It's been awhile since I've posted some of my Jamicures, so here are all of my most recent ones.

For Halloween I wore the stripes from Spellbound with Glowing Ghouls.

Then I went with an autumn mani with the beautiful Fall Fancy wraps. This wasn't my best application, but I did love the wraps!

My Thanksgiving ensemble consisted of the clear Fall Fever wraps layered over Sparkling Marsala.

And currently, I am wearing Friday Flannel with Santa Suit. I am loving these right now. Plaids and checks are some of my favorite patterns, so I'm excited that it's the hot trend right now!

Hello all! I just have a few Jamberry things I wanted to share. First of all, check out my current Jamicure. I think this may be my most favorite of all of the ones I've done.

Jamicure of the Week: Whisper over Turple Ombre (retired)

I just had to take a moment to share with you all, my nails of the week!

This is by far one of my most favorite ones yet. I layered the Whisper wrap over a retired wrap called Turple Ombre. The Turple Ombre was brought back a couple of weeks ago during a promotion called Throwback Thursday where Jamberry brings back two retired designs. This week, August 20-24, Jamberry will bring back their final Throwback Thursday pair. Make sure you stay updated by following me on my Facebook page.

Back to School with Jamberry

I'm not sure if I have mentioned it yet, but I have been a Jamberry consultant for a few months now. If you are unfamiliar with Jamberry, check out my website here or my Jamberry Facebook page.

Now let's talk Back to School...or kids this means new clothes, backpacks, and school supplies, for adults this means the chance for a fresh start. Set goals and create new habits to lead to a better you this fall. To get in the school spirit, we've picked out some of our favorite wraps for whatever stage you might be in.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Send your little ones back to school with Jamberry Juniors. We suggest "ABC123," "Boardwalk", or "Cake Pops".

MIDDLE SCHOOL: What are your kids involved in during the school year? Let them show of their passion with some Jamberry wraps. We've got designs for whatever they're into..."Hot Pink Volleyballs", "Sheet Music", and "Cheerleaders" are some of my favorites.

HIGH SCHOOL: Help your kids show off their school pride by mixing their school colors for a fun mixed-mani look! Or even better, work together to help them create their own in the Nail Art Studio!

Some updates on life, a new business venture, and an auction for a great cause!

Hello everyone! Lots of new things have been going on since I last talked to you all. I still have my little crochet business, Kristin's Kreations as well as my Etsy shop. I've been neglecting it just a bit, though, because at the moment I have been the only parent in the household. My husband enlisted in the North Carolina Army National Guard last August and left for basic training/AIT back in January. The kids and I have missed him so much but we are extremely proud of him...we can't wait until his June graduation!

As many of you know I have five children. My youngest will be four in July. When he was 18 months old I noticed that he wasn't saying as many words and wasn't putting together the little 2-3 word phrases that most kids do by that age. After talking to my husband and several friends about it, I just chalked it up to "he's a boy and will talk when he's ready". Then my little Bentley turned two and was saying even fewer words. I guess I was in denial that anything may be wrong when my husband and I would say "Einstein didn't talk until he was four". It was a little bit after Bentley's third birthday that I found out our school system offered evaluations for their early intervention program. We were finally able to get my little guy tested and observed and just last month we received the diagnosis of him being mild-to-moderately autistic. For the last year I sort of guessed that this was what was going on after reading up on autism, so when we got the Dx, I was not completely devastated. I did get a little upset at initially hearing the words "Bentley has autism", but I was actually relieved that we now had a reason why he wasn't speaking. No matter how much I've read to him and talked to him, I was starting to doubt my abilities as a parent when it comes to teaching my child basic things. I know that autism isn't the worst thing that my son could have and I am facing this as a new adventure in life. I am glad that we now have a plan and have our son on the right track to be able to learn to speak and understand simple things that he was having a difficult time with . He will be in preschool 3 hours each day with speech therapy 3 days a week.

And now for my next announcement...in addition to my crochet business, I have decided to try selling Jamberry! Nail Color Comparison: Blue that's almost black

Well hello, strangers! It's been awhile since I posted. I was going through my nail polish collection the other day, trying to find something Christmas-y to wear, when I realized that I have a lot of colors that look very similar in the bottles. Over the next few weeks, I want to do some color comparisons for all of you. None of these polishes are new colors, and some of them may have already been compared on other blogs. Hopefully you will find some of mine useful.

Today we are going to compare some very dark blue polishes. My selections for this comparison are After School Boy Blazer by Essie, Lola by Julep, Incognito in Sausalito by OPI, and Laughie Taffy by Sally Hansen.

Looking at these polishes in the bottle, they all look almost identical, except for the Sally Hansen color, which tends to be a tiny bit purple-ish...not much, but just a hint. Let's see how they look on the nails. I would have used my own, but that would have been difficult with a super active 3-year-old, so I used these handy dandy nail wheels.

I did my best to capture these on camera as true-to-life color that I could. After one coat, notice that the Essie and Julep colors are almost identical. The finish is the only difference considering the Julep polish is part of their Satin Finish collection. The OPI color has the very slightest of teal undertones and the Sally Hansen colors is a bit lighter and is, of course, textured. The first 3 polishes could almost be one-coaters. There is the slightest bit of streaking from the Essie and OPI colors, but it's barely noticeable.

After two coats, the first 3 polishes are almost identical. They are super dark and the only way I can tell they are blue, is in natural sunlight. The Sally Hansen color is a lot darker after two coats, but still not as dark as the others.

Overall, I love all of these. The formulas were great on all 4. Even the textured polish went on very smoothly. As seen in the photo, the Essie and the OPI colors are glossy finishes, while the Julep has a really nice Satin Finish and the Sally Hansen has a fine textured feel to it.

Today I completed Segment 3 of the Mystery Craft-a-long with Melody's Makings. I apologize for the pictures being a bit blurry, but it's late here and I didn't want to turn a lot of lights on, but you get the idea. Anyone want to take a guess at what we're making? Mystery CAL with Melody's Makings: Segments 1 & 2

Crochet & knit pattern designer Melody's Makings has brought us another great crochet-along (CAL). This project also has a knit-along version (KAL), too. Since I only know how to crochet I am doing the CAL and have decided to make two of whatever this project is going to be and have chosen to make the newborn size.. So far here is my progress.
