Like the main character in my Sadie Witt mystery series, I was born with a healthy imagination and a hankering to solve a puzzle. I learned my reverence for reading from my mother, who was never without a book in her hand. My lifelong interest in figuring out how things worked was a natural transition into weaving a tale. By day, I work in Human Resources at a hospital. By night I morph into a writer who frequents lake resorts and mortuaries and hosts a ghost or two in my humorous paranormal mysteries. In my writing life I've been a sheriff’s deputy, a funeral director, a child, a death coach, an embezzler, a ghost and a chef who’s been banned from cooking at the Witt’s End resort. With those characters traipsing through my mind, there are still numerous stories yet untold.

I review anything from young adult to creative nonfiction to classics, and I read because I enjoy it for myself not to impress someone else. I also talk about my life as an English major and college student.

That's A Novel Idea is a book blog that doesn't focus on one particular genre. Most reads are fiction though a memoir really floats my boat as well. Reviews can be sporadic at times due to a busy working and personal life, but my love of books and reading never wavers! My goal is to share about books, meet other book bloggers, and hopefully encourage someone to read a book they would never have considered on their own.
