Tirupati-Madurai Bi-weekly Express to be Extended up to Rameswaram

Train No. 16779 / 16780 Tirupati - Madurai - Tirupati bi-weekly Express will be extended up to Rameswaram and its frequency also will be increased from bi-weekly to tri-weeklywith effect from 22nd July, 2012.

The inaugural run will commence from Tirupati on 22nd July, 2012 and from Rameswaram on 23rdJuly, 2012.

On its regular run, Train No. 16779 Tirupati-Rameswaram Tri-weekly Express will depart Tirupati at 13 15 hrs on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays and arrive Rameswaram at 09.15 hrs on the next day. In return direction Train No. 16780 Rameswaram-Tirupati Tri-weekly Express will depart Rameswaram at 16.00 hrs on all Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive Tirupati at 10 35 hrs on the next day.

Enroute this train will stop at Pakala, Katpadi, Vellore contonement,Tirunnamalai, Villupuram, Tiruppadirippullyur, Cuddalore Port, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladudurai, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Kodaikkanal Road, Madurai, Manamadurai, Paramakkudi, Ramananthapuram and Mandapam. This train will have AC, Sleeper Class, and General second class coaches.

SCR Introduces Adilabad-Nanded-Adilabad Daily Express

As announced in the Railway Budget 2012-13, South Central Railway will introduce Adilabad – Nanded-Adilabad Daily Express Train on 14th July, 2012.

The Train will be flagged off by Shri. Ramesh Rathod, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Adilabad) at 08 30 hrs on 14th July 2012 at Adilabad Railway Station. Shri. Jogu Rammana, Hon’ble MLA, will be the Guest of Honour,

On its inaugural run, Train No.17409 Adilabad-H.S.Nanded-Express Train will depart Adilabad at 08 30 hrs and arrive at Nanded 12 15 hrs on the same day.There after, this Train will run as per its scheduled timings published in Southern Zone Railway Time Table-July 2012 issue.

Accodingly, Train No. 17409 Adilabad - H.S. Nanded Express Train will depart Adilabad at 07 30 hrs, Kinwat at 08 30 hrs, Bodhadibujrug at 08 45 hrs, Sahasrakund at 09 25 hrs, Himayatnagar at 09 45 hrs, Hadgaon Road at 10 10 hrs, Bhokar at 10 30 hrs, Mudkhed at 11 05 hrs and arrive Nanded at 12 00 hrs on the same day.

In the return direction, Train No. 17410 H.S. Nanded - Adilabad Express will depart at H.S. South Central Railway has extended the run of Train No.56011/56012 Arakkonam – Nandalur - Arakkonam Passenger Train up to Kadapa with effect from 12 July 2012 for the convenience of commuters.

Accordingly Train No. 56011 Arakkonam – Kadapa Passenger Train will depart Arakkonam at 07 05 hrs and arrive Nandalur at 12 23 hrs as at present.On its extended portion, this Train will depart Nandalur at 12 25 hrs, Mantapampalle at 12 35 hrs, ontimitta at 12 44 hrs, Bhakrapeta at 12 53 hrs, Kanamalopalle at 13 02 hrs and arrive Cuddapah at 13 45 hrs on the same day.

Bhubaneswar – Tirupati Weekly Superfast Express to be introduced on 14th July, 2012

As announced in the Railway Budget 2012-13, East Coast Railway will introduce Bhubaneswar-Tirupati Weekly Super fast Express on 14thJuly, 2012.

Train No. 22871 Bhubaneswar-Tirupati Weekly Superfast Express will depart Bhuvaneshwar at 12 00 noon on Saturdays and arrive Tirupati at 08 25 hrs on Sundays.

In the return direction Train No. 22872 Tirupati-Bhuvaneshvar weekly super fast Express will depart Tirupati at 13 00 hrs on Sundays and arrive Bhuvaneshvar at 10 10 hrs on Mondays.Enroute, these Trains will stop at Khurda Road,Balugaon, Chatrapur, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Palasa, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada ongole, Nellore, Gudur.

These Trains will have two AC-III Tier, one AC two Tier, eight Sleeper Class, three general second class, two brake van coaches, totaling to sixteen coaches.

Regulation / Cancellation of Trains due to Traffic Block on Ghatkesar-Bibinagar Section

Due to traction improvement works, South Central Railway will impose traffic block on up and down lines between Ghatkesar and Bibinagar stations twice a week i.e on Tuesday and Friday from 13thJuly 2012. As a result, the following trains will be cancelled / short terminated / regulated as detailed below:-

1.Tr.No. 17201 Guntur -Secunderabad Golconda Express scheduled to arrive at Secunderabad 13 45 hrs will be short terminated at Bhongir and will be run as Tr.No. 17233 Secunderabad-Balharshah Bhagyanagar Express.

2.Tr.No. 17233 Secunderabad-Balharshah Bhagyanagar Express scheduled to departSecunderabad at 15 25 hrs will be partially cancelled between Secunderabad-Bhongir.

3.Tr.No. 17208 Kakinada Port-Sai Nagar Shirdi Express scheduled to departSecunderabad at 16 50 hrs will be regulated between Kazipet and Bhongir on Tuesday for 70 min.

4.Tr. No. 67267 Warangal-Hyderabad MEMU Passenger scheduled to arrive Hyderabad 18 00 hrs will be cancelled and its pairing Tr.No. 67266 Hyderabad-Kazipet MEMU passenger scheduled to depart Hyderabad 18 40 hrs will also be cancelled.

5.To cater to the passengers of 67267 Warangal-Hyderabad MEMU Passenger, 17405 Tirupathi-Adilabad Krishna Express will be given stop at all halt stations.

6.Tr.No. 15015 Gorakhpur-Yesvantpur Express scheduled to depart Secunderabad 15 30 hrs willbe regulated between Kazipet-Bhongir on Tuesday for 02 hrs 20 minutes.

7.Tr. No. 67277 Falaknuma-Bhongir MEMU scheduled to arrive Bhongir at 16 00 hrs and Tr. No. 67275 Bhongir-Falaknuma scheduled todepart Bhongir at 17 00 hrs to be cancelled on Tuesday and Friday.

8.Tr.No 17012 Bellampalli-Hyderabad Express scheduled to arrive Hyderabad at 15 45 hrs will be regulated between Kazipet-Pagidipalli for 2 hrs.

9.Tr. No. 57152 Repalle-Secunderabad Passenger scheduled to arrive Secunderabad at 17 10 hrs will be regulated at Bibinagar for 45 minutes.

10.Tr. No. 12748 Vikarabad-Guntur Express scheduled to depart Vikarabad at 13 45 hrs will be rescheduled to leave Vikarabad at 15 45 hrs.

11.Tr. No 12748 Secunderabad-Howrah Express will be regulated for 15 minutes at Ghatkesar.

Secunderabad- Patna- Secunderabad Express Diverted

SCR surpasses targets in freight traffic and handles record passenger volume in first quarter (April-June 2012)

South Central Railway has registered a significant growth in the traffic volume handled – both in freight and passenger segments in the first quarter of the current fiscal, i.e., April to June 2012, vis-à-vis last year.The performance in the traffic volume and earnings for the first quarter is detailed below :

1.Gross Originating Earnings :

The gross originating earnings on SCR has shown an impressive growth of 28.5% during the first quarter of the current financial year, i.e., April to June 2012.The zone has earned an incremental revenue of Rs.550 crores with aGross Originating Earnings of Rs.2478 Crores in this period, as compared to Rs.1928 Crores last year.

2. Freight Segment :

South Central Railway turned out a commendable freight performance in the first Quarter of the current financial year, i.e., April to June 2012.As per the yearly target of 11.50 million tones assigned by Railway Board to SCR, its proportionate target for the first quarter stands at 26.77 million tonnes.But SCR actually moved 27.40 million tones during this period, surpassing its proportionate target for the first quarter by 0.66 million tones.It is up by 11% compared to the loading (24.74 million tonnnes) in the corresponding period of last year. The major commodities moved by SCR maintained their upward surge in this period.

Coal – Coal accounts for the largest chunk of freight loading on SCR. There was a quantum jump in the originating coal loading from M/s.Singareni Collieries Company Ltd, M/s.Western Coalfields Limited and imported coal from Krishnapatnam Port and Kakinada sea ports.The loading has been 15.13 million tonnes (approx.) during the first quarter of the current financial year as compared to 12.78 million tonnes loaded during the same period of last year, an improvement of 2.35 million tonnes (18.4%).It is 1.09 million tonnes (7.7%) higher over the proportionate target of 14.04 million tonnes.

Cement : Cement loading has shown a significant increase from the Cement plants of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra falling in the jurisdiction of SCR.The loading has been 7.25 million tonnes (approx) during the first quarter of the current financial year as compared to 5.96 million tonnes loaded during the same period of last year, an improvement of 1.30 million tonnes (21.8%). It is 0.92 million tonnes (14.6%) higher over the proportionate target of 6.33 million tonnes.

Food grains, fertilizers, containers and Petro products account for the remaining portion of freight segment.

The growth in freight loading is mainly aided by the spurt in the loading at Krishnapatnam and Kakinada sea ports.

Loading at Krishnapatnam Port : During the period, the loading at Krishnapatnam Port was 2.45 million tonnes as compared to 2.16 million tonnes loaded during the same period of last year, an improvement of 0.29 million tonnes (13.4%).

Loading at Kakinada Sea Ports Limited : During the period, the loading at Kakinada Sea Ports Limitedwas 1.22 million tonnes as compared to 0.69 million tonnes loaded during the same period of last year, an improvement of 0.53 million tonnes (76.6%).

Originating Freight Earnings : There was a significant increase of 40% in originating freight earnings during the first quarter of the current year. During this periodthe originating freight earnings were Rs.1855.88 Crores as against Rs.1325.61 Crores achieved in the same period of last year.

3. Passenger Segment :

During the first quarter, the passenger earnings also posted a healthy growth of 6.5% netting Rs. 524.31 Crores as compared to Rs.492 Crores for the same period of last year. SCR handled around 99.3 million originating passengers on its system with a growth rate of 4% in this period.

South Central Railway will impose a traffic block for 03 days from 07th - 09th July 2012 for facilitating insertion of RCC Blocks (box jacking works) at Road Under Bridge situated near Mettuguda. The introduction offour new Express trains, Viz.,Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam AC Duronto Tri-Weekly Express,Secunderabad-Dharbhanga Bi-weekly Express, Hyderabad-Bellampalli Daily Intercity Express and Hyderabd-Ajmer weekly Express is postponed from the earlier announced date of 6th July, 2012.

The revised date of introduction will be notified in due course. Full refund will be granted upon cancellation to those passengers who have already booked their tickets by thesetrains. Inconvenience caused to the passengers is regretted.

On its inaugural run Train No.07007 Secunderabad-Dharbhanga Bi-weekly Express will depart Secunderabad at 11.40 hrs on 11^th July, 2012 and arrive Dharbhanga at 01 15 hrs on the second day. In the return direction also, the train will run as a Special Train No.07008 Darbhanga-Secunderabad Express and will depart Darbhanga on 14^th July 2012 at 07.00 hrs. and will arrive Secunderabad at 22.10 hrs. the next day.

This Train will commence its regular run on 14^th July, 2012 from Secunderabad and on 17^th bJuly 2012 from Dharbhanga. on its regular run,Train No 17007 Secunderabad Dharbhanga Bi-Weekly Express will depart Secunderabad at 22 00 hrs on Tuesdays and Saturdays and arrive Dharbhanga at 13 00 hrs on Thursdays and Mondays respectively. In the return direction, 17008 Dharbhanga- Secunderabad Bi-weekly Express will depart Dharbhanga at 07 00 hrs on Fridays and Tuesdays and arrive Secunderabad at 22 10 hrs on Saturdays and Wednesdays respectively.

Hyderabad-Ajmer weekly Express Train:

On its inaugural run, Train No.07020 Hyderabad-Ajmer Weekly Express will depart Hyderabad at 11.40 hrs on 11^thJuly, 2012 and arrive Ajmer at 23.45 hrs on the second day. In the return direction also, the train will run as a Special Train No.07019 Ajmer-Secunderabad Express and will depart Ajmer on 14^thJuly 2012 at 17.40 hrs. and will arrive Secunderabad at 08.10 hrs. the second day.

This Train will commence its regular service from 14^th July, 2012 from Hyderabad and from 17^th July 2012 from Ajmer. Accordingly, Train No 17020 will departHyderabad at15 00 hrs on Saturdays and will reach Ajmer at 03 05 on Mondays. In the return direction, Train No 17019 Ajmer-Hyderabad Weekly Express depart will depart Ajmer at 17 40 hrs on Tuesdays and reach Hyderabad on Thursday at 08 10 hrs.

Enroute these trains will stop at Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Medchal, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Basar, H S Nanded, Parbhani Junction, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad junction, Jalogaon, Bhusaval, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Harda, Itarsi, Bhopal, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandasor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh, Bhilwara and Bijainagar stations.

These Trains will have 21 coaches viz., one AC Two Tier, two AC Three Tier, 10 Second Class Chair Car, six General Second Class and twoSecond Class Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches.

Visakhapatnam Secunderabad Duronto Superfast Express and Hyderabad Bellampalli Intercity Express to be inaugurated on 11th July 2012

1)Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Tri-Weekly AC Duronto Express:

On its Inaugural run, Train No. 02204 Secunderabad-Vishakhapatnam Tri-weekly AC Duronto Express will depart Secunderabad at 11.30 hrs on 11^th July, 2012 (Wednesday) and arrive Vishakhapatnam at21.30 hrson the same day.

This train will commence its regular services on 12^th July, 2012 from Visakhapatnam,and from Secunderabad on 14^thJuly, 2012. This is a point to point non stop Express and will not stop at intermediate stations.Accordingly, Train No. 22204 Secunderabad-Vishakhapatnam Tri-weekly AC Durontoexpresswill depart Secunderabad at 20.30 hrsonMondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and arrive at Vishakhapatnam at 06.05 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, Train no 22203 Tri-weekly AC Durontoexpress will depart Vishakhapatnam at 22.35 hrs on all Tuesdays,Thursdays and Sundays and arrive Secunderabad at 08.00 hrs on the next day.

This Train will have 15 coaches Viz.,one AC First class, three AC II Tier, nine AC III Tier and two break van cum power car coaches.

2)Hyderabad-Bellampalli Daily Intercity Express:

On its Inaugural run, Train No.07011 Hyderabad-Bellampalli Intercity Express will depart Hyderabad at 11.30 hrs on 11th July, 2012 and arrive at Bellampally at 16.05 hrs the same day. In the return direction, Train No.07012 Bellampalli-Hyderabad Intercity Express will depart Bellampalli at 16.55 hrs and arrive Hyderabad at 21.50 hrs on the same day.

The regular service of this train will commence from 12^th July, 2012 from both the directions. Accordingly, Train No. 17011 Hyderabad–Bellampalli Daily Intercity Expresswill depart Hyderabad at 05.15 hrsand arrive Bellampalli at 10.00 hrs on the same day.In the return direction TrainNo.17012 Bellampalli-Hyderabad Intercity Express will depart Bellampalli at 10.30 hrs and arrive Hyderabad at 15.45 hrs on the same day. Enroute this train will stop at Secunderabad, Bhongir, Aler, Jangoan Kazipet, Uppal, Jammikunta, Potkapalli, Odela, Kolanur, Peddampalli, Ramagundam and Manchiryal stations in both the directions.

This train will have 15 Coaches Viz., Ten Chair Car, one AC chair Car,two General second class and two Second Class Luggage Cum Break Van coaches totaling to 15 coaches.

Tirupati-Mannargudi-Tirupati Tri-Weekly Express to be introduced

Tirupati-Mannargudi Tri-weekly Express which was announced in the current Railway Budget will be inaugurated on 3rd July, 2012 from Tirupati.

The regular run of the train will commence on 4th July, 2012 from Mannargudi and on 5th July, 2012 from Tirupati.

Accordingly on its regular run, Train no. 17408 Mannargudi-Tirupati Tri-weekly Express will depart Mannargudi at 05 30 hrs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and arrive Tirupati at 16 35 hrs on thesame day. In the return direction, train no. 17407 Tirupati-Mannargudi tri-weekly express will depart Tirupati at 10 40 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive Mannargudi at 22 35 hrs on the same day. Enroute, these trains will stop at Pakala, Chittoor, Katpadi, Vellore Cant., Arni Raod, Tiruvannamalai, Tirukkovilur, Villupuram, Cuddalore Port, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladudurai, Perlam, Thiruvaur and Nidamangalam.

Amendment in Tatkal Scheme

With a view to further improve the delivery of Tatkal tickets to passengers, the Ministry of Railways has decided that with effect from 10.07.2012 booking of Tatkal ticket will start at 10.00 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 08.00 hours at present.

No authorised agents, including agents of Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Railway Travel Service Agents (RTSAs) will be allowed to book Tatkal tickets from 10.00 hours to 12.00 hours. The existing restriction of not allowing these agents booking of general tickets on the opening day from 08.00 hours to 10.00 hours will also continue.

Jaipur-Secunderabad-Jaipur bi-weekly Special trains extended for two more trips

Salient Features of Southern Zone Public Time Table - July 2012 Issue

The release of new Railway Time Table every year is an event, eagerly awaited by the travelling Public. Shri G.N.Asthana, General Manager, South Central Railway has released the Southern Zone Time Table today i.e 30^th June 2012 at Rail Nilayam conference hall. This Time Table, which was got designed and printed by South Central Railway, provides detailed timings on all the Train services run on South Central, Southern , South Western and Konkan Railways.

The layout of this issue has been designed with care to enable easyreference and access to the required information on various Passenger Services. The data has been presented colorfullyin an eye-pleasingmanner with maps and tables to enhance the readability. This Southern Zone Time tablecan serve as a one-stop guide for all the information needs of Rail Passengers in planning their journey.

This new Time Table, which comes into effect from 01st July, offers much cheer for the Passengers of South Central Railway . 15 of the 75 new Mail/Express Trains announced in the Railway Budget-2012-13 will originate from S.C.Railway and another 10 would pass through this Railway.Thus, 1/3^rd of the total Mail/Express trains to be introduced during the FY 2012-13 would be available for the Passengers ofS.C.Railway. Allotment of such high percentage of trains for SCR has never been done in the past. These trains will be introduced in a phased manner in the current Financial Year.

Apart from New Train Services, this Time Table features the extension of 3 Originating Trains and 1 pass through Train and increase in frequency of 8 Originating / Terminating Trains and 4 pass through Trains over SCR.There will be change in the Days of operation for 5 Weekly Trains on SCR.

Changes in the present schedule of timings have been effected in respect of 4of the SCR's trains, viz.,i) Tr. No 17429 Hyderabad- Tirupathi Rayalaseema Express ii) Tr. No 12485 Nanded- Shri Ganga Sagar Express, iii) Tr. No 12732 Secunderabad - Tirupathi Express and iv) Tr. No 17415 Tirupathi - Kolhapur Haripriya Express.

12 Trains have been speeded up by reducing their travel time ranging from 10 minutes to 80 minutes.Arrival / Departure Timings of some of the Trains at individual Stations have been changed in 12 cases

Change of terminal has been effected from the present Secunderabad to Kachegudafor 2 Trainsviz., - i)Tr. No 57426 Guntakal - Secunderabad Passenger andii) Tr. No 57473 Secunderabad - Bodhan Passenger.

Train Numbers of 4 Originating / Terminating Express Trains and 14 Express Trains passing through SCR have also been changed with effect from various dates in August and October.

Preference to Tatkal Waiting List Passengers in Allotment of Berths in Additional Coaches

Indian Railways has modified the rules regarding allotment of vacant berths in the additional coaches being attached on day to day requirement basis.

Accordingly, whenever an extra coach is attached to a particular train to clear day to day rush of waitlisted passengers, vacant berths available in the extra coach shall be first offered to the tatkal waiting list passengers of that class and there after the left over vacant berths, if any, to the general waiting listed passengers of that class. However, this provision is not applicable to the additional coaches, attached as a regular measure of temporary augmentation, for a specific duration such as summer rush.

Earlier, vacant berths available in extra coaches were offered first to general waiting list passengers and the balance, if any, were allotted to tatkal waiting list passengers of that class.

Red Ribbon Express Opened For Public Viewing At Secunderabad Railway Station

ShriPankaj Dwivedi, Chief Secretary, Government of AP, opened the Red Ribbon Express, the mobile Exhibition Train, for public viewing at Bhoiguda side of Secunderabad Railway Station today (4thJune, 2012).Shri Rathna Kishore, Principal Secretary, Health & Family welfare, Govt. of AP, Shri Shyamal Rao, Project Director, AP AIDS Control Society, Shri Natarajan Gulzar, District Collector, Hyderabad District, Shri Sanjive Roy, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, South Central Railway, other officials form Government of AP, South Central RailwayandNational AIDS Control Society were present on the occasion.

Shri Pankaj Dwivedi visited the exhibition coaches of Red Ribbon Express (RRE). While addressing the Media Personnel at the Conference Coach of the RRE, Shri Pankaj Diwedi said that many epidemics such as cholera, malaria had threatened the existence of human race on the earth in the past but were successfully contained with the help of advancement in the medical science. In the 21stcentury,the contagious and incurable HIV and AIDS is confronting and challenging us.The control of this killer disease mainly depends onprevention of its spread based on awareness and precautions, he added. He hoped that the 3rdphase of RRE will help spread awareness against HIV / AIDS in AP in order to eradicate the same in the near future, he added.

Shri Shyamala Rao, Project Director, AP AIDS Control Society , said that the prevalence of HIV / AIDS in AP had come down due to relentless fight against the same. TheCentral Blood Bank , Institute of Preventive Medicine, organized Blood Donation Camp in their mobile van. VariousGovernmentOrganisations and Non GovernmentalOrganisation s put up their stalls at the venue to educate the visitors on prevention and control of HIV / AIDS.

The entry to RRE is free of charge and RRE will be in Secuderabad tomorrow also before it leaves for Adilabad.
