The Thrill Of Victory..! Week 17...and the 2011 Chosen Few Fantasy Football League Season comes to an end. Congratulations to Touch Down My Pants from all owners for claiming the 2011 League Championship Title of this inaugural season. A more exciting finish could not have been scripted..! With the closing minutes of Sunday's games Team Thats What He Said was within five (5) points of securing a win over Touch Down My Pants, only to be denied in the final two (2) minutes of the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants contest. With that finish, Touch Down My Pants wins his 14th game of the season with a score of 212-200 and finishes with a 14-3 Win/Loss record and the Championship Trophy.

The Agony Of Defeat..! El Duce...entered this week of play with the same Win/Loss record, but was trailing Touch Down My Pants by 11 points for the season going into the final week. He was able to make up that 11 point deficit and surpass Touch Down My Pants by a narrow 2 point margin for total points for the season. El Duce, was in a "must win" situation to capture the title, however, in what will be considered as possibly the biggest upset of the season, Dream Team (a.k.a. The Spoiler) would not be denied victory in his final game of the season and serves up loss number 4 to El Duce with a 232-223 winning score. With that loss El Duce's finishes the season with a 13-4 Win/Loss record...one (1) game back from the leader, and has to settle for 2nd place. In addition, Dream Team with this final week win finishes the season with a 9-8 Win/Loss record and captures his first (and only) Never Say Never Trophy for his 9 point win margin. (On a side note...El Duce has been unavailable for comment and my phone calls and text requests have gone unanswered..!)

Overall...every owner would agree it was a fun, exciting, and entertaining 17 weeks of professional football and for those who may have an interest...the Final League Standings can be previewed at ESPN by clicking "The Chosen Few Fantasy Football League" image to the right of this publication.

With this final article and publication for the 2011 Chosen Few Fantasy Football League season, I'd like to say I've really enjoyed the "Smack" exchange between my nephews, brother, and myself during the season. After 16 weeks of regular season play, and with only one week of battle remaining, there are now only two (2) owners in position to compete for the championship title of this 2011 inaugural season of The Chosen Few Fantasy Football League..! Both El Duce and Touch Down My Pants win their Week 16 meetings against their respective opponents and currently hold a 13-3 Win/Loss record for the season to date. The Countdown to the finish and overall winner will be determined at the conclusion of Week 17 which is the final week of league play. Touch Down My Pants is the current overall leader in the league as he has a slight 11 point advantage over El Duce in total points for the season which places the pressure squarely on El Duce, who must have a better than average performance in his final appearance to overtake Touch Down My Pants.

Other notable performances in Week 16 were Renovatió over Thats What He Said with a winning score of 213-112 which gives Renovatió an 11-5 Win/Loss record, but two games back of the leaders. Dream Team posted a decisive win over PapaDoc with a 221-123 winning score. This Week 16 win for Dream Team gives him an 8-8 Win/Loss record for the season to date and delivers PapaDoc his 7th loss for the season. Gladiator in his come from behind fashion secures the win in his contest over CrunchTime with a score of 177-164. This 13 point win margin also awards Gladiator yet another Never Say Never Trophy for his Week 16 victory. And...Team Hildreth with his 249-180 winning score over CherryBombs also gets him his second award of the Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy.

Leaders in total points for the season to date has Touch Down My Pants in first (1st) place with 3176 points. Renovatió remains in second (2nd) place with 3170, but has absolutely no chance in competing with the leaders for the championship as he is 2 games back and is included in this paragraph only as an "honorable mention"..! El Duce is currently in third (3rd) place with 3165 points and 11 points behind the first place leader, and is the only owner with a legitimate chance of an upset and win.

El Duce...or...Touch Down My Pants..! Both owners with a 12-3 Win/Loss record for the season and two (2) regular season games to play..! El Duce secures his Week 15 win over Hildreth with a 176-152 winning score. Not to be out done, Touch Down My Pants gets his check mark in the win column with a 245-132 point victory over PapaDoc. This victory also moves Touch Down My Pants to the number one (1) overall position in the league with his 12-3 Win/Loss record and 2988 total points for the season. El Duce, still in the mix also with a 12-3 Win/Loss record and 2950 points for the season has him trailing Touch Down My Pants by only 38 points.

The above may look like a two horse race, but the Renovatió, 188-170 victory over CherryBombs secures him a sole third place in the league with a 10-5 Win/Loss record and 2959 total points for the season. With a little luck, there is still a slim, (very slim) chance of Renovatió remaining a threat with his bid for the championship should both leaders suffer losses in the remaining two (2) weeks of play and if Renovatió can add to his 3 game win streak. This 18 point win margin over CherryBombs also awards Renovatió his third (3rd) Never Say Never Trophy for the season.

Week 15 losses delivered to CherryBombs and PapaDoc move them both into fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) place in the league respectively and both are now 3 games back of the leaders each with a 9-5 Win/Loss record and no chance of winning the championship title.

Vengeance, Retaliation, Retribution, and Redemption..! These were the motivational factors utilized by Renovatió to secure a win in this, the second meeting with El Duce for the 2011 season. Suffering an early season Week 3 loss to El Duce, and facing a "must win" situation to possibly remain a threat, Renovatio secures a Week 14 victory in this fight by a winning score of 253-228..!

This Week 14 loss for El Duce now moves him into a tie for first place in the league with Touch Down My Pants who wins his contest against Gladiator with a 266-210 score. Both leaders, El Duce and Touch Down My Pants are each holding onto a 11-3 Win/Loss record.

In what would be considered this weeks most notable upset was the Thats What He Said victory over CherryBombs with a winning score of 248-240. This defeat places CherryBombs in a three way tie for second place with PapaDoc and Renovatió...all with a 9-5 Win/Loss record and currently two (2) games back of the leaders. This 8 point win margin for Thats What He Said is also enough to award her the Never Say Never Trophy for the week.

The weekly battles fought for the 2011 Fantasy Football Championship title becomes more interesting and strategic with only three (3) weeks of regular season football remaining..! Touch Down My Pants and El Duce will have to experience additional losses in the upcoming weeks and CherryBombs, PapaDoc, and Renovatió cannot afford anymore defeats to have a legitimate shot at winning the overall contest. Should one or more owners end up in a Win/Loss tie, the eventual winner will be determined by total points for the season as the tiebreaker..! It's not over...'till it's over..!

The top three (3) spots for league lead in total points for the season and games are as follows; El Duce is in the lead and holds onto first place with 2774 points. He is closely followed by Renovatió in second with 2771 points. Only a four (4) point margin for Renovatió to overcome, but two (2) games back of the leaders. Touch Down My Pants with his 2745 total points bumps PapaDoc from the third place position, and while tied with El Duce for first in the Win/Loss category at 11-3, is still trailing in points by 29.

CherryBombs with 2095 points and PapaDoc with 2090 points are each trailing the overall leader, El Duce, by 80+ points. While both will need some high scoring games in the remaining weeks, they are also two (2) games back of the leaders, so a loss in the remaining weeks of play is not an option.

With the 2011 NFL Season quickly coming to an end,..as evidenced with only four (4) weeks of regular season games remaining, opportunities for some owners to achieve the ultimate Champion Of The World status are now very slim or completely out of reach. El Duce continues his quest for that status and title as he secures yet another victory with a 181-165 score over Thats What He Said and also continues to remain the sole leader in the league with an 11-2 Win/Loss Record.

Not to be counted out...yet...Touch Down My Pants in a come from behind effort defeats Dream Team with a 196-173 winning score. This win puts Touch Down My Pants at 10-3 Win/Loss for the season and only one (1) game back of El Duce for the league lead. However, Touch Down My Pants will have to depend on another owner to hopefully defeat El Duce in these remaining weeks of the season to give him a shot at the title..!

Team CherryBombs continues to hold onto third place with her win over ShoNuff by posting a 199-185 winning score. This now give CherryBombs a 9-4 Win/Loss record for the season to date. This was a heated contest as there were several lead changes between both owners. With this win, CherryBombs claims victory and finishes with a 2-0 record against ShoNuff in their meetings for the 2011 season.

Gladiator,..with another stellar performance, upsets PapaDoc in this Week 13 meeting with a 206-183 winning score and also secures his first award of the Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy..! With this defeat PapaDoc is now in a tie with Renovatió in fourth place, both with an 8-5 Win/Loss record.

Say it ain't so...Men Of Steel...is now at 3-10 Win/Loss for the season with his victory over CrunchTime by posting a 180-134 winning score..! It was a dominating performance...and it only took him 13 weeks to figure out what the end game is all about..! W...T...F..!

Retribution..! Week 12

Retribution...and Gladiator would not be denied..! The second match up this season between Gladiator and Dream Team was one to remember. Before the Kick-Off of the Monday Night Game between the New York Giants and New Orleans Saints, Gladiator stepped on the gridiron trailing Dream Team by a huge 98 point deficit. To some...it seemed Dream Team would have an easy repeat of their first meeting and get the check mark in the win column..! However, it was not to be...as performances on Monday Night produced a much different end result..! At the close of the Monday Night Game, and with one of the most impressive displays in Professional Football...Gladiator Quarterback, Drew Brees posted an amazing 62 points for his personal efforts to help catapult Gladiator to a Week 12 win with a score of 241-229 over Dream Team. At the same time...his slim 12 point win margin also secured Gladiator a second award of the Never Say Never Trophy.

ShoNuff showed up for sweet revenge as well in a second meeting this season with Renovatió. A comfortable, early lead was established by ShoNuff during the Thanksgiving Thursday Games. A lead that eventually proved to be too difficult to overcome for Renovatió. At the close of the Monday Night Game, ShoNuff gets another win, while delivering a fifth (5th) loss of the season to Renovatió with a 180-146 score.

PapaDoc...in complete domination, destroys Men Of Steel with a 255-115 score. (I'll do the math for you...this is a 140 point win margin..!) This win awards PapaDoc his first ever Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy while at the same time serves up Men Of Steel with his sixth (6th) award of the Lowest Weekly Point Total Trophy. This was the largest point spread for a win this season..!

El Duce, with his 199-165 winning score over CherryBombs is now holding onto a 10-2 Win/Loss record. Alone...and in first place and with only five (5) weeks of regular season play remaining, the question is still being asked...is there anyone capable of delivering a loss (or two) to El Duce..?

In addition to his 10-2 Win/Loss record, El Duce now takes over the number one (1) position in total points for the season as well with 2369 points. Say it ain't so..! Men Of Steel...in this weeks most notable meeting and upset, claims victory over CherryBombs with a 197-189 final score. This victory also awards Men Of Steel two (2) trophies this week...his first ever Highest Weekly Points Total Trophy and his first ever Never Say Never Trophy for the season. Another fantasy week in the books...and as final results are posted...several changes in points, standings, and leaders..! El Duce, Touch Down My Pants, and CherryBombs are the only three owners who are now tied for first place in the league...all with 8-2 Win/Loss records. In addition, all three had notable victories in Week 10 as El Duce wins his match against CrunchTime by a score of 208-145 which also awards El Duce his first Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy. Touch Down My Pants is victorious in his match up over ShoNuff with a score of 161-152. A slim 9 point win margin, but enough for Touch Down My Pants to be awarded the weekly Never Say Never Trophy.

And...CherryBombs is deserving of a special mention for her win this week over PapaDoc with a 195-181 winning score which displaced PapaDoc from a tie for first place and moved him into fourth. In addition, all should take notice that this win also gives CherryBombs a streak of five (count them...FIVE) wins in as many weeks. She is dominating in every contest and her Week 10 victory over PapaDoc not only keeps her in a tie for first place in the league, but also moves her into third place over all in points with 1908. A strong move being displayed by CherryBombs..!

The Fantasy Football routine became a little more difficult this past week, in my opinion. With the arrival of games on Thursdays, a more strategic game plan has to be developed and implemented as there is less time to determine your roster options. Players who have a nagging injury have less time to rest and playing them might be a big risk. Regardless of time spent in preparation for combat and review of all available player information...it all comes down to a coin flip for some with no time to second guess your selections. Who do you play..?

With the completion of Week 10, Renovatió again manages to retain the league lead (at least for another week) in total points for the season with 2011. El Duce is a close second with 1981 and a new arrival to this list is CherryBombs, as she now takes over the third place position with 1908 points.

The week in review...and one to remember..! Team Gladiator defeats El Duce in what has to be considered the biggest upset of the week with a 199-185 win margin in favor of Gladiator. With this win, Gladiator also delivers the second loss of the season to El Duce. In addition, with that loss for El Duce and other key wins this week by CherryBombs, Touch Down My Pants, and PapaDoc, there is now a four way tie for the league lead by these owners...all with a 7-2 Win/Loss record. With performance pressure on the increase and being this crowded at the top...upcoming weeks and match ups will be of growing interest! Stay tuned for new developments..!

CherryBombs manages to shave off 12 more points with her win this week and is now only 28 points from a top 3 position with 1713.

The season progresses and with almost half of it complete, El Duce now stands alone in the Leagues Number 1 position and takes the overall lead for the season with a 7-1 Win/Loss record. However, still keeping him in their crosshairs are owners; CherryBombs, PapaDoc, Touch Down My Pants, and Renovatió, all with a 6-2 Win/Loss record for the season. Giving El Duce the league lead was his win over Men Of Steel by a score of 201-183. It was a heated contest and when all statistics were finalized, his win by an 18 point margin was just enough to also be awarded the Never Say Never Trophy for Week 8.

After a blistering 6-0 start, Touch Down My Pants has now suffered two (2) back to back losses and he seems to be fading fast. The question in my Week 5 publication, and League Manager, PapaDocs poll asking if he would complete the season in an undefeated status may have put excessive pressure on him..! The question now..! Can he mount a comeback, remain a threat, and stay in contention..?

Random Rants

A close review of the League Standings still indicates there are several owners capable of winning this competition. Granted...some owners cannot afford another loss and must finish strong with all wins for the remaining weeks of the season. In addition, owners in the lead or close to the lead will have to suffer some key losses, but...there is still room for major upsets and possible lead changes. What will be required by owners in striking distance is some necessary roughness which will make it even more interesting when all bye weeks have been satisfied.

With the completion of Week 8; Renovatió still has the league lead in points with 1696 and has extended that lead by 106 points over El Duce, who remains in second place with 1590. Touch Down My Pants managed to hold on to his third place position with 1540 points in spite of his loss, but is only 40 points ahead of CherryBombs who is now looking to play with the big boys and make her presence known.

Owners that were competing with the opportunity to win their individual meetings or secure the Weekly Highest Point Total Trophy were all heavily dependent on performances by their players in the Monday Night Game between the Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars. While is was, in my opinion, a less than exciting game, it did provide some interesting moments and lead changes. (Interesting...as in...fumbles, recoveries, and incomplete passes!) At game finish, Renovatió emerges victorious and is awarded yet another Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy by a slim four (4) point margin over El Duce, (206-202). And...as I had to mention to El Duce...1 point or 1000 points...it doesn't matter..! It still a "Win" and no one will ever ask..."Who came in second..?"..! BooYah..!

Here Ye...Here Ye...Read All About It..! Touch Down My Pants is served his first loss of the season by Hildreth...177-142. Still.....have to give props to Touch Down My Pants for his 6-0 start this season. I, for one, was impressed, and and at the same time, somewhat concerned that he might have an undefeated season..! Now...it seems things are starting to get a little crowded at the top..!

With that loss, Touch Down My Pants and El Duce are now tied for first place in the league. Both with a 6-1 Win/Loss record in their divisions. Touch down My Pants in the East and El Duce in the West. Papa Doc, CherryBombs, and Renovatió are all at 5-2 in their respective divisions and keeping the two leaders in their sights.

The league lead for total points again has a change this week..! Renovatió retains his first place position with 1463 points. El Duce makes a move, takes second place with 1389 points, and forces Touch Down My Pants into third place with 1382.

I'm faced with a dilema and a new understanding of the strategy with regard to short rosters. While fully knowing I'm going to have players on a bye status for this upcoming week, the review of available horses to put in the race and compete are less than impressive on the waiver wire. So...the question and decision...do you pick someone up off the wire just to fill the bye position in question for the week? Or...do you gamble and leave your roster intact, play short, and hope for the best? Hmmm

Of the six contests this week, I have to admit, I personally found CherryBombs at Gladiator to be the most entertaining. With the start of Sundays games, Gladiator opened up a sizable lead during the early match ups, however, CherryBombs made a dramatic comeback with the afternoon games and took the lead at days end by a slim 2 points...189-187..! Both combatants had one player each in the Monday Night Game. CherryBombs with Miami WR Brandon Marshall and Gladiator with Miami RB Reggie Bush. It was just a matter of which individual player was going to make the biggest contribution for the Miami Dolphins Offense. At the close of the Monday Night Game, CherryBombs claims victory in this battle by 7 points (200-193) and is also awarded her 2nd Never Say Never Trophy as well..!

Touch Down My Pants...Unstoppable..? Six wins in as many weeks..! No doubt this is an impressive early season win record..! Is there anyone in the league with the skill set and talent available that can mount a threat..? Stay tuned for further updates..!

In my Week 4 post I had made mention that CrunchTime seemed to have hit his stride as he was making a concerted bid for the Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy that week. It is now evident he wants to have his presence known and recognized by all, as he captures that trophy with a 221 to 195 decisive win over Hildreth.

The last time my 49ers had seen a 5-1 win/loss record at this point in the NFL season was in 1998. Needless to say...I'm feeling quite a bit of pride for my boys and their efforts so far this year.

For those that prepare, with the weapons available, no other quote is more applicable, or true, for this weeks contests. With the exception of Gladiator, El Duce, and Renovatió, all other owners arrived for their respective meetings this week short of the 18 maximum players allowed on their active rosters. Was this just an oversight? Or...a defined measure of strategy for future meetings as the season progresses?

My Week 5 opponent, "Thats What He Said", arrived for battle 6 soldiers short of the full compliment of 18 allowed on her active roster. She was facing, and accepted, defeat before the contest began! The question wasn't if she was going to lose this week...the question was...by how much? Completely unprepared, her Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, Saint Louis Rams LB James Laurinaitis and Kicker Josh Brown, plus 3 other defensive linemen, while on her active roster, were actually on a Week 5 Bye. The score at the close of the Monday Night Game...250-115, in favor of Renovatió...a 135 point win margin..! An enemy already defeated prior to the start of the fight, and a welcomed gift for what may prove to be the easiest win I'll have this season. I just have one question...where do I send the "Thank You" card..?

Touch Down My Pants continues to dominate the league posting win number five in as many weeks and remains undefeated for the season to date. Not sure if I'm the only one thinking this, but is there any owner in upcoming meetings with the talent available that can serve him his first loss? Who will it be? Or...is there a possibility he can complete the season with an undefeated record? Hmmm..!

Any Given Sunday...and this one proved to be no less interesting than the others, to say the least..! At the close of the Monday Night Game, many changes have taken place. Touch Down My Pants remains the only owner with an undefeated 4-0 record in the league. This comes after serving up a first loss to PapaDoc in dominating fashion and puts PapaDoc at 3-1 for the season to date. Gladiator has his first taste of victory at the expense of the struggling Men Of Steel franchise, who is now the only team with a 0-4 record and again reclaims ownership of the Lowest Weekly Point Total trophy! (Would the trophy be considered an upside?) El Duce also experiences his first loss of the season against Hildreth, who put on a stellar performance for his first win of the season by posting a 241 to 191 score for this match up, and captures the Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy as well.

Confidence was high for El Duce prior to his meeting with Hildreth...as evidenced on the league "smack" board prior to their contest! Now it seems El Duce will be forced to choke down some "Humble Pie" this week for his defeat and smack. This loss now gives El Duce a 3-1 record as well, in the West Division. He also presented me with a slice of that same pie, which I had no choice, but to accept, as CherryBombs gets the check mark in the win column for her performance and award of the Never Say Never Trophy for the 6 point win margin in our battle..!

Of note as well...it seems CrunchTime has hit his stride and was making a strong move this week for the Highest Weekly Point Total Trophy. At one point it seemed he had a reasonable chance of catching Hildreth for that weekly prize, but...he came up short by 3 points.

BREAKING NEWS; REUTERS; 4 October 2011; :: In preparation for their Week 4 meeting, and eventual loss to the Detroit Lions;...Dallas Cowboys football practice was delayed nearly 4 hours this past Saturday, 1 October 2011, after a player on the team reported finding a substantial amount, of what was referred to as, "An Unknown White Powdery Substance" on the practice field. Head Coach Jason Garrett and Owner Jerry Jones immediately suspended practice and called local law enforcement officials and federal investigators to the scene. After a complete and thorough analysis, experts from the FBI determined that the white substance, which was unknown to any of the players, was the Goal Line. Practice resumed after clearance from the FBI and it was determined the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again this season..!

So...in closing...

While I have made my best attempt to be gracious in defeat this week, I have to admit it has actually proved to be somewhat easier and better than expected..! Why...you ask..? 49ers Win...Cowgirls Lose..! Yeah Buddy..!

Week #3 comes to a close and the 2011 Fantasy Football Season progresses. Another week, providing exciting moments, interesting results, and new standings within the league. Injured players, adding to the growing list of inactives, have most owners in a scramble to acquire and insure healthy players complete their starting line ups for upcoming weeks. Some owners even attempting to explore the "Trade" option available, between themselves, to improve individual team power rankings and gain a more competitive edge over their opponents. In addition, with some Free Agent budgets being depleted this early in the season, I,...for one, am anxious to see how these owners, with minimal or non-existent funds, will continue to acquire "The Replacements" necessary to perform in place of their injured or inactive players during the 14 remaining weeks of play.

In my article last week I had asked the question of how long my 253 points posted for total weekly points would hold up in this competition! It didn't take Touch Down My Pants very long to provide the reply. He answered that question decisively this week with his blistering 278 for highest weekly point total. (He obviously didn't appreciate his move to 3rd place last week!) Now the question comes to mind...how long will his 278 remain as the weekly record..? I also wonder if 300 points for a week is within reach and who will be the one to hit that mark..!

For his effort and 278 points this week, Touch Down My Pants again takes the league lead in Total Points for the season to date with 687. El Duce follows with 630 points in second place, and Renovatio (Me) holding onto third with 612.

While at the same time I also have to point out that Owners, Galdiator, Men Of Steel, and Hildreth are 0-3 in their divisions as Week #3 comes to an end. So...with regard to the 0-3 Owners...the comment "It's A Long Season", is going to be more difficult to repeat as the we go forward and performances don't improve! Perhaps a re-organization (firing) of coaching staff may want to be considered..!

It had to be a heartbreaking moment and I'm sure there was a lone tear running down his cheek, but Men Of Steel had to pass on the "Lowest Weekly Point Total" trophy and title this week. Question is...who will be the proud recipient...Thats What He Said or Hildreth as they each tied for Lowest Weekly Point total at 115. (...or will they both receive one?)

Winner of last weeks "El Duce Challenge" goes to El Duce with a 194-183 final score. When called to extend congratulations on his win and performance for the week...his reply was not a gracious "Thank You" or "Good Game"..! His first words to me were "Pay Up Sucker...Game On"..!

So...in closing...

My Week #3 loss to El Duce didn't sit very well with me..! Seems I have to re-evaluate my strategy and line up and completely destroy CherryBombs in this week's upcoming contest..!

The week leading up to Sunday's kick off began with most owners in a wild and hectic frenzy to make "All The Right Moves" by claiming and dropping players in a concerted effort to improve their individual rosters. There was much activity to move available players from waivers to bench to active and it seems most owners have settled down, and are now focused and fully aware of the changes and fine tuning needed to be accomplished, on a weekly basis, to insure they have their best warriors on the field of battle on game day. This was evident and further confirmed as a review of all rosters reflected 10 of 12 owners had complete rosters in play in order to compete in this dog eat dog, cut throat business. Teams Hildreth and Thats What He Said were the only owners with incomplete rosters with a combined total of four (4) players on a Week #2 "Bye" status. (Has that "Dunce Cap" been ordered..?)

Congratulations to: Touch Down My Pants, PapaDoc, El Duce, CrunchTime, CherryBombs...and "Me" for getting the "...W..." this week for their performances on the gridiron. With the completion of Week #2 there are now 2 teams in each conference (East-West) with a 2-0 win record, in addition to 2 teams in each conference with a 0-2 loss record. When asking losing owners to express their thoughts of having to recover from this 0-2 deficit...the standard and canned reply I received was..."Its early"..."Its A Long Season"...or..."There's A Lot Of Football Left To Play"..! Alrrighttttyyy Then..!

Have to give "Props" to Men Of Steel for his comeback this week and posting 145 points in his contest against CrunchTime. While it was a notable effort, he was unable to get the win as CrunchTime squeaked by him to post a 149-145 in favor of CrunchTime..! On the upside...Men Of Steel continues to hold on to the "Lowest Weekly Point Total" trophy...at least for another week..!

In addition,...with the completion of Week #2, El Duce takes the league lead in total points with 436, followed by Renovatió (Me) a close 2nd with 431, and Touch Down My Pants slips into 3rd position with 409..!

The Smack

I've got to say it..! My performance on the field of battle can only be described as "dominating" this week against Hildreth with 253 points to give me the win..! This could be considered a "Bad Beat" for Hildreth since there were several lead changes during this heated contest...only for him to lose by 30 points at the finish..! Wondering how long that 253, if it will, or when, it will be beaten in total points for "Highest Point Total" in a week..! Other than my Chicago "D", the majority of my roster was firing on all cylinders this week..! BooYah..! And...YES...it does feel good to add the "Highest Weekly Point Winner" trophy to my case..!

Upcoming Week #3..! El Duce @ Renovatio..! I've thoroughly enjoyed the "Smack" exchange between myself and my nephew El Duce for this upcoming meeting since the league schedule was published. (and believe me, he can dish it out, as well at take it!) But, now its time to Put Up, or Shut Up..!

The Greatest Show On Turf..! Week 1

The Thursday night start of the 2011 Fantasy Football Season was a less than stellar beginning for some. (OK...for me!) Well knowing it was only the first game of the season to be played, I for one was expecting to actually score some points! Don't get me wrong, I was happy with the 2 point home field advantage awarded prior to the start of the game, but other than that, the only notable event for this game, from one of my players anyway, was Packers CB Charles Woodson's right uppercut on Saints TE David Thomas. (Can I get a BooYah..!) When the game ended, I was still holding on to the same lonely 2 points and wondering how I was going to make up the additional 2 point deficit I incurred from ShoNuff. (Score at end of Game #1...ShoNuff 4 / Renovatio 2). Then a slow creeping thought crossed my mind and I broke out in a cold sweat...I'm already on a reverse sizz and picking up speed..! The pressure is unbearable..!

Sunday's games proved to be more entertaining and provided more excitement with constant point lead changes happening quickly. Congrats are extended to owners PapaDoc, Dream Team, Touch Down My Pants, El Duce, and That's What He Said, for getting that check mark in the "Win" column. It was entertaining to see live updates on all games and all players as the games progressed on the ESPN FantasyCast Interface. The drop down menus also gave quick previews of other Owner match ups in the League. All done in Real Time..! So...kudos go out to ESPN and their FantasyCast Interface during the live games. I highly recommend it and it adds another weapon to the arsenal...not to mention entertainment value..!

Now to more important news..! Well...it didn't take too long to identify "That Guy" that I was referring to in my last blog post under the "Random Rants" section. While Gladiator, El Duce, Hildreth, and Thats What He Said, all had players on their active rosters that were on a Week #1 Bye,...Team Men Of Steel, not to be out done, arrived for his first week of battle with a total of seven (7), that's right seven (7), count them, players on a Week #1 Bye. By the end of Sunday's contests he had posted a blistering, unbelievable, and massive "...61..." (are you kidding me) points to begin the season, and he did this with no players scheduled to compete in the Monday Night Football match up between Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos. Now thats what I call...Management..! Perhaps League Manager, PapaDoc may want to consider one more trophy for just this occasion. Might I suggest a Dunce Cap..!

With the Tuesday morning arrival of the ESPN Weekly Recap Email Report and final scoring updates, "Smack" privileges have to be awarded to Touch Down My Pants for posting 218 points at the close of Week #1. He now leads the League in total points by a slim "1" point over Dream Team. Just want to say...enjoy it while you can, because we're all coming after you..! (well...all with the possible exception of Men of Steel..!)

I also want to let Hildreth know I opened up a can a WhoopAss on ShoNuff for Week #1 on my last post as well,...and I didn't use it all..! I'll be serving up the rest on your Home Turf in Week #2..!

The Draft..!

And...we're off..! The Chosen Few 2011 Fantasy Football had a very successful owner turnout the evening of 5 September 2011. Most owners arrived in plenty of time before the 7:30/8:30 draft start time. Team owners, Hildreth, CrunchTime, and That's What He Said were unable make an appearance and League Manager, PapaDoc had to place them on "Auto-Draft". We'll listen to their excuses as the season progresses...and you'll be able to read about it here...of course..!

There was electricity in the air..! Excitement and anticipation..! Light hearted "smack" being exchanged on the board. Gladiator offering advise on "Mouse Manipulation" to El Duce (and while I can't be 100% sure, I think he was referring to the PC mouse!) and Touch Down My Pants entered enjoying his "Happy Ending". Yes...a casual, festive, and very entertaining environment to say the least...until...The 8:30 P.M. Start..! Now...down to the business at hand..! Quiet, no smack exchange or banter, so quiet in fact that PapaDoc was wondering if everyone had left the room..!

A total of 25 draft selections later, all exit to review their picks and overall teams. While at the present time I have no idea on other owners reactions after the draft results...I can only say the instant I reviewed my player roster...it hit me...I have no idea what I'm doing..! I know absolutely nothing about the game of football other than how points are scored and that all Professional NFL Football Teams have great looking cheerleaders. The only exposure I ever had to this game, other than watching, and attending a few, was evaluating over/under betting lines when I lived in Las Vegas. So now I ask...does anyone want to buy a Fantasy Football Franchise...on the cheap..?

Aaahhh...Yes...the smell of hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. A cool, refreshing beverage, or two, three, maybe four...maximum five, with good friends and family! Finally...Regular Season Week 1...the Kick Off! The crowd roars and life as we know it is back to normal...The 2011 NFL Season is finally off and running..!

Welcome Owners...to the inaugural season of The Chosen Few 2011 Fantasy Football League. The excitement of the upcoming NFL Season and for all those who have always dreamed of the chance to guide and direct a team of overpaid, under worked, bad attitude, slap my bitch around, steroid infested bodies, makin' it rain at a strip club, shoot myself in the foot, I love ME, athletes to further fame, fortune, and glory. The opportunity has finally arrived. Now...if only we could just figure out how to navigate the ESPN Fantasy Football User Interface!

All are here...sizing the others up...convinced we each have the winning formula to finish the season in that ever elusive "Champion Of The World" category. Knowing, in the deepest recesses of our being, we each know just a little more about this wonderful American game than the other to give us that competitive edge. One approach, different from another, in hopes of a successful season.

My interactions with this years current owners have been minimal, however, I'd like to share, what I consider, a few pearls of wisdom, information, and discoveries to date, and past as well;

1) Recent conversation with the owner of Team ShoNuff, Joshua Pena, who shared with me he had been studying player "Depth Charts" early one morning in anticipation of the Live Draft, and I couldn't help but think and ask myself...what is a "Depth Chart"...and is it anything like a "Depth Charge"..?

2) Attempting to show owner of Team Gladiator, Rudy Gallegos, how to participate in an online Mock Draft, and his use of the mouse for website navigation was like watching grass grow. Not to mention, in one mock draft during the very 1st round, he was in the #1 draft order position, but failed to take advantage of the #1 RB Seed (Adrian Peterson), and opted instead for #36 TE Seed (Antonio Gates), to which he immediately received merciless "flame" and "smack" comments from others in the draft, including...of course...yours truly..! His reply..."Geez...I messed up..!" Ya Think Bro...!!!

3) Lastly, and definitely worth noting, 6 January 2007, Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks in the NFC wild card playoff round. Cowboys down 21-20 and 1:19 left on the clock. Cowboys attempt a 19 yard field goal, but Romo botched the hold for the kicker by dropping the snap. Romo then tries to run into the end zone for an impromptu touchdown, only to be tackled at the 1 yard line. Seattle wins..! This blast from the past bears mentioning because owner of Team El Duce, Roderick Rodriguez, actually cried "real tears" at this loss! Weeks later in an attempt to make him feel better, I had to share a story with Roderick. I told him I had read an article about that game, and Romo was so distraught with his dropping the snap and losing the game, that he tired to commit suicide...but, I assured him, not to worry, he's alright, because he dropped the gun! To which, Roderick began crying "real tears"...again..!

Now, please keep in mind everything written or posted here is for entertainment (or lack thereof) purposes only. I mean no offense to anyone in any manner. This is just an attempt to possibly put a smile on your face, if only for a short while.

Some may have already noticed my Fantasy Football profile logo..."I Hate The Dallas Cowboys"..! As I have already mentioned above, I mean no offense and this logo is being used with no malicious intent. It's just that...well...I really do...Hate The Cowboys..!
