Representing a mid level front load washer is the wf220anw, it is slightly larger and has a few extra features over a bare bones entry level model, but lacks some of the truly high end features, like steam cleaning, of the most expensive front loaders on the market. With a large capacity and an attractive price tag, Samsung is attempting to appeal to those who want a no frills front load washer capable of handling the rigors of doing laundry for a family.

By pairing a comparatively low price with a healthy list of features Samsung is is attempting to attract those consumers who want all the benefits of having a front load washer, but don't want to spend the money on some of the high-end features that are available on some models.

This model has been around for a decent amount of time, and has also been fairly popular, so there are a good number of reviews out there to be found for it, meaning that these numbers can be accepted with a reasonable level of confidence. The trends with what people like best about the Samsung WF330ANW/XAA follow the same as that of other front load washers, consumers like its capacity, and number of features. Worth thinking about here is that claim that this washer has the largest capacity in its class. Looking around at the reviews that are out there for the Maytag MHWE450WW does not paint a good picture for this model of front load washer. Relative to most of the other front load washers reviewed here, this is an extremely low rating, that comes with a fair degree of stability as there are a reasonable number of reviews out there for the MHWE450WW. There are about half as many reviewers that gave this washer a 1 star rating as that gave it 5 stars. Reading through the 1 star reviews quickly shows a trend. This washer seems to have issues with the bearings for the washing drum. There are numerous reviews that complain about the need to replace the bearings early on into the life of this washer, and a number more that complain about severe vibrations, which it is conceivable could be caused by bad bearings. If this happens after the warranty period is up, then the machine is just junk, as the repair will cost well more than the price of the machine brand new, which is somewhat puzzling. If this happens during the warranty period, sure they will be replaced without charge, but the washer might be out of service for a few days.

It is entirely likely that the Maytag company does not manufacture that bearings that there are so many complaints about failures of for this model. Also, it is curious that there aren't more complaints about bearing failures for other models that Maytag makes. The reality of the situation is that this particular model does have these complaints, and consumers have other options when it comes to a midsized front load washer, for instance there is the LG WM2140CW, which has received much better ratings from consumers and is even slightly cheaper. For approximately the same price as the Maytag MHWE450WW there is the Bosch WFVC6450UC, which has a slightly larger tub and Bosch's industry leading efficiencies. With all purchases of this magnitude, do your homework before making a final decision, and hopefully everything will work out well.

Kenmore washers, the proprietary brand of the Sears company, has been one of the most recognizable names in American appliances for decades now. Sears is the only retailer selling the Kenmore brand of appliances, however, Sears is not in the manufacturing business. The manufacture of Kenmore appliances is handled by another company. There are not as many models in the Kenmore lineup as there are other brands, like LG, nor does it seem to make any particular claim, like Bosch which claims to be the most efficient brand on the market. This model in particular is the least expensive compact front load washer that reviewed here, but it makes up for it by having significantly fewer features than some of its competition.

When looking at the consumer ratings for this model of washing machine, what you find is alarming, though perhaps not terribly surprising. The only other Kenmore washer reviewed here got some of the lowest ratings found here. Check out the Kenmore 48102 review for more information. The story told by consumers about the Kenmore 4041 washer is even worse. Overall, this washer has been given only 2 stars by consumers. With some other models reviewed here, there is the caveat that there aren't a large number of ratings provided, so the numbers aren't as meaningful as they might be. That is not the case with this washer though, there are well over 100 reviews listed for this washer, and the results are still this bad. With that being said, typically a discussion of any trending of positive and negative comments would follow. However, when the reviews are consistently this low, the logical path is quite simply, don't buy this washer. Sure, at about $700, this is much cheaper alternative than say the LG WM1355HW, which will set you back 900 or so, but that washer had an overall 4.7/5 rating when reviewed here a while ago. In a market where having the next big thing is important, LG has continued to release new models and discontinue older models. In this vein, LG has recently released the WM3360HWCA front load washer. Even though this model is likely to take some sales away from older, but very successful and popular models with similar size and lists of features like the WM2501HWA, which has a slightly smaller capacity but is extremely popular, or the LG WM2801HWA, which has the same capacity. The new WM3360HWCA is not a totally redundant model though, as it does feature some new or improved options over the older models, and for this reason, it at least warrants consideration by anyone looking for a new steam cleaning front load washer.

For the same price, the WM2140CW offers a larger capacity and a more robust list of features, including some that have been developed since the release of the WM2010CW.

Despite being relatively a cheaper steam cleaning front load washer, the LG WM2801HWA was by no means inexpensive, still costing nearly double that of an entry level LG front loader without steam options, like the LG WM2016CW. If, as a consumer, having a washer with steam cycles is important to you, then you're got to be willing to pay the premium price associated with these features. At the time it was new, LG was still the only company to offer steam cycles on their front load washers.
