Creativity & New Perspective (There's gotta be a better way!)

I am making all kinds of 'creative' and new methods for doing things. Saturday, my washed permanent furnace filter needed to be totally dried before installing in the furnace. It was getting late and COLD. I needed to turn on my furnace. So I stood the furnace filter up and used my hair-dryer blower to blow it totally dry:) Another different perspective. It was totally super-stressful to try and administer my cat's Hairball Remedy which is in a tube (see description of former way of doing it) which was always traumatic for me and my cat, Queenie! Same with her vitamin supplement which is also in a tube. I was giving Queenie worming medication for five days in syringes without the needle. When the medication was finished - I was washing out the last of the five syringes. I looked at the syringe - I got a tube of her Hairball Remedy - opening the top of it. It had a hole. I took the plunger out of the syringe - measured it against the hole in the top of the tube of Hairball Remedy - they matched. I then began pre-filling the five syringes - some with Hairball Remedy, others with her vitamin supplement. OMG, it was perfect. So this is how I approached an entirely different way of coping.

The 'creative' part of this is using syringes (without a needle) to give my cat, Queenie, her hairball remedy and vitamins. She now receives a reward of treats when she lets me do it. Visualize this, I fill the syringes with either of the supplements for her. I place them in a drawer in the bathroom. I roll up my long pink shag rug and put it outside of the bathroom. I then find Queenie, carry her into the bathroom. I close the door while securely holding her. I place her on the counter where I have one of the syringes ready to give her the needed dose. I hold her by the scruff of her neck and stick the syringe between her clenched teeth. I inject the hairball remedy OR the vitamin supplement holding her head as still as possible in an upward position so she swallows it. I check around to make certain she did swallow it and not spit it up on my dress, the bathroom mirror or floor. I then pick her up telling her what a 'good, good girl' she is. I pick her up and pet her, unlock the bathroom door and open it. I put her down on the hallway floor. I then go into the bedroom, get her treats out of my nightstand and shake the bags calling her. After several days, she has learned if she takes her 'medicine' - she gets her treats. I used to wrap her tightly in a towel, making certain her four paws were wrapped tightly inside. I would ten try and squeeze the tube of hairball remedy into her mouth - she would twist her head around, resisting and get it all over her face, chin and throat - then take off and spit whatever had by a stretch gotten into her mouth. I would then have to shampoo her face and chin - and blow dry her fur, otherwise it would be greasy for weeks, literally!

My dear, dear friend, Chuck Domanico, bass player extraordinaire passed away. I still think of him on his birthday - I maintain a memorial section for him on my website. Chuck comes to me in Spirit. I know that Chuck played bass with Etta James. Chuck has come to me many times in Spirit over the years since he has passed. Here is a link to 'Chuck Sends A Message' on my website. It feels like Chuck made his transition into Spirit yesterday - even though it has now been ten years. I miss his wonderful laugh - his great jokes and his big bear hugs! Sleep Interruption - Sensing 4.3 Earthquake Offshore Northern California

Why I could not sleep until after 2:00 AM Sleep Interruption is a sensing symptom. I did 'call' I was sensing an event that felt North of me which this is. Shallow and upgraded from 4.0 to 4.3 - sure enough, I feel asleep after this event. I am not nervous, anxious - simply wide awake until an event is over. Jimmy Fallon Late Night is over. Queenie is insisting I come to bed. Oh, I so want to go to sleep before 4:00 a.m. tonight. I may have to resort to self-hypnosis or my Black Cat meditation. Will describe it tomorrow. It truly does work - if I work it - and when I am frustrated with being wide awake and alert, it is easy to forget the tools I have to bring on a deep, restful sleep. I am wondering if I can really do this - that means Monday and Tuesday get lots of posts in and then beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18 - NO internet until 12:01 AM on January 19, Thursday - this is Pacific Time - I could do this - I went a week without a computer and it was actually very calming and serene. The Miracle of Our Physical Body - Attitude of Gratitude

I have had many health challenges in my life - and I continually, daily, thank my physical body for the miracle it IS, and continues to be. So much of the healing is connected to what we 'believe' and a positive attitude has proven to make a huge difference. I love that hospitals are now integrating other healing modalities - some as experiments others as part of the staff - others such as hypnosis prior to surgery to reduce pain, trauma and speed the healing response. I loved having Music Therapy following Open-Heart surgery. A young woman and man, actually on the staff of the hospital, came into my room and drummed - we chanted, the young woman sang, "My Heart Will Go On" to me. When they were drumming, I actually felt one of the artery bi-pass stand-up and the blood flow fully through it! An truly mind-blowing feeling~

Palm Scanning - Latest Technology in Medical Field

I was checking in to Scripps Memorial Hospital - Encinitas California - Outpatient Radiology Department. The technician asked me to place my palm on a scanner. I did. As my right hand palm was being scanned, I asked her what it was scanning. She told me it was scanning the blood vessels in the palm of my hand for my medical records and identification. I took my palm out, she read the scan and then asked me to put it back. The device confirms the first scan is correct with the second scan. I posted on my personal wall on Facebook(Bravebeauty Jussta)about this experience, and a nurse or someone told me I must be mistaken. I was certain I heard the technician that scanned my palm correctly - but I forgot about it. Until tonight, a High Tech Blogger posted something and I commented and asked if he had ever heard of a palm scanner. Sure enough, he came back with his post on Health/Technology. The article regarding this new technology states that the most difficult part is to get people to participate. I did not hesitate at all. I thought it was fascinating. Here is an excerpt: "There is some new technology that could put access to your medical records in the palm of your hand. As Taunya English of WHYY reports: Don't bother searching for your health insurance card. A hospital in Allentown is testing a new way to confirm that you are who you say you are. WHYY reports on a biometric technology that is more distinct than a fingerprint or DNA. At the Lehigh Valley Health Network, more than 1,500 patients agreed to have their palm scanned when they showed up for blood work and other medical tests. Josh Napua is a vice president with the device manufacturer, Fujitsu. Napua: So instead of having a card that you can lose, or a social security number than someone can steal, what you can do as an option to indentify yourself now, is put your palm over a a scan that actually reads the palm veins."

This post came out of a comment back and forth from an intelligent conversation on a social network this evening with a communications officer in the U.S. Army. I thought this would be thought provoking. There are millions out of work - the system is broken thanks to Wall Street, Banks, Corporations as people, Mortgage Companies, and the lobbyists buying influence for very bad laws, regulations (or not regulating mostly) and the 1% not taxed. We need to get back into manufacturing - MAKING our own products - cheap labor is costing Americans their jobs, their homes, food on the table - there have never been so many homeless and destitute. When you have no income, or not even enough to get by - you don't want hand-outs, you want a job. Either people are over-qualified anymore, or have been out of the workforce for too long to even be considered for employment. Seniors are working far into their retirement because they have lost their savings and IRAs in the stock market. If there were jobs - outside of very qualified - there would not be over 8 million people unemployed. I maintain if GWB had never waged war in Iraq and Afghanistan - there would be no budget deficit in the USA. President Clinton left us with a massive budget surplus - there are no excuses for the GOP to be the party of NO, elitist for the wealthy and giant conglomerates and corporations that pay for their campaigns and favors. And YES, I realize that the military is traditionally Republican - which makes no sense whatever to me. GWB and his Bushwhackers sent our Armed Forces into Iraq without adequate equipment and safety gear - without an exit plan - all to please his oil cronies and KGB and Halliburton for Cheney to line their own pockets. And yes, I live in a county filled with the military - I have nothing but respect and admiration for their service to this country. I can look out over Camp Pendleton and I encounter and speak with Marines frequently. Those who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan numerous times - agree we should never have gone there, we should not be there now. They may not be able to voice it to their superiors - but the tide is turning. As for consumerism - that would be the Military - Industrial complex that makes billions in Black Ops and pushing for more and more war. Traditionally, wars USED TO stimulate the economy - that no longer works - it drains all of our resources, kills and maims our young. Osama Bin Laden stated he would bankrupt America - he may be dead, but he succeeded in his mission - with a few planes, suicide attacks to instill fear into the hearts of the American people - thanks to GWBush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, et. al., I become nauseated when I hear 'Homeland' as in our security. Homeland was one of Hitler's phrases. This is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - NOT the homeland, and will never be the 'homeland' in my book. Forget Cable - Go HD LIVE TV~

I did it!~ I am FREE~ I turned in my High Def cable box today, cancelled a ton of services. I went to Best Buy and bought WD (Western Digital) LIVE TV. It cost $99.99 plus tax and another HDMI cable $25. plus tax, and a wireless keyboard for $20 at Target. Took me all of 3 minutes to hook it up, set it up, and about 4 minutes for it to download two large updates. Found wireless keyboard without my having to tell it. I now have access to over 300 High Def channels, music, and audio, TV, Movies, weather, news channels, Facebook, HULU, YouTube videos, so many more I have yet to explore. I highly recommend this. I found out when Traci Foust & Max Petersen came over to visit and told me about their WD LIVE TV. I was sold from what they said, but to make certain it would work for me, I went over to their home last night and was in awe. This unit and accessories will pay for itself in 2 months of super-reduced cable bill, there are no monthly fees except for paid services you may already have. The High Def is glorious. You can make your own music mixes, favorite channels - so much. There are others systems out there and a more expensive unit from WD (Western Digital), but this is perfect for me. Everything else is changing in my life, inside and out - may as well be my viewing and listening pleasure :)) (this is not a paid announcement:)

Ancient Supernova Revealed

"About 3,700 years ago people on Earth would have seen a brand-new bright star in the sky. As it slowly dimmed out of sight, it was eventually forgotten, until modern astronomers found its remains -- called Puppis A. Seen as a red dusty cloud in this image from NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, Puppis A is the remnant of a supernova explosion. Puppis A (pronounced PUP-pis) was formed when a massive star ended its life in an extremely bright and powerful explosion. The expanding shock waves from that explosion are heating up the dust and gas clouds surrounding the supernova, causing them to glow and creating the beautiful red cloud we see here. Much of the material from that original star was violently thrown out into space. However, some of the material remained in an incredibly dense object called a neutron star. This particular neutron star (too faint to be seen in this image) is moving inexplicably fast: over 3 million miles per hour! Astronomers are perplexed over its absurd speed, and have nicknamed the object the "Cosmic Cannonball." Some of the green-colored gas and dust in the image is from yet another ancient supernova -- the Vela supernova remnant. That explosion happened around 12,000 years ago and was four times closer to us than Puppis A. If you had X-ray vision like the comic book hero Superman, both of these remnants would be among the largest and brightest objects you would see in the sky. This image was made from observations by all four infrared detectors aboard WISE. Blue and cyan (blue-green) represent infrared light at wavelengths of 3.4 and 4.6 microns, which is primarily from stars, the hottest objects pictured.
