Japandi Style

2023-03-15T14:48:00.006+02:00

If Scandinavian decoration attracts you but you feel that you would like some extra soul into your space, then the Japandi style is what you are searching for!

The Japandi term was born from the contraction of the words Japan and Scandi and it reflects the successful mix of these two beloved styles of decoration. It's about a clever mix between the Scandinavian way of life and Japanese aesthetics. The use of neutral colors, natural materials and functional furniture with organic shapes offers a warm atmosphere and bring pleasure and calmness to the senses.

Apartment renovation

2023-02-08T15:53:00.000+02:00

A small classic apartment turned into a contemporary space. The use of classic materials such as wood and marble combined perfectly with the bold colors of the walls, the minimal design in the kitchen and the modern lighting fixtures.

My home's renovation...

2020-06-29T02:29:00.000+03:00

This is the season that every year I am in the mood of making some changes on my home's decoration... Especially this year, the desire for changes was more intense for me.

So, I was planning some changes in the color of the walls, some addings in the furniture or rearranging the decoration of some spaces.

Firstly, I wanted so much to renovate my bedroom giving it a romantic accent and making it more cozy and hospitable... and then I felt that it was the right time to put some fresh air in my living room. The space where we spend many hours each day...
I was really happy when I discovered Photowall Sweden, where I found out the perfect wallpapers for my home.

I chose a romantic vintage floral wallpaper for the bedroom, which fits perfectly with the decoration of the room and a watercolor like wallpaper in green hues for the living room, which totally matched with the ethnic pendant lights and the rustic coffe table.

I am so excited with the result!!! I had never put up a wallpaper before, but the video tutorial and the clear instructions helped me get the perfect result.
If you like it too and you are in the mood for some changes in your home's decoration, you can now take your own Photowall wallpapers with an exclusive discount of 25% on their complete selection, using the code ideabygs2021, for a whole month, as much as you want!!

I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!!!

Trend: Blush + Copper in the bedroom

2017-06-13T11:07:00.000+03:00

Even though I'm not a girl who likes pink hues in decoration, suddenly I felt in love with blush and dirty pink touches, especially in bedroom's decoration. Blush is quickly becoming the new neutral... Balance your blush linen, throws, candles or ceramics with metallic, copper tones for decorative items such as bedside tables, lamps, frames or furniture handles and light grey on the walls, creating a classy bedroom with an extra relaxing atmosphere.

Botanic Living

Lately, the trend in interior design takes inspiration from nature and adds a sense of sophisticated style in any room. As it is well known, plants not only create a chic and homey feel to the interior but many of them actually improve air quality, as they are removing harmful toxins and increase the humidity and the oxygen levels.

This is the best time of the year to add some greenery into your house... Check out the easiest indoor plants to keep alive and try to make your home a little bit more green.

Totally white house

2017-01-31T12:21:00.002+02:00

A sophisticated, totally white house which could easily be located in a Cycladic island... Everything in this house is painted in white colour so as to be bright all day long. Only a few details such as the grey hues of the sofa, the carpet or the pillows, the cement light in the living room, some black details in the decoration (which add an industrial touch in the space) and a few rustic details as the bamboo hanging chair, the wooden trolley table or the fur stool, stop the "monotony" of this white canvas.

Green Grey Bedroom

2017-01-25T20:07:00.001+02:00

After having such a long time to publish anything on my blog (almost 9 months), I need to say a hello and wish you to have a happy new year!

For me, 2016 was one of the hardest years ever, with so many difficulties to face and a few moments of endless happiness. Thanks God, those unique moments helped me to stand back on my feet and try to get a new start on my life...

New year found us in a new home, far away from the previous one, trying to organise our everyday life, to rearrange our stuff and of course to decorate our new lovely place.

I have almost finished with the decoration of the living room and now I am thinking what to do with our bedroom which is a spacious and bright room where I can play with colours and materials.

The colours I choose to use for our bedroom is the combination of the green grey and the off white, as is one of my beloved ones and coincidentally, green is the Pantone colour of the 2017.

The green grey hues are ideal for a bedroom as they provide a serene environment which is ideal for relaxation and a feeling of rejuvenation.

Every year for one weekend, private and public buildings open their gates to everyone for free and the city is transformed to a big museum with its buildings and architecture being the exhibits.

The third Open House Athens is scheduled for the 15th, 16th & 17th of April 2016, with a numerous public & private historical buildings waiting for us to explore them...

Round coffee tables

The latest trend in the decoration of a living room and one of my favorites is the round coffee tables... The best decision is to instal a group of two or three small round tables of different size, height and style. I adore the combination of a central round coffee table with the mix of a wooden stool and a tree trunk...

Reconstruction of a traditional house in Mani

2016-02-11T12:31:00.003+02:00

The architectural office hhharchitects took over the reconstruction of a typical traditional house in the settlement of Lefktro, in Mani, back in 2011...

The guiding principes in designing this project were both the preservation of the existing stone shell of the house and the clear differentiation of the new integrated constructions, creating a wonderful mix of traditional architecture with modern design and materials, like metal and glass.
