SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACK REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHRIST CHURCH OF GOD IN POTISKUM, YOBE STATE

2015-07-05T07:01:00.000-07:00

A pastor, a woman and her 2 children were killed after a male suicide bomber attacked a Redeemed Christian Church of God parish in the Jigawa area of Potiskum, Yobe state this morning June 5th. Eyewitnesses say the suicide bomber forced his way into the church at about 10am while the church service was ongoing.

Confirming the incident, the Yobe state Police Public Relations Officer ASP Toyin Gbadegesin said
“A male suicide bomber at about 10 o’clock this morning detonated a bomb at the Redeemed Church Jigawa area in Potiskum killing five persons including the suicide bomber" - he said
An eyewitness, Garba Manu while giving an account of what happened said
“I saw when the bomber alighting from a motorised rickshaw and entering the church and as soon as he entered a loud explosion ripped through the church which is under construction. I saw him walked into the church and he didn’t raise any suspicion. Five worshippers, including three females and two males were in the church when the bomber entered and they were all killed. The dismembered body of the bomber was also recovered,”

GREECE VOTES TODAY WHETHER TO REMAIN IN EU OR NOT

2015-07-05T06:44:00.000-07:00

After years of living on borrowed money and paying the price with savage austerity, Greeks are voting Sunday for more of the same (more or less) or for a rupture with Europe that could spell disaster.
Fears the central bank of Greece will collapse following today's referendum are rising as voters flocked to the polls to decide on their country's future.
Officials are set to ask the European Central Bank (ECB) for emergency cash in a bid to stave off financial ruin following tonight's result, it has been reported.
It comes as some sources also suggested ATMs will not open this evening in a bid to save money after EU leaders threatened to withdraw the euro in the event of a 'No' vote

Pensioners were also pictured queuing outside branches, with many banks telling them they would not be opening their doors.
The measures have turned many people towards the 'No' vote.
Eleni Deligainni, 43, said: 'I voted 'No' to the 'Yes' that our European partners insist I choose.
'I have been jobless for nearly four years and was telling myself to be patient... but we've had enough deprivation and unemployment.'
Ioannis Nikolaou, from Athens, added: 'I voted for Tsipras and want to vote 'No' because I've lived in Europe and know what rights Europeans and Greeks have. For that reason alone. They don't have the same rights.'
But other residents think the only way the country will stave off financial ruin is by voting 'Yes'.
Yannis Kontis, 76, said: 'You call this dignity, to stand in line at teller machines for a few euros? I voted 'Yes' so we can stay with Europe.'
Conservative opposition leader Antonis Samaras added: 'Today, we Greeks decide on the fate of our country. We vote 'Yes' to Greece. We vote 'Yes' to Europe.'
Yesterday Greece was warned it is risking the collapse of its health system and power network - as well as a blockade on imports - if it votes 'No' in today's referendum.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER MAY BE STRIPPED OF HIS 147 IBS CHAMPIONSHIP BELT

2015-07-04T11:33:00.001-07:00

According to the World Boxing Organization, Floyd is likely to be stripped of his 147 lbs. championship belt (the belt he won from Manny Pacquiao) on Monday for failing to comply with organization rules.

The WBO expected Floyd to vacate the WBA and WBO 154 lbs. belt for the 147 lbs. title and has not done so, which is resulting in this consequence.

This confiscation is ironic seeing as how Floyd made a statement back in March about relinquishing his titles and ending his career with a perfect record.
He later backtracked on that statement, for what his attorney called, “sufficient time to decide whether or not he really wants to vacate.”
Floyd Mayweather never looked like the type to follow rules anyways.

Torch skyscraper in Dubai is on fire

2015-02-21T00:22:00.000-08:00

A fire has swept through the Torch skyscraper in Dubai, one of the tallest residential buildings in the world.

Strong winds helped the blaze to spread across the 336.1m (1,105ft) high building in the marina district.

One eyewitness told the BBC "there was debris flying everywhere, falling into neighbouring buildings". The fire was later extinguished.

It is not known what caused the blaze. Hundreds of people were evacuated and there are no reports of any casualties.

"In an hour-and-a-half the fire is almost out on about 60 floors, it looks like mostly the outer apartments that are damaged," eyewitness Rola told the BBC.

She said it looked like the blaze had started on the 50th floor.

"It's an iconic building, people were out on balconies all around it watching - even though it was 3am [23:00 GMT Saturday]," she said.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2015: lovely pictures

2015-02-19T03:54:00.000-08:00

The shows from Days 5 and 6 gave us quite the eyeful, while serving as a reminder that sometimes it's the simplest trends (colorblock dresses, oversize trousers, unfussy midis) that can make the most impact. And just when we thought we might be heading into NFYW-overdrive, the frothiest, dreamiest and lust-worthiest of gowns hit the stage from the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa and Naeem Khan. Room for pause, indeed.

Ukraine President calls for UN peacekeepers after the separatists took over Debaltseve

2015-02-19T01:33:00.000-08:00

President Petro Poroshenko has called for UN peacekeepers to be deployed to eastern Ukraine to enforce a ceasefire.

At an emergency security meeting, he said such a force would help guarantee security "in a situation where the promise of peace is not being kept".

His comments came after Ukrainian troops withdrew from the strategic city of Debaltseve after intense fighting.

The rebel advance on Debaltseve, which came in spite of the ceasefire agreed last week, has been widely condemned.

Mr Poroshenko's request was approved by Ukraine's national security and defence council at the emergency meeting on Wednesday night.

"The issue was discussed and a decision has been taken to appeal to the UN and the EU concerning the setting up in Ukraine of a peacekeeping and security operation," council secretary Olexander Turchynov told reporters.

The move came after President Poroshenko said almost 2,500 Ukrainian soldiers had withdrawn from Debaltseve on Wednesday.
Rebel spokesman Eduard Basurin said the town was now "completely under the control" of the separatists, with just "scattered" pockets of resistance that were being "neutralised".

He claimed that more than 300 government soldiers had been taken prisoner. Ukraine's government admitted some troops were being held.

Terrence Howard My Ex Is sending Death Threats

2015-02-18T03:29:00.002-08:00

"Empire" star Terrence Howard ex-wife is threatening him,
TMZ has obtained a search warrant to determine if Michelle Ghent is behind a barrage of Instagram threats, including, "I'm watching you! I'm coming for ... LOL. You two won't live to see your children." The "you two" appears to refer to Terrence and his new wife.

Another Instagram post warns his wife, "Your husband is cheating on you! Just thought you should know." The message was sent with a photo of Terrence and another woman.
And there's this ... there's a pic of a pill bottle that belonged to Terrence with the caption, "Oh dear, look what I found. Do hope you refilled. It's one of the things you can't leave home without."
The LAPD claims in the search warrant affidavit, there's reason to believe Michelle is behind the postings. One reason ... the Instagram accounts have no followers except for her.
The LAPD got a judge to sign the warrant and they have gone on the hunt to find out if she's behind it.
Terrence says he's been getting nasty posts for a year ... and he filed a police report because he believes she's the culprit.
Michelle tells TMZ, she did not send the messages and claims the LAPD has talked to her and she's no longer a suspect.

Bobbi Kristina’s Family Set to Pull life support On Anniversary of Whitney’s Death

2015-02-10T07:36:00.000-08:00

Relatives of Bobbi Kristina Brown, who has been in a medically induced coma for more than 10 days, have reportedly agreed to let her die tomorrow - the same date as her mother.

The daughter of the late Whitney Houston, and singer Bobby Brown, was found face down in a bath tub and was later discovered with bruises over her body and face.

She has been in a medically induced coma ever since and relatives are now thought to be discussing allowing her to die tomorrow, Page Six reported.

Cissy Houston, grandmother to Miss Brown, suggested the family turn off the machine so that the 21-year-old could be allowed to die on Wednesday, which will be the same date as her late mother.

Whitney Houston died on February 11, 2012, after being found in a bath at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

A police source told DailyMail.com on Thursday that Miss Brown's life support had already been turned off, but patients can live for a number of days after this artificial assistance has been withdrawn. Bobby Brown previously denied they were preparing to say goodbye to his daughter.

Cissy Houston, seen arriving at Emory University Hospital on Monday to visit her granddaughter, reportedly suggested that the family turn off Miss Brown's life support so she can die on the same day as her mother.

Bruce Jenner Involved in Fatal Car Accident; One Person Dead and five children hospitalized

2015-02-07T21:45:00.000-08:00

Reality TV personality Bruce Jenner was involved in a horrific car accident on the famed Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA., on Saturday. Witnesses say the accident occurred when Jenner, 65, rear ended a white car, killing the female driver and causing a four car pileup.

The former Olympic gold medalist was photographed at the scene of the serious accident around noon on Saturday. The four car pile-up occurred at a notorious accident blackspot on the famous coastal road.

According to gossip tabloid TMZ.com, Bruce told cops he was being chased by at least 5 paparazzi just prior to the accident. He said he had not been drinking and he offered to take a field sobriety test.

This couldn’t come at a worse time for Jenner, who is scheduled to sit down with Diane Sawyer to discuss his “transition” into a transgender woman. Jenner has reportedly requested to be called “Belinda” after his sex change surgery.

Jenner rear ended the female driver of a white car. That car was forced into oncoming traffic and struck head on by a Humvee.

Whitney Houston’s only daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown to be taken off life support

2015-02-05T09:59:00.003-08:00

There's nothing more doctors can do for Bobbi Kristina -- and they've told Bobby Brown it's time to withdraw life support ...

Family sources tell us the decision is now in Brown's hands -- but we're told he's refusing to make the painful choice today, and instead wants to wait until after the weekend.

The timing could not have been worse. Today is Bobby Brown's birthday.

We're told Brown has been hopeful his daughter can beat the odds because someone in his extended family battled out of a coma after 8 days.

Bobbi Kristina was moved to Emory University Hospital Tuesday because the facility has a world class neurological department, but it appears doctors have determined there's no hope.

Bobbi Kristina has been in a medically-induced coma since Saturday, when she was found face down in her bathtub.

Jehovah’s Witness Bans Members From Voting For Jonathan Or Buhari

2015-01-31T04:16:00.004-08:00

As Nigerians prepare to elect new leaders that will run the affairs of the country in the next four years, members of Jehovah’s Witness have been banned from participating in the electoral process and by implication, they are forbidden from voting for any candidate or contesting in any election.

They claimed that participating in an election was satanic and contrary to God’s commandment.

P.M.NEWS findings revealed that members of Jehovah’s Witness were warned not to obtain voter’s cards and that they should not vote during the elections.

The directive was not a mere order as any member found participating or voting during the elections will be excommunicated.

When our reporter spoke to some of the members who confirmed the directive, they claimed that the order was right because they are still waiting for the kingdom of God that is yet to be establshed on earth.

A minister in the congregation, James Uduok, explained that every member of Jehovah’s Witness knows that participating in election is satanic and contrary to the will of God.

Uduok said that the teaching of the Witness was strongly embedded in the Bible and all members must adhere strictly to the teaching or leave the congregation.

The members defended their decision not to vote or get involved in the electoral process by quoting Mathew 6: 9 and Mathew 4: 8.

Mathew 6: 9 says: “This is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven may your holy name be honoured. May your kingdom come.”

To members of Jehovah’s Witness, this scripture implies that the kingdom of God has not come and they are still waiting for it to come.

Also, Mathew 4: 8 is a scripture that dwells on how the devil took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and promised to give them to Him if He bowed down and worshipped him. Members of Jehovah’s Witness claim that this world belongs to satan and insist that God’s kingdom has not yet come.

When our reporter sought the views of non members, especially pastors, their response was contrary to the teaching of the Witnesses.

Pastor Jude Chukwurah noted that their belief was strange because the same Bible mandated Christians to respect constituted authority.

“God recognises leadership and authority of leaders in the society,” he said.

Chukwurah said even in ages past, there was clamour for leaders as reported in the Bible and the people elected their leaders.

Another pastor, Michael James, said the Witnesses are misinterpreting the Bible and should be ignored.

He warned that their belief was not consistent with biblical teaching, adding that if such teaching is followed it could lead their members to imbibe false doctrine that could lead them to hell.
