Hello my Friends! This tiny doll was recently born in my studio. Thanks to Rocky Anderson, Ferliss got her finishing touches, a name and, most important, she can meet you now. This doll is about 4 inches. I was plaing with teardrop shaped bodies and teddy-bear stile buttoned joints for the hands and legs. This doll is a second one that was listed at "Enchantingift" on etsy. I didnt have chance to create a post for my first girl here for reason she was sold by the time I got to my blog. Whaaaah! You have 10000 repeating questions:
"how you do it?", so i spend my not-valuable-for-you time
and put it all together on English,

which is not my language!
This just a repeating info from the description of my video(so do not read it if you already did it on youtube ).
and, Please, appreciate it! Love you all! Whaaaah.
-this is not an instruction or teaching material, just sharing my experience!

-polymer clay brand I am working with is Kato or Fimo, I do not mix them together;
-I do not paint my sculptures, it is original color of polymer clay custome bland/mix and basic blushing.
-Kato and fimo in flash colors get darker and little bit more translucent after curing.
-this doll was sculpted with Kato mix(beige+translucent+ white+liquid). It takes long-long time and finger blisters to mix Kato because it is really firm clay . I add liquid Kato to make it soft and easier to sculpt. I do prepare my mix ahead for many dolls to make.
-my fav sculpting tools are dental tools;
-I am smoothing polymer clay with flat brash dipped in liquid polymer clay and clay softener;
-No I do not use or make no molds!
-armature is 16G and 20G wire, paper or polymer clay coated. I am not sure what kind of wire it is I am using, I get it from hardware store awhile ago. Be aware that some wire can "leach" to the polymer clay during curing or later on make it dark; testing yours before use it on valuable project will be smart. Cover your armature with white glue and thin paper strips completely and dry it before start sculpting if you worrying about the wire you are using. ;
-Viscose, Silk or Mohair for hair + clear waterproof permanent fabric glue to attach it;
-film, fusible film or silk for wings;
-use Google or any other search engine to found this staff
P.S. KEEP IT CLEAN!!!!!!To eliminate visible lint in light colored polymer clay during sculpting -- wipe your hands and tools and working aria every 2-5 minutes with dump/wet paper towel and dry it. Also, You may consider some following steps for professional sculpting. Before sculpting with polymer clay make sure your sculpting room and everything in it is "surgically" clean(If you have rag or carpet -- you will have lint, so get rid of it, same for the textile furniture and window treatments and inspect your own closes on the matter of producing lint too). Turn ON: exhaust fan and purifier for at list 30 min before sculpting. Turn OF: furnace, air vent, ets. during sculpting. There... If air in your room is too dry than you will have floating lint any way, but if it is too humid you will have extra moonies and cracks in your cured clay, so go figure it out.

Total piece is about seven 7 inches tall.
Gragkhom is frustrated but a very sweet goblin
with wrinkly skin, beautiful blue eyes and a little remainder of green hair.

I just send this PM to one of my fried and thought it would be interesting to some of you too.
"Hi ...! Thank you so much for writing me. I am a big fun of yours!

Manufacturers who produce IBD and other nail UV product can assure you that their product will not get yellow because it takes only 6 months for a nail to grow from the root to the free edge.( For toenail it can be up to 18 month.) Do they guarantee you that their product will have the same quality in 5, 10, 20 years after it has bean cured?
The trues is - any UV gel will develop yellow tint in long or short period of time if continue exposure to UV including non direct UV lite. Well, I need to say, that your beautiful dolls with UV gel domed eyes will be safe if kept forever in the room with no windows.
Now about Lisa Pavelka MG, it also a a UV cured product... Lisa herself explained a possibility of developing yellow tint or darkening of her Magic Glos. The benefit of her MG - it is assured NON harmfulness to cured polymer clay. It is OK to use for dolls eyes with caution and aware of color shifting possibility.
I would also recommend to use a heat resistant , non yellowing two part clear resin. I am not giving any body the brand name in purpose to encourage to make research, contact manufacturers and find out little bit more about exciting chemical reactions of products that we are using for our dolls...."

eyes ever(unless you are a professor in chemistry:))

- Tete Kelly Thank u for that tip. I hae this questions about the 3D laquer. I apply it after the doll has been baked. I only heated with a heat gun for a little bit, but I have not put it in the oven cuz I'm afraid it will bubble, any advice?

  Hi girl! Do you know if its just because of the heat from the oven, contact with polymer, shelf life in an Art doll or all? Would be so helpful if people displayed images here :D It would really help a lot of people out..

  "Baking or exposure to heat will not cure the product, but baking can be done at temperatures up to 275° degrees Fahrenheit (135° Celsius) with cured Magic Glos. Note that some yellowing or darkening of the resin may occur."

  I still prefer FIMO because it is made for the oven and all my dolls seem perfectly fine. It's just always good to know the best methods :) or find new ones.

  Ha-ha, I just read my status and see that all thing may sounds like negative caution!
  I did not mean it! I wonted to say that I am against any nail products on dolls eyes and I am against baking any non heat resistant materials(read: most o...f the lacquers).
  Heat resistant resin is Ok if their components is not harmful for polymer clay in short and long term. Many resins shifting its coloration with different periods of time. Do make research on it before use!
  Lisa Pavelka is great for dolls eyes, just be cautious and remember "the yellowing tendency"(sorry for repeating myself again:)) See More
