Pretty neat I got the idea from Crate and Barrel but theirs was metal and almost $100 mine only cost $15 in wood and it matches my signs and my table box I made ;) so a success indeed!!! I'll share a picture of the finished product probably after the weekend.

Neal was off for FOUR days with only a few phone calls and interruptions from work. It was SO NICE!!! He has been working a lot lately so to have him home was just amazing. I literally unplugged from the computer only checking e-mail at night and even had my phone off most the time. It's nice to do that once in a while.

We also had visitors form up North (hehe yes we are Southerners now....I even caught myself saying NO SIR to Christopher the other day we LOVE it here) Gwandma Jenny and Aunt Judy came to spend a few days with us. I did not get too many pictures but we just had a nice relaxing time. Once again the weather did not cooperate but they had a little taste of the mid 70's that we enjoy here most of the time. We have been needing the rain though. Neal ad I even got to spend Saturday MOST OF the day alone. We packed a picnic and ate it on the pier on one of the swings down town Charleston then we got to walk around and check out all the shops, art galleries and antique shops downtown which was really the first time we got to do that. It's pretty tight down there and doing all that with 3 kids is just not enjoyable. We then went out to eat and went to a few furniture stores. It was just fun and relaxing.

Thanks guys for giving Neal and I a little breather it was MUCH needed time alone away from the kidos.

Wow I'm really ashamed of myself I really did not get many pictures. We had a really nice time and can't wait for them to come visit us again.

I forgot it was Monday and I have supper all ready but no hubby!!! He usually works even later than usual on Mondays :/ SO we are waiting trying to hold off as long as we can. I did feed baby because he goes to bed at 6:00. I just wanted to share this with you guys!

I've been working on this one for weeks. It's actually old pallets that we got for free and Neal cut down for me. It goes well with the whole rustic feel that I'm going with for the kitchen. I distressed them and stained them then wrote out the words. I'm making another one for the other side but this is kinda time consuming so it will be a while before it's gone and we have a lot going on this next month!

also drew up a little plan for another project! Can you guys tell I like to be busy!!!

Big stuff sitting on the trike....he was SO happy just sat there and watched all the big kids play. I think we had like 15 boys in our garage :) there are only 2 girls on our street the rest are ALLLLLL boys.

I've come to the conclusion that his top teeth are never going to poke through. All smiles.....cutie he has had 2 good days in a row and it has been very refreshing after weeks of crabyness.

I finished the box......makes our table look ppurty ;)

This kid LOVES to eat.....he eats ALL THE TIME. He had 5 pancakes for breakfast yesterday :)

Had a little fun with my paintbrushes and canvas yesterday......gloomy rainy days are perfect for that.

I was trying to get the pout he was giving me when I was telling him not to touch the frames that were on the ground waiting to be hung.

I finally found some floating shelves for the bathroom. Got them at the project for humanity place for $3 painted them and they are just perfect. The little sign is what I worked on yesterday........ wash your hands mom said so :) love it! The star fish wood piece and shell we found on our last trip to the beach and the sand with shells is actually from our Hawaii trip :)) I also found some really neat coral on the beach that I wanted to use but it smelled SO SO fishy and I had to throw it away. I wonder if you can get rid of the smell somehow.

I hope that everyone has a good week I know we will only 3 more sleeps and our company will be here.....we CAN'T wait!

Buy some cheap wood and have fun distressing it with hammer, nails or let the kids do the work then have fun with your hubbys power tools ;) nail and glue together.

Conner and Ethan built their own with their tools.

Stain the box whatever color you want. I had a really dark stain on hand from who knows when so that's what I used.

I filled it with Styrofoam from our new chandelier.

then I used the moss stuff again.

then I filled it with hidrangias that I bought at Michaels except I thought I would like blue and green but I don't so now I don't have enough green ones to fill it up all the way so I have to go back to return the blue ones and get more green ones. LOVE how this turned out and it will go so well with the signs that I'm working on for the kitchen.

Tomorrow I will not be defeated by my children, projects, house work, appointment, running errands. Tomorrow I will defeat the day and finish with just a little quiet time to myself and even possibly time to shave my legs ;) Tomorrow is a new day and I am so glad that this one is over.

We had a good day though we did not have a special dinner like we intended. We had KFC for lunch because we were out and about and we were all feeling kinda sick after so our special V-day dinner will be tomorrow night :)

baby it's cold outside.....yeah the 60s and 70s can come back now! I forgot to turn the heat on last night so we woke up to a COLD house this morning. Only 3 days of this cold I can handle that :)

yay the orange walls are gone :) we finished last night.

I ended up going with a hole different color. I know you can't tell in a picture it almost looks like the other color.

I'm leaving the butlers pantry for now the other color......cuz I'm lazy like that.

ahhhhh......he was scaring us all. He used the extension ladder the first time then he used the kitchen table, step ladder and the extended paint stick for the 2nd coat. I could not watch.

Scary!

Just finished baking all these....yummy. No not all for us they are for Neal for work another batch in the oven :)

We had a good weekend just busy as usual. Neal just made popcorn for us so time for a movie with the kidos and some snuggles :)

Like I've mentioned I bought the paint for the kitchen well unfortunately once again they did not mix it correctly and instead of capuchino we got this cream color that just does not work at all. Grrrr too bad that I WASTED ONE FULL day. I painted the butlers pantry and the back splash ohh well. I went back today to see if they could re mix it but they just made it worst so they gave me a refund. Not sure what to do now if we want to try again for that color or go with something entirely different. I need to sleep on it it's to big of an area to just go for it and it's not easy painting with 3 kids.

Wow it's been a week since my last post and lots has happened but I've been tired again so camera once again has been on vacation. I think I need to go in for a check up I've been so dizzy lately and clumsy.....kinda of feeling weird but I feel like that when my anemia kicks in so that's probably all that it is. It's SPRING here and absolutely awesome things are staring to turn green flowers are blooming and it's really pretty. Not a dramatic transformation like up north after all the snow melts and all the rain but slowly it's turning green again.

His favorite spot....our bedroom window and he loves to just run around in his diaper:) It was so nice last week that people were actually running their air conditioning. Us we just enjoyed the heat and sunshine.

Starting to be really interested in what his brothers are doing but still prefers to be on mamas hip most of the day : / I should really have some huge arms at this point.

Conner and his girlfriend ;) these two are trouble! Our neighbors took us to an awesome park for the kids....we will be spending many mornings there I'm sure. We have missed our castle parks from up North. It always takes a while to discover all the little places/things to do when in a new place.

Picnic under the 1,500 year old Angel Oak.....AMAZING!!! Yes it's just a tree but it truly is spectacular. I remember reading an article YEARS ago about this tree and thought to myself that I would love to one day see it. Now we can go have a picnic there any time we want :)

SO I bought the paint today for the kitchen/hallways/butlers pantry/foyer so I will be busy for a little while with that. Neal will be helping me this weekend but I plan on staring some of it tomorrow on my own. So stay tuned for some updated pictures :)

Back to reality....

Neal is back to work today :( and none of us were ready for our little sleeping vacation to be over. I think we both were able to catch up on some sleep and it was fabulous but I have to say that getting out of bed this morning was really hard. We got NOTHING productive done like we had planed of course his vacation went from 10 days to 7 then down to 5 :( it was nice tho.

It was a really really sad week for me tho I went through all 3 boys clothes.....sigh. Conner has completely grown out of 4T and Ethan out of 2T and baby is fitting into 12/12-18 clothes. That alone made me want to cry. I'm really having a hard time keeping track of them outside because I'm not used to the new clothes and trust me when I say when all the kids are out it's a CROWD around here.

The other sad part of this week was that we weened the baby......sad......sad......sad. He actually did really well it's me that is a mess. I was not ready at all not even a little bit.

One of our neighbors has a new baby a sweet 1 month old little girl. I got to chat with her a little bit yesterday and see the baby and that made me even more sad. I REALLY need to get rid of those maternity clothes and baby clothes because now that things with Christopher are getting easier I'm starting to want another one :)

Ok now I need to get to work and clean up this mess of a house....I was on vacation too all week and let me tell ya it's a MESS!

I made my last two V-day crafts.....a little wreath for the front door. Nothing fancy just some cardboard that I wrapped with leftover burlap and then some more rosets to dress it up a bit using up some more of those Christmas bows.

Did you know that light bulb boxes could be this cute :)here is what I used.....

Light bulb boxes that I painted red then I used white paint to write out the letters and the heart and using more of the tissue paper made little tiny rosets for the heart and O's. then I just sealed it all in with the mod podge.

Sweet little guy helping mom organize clothes :) I've been working on the boys closets.....they have too many clothes it's really a pretty big job! Still have to do Christophers.We have had a really warm stretch I mean almost HOT Christopher LOVES being in his diaper :)

Cutie.....still no toothers on top but those gums look terrible. Poor little guy.

Ohhhh how I wish he would take one but he is not interested at all. I've been trying to nurse only at nap times and bed time but he is not doing so well with that arrangement. Weening him is going to be really really hard. Not interested in the cup either.....sigh.

Making a mess of my magazine stack looking out the bedroom window and talking to the back neighbor. It was so funny Ethan and the little boy behind us were talking to each other but they were having completely different conversations.

Made themselves a little bed tonight and watching Ratatouille.

Neal is on vacation this week.....no special plans just relaxing at home. We took turns sleeping today and it was PERFECT :)

Nothing like sweet hugs and kisses from your babies to make you feel better and if that does not work then just have some blueberry scones and coffee....it worked for me. Having a really really really bad day :( morning!!!

I'm gonna shake it off stand up tall and not let things get to me after all I deserve at least that much.

Neal was off yesterday and after lunch we headed for the beach....Neal stayed with the kids and I went for a LONG walk searching for treasures...I enjoyed my walk and quiet time very much.

well now they match.....new dryer arrived this morning but they did not hook it up for me so I need to get it hooked up so I can start on the huge pile of laundry...ONE FULL week without doing laundry and company for a full weekend :)

that is one huge pile of stuff to wash....haha any helpers.

lets hope that I can actually take my own advice and shake it off stand up tall and have a good afternoon :)

2 more days without laundry......it's one massive pile already it will be interesting to see how many more things we can dirty up in 2 days! So before Christmas our washing machine broke and we had to buy a new one, jokingly I said that it would be nice to have a matching one. I really did not want to spend money on a dryer but I got my wish the dryer broke Thursday....sigh. So I have not done laundry since then and after a weekend with company and Ethan wetting his bed and me being clumsy and spilling things and boys digging in the dirt and needing to be changed 3 times a day and a little boy who almost always pees all over himself when going pee pee I am litterally buerried in laundry. The dryer should be here Wed so we need to make it just a couple more days.

We are on the countdown now. Neal is off tomorrow then works Wednesday and then he is off for over a week. REALLY looking forward to having him home. We have no plans as of right now we were going to buy the paint for the kitchen and get that done but now with the extra expense of buying a dryer I'm sure Neal will not want to spend money on paint and this will take A LOT OF paint. We were going to buy one of those HUGE buckets. It might be nice to just relax too.

I cleaned our flower beds over the weekend and I'm so excited to see buds on many of the bushes that I moved in the fall I was worried non of them were going to make it but looks like I was wrong. Looking forward to those turning green and looking better. With this weather and the rain that is coming I think spring may be here sooner than I ever imagined :))))))

My little helpers....they make such a mess :) Some days I wish I could have just a little time to myself but then I think about Conner starting school this year and I get sad. I'm not ready. I'm not ready at all and I'm just having a really hard time with it. I want him to stay home with me is that terrible???

I had a date today a very special date indeed. Ethan and I got to go out alone for a couple hours. His quiet mellow nature gets a little lost in the madness of this household and it was SO SO nice to get to spend a little one on one time with him. It was fun listening to all that he had to say and listen to his stories....he is such a little goofball. He had fun too I guess when Conner starts school he will have much more of my attention so that will be one nice thing.

Getting closer and closer to being able to paint the kitchen walls :) I did the kitchen pantry today!!

before....eeeewwww.....messy! Unloaded took out the shelves painted cleaned reloaded and somehow during all this my children destroyed the rest of the house.

But at least now the pantry is all done and clean. really all I have left in the kitchen before it can get painted is one more coat of paint on the ceiling then patching some holes on the walls sanding and then the taping can begin....that's all :) Now I need to get back to putting the house back together....sigh it never ends does it!

I found this website with tons of tutorials on how to draw different things....cartoons, animals, people....it has step by step instructions. It keeps Conner busy for hours....he LOVES it!!!

Big stuff....loves to play in the bathroom.

Neal had to go to Georgia for a night and the kids and I went along. I love having a routine my kids do really well with a routine. It's nice when we are home because I can easily work around nap times, eating times and so on but as soon as anything takes them out of their routine they turn into MONSTERS. Needless to say we are glad to be home. We did have some fun though even with things not really going according to plan with Neal's work. We stayed really close to the beach in Georgia but things did not go according to plan and we did not make it to those beaches but made it to the ones right on the border of South Carolina and Georgia....WOW WHAT A beautiful area and the beaches were fantastic.

I am EXHAUSTED....Chris did not sleep last night at the hotel and I was up with him most the night. He was SO glad to be in his bed tonight it was sweet. I nursed him then put him in his crib he looked up at me gave me a huge grin then turned on his tummy tucked his knees under his belly and went to sleep.....it was adorable....he loves his bed :)

Many of you probably have seen this trick on pintrest. You basically water down Elmers glue and dip yarn/string in it then wrap it around a balloon. Let it dry overnight then pop the balloon and the string stays stiff. It's pretty neat actually!

I made lots of little balls then used a string of lights I bunched a bunch 4 or 5 then tied them up and placed them inside each ball forming a light up garland. So this really did not work like I saw it in my head and really not worth all the time effort and mess that went into this project. It is cute though and I would DEFINITELY do this on a larger scale for a party decoration but not on a small scale like I did this time.

I was REALLY craving something sweet today....well I crave something sweet every couple hours but today I really wanted something yummy. After searching through some recipes we decided on a pumpkin pie and I could not even wait for it to cool down.....so yummy. Might have to have another piece later :)

We had a very productive Saturday....Neal and I painted the kitchen ceiling. It needs one more coat though....bummer it will have to wait till he has 2 days in a row off tho.

Yeah I pretty much love my new candle sticks. I did brake one of them but I still plan on fixing it just need a new round for the bottom part. Hopefully I can find something at Home Depot or Lowes.

Play Dough keeps my kids busy for HOURS :) from breakfast till lunch so while they played I did this.....

I'm not sure if this mess was worth it....I'll let ya know tomorrow :)

Drying!!!

This is a little out of place but I got this sandwich pop tart maker thing that we are really loving. This one is peanut butter banana but we have made them with whipped cream cheese and ham and cheese I've even chopped up broccoli and put it in there.....my kids love them. Fun for school lunch boxes. You just use regular bread.
