The Grammy’s is always full of surprises and this year’s ceremony was no different. Katy Perry’s performance left many people wondering if her performance was a not so subtle jab at her soon-to-be ex-husband Russell Perry.

Perry appeared on stage in a spacey gold, silver and black bodysuit and sang a newer song “Part of Me”, which was apparently aimed at Brand, instead of picking one of her well-known hits. With lyrics like, “You chewed me up and spit me out/Like I was poison/ You took my light, you drained me down… You ripped me off, your love was cheap,” it is hard not to think this song was about Brand.

Brand hit Perry with a divorce announcement early in January. He officially filed for divorced last week, which means the divorce will be final by the end of June. And though the couple didn’t get the guidance of a divorce attorney to write up a pre-nuptial agreement Brand is not trying to get hold of Perry’s fortune.

Whitney Houston Body Released By Coroner, Funeral Plans Underway

The Los Angeles County Coroner cleared Whitney Houston’s body for release Monday after completing an autopsy and toxicology tests. Funeral plans are reportedly already underway in the singer’s birthplace of Newark, New Jersey. Whigham Funeral Home is said to be handling the arrangements. Sources say the funeral is scheduled for the end of this week.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says it is unclear when Houston’s body will be transported to the funeral home. "The family is making arrangements. I don't know when the family is going to have her body picked up. But they are making arrangements and sometimes it takes a couple days,” he said.

Houston, 48, was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday afternoon. Authorities reportedly believe Houston died from a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol. An official cause of death will not be determined until toxicology tests are completed.

The six time Grammy winner leaves behind ex-husband Bobby Brown and their 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina. Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized twice over the weekend after her mother’s death. Family members say she was grief stricken and suffering from severe anxiety and stress. Brown arrived in L.A. Sunday night to be with her. “Obviously, the death of her mother is affecting her, however, we will get through this tragedy as a family. Again, I ask for privacy during this time,” Brown said in a statement.

Elton John dedicated a song to the late Whitney Houston during his Million Dollar Piano show at Caesars Palace in Vegas last night. "She could sing gospel, she could sing, "I Will Always Love You," and make you cry, and she was the most beautiful woman I think I've ever seen," he said. "She was incredible. So, my dearest, gorgeous, lovely angel, we want to do this song for you. Thank you for giving us your talent and one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard in my life."

The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) Announces Grant Awards: Over $3.2 Million in Awards Address the Needs of Under-served Populations

The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) today announced over $3.2 million in new grants that will further its mission to assist the most marginalized populations vulnerable to HIV infection. These new awards brought EJAF's final total grant-making commitments for calendar 2011 to a record $8,316,871, with disbursements totaling $7,006,871 last year.These grants represent EJAF's continuing commitment to fund demographics and geographic regions that are seriously impacted by HIV/AIDS and under-served by traditional funders. Grant expenditures totaling $3,221,622 were awarded for 19 new and 29 renewal grants, including:

health services for Black women, one of the highest HIV-impacted populations in this country;

innovative programs focused on the health and rights of gay and bisexual men throughout the U.S.;

programs designed to help people with HIV who are leaving prison to access and stay on treatment and maintain their health as they reintegrate into society;

small community grants supporting services for gay men throughout Latin America;

clinical and mental health services for vulnerable populations in the Caribbean; and

additional funding totaling $1.6 million over two years to support over 50 community organizations providing needle exchange and harm reduction services for injection drug users.

"Through the efforts of hundreds of privately-funded syringe access programs, HIV incidence due to injection drug use in the U.S. has declined from 25% of all infections in 2000 to 9% today," said Executive Director Scott Campbell. "Scaled-up syringe access programming could bring injection-related HIV infections down to zero. Given Congress' unfortunate reinstatement of the ban on the use of federal funding for syringe exchange programs, EJAF's increased investments as one of the top three funders in this field are particularly crucial.""For twenty years, EJAF has remained consistent in our mission, even as we've increased the scope and reach of our grant-making," added Chairman David Furnish. "Our most recent grants continue this historic focus, dedicating critical funding to the most urgent and under-resourced aspects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic."

Adele and Foo Fighters were the big winners at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles taking home 11 awards between them.
The British singer made her triumphant live public return following throat surgery and picked up six awards at the ceremony, including Song, Record and Album of the Year. Her peers also gave her a lengthy welcome-back standing ovation after she hit the high notes again on her 2011 smash-hitRolling in the Deep.
The occasion proved a little too much for the singer when she stepped up to accept her sixth award of the night for Album of the Year - sobbing, she joked, "I just first of all wanna say, 'Mum, girl did good!'"
She had the crowd in hysterics a minute later as she thanked her record company executives, breaking off to say, "Oh, I got a bit of snot."
And Foo Fighters grabbed the night's rock honors and scored two of the performance highlights under a marquee outside the Staples Center - one a collaboration with electronic star DeadMau5.
Absent Kanye West was also a big winner, picking up four trophies for his song All of the Lights, album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and his Otis collaboration with Jay-Z, while Skrillex was a triple winner.
The double winners included Cee Lo Green, gospel star Kirk Franklin, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Taylor Swift and Tony Bennett.
Talking points and highlights of the night included Rihanna's pumped-up rendition of We Found Love and Coldplay's songParadise - before a huge day-glo backdrop. Frontman Chris Martin battled through the song, fighting the bad cold that has prompted the band to scrap upcoming Australian tour dates.
Bruce Springsteen kicked the evening off with a stirring rendition of uplifting new song We Take Care of Our Own and other major performance highlights included Katy Perry's first TV appearance since her December 2011 marriage split, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Sir Paul McCartney, who was given a standing ovation for his performance of new romantic standard My Valentine from his new album Kisses on the Bottom. McCartney also closed the show with a rocking, guitar-heavy hits medley that featured Joe Walsh, Dave Grohl and Springsteen.
Perhaps the night's most talked about performance was from Nicki Minaj as she debuted a new alter-ego, called Roman, during a strange performance art piece inspired by horror film The Exorcist. Minaj appeared to levitate as dancers dressed as monks and a man pretending to be a bishop watched on.
But the 2012 Grammys will be remembered for its all-star tributes - to Etta James, 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Glen Campbell, the Beach Boys, who kicked off their 50th anniversary celebrations with a rendition of summer anthem Good Vibrations at the ceremony, and Whitney Houston, who passed away in a Los Angeles hotel on the eve of music's big night.
Host LL Cool J began the show with a prayer for Houston before introducing a clip of her performing I Will Always Love Youat the 1994 Grammys. And Jennifer Hudson stunned the Grammy audience with a emotional rendition of the same song as part of the In Memoriam segment of the show.
Reports suggested the Dreamgirls star had struggled with the tribute during last-minute rehearsals earlier in the day but she held it together for the pitch-perfect cover.
The night could easily have become a sombre one as stars reflected on Houston's life and legacy, but winners and performers alike appeared to want to make the celebration just that, and soul legend Diana Ross, a 2012 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award honoree, summed up the ceremony best as she stepped up to present the Best Album honor to Adele at the end of the event.
She said, "I am so excited to be here in this fantasic energy. We are having so much fun."

On an evening overshadowed by the shocking death of a singer who was once one of pop music’s most radiant young stars, the pop stratosphere’s latest bright light, 23-year-old British R&B-soul singer Adele, was lauded with Grammy Awards for cathartic music she channeled out of her own pain and despair.

Adele delivered the biggest single and album of 2011 with “21,” her sophomore outing that explored various facets of a painful romantic breakup, and she scored the year’s biggest single, “Rolling in the Deep,” in which the singer reaches to the depths of heartache to find solace and hope.

Those qualities ultimately eluded Whitney Houston, who died Saturday at age 48 on the eve of the Grammy show, after struggling for more than two decades with drug abuse and other issues. Whitney Houston's Death: Details Emerge

The day after pop super diva Whitney Houston was found dead in a Beverly Hills hotel room, details are beginning to emerge about what may have contributed to her sudden death.

While the cause of death remains a mystery, police tell People that "at this time, there's no obvious evidence of foul play."

Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen said Saturday "someone in her entourage found her unresponsive in her room. ... Our detectives are still in the room, and her body is still here as well. I can confirm that Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. this afternoon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills Fire, and police responded minutes later."

Police note that an investigation is ongoing. TMZ reports that while no illegal drugs were in her hotel room, prescription drugs were found. Sources add that she may have drowned in the bathtub, where her body was reportedly discovered.

Houston's body had been removed from the tub when authorities arrived, so an autopsy will have to be performed to determine the cause of her death. TMZ added that she had reportedly been taking Xanax at the time. Houston had been spotted drinking the night before at a pre-Grammy party, and in combination with the prescription drug, it could have led to her falling asleep in the tub and drowning.

, who ruled as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Houston's publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.

News of Houston's death came on the eve of music's biggest night — the Grammy Awards. It's a showcase where she once reigned, and her death was sure to case a heavy pall on Sunday's ceremony. Houston's longtime mentor Clive Davis was to hold his annual concert and dinner Saturday; it was unclear if it was going to go forward.

Singer Sinead O'Connor Despises Being Called 'Crazy'

Sinead O'Connor is calling for sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder to be treated with kindness, because referring to them as "crazy" is "a term of abuse."

The Nothing Compares 2 U hitmaker, who claims to have been a victim of child abuse, was diagnosed with the condition last year after doctors previously told her she was bipolar.

O'Connor, who split from new husband Barry Herridge just two weeks after their December wedding, has become known over the years for her offbeat behavior and she is often referred to in the press as "crazy" - a term she despises because her illness can't be helped.

She tells People magazine, "There's no drug treatment for PTSD. Sufferers get bashed because we're 'crazy', but crazy is a term of abuse. We need to be compassionate."

But the singer, who recently underwent hospital treatment for depression, insists she's managed to hide the worst of her troubles from her two youngest kids, aged eight and five.

She says, "I've been good about keeping it together at home. But at work, I was falling apart. That's why I went to a hospital in January, so they (her children) wouldn't be exposed. My older kids see the papers, they know I've had difficulty with depression and aren't frightened by it."

O'Connor recently reconciled with Herridge to give their on/off marriage another go.

Stars Line Up For Paul McCartney Tribute

Brian Wilson, Billy Joel, and B.B. King are hitting the record studio to record Sir Paul McCartney's greatest hits for a new album.

Willie Nelson, KISS, Alice Cooper, Jeff Lynne and The Cure will also cover tracks from McCartney's back catalogue, extending from his time in The Beatles, Wings and his solo career.

The as-yet-untitled collection will be released to coincide with the pop legend's 70th birthday in June, and a behind-the-scenes documentary is also being filmed during studio sessions.

Producer Ralph Sall, who is curating the album, tells The Hollywood Reporter that the Beatles icon loves the idea.

He says, "It was important that it be blessed by Paul... You can tell by the variety of participants that Paul's music is truly timeless. Whether you're eight or 80, everyone loves Paul McCartney."

Wanda Jackson, Steve Miller, Heart, Ronnie Spector and Corinne Bailey Rae have also signed up for the album.

Madonna's Stalker Back in Custody

A man convicted of stalking Madonna has been captured by California police following his escape from a mental health facility last week.

Robert Dewey Hoskins was sentenced to 10 years behind bars in 1996 after scaling a wall near the singer's home in Los Angeles and threatening to slit her throat.

He walked free in 2006 but he was arrested last July on vandalism charges and ordered to enroll in the Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk.

The 54-year-old prompted a nationwide manhunt earlier this month when he managed to slip out of the center unnoticed, but he is now back in police custody after being apprehended by local police officials on Friday, according to the Associated Press.

The psychiatric patient has also made similar threats against actress Halle Berry, whose recent request to move to France was reportedly sparked by Hoskins' escape.

Rep Says Rolling Stones Not Planning Olympic Shows

A representative for The Rolling Stones has shot down reports the rockers are set to headline a big show to celebrate the end of the London Olympics this summer.

An article in Friday's London Evening Standard newspaper suggests the Brown Sugar hitmakers are being lined up to top the bill at a Best of British concert in the city's Hyde Park, playing alongside soul star Adele and reunited Brit-pop band Blur.

The show is said to be part of a string of free events held in London to coincide with the 2012 games - but Bernard Doherty, a spokesman for the Stones, has dismissed the claims, insisting Mick Jagger and his bandmates have no plans to take part in any Olympic events.

He tells MusicWeek.com, "Contrary to a totally inaccurate report in the London Evening Standard today, The Rolling Stones wish to point out that they are not performing at any concerts tied to the 2012 Olympic Games in Hyde Park or The Olympic Park."

The Rolling Stones have yet to announce any live gigs for 2012 - the 50th anniversary of the legendary group's formation.

Madonna Calls MIA Halftime Gesture “A Teenager Thing To Do”

In a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest Friday, Madonna admitted she “wasn’t happy” with rapper M.I.A. flashing her middle finger during the Super Bowl halftime show. Madonna, 53, said the gesture wasn’t planned and seems “out of place” considering the energy on stage when they performed “Gimme All Your Luvin.'"

"I was really surprised. I didn't know anything about it. I wasn't happy about it,” Madonna told Seacrest.

"I understand it's punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it seemed negative,” she said.

Paul McCartney nabbed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday, the last of The Beatles quartet to receive the honor.

"Way back in history, in Liverpool when we were kids ... I would have never thought that the day would come when I would get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," he told the cheering crowd gathered to witness the unveiling.

McCartney, who has had a successful solo career since his Beatles days, received the recognition after his bandmates Ringo Starr, the late George Harrison and the late John Lennon all previously landed Hollywood stars.

The band itself even has a star on the Hollywood Boulevard strip, outside the Capitol Records building in downtown Los Angeles.

Dressed casually in jeans, a black jacket and his classic shades, the 69-year-old said Thursday he "couldn't have done it without three boys ... John, George and Ringo," and added thanks to his supportive family.

McCartney's new bride, third wife Nancy Shevell, and his son James, 34, were in attendance at the afternoon ceremony.

The English rocker was nominated to receive the star in 1993 but scheduling conflicts prevented him from attending until this year.

He is in Los Angeles in advance of his performance at the 54th annual Grammy Awards Sunday.

The pop superstar recently opened about her eating disorder at a conference in Los Angeles.

Jane Carrey’s American Idol dream came to an end this week after she delivered a mediocre performance in the Hollywood round of auditions. Jane, the daughter of actor Jim Carrey, was confident going into her performance, telling cameras her “expectations of this week are that I’ll stay here.”

Carrey’s nerves ended up ruining her rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Lookin’ Out My Backdoor,” and judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler did not put her through to the next round.

“I freaked out when I was there so I was really, really shaky. I know I can do way better than that and so I'm really disappointed in myself," Carrey admitted. "I talked to my dad and he was really comforting and he said, 'I've been said no to a bunch of times,' and it worked out well for him in the end so hopefully I have a shot."

Global pop superstar Katy Perry has announced that she will release a special edition of her double-platinum certified album Teenage Dream on March 27th, 2012. The first run of the release will feature a limited edition lenticular cover.

Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection includes all 12 tracks from the original version of Katy’s second album, including the singles “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” and “The One That Got Away,” which all peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart.

The couple have reportedly reached a divorce settlement, finalizing their split amicably despite not signing a pre-up when they married in October 2010.

However, Perry filed the documents in Los Angeles on Tuesday (February 7, 2012) and was only-too-happy to sign off with a smiley face. The singer jetted off to Hawaii with friends instead of talking through the split with Brand over Christmas, and even un-followed the British comedian on Twitter - sending a very clear message out to her fans. According to Californian law, Russell was actually entitled to half of his wife's estimated $80 million fortune, but decided against taking a single penny. All eyes will be on the comedian in Los Angeles tonight (February 9, 2012) where he is set to perform a comedy gig. Lady Gaga is ready to hit the road again in support of her latest album, "Born This Way."

The pop superstar has revealed her plans via a series of messages on her Twitter page; including the official tour poster, the new stage design and a promise to fans that they'll get the opportunity to go backstage and meet her after each show.

"The Born This Way Ball" will kick off in 2012 and run through 2013 and feature a medieval castle stage set piece with a catwalk surrounding the front part of the audience; much like U2's 'Ellipse' on their "Vertigo" tour; called the 'Monster Pit'. Fans who arrive early, wait all night and are "dressed to 'Ball'" will get entry to the Pit. Gaga's team, aka the 'Haus of Gaga', will choose fans from the area to go back stage and meet her after the show.

The best part? Unlike Madonna expecting fans to save their money all year and pay through the nose for tickets to her upcoming tour, Gaga explains that the Monster Pit is a General Admission area and die-hard fans won't have to break the bank to get in.

"Every night Haus of Gaga will choose fans from The Monster Pit to come back stage + meet me! These tickets are NOT more expensive," she Tweeted.

After Gaga's posts fans questioned her on what, exactly, "dressed to 'Ball'" means, to which she replied, "Reading your questions :) No dress code requirement. "Born This Way" means anything goes."

"The Born This Way Ball will perform 110 shows around the world. The opening dates are out today, with more announcements to ensue," she Tweeted earlier Wednesday.

Eccentric Actor Gary Busey Files For Bankruptcy

Quirky, some say crazy, actor Gary Busey, who has starred in over 70 films filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in a California court Tuesday, according to TMZ. Busey, 67, appeared on
Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump.

If a bankruptcy attorney suggests a Chapter 7 filing the indebted individual will have to
liquidate their assets to satisfy creditors. Many unsecured debts can be legally discharged; however student loans and property taxes must still be paid.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Busey listed $50,000 in assets with debts estimated to be $500,000 to $1 million. In the document Busey listed the entities he owes money to which includes the IRS, various lawyers, UCLA Medical Center, Wells Fargo, LA Waterworks Districts and
a storage company.

Busey told the celebrity gossip site “that he might owe money to woman named Carla Loeffler.” Busey was in Utah last May to attend the Tulsa Charity Fight Night event and Loeffler alleges that Busey attacked her in the Tulsa airport. She is reportedly listed among the debts Busey owes.

Madonna is reportedly not happy M.I.A. ruined her Super Bowl halftime performance. M.I.A. came under fire for flashing her middle finger to the cameras while performing “Give Me All Your Luvin’” with Madonna. NBC’s delay system failed to catch the gesture in enough time to blur it. Madonna is said to be furious M.I.A.’s slip up is stealing spotlight from her elaborate performance.

“Madonna wasn't impressed. She prides herself on professionalism. M.I.A. did nothing similar in rehearsals. Nobody knew she was going to pull this stunt,” an insider tells The Sun.

Russell Brand Files For Divorce But Doesn’t Want Katy's Money

British comedian Russell Brand officially filed for divorce from Katy Perry on Tuesday but sources told People magazine that he will not be asking for any of Katy’s money.

Brand and Perry were married in October of 2010. Rumors that the couple was splitting up began circulating in December of last year when the two spent Christmas apart. On December 30th Brand and Katie announced that they were seeking a divorce.

According to TMZ sources Brand and Perry did not have a divorce attorneydraft up a pre-nuptial
so he would be eligible to half of the couple’s community property. Forbes reported that Perry earned $20 between May 2010 and May 2011. But sources close to Brand said he will not ask for any of Perry’s fortune. He is happy to walk away from their marriage with his own earning which is significantly less.

The source said, “This is as amicable as it gets and Russell was a mensch (Yiddish word for a good man).”
