I couldn't have asked for a better wedding to end the year with. Laura and Mike were so much fun, and all the family and friends were so nice.

And anyone who has ever been to the Crystal Tea Room knows that it's one of the best halls in Philadelphia.

Amanda & Chris' wedding might just be my favorite of the year. It's a tough call in a year full of great wedding, wonderful couples, and a whole lot of special same day edits. But the new Mr. & Mrs. Banzali took their music serious and hired the best wedding band in the Philadelphia area - The Heartbeats. It's always a pleasure to work with them. Not only do they play the songs almost note for note they also have 5 singers who can sound incredibly like the original singers. And to date I have not met a band leader that is as fun or easy to work with as Nick. My hats off to this great band.

It makes our day a lot easier when we get to work with true professionals and that brings me to our friend, Marc Anthony. He always takes great photos and always likes to have a good time at weddings. Check out his blog to see his amazing photos from this event.

This same day edit needs some foreground information. Amanda and Chris agreed to have their wedding featured on a TLC show called Four Weddings. The premise is that four brides attend each others wedding and then grade it based on their overall experience, the hall, the food, and the wedding dress. The couple with the highest score gets an all expenses paid honeymoon to an exotic location. Frankly, between The Merion, The Heartbeats, Marc and me filming the wedding, I don't see how they can lose.

But I just wanted to mention this because there were a few extra cameras at this wedding. So if you see the cameraman standing right in the middle of the altar - THAT'S NOT US! We don't shoot weddings like that.

The song is called I Can't Wait by Runner Runner. Amanda & Chris selected it from my list of selected songs featured on my Tuesday Morning Music Club blog posts.

Well, KSV has definitely been getting around this year. West Point, Cape Charles, and now Chestertown, Maryland. The wedding of Pam and Matt was nothing short of spectacular. We got to work with a very high energy band called Rollex, and one of the nicest and most talented photographers we have worked with, Stephanie Miller.

I have been doing this 6 years and have filmed hundreds of weddings successfully. Working with photographers can be a challenge because we both want to have good positions to get the shots we want, but through communication we are able to make it work for both of us.

But for the last couple of years there has been an epidemic in the wedding industry. It's the guest who absolutely will stop at nothing to get a photo with their cell phone. Hmmm, wait.....maybe 'epidemic' is too harsh a word for this. Let me look it up.

NOPE! Epidemic is the perfect word for this. And the perfect word for this wedding guest? Well, I'll let you decide that.

The purpose of this post is to bring to light how ignorant guests can be to the fact that you paid thousands of dollars for a professional videographer and photographer to capture your day. And while it is a free and country and they are free to take photos they should remain in their seats while doing so. I have seen a few wedding photographers throughout the country make blog posts about "Unplugged Weddings".

The concept of an unplugged wedding is that the couple explains that they have hired professionals to do photos and video and they encourage the guests to just experience the day, instead of trying to take pictures all day. I think this is a great idea. In fact, I practice what I preach because even though I do video for a living I have very few videos of my children. I do not want to watch them grow up through a viewfinder.

One thing I have seen at weddings, which I think is a great idea, is the aisle ribbons. Not only is it a great idea to make sure the guests do not ruin your photos or video, but it is very decorative.

I had a couple weeks off from weddings so I initiated a self imposed exile to get things organized, get all wedding backed up, and to refuel my engines. I'll be getting back to posting edits on the blog and returning phone calls and emails within the next couple days. I am all ready for part two of the wedding season. BRING IT ON!
