This is post #3 in our series and will be covering how to set up the tablet for use in Photoshop.

This video shows you how to change all settings on your tablet for use with the computer, and explains what each setting does.

This video shows you specifically how to set up the tablet within Photoshop.

A frequently asked question is how to make your pen strokes look smooth when drawing in Photoshop, and the answer is that you will need to make fast strokes with the pen, and also that it takes some practice to get it right. Other programs are better suited to draw with a tablet then Photoshop and will give you cleaner lines when drawing. Some people choose to use other programs to draw with their tablet, and then take the sketch into Photoshop to work on.

This is a review of the tablet from YouTube that shows some of the features as well as the tablet working on screen with Photoshop:

This is the tablet that I have and I absolutely love it. I use it for drawing, photo touch ups, using the pen tool or lasso tool, and so much more. Like the reviewer in the above video, I don't really use the tablet for it's touch functions, just for the pen, but it is really nice to be able to set the buttons on the tablet to shortcuts, and we'll show you how to do that in post #3.

How to Lomo A Photo with Actions - PSE or CS

Lomography has a pretty large cult following these days. I myself love Lomo photos, and of course I want to make my own. Today I have a tutorial for you on how to make your pictures look lomo with a simple and free Photoshop and PSE action, which can be downloaded HERE.

I will cover how to install Photoshop Actions in a future tutorial. For now, you can install your downloaded action into this folder to get it to work: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\7.0\Photo Creations\photo effects . MAKE SURE that PSE or CS is closed before you install the new action. Personally I just make a shortcut of this folder and keep it on the desktop so that I can load new actions into it quickly. If the new action shows up without a thumbnail, don't worry. You can still hover over it to get it's name.

If you're clicking on an action and it isn't working, be sure that the photo you want to add the lomo effect to is the Background layer. If it isn't, then name it Background. Make sure the background layer is selected before applying the action.

Photoshop/PSE may look like it's wigging out as the action is taking place. Don't worry. It's just because Photoshop is working fast doing everything it's supposed to. If something comes up asking you to 'continue' or click 'ok' then do so until the action has completed.
