Another in my Famous Strangers project of people who are not the famous person but share the name. This is the artist Paul Newman whom I have photographed a few times at his shows.

When I was photographing people for the 100 Strangers project I found some of my models had famous names: Richard Burton, Paul Newman etc and I remembered one of my lecturers at Uni introduced himself as The Real Richard Burton the other is an imposter because Richard Burton the actor’s real name was Jenkins.

I parked behind a car that had the boot open and all I could see in the shadows was these eyes I asked the owner if I could photograph her dog but by then it had moved a little bit and you could make out more than just the eyes and there was no way we could move it into position to get that original effect. I got the owners email address but I can’t find it now

Esther And The Ladies That Cycle - Photo a Day Project

Today it was a leisurely ride for the girls as they went to the Blue Bell pub in Earlswood for their Christmas meal and on the way through the leafy country lanes Esther, of course, found me a very nice burnt out car, she has found me many because cyclists tend to take shortcuts up paths and over parkland were most of the cars are torched.

Once at the pub Esther contacted me through WhatsApp with a location map and a couple of images, naturally others in the group were intrigued by her reason to contact me and then my fascination with dumped burnt out cars. I’m hoping the others in the group will be become fully signed up members of my car scouting network.

1) This could be competitive.
2) Coming back from the pub I wonder what’s in those water bottles

Last Snow To Fall In Yardley Wood - Photo a Day Project

With the effects of Global Warming, I have this mission to photograph the last snow to fall where I live in Yardley Wood, Birmingham. And here it is.

Previous Last Snow etc photographs have created a debate about the effects of Global Warming but without a doubt, something is going on as the last time we had a snowfall that didn’t melt before 10am was 6 years ago, I have the photos to prove it.

I took a few more shots in the snow to add to everybody’s social media output but this was one of the few within the small boundaries of Yardley Wood.

I have visited Stoneleigh Abbey on many occasions (in fact a week ago) but there has never been a match on, I know it was a beautiful sunshine and blue sky day but isn’t this one of the best places to watch cricket complete with Stoneleigh Abbey backing onto the ground no wonder it was voted by Wisden Cricketer the most beautiful ground in England in 2003
