I tagged up with my golf buddies Cam, Schoeman, and Brenden and just had a great time. I shot a 79 which isnt bad considering I've only played a few times this year. Tournements are coming up soon and well mother nature isnt allowing me to practice at all and its really bugging me.

anyways this was just a short blog

keep in touch

The Pant suit lady has sung

Today Hillary Clinton finally gave her support to the now democratic nominee for president, Barack Obama. After 15 months of campaigning and almost 20million dollars in debt and all 50 primaries & caucases we can now start to focus on the general election.

While I do like Mccains foreign policy experience, I don't see anything else he can offer besides a 3rd George W. Bush term. Mccain has said in the past that we would be in Iraq for 100 years, then not too long ago he claimed we would be out of Iraq by the year 2013. He also had no plan on how we were going to do that. Look I'll give you 2 huge reasons why we should not be in Iraq and why the war was a major dumbass decision. If you've read in your history class about the depressions and recessions that America has had throughout its history you would recognize that war brought us out of those recessions with the influx of jobs needed for metal and war equipment. The war in Iraq has put us into a semi recession felt at different degrees across the country, it certainly hasn't made things better. We were promised cheap oil SAY WHAT?? Yeah, what happened to that? Gas prices are so high that everyone is changing how they live their lives, which in a sense is a good thing, but for the ones really hit hard it's a killer when it costs them $20 every day just to go to work and back home 5 days a week. So unless I become a rich guy, the mustang that I want will just sit in my driveway while i drive a honda civic hybrid.

Now for Obama, although neither canidate has a great plan to help with the energy crisis Obama's plan offers 140billion dollars in incentives for engineers to build more fuel efficent and gas independent cars. This is my main reason why if I could vote I would vote for him. He also wants to make taxes a whole lot easier for dumbies like me to fill out and along with that a $1000 worth of tax cuts for the american familys making under $102,000 a year (for those who make more than that and want to complain, all i have to say is stop it , you don't know how good you have it). Mccain wants to continue the exact same Bush economy, which gives tax breaks to the elite class and makes the lower class pay for it, thus dismantling the middle class there is only the Really Rich, the Rich, or the Poor, and Poorer.

Now we don't know how things would be today if those 4 planes wouldn't of been hijacked on that horrific day 7 years ago, but you would think we could of handled it a whole lot better.

ACT Prep

Latley I have been cramming for the ACT. I wish I could afford a personal tutor to help me with some things that many people fear including me on the ACT. So thought that I'd seek out resources on the web to help me out, though they are't that one on one instruction that can be key in understanding, I've come up with some ways to help prep for the ACT without a tutor.

1.) Go on youtube
There are hundreds of excellent videos giving tips and strategies to help you out and it's basically like having a tutor only on a video, best part is ITS FREE!

2.) Get an official ACT Prep book
You can find these at most book stores or online for anywhere from $15-$30 still better than $30 an hour. They offer every thing you could think of that would help you on the ACT including every subject.

3.) Ask your friends for help
If you have some friends who have taken the test, ask them what to expect, tips, traps, strategies they used. If you have a myspace or other social networking account ask for help from everybody on your network theres bound to be some nerds willing to help!

4.)Simply take the test
The best way to learn is by actually taking the test. You can take the ACT as many times as you want so don't get down if the first time you take it you don't do very well. Look back on what you did wrong, what you did right, and critique yourself to find out what you need to work on for next time.

Hopefully these tips can help you out

be sure to check back often!

New age Bands

In this new internet age it seems that the promoting your band is easier more than ever. With huge social networking websites like Myspace, Purevolume, Yahoo domains, and a whole host of others. If you have an account on one of these sites especially myspace, you're sure to get a comment or message from some band you've never heard of and well really have no interest in, but the more exposure they get the better chance they have of getting a gig.

My point is that bands and artists don't have to prove themselves as much as they did back in the beatles era. Therefore many do not last very long because they haven't "paid their dues" so to speak. I think it should be called the One hit wonder era, many artists make one catchy song that plays on the radio for a summer, but yet a year later they are unheard of.

Personally my favorite band is Yellowcard whos unique original sound with the use of the violin is one of the most loved bands around the world. This band played every show they could all in hopes of getting on warped tour that was their only goal. Then with their break out album Ocean Avenue they became rockstars with songs that the new generation will know forever. Yellowcard's limelight has faded, but they are still kicking out albums like their latest CD Paper Walls, with many more albums to come. Yellowcard is just one example of a Band that paid their dues in the beginning and has stood the test of time.
