You can now follow me on Wordpress. I'm still considering pet, writing under petpisces.
If you follow me here, please click the link and follow me there or add the address to your reader list through manage settings.

As I post, I may try to import to Blogger for a while as I transition, but I'm not promising :)

Why the move?

Wordpress actually uses the labels/ tags and connects readers to your blog.
There's a reblog option
There's an option to find blogs to read based on your interests.

On top of all that, I like the look of Wordpress; I could never find a template that satified me here.

I will keep my blogger account and continue to follow my favorite blogs!

If you are interested in how I imported all of my posts, along with their comments because you are interested in moving to Wordpress (hint, hint), let me know. It was COMPLETELY easy!!!

Emotions of a Hunter

If you are a girl, looking for a guy and require an emotional attachment from him, then please don't choose a guy who hunts. Just a wild speculation but I'm confident I'm on to something here.

Please follow my thought.

I base this consideration on my personal experience and now looking back into many years of relationships. One thing in common with the men who've seemed less emotionally attached are the men who've hunted.

What's the deal with a hunter? I'll tell you the deal.

Hunters learn at an early age by instruction of an elder to suck it up. Naturally, kids love animals but to hunt you have to bury that love, the empathetic love down deep in the back of the heart.

Why?

Well, it is one thing to be able to look into the eye of a deer through a scope of a rifle and pull the trigger, 50-100 yards away. If the gunman looks too long or hesitates in any way, he will not shoot. He's looked too long and an emotional attachment has spoken and won the hunter's heart. In order to be a successful shooter, you must spot, set your sites and shoot without hesitation.

That is the first part, there's another.

The next part is the hard part, the true test to the hunter's heart.

The hunter must confront the dead animal. He loads the animal onto his truck bed and then transports it to the skinning location. He hangs it by it's rear end. He cuts its throat and drains the blood from the animal. He uses a knife and skins the animal, pulling every piece of skin off its body, exposing the underneath muscle, ligaments and bones and even more blood. He proceeds to cut the animal into bits for consumption. He'll even remove the head and save it as a trophy.

This isn't a natural, easy task. Any boy learning to hunt had to learn how to bury the emotion that makes you sick to read about the process.

Mentally, put yourself at the side of the hunter and take the knife from his hands to do this task on your own, or mentally, stand by his side and watch as the hunter does it.

Think about your ability to hunt in the way I've described and compare it to the emotions of love for your spouse/partner.

As I compare my experiences with the hunter I've described and the emotional attachment received from past boyfriends, it becomes clear to me why they can seem emotionally disconnected, they're rough in the heart and calloused seeming.

I believe when the child learning to hunt buried the emotional attachment to animals, he learned to bury it in every way; he hardened his heart.

This doesn't mean the hunter doesn't love or that he won't love but I do believe the emotional nurturing from him will be lacking. He will not cry when you break up with him, he's learned how to be hardened to hurt.

"Always" is a word we should separate ourselves from as it could be but a curse to the future but I always find myself at the same crossroads, philosophizing my purpose, life and how love fits into the whole scheme.

From my prospective, one must forfeit his destiny to belong with another in form of ever lasting love. My mind, body and spirit are so intermingled with reason, logic, point of view, love and creativity that I find it impossible to change from what drives me in all directions to a standard household, chore-bound wife.

Don't get me wrong; I have a thing about the fifties' housewife and her honorable adoration for home, husband and family so I feel like a rebellious hippy to be a 34 year old single mother who blogs her wild mind ramblings, attempting to figure out the world on her own, one subject at a time.

Is there truly a counterpart for someone who compliments the oddities I posses or am I forever to search and settle for episodes or people who mesh short term?

I am in love with the idea of love but disappointment and loneliness fit like it's my true destination.
Don't read me wrong, I'm not depressed; I am just pondering my imagination and somehow unlimited supply of questions.

I watched another movie tonight. I blame it for this post. Oh yeah... movies have a way of stirring up my brain dust. Tonight's movie is titled The River Why.

Life, A Chance to Observe

I, over the last thirty four years have observed, examined many facets of this life with the perspective of the eyes and mind that were bestowed to me upon my arrival. I became attached to this form and to this world and experiences and causes and solutions. There is a magnificent force about being here that love and attachment are hard to resist.

We are but aliens visiting this dimension, after all and through our journey we have each experienced all emotions previously warned by those who have proceeded us.

I, like most of my other counterparts have become of this world and it is so great, this attachment to flesh, that we fail to recall that we were loaned these fleshy vehicles for the tour.

With this life comes loss of memory whence we came. We speculate with adoration who we were before and what will become once we leave. To be here is the gift; the present and to write is to record our journey; read to learn others'.

This consideration came while watching Meet Joe Black last night. I've seen the movie many years ago and chose it as a late night flick. I urge you to watch this movie (again if it's been a while since your viewing) and take on the perspective of Joe. He's in body form. Unattached to the world. Everything is new in experience and how quickly we can become attached to this world through love, a magnet.

I have a thing for movies that provokes such considerations. Don't waste your time here. Don't be attached to it. Navigate it with purpose. Record. Leave.

Read my other Life Considerations. Indulge.

Until next thought- Happy trails!

Nora's list was inspiring because I had not thought about what I would miss when I leave this life; I tend to miss what leaves my life and I had not pondered what I would not miss.

The view in my pod in which I sit at this time is obstructed by white cloth panels so my perspective and accuracy will be obstructed, too.

What I will not miss

Travel time. I imagine thought and experience will be spontanteous.

Failed communication. I am not effective in conveying what I really mean. My new world will be all about mind reading and intuitive understanding.

Heart break.

Cleaning house, though the times I turn on the music and get busy let me think it's not so bad.

Cutting down trees. These pictures touched my soul

Weeds in the garden

Humidity and extreme heat.

Dispising getting wet in the rain. I imagine it to be delectable.

Being inable, financially.

Waiting for replies

Being ignored

Work

Bills

Feeling lonely

Wearing shoes

Child abuse

Animal cruelty

War

What I will miss

My children, Clay and Ava

Clay's hilarious sense of surprise and intelligence

Ava's tenderness, innocence and lovingness

Having my hair played with

Feeling my back rubbed

Watching my dogs play in the yard

Karen Surratt

Getting wet in the rain. I'll be angry for never appreciating it

Writing

Tasting great food

The feeling of sex and experiencing oneness with my love.

Being a teen

Being a mother

My physical body because I'm so connected to it at this time, it's proof I'm me.

The coast

The idea of being at the coast

West Virginia and Kentucky and home

Having coffee and smoking

That feeling when the house is clean

Acting silly and being a big goofball

Learning

Reading Emerson

Religion is aimed to keep you from thinking. Do you know why? Because thinkers ask questions and creates doubt.

Thinking makes you smarter.
Today I sit, thinking about this nation
About legalized discrimination.
How the bible for Christians is absolute truth
But only when they want to control what you do.
Condemnation in our nation
That was founded to be free
No "ifs, and or buts" were in our decree
Until now, in this day we vote to include
Or remove
People who majority feels are entitled to.
But no law was lay to exclude these right. Right it was until the righteous give fight.
I say cast out the righteous for he thinks hes above,
The self elected judge but holy for none.
Poor depiction of what I thought a Christian would be
A fool was I to think his blessings are free.
It is embarrassing that this state is closely watched. I fear majority will publicly disown many of its citizens, the many who are human, just like us. Condemned, cast out, and spit on. A big fat "fuck you" from the prejudice, the proud and the Christian.

Interesting

According to a new study, The Thinker's reflective pose (left) promotes religious disbelief, while other poses do not.

Credit: Source: Wikimedia

The foundation of our beliefs is due to the influences at a very early age when we relied on direction for survival which was the same time we learned the red burner was hot. This is imprinting. The child who accepts the burner is hot by being told is more intuitive and less analytic than the child who is determined to find out on his own.

I speculate that the child who never questions or expresses analytical thinking patterns are more acceptable to "doing as told" and "believing as taught." He is prone to side with majority and less likely to research for himself. He is more likely to believe media. He is also probably the more well behaved child, causing less conflict and disruption in the household.

As the adult, he would be good in a setting where this type of rote behavior is desirable- <strike>in a field, fenced in with a caretaker present</strike> in a job performing a task for sake of duty whose ideas are never considered. He often joins a church that teaches the law and how to judge others by the law but learns to ignore his wrongs for he is saved.

So what you have is a box, the size of the United States of America, filled with these people telling other people how to live, how to believe and how he isn't favored by God.

A recent study was performed to target the thinking styles to determine the probability of being a 'believer' based on such. The study leans in the direction where analytical thinking patterns belong more to the less religious where the more intuitive seemed more religious.

The study wasn't 100% conclusive and only offered speculatory findings but I feel the study itself offers a window for further exploration.

It would be interesting to follow a study group of children like I described above because of course, this post is merely my opinion and an analytic viewpoint, but I guess you're aware of that.

I would like to play ping pong with this idea. Derek, I know you'll challenge me and induce more thought...

You were just dropped off on Earth for the first time ever.

What do you do for food?

If we looked to the very beginning of us, could we learn how to live again?

What attributes do we have to help us?

Our senses- Sight, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting.

Our upright design

The way we move.

So we're dropped off and are hungry so what do we eat?

Best to start looking around the land, smelling aromas and tasting samples.

I'm pretty sure this is the way we are suppose to eat. From the land.

At some point, I suppose vegetation died off (seasonally) and we started attacking animals to eat.

Wonder what the first kill tasted like? When did man learn to cook it rather than to eat it raw?

Perhaps the rivers went dry and we sought after cow and goat milk.

Today, we eat concoctions of who knows what and are dying of so many diseases.

Of course meats and dairy are sources of nutrients, because animals eat nutritiously.

Notice the animals we eat are vegetarians?

If cows ran out of vegetation and humans to feed them, would they eat each other?

What started our meat-eating behavior?

What ailments could we avoid if we stopped eating manufactured food substances and meat?

Just a thought. Hope it encourages you to think.

"Act like you have some sense" -My daddy always told me...

but I say "live like you have your senses."

UPDATE

After discussing this thought with a friend of mine, I accepted another viewpoint...

"Sure we ate vegetation, but man got tired of eating grass all the time and saw a two thousand pound animal on tooth picks and wasn't fast enough to get away so man stripped it of every bit of goodness like grand theft auto and was happy then he learned he could raise it and sell it. Man lives longer today than ever before, sure we get cancer diabetes and whatnot but we were put here to enjoy all the goodness of the earth and to be happy."

I find it extremely upsetting to see so much christianism in politics.

First, it was the accusations that Barack Obama was not a Christian. Apparently, he had joined the church over 20 years ago because he was secretly a Muslim from Kenya plotting to take over America and I remember some older church goers speculate his being the anti-christ- WTF!

The Christian's are at it again. The right wing race for nomination is now "who's the most Christian." In my understanding, the nominee may win the ticket if he can prove to be the <strike>biggest fuckbag</strike> most extreme right side of the right wing idiots to prove he's conservative and worthy of running our country the "christian way."

Today's "CHRISTIAN" is nothing but a government, just as it was before Jesus came around; they aren't christian, aka Christ Followers.

What is the point in calling your self Christian, aka a Christ follower by choosing to govern by the Bible?

The most IMPORTANT thing about the bible is found in the gospels. Its the message of Jesus! Did Jesus ever one tell people how to govern (like Moses)??

The gospels doesn't adhere to the old law. Jesus taught you can live within law, but you will not be at peace in your heart if your mind and heart isn't good (He's not much different that the Buddha).

Jesus BASHED THE CHURCH!

He taught to mind your fucking business and stop the hypocrisy!

As soon as he died, they started up the church again but in his memory and called him a God, a Saviour.

Jesus would be disappointed in what happened since his death, in his honor law and bigotry was resurrected.

A publicly traded company works like this:

Company makes a bet on how well they'll do in sales in a projected time.

The public sees that bet and invests based on the support. The support will contain an action plan on how they elect to carry out the plan. If the company succeeds within a margin, the company is "a horse worth betting on", or on Wall Street, it's the company you buy stock in.

The horse runs four races per year. If it doesn't do as well as he aimed, the horse gets beaten and the jockey gets fired.

As time passes, the amount of time spent remembering the dead as living lessens because time separates the closeness and impact the person had on our lives; other things begin to fill the space in our lives they once resided.

Upon a date that triggers "missing" the deceased, sadness or depression is experienced. Depression is in a sense "personality and mood changes as the person relives a the experience of having the deceased alive, as the person relives the moment of losing that person and the self induced suffering of bearing going on without them.

This is natural.
This process may last a day, it may last a week and may last for months. There is no set time on the process you go through while grieving.

It just occurred to me that these depressions are like visiting the dead.
And during depression, we do.

There are two existences.
The dead and the living.
While visiting one the other is ignored.

You leave the living while visiting the dead. But the choice to do so is the right of the person. You choose with whom you interact and with who you cherish and to whom you give your thought.

Ever wondered why people are recluse at times? Perhaps they have chosen to visit the dead.

And that is fine. If you know for certain they are depressed and it's seemingly out of the norm, step aside and don't force yourself on that person. Their heart, mind and soul is somewhere else for the time and that should be respected. Don't intrude and ask questions. Just understand.

On the other hand they may want to talk. Your job is to listen. That's it. Just listen.

It'll pass, they'll be back to normal when the time is right for them.

If you're in depression now, it'll pass. Visit what you need to visit and then come back to the living. You are free to be sad at anytime. Don't let anyone take it from you.

Should life merely be energy, it is possible to formulate our connection to other life but not without considering that individuals express different energy that mesh with our own. These effects are accepted to be positive or negative as these energies have been identified by others prior to my consideration. There also is a neutral.

Calculated energy can only be measured by the effect exhibited through behavior. Our energy thrives on positive energy but the negative is just as prudent. Mathematically, the amount of positive energy needed to overcome a negative is substantial and evident through mood, visible upon the pivot in pleasures after depression.

It is interesting how my consideration remind me of religious basics which personify these energies and are worshipped and feared. How love and hate are meaningful and how virtues of pleasure or pain have been regarded as final destinations when they are constant experiences in life.

Irony and metaphors create widespread religion by fear. Fear is but a negative emotion constructed from negative energy with promise of a positive virtue. A religion is but a lie, considering the fundamental basis of life.

Life Considered

When life is considered, all life is similar by many common characteristics that is seen by our eye and understanding.

What is life? Life is that which is not dead; which is not rotted. Life has a beginning and an end, a birth and a death. In every form of life, energy and movement are found.

The movement and fusion of hydrogen and oxygen form water. The movement and fusion of mineral form rock, the movement of water to self sustaining seed form root and movement and fusion of sperm and egg form creature. Energy is present in movement, in fusion, in creation.

Energy is defined to be the strength and vitality required for sustained physical or mental activity. Would it be bold to suggest the wind itself is alive for energy is expressed in its purest form?

Life is life is life.

Life is multiplied to itself and death is the division from.

Death Considered

With a broken heart comes grief. With grief comes pain and fear and loneliness and lowliness. A broken heart is caused by death.

Death is the permanent never to see, hear, touch, or smell again. The death of life, death of a relationship- destruction of common ground that caused your lives to be intertwined and the death of success, whether it be before or after achievement.

Death leaves the living in suffering with remembrance, with wrong decisions made, with blame, with arms not ready to be empty, with dreams undreamed, with plotted perfection to be had if another encounter were obtainable.

The living is left with uncounted ways of understanding the death but none to bring it back to life.

To the human death, a resurrection with uncause of death. To the death of a relationship, the impossible erasing of disagreement, erasing the emotion experienced, resurrection of the pre-end. The death of success, undo giving up.

Nothing is to be resurrected but the emotion surrounding the death. The emotion is everlasting; it is the aftertaste. The emotion surrounding death is the acid in the pit of the stomach that makes it way into the esophagus and eventually the mouth, an unpleasant aftertaste with pain.

Life is built with the need of attachment but not prepared for the separation. Life thrives on life and wilts without it.

Why are we so emotive?

"No matter how loud you shout and cry, they don't hear you anymore."

During childhood, we punish our children for doing what we teach them to be wrong. But as I am considering parenting, I am coming to understand that this method of raising [soon to be] adults; we must not rely on punishment alone to grow adults.

To grow adults, we must encourage and assist the child in decision making, and how to make them correctly.

Teach them consequences and let the consequences (punishments) replicate what the child will face as an adult. Spanking, whipping, hitting the child in any way doesn't teach them anything but stronghand. Taking something away from them for sake of payback is useless as well. For example, if the child gets in trouble for arguing/ fighting with another student, taking away his computer is not appropriate.

If a parent's role is government and control only, the child will set out to break the rules and resent you as a parent and a pattern of conflict will consume the household.

Everything you teach your child, he'll remember for life, just like your teaching him to ride a bike.

Focus on teaching. Guidance. Support. Acceptance.
Read children and the conformity circle- he'll step out of your circle to build his own-

Teenagers are interesting- I note as I compare my 14 year old with who he is now to he used to be just a few years ago. He has become his own thinking personality, his views are expanding, negotiations on fairness have elaborated and he's adamant on being who he wants to be.

Puberty births a whole new life. Before puberty, children do as told and accept others for how they are- loosely. A child at walking and talking age begin to explore- but they don't know boundaries, they must be learned and they learn through trial and error. The child will often test these boundaries to determine if the boundary is flexible. This is learning. Every thing a child tests builds his foundation.

Children, in general move about the social norms of the parents' standards whether or not the standards are liked.

At the age of puberty, they focus on boundaries again.

Imagine yourself standing in the center of a large circle. The circle drawn in permanent marker and cannot be changed. The circle represents law and other social standards. Standing in the center means you dont cross the lines, you dont break the laws, you conform to the boundaries.

During puberty age, a teen may begin to test laws and standards to determine whether or not they are flexible. He has also noticed that everyone's standard circle is different. He is motivated to discover or build his own circle and may choose to experiment other circles. A parent may constantly try to pull him to stay in the circle or to force them to conform to the their liking but the teen must be valued for his newly growing self.

I, as a mother, respect that. I know parents who will not allow their boys to grow their hair, for example. I see no point in forcing an appearance on my child. He knows that when he starts working that his employer may require short hair but until then, he is building his "circle."

Healthy and successful parenting comes through guidance and support, not punishment and condemnation.

A parent's role is educating not control. The child must eventually become his own adult self.
We're suppose to understand. And care.

There's no freaking way we spend $500k on cream and sugar.

And we don't- what they've done is sent an official notice for the disgruntled people (EVERY COFFEE DRINKER HERE) and in order to have us say "oh wow, that's a lot" they put the dollar amount $500,000 per year. I'd place a bet that daily landscaping crew that maintains our 11 acre campus costs more that cream and sugar and they told us about them and so it could add up to $500k.

If the note was just about cream and sugar- I imagine it may cost $1 maybe $2k?

In case you missed it- we lost half and halfs and some other items went missing around the office and my speculations were vomited here: How Companies Save Money It's not much different than the actual!

Here's the OFFICIAL NOTICE:
-----
We recently received some feedback from employees about some changes in the way we service our U.S. corporate offices, and we wanted to let all employees know what is changing and why.

In support of company-wide expense reduction efforts, <strike>company name</strike> has implemented some changes that will save more than $500,000 each year. Some of them are more visible than others, but all changes are being done to improve efficiency and reduce costs:

Break room coffee service: We will continue to provide regular and decaffeinated coffee, sugar, powdered creamer and plastic utensils. All other creamers, sweeteners and beverages will be eliminated as stock runs out.

Restrooms: To reduce paper waste and expenses, we recently eliminated folded paper towels.

Landscaping: We will reduce our landscaping maintenance services, including seasonal plantings and improvement projects.

Housekeeping: We will reduce the frequency of carpet cleaning, window cleaning and exterior pressure washing.

Personnel moves: In an effort to reduce costs, all office moves must now be approved by the departmental vice president and the vice president, worldwide real estate.

Energy management: We will continue to focus on energy management by optimizing our HVAC systems and reducing after-hours/weekend usage.

Miscellaneous: We will eliminate our interior plant maintenance service, and reduce painting and other non-essential maintenance items.

Small changes can add up to big savings. Thank you for your understanding and support as we look for ways to Spend Less, while still providing a safe, well-maintained and productive office environment for employees and visitors.
I was sitting on the balcony, four stories up which overlooks the front parking lot at work.

Today, the sun is warm and makes its vitamin offering hard to deny.

Up until this moment, I was involved in reading and I was very content. That's when a noise draws my attention down to the parking lot, down to a lady who is proudly returning to work with a white paper bag that swings about because of her unsteady stride.

The sound was like gift opening time during the holidays and all that is missing is laughter. This was no time for laughter and laughter knew it.

We never know the effect we have on others. We seem to only experience our piece.

This lady annoyed me by her noise-making and in my mind, she is ignorant and disrespectful for pulling my attention from Kindle and demanding I watch her walk and she was clueless of her power.

The Religious Series- Part I- Childhood

As I recall, my parents did not infect my mind with any religious influence, ever.

When I was about 9, Vacation Bible School seemed super fun- since all the kids were doing it. There was a Christian Flag and an allegiance to be pledged.. Stuff to memorize. Church was a club... "ooooh," I thought, "I want to be in a club!!!"

So, I started going to church (Baptist Church) with the old lady next door, Ms Martin. Mama bought me a dress and I'm pretty sure I wore the same one every time I went to church. (I bet the congregation thought "oh, that poor girl who comes with Ms Martin...")

I was concerned about being a church member: How did I get to be one... and should I get baptised... this church had a pool behind the alter... sometimes I'd sneak to look at it. I associated it with funerals so I didn't want to get baptized...
For then on, I told people I was a Baptist-- for the next 10 years! I probably went a hand full of time and attend two or three summer camps- I guess that's all it takes.

We moved when I was eleven and after making friends with my neighbor, Jennifer- I went to church with her a lot. They were Pentecostal Holiness.

Don't know much about the preaching of either churches- during my childhood years. All I can say is that religion has always had my attention and NO ONE could tell me who God's mama was or who made him.

That seemed to be the mystery that stumped me and no one cared.
