The whole time you spent your entire life here, that’s the only time you encountered that word. So if you are applying for a business credit card, you must know what APR means and what is it all about.
APR or Annual Percentage Rate is the simplified counterpart to the effective interest rate that the borrower will pay on a loan. Credit card companies can advertise monthly interest rates, but they are required to clearly state the annual percentage rate before an agreement is signed. APR is a term used with regard to deposit accounts as well.
You must consider how you plan to pay off your balances. If you plan to pay off your monthly balances in full or do you plan to carry your balance from month to month? You should look for a business credit card with the lowest APR. it is considered a reasonable starting point for an ad-hoc comparison of lenders. If a card offers an incredibly low APR, make sure that it will be a long term commitment. This will make your life easy when you pay your monthly bill. However, some business cards offer the low rate as part of the introductory offer, but as soon as the promo period ends, you may find yourself stuck with high rates and charges. APR must include certain non-interest charges and fees, however, it requires more detailed calculation. Moreover, keep credit inquiries to a minimum to avoid performance pricing reviews and APR increases.

What's In My Work Area?

I've been taking pctures these past few days and so I better post some of them here. Oh well, I started this picture taking saga a few days ago with my 2 cutest pets. Now, let me share with you some of the things that can be usually found inside my workstation.

Item#1: Computer

This is one of my prized possesions because it's what I use for working my butt off everyday. This is the first thing that I see from the moment I wake up and the last one that I see before I close my eyes and go to sleep. Like I said, I tend to be workaholic so you can see me in front of this cutesy little techy gadget almost 24 hours haha.

When I'm inside my bedroom, I use my desktop computer. However, this is more utilized for online games and school projects by my younger siblings.

Item#2: Printer

I only use the printer for producing hard copies of my downloaded Music sheets online hehe.

Item#3: MP3

This is where I store all my favorite PW songs. At present I have 500 or so songs in it which I listen to everytime. Listening to music while working invigorates my entire being, so it kindda makes me more energetic during work hours ;)

Item#4 Desk lamp

This desk lamp saves a considerable amount of energy since it only consumes 5 watts of eletricity. I use it instead of the floruescent lamp to provide a more focused light on my workstation.

Item#5 Toolbox

The toolbox keeps things organized around my workstation. This is where I store my rechargeable batteries, mouse, digicam, mp3 player, and all other small stuff.

Item#6 Collection of Notebooks

Ha-ha-ha! Just recently, I found out that I own quite a number of notebooks(some of them are not in the picture though)! I don't now, but whenever I see one at the bookstore, I tend to buy it. I use them all actually hehe. One notebook is used as a journal, another is used as a planner, another one for financial matters, for my book studies, for keyboard lessons, and so forth.

Item#7 Collection of books

I like to read, especially if the book contains a lot of information that will add to my knowledge , skill, or change my outlook in life for the better. There are about 3 dozens of books that I own - some of them are here, while some have been borrowed by friends who never remembered to return them back hehe.

Item# 8 Keyboard

This is what I use to release my stress. I can play the keyboard all day without noticing the passing of time - because each time I hit the keys, I feel that I am one with music. There's this feeling of oneness and tranquility when I play the keyboard that I cannot explain hehe..

I guess those are some of the most prominent things that you can see inside my workstation hehe..

At 2 o'clock in the afternoon

It's 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and I feel like wandering around the house - for a change hehe. What I did is I grabbed my digicam and started taking pictures of everything I fancy...So, what are my housemates doing at this time of the day? Hmmmm...

Shot #1: Milo and His ANIME Saga

My first shot was taken inside my work room. Milo is watching ANIME (AGAIN). He does this everyday and he keeps on bugging me to let him use the computer to watch Anime for hours. This is the "one thing" that we fight over because he can watch anime videos for 24 hours straight (imagine that!). It's a good thing that we have now settled his watching time (after lunch only for 1 hour) Hehehe

SHOT#2: Anabelle and her I'm-Bored-I-Gotta-Play-Computer-Chorva-Saga

I went to our bedroom and guess what I saw? Another housemate using the computer! (No wonder our electric bill's increasing haha) I asked my little sister what she's doing and she said, "Eto bored, kaya naglalaro ako ng mind puzzle games para ndi ma bore haha"

SHOT#3: Mark and his Mr. Bean Saga

Here's my youngest sibling watching the TV super up close - He's watching Mr. Bean Episode# 39 for the nth time (hayyyys).

Hmmm...I'm left with nothing to do na...Someone's watching the TV and someone's using the computer. Oh, I know - I'll just go and play the keyboard =)

SHOT#4 Arianne and her Casio Saga

I went inside the master's bedroom and guess what I saw? My sister Arianne playing the keyboard. Well, for all it's worth, I'll just let her play with it muna 'coz shes really stressed from work. We both play the keyboard to release stress hehe..

SHOT#5: My PETS and their sleeping SAGA

I decided to just play with my pets for a while, but to my dismay -THEY ARE ALL SOUND ASLEEP! (boo-hoo). Anyway, I just stared at them while they're sleeping and it sent a calming effect on me hehe

Here's Sahkoe sleeping on the shoe rack:

Here's Dikya soud asleep on the kitchen floor:

Here are my pet hamsters inside their cage at the living room:

SHOT#6 FINALLY! Ailene and her Chocolate SAGA!

Without nothing to do, I just looked around the house and kept thinking on what I could possibly do at this time of the day...A-HA! I remember there's a box of chocolate left inside the ref (ehehehe) I hurriedly opened it up and looked for that sweet little thing...

Finally! My work day usually starts at 7 am and ends at 4 pm. I would wake up at around 5 am to eat breakfast, take a bath, and leave the house at 6 am to ride the bus, MRT, and jeepney. It takes about an hour to get to the office - just in time to clock in 2-3 minutes before 7 am. After I get sitted on my work area, I would turn on the computer, log in to yahoo messenger, and schec some company emails. Afterwards, my daily work routine is set to roll for the next 7 hours.

Fast forward to the present...

A series of events have made me decide to give up my office job, and pursue freelancing instead. Now, I get to work from the comforts ofmy own home without the need to worry about the traffic, about geting late, and about worrying what clothes to wear. But it's not easy to worl at home - Mind you, it takes a tremendous amount of discipline if you decide to work at home. It's tempting to sleep all the way through lunchtime (hehe) and not do anything at all. And it's even more tempting to work too much (speaking from my experience) since, time is in your hands.

It's a good thing that I am slowly getting the hang of it and starting to build up a work schedule. I work inside my bedroom before, but a very good friend of mine said that it would be better if I have a separate work area - because I tend to be workaholic. A work area will separate my work life from home life she says. And so I heeded my friend's advice (a couple of months later, haha).

Here's my workstation:

The Law Of Opposite Attraction

As long as I can remember, I have known that dogs and cats just could not go along well together. Go and watch cartoons and you will see storyboards where the dog always chases the cat, always ready to tear him to pieces hehe.. But would it be possible to form a friendship between these two? Take a look at the pictures I have taken with my pets sahkoe (cat) and dikya (puppy):

i REALLLY LOVE MY PETS =)

My New Puppy...DIKYA

Yes, her name is DIKYA hehe. A lot of people have reacted against this name. Some said it's too ugly a name for a cute puppy like her, some said that I did not even care to come up with a decent name. Well for all it's worth, I did...actually the family did come up with a lot of decent names for this cute little puppy. But horror of all horrors, she chose her name! hahahaha!

You may not beieve me, but it's true. She really chose her name. How? Well the story goes on like this..

Me and my 3 other siblings were thinking as to what name should we call her. Well, we decided to call her with our chosen names and then if she responded then that will be her name. For more

than 30 minutes, we have been calling her names but she did not even gave a nudge haha.. I guess this cute little puppy has gone bored because she did not like any of it.

My mother came home, just as we were trying to figure out what name to call this puppy. Laging sya ang nauunang mag greet ng Happy Monthsarry mahal ko (either sa text, sms, or email). Syempre ako naman si Ms. Makakalimutin laging hindi on track kung anong petsa n ba ngaun. But after our 2nd year as a couple, I promised myself I would never forget (again) our monthsarry. December 17, 2008 (Wednesday). It was our monthsarry yesterday. Milo and I left for office at around 6 am. So ayan, naalala ko na tong special day na to hehehe. Dahil pa-girl na ako ngaun (kuno) at nasanay na akong sya ang unang nagi-greet, di ako umimik. 5:30 am sinundo na ako ni Milo sa bahay nmin para magsabay papauntang office.

Like the usual, we boarded the bus, then the MRT. Usually, we part ways at Ortigas station kasi sa Shaw pa ang baba ko. But this daywas different. Milo did not get out of the MRT when we arrived at the Ortigas station. Instead, he told me na sasabayan niya ako bumaba sa Shaw Bouleveard Station.

He replied, "Kasi gusto kitang protektahan e. I want to make sure na safe ka bago ako pumasok ng office." I was touched. However, it seems that there is something missing. Di ba monthsarry namin ngaun? He did not greet me. When I got to the office I was asking myself kung 17th ba talaga ngayon. I even double checked my calendar just to make sure. Nakalimutan nga niya. For the first time in our 2 year relationship, nakalimutan niya ang monthsarry namin. Now I know kung ano ang feelingng nakakalimutan.

Kung ano ano na ang tumatakbo sa isip ko. Bakit kaya gnun sya ngayon? Hay, napaparanoid na ako. But to my surprise, Milo sent me a message on yahoo messenger after lunch with these very touching words: (unedited)

"milo (12/17/2008 12:22:51 PM): HAPPY MONTHSARRY I LOVE YOU I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU AND LOVE YOU TILL MY LAST BREATH. I WANT TO MARRY YOU AND TO HAVE CUTE HANDSOME AND BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. SORRY IF I AM HURTIN YOUR FEELINGS SOMETIMES. SORRY FOR MY SHORTCOMINGS. I LOVE YOU. KAHIT ANO KA KAHIT ANO PA MAN TANGGAP KITA NG BUONG BUO WALANG PAGAALINLANGAN. ANO MAN SABIHIN NG IBANG TAO WALA AKONG PAKIALAM. I never thought we would be together. Who knows what would fate bring us? All I know is that I am very much happy and contented with him...He makes me feel special, beautiful, and important - even if I'm not. I simply could not ask for more. Kahit na may topak ako, He never dared try to yell at me or physically and emotionally hurt me. When I ask him why wouldn't he yell at me or lash out his sentiments...all he would say with tears falling from his cheeks are "Mahal kita e, kaya ayaw kitang masaktan...ako nalang".

Tell me - who would not fall in love with that kind of guy? He could have chosen a sexy and very beautiful woman over me. I tell myself, He's too handsome for me. A lot of people reacted when we became a couple. My sister even told me we're like "puto at dinuguan", an unusual combination.

But this unusual combination couple lasted 2 years...and counting. Time runs so fast, we say to each other "wow, parang kailan lang...".

September 17, 2008 marked our 2nd year as a couple. I was touched and deeply moved when he decided to buy me a ring (actually it was a pair, one for him and one for me) out of his "first salary"... Engraved on each ring was "MALT.JC.LEN", which represents the 3 major personalities invloved our relationship - Milo (Malt), Jesus Christ (JC), and Ailene (Len). The rings may not cost that much, but it's the thought and sincerity that matters. Sabay sabi nang "Ikaw ang gusto kong makasama habang buhay..."

Only time can tell..and if it's God's will, if we would really end up together in holy matrimony...

Successful or Lost in the Haze?

Hey you...yes you. You who is reading this post. Have you felt the feeling of being lost? Of being confused of what is happening around you? Have you felt chaos inside you inspite of total peace around you? Have you felt the need to transform yourself, but keeps getting back down to zero?

Finding peace again...I know that you called me...I lost myself for good within your promise...These are the words that is being played on my media player. The song is entitled "To The Ends Of The Earth". It struck me as I was writing this blog post. My original plan for this post is to lash out insecurities and failures in life. But as I am listening to this song, I know God has an unfailing love for us...whatever our flaws are..God isn't finished with us just yet.

We got lost in the haze of the world's standards - It looks fine and inviting outside, but when you get the hang of it, IT WILL REALLY NOT MAKE YOU HAPPY. IT WILL NOT REALLY DEFINE WHO YOU ARE.

Success is not measured by how much money you are earning. It isn't measured either by how many clothes, food, and gadgets you can buy. If you think that success is not being able to work 8 hours a day and still earn bucks..you are wrong too.

Tell me what is the best deal? Being successsful in the world's standards but ultimately losing your soul? Or being successful in God's sight?

I'm not saying that you must quit your job and friends in order to be successful in GOD's sight. You can earn as many bucks as you can, or be popular - but still pleasing God.

We can only find rest in our soul in Christ alone...

Have you found your inner peace?

Still
Words and Music by Reuben Morgan

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

Christianity Taught By An Atheist

<itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:author>noreply@blogger.com (Lia)</itunes:author>

<feedburner:origEnclosureLink>http://www.youtube.com/v/INttODEPzp0&hl=en&fs=1</feedburner:origEnclosureLink>

What I Have Learned About Blessings

I was having a chat with my sister last night about how I am so much amazed about what is happening on my freelance writing job. You see, everything has been going great - I became a full-time writer for a certain client that gives me a monthly salary that is way much higher than what oher companies offers me here in Manila. Not only that, I am also being trained to be a project manager in the Philippines for their US-based company (meaning, double salary rate). Another client has also given me a huge project that is good for 4-5 months. With all these blessings from the LORD, I simply could not ask for more! I was on the verge of crying yesterday for the overwhelming joy that I could not contain. All I could mutter was Glory to God! Glory to God!

I have thought about what I should do with my spare time. Hey, I can sleep the rest of the day, watch TV, do malling, travel, etc. With my earnings, I can now buy what I want - gadgets, books, clothes, food, land property...these things preoccupied my mind for the next couple of minutes.

As I was thinking and "dreaming" about what I could do with my money and spare time, I asked God: Lord what would you want me to do with all these? I earn twice my salary in Pasig now with less than 8 hours of working. You have blessed me fiancially, and I have got more spare time.

Then something struck me: GOD gives you something in order for you to be a blessing to others. I knew this was the message of God to me when I read a passage from the Bible:

"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms" 1 Peter 4:10

I also found this while reading a booklet:

You were put on earth to make a contribution. You weren't just created just to consume resources - to eat, breathe, and take up space. God designed you to make a difference in your life. - Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life

It's very clear to me now. The financial blessings and lots of spare time that I have now are not for my selfish use. It should be used in order to help out others, so that the grace of God can be felt around me. God has been so good to me, and I will tell the world how much God has been good to me by sharing what I have now.

With my large amount of spare time, I can now focus on preparing for the upcoming bible studies here in Manila and other minstry works that God has been preparing for me all this time. I can have more quality time with my family - helping my sibling with their school projects, doing home errands, as well as having heart to heart talk with them.

What's more, I can now help my friends earn by sharing some of my projects with them.

I could choose to do all these things, or keep all the blessings to myself. However, I know that God is telling me to bless others as He has blessed me. I have learned a lot about being selfish and being a giver through the Dead Sea and the Red Sea:

THE DEAD SEA (Stagnant, No Outlet, Breeds Only Death)

The Dead Sea is a terminal lake: water leaves only through evaporation. Water has historically come in mainly from the Jordan River, which flows south into the Dead Sea. Because of the consumption of freshwater in the drainage basin, very little water reaches the Dead Sea today. There are no outlet streams. (http://www.geotimes.org/nov02/NN_dead.html)

THE RED SEA (Vibrant, Full Of Life)

The main reasons for the better development of reef systems along the Red Sea is because of its greater depths and an efficient water circulation pattern, The Red Sea water mass exchanges its water with the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean via the Gulf of Aden. These physical factors reduce the effect of high salinity caused by evaporation and cold water in the north and relatively hot water in the south.

The Red Sea is one of the most saline water bodies in the world, due to the effects of the water circulation pattern, resulting from evaporation and wind stress. Salinity ranges between 3.6 and 3.8%. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Sea)

TOP VIEW OF RED SEA AND DEAD SEA

The Dead Sea can be compared to selfishness. You only receive and receive, but does not want to give out to others. The result? Death. Look at the Dead Sea, it gets water from the Jordan River, but it does not have an outlet. Water gets stuck in there, so it becomes so salty. You cannot drink from it, and no marine life can be found there. Being selfish makes people get away from you, because you keep telling them that you can't give anything (althought you have what they need). Yes, you get to hoard and keep much to yourself, but you are of little use to others.

On the other hand, the Red Sea can be compared to givers. These are people who receives something and gladly shares it with others. The result: LIFE. The Red Sea also receives water from the Jordan River, but it lets the water flow to the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Gulf Of Aden. Many marine animals can be found here, and the water is very saline. Givers have many friends. On top of that, when you give out, it gets back to you more than what you gave.

LIFE LESSON: Blessings should flow THROUGH you, not only TO you

What God Requires

This is my first bible study during my quiet time this morning. Well, it has been months since I studied the Word of God for my personal bible study beacsue I have been so busy with my freelance writing. I have forgotten how refreshing and uplifting it is to dig up nuggets of gold by studying the Sciptures. I used the Devotional method of bible study for this passage. Here it goes:

TEXT: Psalms 15

1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?
2 He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,

4 who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath
even when it hurts,

5 who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
will never be shaken.

SINS TO CONFESS:

Disobedience

Slandering

Spreading Rumors

Breaking Promise

Being Bribed

Testifying Against The Innocent

PROMISES TO CLAIM:

"...Whoever does these things will always be secure" Psalms 15:5

Those who do what God requires will be able to enter the temple of the Lord and be able to worship on Zion, the sacred hill of God.

COMMAND TO FOLLOW

Obey God in everything and always do what is right, always practice true and sincere words

Do not slander others

Do not do wrong to your friends

Do not spread rumors against you neighbors

Despise whom God rejects

Honor those who obey the Lord

Always do what you promise no matter how much it may cost

Make loans without charging interest

Do not be bribed to testify against the innocent

MEMORY VERSE: Psalms 15:1-2, 5

"LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? With my freelance writing job getting stable and expanding, I can now have more time for ministry work. I alloted 5 hours for freelance and the remaining hours of the day studying and preparing for the upcoming bible studies here in Manila. I am just so excited knowing that I am going to get into ministry again. I thank God for giving me back the fire I once had wehn I was just starting out as a Christian. For my next posts, you will see the different bible studies that I have made during my devotional time.

Renewal

I have been dreaming of weird things these past few days, and most of them are about "me" getting a dip or taking a plunge on water. One of those dreams include a flowing river, wherein I jumped in and afterwards became a baby. Another dream (just last night) is set on a resort with some kind of water falls. I was with this small baby girl that keeps telling me that she wants to go and take a dip. Well I did not allow her to do so because she might slip and get a head bonking on those rocks. After that, I told her that we need to go. We passed these long tunnels that is so narrow, that I have trouble getting through it. When I got out of the tunnel, the baby girl was gone. Then the location was suddenly transformed from a resort to a wooden house. Do you know what? I was looking for some place to take a bath, but could not find one. From there, I was so frustrated getting drenched in water that time..until I woke up.

Well, it's so weird indeed. I asked myself, what is the significance of that dream? Why is it that when I dream of water, there is a little girl or a baby? Why am I so frustrated to get drenched in water, but at the same time afraid of taking a dip on the water falls?

I told my father about my weird dreams. You know what he told me? He said that water symbolizes purification, and a baby symbolizes renewal or regeneration.

I also looked after the meaning of water and baby in reference to what the bible says. Here they are:

WATER

The Bible looks at water in many different ways, using it as a symbol of destruction (Genesis 6-9), cleansing (Exodus 30:18), blessing (Jeremiah 17:8) and spiritual need (Psalm 42).

BABY/CHILD:

New birth; barren women pitied; reproductive; ministry in its infancy stage; helpless; new Christian; baby Christian; new move of God; spiritual immaturity; reward; fruitfulness; new covenant; miracle. (1 Corinthians 3:1; Gen. 21:6; 1 Sam. 2:1-10; 2 Kings 4:11-17; Gen. 16:1-6; Ps. 127:3; Ex. 1:15-22; 2:1-10; 1 Peter 2:2; Heb. 5:13)

I still do not know what is the significance of my dream, looking at the different meanings of those symbols. All I know is that I am a Christian that is a work in progress. God is not finished with me yet, and I should continually abide in Him.

On Being Happy

In the picture, just look at their condition.. no place to sleep, still they have

made some space for d cat n d dog... water poring from the roof but still

each 1 of them have a peaceful smile on their face.. If one of the wings are not used (either the left or the right), the bird would not be able to fly - and it will surely fall.

Bible Study requires effort, time, and resources

Common Barriers to Bible Study:

Pride

Laziness

Dishonesty

The problem is our own negligence, not the Bible.

Facing The Giants

I just watched the movie “Facing The Giants” this afternoon. I just finished crying hard as I am writing this blog entry. This movie is about a high school football team who has been considered as one of the most inferior teams for the past decade, but has turned out to be the state champion at the end of the season.

Now, did they have the biggest bodies? No. Most of them are skinny. Are they the strongest? No. How can skinny bodies be strong? Did they have lots of experience? Well, they did have an experience playing football, but as a losing team. If they do not have all the qualities needed for a great football team, then how on earth did they win? Did they cheat? Of course not!

The Eagles football team of Shiloh Christian Academy may not have the characteristics that the world considers as fitting for a great football team, but they have one great ally—JESUS CHRIST. You see, this team played for the glory of God. It’s not about the game itself, but doing the best that you can so that God may be glorified.

Their team has this great philosophy: “When we win, we praise God. When we lose, we still praise God”. Truly, they have been through lots of trials—but in the end, it’s still about praising and glorifying GOD.

I have been moved by watching the film. Every scene cut through my heart, as if God is telling me something. Hey, I knew these things: that our life should be offered to God, that it’s not all about us, that nothing is impossible to God, that we should live a life that is pleasing to God. I knew them well—but it has been a long time since I practiced doing them. I just realized that I am here, slowly drifting away from the truth that I once knew. I became preoccupied with work, with how I should look like externally, with how would people say about me.

I have forgotten that it’s all about God, not me. A lot of my time has been spent making money, watching tv, and browsing the internet these past few days, weeks, and months. I never had the time to talk to God, read the bible, or attend fellowship. I am starting to live as if I do not need God anymore.

But do you know what? As I watch the film, God is moving into my heart as if telling me, “Ailene, come back to me. I know the big giant that you have been going through right now. I am here. Do not fear. You are safe with me. Nothing is impossible with me. I can make that giant fall flat on his face and give you victory.”

As the movie ended, I headed straight to the bedroom and cried. I thanked God for touching me this day, and for reassuring me that nothing is impossible for Him. I only have to believe, and give Him my best shot—because God is my strength when I am at my weakest.

Will You Be Able To Escape THE BIG T?

Imagine a fisherman. We all know that a fisherman’s main job is to catch fish, right? A good fisherman will certainly have the right tools and equipment to do that work effectively. So basically, a fisherman will have a fishing net, fishing rod, hook, and bait. He knows what bait is best for certain fishes and when to use them. The fisherman knows his fish very well, and catches them off guard.

Now, imagine that the ocean is the earth, the fish are the people, the bait are the temptations, and the fisherman is the devil.

Remember what I said earlier? The fisherman’s job is to catch fish. Same thing—the devil’s job is to tempt us and lure us to committing sin. He does this effectively. Why? BECAUSE HE KNOWS US. He watches us and knows our weak spots. From there, the devil uses just the right bait in order to catch us and give in to temptation. Given the right situation and degree, each of us is vulnerable to committing sin.

There are 3 major temptations that we are being tempted according to 1 John 2:15-17

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world -- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life -- is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever" (1 John 2:15-17)

1. LUST OF THE EYE – This can be attributed to delight in riches and possessions—the sin of covetousness.

2. LUST OF THE FLESH – This can be attributed to desiring things of the flesh, such as adultery and fornication. Adultery is committing illicit sexual relations between married individuals. On the other hand, fornication is a illicit sexual conduct between unmarried individuals. Homosexuality can also be included in this area.

3. PRIDE OF LIFE – This can be attributed to vanity and a craving for applause and honor. It can also mean a stubborn mind-set that refuse to repent of sin.

We are all vulnerable to committing sin, right? Let us examine our heart and mind, if we are always caught by the bait of temptation. If we find out that we are vulnerable then we must make an action plan on how to prevent temptations from seizing us. But the question is: Can We Overcome Temptation When It Feels and Looks Good?
--------
My next post will tackle about how to overcome temptation.

Before And After

Conceited. Selfish. Arrogant. Those are the exact words that best describes me 3 years ago – before I have come to know Christ as my Lord and Savior. I do not know my purpose in life then. You see, I am a 3rd year college student who sees life as finishing college, getting a job, helping the family, and building a family of my own. My monthly allowance was spent on chatting at the internet café, watching cable TV from dawn till dusk, strolling at the mall, having a movie marathon with my friends, or having a food trip. I am always fond of experimenting new things, because I want to prove everybody that I am exceptionally gifted.

But all that has changed one afternoon when I met this man, who, after a couple of weeks had gradually introduced me into a new world – and that is when I joined The Servants.

My primary motivation for joining The Servants was to become “more” famous and to “show-off” my talent in art and music. Well, I got what I wanted. I was always seen at every program in the college of Business, Economics and Management. Many people have come to know and like me, which I have taken advantage to run for a seat in the student council and taking the post as Secretary.

My quest for popularity and hunger for power and recognition has been slowly deteriorating the longer I get involved in The Servants. Suddenly it hit me: All I have – my talents, skills, and even possessions are not for my own selfish use. God has given me these gifts in order to be of help to others.

One thing led to another, and I found myself playing the keyboard at church and heading the music team. It feels good knowing that you are offering what you are to the one who created you, and who has enabled you to do things that other’s cannot. I have come to realize that the greatest gift that we can offer to God is how much of ourselves are we willing to submit to God for His purpose. As Romans 12:1-2 says:

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”

Liar Liar

There's too much lie around us - the news, events, and even people. I remember somebody saying that lying is ok, as long as no one is hurt or you have not affected anyone by it. Well, some prominent people in our history even promoted lying:

Adolf Hitler:

"Make the lie BIG, Make it simple, Keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it"

George Eliot:

Falsehood is easy, truth so difficult.

Some people even say that lying is bad ..but "white lie" isn't. Well, white lie is still lying, right? So what's the difference between them?

I hate liars...because they deceive someone into believeing something that is not really true. Do you know what I call them? "emotional manipulators".

23 years of living in this world has exposed me to different types of liars: amateur liars, average liars, and even professional liars. I once considered them as trustworthy, but after they did..it's quite difficult to trust them again.

There will be liars around you..but the truth will always prevail. It hurts so much to believe someone that would eventually turn out to be a deceiver.

You may have got away with what you have done..but God sees your every move.

Amazing Bible Facts!

A Central Bible Thought

What chapter is right in the middle of the Bible? Psalm 118. (The shortest chapter: Psalm 117; the longest chapter: Psalm 119!)

It’s preceded by 594 chapters, and it’s followed by 594 chapters. If you add the number of preceding chapters to the number of following chapters, you get 1188 … and Psalm 118:8 is the center verse, which says: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”

I am Back!

Well, this is my first post after 2 months of leaving my blogsite dormant. I must say that I have a lot of things to do...so making a post seemed to be next to impossible. Right now, I promised myself that I will be posting everyday before I do anything. You know, writing your own thoughts can be so much fun and therapeutical (at least in my part..lolz)

Hmmm... so what have been I been doing these past 2 months? To update you of what is happening in my life well here it goes:

JUNE

"The Purge"

The company that I have been working for the last 1 year and 6 months has been closed. I was one of the few persons that have been given an offer to relocate to Manila. but I declined it. The reason why I declined it was that I have a ministry in Legazpi and I just could not leave it.

"Freelancer"

I decided to spend..err invest my separation pay for a brand new laptop AND an internet connection. Well, I told myself that maybe I should try freelancing..I got my first stint as a freelancer from Ate Razh (A million thanks to you ate!)

"JDC Villa Hermosa 1st Anniversarry"

Praise God! The ministry that God has entrusted to us in Villa Hermosa has just celebrated its 1st anniversarry. My co-church leaders had spent a great deal of time and energy in preparing for the upcoming activity..and it was a success!

JULY

"First Paycheck as a Freelancer"

Well, I got my first paycheck of 9,500 php as a freelancer (not bad, for spending just 4 hours in front of the laptop to make short blog entries and articles from various clients).

"Clients Coming In"

I never thought that I would enjoy freelancing. I just apply online to as many openings possible..It astounded me because of the approved applications from clients ..hehehe

"Employer On The Spot"

Because of the pouring in of clients, I decided to give the other projects to my friends and other co-employees in my previous company. Well, I couldn't do all those projects all by self. It was good..and I felt better becasue I get to help other people. Glory to GOD.

AUGUST

"RELOCATION"

I went packing to Manila during the 2nd week of August - because one of my previous bosses has called me and told me that a work is waiting for me there.

"BACK TO FREELANCING"

I went to my previous company, anticipating that I would start working days after that..but I was told that the HR is still arranging something and that I have to wait for another call. After 1 week, I was informed by the HR that my "coming back" to the office was freezed.

"When a door of opportunity closes, another window of opportunity opens"

Even though I never had the chance to come back to my previous company God has other plans for me. I really can't believe of the blessings that has been pouring out lately. I got 7 direct clients from the US..other ranging from $2.7 per hour to $5 per hour. Now I get to earn twice my salary in Pasig. Just recently, I earned a 5-digit paycheck for only 1 week of working online! I also have other local clients, which I pass on to my friends. GOD really deserves all the honor and glory!

CONCLUSION

I must say that "The Purge" last June 19 has opened up doors of opportunities for me..I want to thank the company, because if not for the 5-digit separation pay that I have received, I would not be able to purchase a laptop and get an internet connection. In fact, I already earned back the money that I had spent..and even helping colleaues to earn an extra cash. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

My Published Article

Headlights Canada

It has been a matter of concern for vehicle owners to drive safely due to the soaring rate of car accidents down the road. For this reason, many car owners have been very busy inquiring and checking the safety features installed on their car. Among these are the lighting system components that serve the primary purpose of illuminating the road ahead. There are various lighting system components installed on every part of your car that contribute a unique function. The headlights are among the major components of your lighting system that can be found at the front area of your car, just below the bumpers.

Also known as headlamps, these vital lighting system components serve as your guide during the late hours of the night as well as during moments of blurred road conditions in bad weather. There are different variations of headlights, but they are all composed of a reflector, filament and lens that are combined into a sealed beam construction. When you are changing headlights, make sure that you wear protective glasses because the pressurized gas in it can produce flying fragments if it becomes shattered. Installation is so much easy, because your headlights have prongs that could easily fit into the wiring socket of your car.

Should you see the need to replace your factory installed headlights, why not consider buying one at Auto Parts Canada? Do not worry, because our stocks have been sourced from the most trusted and renowned car parts manufacturers online. Not only that, you will not be spending a lot of money, because all our products are highly affordable! Just place your orders online or by phone, and we will be shipping your order in absolutely no time at all!

My posted articles

I have been employed in US Autopars Netwrok for more than a year as a content writer.
