And then there are people like me, who are neither a decent cook nor can manage on frozen dinner. So what people like us do? Find someone to mooch on or learn how to cook.
I moved in my new place on May, 2009. My aunt gave me a huge stack of food which last me for about a week. Then came the time where I had two options... learn how to cook or starve... Being a foodie, starving was not an option. So I went to the kitchen to look for something that looked remotely easy to manage. No such luck... So I rang one of my friends and whined for one hour about the injustice of life that good cook are expensive and I am broke. So she gave me an idea. She said get those Mac & Cheese Dinners. They are easy to cook, just pop up a corner and put them in the Mic and it will do the rest. Well, that sounded easy. So with that heavy dose of optimism, off I went to get those amazing dinners from supermarket. I got four boxes of those frozen dinners in four different varieties and came home. The picture on top was so lovely that I was dying to dive into one. So I read the instructions and popped open one corner, put it in the mic. When the mic chimed I flew to the oven and opened my treat. After a few bites, I thought it kinda tasted like cardboard. So I put it back again for another minute. And when I took it out, one side was totally burnt and the rest looked like dead worms and I was so hungry by then that I took out my old reliable bread (store bought of course) and had a dinner of pb & j. So that was my first confrontation with my kitchen.
