Should You Stay on the Disney Skyliner?

Disney’s Skyliner is a free gondola system connecting several resorts and two of the Disney theme parks, Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and we love staying at a Skyliner Resort for many reasons. There are pros and cons, of course. Let's check them out!

Starting off at Disney’s Riviera, this resort features a station with direct access to the World Showcase entrance of Epcot as well as the Boardwalk area and the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. In the other direction, passing through the hub next door at Caribbean Beach Resort allows for access to the front entrance of Hollywood Studios in minutes. Other resorts with Skyliner stations include Art of Animation and Pop Century, which in my opinion raises the value of these Value Resorts above the All Stars. The ability to get to so many resort areas for dining is a bonus too.

The continuous cycle of Skyliner gondolas means the line moves almost continuously as well. The gondolas are also designed with popular Disney characters and attraction themeing which makes guessing which one you'll get a fun little bonus.

Pros:

Since the 11 mile-per-hour pace of the Skyliner Gondolas is quick, you'll save a lot of time waiting for and riding buses.
The Skyliner station in Epcot takes you to the back of the park if you want a direct route to the World Showcase.
They are stroller-friendly (no folding or removing babies needed) and great for ECVs and guests with mobility issues.

Cons:

Stops for lightning or high winds, which are common in Florida.
Gondolas are breezy but not air-conditioned, which can be warm in summer.
The rain often drips into the Skyliner, which can cause you to occasionally get wet or feel the wind.
There could be long lines to board first thing in the morning before early entry, and after fireworks at Epcot

While I love the proximity to the Magic Kingdom that the monorail resorts offer, you can’t overlook the convenience and fun of being on the Skyliner route. Many of the WDW resorts only offer bus transportation. The Skyliner is definitely a great amenity. Plus, if your budget doesn’t allow for Monorail Resort accommodations, now worries- every resort price category is covered here, meaning there is something for everyone on the Skyliner.

Tips: Typically, they put one family per gondola, but at the end of the night at Epcot and Hollywood Studios, there may be a wait to board, and they will put multiple parties in one. There is an emergency kit under the seat if needed. The gondolas without characters on them give a clearer view of the WDW property. No open food or drinks will be allowed on, and they will ask you to throw them away before boarding.

Why We Love Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation, which brings guests into the worlds of Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid to life, is the most "DISNEY' of all the resorts! This is the one resort where you'll see the most character and movie references throughout, including the rooms. This is just one of the reasons we love AOA so much!

From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that this resort was designed to immerse guests in the worlds of Disney and Pixar animation. We love the bold theming, spacious accommodations, and value without feeling “budget,” this resort delivers.

Your stay begins in Animation Hall, home to check-in and concierge services. We love that the lobby has vibrant colors, oversized character sketches, and a nod to the creative process behind Disney animation. Along the length of the check-in area is a wall displaying storyboard sketches actually used in Disney films.

Check out the iconic Storyboard Chandelier, suspended beneath a skylight and filled with storyboard sketches from the four films represented at the resort. It’s one of those details people walk past without realizing how special it is and one of the sketches is even signed by Pixar’s John Lasseter, making it a must-see for us!

Before entering The Ink & Paint Shop, you see a wall of authentic animation cells used in Disney movies. The colors, scenes, and characters create a visually stunning display. Inside the shop, you’ll find resort-exclusive merchandise, along with pins, ears, apparel, toys, and everyday essentials like toiletries and medicine. We love this gift shop because the products feature lots of well-loved characters!!

Also located in Animation Hall are Pixel Play Arcade, Landscape of Flavors, and the first-ever business center at a Disney value resort.

After passing through the Ink & Paint Shop, you enter Landscape of Flavors, which we think is one of the best-designed food courts among Disney value resorts. The space feels open with walls decorated in background scenes from Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. Four themed chandeliers hang overhead, each representing one of those films. I find this convenient to tell your family where you're sitting, "let's sit in the Cars area."

Art of Animation is divided into four themed sections: Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.

We absolutely love the Finding Nemo, Cars, and Lion King areas which feature 1,120 family suites. The Little Mermaid section includes 864 standard rooms. The Nemo area is considered preferred for it's central location and pool. The Cars area also has a pool. The Lion King area does not.

The family suites are where this resort truly shines. Each suite includes:

A master bedroom with a queen bed
Two full bathrooms
A living area with a sleeper sofa
A kitchenette with microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker
A dining table that folds down into an additional bed

With three separate sleeping spaces, the suites comfortably sleep up to six guests. We think these suites are one of the best on-property options for families who want space without upgrading to a deluxe resort.

The Little Mermaid standard rooms feature two beds and sleep up to four guests. While they’re slightly farther from Animation Hall and the Skyliner, we adore the theming because it is charming and nostalgic, especially for fans of the classic film, like us! The have 2 queen beds and 1 bathroom. There are outside entry doors here, unlike at the buildings that house the suites, which are interior hallways. The 3 buildings here are Ariel, King Triton and Ursula.

Each section of the resort has its own themed courtyard, and the scale of the theming is impressive. In The Little Mermaid area, guests can relax at the Flippin’ Fins Pool. Over in the Lion King section, kids can explore the Bone Yard Playground, surrounded by scenes straight out of the movie. The Cars section feels like walking directly into Radiator Springs, complete with Tow Mater and friends, and the Cozy Cone Pool is a fun place to cool off after park days.

The crown jewel, however, is The Big Blue Pool in the Finding Nemo courtyard. This zero-entry pool is the largest pool at Walt Disney World, holding 310,000 gallons of water. In true Disney fashion, the details go above and beyond: guests can hear music underwater, along with Mr. Ray giving science lessons and Dory making her iconic whale sounds. Younger guests will love The Schoolyard splash area and Squirt’s Righteous Reef Playground, while adults can unwind nearby at The Drop Off Pool Bar.

For added safety and exclusivity, pool and water play area access requires a room key, MagicBand, or phone, the same system used for entering the family suite buildings with interior hallways.

One of the biggest perks of staying at Art of Animation is Skyliner access. The Disney Skyliner station is located between Art of Animation and Pop Century, providing quick, scenic transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. For families with strollers or guests who want to avoid folding and unloading on buses, the Skyliner is a game changer.

Bus transportation is also available to all other parks and Disney Springs, but having Skyliner access alone gives Art of Animation a major advantage over the All Stars value resorts. Across the lake, and connected by a bridge is Pop Century resort.

Why We Keep Recommending Art of Animation

Officially, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is classified as a Value Resort, but many guests — myself included consider it a “Value Plus.” The theming is exciting, the family suites are some of the most practical accommodations on property, and the overall experience feels elevated well beyond the price point.

This resort truly offers something for everyone: kids who love immersive play spaces, parents who want convenience and space, and Disney fans who appreciate thoughtful details. If you love animated films and want a resort that feels DISNEY-ish Art of Animation is hard to beat!!

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can be very overwhelming for a first-time guests. We have compiled just a few of the frequently asked questions by guests planning a Walt Disney World vacation.

1. How far in advance should I book my vacation package? Short answer: 6+ months.

Some people are planners and book their vacations at least a year in advance, while others are more spontaneous planning a vacation weeks before traveling. To really take advantage of all the benefits of booking a Walt Disney World vacation, we recommend booking at least 6 months in advance. Dining reservations open up 60 days prior to your reservation date. If you plan on dining at some of the more popular restaurants, this is a must! Room availability lessens as time goes on, so if you wait too long, the standard (cheapest) rooms are booked full, and you are left with the more expensive options. Lastly, you have a better chance of having a discount by booking earlier, because discounted rooms sell out quickly.

2. Should I add the Park Hopper option? Short answer: Yes.

For most guests the answer is a resounding “yes”but there are circumstances where a Park Hopper is unneccessary. When contemplating the Park Hopper option, you need to consider whether or not you would like visit 2+ separate parks in the same day. There are a myriad of reasons why this would be necessary, but some of the most popular reasons are:

you plan on spending your day at one park, but have dinner reservations inside another park
you plan on spending your day at one park, but want to attend Extended Evening Hours for deluxe resort guests and/or see a nighttime show or fireworks at another park
you want flexibility to hop to a new park if the first one is too crowded, or there's a ride you missed at another park
you are only there for a few days and want to visit all four Disney Parks

3. How much does it cost to add Lightning Lanes to my vacation package? Short answer: It varies based on date.

Because Disney uses date-based / demand-based pricing, costs fluctuate depending on day, crowd levels, and park. There are several ways to “add” Lightning Lanes:

Lightning Lane Multi Pass— gives you access to many rides for skip-the-line reservations during the day. Starts around $15/day + tax on slower days. More commonly, expect roughly $30–45/day in 2025 depending on park and date. Doesn't include the newest rides. For those you will need the Single Passes.

Lightning Lane Single Passes— for the very popular attractions that are not included in Multi Pass; you pay extra for each ride. These rides include (but are not limited to) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Avatar Flight of Passage.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass — a “one-and-done” pass that (for one day + one park) gives you skip-the-line access to all Lightning Lane attractions, no booking times required.With this pass, you don’t need to pre-book ride times; you can just walk up and use Lightning Lane entrances for all eligible rides in that park that day.

4. Can I still use Disney’s Magical Express to get to Disney? Short answer: No.

Disney’s Magical Express is no longer available. For guests who need transportation between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and the Walt Disney World Resort, there are a few options. You can used a rideshare, like Uber or Lyft, or you can book a shuttle through Mears Connect. There are a few other options like private transfers, taxis, rental cars, and Minnie Vans. Ask your Kingdom Konsultant Agent which ones are available for your trip, and the cost for each. If guests fly into or out of any other airport, the options are a bit different.

5. When is the best time to travel to Walt Disney World? Short answer: It depends.

The best time to travel really depends upon each family’s individual needs and expectations. If the budget rules and your priority is to avoid crowds, then the best time to travel to is during Value Season, such as January or September. If you are a wine connoisseur and foodie, then fall during the Food & Wine Festival would be a perfect time to go. If you want to see the parks decorated for the holidays, then November or early December is best. If you are a horticulturist, then spring during the Flower & Garden Festival would the ideal time to travel.

My personal favorite time to go is when there's a discount! My least favorite is during school breaks, when it feels like everyone who lives in Florida is at WDW. I avoid the crowds as much as possible. Last year, we went in late January and then in late July. Both were great times to go crowds-wise!

You’ll feel like you’ve been invited to dine in Walt and Roy Disney’s personal studio space.

How Rotational Dining Works

Every guest on the Disney Destiny will enjoy all three main dining rooms during their cruise.
There are 2 dining times (typically 5:45 and 8:15)
You’ll have the same servers each night, ensuring your drinks are waiting and your kids’ preferences remembered.
Your rotation schedule and table number will appear in the Disney Cruise Line app before dinner each evening.

Epcot Festival of the Arts: Is It Worth a Trip?

This popular festival will be returning to Epcot from January 16–February 23, 2026 and Disney fans are already abuzz about all of the cool offerings and events this year will bring. But you may be wondering, aside from the delectable food, what else is there for me to do? Should I bother attending? Well, I'm happy to share that the festival includes so much more than just food booths! Read on to see what else you have to look forward to!

Visual Arts

This festival is chock full of delights for the eyes! There are topiaries, art displays, galleries, art merchandise booths and more! All around Epcot you will find gorgeous splashes of color and cool things to look at. One guest favorite is the murals. There are PhotoPass photographers on hand to capture your fun, too! There are also fun photo ops with the "living statues" in Future World, and you and your family can help create a giant mosaic mural by painting some squares!

There is art to enjoy and/or purchase all around the park.

Culinary Arts

As I mentioned to you at the beginning of this post, there are also food booths all around World Showcase (a la Food and Wine Festival) that show off the culinary arts. Each food item is carefully plated and created with a rainbow palate in mind. They are just as much a feast for the eyes as they are for the belly! Interactive Experiences and Demonstrations

One guest favorite is the Scanvenger Hunt. You can purchase a map for one of several merchandise locations, and in each country, locate where the character is hiding. Lucky little artists who find all of them get a special prize!Figment is back and hiding inside famous works of art around World Showcase! With its mix of imagination and discovery, this scavenger hunt is a wonderful way for kids to learn about art in a hands-on way while adults have just as much fun searching the pavilions and unlocking a keepsake at the end.

Purchase your map and stickers at Creations Shop, Disney Traders, or World Traveler, then set off on your artistic journey around World Showcase. Keep an eye out for Figment-themed picture frames tucked into each pavilion’s artwork and add the matching sticker to your map when you spot him. Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, head back to Disney Traders, Creations Shop or World Traveler to pick up a special keepsake!

Agent Kris recommends taking a Caribbean cruise. I love Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas! On a cruise, it’s like an adventure every day! You go to bed, and wake up in a new place each morning. My favorite port is St. Thomas, and we loved Magens Bay. The snorkeling there was beautiful! We even swam with sea turtles!

Review: The Perch at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Located inside the lobby of the Grand Floridian, you will find The Perch, a new bar/lounge area offering a limited menu of elegant sips. This new bar is inspired by the beloved bird cage that once was a featured statement piece in the lobby.

The Perch is beautifully designed, with a wood toned structure, marble counters, a stained glass backdrop, and the most gorgeous light fixtures.

Seating at the bar counter is limited, but you are able to sit anywhere in the lobby and receive bar service!

The menu features two signature cocktails:

⁃ Floridian 75 (Fords Gin, Florida Citrus Cordial, and Lemon topped with Taittinger ‘La Francaise’ Brut Champagne) $22

⁃ Sunshine State Rum Sazerac (Siesta Key Coffee Rum, Demerara, Absinthe Rinse, Peychaud’s Bitters, and Lemon Essence) $17.50. Limited wine and beer selections are also available as well as a specialty non-alcoholic beverage.

I tried the Floridian 75, their spin on a French 75. I really enjoyed this cocktail and thought it had the perfect amount of zest from the citrus and lemon elements. Don’t let the gin deter you from trying this cocktail, the champagne is the leading flavor.

I think The Perch is a great addition to the lobby area. The stunning design of the bar matches the elegant theming of the Grand Floridian and its new renovations. The lobby was still calm and not overly crowded while I was visiting. If you are a guest at the Grand Floridian or in the monorail-loop area, I think it is worth stopping by The Perch!

The Disney Dining Plan - Everything You Need to Know

The Dining Plan offers the convenience and peace of mind of pre-paying for my meals and snacks. You are able to choose from two popular options: either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan. Both plans are a great value for families who love to dine at Disney, especially with children.

Space 220 Restaurant

Below is a list of the table service restaurants on Disney Property where you can use your Dining Plan credits. You can use it at restaurants located in the Disney theme parks, Disney Springs, and at the Resorts. The table service, or "sit down", restaurants either use 1 or 2 credits per person. A restaurant that requires 2 table service credits per person are called Signature Dining. These are fine dining or hard to get reservations.

When you include the Dining Plan in your vacation package, everyone in the room must have the same type of theme park ticket option and dining plan. For a child under the age of 3 — they may share from an adult plate at no charge. Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available.

If you were familiar with the Dining Plans from pre-2020, there are a few changes, in addition to the price. Should I Get the Dining Plan?

Are you going to eat more than $95 in per day? I have! That's somewhat unbelievable until you get to the parks and see the prices.

Disney is not inexpensive. You will easily spend this much each day if you maximize your credits. Do you want to think about food cost on vacation? If not, then the Dining Plan is for you.

Be sure to find the most expensive (and most delicious) options at quick service locations, especially, so that you get your money’s worth. Don’t go for the salad, go for the barbecue ribs and chicken combo at Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom for example. Go to some typically expensive sit down restaurants like ‘Ohana for dinner, Boma’s Dinner Buffet, and Space 220. Use 2 credits on Cinderella's Royal Table one day, and then the next day eat only quick service! It's as flexible as you want it to be!

If you don't drink any alcohol, are vegan, or often skip meals, I would not recommend adding the Dining Plan.

What About Toddlers Under 3?

Kid’s under 3 cannot purchase a Dining Plan. At buffets, they’ll get their own plate for free, while at other locations, they’ll have to eat off yours. If they are big eaters, and you don't want to share, you have to purchase a meal for them out of pocket. It's in your best interest to eat at buffets or family style restaurants with a big eater under 3.

Can I Use Credits At Festivals?

Yes! Use your snack credits during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival or Flower and Garden Festival. You can use your snack credit at almost every booth during the Fests. It’s a good way to truly maximize your credits. You'll see a purple "DDP" Disney Dining Plan symbol next to the items you can use a credit for. If you zoom into the menu below, you can see the purple symbols at the end of each item. Look what you can get with 1 snack credit!

What is the Resort Refillable Mug?

Refillable Resort Mugs

You will get a free refillable resort mug which can be used on unlimited soda, tea, coffee, and water. You can pick one up at your resort food court after check in. (these will be Coca-Cola products), and hot chocolate. Mugs may be used at any Disney-owned resort on property. They are not refillable at the Parks. The RFID chip in the mug will not once you leave Disney, nor will it work on your next vacation. You can use the sinks next to the pop dispensers to wash out your mug. These make great souvenirs too! I use mine all the time at home.

Use all your snack credits!

What Happens to My Leftover Credits?

Use any remaining snack credits on pre-packaged goods to take home. I recommend you buy some prepackaged snacks like cookies, popcorn, rice crispy treats, pretzels, or fudge, just to name a few. My kids love the little Mickey-shaped cheese crackers. These make perfect snacks for the plane or car ride, or for gifts. Remaining meal credits will be void after leaving Disney.

The Holiday Season runs from November 14, 2025, through January 7, 2026. Because this is one of the busiest times of the year, visitors should book early. Thanksgiving week and the days around Christmas and New Year’s are the first to fill.

The exterior of the ride is covered with thousands of lights, and the indoor experience includes festive music and detailed decorations. Stop by before 5PM when the turn on their Holiday lights. A nighttime projection show also plays on the outside during the fireworks.

Cars Land Holiday Overlays

Here are some of our favorite festive things to do around Disney during the holidays:

1. Disney Springs

Disney Springs is a holiday hotspot! You can tackle your gift list at shops like the LEGO Store, Sephora, and World of Disney, then treat yourself to something sweet. Grab a Gingerbread Latte from Starbucks, sip on Ghirardelli’s famous hot cocoa, or pick out a holiday treat at Goofy’s Candy Co.

And, don’t miss the Christmas Tree Trail behind Earl of Sandwich...each tree is themed to a different Disney movie, making it one of the most magical free experiences on property!

2. Fort Wilderness Resort Tour

Fort Wilderness Campground turns into a Christmas wonderland each December. Campers go all out with lights, blow-ups, and music...some even turn decorating into a friendly competition! You can also catch outdoor holiday movies like The Santa Clause or my personal fave: Muppet Christmas Carol by the campfire.

3. Holiday Sleigh Rides

Also at Fort Wilderness, you can hop aboard a real “one-horse open sleigh” for a 25-minute ride through the twinkling campground. Each sleigh is decked in garlands and lights and fits up to four adults (or two adults and three kids). Rides leave every 30 minutes, and reservations are recommended! More Info Here!

4. Resort Hopping

Resort hopping is one of the best free ways to soak up Disney holiday magic in my opinion. Every resort has its own style of decorations, from towering trees to intricate gingerbread displays.

For 2025, guests can look forward to a lineup of gingerbread displays at five Disney resort hotels: Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

The Grand Floridian’s life-sized gingerbread house* is a must-see, and the Polynesian and Contemporary sparkle with tropical and modern holiday decor.

Wilderness Lodge feels like stepping into a cozy mountain lodge. The Polynesian Village Resort feels like the perfect tropical holiday getaway.

Yacht Club Resort

We just attended Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, and have some firsthand advice to help make your night even more magical! Here are our top 5 insider tips to help you enjoy every festive moment:

1. Secure Your Parade Spot Early

The Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is the highlight of the night—and it’s extremely popular! The route fills up fast, especially near Main Street, U.S.A. Pro Tip: We grabbed a spot in Frontierland about 30 minutes before the first parade, and it was perfect. Frontierland tends to be less crowded than Main Street, and you’ll still get an amazing view of the floats and characters. Peco’s Bills also offers some delicious festival exclusive entrees, so we grabbed dinner while we waited!

2. Prioritize Character Meet-and-Greets

The characters are dressed in their holiday best and are incredibly engaging—some of the most fun interactions you’ll have all year! Lines can get long, so plan which characters you want to meet and head there early. Our highlight was the princes accompanying their princesses. Bonus: Rare characters like Santa Goofy and Scrooge McDuck often make appearances!

3. Arrive Early for Extra Park Time

Your party ticket lets you enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM, even though the event officially starts at 7 PM. Use this time to enjoy rides, grab dinner, and take photos before the party begins. But lines will start forming before 3:30pm to get into the park, so plan accordingly for that extra time if you want to make the most of it.

4. Don’t Miss the Fireworks

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show is a breathtaking display of holiday magic. Find a spot in front of Cinderella Castle for the best view, and check the schedule so you don’t miss it.

If you’re visiting Epic Universe with infants, little ones or those who with special needs, The Family Care Center is an absolute lifesaver!It is one of those details that proves Universal really thought of everything for families! I'm so glad they added this spot to the new park, and even I hope they add one to the other 2 parks eventually, too.

Tucked next to the portal for Harry Potter and the Ministry of Magic, near the Helios Grand Hotel entrance, this air-conditioned retreat is a quiet, comfortable space where families can take a break from the parks’ hustle and heat. Parents can relax in the seating area while kids color or watch a family-friendly Universal movie, giving everyone a chance to recharge.

Here’s what’s available inside:

🍼 Private nursing rooms for feeding or quiet time.

🌈 A sensory-friendly quiet room, perfect for children who need a calm, dim environment.

🍽️ Kitchenette area equipped with a microwave, bottle warmers, and a sink ideal for preparing bottles or meals.

🚻 Family restrooms with private stalls and pull-down changing tables.

💊 Vending machine stocked with essentials like medicine, diapers, wipes, park essentials, suncscreen, and feminine care products, a huge help when you don’t want to search through gift shops.

Whether you’re nursing, warming a bottle, or just need a few minutes to regroup, the Family Care Center is one of those hidden gems that can make a big difference in your park day. Personally, for me and my daughter, she needed to be in a quiet, unstimulating environment where she could rest and recharge. She ended up falling asleep for a quick power nap on a loveseat, while I sat and charged my phone. There aren't any outlets available, but the park does sell FuelRods.

Hours: The Family Care Center generally operates during regular park hours, opening when the park does and closing shortly after the last attraction shuts down for the evening.

How to Find It: Look for signage near the Ministry of Magic entrance. The Family Care Center sits just outside that area, close to First Aid and along the walkway leading to the Helios Grand Hotel gates. Team Members can easily direct you if you’re unsure where to go. It's somewhat hidden behind trees and bushes.

What’s Nearby: You’ll find First Aid conveniently located right next door, another great resource for families who may need medical attention, sunscreen, or ice packs during the day.

Food Options Nearby: Within a short walk, you can grab a meal or snack at one of several nearby spots, including Cafe Lair de la Siren or Le Goblet Noir in the Wizarding World Ministry of Magic, or the Helios Grand Hotel’s has a cafe and marketplace. There's a Starbucks just on the other side of the fountain, and a stand with pretzels, churros, and chips just in front of the Family Care Center.

Attractions Nearby: If you're in need of some low key things to do nearby, you can sit and watch the giant fountain in front of Helios, ride the Constellation Carousel, or play in the the splash pad between the two. How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk has a nice playground called Viking Training Camp, too.

Liberty Tree Tavern is a table service restaurant in Magic Kingdom's Liberty Square that we love! It serves a family-style feast which reminds many of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

The inside of the restaurant has a cozy home-like feeling which goes wonderfully with the comfort food they serve. There's a nice waiting area inside with tables and coloring pages for kids if your table isn't ready when you arrive.

The meal starts with a wonderful salad that everyone in our party enjoyed. The Declaration Salad is a simple tossed mixed greens with a house-made dressing. There are also some delicious dinner rolls and cornbread to start off the meal.

The main event is of course, the feast! The Patriot's Platter includes three meats, roasted turkey breast, pot roast, and oven-roasted pork and is accompanied by mashed potatoes, seasonal veggies, herb stuffing and mac and cheese.

We really enjoyed everything but the stand-out dishes for us were the pot roast, the mac and cheese, and surprisingly, the green beans. We asked for more and of course they obliged with the all-you-care-to-eat feast!

If you are a smaller party, you will enjoy all the same delicious items, but they will bring smaller servings of each to start. However, you are still welcome to order more of anything that you wish! We also tried the plant-based options, with the main meal, this was a Impossible™ Meatloaf: Plant-based Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Gravy, and Seasonal Vegetables.

We rounded out our meal with the slightly famous Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. We were all already stuffed but enjoyed a few bites to close out the meal. We also sampled the plant-based dessert offering, an apple cake, it was delicious!

Specialty cocktails (made with wine and beer) are available as well as wine and beers by the glass at dinner. They were a great accompaniment to the meal and helped elevate the experience for our group!

Every Carnival Cruise Line ship offers a splash of whimsy with its Seuss at Sea program, a partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises that brings beloved characters and stories to life right on board! Best of all, this magical experience is included on every Carnival ship, with the special breakfast available to book for a small fee ($15) through your cruise planner.

Storytime & Dr. Seuss Bookville

Bookville is cozy reading room filled with Dr. Seuss books and other toys. It was open from about 10am-10pm daily. There were hardly any other families in it when we used it. Parents used it for a safe place to let their babies crawl around. I loved that it gave my toddler a quiet, kid-friendly spot to browse stories, build with giant blocks, climb on the mats and foam blocks. The Camp Ocean crew read beloved Dr. Seuss stories with dramatic flair and silly voices that had the kids laughing nonstop. For us, it was a perfect mix of entertainment and calm, and my little one sat and listened intently. It's open all the time if parents need to utitlize it like we did, before bed time to get out that extra energy, or before naptime to read a story together.

One day, they read Green Eggs and Ham, and Sam I Am came in. There were only about 10-15 kids here for story time, so it wasn't rushed at all!

Birthday Breakfast with Thing 1 & Thing 2

This themed birthday party themed breakfast is pure fun! Seuss-inspired decor, kid-friendly foods, and of course, appearances by the dynamic duo themselves, plus Cat in the Hat and Sam I Am. My toddler was absolutely enchanted as the characters roamed around the dining room, took photos, and handed out high-fives.The menu is themed as Dr. Seuss stories, and everyone gets a piece of rainbow birthday cake. You can book this experience in the Carnival app before your cruise or sign up onboard. It's only $15 per person. There is an earlier and a later seating time. It usually happens once per cruise and they fill up quickly.

Throughout the cruise, we caught several meet-and-greets with our favorite Seuss characters. The characters were so friendly and patient, perfect for toddlers who sometimes take a few seconds to warm up. The character parade was another can’t-miss event. Watching all the characters march down the together, waving and interacting with kids, was so cute. The kids all join in the parade with musical instruments, pom poms, and flags.

Seuss Books Come to Life on Stage

We attended a lively onstage dance party followed by a super cute Green Eggs and Ham play, which was so cute and interactive!

Overall, Seuss at Sea on Carnival was a huge hit for my toddler! It brought the joy, silliness, and heart of Dr. Seuss to life in a way that made our cruise extra special. Every little detail was thoughtfully designed to create smiles for kids and grown-ups, too! It's a way have a child-centered fun with some characters, beside crusing on Disney Cruise Line.

If you’re cruising with littles, I’d absolutely recommend Carnival Celebration (especially other Excel Class ships) for the Seuss at Sea programming. It’s one of those experiences that you and your little one will remember long after you’re back on land. I also highly recommend the Family Harbor section on the ship.

Choosing the Best Disney Cruise Room For You

Inside, Ocean View, Verandah or Concierge... Decisions, decisions!

Questions that just about everyone who wants to book a cruise asks when choosing their Disney Cruise stateroom are:

1. Should we get a balcony?

2. How bad is an inside stateroom ?

3. Is location that important?

4. Whats the best location for the cost?

Unfortunately, there are no cut and dry answers and the biggest factor in this decision will be your family's own personal preferences and budget... but let's see if I can help you out!

Disney Treasure Inside Stateroom

Disney Cruise Line has four main stateroom categories:

1. Inside – The most affordable, and some even feature a "magical porthole" (screen) with a live video feed of the ocean and surprise Disney character appearances.

2. Oceanview – Includes a large porthole window (some have two small ones) for natural light without paying for a balcony.

3. Verandah (What Disney calls their balcony) – Perfect for morning coffee, sunrise/sunset views, extra sitting space, and fresh air.

4. Concierge – The most luxurious option with priority boarding, exclusive lounges, larger rooms, and upgraded amenities. This category has oceanview and verandah and suites depending on the ship.

Verandah Room on the Destiny

A balcony, or verandah, works out well for guests that will find themselves in the stateroom during the day for children's naps, or just a break in the day, since it provides you with an opportunity to still enjoy the spectacular views and gorgeous ocean air, while having some quiet time. A verandah is always enjoyable if you're someone who who's an early riser, or loves to read and spend time on your own. Most Guests love having the opportunity to step right out of their room and be out in the fresh air. (A word of caution, though, do NOT get a verandah because you smoke. Smoking is not allowed on verandahs, only in designated smoking areas on the outer decks.) If you can afford to treat yourself to a verandah stateroom, you certainly won't be disappointed.

You may also want to take into consideration the itinerary that you'll be sailing on. The most scenic cruises, like an Alaskan and the Mediterranean, may have more of a call for a verandah than some of the other Caribbean itineraries or a Trans-Atlantic, where sailing time is without a view of anything other than the ocean. (Not that the ocean is a bad view, but if you're sailing a coastline looking at fjords, glaciers or villages, a balcony makes more sense.)

Can you enjoy a stateroom without a balcony? Absolutely! In fact, my husband and I don't mind an inside stateroom, without a window. We are only in the room to sleep and shower, so we will gladly save some money! We can always see what the outside weather looks like by tuning into the channel on the tv that shows the live cameras, and it's never a long walk to get somewhere where we can step outside.

If the idea of being in a room with no window doesn't exactly thrill you, you can also choose a room with a large or small porthole, depending on the price point you want to pay, and where you want to be in the ship. These are just called "ocean view," and are great for some natural light without a verdandah price. I love to get oceanview rooms for my kids to look out, but without worrying about the safety of the verandah. We enjoyed the 5 person deluxe family oceanview room on the Dream!

Location is important too, when it comes to certain things that are specific to your party. If you have a baby, or just a light sleeper, you may want to make sure that you are not near an elevator, as the foot traffic and voices going by can be disturbing. If you are a couple, traveling without kids, you may want to try and be close to the adult only area, so that you just have to take an elevator up to the adult only pool area and spa. On the other hand, if you're traveling with littles who will be using the Oceaneer's Club, being near the midship elevators, or just on the same deck as the club, may be the most convenient. Then there's sensitivity to sea sickness to consider. Generally speaking, the forward staterooms will feel the motion of the ship the most, followed by the aft staterooms. Midship is always the most stable.

Higher decks tend to cost more, but they’re also closer to the action — pools, kids’ clubs, and dining. Lower decks can be more convenient for quick access to tender boats on port days.

Families often love Deck 6–8 midship on most ships — it’s quiet, central, and not too far from anything. Noise warning: Avoid rooms directly under the pool deck, stage theaters, or above nightclubs.

Traveling with Five People? Not all Disney Cruise rooms sleep five! If you have a larger family, look specifically for Deluxe Family Oceanview or Deluxe Family Verandah rooms. These offer a queen bed, single sleeper sofa, upper pull-down bunk, and a murphy bed. They also include a split bathroom - a major plus when everyone’s getting ready at once.

Special Room Types to Know

Aft-Facing Verandah Rooms: Oversized balconies with wake views (facing backwards)

Gaurantee Rooms: These are the least expensive rooms in each category. The catch is, you can't choose your room location or cabin #. It will be assigned to you. If you don't care where your room is, ask for an inside, oceanview or verandah gaurantee to save some money. There are other stipulations so ask your Kingdom Konsultant Agent to explain all the details.

Connecting Rooms: Great for families who want two bathrooms and extra space. Not all rooms have connecting doors, but we can specifically book them for you!

Accessible Rooms: Available in all categories and tend to be larger, but must be booked for guests who require them.

Navigator’s Verandah (on select ships): A partially enclosed balcony that is cheaper that a full sized balcony.

Tower Suites and Royal Suites: On the newer ships, there are more luxurious room types to choose from like one-bedroom suites and rooms inside the funnels. Ask your agent for more information when it's time to choose your room category, and you want to upgrade to something extra special.

Concierge Family Stateroom on the Treasure

So, it really all comes down to your budget and preferences. I think a smart way to look at it is to start with looking at the lowest priced cabin that you would be ok with staying in, and then look at how much it is to upgrade to the next step from there. Let's say you know that you don't want an inside cabin, but aren't sure if you want to spend the extra money for a balcony. Price out an oceanview cabin, and then ask what the price to upgrade would be to a cabin with a verandah. You will likely find that upgrade costs are not as high as you would expect.

San Juan, Puerto Rico: 5 Things to See Near the Cruise Port

If your cruise docks in Old San Juan, you don’t need an excursion to experience historical Puerto Rico! We explored on foot during and had a nice time. The city's compact layout makes it easy to see top sights within a few miles of the port.

We visited San Juan aboard the Carnival Celebration. The cruise ships dock right in the heart of old San Juan. Within just a few miles of the cruise port, you can see centuries of history, vibrant culture, and incredible ocean views — no tour needed! Here are 5 things to see and do within walking distance that are good for all ages.

1. Start your self-guided walk by going straight up Calle Paseo de Colon (Paseo de Colon Street) to the Plaza Colón (Colon Square), home to the Christopher Columbus statue and memorial. Stop on Calle Tetuan and grab a coffee from Starbucks or Brickhaus Coffee to fuel up. Enjoy all the old trees and the many cats and chickens wandering around this area. From there, stroll the charming cobblestone streets lined with colorful colonial buildings, boutiques, and street vendors selling shaved ice and flowers.

2. Stop at the I Love San Juan sign between the Columbus statue and the Castillo (Castle). It's a very Instagram-able photo spot. Both are located at the Plaza Colon.

3. Walk up to Castillo San Cristóbal (St. Christopher Castle), which you can see from here, which is the largest Spanish fortification in the Caribbean, where tunnels and lookout points tell stories of centuries past. It's a National Historic Site. It does cost a small fee to enter the castillos (El Morro and San Cristóbal), but it’s very reasonable!

As of 2025:

Adults: $10 per person

Children (15 and under): Free

The $10 ticket covers both forts (El Morro and San Cristóbal) for a 24-hour period, so you can visit both in one day. Entry is free if you have an America the Beautiful National Parks Pass (including Senior, Annual, Military, or Access passes). You can walk around the grassy areas and outer grounds for free, but to explore inside the forts including the tunnels, dungeons, and exhibits- you’ll need the admission ticket.

4. Follow the coastline west along Calle Norzagaray to the iconic Castillo San Felipe del Morro, often called El Morro. This 16th-century fortress once guarded the city from pirates and invaders, and today it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site with panoramic ocean views. The vast grassy field in front of the fort is one of San Juan’s most beloved spots for kite flying. Locals and visitors alike fill the skies with colorful kites that dance in the ocean breeze. On the way to the fort, you'll be able to see Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery which is a colonial-era Catholic cemetery. It is the final resting place of many of Puerto Rico's most prominent natives and residents. Construction began in 1863.

5. Inside Castillo San Felipe del Morro, there’s so much more than stone walls and cannons, it feels like stepping back in time. You can wander through old barracks, dungeons, and lookout towers, climb the ramps, and peek through tiny sentry boxes (garitas) that once guarded the coastline. Each level offers a new perspective of San Juan Bay and the ocean below, making it one of the best photo spots in Puerto Rico.

The panoramic views from the top are absolutely worth the small entry fee. El Morro is one of those places that captures everything special about San Juan in one visit. Even in the restrooms, there are little balconies perfect for overlooking the ocean. In the distance you'll see El Yunque rainforest and the mountains.

Tips for Visitors

Wear comfy shoes: The blue cobblestone streets are beautiful but uneven, so sneakers or supportive sandals are best.

Stay hydrated: Puerto Rico’s sun can be intense, so bring water or grab a cold drink from a street vendor.

Take your time: El Morro and San Cristóbal are both worth exploring and your $10 ticket covers both forts

Bring a kite: You can buy one from a local vendor near El Morro’s grassy lawn for just a few dollars

Food stop: Try Café El Punto or Raíces for authentic Puerto Rican dishes like mofongo, or Barrachina

Souvenirs: If you want something quick and easy before reboarding, the Walgreens right near the port surprisingly has great souvenirs like shirts, magnets, hats, postcards, snacks, and cold drinks at local prices.

Getting back: If you’ve walked all the way to El Morro and don’t feel like trekking back, just take an Uber — rides to the port usually cost only a few dollars and take under 10 minutes.
San Cristobal to El Morro is 1.2 miles.

The holiday season is an extra magical time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. One special event only available during the holiday season is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom. Celebrate the season with a special Christmastime fireworks show, parade, stage shows, dance parties, treats and more! This special event takes place on select nights from early November until a few days before Christmas.

Know Before You Go

It's very important to know before arriving at the Magic Kingdom that this is a separately ticketed event which means that your general admission ticket does not include admission to this party. Each party night the Magic Kingdom will close at 6pm to day guests and the party officially takes place from 7pm to midnight. However, party ticket holders will be admitted to Magic Kingdom park as early as 4pm. That means party ticket holders get even more time to enjoy the park before the official party begins. It's also important to know that your MVMCP ticket does not require an additional theme park ticket or park pass reservation to attend.

Once you arrive at the entrance, cast members will direct you toward specific touchpoints for entry. Wristbands are then given to party guests after going through the touchpoints, plus a complimentary Mickey Mouse ornament. Be sure to grab a party map, which unfolds to reveal a map and lots of event details!

If you are already enjoying a day at Magic Kingdom, you can stop by a wristband station to swipe your ticket and have a cast member apply your wristband. Typically, the locations are Tortuga Tavern, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and Mickey’s PhilharMagic.

Treat Location Marker

Guests can enjoy complimentary cookies and festive beverages at holiday treat locations located throughout the park. Each location offers a different cookie. Allergy-friendly and alternative healthy options are available upon request. Make sure to visit all treat locations to grab one of each cookie and beverage offered.

The cookies are individually packaged so they make for great souvenirs to bring home with you! You can find the treat locations marked with a candy cane icon on the park map. When in the park, look for the giant candy cane striped inflatable to find each location.

Character Greetings

Characters also get into the spirit dressed in their holiday best for meet and greets! You'll find characters roaming and greeting throughout the park during the party including some rare characters like Jack Skellington, Aladdin, Abu, Genie, Seven Dwarfs, Santa Goofy and Scrooge McDuck. The character greetings definitely make for a cute photo op for a Christmas card. Keep your eyes out for the roaming characters!

Disney PhotoPass photographers have special holiday props and Magic Shots. You can also step into holiday scenes from classic, festive Disney stories with interactive photo frames. The PhotoPass photographers and photo frames can be found throughout the park.

Very Merry Event Entertainment

Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration

Entertainment is where MVMCP really shines! There are two stage shows, a parade, fireworks and two dance parties. Each stage show has several viewings throughout the night so you can decide which time works best for your schedule or see a show twice if you really feel inclined! You'll find Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration on the Castle Forecourt Stage and A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas on the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland.

Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade offers two viewings, one at 8:30pm and one at 11pm. The parade is definitely worth seeing! There are a ton of great floats, characters, toy soldiers and Santa Claus. You can't miss seeing Santa Claus close out the parade!

Another must-see event entertainment is Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show. Although I prefer viewing the fireworks from Main Street, viewing locations are available throughout the park and are often less crowded in the park's other lands.

Frozen Holiday Surprise & Dance Parties in the Park

You’re invited to ring in the season with Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and the snowgies at Cinderella Castle as it transforms into a frozen wonderland during the Frozen Holiday Surprise. Frozen Holiday Surprise this year will be on Monday, November 10, at 6:15pm and 8:15pm. After that there is at least one performance nightly through December 31

But, the dazzling entertainment doesn’t stop there. You can also show off jingle bell rock moves at multiple dance parties featuring holiday friends:

Holiday-themed Attractions

The characters aren't the only ones to get into the holiday spirit. Several attractions have a holiday-themed overlay during the party. In Adventureland, you can visit the Jingle Cruise and over in Fantasyland you can ride the Mad Tea Party with holiday music and lighting. Tomorrowland has three holiday-themed attractions; Tomorrowland Speedway, Space Mountain and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. The Tomorrowland Speedway holiday overlay is so cute with a ton of lights along the track. We found the Space Mountain holiday overlay to be slightly disorienting in that the lighting made everything more visible and thus more scary when you can see everything around you. Some of the lights were also pointed directly in line with our eyes and were slightly blinding, hence the disorientation. We prefer the traditional Space Mountain where you're thrown into the darkness of outer space but I appreciate the effort to add a holiday overlay to this attraction.

Tips & Tricks

There is so much to do at the party that it's about near impossible to see and do everything that is offered. Here are some tips and tricks to help you in your planning:

Plan out your night before you arrive and prioritize what is the most important to you.
If meeting characters is a priority for you, make sure to line up early for Jack Skellington as his line can get really long. Just like prioritizing the most important activities during the party, you'll want to prioritize which characters you want to meet as there just won't be enough time to visit them all.
The second parade is usually less crowded so if you only want to see the parade once, try waiting until the 11pm parade. If you are worried about not making it to the second parade, then make sure you grab a spot early for the first viewing as spots along the curb around the castle and Main Street will fill up early.
It snows on Main Street so I recommend grabbing a spot along Main Street for the parade and/or fireworks. It's truly a magical experience to see snow along Main Street.
Try to arrive a little before 4pm as the turnstiles can be busy when party ticket holders are allowed in.

All Aboard the Brightline Train

We recently took the Brightline from Miami to Orlando after our cruise so we could visit Universal, which is in Orlando. The train connects Orlando to South Florida with a relaxed transit. Many cruise passengers traveling to/from Orlando or Central Florida may find this easier than balancing airport-to-port ground transfers.

I stepped of my cruise ship and within 5 minutes I was at the Brightline Miami Central station at 9:00 a.m. with 3 kids and luggage in tow. We checked our bags quickly, and breezed through the security check (no need to unpack or remove electronics.) Checked bags are allowed on Miami, FLL and Orlando, and it closes 30 minutes before boarding. We chose the 9:45 a.m. train. The station was sleek and modern, with a bar/cafe. You don't have to be 2 hours early like for a flight.

Once onboard, we settled into our seats in coach, car #2. It was roomy, with generous legroom and a wide tray table. Our seats faced the seats on the other side of the table. There were other seats without a table as well. I plugged in my phone to one of the many charging ports and had lots of room overhead for our carry-ons. Outside the window, the Florida landscape went by: palm trees, some urban areas between Miami and Ft Lauderdale, then marshes, and farmland. Free, high-speed Wi-Fi is available onboard. Each seat area offers power/USB or outlet access for charging phones, laptops, etc.

The Brightline route from Miami to Orlando covers roughly 235 miles and takes about 3 hours 25 minutes under typical operations. While it’s not bullet-train (fast all the way) it’s fast enough to beat typical driving (especially when factoring in road traffic).

Midway through the ride, we ordered coffee and muffins from the app and they came quickly. The train glided quietly with no bumps, no jolts, or swaying like the Amtrak trains do. The kids had plenty of room to move around, or walk to the bathroom. It was much roomier than an airplane or a car.

We arrived at Orlando’s station (right at the airport), and I couldn't believe how fast 3 hours went by. We took an Uber to our Universal hotel, to start the second part of our trip. It was such a comfortable and hassel free way to get from southern FL up to Orlando. This is a game changer for people needing to use a different airport, or to visit the Disney or Universal parks pre- or post-cruise!

Cruise port access: If you're flying into Miami (MIA) or Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and then hopping on a cruise, you can use Brightline to connect you from Orlando (or vice versa) without needing to drive or arrange a long shuttle. The train connects you to South Florida with a relaxed transit. Many cruise passengers traveling to/from Orlando or Central Florida may find this easier than balancing airport-to-port ground transfers.

One-leg travel: For trips that might otherwise involve flying into Miami, then driving up to Orlando (or the reverse) just to catch another flight or cruise, Brightline can replace that road leg and reduce stress.

St. Thomas Excursion: Mountain Top & Coki Beach

Stopping in the beautiful Virgin Islands while aboard your next cruise? I just visited on the Carnival Celebration. Our ship docked at Havensight in Charlotte Amalie. This is the dock where Disney, Carnival and other ships port. There is another dock in Crown Bay for Royal Caribbean ships, among others. We took a "sightseeing tour" with VI Top, booked through Viator (it's also available through the ship's excursions, TripAdvisor and more.) There are many tours to choose from here. They are mostly group tours in open-air "safari style" trucks or buses. You can also book a private tour for a higher price. This tour went to St. Peters Mountain, a.k.a. The World Famous Mountain Top, Drake's Seat and Coki Point Beach.

Here are my thoughts — what worked well, what was a bit of a headache — plus a few tips.

Once we debarked the ship, we were led to a small vendor area full of taxis, jeeps, and safari trucks. It was jammed full of people, so thankfully we packed light. The truck travels up the twisting and turning sloped streets of St. Thomas. You really get to see the diversity of the island on this drive. The streets are very narrow, even hitting tree branches along the way (keep your hands and cameras in the vehicle!) and it was funny to drive on the "wrong" side of the street. The driver was narrating the tour, but it was hard to hear most of what he was saying over the wind. He did tell us about how the island was purchased by the United States from Denmark in 1917 for $25 million in gold as part of a strategic acquisition during World War I.

Our first stop was an overlook of Magens Bay, called Drakes Seat. Named after Sir Francis Drake, who was said to have used the spot to look for enemy ships. It offers one of the best views of Magens Bay Beach and the British Virgin Islands. We saw a few giant iguanas in the treetops.

Our next stop was the world-famous Mountain Top located on the island's highest point at approximately 1,500 feet. It is known for it's panoramic views of Magens Bay, St. John, and the British Virgin Islands, its duty-free shops, and for being the birthplace of the Banana Daiquiri. (This is probably the biggest tourist trap I've ever been to, and Ive been to many islands in the Caribbean!)

But, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. We were there for a strictly-enforced 20 minutes and we barely made it back to the bus after waiting in the checkout line. We scored some cheap souvenirs, got a regular banana daquiri, and the kids got virgin daquiris, which were actually pretty good. Is it something I care to have again? Not really. The views from the back deck of the building were beautiful though!

Our next stop was overlooking the cruise port, which was pretty awesome! I loved seeing the city and the ships below. The water is a color of turquoise that's unforgettable. My daughter sat on a donkey named Lady Gaga, and we offered a small donation.

Our final stop was Coki Beach. The reviews of the beach are very mixed, some saying it's great for kids because there are lots of fish to see while snorkelling, and it's a calm beach without waves. Both of these things are true. We rented snorkel gear for $20 on the beeach, which we used around the rocky coral areas at the far edge of the beach. The water was warm and crystal clear. You could stand in shoulder deep water, and look down and see your feet clearly. The beach is in a cove surrounded by hillsides, making it very picturesque.

*However*

Getting to the beach, you must pass through a community that is very impoverished, and looks unsafe. This made me a little worried. The beach itself is VERY small. It's owned by one family although this is a public beach. There were a few people openly smoking majiuana which is not uncommon for the Caribbean. Marijuana is technically legal for recreational and medical use in the U.S. Virgin Islands for adults over 21.

There were about 3 rows of lounge chairs. It was already extremely busy once we arrived, but we rented a chair for $7. They had a huge food and drink menu. The food we had was very good, BUT, we didn't know until after we had ordered it that they took cash only We usually don't bring large amounts of cash onto the islands because we have credit cards, so we had to use Zelle to pay for the food. (Many people in the Caribbean don't use Paypal or Venmo.) There was an ATM on site, but, it was broken. The Coral World Ocean Park is visible from this beach. There are restrooms, showers, foot showers, ice cream and souvenirs for purchase.

We got back to our ship with plenty of time to spare, and got to see the new Disney Treasure docked up close, which was neat. We didn't take the time to shop in the Havensight Mall for souvenirs as we were tired from our long day on the island and had shopped at Mountain Top.

When we were pulling away from the island, we got to see some gorgeous sunset views, resorts, and even a rainbow. I enjoyed the beauty and history of this island, but I don't think we will be visiting Coki Beach again. Next time I visit, I will check out Sapphire Beach, Brewers Beach, or Magens Bay Beach instead. I've heard great things about taking the ferry over to St. John, too.
