Requirements:

Cod Game with Game patch 1.7 Get it Here
Cod4 multiplayer with a keycode. Get it Here...tutorial is Here (follow steps 3 and 4)

1. Download the xfire client. Install xfire. Create an account and run xfire.

2. If Xfire automatically scans the game go to Step 7. Otherwise Open Tools > Games (wait for the useless Game Scanning) > Games > Choose the "Not Installed" list.

3. Choose "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Multiplayer and open the Dropdown menu (figure 5.) and choose manual detect.

4. Select Browse (not highlighted)

5.Navigate through the native game path.

Pathname : C:\Call Of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe

(on some cases like mine it is installed to a different path like G:\Call of Duty 4 .... Just select he iw3mp.exe file.

6. Make sure they are correctly selected. Press "apply".

7. Click the "servers" Icon shown below and click the "call of duty 4 tab as shown. Select "Refresh Server List" and select a server of your choice. Play.

(cracked servers might or might not be there) Get to the next step if you are using a "trial version"

(optional) 8. Open the pull-out menu and search for keywords like crack and Play... That's all there is to it. Enjoy.

Multiplayer Keycode for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Here are the keys for playing multiplayer on Call of Duty 4. Here's the catch:

You can't play over legit servers. Only cracked or hacked servers. (You can play this over Garena and/or Xfire or any other cracked server.
There may be prominence of Hackers and will likely ruin your gameplay. Most open servers don't have punkbuster enabled.

Aim at your best with Sensitivity Tweak

Playing Cod4 for the first time can be really a hit or miss affair. In the long run, you will notice that you will likely have issues with aiming. In this part, we will talk about Sensitivity tweak for the game.

Sensitivity is defined as how fast the crosshair moves on your screen, or in hardcore, how fast your mouse look /aim will be.

The default value for the sensitivity in Call of Duty 4 is "5" , this can have a lot of trouble with most players with bad hands and somewhat delayed reflexes. What you are going to do is lower it to make your hand and eye corrdination be in sync with what you are doing.

Mostly you can never have to follow an enemy with high sensitivity as it will moreover move faster than the target.

Here are the General Rules of the Thumb

Non-scoped Weapons:

5= Default (fast enough for Melee players but your aim will suck on long range

4= Lessened (this is for Pros that want fast enough mouse look but never recommended for beginners)

3= Moderate mix of good handling and mouse look

2= Best for Sniping (you can now sway the crosshair on a line easily

1=slowest of them all (this is for completely nervous people with unwanted muscle reflexes)

For Sniper Rifles, it is a different story. To be accurate, you need to dramatically lower your sensitivity. Thanks for the comments guys. I have actually been better with less sensitivity for scoped weapons. Here are some recommended values.

3= Good Sway but a little hard to adjust your aim to the target.

1= Great start for lowering your sensitivity. The M40 sniper rifle (default) can now hit targets over the end of the sniping areas over crossfire.

Below 1= It is up to you to decide on this. The accuracy is impeccable but you can never get to look at your side easily.

A good thing to add is bind your keys to lower sensitivity while on your sniper rifle. Just bind it over your f9 and f10. Just type in the console \bind f9 sensitivity 1 and so on...

The best option is to go for "2" as it has all the mix for higher accuracy and everything you need.

How to change the sensitivity:

During gameplay, press the tilde key "~" (below the esc button) and type in sensitivity "x" , press tab and enter.

Note: Modern Warfare 2 doesn't have any console to type in. Instead just change the mounse sensitivity on to the options menu.

Where do I download Call of Duty 4 for the PC or Xbox 360?

You need to purchase the game of course. Or if you have already bought the game, you can download it over torrent sites like mininova.org or piratebay.org for backup purposes hehe, just use the keycode of your legal copy and you’ll be fine.

What are torrents and how do you use them?

Just go over www.utorrent.com and download the client. Next up is go over a popular torrent listing site such as www.mininova.org and search for call of duty 4 pc. Next is to sift the list by clicking the seeders on top of the search results to get the best possible torrent for download.

Here are the simplified Instructions to get your copy of Call of Duty 4.

1.Download Uttorent (less than 1mb in size)
2.Go to Mininova.org and search for call of duty 4 pc and strain results by clicking on the Seeders button on top of the results page.

Best Loadout for A Hardcore TDM for COD4

In all of my playing time within the game, Hardcore TDM is by far the best and only thing that gets my blood boiling. The kills are endless if you compare it to other gametypes. Let us get onto business shall we?

Hardcore matches are really noticeable for 2 major things; No Hud and Less Health.

This means you can easily pawn players that rely too much on the hud for everything they need. I usually don't even bother to take a look at it even on non-HC. You don't even need to look at how many bullets are onto the mag, you just need to reload every 2 kills or so (on a 30 round mag).

Also, less health means you only get 30 percent of health. Yes that's right, the game usually gives you 100 health. This means more pawnage from crybaby veteran players that can't rush because they forgot they only have little health and barraging with their p90's.

Okay, mudslinging aside, here are my recommended HC TDM loadouts for eveybody.

Staple: as mentioned in my other post

1 grenade
1 stun
m9 -first pistol

RDS - best aim
Stopping Power - Less bullets, more kills
Deep Impact - Got wall, no problem!

Why, you ask?

Forget about the 3 grenades, they are for wimps that spam to nothingness especially in the Killhouse map. You'll only need one, don't rely on it because it actually needs 5 eons of seconds to be effective. 5 seconds in a multiplayer game is a frag lost. Try to cook them if you really want to be effective and know the spots to throw especially when the UAV is on.

Stuns are better period. *u** the rest. They explode upon ground impact. Comapred to others, flash needs a couple of seconds to detonate = death. Smoke is also more of a nuisance than anything you could imagine. Ditch the cover effect because COD4 maps are so small and you can always guess where the enemies are, if you die often in the open field, chances are you haven't mastered the map yet, the usual sniper and camping spots are so obvious you don't even have to aim too hard.

Using the m9 is a bliss. It has 40 damage across the board (same with other guns besides D eagle @ 50 damage). Get this because you have 16 bullets to spare. This is also complimentary to the mp5 bullets because they use up the same. Also, you need to learn how to push the mouse button faster because the gun literally is only as fast as your clicks are.

Now for the main event. Here are my recommended Slaughter Weapons. Suitable for the intermediate to advanced players only. If you only are a beginner. Start with "spray and pray" weapons limited to you. The mp5 is a lvl 1 weapon which you can use at short 4 bullet bursts. But anyway, we don't want to make an article for the best loadouts for nothing, lets get it on.

First that you can get your hands on is the m16, this beast looks ugly with the default grenade launcher attachment. But once you remove them, you'll be aiming at your best with this gun. No compromises, all kills even in non-hc mode.

Next is the RPD. This killing machine is at its best with the grip attachment. Don't worry about losing the first perk because this is well enough for your enemies butt to become into pulp. It has incredicle accuracy with just a slight movement speed decrease. It has the same kind of bullets from the AK but they don't mix bullets due to the latter is in a magazine type compared to the RPD with a barrel mag.

The others are good but not that good with compared to these two babies. They are desined to kill but not look good, but it kills better anyway.

So we're you thinking about other perks? You can use them for other gametypes. Clay is better onto different tactics which I'll get on my future posts.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Reflex for the Wii

In a twist of selecting two developers for a game series, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is now being developed by the makers of World at War. Treyarch is now working COD4 for the Wii. Although even with hardware limitations, the game can still be presented with its good storyline.

In my opinion, as long as they keep the game intact like their PC and Xbox360 counterparts, everybody could be happy.

But the name has been altered to Modern Warfare: Reflex to suit the title for the particular console. The ever late title will give hope for fellow Wii gamers to get some FPS action.

It may be a fresh start for Treyarch to finally cave-out of the old WWII theme for their own good. They are rumored to develop yet another oldie COD game with Vietnamese theme; at least Activision gave them a chance to do a modern title.

However, let us not forget Infinity Ward is still the king of making a good Call of Duty Game. The game will be out in November 10, 2009; the same date as MW2 releases.

Mmmm. Check and zoom out the ugly pixilated screens… It feels like the PS2 days all over again, that’s what you get when you reuse an outdated graphics engine for what is supposed to be the best multiplayer FPS of all time, at least in the PC, Xbox360 and PS3 anyway.

Here is my Multiplayer Primer to getting better kill/death ratios for your entire cod4 playing spree. It has some useful information to give you an edge over guns, perks and other tactics. The article also tackles about gametype and practice.

Hardcore All the way

I think it has boiled down to discussions in the gaming forums of what gametype they want on their multiplayer especially on known servers out there. In my opinion, Hardcore is better and here are my reasons why. with a limited ammo per clip, it is crucial to kill with less bullets. Although most self-proclaimed-expert-players don't agree with this because they want Non-Hardcore, it is in my humble opinion is only for their advantage. ie.. not dying by a couple bullets and still rushing like mad onto a swarm of enemy. They get annoyed a lot with this, use HC at your own advantage and read on...

Camping is bad when you stay at it for too long. Objective camping is the way to go. It is where you camp and get cover, stay on it for a while until enemies are gunned down and proceed to another area, 2-3 kills is enough to warrant another place to camp although objectively.

Objective camping is highly recommended. These are the words coming from my mouth or my thoughts. Don't run around without covering even for short distances. Also, always assume the enemy is hidden, aim at the usual hiding spots even though there aren't you'll have the upper hand even if they peek. Also, assume their target position, think ahead, if they are always stopping on that spot, get ahead and aim it there.

Also within weapon usage

I have always been firm on weapon types. The more accurate, the better. Never rely on its recoil to accidentally hit your target. Always aim at it in the quickest way. I would recommend an m16 for its pin-point accuracy and its raw damage,

The G3 for with great accuracy and always resetting to its level shot after shot, The default sniper rifle for less idle sway and of course accuracy.

The RPD is also a mass-murdering weapon that is optimized for accuracy with the help of a grip attachment, learn all of these weapons and you can get a better kill/death ratio.

M4 is also good for a good spraying power with less recoil.

To get a better aim, always stray away from weapons such as the p90 as the next shot within ten meters of an opponent will likely hit or miss. Albeit 50 rounds, precision weapons still wins over bullet capacity any day.

With Perks

My staple loadout is...

Stun Grenade - faster throw animation than Flashbang.

M9- Highest bullet capacity (note that all have 40 damage except D. Eagle for 50 but less bullets)

Bandolier - 6 reloads is crucial, get this asap because you will need to gun down many foes.

Stopping Power - The potential of killing with just a single bulllet is good enough for this to be used.

Deep Impact - Expect a higher kill score with this, especially with newcomers peeking at windows.

Red Dot Sight- Always an addition to make precise shots, otherwise settle for the default Iron Sights on the RPD due to the Grip attachment tradeoff.

Practice

Load a killhouse map and try it out hitting those camera's. Always remember to aim your middle screen to the target to eliminate looking for it, this will drastically cut time when right clicking and sweeping the mouse to search for the target.

Next up is to target those lights one by one until your clip is emptied, you will notice a better accuracy with the guns I have mentioned earlier.

Mouse and Mousepad

The preferred mousepad is optical type with a higher DPI and a black cloth mousepad, these are the bare minimum. Never settle for a mouse with a mouseball and a blue mousepad. All the required items can be bought on CDR King (like the ones' I use) for less than 130 Phil.Pesos or roughly 3 USD (yes that's three dollars).

Graphics Settings

60 Frames Per Second flat is always better, Just read on my guide here on blogspot to gauge your frames per second. If you can't achieve this, just download my graphics tweak to get up to 200 frames per second even on crappy video cards. You can choose to follow these philosophy in playing but it all depends entirely up to you.

These are the proven and recommended way to kill enemies with less trouble. Today, even if I haven't really played for a while due to the Monster Hunter Freedom Unite frenzy, I will still play anytime soon.

7. Can i still play in 1.0 when I install 1.7 patch? How do I install it?

Sure you can. Although you must backup the main cod4 folder so that it will serve you the 1.0 version. Here is the guide to doing both.

8. How do i create my own cod4 server?

Just create your game on the main cod4 menu. Click Here for the quick guide.

9. How about a dedicated cod4 server?

You can do that too on the main guide. But there is a different way to input commands.

10. Cod4 Dedicated server commands?

Although you need to replace the instructions with a variable like “set”. For example, if you want to reduce the respawn time which is normally typed as /scr_war_playerrespawndelay 1, you will just type in set scr_war_playerrespawndelay 1. The command sets are all the same except other commands such as disconnect and other commands not related to game variables.

11. How about a fun mode and cheats enabled?

On a normal server just type in /devmap mp_shipment . Just change the map to backlot, killhouse or whatever map you want.

12. When i try to join user servers in Garena, some or most of them have pings higher than 300, can i still join the fun?

Sure you can, try to ask the host their username in gg and tunnel them, heres’ how. Or you can politely ask them to tunnel you on the garena room.

13. I’m suspecting a cheater in the server, how do i catch him/her?

Unfortunately, you have a slim chance of spotting the cheats. However no recoil will show up on spectate mode. You can record a demo and see if they are actually using the cheat and have proof of it.

Type in \record on the console. Then end it with \stoprecord.

Politely ask the host to type in \status and see his ip, use it and look for his username in GG to make sure you won’t play with them again.

Play the demo again by getting the demo file on the modern warfare> main folder and put it on the modwarfare folder. Open cod4 and run the modwarfare mod and type on the console \demo demo.0001. or whatever you named the demo after.

Note: You can then record the demo with fraps too, giving you freedom to save the demo and record it later.

My frame rate is really slow, how can i get this to a playable level?

There are three possible solutions for that.

Tweak your Graphics settings

Upgrade your Hardware

Upgrading your hardware will likely be the easiest solution of the bunch. This might be a good step for begineers if they are planning to buy a new PC. I would recommend the following

Cpu: Any core2duo processor over 2.8ghz 5kPhp (roughly 110usd)

Video Card: Ati 4770 5kPhp

Ram: 4gb Team Elite 2.3kPhp (50usd)

Motherboard: Any P35 or above overclockable boards (Asus, Gigabyte etc.) 4k (roughly 80usd)

PSU: Hec winpower 3kPhp (roughly 70us)

Case: Crappiest one you can find

Monitor: Any 19 inch LCD monitor of your choice or bigger but you need better specs.

Those will likely run the game at breakneck speeds. They are all recommended and have the bang for the buck value in purchasing new hardware as of this time of writing.

Overclock your Hardware

The most crucial part here is the Motherboard. If you can’t overclock your processor, then you are screwed. Here are some sites that can help you OC your hardware to get free computing power.

The Video card can be overclocked better via Rivatuner. You can just download it via their site. Although it only supports XP and Vista, you won’t get it to run under Windows 7 yet.

Downgrade your Graphics Settings

You can start off by turning off the shadows, glow, specular map, water detail, number of dynamic lights, vertical sync, soften smoke edges.

But if you still have stutters and low frames, download this config and it will surely give you a lot of speed boost but it will look like shi* , just try this out as your last resort. Add more details to your settings if you think your system can handle it. Oh and if you still want to get more speed, lower the sound quality to 11k, you have now a game boy sound on your COD4. Enjoy...

Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer profiles usually gets corrupted once you have changed the OS or transferred your files to a new computer. This can be used to still preserve you profile, ranks and challenges, your beloved red tigers and bling bling weapons.

First, copy your Keycode. Then get your profile files in these location:

The following are where the save files (single player), stats (multiplayer) are located.

For Windows XP:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\"your profile name"

For Windows Vista:

C:\Users\"your vista account name"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\"your profile name"

Get the Folder of your Profile name and not only the files inside, put it on a safe place first.
start COD4 multiplayer create a profile with the same name as your previous/backed-up profile,
Play a few rounds for the game to make your profile.
Exit COD4 multiplayer then now you can copy the previous/backed-up profile over the newly created one.

Latency/Ping Guide

Ping is what’s described as latency. In an online first person shooter game, it will likely give you an advantage over the battlefield. Notice that if you have a 400+ ping, you can likely be pumping lead to your enemies dead on but wont hit and getting you killed instead by the lower pinged player.

The process is calculated as 1000/th of a second. So a 999 ping in Call of Duty 4 or any other online game will likely get you a half second delay until the server recognizes you have fired a shot and half a second again until the server broadcasts to you that you have fired a shot. Most even only have a 999 threshold on pings so you will likely be lagging more than a second. In short, ping is the round trip time of the packets of data used in gaming.

"The average blinking time of the eye is 1/10th of a second which translates to 100ping as comparable ingame."

Your ISP is the first thing to check if other players on the game will be compatible. In the Philippines, Bayantel and PLDT are incompatible like oil to water. I have a Bayantel connection and even if the server is just 50 miles away, I get 800+ ping… no thanks.

Here is a guide to know what your hit ratio will be with your approximate ping:

Below 50 > You get great hit ratio
Below 100 > You still get a great hit ratio.
120-140 > You won’t hit a running opponent sometime
170-240+ > Horrible lag, stutter, and teleporting just disconnect and look for another server

There are also hardware limitations in which it can induce lag (onscreen) on servers like:

Low system specs and hosting more than a host can handle *ie. a 32 player server + a host getting over 70+ ping… a sign of his system getting choked because his system can’t handle it.
Low system specs and alt tabbing
Spamming the smoke grenade

How to troubleshoot to limiting Lag overall:

Set your preferred graphic settings, create a game over Shipment, take note of your starting ping, look up the sky, if your ping is dramatically lowered, you can tweak it to your hearts' content to get the "sweet spot".
Open the Lagometer and FPS counter. Type in cg_drawlagometer 1 and cg_drawfps 1 for gauging purposes.

Some can be remedied by:

Tunneling
Lowering graphic settings including sound *Guide HERE
Restart or Get new hardware or new connection as a last resort

If you want to lower your ping with tunneling, you can do so HERE. But only on Garena, otherwise, you may want to buy a tunnel client that will cost more

If you want to get a better hit register, you can follow the Bash and Slash guide although I haven’t tried it but it may as well give you an edge over your gaming.

So the next time another player says “Lag… Log… Who joined last? …” you might know what goes around and probably solve the problem.

Pezbots : Practice your aim and serves as an alternative to hacking

If you are itching to get back on another player in cod4, you might as well practice first. Pezbots are a great alternative to hacking. This can be a great alternative in downloading aimbots and hacks or whatsoever. A good plus is that all other players especially on Garena that joins your mod can have their copy of the mod too.

You can train yourself with as many bots depending how much your computer can handle it. Just download the mod and put it on your mods folder inside your cod4 installation directory. After you have created your server, choose your team but don’t choose a gun yet, then just type in

\Svr_pezbots 10

and you’re all good to go. Feel free to toggle the number of bots as you wish.

Note: Most of the time, the next map that loads will likely screw up the bots, well, most of the time, a restart is the only resort so make sure the matches are longer so you won’t get the hassle of repeating the process.

Of course, don't dream about making the bots work after a round. Disconnect and repeat the process all over again in a new map if you want to.

Installation................................................................................

1. Extract into your COD4 MW mods folder.
2. Load through ingame mods menu or put '+set fs_game "mods/PeZBOT"' in your iw3mp.exe command line.
3. Set DVARS either through console or commandline;
/set (in console).
or
+set (on commandline).

DVARS are as follows;

svr_pezbots //number of bots; (defaults to 0)
svr_pezbots_team //team to put bots on, "axis", "allies", "autoassign"; (defaults to "autoassign")
svr_pezbots_drawdebug //draws bot debug info; 0 or 1; (defaults to 0) (requires developer_script set to 1)
svr_pezbots_dogpack_size //number of dogs spawned when using uav (defaults to 0)
svr_pezbots_skill //global skill level that effects all bots, value between 0 and 1, 1 being highest
//0 being lowest. (defaults to 0.5).
svr_pezbots_mode //sets the mode to start the mod in, options are "dev" and "normal" (defaults to normal)
//(requires developer_script set to 1 and developer set to 1)
svr_pezbots_WPDrawRange //waypoint debug draw range (defaults to 1000 inches).

An example command line would be:

Garena: Improve your Ping on User Servers with Tunneling

This feature is used for lowering the ping of clients or hosts on garena games. Even with other ISP networks, you can definitely lower the latency between you and the host.

Simply right click on a user and select “tunnel” , It will look for the shortest possible route for the data to be transmitted and vice-versa.

Now you can refersh the server list and see the ping lowered dramatically. This often works but sometimes you need a Garena client restart or a PC restart. But sometimes nothing works because there are other players already playing and tunneling isn’t usable.

How to create a server in COD4 Garena

Open COD 4 via the “START GAME” button in the Garena Room. If you haven't configured your executable settings for COD4 Click Here.

Click on "Start new server" .

In the Game Mode: Either pick Team Deathmatch or Free-for-all

In most circumstances, only limit Maximum Players to 10-16 only. This can usually lead to lag once there are many players.

Click on Game Mode Settings and Adjust if you want Hardcore mode or not.

Hardcore mode: Disabled -

You get a hud or the Heads up Display showing the amount of ammo you have, the experience ruler on the bottom showing your level up progress. C4, RPG, Nightvision, Claymore, Grenade and other things.

Weapons have standard damage.

Hardcore mode - Every icon onscreen is turned off, all weapons are deadlier, you can kill almost with just 1-2 bullets at most of the time. This is recommended for experienced gamers.

Disable FriendlyFire. This can always lead to quarrels over teammates. At most times, put this off.

Start the server and Once the Map is loaded. Press the tilde button ( ~ ) below the ESC key on the keyboard to open the Console. This is to reduce the respawn time once a player dies.

Type in:

For TeamDeathMatch: \scr_war_playerrespawndelay 1

For Free-for-all: \scr_dm_playerrespawndelay 1

Play 1.0 and 1.7 versions of COD4 in Garena

Install COD 4 First

Copy the whole cod4 folder to another location ie: Drive D: or any other location. Update ONLY the Original Cod4 Folder with these files.

Update 1.6

Update 1.7

Note: you need both of them to upgrade to 1.7. I would suggest you download it at night time or off peak hours because update 1.6 takes 282+mb to download.

Once installed, you need an updated punkbuster to play on the Official Server List on Garena. Skip this step if you just want to play on user created rooms without punkbuster.

Download Punkbuster update

Once downloaded, run the installer and choose Call of duty 4 and locate the 1.7 installation folder. It will then update the latest version of punkbuster. There are detailed instructions on the site so you won't worry about it.

Note: you will see a task manager process such as PnkBstrA.exe and B, this is normal.

Locate both the multiplayer versions of the game and make a shortcut for it. Rename the shortcuts 1.0 and 1.7 respectively.

Put it on a single folder to the location of your choice. You can now choose the version of your choice and easily swap between them in the “settings” menu in the main Garena room.

Play COD 4 Multiplayer in Garena

Get the Garena Plus installer Here...

1.Once you get to your desired room, you can then edit the settings parameter for Launching COD 4 in conjunction with Garena. Click on Settings > Browse and find the executable multiplayer for COD.

2. Locate the iw3mp file from your COD4 installation folder (usually in Program Files > Modern Warfare)

3. On the Garena room, hit start game and the game will launch and choose your profile. First time users of COD 4 Multiplayer needs to edit their Key Code. Punch it in on options > multiplayer options > enter keycode

4. You will probably wonder where to get these keys. You can get it HERE. Next up is to join a server, usually during peak hours there are many user rooms for you to join in. Click on Join Game > click the Source tab and it will change to Local, you can then join the hosted game of your choice.

Note: Make sure you join user rooms with pings lower than 150 or you will get raped especially by veteran players. You cannot join internet servers unless you paid for the game and have a legit key code.
