“But we have
this treasure in earthen vessels, that the Excellency of the power may be of
God, and not of us.” 2Cor.4:7

God in his
infinite wisdom is so great and so powerful, allowed me to be a part of what He
was doing in my brother, Bryan’s life. He was diagnosed with cancer two years
prior to his passing on August 25, 2014 and although God didn't answer my
prayer the way I wanted him too, I know that Bryan was saved and is with the
Lord in heaven.

The Lord had
given Pastor Neva a word in the form of a vision for his mother a few months
before he passed away. In this word, she has a vision of a beautifully crafted,
antique hope, chess, which the owner had meticulously restored so that it’s
value far exceeded the worth of the treasure in it, and it was full of
treasures. The kind that women kept as dowries before they went off to be
married. And in this hope chess was filled all types of beautiful, rich and
precious stones; diamonds and rubies and great pearls.

Bryan was
“that” hope chess and God had fully restored him over the last two years of his
life to his full, divine potential and calling. He was witnessing, leading a men
group, telling everyone who he came in contact with about the Lord, all while
going through cancer. God had allowed his mother to witness this transformation
and she would be able to open that treasure chest and remember all the
beautiful things that God has done in Bryan’s life before he went on to be with
Lord.

Like meeting and seeing his 11 year old daughter for the very first time;
and spending quality time getting to know her before he death; almost as if he
knew something we would not dare to speak; but instinctively, knew.

Bryan and I
grew up together in the same house and were all raised together. We were more
than first cousins, but best friends; he was my brother. I am an only child,
and the daughter his mother never had. Bryan was my champion. He loved food,
and he liked to spar and fight, and he loved to talk and debate. He could have
been a professional fighter. He was that good. He was quick on his feet and
with his hands and he was country strong.

(L-R) Sandra, Jay, Vonita, Tyress Bryan

So right
about the time we started high school, we moved into our first new three bedroom
house and all the brothers were deciding which room they wanted and who they
would share a room with. They were told I was moving in and my room had already
been picked they were quite upset and kept asking why is Nita getting her own
room. My aunt said because she’s a girl. They got madder. But Bryan would argue
back and tell the brothers, she getting a room because mama said so and start
laughing.

When the
brothers started getting in trouble Bryan was the disciplinary in the house. He
would ask if my aunt if she wanted him to whip them for her. And then he would
get in their face and start laughing. They would get so made. Sometimes they
would all be fighting. Bryan was the smallest in size but he would take them
all on. So all throughout the neighborhood, on the playground and at school
they nick named him "The Brunt" he was the main force or impact, in our life and family.

We did
everything together. We go saved together. Bryan would preach on the school bus
going to school. I would sing and pray. If they argued with him he would laugh
and tell them that’s why they going to hell and they had better get saved. Many
souls were converted on the bus.

Later, he
talked me and the oldest brother Ron to get into the navy with him. We hid from
that recruiter for weeks after passing all the test including the physical.
Bryan ended up going by himself on that one and we laughed about it later.

There is
absolutely no doubt in my mind that Bryan did not make it to heaven. He is
resting from all his labor in the arms of Jesus.

I thank God for
the treasure of being able to witness Bryan being restored and reconciled him
back to the Lord. He left here more
fulfilled in the purposes and plan of God than ever. Poured himself out as a
drink offering to the Lord by serving in His last 5 years with Pastor Gee, and
I am forever grateful that God allowed me to witness that.

To my family, I say”
be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for
the Lord thy God for God is with thee withersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9)

Bryan was a
precious gift to us in Gods Treasure Box.

It's hard to believe that it's been a year since our last post. We were faced with many changes and challenges in 2014, but God who is faithful brought us through it all.

As I read some of the old post and podcast I began to reflect on the Prayerwall page and many of the personal and group prayer request and marveled at how God answered many, if not all of our prayer request.

Last year this time my pastor, Neva Lema,(Restoration City Church) was rushed to the hospital and after arriving, within minutes was placed on life support for a punctured and severely infected intestines. She had been back and forth to the doctors and complaining about not feeling well for three months. It was a miracle that she went to the hospital emergency room when she did. The doctors later said had she not come in when she did she would have died within hours.

She remained on life support and in intensive care for five days, when the doctors told us to gather her family because they had done all they could do; but God said not so. We gathered the family, called all the church members and began to bombard heaven as she lay there unaware of anything that was going on. Her family, who depended on her for spiritual, moral and emotional support was beside themselves to say the least.

I happened to be in the hospital that cold Thursday night, (not really, since I don't believe in happenstance? I was on a divine appointment when one of the young doctors assigned to her case came through the hospital doors with that cold, sanitary, hospital look of doom and gloom to tell her husband, son, sister and grandson that it didn't look good. A younger person would not have been able to stand the trauma that her body had endured, the fact that she was a senior, with a generic bone disease, who stood about four feet tall, who was already frail and had got down to 68 pounds was probably not going to make it.

Before the doctor could get the words out of his mouth, her son began to sob and break down, but the Holy One in me, the one who knows that God is not Dead but He's is alive, and He is roaring like a Lion, stood up within me at that very moment and looked that doctor square in his eye and said, you don't know my pastor and you don't know our God. She may look frail but you don't know her resolve; she is resilient. I told that doctor to do everything in his power to save her life and my God would do the rest. And God did just that.

A few weeks later she was released from ICU and transferred to another hospital for follow-up care, and from there to a convalescent home for a few weeks of rehabilitation and then home. The only difference this time is she would be going home with a colostomy bag. Something the doctors said may take years for her body to adjust to because they were sure her body could not stand another traumatic surgery to reverse it. She was back at church and preached her first sermon three months later. Still weak but stronger in her faith than she'd ever been before but glad to be alive.

If you ask her where was God when she was laying in the hospital bed between life and death, she will tell you God was there all the time. Praise God, He did it again!

You can join us weekday mornings @ 6am (pst) by calling in 559-726-1200 access code 523740

Are you taken up with the cares of this life? Is your conversation or heart joyful over things rather than the Lord and His Word?

Does anything mean more to you than living for and pleasing God? There's a cure for that in the Word of God found in Philippians 1:20-21

The cares of this often come in to choke out the Word of God. Especially during this final quarter of the year. It's easy to look at commercials and think about all the things you wish you had.

Lets make this a season of truly giving and a time to remember those who are truly less fortunate than we are. A very dear friend of mine, whom I met ministering to people on the streets in the heart of downtown Los Angeles is doing just that.

Sister Miriam and her husband have started a new ministry and are in need of support. Things like blankets and socks as they minister to those who are living on the street. A warm cup of noodles goes a long way on a cold night living on the street.

We want to be a blessing to them this season by not only praying but sending donations of any amount to them at:

Radical Remnants For Christ Ministries
506 San Pedro
Los Angeles, CA 90013

For the Kingdom of God is not meat or drink but righteousness and peace in the Holy Ghost.

We are encouraged to pray for the harvest and that souls would be added to the kingdom. Jesus said suffer the little children to come unto me, forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of heaven.

In the Lord's prayer, Jesus said thy Kingdom come and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Many years ago when my daughter was barely talking and still crawling I had been struggling to raise her as a single parent.

After I had rededicated my life to the Lord I learned early on that there was no way I was going to make it without the Lord in my life. I had made a habit on praying each day early in the morning at again at noon.

My young daughter had been seeing this for a short time. I had just fed her and sent her to her room telling her to get in the bed. She went in the room, got a pillow from the bed, put it on the floor knelt down and began to sing, my soul loves Jesus repeating it several times and the crawled in the bed and went to sleep.

We can come boldly to our heavenly Father and to the throne of God, as boldly as my daughter did that day. I know that heaven rejoiced at the moment to hear the innocence of a little child pray with no thought, need or condition but coming before the father with child like faith. There was no doubt in her mind that God the Father did not hear her prayer that day and there should be no doubt in our hearts when we call on Father God in faith, saying Lord let your Kingdom come in me as it is in heaven, even so come Lord Jesus.
If you've enjoyed reading this post and listening to the podcast, then by all means join us on the Time2PUSH Prayerline Monday-Friday @ 6am PST by calling 559-726-1200 access code 523740

Now is the Time
What is Faith... it sounds like a noun but acts like a verb. Faith is an action word. I love what the scripture says about faith according to Hebrews 12, "now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen".

That alone lets you know that Faith is a right now word, present word, and it will work for whatever you need right now.

Now is the time, right now. So whatever you're going to do for God, family or even country for that matter, needs to be done right now with a sense of urgency.

Remember the old sage who said, don't put off for tomorrow what you could do today". How many life long dreams and goal been put off by that old familiar friend called procrastination?

With all his wisdom Solomon said there is no praise in the grave, we need to get in a hurry and be about our Father's business. Faith is right now!

This is the place, what place? The place that you're in right now is the exact place that God has you in because He's the one that prepared it from the beginning of the foundation of the world.

Jesus said, I will never leave you or forsake you, I am with you always." It's true that God has a time for everything, but we have to wait so that our time becomes synchronized with God's never ending, eternal time table. When we learn how to trust in the Lord and wait on his timing those things that we so easily fret about in life disappear and no longer trouble us.

We are Gods' people and God needs YOU. Whenever God got ready to do anything, he always looked for a man or woman who would hear his voice and obey him. All throughout scripture and even more so today, God is looking for somebody who will say yes to His will.

You may think the Lord can't use you because your life is so messed up, but I say for every reason or excuse you give or reason you think God can't use you, those are the very reasons that He will. God wants to take all the broken pieces of your life and mend them back together with His extraordinary love and all he wants from you is Faith. Now Faith!
If you've enjoyed reading this post and listening to the podcast, then by all means join us on the Time2PUSH Prayerline Monday-Friday @ 6am PST by calling 559-726-1200 access code 523740

Is Your Agape Sloppy?

I heard a profound message this week about love. It went on to ask, how do you know if someone is born-again or has really accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour? Because, as the old church mothers used to say, everybody talking about heaven ain't going. The answer to the question is love. But what is love? Everyone has their own definition of what it is and or what it's not for that matter.

However, there are three categories of love; Eros, Pheleo and Agape. Which one are you familar with? Eros or erotica comes from the sensual, fleshy unrenewed soul and manifest as lust. You can't build a marriage of even a friendship on this one.

Pheleo as in Phildelphia means brotherly love. But the Agape which is the love God has for us is not conditional or dependent of any quality that make you loveable. It's God's love, the love we read about in the book of Corinthians in the Bible.

John 13:34 says, "a new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."

The only real way to know of tell is someone is truly born-again or a disciple of Christ is by the love we have one to another, and that includes your enemies. Jesus laid his life down for his friends and the very ones who persecuted him; which were his enemies. We mjust do the same?

John 13:35 declares that by this shall men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.

You can't hate your neighbor who you see everyday and claim to love Jesus whom you've never seen. That's called sloppy agape. Jesus told the church in Ephesus in the book of Revelations, I have this against you, you have left your first love. You don't fall in or out of love, we simply leave it or walk away.

You need to repent and do your first works over. When the fervent love is gone from any relationship (especially a spouse) you know it because the relationship is strained and stiff and we do what we have to just to get by.

God's love is perfect. If your agape is sloppy here are a few things you can do to fix it:

1. Take time to listen to yourself, I mean really listen to your self-talk. You can gauge where you are by what you think and how you talk to yourself.

2. Watch your tone. You can say the right thing, but use the wrong tone.

3. What Spirit are you speaking in? Having the right spirit and the right tone will change your talk.

Is it God's love or yours? If you lose it because you don't like something then it's not God's it's yours. Agape love should work at home in practical ways with your family and children.
If you've enjoyed reading this post and listening to the podcast, then by all means join us on the Time2PUSH Prayerline Monday-Friday @ 6am PST by calling 559-726-1200 access code 523740

What it means to PUSH

I heard a profound message this week about love.

The only real way to know of tell is someone is truly born-again or a disciple of Christ is the love you have for one another, and that includes your enemies. Remember Jesus laid his life down for his friends and the very ones who persecuted him; which were his enemies. Can you do the same?

John 13:35 declares that by this shall men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.

You can't hate your neighbor who you see everyday and claim to love Jesus whom you've never seen. That's called sloppy agape. Jesus told the church in Ephesus in the book of Revelations, I have this against you, you have left your first love. You don't fall in or out of love, we simply leave it or walk away.

You need to repent and do your first works over. When the fervent love is gone from any relationship (especially a spouse) you know it because the relationship is strained and stiff and we do what we have to just to get by.
If you've enjoyed reading this post and listening to the podcast, then by all means join us on the Time2PUSH Prayerline Monday-Friday @ 6am PST by calling 559-726-1200 access code 523740
