I had a really fabulous time in the summer when I opened New York's Citi Field Stadium, the new Shea Stadium. Having opened Shea for music with The Beatles and closed it with Billy Joel, it was my pleasure and honour to be asked to open the new one. Over three nights we filmed the show. harleyblues: So people have been asking, where DID the name Purple melon come from?
Owen:There are many rumours circulating around the origin of the name...but the honest answer is....

we new we needed a name...so we just came up with a list of different names, then it was a case of seeing which we could use and register and Purple Melon IT WAS! this may or may not be the actual reason tho:P:P but its the less crude version

Owen: it seems a lot more people like the name Purple Melon over here in the U.S.Well...he does have unusual coloured genitalia...but its just a myth that its linked to the name

So, how long has the band been together and I understand you recently moved to California from England?...
Owen: the band has been together just over 3yrs, but the current and what we'd call the definitive line-up..have been together 18months

to be honest... the world of Purple Melon is a fun/surreal place where ever we are, its such a unique mix of people involved, there's never a dull moment.
moving to America was just a continuation of what went before, just a different city

I like to describe our sound as very nostalgic yet fresh classic in a classic rock genre

Owen I think its mature yet still has a young spirit as individuals , we all are very different I terms of our musical backgrounds there are a lot of influences we have in common between the four of us.

Owen: The Faces, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Free, Stones,Beatles, Wings, ;);),10cc, but there are a lot of unusal influences too.

Owen: a lot of jazz, blues , even pop artists we just like good , well crafted music. what ever the genre, if its connects with us...then its OK!

Owen The Beatles are a huge influence on all of us...we constantly find inspiration in what they achieved.Tom is a huge huge huge Fan. they're music is the benchmark to which we all aspire to meet.

harleyblues: Nice.Does the band cover any Beatles, Faces etc at gigs?
Owen to be honest...it take a very brave or stupid band to cover a Beatles song. It needs to be done well or not at all.

Owen: Those songs are so well known, to cover them...u are never going to please everyone. ha yeah :) laughs..we play Maybe I'm Amazed. Great song but no actual Beatles. We do very few covers

Owen to be honest...not a lot The Black Crowes, Queens of the Stone Age. We like Jellyfish, when they were around ...There's an English band called Big Linda...up and coming group.

Owen Tom does hit those notes! as you'll hear soon enough im sure.Kings of Leon are ok
but none of those band are playing in the Purple Melon household any where near as our pre 1979 collection
for us, its making the old... new and relevant to today. The kids of today are missing out on the good stuff

to be honest, we're not huge fans...( of Kings of Leon) .but its a step in the right direction compared to most modern bands. They are good at what they do tho

speaking of old music making it new what are your thoughts on the 60's 70's vibe should it make a come back?

I guess there was a recent 80s come back...I wouldn't be surprised if there is a total 60s 70s come back so many great bands from that era, it would be great, especially if it helps push our music out to more people so...we are doing our best to make that come back happen!

Owen: non of us got into music because we wanted to be Rock Stars and party , get drunk, take drugs ,have massive egos etc...we all started doing what we do because we love music its all about the music no we no we're not a druggy bunch at all

Owen: you'll be more likely to find us having a good feed and a few pints of lager we like a good Curry!in fact, we like to eat..lots the music is our love...and all those other trappings are just a distraction...

pm:we like to have a lot of fun and a laugh, and because we're in a band ,i guess it would be easy to assume we'd be bad druggy types....but no, none of us are quite in Keith's shoes yet..or intend to be, apart from music fame.

hb speaking of eats what do you like to eat since coming to the states?
pm hmm...we love a good Burger! so many different burger chains to try and choose from:):) some awesome Mexican food too.

pm yes ! he does lol
pm Tom is an Odd ball I guess we all are in different ways it's a very dynamic group, like no other band ive been in before a mix of characters that just works I guess.
hb So I understand you are making a new album who produced it details please :):)

pm: we actually started making the album back in 08. in the UK and it was finally complete around May 09.
we worked long and hard with Paul Stacey in the studio, and made a record we are all
very proud of Paul is a truely awesome musician and producer...we learned so much in the time we spent making the record (Paul was guitarist in the Black Crowes, and produced their last two records)
hb: wow, coolio so you got some support from the Crowes :):)

pm:
we recorded at Rockfield studios in Wales, where Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody, and many other classic records were made there. We did it the old fashioned way as well..we recorded to tape

hb damn very old school.. nostalgic how many takes and reels of feed did you guys go thru in the making of the album?

pm ha! I've no idea but i know we spent a long time in the studio and Paul worked us all VERY hard.
hb the name of your upcoming album?
pm The Album is most likely going to be called Henry's Rocket which is a song from the album

hb How has the bands popularity increased since moving to the states which venues have you played?
pm: when we moved here we knew very few people...just a few myspace friends we started out playing smaller clubs, first band on, playing to hardly anyone but we just stated going out , meeting people, we found anyone we convinced to come see us once...always came back, and even better, they brought new people with themso now we have a really good crowd , and healthy following here..its amazing how quickly its grown the word has really spread. So we play The Viper Room, The Key Club, The Mint, Knitting Factory

all the good Hollywood venues also still try to get out to new places tho...its so important to keep reaching out to new people keep people talking about the band, and making it grow

hb How does the LA scene differ to London?
pm It seems there are a lot more people out, and up for going to see live music...any day of the week

pm in London its more of a weekend thing I think thats why its easier to get a buzz going about a band here

harleyblues: What has been the crowd response to Purplemelon? you guys aren't hard to look at all nice looking lads

pm: its odd, because people that see us for the first time just stare...

pm then after that,they seem to just have fun we're lucky, we seem to attract a really good bunch of people to our shows

pm we usually get a really good fun vibe, just because everyone there,including us..are just fans of music

pm: I find it has helped. Being English and in a Rock band will get you noticed out here, but I guess if u cant back it up,then u will sink!

hb what has been your most valuable music experience, since coming to California?
pm tricky..just being able to play so many different venues and learning the value of loyal fans and friends they have really helped us settle in and get things happening here LA is just a base , we plan to try and have Fans all over the US...then the World! but the people that helped us start out here are invaluable to us.

hb what happened to "Don't give up" on You tube your vid?

pm we took it down because it was the demo version the album version is yet to come

New European Tour Announced Including Paul's Only UK Date In 2009

Good Evening Europe Tour 2009

Following a massive tour of the US this summer, Paul McCartney today announces his first European Tour since 2004. This December will see Macca play seven special arena shows across Europe, culminating with his first ever public performance at London's O2 Arena, which will be his only UK date of this year.

Other firsts on this tour will include shows at Berlin’s O2 World venue and Dublin’s The O2.

Paul commences his tour in Hamburg – a city he is very familiar with. Incredibly, it's now 49 years since The Beatles historic visit, which created rock folklore and put Hamburg on the map as a musical Mecca for hundreds and thousands of music pilgrims over the years.

This will be Paul’s first time back in Hamburg (as well as Arnhem, Cologne and Dublin) since his 2003 "Back In The World" tour. Meanwhile, the people of Berlin will get their first Paul McCartney concert in 16 years, since 1993's "New World Tour"! December will take Paul back to Paris for the first time since he played an intimate club show at the Olympia in 2007.

Speaking about the tour, Paul said:

"This is my chance to bring our current show home to where it all began. Starting in Hamburg, ending in London and rocking everywhere in between. I'm very much looking forward to ending the year on a high."

hey people. You know what really sucks? I'm trying to get the time off to see Paul in London, right?. They won't lemme have the freakin time off as per usual!!! I just found this out, half and hour ago.. Freakin people want our damn vacation bids a year AHEAD of time.. How the fuck, do you know what your going to be doing a fucking year from now? do you? Not me. I also wish, Paul, would give us advance warning, a few months in advance- to try and sort the time off, get monies together so on so fourth.. One freakin huge bummer.. !!!!!!. did it make me cry? hell yes!!!!!

5 hrs later and I'm still annoyed I cannot see Paul and his Hot rawkin band.. If you are able to see Paul & the band, do it. You won't be disappointed!! I believe in miracles, perhaps a hail Mary pass at the final hour.. "Oh yeah" I forgot. I'm in freakin Cali!~!!

Hey people, did you see the VMA's a few weeks back? It rawked didn't it? as I was writing a blog post for the the music awards a lil band was introduced. I didn't catch the name. I was like, who the heck is this? Right from the intro I knew this performance was gonna kick. This band rocks and so brilliant, live! I caught VH1 this am and a 5 second snippet of the band. That's the band Oh man, that's the band who played on the on MTV awards ?! I said to myself.

I MUST find a decent vid to post here. This was the bands first US television debut. My first time, hearing the band, at all. Why haven't I heard a thing from this band? I Love them. I gotta see this band live, Of course they are British aren't all the hottest bands from great britian? I bet they will kick ass! check out this lil vid from MTV, Muse's Telly debut. They Rawk!!!!!!

Master of voices Beatles McCartney Lennon Elvis Bowie Jeff lynne

Hey people several months ago, let's say 6 or so I was listening to Beatle vids on Youtube. I ran across a few vids from someone named, Steve Riks. I first heard him do, a Paul McCartney song. Than a John Lennon song. I didn't realize he was one in the same person?! His voice is amazing. He covers so many artists. He covers all the Beatle's individually.

I than watched some parodies of Ringo, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Freddie Mercury, Barry Gibb, Neil Young, all done by Steve. The jeff Lynne spot, I will post during the holidays. It is hillarious. Dig, the British humor. I laughed my ass off. His mannerisms of Macca & others are spot on.

To top it off, Steve. is from Liverpool. Fast forward to September 09 last weekend while watching Steve's vids-I read: "Steve had been banned from Youtube" What a bunch of crap. Say what ~ Banned?! They're not serious are they? Get a grip Youtube!

Millions of people remake songs, cover songs, cover bands etc. WTF? this guy is a genius. A comedian, impressionist, vocalist-you name it. His vocal range is amazing. Youtube needs to allow Steve to come back. This is bogus, stating copy right violations? Better Ban half the videos & people on youtube than, Youtube.
I spent hours last week watching Steve's vids I would be flattered if I was the artist being parodied. I laughed, watched and listened to them over and over. This guy is the real deal :) I love him!

after a moving tribute from Madonna - Man that was deep, than a spectacular tribute to Michael Jackson- which almost moved me to tears. Taylor Swift beat out Beyonce, Pink and Lady Gaga for Best female Video. As she went on stage Kanye West followed. Grabbing the Mic from her saying. "I'm really happy for you but, Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time" . Taylor, stood there stunned!~

Even tho, I don't care for Kanye.. that WAS pretty balls'y of him. I agree. Taylor swift didn't deserve that Moon Man!~ What was MTV thinking? The song is bubble gum crap and the vid nothing special. Kayne, took a stand and voiced his opinion. I know what he meant! One thing about award shows there is always a surprise or two....

Kanye West, Rhianna & Jay Z just appeared on Lay Leno's new show about 5 ago. Before their performance. Jay sat down with Kanye & asked him about last nights VMA's. Jay asked "tough day?" Kanye was humble, admitted he was wrong. He was Rude- says Kanye.
Kanye says he's gonna take a look at himself.. Well for me. I liked Kanye's realness who says 'he is going to apologize to Swift in person'... OK.

hb. She/ Taylor, still, didn't deserve the award - I give Kanye, props, for standing up, admitting he was wrong, he is human. He gained some respect from me.

I have to say "I'm Down" I Got a Feeling" and "Taxman" had to be some of the high lights for me, on this trip!!! They rawked, so hard and it was cool that Paul sang a couple verses my way of "I'm Down" & "Paperbackwriter" or he coulda been lookin over my shoulder at Elsa, singing to her? lmao!!~

The gig was really cool besides the dimwitted security. The crowd really started to warm up half way thru the gig as I had said before. Lots of happy intoxicated folks! ha.. I saw that Paul & The band felt this too The energy was amazing! when the concert ended I attempted to find my friends who did NOT have access to my area. I had to walk what seemed like a mile, an hour plus later. None of the staff in their golf carts would help me at all.

Once, I found the gang we went to some crummy lil hamburger joint. I had ice tea and water. We were there for over an hour. Laughin really silly from exhaustion. It was fun talking about seeing Macca & The band. We dropped off some people at their hotel.. Than it was off to the airport for me & Mike.. Mike off to Mexico and me back to Cali. Remember I had been up since 8:30 am the previous morning.

The Dallas airport was a ghost town & 3am and I was dog tired. I said my goodbyes to my friends and off I went into the airport with the glaring lights and uncomfortable chairs. I closed my eyes hoping to fall asleep. 3 hrs later I boarded the plane headed for Denver. I had to transfer- than boarded a plane for San Jose- Dang I still couldn't sleep and rested my eyelids the entire way. Once I arrived in Cali I took a cab home, took a shower than it was off to work! YES WORK! whew I had made it!

I have no regrets at all going to Dallas- Glad to meet up with friends, happy to meet Rusty after all these years & I loved the Soundcheck. It was fairly expensive. It could have been a cheaper if I had my way. The food fantastic. Shelly a doll & the other wonderful fans that I met brill. I wish I could have finally met Paul :) maybe next time!

Hello people, it's friday- late night and I'm still trying to re collect my thoughts of Macca & The band at The Dallas Cowboy's Stadium-whew! It might take me a day or two, too complete the actual post. It's going to be a long one so please stay tuned!! It was a great experience! (hope the pics came out)

Dallas airport ha!
I arrived at DFW around 10:05 pm Tuesday night waiting on friends to pick me up outside .. My mom called.. So we talked a lil bit about the Beatles. I said Mom you don't understand?! Paul< The music & God are the only ones that have been with me- all my life.. Oh, I don't understand says my mom. I do understand!

Lemme tell you, when you were a toddler, your father was learning how to play acoustic guitar- and all he would ever play was 'Hey Jude' Over & over and over & over..
Well did he play it well?..................Eventually!....... he did...., says my mom..

I hate, 'Hey Jude' she said. He would play it non stop all the time! He than, learned to play other Beatles songs and got rather good at it!~ So, It's been ingrained in you since you began to walk, The Beatles music that is..

I just want to thank Paul for being with me all my life, I tell her.. God & The music have been there for you- not Paul, she said. I do understand, why, you love the music so much and it started with your father & Hey Jude. Geez~ mom.

An hour & 20 mins later, my friends, picked me up ..as I stood outside the airport it was hot & breezy... Yeah! so here is Nellie & Mike to pick me up at the airport. I had worked part of the day my flight was delayed so they put me on an AA flight I arrived an hour earlier.. It was about 2am when we went to bed.. Up at 8:30am 6 1/2 hes sleep!

We gotta see Rusty at Guitar Center!

So we get ready to meet Rusty, than to the airport to pick up Miguel who flew in from Mexico, than back to the Cowboy's Stadium- So off we went, to The guitar Center, to meet Rusty Anderson buy his Cd etc.. We made a quick stop at the store to get a belt.. my shorts were too big!! lol than off we were..

I said Rusty, Dude, you can't leave yet. We just got here! It's me the one with the black hat! I showed him the black Macca hat. He smiled and asked me my name.. I was gonna tell him harleyblues, I told him my name.

I couldn't get over, how tall, Rusty was- with very blue eyes. Finally, after all these years it was cool to meet Rusty. He is a brilliant guitar player. He said he had to leave. I told him it was early it was 1:45 pm he turns to leave and says

Got $10 bucks? Yes, got change for a $20 we pull out dollars .. I tell Rusty see you at the Sound Check. Oh, that pesky sound check Rusty said.. lol he hands me his new Cd unsigned.
I feel silly to ask any of the band for a siggygraph :)

See you at the gig he says with a nice smile & tap of the shoulder. He was out the door.. Nellie, didn't get a chsance to meet Rusty, still fumbling with her camera- all the while asking Nellie if she has gotten a piccie of Rusty? Rusty gets into his car when a blond women name Sherry runs up to his car and hands him a Boquet of flowers. As I looked on I give Rusty, a peace sign, and I'm guessing he threw one back as the windows were tinted... I saw a hand gesture of some type LOL~

Than it was a mad dash to DFW airport!

so I now have my camera being charged cuz It died during the gig.. so its gonna be hours beofore I'm able to download piccies- Ok, I know! :)

We went to pick up Miguel, who had flown into Dallas from Mexico. It was his FIRST EVER MCCARTNEY GIG How cool is that?! We were in a hurry, since I had to be at the Sound Check by 3:45pm.
First stop was Best Buy, as I wasn't sure what camera to buy. I had got piccies at The David Lynch charity gig with my Blackberry. didn't have my Blackberry in Las Vegas t- when Paul was at the Joint. Didn't have a camera , or my blackberry the first night of Citi Field, NY Had it the 2nd night.. took some cool pics. However, as you know, my Blackberry was stolen. I was determined to have a camera for Dallas. so I got me a Nikon 5 "Z point & shoot. My first digital camera. I was worried how pics would come out.

We got to the Cowboys Stadium with a quickness and the Hospitality people & Security wouldn't LET US IN!
They said I needed a blue pass- well it's kinda ironic when we were on our way to the stadium Fed Ex called and said they had my package.. you know the laminent & the Souvenir.. Sorry, I can't pick it up I'm in Texas, on the way to the Cowboys stadium! Thank Goodness they finally let us in the parking lot since I had printed out the instructions for the VIP Sound Check- We waited another half hour than inside we went~ woohooo

Ok here is the short version of what happened at the sound check......

Ms. Shelly, as I found out her name to be, ( she works for Paul) leads us into the stadium talkin about the huge video screens and how beautiful the stadium was... She was fun, gracious & down to earth :)
we were let inside.. were were like 10 15 feet or so in front of the sound board... so it takes awhile for Paul to come out....

Shelly said, get up sing dance take piccie's it's OK today!!~

So there is "Scotty" Brian and he gives me a warm welcome and a small kiss on the cheek ..' this ones trouble' he laughed, with his lovely accent.. he is so nice to the fans..

Rusty, Abe, Brian and Wix were on stage.. finally, after what seemed like half an hour here comes Paul.. white shirt electric blue cool jacket light pants

birkenstocks. (sp).. and black glasses comes out we all cheered.. don't ask me what he played at the sound check??

Paul, said he was inquiring again.. about the sign. .at times it was hard to hear what Paul was actually saying?.. you caught bits and pieces..

Liverpool 03 whats the name of it Liz? he was talkin to the sound guys, welcomed us.. and read the list were we were all from..Me from California.

so I began takin snaps.. and singing and dancing around.. some had signs and I held mine p.. he said I can't read the sign.. he held up his hands like they were a pair of binoculars.... tryin to see I didn't think he was talking to me..Cos I thought the sign was big enuff?
(I put on the Macca Hat ) Paul said he couldn't read- our signs again- since we were far away)_..
I didn't know what he was saying.part of the time.. as he and the band were laughing hard on stage.. I was saying "Rock it out Paul!" Of course, I was being very silly. F man, this is Paul McCartney!..Have fun! Paul brings allot of Happiness & Joy to the Heart & Spirit..

You over there- yes you!.. Hello! Hello! I'm talking to you -again says Paul.. I'm talking to you now..I'm "inquiring now" - says Paul.. lmao I screamed to Paul do you want me to take up the sign. .so you can read it? had no idea whether he heard me or not?! There was alot of echo!!!

Sept 1 I got a min. to post a few lines..

Paul, had noticed fans peakin their heads into the stadium from the concourse sec. hanging onto the fence and cheering for Paul as they looked on. Paul got a kick out of it...said something to the fact- I didn't notice you over there?

When the sound check was over we were lead off to a private area. with cool pendant lights hanging around the bar area, tables scattered here & there to sit down for some eats.
.
The dinner was veggie and yes, it was good. One of the waitresse's kept stealing our plates. dangit, we hadn't finished our meals- she took my plate with them lil hand sized desserts on it- sheeesh.

As I sat there, I could see the band the Script playing. It was cool in a way to sit there to eat and drink. looking out the window, onto the floor..before I knew it I had to get out to my seat. Tthe Script was about to finish their set. The Script was quite good!------

Security not the greatest again

I was in the 5th row near the isle.. pretty close. Talked to some people I knew and asked security if we could move up front once the gig started. He said it would be fine..

I stood their talkin to people. and was aksed to go to my seat, but of course, I told him they security in the pit said it was OK for me to stand there.

Dallas security gave me a bunch of crap I wasn't doing a thing. I don't appreciate being talked to in a rude manner.

Paul and the band were to come out any minute..Out they come doing the same set as in past gigs...

I suddenly made a dash for it into the front row. a bunch of people had ran up. No one was being disorderly I took a couple pics & sang N danced. I get a tap on my shoulder. May I see your ticket please? Sure I gave security my ticket. he says come now lets go back our seats. I told him security .....told us it was ok?

He said something. I couldn't understand. as I took me seat. a security in a black shirt in the pit stopped Dallas security and said.:

"Oh kick her out as she's been trouble all day for security. Throw her out for all I care. Call Dallas Police!" WTF?

What are you talkin about I told him? I wasn;t there all day. I had the VIP ticket! WTF?!! I told dallass security I wasn't doing a thing. He smiled and said- just stay in your seat. OK-wow~.

That bald headed guy kept looking at me the entire gig what a fuckin jerk.. Some of the people sitting directly in front of Paul and the band were rather sedate. Things didn't really start jumpin until bout half way thru the gig.

Right away Paul and Brian had noticed me and how can they not, with my Macca hat.. heheheh I held up my sign and Paul kinda mouthed the words. I'll read it later...smiling.. awww that was nice.

One of highlights of the gig were Yesterday- Paul almost began to cry. It was a first from what I can recall.. It really moved me I kinda got misty too..

Was Paul recalling his life. the memories of Yesterday? Was he missing Linda, John, George?

It doesn't matter how many times you attend a McCartney concert everyone is different, special and personal, than the one before.

I noticed Paul's girlfriend a few rows back in the 10th row dancing in the isle she was having a good time. But of course. Dallas security bothered her at one point too. What's with the over zealous security? Damn already..

The crowd seemed to get really warmed up around the 2nd part of the concert. People were drinkin. I tell you. Lots of intoxicated fans, trying to creep up and get a better look of Macca & The band. It was a sight as security escorted them back to their seats..

We're Really Rawkin in Boston Says Paul!

what a great week for the thousands of fans, who attended Paul McCartney's, two gigs this past week. if that wasn't enuff, Paul surprises, at least, 3 fans, without a doubt, and beyond their wildest dreams..ahahaha- see below... Dang, isn't nice to be acknowledge by Paul McCartney himself!?

What a magical night with Sir Paul!!! I can't believe this concert surpassed the others I've been too!

The utmost highlight was *******Meeting PAUL!!!! It happened as the soundcheck was concluding........(which is a misnomer, since it was actually a mini-concert). Twin and I brought signs to use during the concert since we were very close to the stage..........decided to pull them out near the end of the soundcheck! We each held a sign......mine said: "Please, Please Sign" and sis's said: "Our Twin Tops". We came armed with silver sharpies (just in case ), we wore identical "The Beatles" tank tops, and Paul (who by the way, has very GOOD eyesight) read it from where all of us were standing watching.............we had nothing to lose!

Soundcheck ends, and we're about to start filing out when Paul's security guy is motioning in our direction........I nudged Sis and we walked in his direction, not really believing what was happening! He asked us to follow him towards the stage.........we kept going along the stage front, then went around to the backstage, up the stairs and there was Paul waiting for us! It was so surreal and we had no time to really prepare!!!! Paul was SO gracious and smiling, being his charming self.....he seemed a bit hot from the humid weather.....

He had some "handlers" there and asked us what we wanted signed, and we told him the shirts we were wearing!!! So I fumbled and pulled out the Sharpie and Paul asked his security guy to hold the fabric straight and he proceeded to sign-away, much to my incredible delight!!! He seemd so intent to sign a great and clear autograph. His tour photographer was snapping away while this was all happening.......Sis then got hers signed and we said a quick "Thank You Paul!!! and kissed him on his cheek.................

Such a WOW moment that I'll never forget. Caught up with Podgie at the veggie dinner and enjoyed the festive atmosphere............We barely got to our seats before Paul came out, which really took us by surprise (and a lot of other fans)..........he totally rocked out and sounded better than years past! My favorites were: "Something", "Day in The Life"........"I Saw Her Standing There", and many more!!! Loved "All My Loving" during the soundcheck, one of my alltime personal favourites.............

We're Really Rawkin in Boston say's Paul
Where did this saying- come from? Many might have said it before. However when I heard the news, of Paul playing Boston, I knew, one fan, Podgie. would be pleased as all get out, that Macca & the boys would be playin on his own home town... once again.. like myself, Podgie, had a special sign made about Boston which Paul, aknowledged & signed a few years back. Read about the signs history and what Paul said at saturday night gig- check this!

The sign has quite a history, going back to 2002. Paul read it as he did an interview entering the Fleetcenter in Boston, and closed the show saying "Tonight, We were REALLY Rocking in Boston! See ya next time!" as he looked to us. He remembered the sign when I talked to him on the Rockline radio show.

When I met him at the "High In the Clouds" book signing, he said "Hey, you're the sign guy from Boston!...I liked the sign!"
In 2005, he actually came out of his way to sign the second iteration of the sign at the Fleetcenter.
At the CD/DVD signing he drew a picture of me, I am sure because of his rememberance of me and the sign.

Actually in 2002, my daughter held the sign, and she was Sweet Little Sixteen at the time! There was multiple meaning in the sign that year!
I figured he would be looking for the sign in Boston again! I held it up the first of the two Fenway shows, and he nodded at me. The second show he came out with the words, without me holding up the sign. After he said the words, I did put it up though, and got a wave and thumbs up.
I think in the second soundcheck Paul may have gotten a bit miffed as it seemed quite a few held up signs to sign stuff...and rather than dealing with everyone he decided to ignore the signs. I can't blame him, he did seem tired and less energetic in the soundcheck (I am sure saving his energy for the show).

I was guilty too, as I was hoping to get a photo of Paul with the sign. How cool would that have been? I am picturing the band holding the sign and Paul in front of it...would have been great for inclusion in the CD or DVD that comes out for the tour. Oh well, not to be.
The soundchecks were awesome! The shows were awesome! Actually, my whole summer has been awesome! I dread going back to work on Monday!

I'm very Happy for Martha My Dear, her sister, and Podgie Way to Go!!! Now everyone knows where- We're Really Rawkin in Boston came from!! hehehehe~ :)

Paul McCartney's Final Tour Rumours Let's Not Freak OUT!

Beatle's and McCartney fans knew this day would come, eventually. According to The Sun.co.uk
Paul McCartney is planing a massive, final tour, next year, in 2010. I am sad to see this happen.

afternoon sometime.

Yesterday, I read the news, like millions of other people. There are rumours of a McCartney FINAL TOUR! Damn I hoped this wasn't true! Paul, is NOT, calling it quits!!!!!

The finality of it all, left me saddened and wondering? Is Paul actually gonna hang up his Hofner? The past few weeks some close friends and I, have been discussing this same issue. When will Paul call it quits? He has young Bea, his new woman Nancy, he is at a certain age, Is it coming to a point of a"Macca retirement" so he may enjoy his life besides playing for his legions of wild & crazy, diehard fans? Paul McCartney isn't gonna stop touring people! .

Is there any truth in the rumour at all? There is a great lil interview from the Washington Post, dated July 30th that seems to clear up some of the mystery as to IF or when Paul McCartney will retire.

He acknowledges that he has thought about retirement, but not seriously and certainly not soon. "It's what everyone else does, and that thought has to occur to you," he says. "Even 15-year-olds will be looking at the year 65 and think that's probably when I'll retire," he says. "But strange things happen in music. You look at people like Tony Bennett, B.B. King -- people who are as good if not better than they were. And you sort of think, oh! And you look at that as your beacon kind of thing. Plus, the thing is, I always said when people don't want to come and I'm struggling, then I have to look at it more seriously . . . I certainly couldn't just give it up like that. I like it too much."

Yep Paul, I totally agree You say the audiance is healing? Well, YOUR music, is totally healing as I have written many a time on my blog here.I can't wait to see you agian & Rawk out with you and your brillaint band!

Well, I am relieved and estatic to know Macca, isn't retiring anytime soon as a final farwell tour, indicates all over, the damn net. Diehard fans can't help but panic when the news dropped yesterday. Heavey sigh. Like Paul says- don't believe eveything you read.in the media... So rest your lil heads. Paul, isn't gonna stop touring anytime soon!! :):) Be happy, Rejoice! Happy Feet Snoopy Dance! wooohooooo!

OK, so I am way tired right at this moment. Getting outta San Fran airport yesterday was grueling. Someone clipped me for my blackberry between the shuttle ride or JFK Yesterday. Yes, I am upset about it!!~ I hope, should some kind soul happen to- find it? I hope they do the right thing. Yeah, with all the piccies from the gigs on the fone dangit on top of it.

I can pray for a good out come.. right :)

Anyhow, I will post properly about Citi Field later. I can tell you this. Paul and the band were on HIT!!! It rained hard -Friday. Billy Joel was a surprise. Saturdays gig was better my opinion. The sound quality better, much much better. The crowd also much better, As for myself. I was up near the front both nights Friday much better since I was closer thanx to security ( I know I am back and fourth ha!)

There was so much security at these gigs: New York's finest, Jerry a 13yr vet I met. in A1 sec. liked my hat and took a piccie of it. He was friendly. Than you had the Boss's white shirt dudes. One very friendly guy said hello twice both nights. Than the Supervisors in tan shirts. Than maroon shirt front line security. The security on Friday were very friendly in the A1 sec. near the stage. Lammont, Jim or Jimmie & others who I didn't get their names, too bad. Thank you for being a friendly, NICE, bunch. Saturday's bunch, you guys sucked!! more on that later.

Oh, did I mention I lost my tix on the way into Saturdays gig?!

Friday started out to be a great day with the exception on catching a cab.. hahahaha it took 45 min.s to get to Citi Field.. most cab drivers, we came into, wouldn't take us to the stadium we were getting a bit worried wodering if we would ever get to the gig.. Once there we enetered the Bullpen enterance.. the energy was high at Citi field all staff friendly & warm. I liked that!..went to sit down and saw few a fans from Paul McCartney.com they nusta noticed the hat. :). The Script, came on they weren't too bad. Love the songy "Rusty Nail" & a few others.. It seemed the Scriot were a bit nervous as Friday nights crowd were luke warm to the band. But when the lead singer mentioned Paul McCartney's name, the crowds ears perked up with cheers. I thought the Script were very good.. Better on Saturday..

I went down towards the front of the stage since I was in this sec. A1. I asked security if I may stand here during the gig. Sure, they said they didn't mind. Wow, they were a great bunch there on Friday night. Laughing and joking around they placed a guard rail up so we couldn't go past-fare enuff It was a great spot. They didn't let anyone past on friday. Until the middle of the gig. I must say, I'm down was one of the best joints of the entire gig.

I dropped my mouth in amazement cuz Paul has never down this one before. a huge WOW! No It was Effin Brilliant Paul!! the video posted below does it no justice.. The sound was slightly off on fri's gig however it was crystal clear & qualty on Sats. gig..Paul joked with the crowd when he first did this at Shea Stadium years ago all he heard were screams from the girls.. All the females in the house began to scream & I mean scream loud.. Well shouldn't we? heheheheh There was alot of impromptu jamin during both nights that got the fans going. Billy Joel, came on stage to the surprise of everyone sitting at the piano doing Saw her Standing There with Paul & The Band pounding the keys.

It began to rain early on. Than really hard!! hahahah I didn't mind. It was cool I thought. when fan gave me an extra garbage bag which I held over my head..Loved the rain. during Band On The Run a huge bucket or tarp posted at the front of the stage on top came down in a huge pour the band jumped back. During this time Paul & The band looked towards my direction. I think they saw me, no one was in front of me, as I waved and danced around. I was soo into fridays nights gig I had so much fun!!!! Paul asked if we minded the rain? No we all chimed. Another Highlight was a Day in a Life/ Give Peace a Chance. It was a moment. I got goose bumps I looked into the sea of people posted up top-amazing. It was a moment. as was Paul ded. Here Today to John an emotional rendition. He almost began to cry &; I said awww Paul, don't cry. This got me misty. A beautiful My Love ded. to Linda. Linda a lovely girl from New York, Linda loved New York. Paul said, This is ded. to her and all the Lovers in the house. You know who you are..

It was such a wild good time Friday night - I was so proud of Paul and the Band. woohooooo! I can't remember much more ofFridays gig. I Got A Feeling was an extended version with The guys wailing on the guitars,,,, that was truly rawkin! As was, Mrs Vanderbuilt- Got to Get You Into My Life- Day Tripper-Calico Skies-Helter Skelter. Will post, as memory recalls..hahahahaha When we exited Citi Field we went to catch the 7 train back to Manhattan. Suddenly, thousands of people began to sing a Beatles song. Trying to find video, ha!

So, Saturday we decided to take the 7 train to Citi Field- nice lil ride..Aafter walking under the bridge on the way to the Bull pin trying to figure out where we were? I noticed that my tickets that I had just purchased hours ago were gone!!~ Oh, HELL NO!!! We retraced our steps and than, the blackberry rings? Hello? is this christina? Yes, This is guest services- We found your tickets. OMG! I couldnn't belive it. I went over and met up with Scott seen right with me. He handed over the tickets.

Man, I hugged him and thanked him so much for finding them. Evidently, he saw the tix fell outta the bag. Wheew, close call, I had purchased these tix has tix for the floor sec. why? becuz security told me, the night before, IF, you happen to get to the floor we will let you into the front!!! wooohooo right on! So inside we went. It was decided that we would give away these extra 2 tix to fans that were seated in the 503 sec.the tip top of the stadium. This took me bout an hour to find someone who, didn't need more tix, weren't with family members or weren't paranoid. HA! I finally found two sisters sitting down in front of the rest rooms eating some lucnh. I offered them the tix and told them the story of getting the upgrades. I walked them to sec 129 Guest services, wouldn't let me walk them to their seats. I told the man, I am on the floor and showed my wrist band. We'll you need to go to the floor than he rudely said.

Wow, did he have to be so rude? this was the first of the day a huge difference from the day before. when people at Citi Field were so nice. So after milling around I finally took me seat. than went down and talked with security, I stood at the guard rail & waved my friend over to come and join me.. Me friend managed to get around the guard rail and too the front somehow. after several songs. I asked if I could come around the guard rail. Well Danny or Donnie T told me "No, Get back over there" WTF?! I felt the tears welling up. But security said I could?. I couldn't move. I was pissed. I even ran into the supervisor of that area, Who said Well, there is 85,000 people here they have to control the crowd.

I informed him or his guy's demeanor. Well it happens to the best of us. That's an excuse. I am only one person. I spent extra money only to be lied to by Citi Field security, What a freakin drag. All the while people were filling in around the guard rail 5 rows deep without the security tellin, THEM, to get back to where they were standing. It messed up my night as I tried to scramble to find tix, that day, for floor to Saturday night. I was trying to cheer myself up towards the last hour or so singing with Paul & The Band. I noticed Rusty pointing over my way during "Saw her Standing There" that made me laugh & smile. Saturdays gig was much better in sound quality. Paul & The Band seemed to be having fun!!!~ more details later hb~

HarleyBlues is in New York attending the Citi Field shows. She just called in a glowing report of last night's show, the first at the now historic Citi Field.

HarleyBlues reports Paul and his band were really rockin' the stage and the New York fans. There was some rain, but it didn't dampen the spirit of the show.

HarleyBlues exclaimed that "I'm Down" was the one of the best songs of the night, so I found a video on YouTube.

We're thinking that maybe Paul is performing some of the songs The Beatles did back at Shea Stadium.

Special guest Billy Joel was on piano for "I Saw Her Standing There," probably returing the favor since Paul also joined him during his last show at Shea Stadium.

Other highlights from the evening:
Mark remarked that Citi Field must be in the direct path for air traffic bound for JFK airport. So Paul took advantage of the live sound effects to play "Back In The USSR."

"Give Peace A Chance" was dedicated to John Lennon. Paul also brought out the ukelele for "Something," dedicated to George Harrison.

Opening band (from Ireland) "The Script" must have been overwhelmed by the excitement of the evening. Can you imagine the exposure they will get from this tour?

There was spontanious singing at the end of the concert, while fans were waiting for the subway. Video is probably on YouTube somewhere, I'll post it later if I can find it.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
I made my sign that said "Will you please sign my arm so I can get it tattooed on?" and I held it up during Calico Skies because I knew he was going to talk about signs afterwords. The first time he saw it he looked so puzzled!!! Newxt thing I know I'm climbing over the barricade and

Then he asked me where I wanted it and I pointed and all I could say was OH MY GOD!!! Then I turned to leave and I saw Rusty and decided to give him a hug too....then I thought, well, why not the whole band!!!! So I went to Brian and then went over to Abe and told him that I saw him with Eric Clapton like a week and a half ago, then I got up and gave Wix a hug!!! ........Audrey's new Macca tattoo above

They were going to put me back in the crowd, but I was freaking out so much that they took me to the medic tent and I sat there crying with happiness and drinking water. Then when they went to put me back into my spot Paul said "Ah here she comes, all tattooed!" and was looking at me and I mouthed "I love you, I love you so much!"

I've got an appointment today at 5 to get it tattooed on!!! The reality still hasn't sunk in!!!

Hey people how are you this fine day? I have had computer problems unable to post, however I am back on now. I like to say that the meorial to Michael Jackson was touching and uplifting. I was able to view it via CNN.com. A huge thankyou to CNN for the rebroadcast.

I was touched by Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee's message. You go Shelia, that was a brilliant message! Jermaine Jackson's "Smile" tribute to his brother. I got goose bumps to such a loving tribute. Ushers "Gone to soon" than walking down to Michael's beautiful casket. That gave me chills and well up. I was very teary. Stevie Wonder's tribute was absolutely haunting- I never dreamed you'd leave in Summer" & "My Destiny"- posted below. Listen to the lyrics!~

Also, the lil statement made by Michael's lil girl pulled at my heart. 'he was the best father in the world' than clinging on to auntie Janet..didn't this get us all? I am really hoping if, there was any foul play as father, Joe Jackson claims, the investigators get em all. May Michael Jackson rest in Peace -now. I love seeing all the tributes!

The Beatles Catalog Controversy
Last year I had written a post - it was rumoured Michael Jackson was ill and would he actually give back the Beatles catalog, back to- Paul?. I cannot find the orginal posty here on my blog. I will continue looking.

I than wrote a post dated Jan 4th 09:
"Oh, so now Michael Jackson wants to make it up to Macca?" .I read the snippet from The Daily Mail.co.uk than posted my own opinion. I dunno if the orginal came from the Mail? But I am gonna go out on a limb and say a huge yes. Since, this is where I first read it -on the net. As I posted via the link above? "Let's see how this all pans out" I stated at the end of my own post.

One could deduct this rumour created a fire storm with news agencies and blogs around the world running with this lil tidbit of rumoured speculation creating their own spin. Fans, have wondered? I have wondered? Since Michael Jackson's, untimely demise the rumours have swirled even further. Is it true or not?! We could all guess that Paul McCartney, reads some of the news or hears about it it some way. Finally Macca has set the record straight this past week. below

Some time ago, the media came up with the idea that Michael Jackson was going to leave his share in the Beatles songs to me in his will which was completely made up and something I didn’t believe for a second.

Now the report is that I am devastated to find that he didn’t leave the songs to me. This is completely untrue. I had not thought for one minute that the original report was true and therefore, the report that I’m devastated is also totally false, so don’t believe everything you read folks!

In fact, though Michael and I drifted apart over the years, we never really fell out, and I have fond memories of our time together.

At times like this, the press do tend to make things up, so occasionally, I feel the need to put the record straight.

Ok, so it's been one week since Michael Jackson, passed away, and I am feeling sad about his passing- now, a week later. I am welling up at times. The out pour of fan tributes is very touching. I can't imagine what his mother Katherine Jackson is feeling at this time or the rest of the Jackson family, the grief must be over whelming. I saw a snippet of Matt Lauer's interview with Jermaine Jackson this eveing, very telling and honest. What a heart Jermaine is :)

Last sundays tribute to Michael Jackson on the BET awards was touching with a 4 day notice. Jamie Fox, was brilliant. I am hoping BET does a full out tribute for Michael Jackson, properly.

He looks healthly. energentic, full of life, not drugged out like some of the media are claiming. What a tragic loss. I am hoping, if there is any such possibilty that Michael could see all the LOVE and support that is being bestowed upon him now. He could smile down and be in peace I feel for his die hard fans..my Respects..

I don't know if this is rumour or true? The Jackson family, are planing a memorial for Michael this coming July 7th on Tuesday, at Staples Center in Los Angelos. IF, this had been the weekend, I would have tried to make the memorial, myself.. I think it would be a beautiful memorial to the King of POP ..Will you, be there?

Jermaine Jackson has confirmed on Larry King Live- There will be a memorial for his brother at Staples Center on July 7th @ 10am According to Anderson Cooper 360 you need to register online to get a ticket to the memorial service..

Paul McCartneys memories of Michael

I first heard from Michael when he phoned me over the Christmas holiday season in 1980 and my initial reaction was “who is this and how did he get my private telephone number?”. Michael laughed and explained who it was and, as we talked and I asked him why he was ringing, he said “Do you wanna make some hits?” and that was the start of our adventure together.

He came over to England with his close friend and minder, Billy and they visited our house in the country many times as Michael and I put together the ideas for our songs together. First of all, we came up with and finished an idea for a song I had started which became Say Say Say. We recorded in Air Studios, London with George Martin producing and eventually went to California to make the video for the song. Funnily enough, I was staying at the ranch that Michael later bought and made into Neverland.

My memories are of his great sense of humour and we seemed to spend most of the time playing around and having a laugh. He became very friendly with my family and we had lots of great times together. Although we drifted apart in later years I will always remember fondly the fun we had working and playing together. My family and I send our deepest condolences to his family and, like them, we know that his great talent will never be forgotten.

I was at work today. It was 2:30pm- someone passes me in the hall saying Michael Jackson died. There were rumours last year he had some illness's going on? Well, I had just found out a few hours earlier Farrah Fawcett has passed away from fucking cancer!

Now Michael Jackson?! It's one of those things you hoped he was just ill and would be recovering in the hospital.

No matter how you felt about Michael Jackson- He made brilliant music! Just like the Beatles, the name Michael Jackson, is known around the world. Michael Jackson was an Icon and loved so by many. Half of the world, is asleep, right now, not knowing "The King of Pop" has actually passed away~ we looked it up online while at work. The New York, Times, stated "Michael Jackson was in a coma" to see if it was actually true?

I'm not as shocked as I thought I would be- I just think it tragic, Michael, lived such a hard life as a recluse. The thing that ticked me off about Michael was The Beatle's catalog thing between him and Paul McCartney. I hope, Michael found some kinda peace in recent years. What a sad loss.

A press conference is happening right at this moment in Los Angelos 5:53pm well it was suppose to happen. Brian Oxman, The Jackson Attorney says that Michael was taking too many prescription drugs. Mr. Oxman sounds distraught over the death...rightly so.

Michael Jackson, passed away at 2:26pm at UCLA hospital-from Cardiac arrest. They attempted to resuscitate Michael, for one hour accourding to his brother Jermaine, who now, just gave a "brief" news conference. How sad, very very sad.

Michael Jackson, was scheduled to play London next week July 13th in a come back tour.

They, MSNBC, just showed the image of Michael Jackson's body being carefully transferred from a helicopter, wrapped in a white sheet, placed onto jurney, into a white panel van on it's way to the corners office. That was surreal! No fanfare, just quietly lead from the helicopter to the Corner's van.

Just a side thought. I remember Raynel- in the morning via 98.1 Kiss FM saying,. last year it was Michael Jackson's 50th birthday around 7:50am as I pulled into work. It seemed kinda shocking, cuz one wouldn't really think Michael Jackson, would ever be this age, a huge 50 a bit of reflection there. She laughed. I laughed too. It made me think of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, now gone. The huge impact these artists have made in our lives and other things~Dang, Michael now 50- again I thought..

I recall seeing The Jacksons in 1978 I believe? a Theater now closed. I was a lil kid. it was a great concert. I was so excited!! We were back stage, after the show, milling around waiting to go into the restuarant to eat. like we always did. Suddenly, here comes the Jackson family being shoo'd to their dressing room's ina hurry- when Michael says 'who's that, who are they?' smiling and pointing. Janet too. I wanted to meet The Jackson's, but they wouldn't let us, of course!!

Surely, I just about had a fit, almost cried. Ok, I probably did cry. lol The biggest band in the world at the time besides the Beatles and I couldn'ty meet em? Just a personal memory of Michael Jackson and the Jackson family.

Wonder what the fans in Europe & Japan are gonna think when the news breaks there?
