Hi there! Well, from a long time ago I've wanted to make a portrait of Remi and I, so I started doodling and ended up with this :) I guess Remi's portrait went better, I have to admit that It took me a good time to get the color combo for his fur! It's been a long time since I didn't draw something on an actual canvas. I consider that making a drawing on canvas is like.. when you are more than sure about it. Well, yesterday I suddenly looked at the sky, and this amazing colors appeared. I got too excited. And ran like Remi when he listens the word food. Got to the roof, and took a million pictures. I just realized how much I love nature, and its capacity of being something more than beautiful. I mean, maybe some others don't even realized what a pretty sunset was at the other side of the window. Sometimes all that technologic stuff takes us apart from these. Almost every time I look at the landscape.. I try to imagine how it would look without all the cables, houses, roads, and cars. (I know some of you may have imagined that too:) But well, it is amazing how after all these things we've done to our home. It is still giving us this kind of gifts.

The solar system.

Hello there! Well, today I got an inspiration attack so, I took some paints, my guitar, and a lovely picture of our solar system.. and things ended up like this! I love music, and playing instruments is a big part of my life, I play the piano since I was 3 years old. (thanks to my dad, who was a great pianist) and know I'm starting to learn how to play the guitar in school, I'm sure I'm not the best, but I'm working on it. These needs a lot of practice and patience. I guess that's why my sister doesn't play any instrument -.-! haha. Hope you all had a great weekend! And try to put your best face for monday D: xoxo. In case you want to do the same with your guitar, using acrylic paints, apply a white base with the shape of the design, then add the colors, and mark the details with black. You can add some varnish for the finishing and you are done (:

DIY deathly hallows shirt

Hello Hello! Well, today I want to share with you a really simple but cute tutorial. I am a Harry Potter lover, so the deathly hallows are one of the coolest things on earth (for me). I've always wanted a shirt like that, but I didn't find any, so I decided to do one by myself! You just need a white shirt, a fabric marker, a pair of rulers and a CD.

1. First start by placing your shirt over a box, so that the marker doesn't bleed to the other side of it. 2. Put the CD in the center. 3. Place the two rulers next to it trying to form a regular rectangle. 4. Mark with a pencil the places were the lines meet, and draw the circle of the CD with the marker. 5. Well, Hello!!!! :D we're back from NY! I mean, not until now, but I had exams and all that stuff and I didn't have time to sit down and start posting properly (: but now I want to tell you a bit about the trip! We went there to celebrate my 15th birthday! (here in mexico it is supposed that at that age a great party should be made) but I don't like to make parties, I prefer going to them XD so we decided that a trip was a better option. We got there and it was cold, really cold! But after some time we got used to it. As you can imagine we went to many shops! Some awesome museums! The Met, the MoMA, and the Natural History Museum, I can't choose a favorite one, everything inside them is more than amazing. Simple braided hairstyle

Hi there!! Today I want to show you a simple and lovely way of styling your hair. You just need a hair clip, a small elastic band, and a pair of pretty braids.

1. Start by braiding one section of your hair, make sure that it covers the back of your head and secure it with the hair clip. 2. Make another braid on the other side and join it with the other one with the elastic band, and you are done! I guess this is a great hairstyle for school, or when you want to go out and there's not a lot of time for getting ready. You can always add a small bow or hair clip to make it look even prettier! Photography - Playing with perspective

Hey there!! It's me.. again (: well, I'm sorry for not updating the blog so regularly, I am learning too much new things at school during these days. (thing that I love!) But I will keep posting maybe not so much but with the same love of always (:

So, my mom, sister, and I went to take some photos last weekend! There was a special exposition of cups, (those little hanging plants) so I wanted to show you the idea I had for the picture, it seemed a bit crazy at the beginning but we loved the result! it all depends on changing the way we see things, and turn them all around (literally!)

This is the first one. At first I had to sort of lye down on the floor and place my legs over de wall of the corridor. It was a bit silly, because everyone was just staring at me.. like "What is she doing?" But I think it definitely worth it. At the end I just had to edit the photo, rotate it and crop the parts of the photo that could ruin the "optic game".

This one is much easier, you just need to lye down and take the picture. The only important thing I would like to say, is that the angle of the wall should be horizontal. Another good idea is to lye down on a place that has no walls, or are very far away.

Taking pictures is so much fun, playing with the angles, and focus definitely gives great results. I just discovered an awesome photographer in YouTube, you can visit his site here (: he does a lot of great things, and also teaches some basic stuff for new photographers!

Anyways, I miss you. I really hope to post during this week (I am starting to play guitar, so I guess I'll do a small video) I also want to make the room tour, that some of you have been asking for. A big hug, Monica

3 ways of styling a bow

Well, so I just got a bow... a little blue bow! And I wanted to show you 3 simple and cute ways of wearing it. I really think that colorful bows make the difference in an outfit, they are the cherry on top. There are lots of other ways to style them. A good idea is to place them on top of a purse, or a belt to change it totally! They are also really easy to make (I think I'll do a small tutorial later:)

1. bellow a high bun.

This is sort of my favorite style. You just need to grab your hair up into a high bun and place the bow. You can also do it with the bow in top of a low bun, it is really easy and cute.

2. On the side.

For this one you need to take your hair to a side and start twisting until you cover all your back, then secure the bow and you are done!

3. On the back as a half ponytail.
You just need to grab all your hair to the back and secure it with the bow, a good tip is trying to separate the top part from the part beneath it, I don't know but my hair is sometimes way too heavy, so this really makes the difference (:

About the new design!

So... I gotta say WELCOME! I've been changing the design so that's why I closed the blog for some time! Sorry, I am in exams, so I thought it would be ready before, but I just couldn't finish before (: Anyways I really hope you like it!! Now you can see bigger pictures on the posts! I also added a small kind of "news board" to let you know about the new things and projects just by stopping by (: I first made this design by hand, with some topic markers and transparent paper.. my first idea was to photocopy them, or something like that. But I couldn't get a good quality, so I better made it on Sketchbook. There are lots of new things around here, I just got a record player (thing that makes me too happy!) I am also starting to play guitar! I actually know how to play piano, but I am just starting with guitars, so I think I'll upload some videos later:3 How have you been? I've been missing you, Remi also! I hope to post more during the weekend.

Sisters

Hey there! Well, yesterday I was drawing a bit and decided to paint some dolls, these ones are like a small portrait of my sister and I, (we are not blond, but I don't have a dark brown marker;) anyways, Angie would be the one on the left, she is really different of me.. we look alike (everyone says so..) but she gets angry faster than me, but she is great making up-dos and any kind of thing that has to be with hair. She also has a different taste in music, she loves 1D and Katy Perry, you know, more like pop. Meanwhile I prefer Hard Rock. We are sisters, and if you have a sister you should know that fights are everyday stuff. We don't fight at all, we just keep on discussing and teasing each other, just as in every family (: but well, I have to admit that without her explosive personality the house would be totally silenced and even boring.. my mom, dad, and I are calmed.. in the sense that we don't make much noise, the noise my small sister normally does. Do you have brothers? :) I don't have a big family, just some cosigns and that's it! Well, I really hope you have a lovely day! xoxo.

Music lovers

Hey there! Well, I just made some little drawings of girls with t-shirts of bands I love, Guns n' Roses.. I just adore Axl Rose and Slash, the bad part is that they aren't together anymore, and Axl changed a lot since the separation happened, anyways their music is just amazing! I think their best song is November rain (: Then, well.. The Rolling Stones!! I love them more than I love food. Their style, and their songs.. I just can't choose a favorite one. Nirvana.. at first I have to say I love the name, it means a way of thinking, relaxed, without worries, something like Hakuna Matata :D hahah, the music is GREAT! I just love Kurt's voice. AC DC, well, this was sort of the first rock band I liked, their music is more than good. (and I mean it:) The Beatles, well.. I can't describe them with words! I am a huge fan of them, sometimes a bit obsessive, but it is all because I love them! Which is your favorite band?

Some calligraphic tips

Okay, so I just wanted to give you some small tips for those who want to learn more about lettering, handwriting, and calligraphy (sorry, I ate one "l" in the photo above:) So here they are...

1. Your pen.

Well, it is really important to have a good pen, sometimes we don't pay too much attention to our tools, but after some time I realized that in some cases it is not ... that if you are not talented, it is more that your working tools are not the appropriated, it all depends on the way you start identifying which are your favorite "weapons" (: Mine, is a 7.0 Fine point, it is pretty good if you like long and thin lines, but it also works perfectly for other types of lettering.

2. Different lettering.
This is another cool fact about this, I have to say I love those photographies that have handwritten quotes on them, but the key for making them special is using different types of lettering, there are SO many inspiring sites about calligraphy, some of my favorites are The notebook doodles and Leah Flores. Just experiment and think of new stuff! (:

3. Decorations (doodles)

So, if you have a great quote.. with an awesome handwriting the cherry on top is normally a doodle, I just love them, they make everything cheerful and fun. A great idea is to complement doodles with your new calligraphy, some speech bubbles... envelopes (: It will make everything look even better!

Okay, so.. IT'S BEEN A WHILE! and let me tell you I've missed you too much (: I missed blogging, making, ad writing! But well, it seems that now I will be able to continue doing what I love and share it with you!:3 I just entered to school two weeks ago, so my world just got a bit messy, now I ordered everything again, my mind and my bedroom! (Well, I just have to make my bed:) I gave Remi a bath yesterday, and ate some cookies with my mom and sister, so everything is bright again. Not just homework! I'll be posting about 2 or 3 times per week(: So that everything fits well with the time and all that stuff. DIY inverted braid

Hi there! Well, today I was just playing with my hair, and came out with.. a new kind of braid? haha I don't know if this is a braid that already existed, but I've never seen it before, so I just decided to call it an "inverted braid" It is pretty simple, and if you like messy stuff you'll love it (: I made a video for you, so it is easier to explain how to do it! Well, I know it has been a while since I dont blog! But I just gotta say.. this Monday I start going to SCHOOL D: nooo! haha, I have to admit I like to learn, but I'm not a huge fan of homework...! I am also going to miss vacations so much. Anyways, I am getting ready with the books, pencils, notebooks, etcetera, etcetera, and it's something I actually enjoy (: There are some new things around here, I just got a pair of pencil shoes from ModCloth, and I have to say I love them! (they actually fit to the conversation theme of above:) I also learned another way of getting remi to look at the camera, I just hold a small piece of cheese and place it above the lens, so he is just thinking of the cheese and I take photos of him!

Today I made a small drawing of Adelle, I really love her, her music, her philosophy! She is the kind of woman I take as an inspiration. I used Acrylics over fabric, it took a while, but I really liked it. (I just got new supplies so I'll be posting new DIYs) Also.. Today Mexico WON our first gold medal! Every one is really really happy right now!! I even made a little poncho for Remi ^_^

Hi there! Well, I just want to introduce you this new member of the family! It is sort of a long story, my mom came home last week, but we were a bit worried because she arrived two hours late! We just saw her opening the car and this lovely Beagle came out of it. She said she was going round and round a small park that is outside my house. So she picked her up, and hours after we gave her a bath and a name (: She is the sweetest dog I've ever met. She just wants to sleep next to you. (just as Remi) We are still taking some time to introduce Remi and Sally, but I'm sure they'll be great friends! I have to say we've got a crush with Sally's eyes. at first she had a small infection, but after some medicines she is all right! Hope you have an awesome day! xo. Monica
