Ahhh, The Sweet Smell of Manure Politics

Ahhhh, that stench in the air!! It’s more than O’Reilly’s arrogance; Hannity’s smugness, Limbaugh’s fantasy flights, and Palin’s illusory patriotism, family values, but displays real greed. The sweet smell of dastardly politics pervades TeaPublican offices nationwide carried along by equivocation and historical revision.

The public had much humor from the antics of 5-draft deferments, multi-bankrupt and thrice divorced Donald “Brain Cells Went South” Trump and of course, Sarah “American History Is A Slam Dunk” Palin’s version of Paul Revere and the US-North Korea alliance even our own government wasn’t aware of. Americans chuckle at these gaffes, but something more odious lurks beneath the humor. Palin groupies immediately flooded Wikipedia’s Paul Revere posting and attempted to change the page. Granted, Wikipedia is not completely accurate since postings can be made by anyone, but Palinnatics did this to prove the resigned Governor right. Wikipedia immediately locked down the Revere posting until more sanity reigned.

Historical revision is a key feature of TeaPublicans who shape their own reality to force feed Americans. Then neo-conservative talking heads, primarily Fox Network and of course, Limbaugh, extol the virtues of the “real” history as proclaimed by their favorite politician. A knowledge vacuum occurs which the right wing quickly moves into with pseudo-statements and many Americans accept since they know no better.

Limbaugh, for example, was recently confronted with a knowledgeable person on current economics. The Rushter stammered, stuttered and lost focus when confronted with actual facts. He quickly regained composure, cut off the caller off and ranted for a few minutes. This appears to be a typical TeaPublican tactic when actual truth rears its ugly head. Its a sad reality, but no worse than Gov. Rick Perry, Texas, using his influence to pressure public education to adapt a revised history for students. Features will include praising Sen. Joe McCarthy and omitting Thomas Jefferson completely. That appears to be the TeaPublican way!!

The recent Anthony Weiner episode posed another interesting dilemma. TeaPublicans immediately called for his head while conveniently forgetting TeaPublican Sen.. David Vitter's, a family values guy, escapade of consorting with prostitutes wearing a diaper. Vitter still holds office and what Weiner did was with consenting adults. O’Reilly, of course, leads the pack while diverting away from his own sexual harassment suit filed by a Fox Factor producer for some very nasty acts by O'Lielly. O’Reilly claims he was being shook down, but became strangely silent when tapes recorded by the producer suddenly appeared validating her claims. Moral of this writing is very clear: all public figures need to be fact checked immediately. TeaPublicans love to falsify data, use fear tactics and extol the illusory virtues of their ideology which changes daily. Why do this is a question you ask…..remember, according to “I know my American history” Palin, Paul Revere was warning the British and was an example of Second Amendment rights. Problem is, it was 1775 and the revolution hadn’t begun, the Constitution was non-existent and the future USA was still a British colony. Another statement aptly describes the TeaPublican Part: "the Republican party rides to political victory on the four horsemen of CALUMNY, FEAR, IGNORANCE and SMEAR!"

Santyana, famed historian, once said “those who condemn the past are doomed to repeat it. TeaPublicans need to be aware of this and the subsequent backlash as a resulting factor. Just ask Glenn Beck and Ann Coulter....fear mongers whose popularity has waned. The American people have finally had enough!

Tragic Shooting and The Rush To Absolve

A tragic Tucson shooting prompted conservatives to hurriedly scrub their websites of anti-Rep. Gabby Giffords comments. The right wing launched a massive communications effort to absolve any responsibility for creating the volatile national setting resulting in this tragedy. It was predictable to await citing of Ronald Reagan's statement stating the individual, not society, as the cause; individuals must accept responsibility for their actions. Ironically, Reagan is not the ideal role model for this since he broke the law numerous times as President and was not accountable for his actions. There was no mention of creating the fear and paranoia which fomented violence.

"For example, we're on Sarah Palin's targeted list, but the thing is, that the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have to realize that there are consequences to that action," Rep. Gabby Giffords said in an interview with MSNBC.

"Hang on, let me just tell you what I'm thinking. I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong? I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus Do band, and I've lost all sense of right and wrong now. I used to be able to say, "Yeah, I'd kill Michael Moore," and then I'd see the little band: What Would Jesus Do? And then I'd realize, Oh, you wouldn't kill Michael Moore. Or at least you wouldn't choke him to death." "And you know, well, I'm not sure. " Glenn Beck, before the Tucson massacre.

"We Christians would do well to adopt the Muslim strategy. When someone sues to remove the Ten Commandments from a public area, attack, beat and maybe even KILL them. “It’s ok. Christina Taylor Green was probably going to end up a left wing bleeding heart liberal anyway. Hey, as ‘they’ say, what would you do if you had the chance to kill Hitler as a kid? Exactly.” Tweeted to Palin's Twitter account. Ms. Green, 9 years old, was killed during the shooting.

"We should do to the LIBERALS what Hitler did to the JEWS. Give them a chance to renounce LIBERALISM; if they do not, send them to the ovens. Tweeted to Palin'sTwitter account.

Patriotic Americans don't have to become dangerous psychotics like liberals, but they could at least act like men. Why hasn't the former spokesman for the Taliban matriculating at Yale been beaten even more senseless than he already is? According to Hollywood, this nation is a cauldron of ethnic hatreds positively brimming with violent skinheads. Where are the skinheads when you need them? What does a girl have to do to get an angry, club- and torch-wielding mob on its feet? Ann Coulter, Columnist.

Fox and Friends host Brian Kilmeade declared, "Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims." (My note-this is bunk with particular attention to Timothy McVeigh, a Caucasian American Christian militia member and Terry Nichols, Caucasian American Christian militia member who detonated a massive bomb at the Murrah Federal Building, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, which killed 168 people. Both were anti-government extremists.)

1. I am appalled shocked and disgusted by the senseless attack upon Rep. Gabby Giffords and nineteen others on January 8, 2001 resulting in six deaths. The uncivil level of discourse emanating primarily from republicans, conservatives, neo-conservatives and their counterpart talking heads the past few years has caused great concern. Few are taking responsibility for the violent vitriolic utterances with the primary defense being the individual, not the hostile environment caused this sad episode. This writer is of the opinion those who stirred the pot created fear and paranoia thus manufacturing an explosive national milieu. When the conservative movement's True Believers are fed a steady diet of extraordinary warnings intended to induce a paranoiac, panicked fear -- They're Destroying America! They Want to End Your Liberty! Health Care Reform is the End of America! and simultaneously a steady diatribe of suggestions the solution is simply to do away with them. They are, indeed, responsible for their words and violent acts are unfortunately validated by individuals through careless vitriolic utterances from unprofessional politicians and talking heads. Those in charge needed to have toned down the volatile rhetoric before inevitable consequences occurred. This is not meant to imply a direct link to the shooter, but means emphatically conservatives, talking heads and others created the explosive environment violence thrives upon.

Just in the past two and a half years, here's the record of "isolated incidents" amassed so far (information has been added onto):

--July 2008: A gunman named Jim David Adkisson, agitated at how "liberals" are "destroying America," walks into a Unitarian Church and opens fire, killing two churchgoers and wounding four others. (My note-Adkisson's statement: "This was a symbolic killing. Who I wanted to kill was every Democrat in the Senate & House, the 100 people in Bernard Goldberg's book. I'd like to kill everyone in the mainstream media. But I know those people were inaccessible to me. I couldn't get to the generals & high ranking officers of the Marxist movement so I went after the foot soldiers, the chickenshit liberals that vote in these traitorous people. Someone had to get the ball rolling. I volunteered. I hope others do the same. It's the only way we can rid America of this cancerous pestilence." (Note..Bernard Goldberg is a regular on Fox News Bill O'Reilly's Factor program).

--October 2008: Two neo-Nazis are arrested in Tennessee in a plot to murder dozens of African-Americans, culminating in the assassination of President Obama.

--December 2008: A pair of "Patriot" movement radicals -the father-son team of Bruce and Joshua Turnidge, who wanted "to attack the political infrastructure" -- threaten a bank in Woodburn, Oregon, with a bomb in the hopes of extorting money that would end their financial difficulties, for which they blamed the government. Instead, the bomb goes off and kills two police officers. The men eventually are convicted and sentenced to death for the crime.

--December 2008: In Belfast, Maine, police discover the makings of a nuclear "dirty bomb" in the basement of a white supremacist shot dead by his wife. The man, who was independently wealthy, reportedly was agitated about the election of President Obama and was crafting a plan to set off the bomb.

--January 2009: A white supremacist named Keith Luke embarks on a killing rampage in Brockton, Mass., raping and wounding a black woman, killing her sister, then murdering a homeless man before being captured by police as he is enroute to a Jewish community center.

--February 2009: A Marine named Kody Brittingham is arrested and charged with plotting to assassinate President Obama. Brittingham also collected white-supremacist material.

--April 2009: A white supremacist named Richard Poplawski opens fire on three Pittsburgh police officers who come to his house on a domestic-violence call and kills all three, because he believed President Obama intended to take away the guns of white citizens like himself.Poplawski is currently awaiting trial.

--April 2009: Another gunman in Okaloosa County, Florida, similarly fearful of Obama's purported gun-grabbing plans, kills two deputies when they come to arrest him in a domestic-violence matter, then is killed himself in a shootout with police.

--May 2009: A "sovereign citizen" named Scott Roederwalks into a church in Wichita, Kansas, and assassinates abortion provider Dr. George Tiller. Bill O'Reilly, Fox News The Factor had repeatedly labeled Dr. Tiller, "Tiller The Killer," but quickly absolved himself of any responsibility after the doctor was murdered.

--June 2009: A Holocaust denier and right-wing tax protester named James Von Brunn opens fire at the Holocaust Museum, killing a security guard.

--February 2010: An angry tax protester named Joseph Ray Stack flies an airplane into the building housing IRS offices in Austin, Texas. (Media are reluctant to label this one "domestic terrorism" too, but at least one Congressman labeled Stack as a "hero")

--March 2010: Seven militiamen from the Hutaree Militia in Michigan and Ohio are arrested and charged with plotting to assassinate local police officers with the intent of sparking a new civil war.

--March 2010: An anti-government extremist named John Patrick Bedell walks into the Pentagon and opens fire, wounding two officers before he is himself shot dead.

--May 2010: A "sovereign citizen" from Georgia is arrested in Tennessee and charged with plotting the violent takeover of a local county courthouse.

--May 2010: A still-unidentified white man walks into a Jacksonville, Fla., mosque and sets it afire, simultaneously setting off a pipe bomb.

--May 2010: Two "sovereign citizens" named Jerry and Joe Kane gun down two police officers who pull them over for a traffic violation, and then wound two more officers in a shootout in which both of them are eventually killed.

--July 2010: An agitated right-winger and convict named Byron Williams loads up on weapons and drives to the Bay Area intent on attacking the offices of the Tides Foundation and the ACLU, but is intercepted by state patrolmen and engages them in a shootout and armed standoff in which two officers and Williams are wounded. Williams claims he had been watching Fox News for awhile and was grateful Glenn Beck had told him the truth.

--September 2010: A Concord, N.C., man is arrested and charged with plotting to blow up a North Carolina abortion clinic. The man, 26-year--old Justin Carl Moose, referred to himself as the "Christian counterpart to Osama bin Laden” in a taped undercover meeting with a federal informant.

--January 2011: A 22-year-old gunman named Jared Lee Loughner with a long grudge against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and a paranoid hatred of the government walks into a public Giffords event and shoots her in the head, then keeps firing, killing six people and wounding 14 more. Gifford miraculously survives.

--January 2011: A backpack bomb with the potential of killing or injuring dozens of people is found along the route of a Martin Luther King Day “unity march” in downtown Spokane.

--"My tears are flowing and I am stunned and angered that Gabby Giffords was savagely gunned down while performing her congressional duties." So said Minnesota Republican Representative Michele Bachmann in response to to the January 8 mass killing in Tucson. But less than a year ago, Bachmann called for resistance to cap and trade legislation, "I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue," adding, "Thomas Jefferson told us, having a revolution every now and then is a good thing."

--Rep. Tom Perriello's (D-VA) brother's address was erroneously posted online by a Tea Party blogger who invited activists to descend on the house. A gas line outside the brother's house was cut.

--Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) was the target of threatening faxes and phone calls, including death threats.

--A brick was thrown through the window of the Democratic Party office in Rochester, New York.

--Rep. Anthony Weiner's office in Kew Gardens, New York, had to be evacuated after suspicious white powder was found in an envelope mailed to the office.

--A thrown brick smashed a window at Rep. Louise Slaughter's district office in Niagara Falls, New York.

--Slaughter also received a message claiming that "snipers were being deployed to kill those members who voted yes for health care," according to Politico.

--The FBI arrested a California man for making threatening phone calls to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

--A tossed brick demolished a window at the Sedgwick County Democratic Party headquarters in Wichita, Kansas.

-A devoted Glenn Beck fan left a serious of death threats (Kill the fucking Senator!) on the voice mail at the office of Sen. Patty Murray.

2. Today, January 12, 2011, marked the President of the United States coming to Tucson. Mr. Obama visited recuperating victims at University Medical Center and then delivered a moving speech during a memorial service at McHale Center. Meanwhile, Sarah Palin posted an eight minute video on Facebook again portraying herself as a "victim.". Ms. Palin has been particularly volatile with hate filled messages since 2008. She portrayed herself as a victim of blood libel thus infuriating both Christians and Jews alike by using the phrase. Blood libel is a disparaging term used for centuries to identify a myth where Jews allegedly killed Christian children for their blood. Palin displayed her typical vindictive paranoia instead of respect for the dead being eulogized in a memorial attended by the President and other dignitaries, reflecting upon a national tragedy and consideration for the massive outpouring of support for victims and decedents alike. She is only thinking of herself while Gabby Giffords is fighting for life. Subsequently, Palin's basic values and hence, credibility must be questioned in length. Past problems within her family include a daughter, Willow, breaking and entering homes to party with other teenagers (note-Palin interceded resulting in only the boys being indicted; the girls walked away scot free!); homophobic slurs on Facebook uttered by both Willow and Bristol with only Bristol apologizing; Track, the eldest son, being arrested by police for vandalizing a school bus's brakes prompting him to enlist in the Army to avoid trial; and of course, Bristol having a child out of wedlock. Children are reflective of their parents and in this case, the sight is not very positive. Best for Sarah to be seen and not heard unless there is a desire for more light shined upon skeletons in her closet. Unfortunately, she must be regarded as an angry insecure person who lashes out at the slightest hint of criticism, whether true or not; greed indicated by leaving the governorship for more dollars; and a constant obsession to be in the public light regardless.

3. Anyone who adheres to the Republican Party should reconsider in light of GOP actually instituting death panels. The 9/11 responders were held in limbo by Republican Senators who bickered over the Responders Bill. Many of these brave souls are suffering from various diseases emanating from that day in September. Some are destitute from medical bills while others are counting the days until the Grim Reaper appears. Meanwhile, Republican Senators are turning their backs on them, i.e. particularly John McCain who is finally showing his true selfish colors. It is simply disgusting that Republicans are willing to play obstructionist games while brave souls are suffering unto death. The bill finally passed after $3 billion was cut by the GOP (Grand Obstructionist Party).

4. Another Republican death panel is active in Arizona where Guv Jan Brewer cut funds for AHCCCS, the AZ version of Medicaid. Guv zeroed in on transplants and other major surgeries describing them as "Cadillacs." Thus once again, good people are facing the specter of death simply due to an inability to obtain bone marrow replacement, heart transplants, etc.; a total cost of $5 million to provide. "Deer In The Headlights" feels these are unnecessary and is willing to let Arizonans die for the belief (three so far). It is utterly cruel, but Brewer has little compassion except for her misguided ideology. She hasn't made any cuts in the guv's office and could sell one of her two aircraft to cover the $5 million.

3. The Arizona Nationalist Socialist Party (Nazi) is patrolling the border to enhance security and show their colors. Undoubtedly, this made Sheriff Jimmy Arpaio happy since he enjoys having his picture taken with the group. Another public servant, AZ Senator Russell Pearce, enjoyed hobnobbing with the Nazis until it became a public relations risk, but this didn't stop him from soliciting far right input in the writing of SB 1070, the controversial immigration bill. Obviously, politics is more important than the millions who died in WWII fighting Hitler's adherents. My take....its shameful and shows a disrespect toward those Americans who paid the ultimate price during that conflict. Oh, J.T. Ready, the Arizona National Socialist leader, was court-martialed twice by the Marines while serving and then escorted quietly out their door with a bad conduct discharge. Somebody needs to box their ears and also, clue "Deer In The Headlights" Brewer about reality.

Arizona now has 16 hate groups with Tucson gaining a white nationalist group according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Certainly not a notable achievement.

Its not a good year for those dedicated to true Republican principles and conservatism. Barry Goldwater would roll over in his grave.

The Banality of Evil

A scholarly bibliophile aptly describes my existence for the past few decades. This author's mind, however, keeps reverting back to my military years as time and experience create wisdom. They were, citing Charles Dickens, "the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way." The Vietnam War was consuming this nation and its soul as well. Pain, agony, frustration and confusion permeated those fighting in Vietnam, but was aptly superseded by survival. Nobody wanted to die, but death was all around us. As Seymour Hersch, the eminent scholar and journalist notes: "they (the government) were operating in a democracy, guided by a Constitution and among a citizenry who held their leaders to a reasonable standard of morality and integrity." Yet, the government, as the Pentagon Papers later revealed, had been deceiving constituents for years.

Richard Nixon had, as a private citizen, dispatched Anna Chennault to South Vietnam in 1968 to inform President Thieu if he would disrupt the Paris Peace Talks a better deal from future President Nixon would be offered. These actions can be described as treason since private citizens are not allowed to conduct foreign policy, but Nixon had been this way his whole life. Meanwhile, people were dying in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Nixon, of course, was elected promising a secret plan to end the conflict, but in reality desperately wanted to win the war. 21,000 more Americans would lose their lives in Vietnam and even more Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians. As the eminent folk singer, Pete Seeger, sung, "I was knee deep in the Big Muddy" myself. Everyone knew the war was lost, but survival was the key phrase. GIs, for the most part, did their jobs; some refused; some drugged it out, but everyone wanted to get home. Little did we realize Nixon was beginning the war back in the world. When I was home, I wanted to be back in Nam; while in Nam, I wanted to be home. The USA had changed and no one wanted to believe returning Veterans' about the war.

The Veterans Administration didn't know how to deal with our heads and gave psychotropic drugs out like candy. The military diagnosed many with "personality disorders" to deprive them of deserved compensation and thousands committed suicide to stop the pain. Vietnam Vets marched on the White House to toss medals on the lawn and Nixon retaliated by denying any treatment for what was later called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. His desire was to organize VietVets into a organization supporting his foreign policy, but public demonstrations by the returnees caused an irrational Nixon to deny any validity for known specific war problems. Many simply dropped out; headed to the mountains, deserts, and foreign countries to somehow find peace...they became known as "tripwire Vets" and avoided as much social contact as possible. Others sought to lead a "normal" life, but found marriages and jobs in trouble due to their war experiences. Three out four marriages failed and jobs came and went in an endless cycle. No one seemed to care least of all the Veterans Administration. The VA sunk into a bureaucratic nightmare demoralizing those employees who cared and driving Vets away. Politicians were appointed to VA leadership positions and made inane statements which, unfortunately, were supported by the traditional veterans organizations. Many Vietnam Vets knew the rules in Nam, but were confused by this bureaucratic war at home. Many dedicated VietVets persevered, obtained their degrees and attempted to affect change, but the cards were stacked against them. Nixon wanted to win the war, not spend millions to help those "bums," as he called us, with their specific problems. Thus the Vietnam Veteran who gave everything in a war few understood and the government knew was unwinnable tried to survive at home in an atmosphere of moral confusion, nightmares, open discrimination and stereotyped as a "time bomb."

I married, wanted to lead a "normal" life, divorced, went to Idaho, lived in the mountains, returned to Boise later, and held it together long enough to get my degree. VietVets gravitated towards each other and our own support groups were created to survive. Ironically, the FBI kept an eye on us since J. Edgar Hoover believed we were "communists" for surviving. There was a feeling among us dying in Vietnam and being regarded as a "hero" was preferable to being home. The domestic conflict was that bad, but somehow our little group managed to look out for each other long enough for all to survive.

Malformation of Intellectual Capacity

That esteemed pseudo journalist, Bill O'Reilly, again expressed outrage over a judge ruling against the Defense of Marriage Act. O'Reilly, known primarily for a sexual harassment episode and draft avoidance, compared same sex marriage as "like being married to a duck."

The question to be asked is simple. Bill, what do you have against ducks? Duck eggs are tasty in baking recipes; the birds eat numerous insects and are good friends to humans. Methinks Bill has a bird fetish he is denying and will avoid as he does discussing the $15 million settlement with Andrea Macklin, the woman he sexually harassed. Obviously, O'Reilly is no fan of Donald Duck nor Daffy. Someone needs to pull Bill aside and besides checking his citizenship, request his sexual orientation. In the meantime, ducks beware.

Our lovable airhead, Sarah Palin, was a guest on the O'Reilly MisFactor, and Bill actually got upset with her lack of concrete answers. Palin really didn't possess any facsimile of knowledge concerning immigration, border problems, etc.; but was willing to discuss moose breeding habits along the Alaska-Canadian border. Sarah has considerable background of shopping with Republican party funds and could have filled Bulbous Bill in on many helpful points. Alas, she seemed intellectually departed and needs a recharge in her home probably built free by Bridge To NoWhere contractors. Sometimes, honor, credibility and knowledge are hard to obtain.

Our esteemed Arizona Guv, Jan Brewer, has made some wonderful statements befitting only the classier fear mongers. Arizona Senator Russell Pearce and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio have run fast and easy with the Arizona National Socialist Party (Nazi) attending rallies and extolling virtues. The Guv was confronted with this during a press conference and stated her father had died battling the Nazis.

Reality check: her father died in 1955; not during World War II, but its the thought that counts. Right, Jan.

Also, digging very deep to defend SB1070, the notorious immigration enforcement law, the Guv stated: a) most coming over the border were lugging drugs (mules); and later, border crossers were beheading many victims. Both were adamantly denied by the Border Patrol and even John McCain, back from a soma holiday, denied the mule fantasy. Fact is, and don't tell the Guv this, crime along the border is down considerably and JanBrew has to make up stories to justify the new Arizona law. Sighhhhhh, it becomes addictive...lets call it the Palin Syndrome....out of state Republican candidates are flocking to Brewer for endorsements, but she has to figure out where they are from first. It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native criminal class except Congress which exceeds all expectations. One cannot imagine all the perks Congress possesses and would be shocked to the extent luxury replaces accountability. Personally, the idea of barracks housing for single members and government housing for married couples has an appeal. Yearly classes should be offered in ethics, the Road Kill book, interpersonal relationships, and psychological testing to detect the mentally challenged. Space, the final frontier, should not be allowed in Congress; only massive perks and pocket lining. Ask J.D. Hayworth; he knows and appreciates Abramoff as does Senator John Kyl.

6. Mel Gibson....used to like him and his movies, but where has his head moved into? Mel, go to Alice Springs, absorb the Australian sun, relax, and rebuild your career. Don't take Snookie with you; she doesn't where Australia is.

7. Glenn Beck...this guy was a Phoenix disk jockey who got up tight around ratings time. In fact, he called the wife of a dj competitor on the air and chastised her for having a miscarriage. Hey, he needs serious psychiatric intervention and preferably a hot lead enema to straighten him out.

The Misconceived Arizona Bill

Tucson Unified School District is closing down 5 more schools (7 so far) with similar actions in other school districts; their superintendent is leaving for a more stable position; teachers facing layoffs if Prop 100 fails; state agencies not able to assist their clients; homelessness is increasing; meaning state government is having difficulties functioning and now overworked law enforcement officers have been tasked with a federal responsibility in Arizona. Our Guv thinks only of spending more money.....: the Federal Dept of Justice is reviewing this law which mean thousands if not more will be spent by our Attorney General's office. The Guv has also notified us AZ will be filing a lawsuit over Obamacare which will cost thousands, if not more, in legal costs. Undoubtedly, this immigration law will result in a multitude of lawsuits resulting in even more budgetary expenditures. In fact the first was filed today, April 29, and one hears the echoing sound of of a cash register depriving more children, among other issues, of a sound education. Our priorities are misplaced and where is the common sense to restore it.

There are simpler solutions if one must:

Require everyone to file a certified birth certificate with their AZ county of residence. AZ born would integrated by the Department of Health and wouldn't cost a thing....Others could retrieve from their state of residence....in turn, this information could be turned over to Homeland security after matching with other docs such as drivers licenses, etc., making INS jobs easier. Makes sense...

Better yet.....tell the Nazi sympathizers in the Arizona Legislature this ideology didn't work the first time and cost millions their lives.

Sen. Russell Pearce, by the way, is closely connected with the Arizona version of the National Socialists (Nazis) and has spent a great amount of time being photographed with J.T. Ready, a state National Socialist leader. Both are good friends and co-sympathizers of Joe Arpaio, Maricopa County Sheriff who has cost that county $60 million in lawsuit losses the past few years not including Maricopa legal expenditures. Arizona's Guv did not boldly stand for principle, but caved in to specific far right wing interests. She could have raised hell with the feds, but is now costing AZ precious dollars from a boycott. Senators Kyl and McCain favor National Guard along the border which will cost more and before you know it, Arizona will be a name only. Some think this boycott is "funny," but fail to see the full ramifications.

Meanwhile, the "bold" Guv is watching state government slowly disintegrate, schools close, education professionals leaving and a great immigration of brainpower. Common sense doesn't exist in our legislature who fiddle right wing paranoia while our overworked law enforcement officers endure another layer of unneeded responsibility. There was a reason most police chiefs disavowed this bill. Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik labeled the "stupid" and further stated his officers will be directed not to follow it. Ironically, one of the first lawsuits filed was by a Tucson Police Department officer.

The Guv is afraid of growing Latino voting power. She culled the voting rolls of nearly 200,000 predominantly Latino voters prior to the last major election as Secretary of State which caused some controversy. Her motives, to say the least, are supect and this current action will create a political and economic backlash.

Please think, people, and look at the big picture instead of focusing on the simplified rheotoric which envelops many in our legislature and apparently, many ill informed constituents.

Confusion reigns in my light deprived mind.....Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Bachmann, Palin, Limbaugh, Faux News, CNN and more journalistically deprived voices. There are Communists roving the country, radicals in the White House, a dark force creating socialism, Nazis about, religion promoting Marxist concepts such as social justice, Obama is Hitler, blah, blah, blah. One wonders whether the intention is to create utter confusion, obfuscate legitimate issues or simply to alienate the public completely. Then the teabaggers strike with their brand of gray areas mixing militias, racism and confusing logic with equally clouded minds and misspelled signs.

Hannity...another dilettante belonging to the Joe McCarthy school of truth abandonment. Now he and equally flawed Oliver North are being investigated by the IRS for possible misappropriation of funds from the nonprofit Freedom Concert. Hannity and North created the organization, but very little of the $10 million has gone to help the target group, deceased Veterans' families and disabled GIs. Apparently, Hannity and North enjoyed the good life while continuing to shout out their undying dedication to those injured or killed in war. Palin is someone too much has been written about. She has earned $12 million since July espousing conservative "values" which transforms into violence incitement, tax evasion, ethics charges and harassment of her former brother-in-law. Meanwhile her family "values" have been forsaken witnessed by daughter, Willow, breaking into homes with her friends, partying and then arrested by state police. Of course, that "influence" saw only the male revelry makers indicted while Willow and other women were mysteriously left out. Palin has had many family issues, but focuses instead on mediocre cable shows on Fox and the Discovery channel. Both are ratings disasters since she faked interviews with LL Cool J and Toby Keith for Fox; and was an environmental disaster for Alaska. She makes the bucks while her family fades into disenchantment devoid of societal respect for order.

Limbaugh...another draft evader convicted drug abuser who used influence not only to avoid military service, but serious charges for doctor shopping, money laundering, drug purchase and distribution. He mutilates the truth, throws out seditious comments and buffers himself in a sanctimonious sanctification. He needs a life in a cave where whatever goodness possessed can be rediscovered if possible. Another who desires to attain manhood, but is confused.

They are symbolic of a society gone awry; a constituency desiring simple answers to complex questions while milling in a menacing manner egged on by those who manufacture the "big lies" and labels. It would be interesting to compare the criminal records of leading Nazis, whose ideology is thrown out so much to smear, with several of these neocon airheads....

America lost its moral compass somewhere along the line and is having difficulty finding it again. It's not the first time in our short history and unfortunately, won't be the last. Countries are created by human beings and as such grievously err towards some while others applaud. This is the nature of our condition and occasionally a check is needed on the condition of our condition.

Sadly, the Bush Administration corrupted journalistic ethics by not only paying various pundits to echo their opinions, but provided special dispensation to corporate news owners. Fairness was swept aside for volatile content, falsities, video editing out of context and overall, enough to make the hallowed likes of Chet Huntley, Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite turn over in their graves. Sensationalism has replaced journalistic integrity and racism hints have been accepted as valid comments.

Those of us who recall McCarthy and that red baiting era have been sadly reminded by current techniques and accusatory comments. Talking heads who have contributed very little to our society and less in socially redeeming value constantly belittle the basic concepts this nation was founded upon. Waves of mindless radicalism are whipped up in opposition to the most inane topics such as the President speaking to school children as "brainwashing" or "socialistic" health reform undermining this nation. Ironically, while Americans, Iraqis and Afghans are dying, citizens are suffering from corporate run health plans and a myriad of other issues disregarded in lieu of posturing, falsities and name calling.

There is a major scandal brewing in Washington, D.C., which will impact not only the media, but the entire nation. The origins are in a deposition by a whistle blower named Sibel Edmonds whose former CIA positions gave her unlimited information sources. She has already illustrated corruption among numerous former Senators, nuclear information sales to black markets and evidence of wrongdoing in the highest levels. Commensurately, torture and other acts are still dividing the nation while religious leaders remain silent. Talking heads tout the validity of torture, downplay any hit of Republican wrongdoing and solemnly believe in pushing it all under the table.

Wake up, America!! 60,000 of us died in Vietnam along with 3,000,000 of their citizens for a mistake it took years to admit. Now, young Americans are dying again for another mistake in Iraq that Bush politicians used lies to drag us into. The likes of Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity and Coulter, among others, have not given much to this nation yet feel their message is vital to its survival. Their desire is not consensus, but increased ratings based upon inane statements and rash sensationalism. Talk of socialism or communism is not prefaced by definition, but instead hurled without regard at the President, his staff and appointees.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Honorable Sarah Palin will address us in her capacity as Governor of the Great State of Alaska for the last time. She has seen her last Russian plane; the last view of Russia from her kitchen; and still has the Bridge to Nowhere. The Governor now speaketh:

Palin: Hi, everyone, I love you and know you love me even though my popularity ratings have nose dived into the Bering Sea. Sad, and just when I needed more per diem, Arctic Cat jackets, PACs and legal defense funds.

Okie, dokey, the problem here is not me; never me, but the media. Our brave soldiers are fighting in Kuwait just so the media can talk about my family. Its an outrage and I am personally mind sick over it!

I know there are 15 months left in my administration since I counted them last night while reading my seven figure book contract. Wow, a hockey mom writing a book and so far I have 252 blank pages. It's a start! Just so much to say about what is needed in this country to make me richer, hire enough attorneys to stay out of jail and maintain some kind of presence.

The Media is bad. Katie Couric, Charles Gibson and the rest asked me questions I wasn't prepared for and probably never will be. It was disgusting to sit there and have to think about what publications I read or my qualifications for vice-president. I read a lot, sometimes even more and really enjoy book pictures. Told them what a VP does, but too illiterate to understand. They should be ashamed as I am.

I will continue to further my agenda which is ever changing and promote good Americanism when it happens. Good Americanism is defined as whatever gives me more power, more account money and the ability to say things that don't make sense to dumb Americans. Its that simple and now I can do it with a seven figure book deal. $150,000 in two months for clothes was a spit in the old bucket!!

The silly ethics charges still plague me and recently I failed to respond to one about my legal defense fund. You know, there are some great sales out there and THEY claim I used the money wrongfully. Now, by law, I have to appear to defend myself. Don't they know I am the Governor Emeritus and don't have to do diddly. The Great Dick Cheney is in the same boat, but he sent his daughter out to defend his lawlessness. I can't do that since mine don't know what to defend and frankly, neither do I. Its a tough world for a hockey mom out of work and no pension.

It was all these cowpie bloggers that made me decide to resign, but a new saying went in the book: pulling a Palin. I really haven't quit that much, but perhaps a lot, but in a minor sense. Frankly, I resent calls to see my notarized high school diploma. Just another media trick to humiliate my Family, but it is difficult to recall which high school I quit. I went to four colleges and must have graduated from one. As of this moment, this hockey mom is a private citizen and will campaign for just about anyone if the price is right.

I am for good old American capitalism! Capitalism and not this silly socialism Obama stands for. Socialism is defined as anything that resembles My Space, FaceBook or Twitter without a profit. Twitter carries my message, but not far enough. People, I need a platform, preferably with a seven figure salary, to convey the message of the Republican party, the Alaska Independence Movement, oops, never mind, and other options which grant me stipends, contractual endoments, et. al.

Finally, being Governor of this Great State has been a blast. Doing absolutely nothing for months while lining up deals is one of the greatest enjoyments of life. Working at home, collecting the big per diem bucks, flying the kids on the state dole, spending more time out of state promoting myself rather than assisting with Alaskans home fuel crisis and finally, convincing the Republican big wigs I am a viable candidate for higher office is stressful. Hockey moms know how to handle this and I will always keep an eye on Putin over there who poses a threat to our way of life.

Nuff said....I am out of here, got to see my lawyers, bitch about Tina Fey though she provided good publicity (SNL paid good bucks), handle some ethics problems and make sure my ex-brother-in-law has some more issues. No questions since my hair can't take it. My kids will be along soon and you can ask them. This is Sarah Palin saying you won't have me to kick around any more and neither will I.

The Media sucks...now I have said it. Folks, don't believe anything they say about me, Todd, my Family or money I allegedly took under the table. or contractors who built our house for free. I have mouths to feed, wolves to shoot from helicopters and sponsors willing to pay for my mind...not much, but enough. Remember, American Capitalism is the best in the world and I, Sarah Palin, believe in attaining as much capital as possible. I'm gone, but have to remember what high school I attended....hmmmmmmm.

Wait, one more thing!! There is a rumor out there about Todd and I divorcing. Not true since he owes me too much and my religion forbades it, I think...will have to check with witch doctor. The despicable, uncouth National Enquirer is quoting 4 people as saying I had an affair with my husband's former business partner, Brad Hanson whom Todd divorced shortly thereafter for some reason. They even claim possession of a notarized statement, but whoopy do! I don't even know what an affair is much less engage in one. Would I dare do this after my daughter had a child out of wedlock and then after that scoundrel father of her baby, Levi, went about the country saying we knew he was doing the horizontal tango with her in our own house. Nein, nadda, nix, not so.! We don't even know what goes on in our own house much less someone having sex with our daughter...geeeeesssssshhhh. Okay, no affair, honest, no affair, I was Wasilla Mayor and much too busy building the Bridge to Nowhere, our free, oops, our house, making deals and driving the city into $23 million debt. Each of us possess dreams and fantasies which nfluence our daily lives. Here are some of mine:

1. George W. Bush Jr. is sentenced to live in an African-American neighborhood; followed by Hispanic; then Native American, etc. He experiences a transformation, hires a ghost author, and authors a book entitled: "I Was A Druggie In The ANG."

2. Dick Cheney travels to North Korea where he tortures snow drifts, watches people starve due to a truly totalitarian society craved and seldom appears on television.

3. O’Reilly goes to the Vatican where he proudly brags to the Pope about his sexual harassment suit costing $15 million to settle; and deflates when Pope waves it off as small potatoes.

4. Hannity enlists in the Marines, fights in Afghanistan and develops some honor. He later starts a chicken farm in Illinois, but is busted for using steroids to hype roosters. Old habits die hard.

5. Glenn Beck...transplant him to Montana where he can spout civil insurrection all day long, join a militia and live out his life in a closet along the river of no return.

6. Ann Coulter joins a convent and lives cloistered by walls blanketing her spouting hatred thus precluding book sales at any cost.

7. Michelle Malkin develops writers’ block and lip syncs to Ashley Simpson lip syncing all day long.

8. Michael Savage journeys back to Europe, is kidnapped by nudists, transported to Bornholm and joins a colony after admitting he has a small mind and member to match.

9. Rush Limbaugh admits he was arrested for male pandering in Pittsburgh, avoided the draft due to all those "guys" and daddy's influence, took oxycontin repeatedly to develop a stiffy thinking it was Viagra, gets a thrill knowing a whole lot of Republicans listen religiously to him though his past includes job firings, money laundering, drug abuse, doctor swapping, etc., that Repubs normally criticize Democrats for not doing more to arrest; and eventually ends up in a delusional house of ill repute selling venereal disease information to the willing.

10. Rep. Michelle Bachman, MN, spends her career after losing the election lecturing loons in northern Minnesota on all the Washington evils, revising history and pointing out the inane in illogicality.

11. Sen. John McCain returns to Hanoi to pick up copies of the 50 films, verified by Rep. Bob Dornan, taken of him with his “special” nurse while he supposedly being tortured, but while there relapses into giving radio broadcasts and narrating propaganda films again that don't exist.

12. Dick Morris, already convicted of using a prostitute, decides his foot fetish can be done legally. Enrolls in a School of Podiatry and specializes in bunions to satisfy his obsession.

13. Mark Sanford and John Ensign found the School For The Heavenly Sanctification of Extramarital Relations and Economic Gain on C Street, Washington D.C. Special consultant is Jeff "Bootsy" Gannon and Alberto "Help Me Find Honor" Gonzales.

14. Lou Dobbs is fired from his broadcasting position and settles in Leadville, Colorado, where he addresses beautiful stands of trees each morning on the birther question, illegal immigration and his need for more brain cell regeneration.

15. H. Gordon Liddy, renown Watergate felon and former disbarred Boy Scout, discovers his mustache has transferred to his posterior and remains confused remainder of his life.

The nature of our politicians has become increasingly hard to understand. On one hand, the usual talk of patriotism, adhering to citizen's wishes, blah, blah, is there; on the other is, as Freud would say, the dark side. It has become increasing difficult to comprehend elected officials who knowingly accept violation of any law, but it occurs with frequency.

This is not meant to include those elected Congress officials who are arrested by the FBI, etc., for molesting Pages, cocaine running, etc., but rather the sublime acceptance, for example, of the Bush Administration molding any law to their devious wishes. What is about our nature that creates acceptance of unlawful spying on citizens, torture, illegal arrests and holding of minors under the Patriot Act?

More difficult to understand is how proclaimed Christians can describe themselves as such and accept torture. These miracles of mass confusion loudly protest Miss California "losing" due to her proclaiming the sanctity of heterosexual marriage, but remain oddly silent on Abu Ghraib, societal torture acceptance and overall corruption within the past administration. This is an indication of the anthropomorphizing of Christianity to the extent adherents are being driven away in masses thanks to the political schenangigans of Pat Robertson, Franklin Graham, James Dobson and the late Jerry Falwell. Their desire to force societal acceptance of Christianity as the dominant religion has resulted in Americans shying away from their autocratic utterances and prejudicial remarks. Oddly, they seem to forget much in the name of the dollar bill.

The USA is at the moral crossroads and must decide whether to continue hypocritical darkness or renewal with full morality.

The Magic Leaf Parties

Once upon a time in the Land of Oz, brain cell deprived talking heads decided to propagandize the masses by claiming the recently elected Munchkin president was leading them to communism, no socialism, no fascism., no way!! Utter Glen, the more vocal of the fascist chargers, spend long and hard hours trying to convince everyone of the dangers he saw during the day, in his sleep and visions confronting him at night if his meds weren't taken.. Bile Bill could only claim Utter Glen was right and of course, saw the same problems, but in a different light since a recent civil suit resulted in a $15 million payout to a sexually harassed female munchkin. Surreptitious Sean was distraught since he could not think of other ways to twist facts, figures and his own mind to gain more ratings than Bile Bill, ooops, to convince Ozians the peril they were being confronted with.

Thus the Three Pedants were pitched an idea emanating from more powerful beings, the dread Rich Right Wingers, who desired to oust the Great Munchkin President from the Oz Wizard House It was decided to drink more and then challenge the masses to a giant party where the disaffected could feel better through the magic of chemistry and of course, the hallowed Pedants' words. The theme was argued and argued; finally the dread Rich Right Wingers decided it would be called The Magic Leafs Parties after a historical incident years ago where Munchins threw dandelions at the wizard in protest after Dorothy and the Three Amigos revealed the truth about the All Mighty. The Three Pedants were overjoyed and could see their ratings going sky high, but what if the Munchkins masses started thinking. It was agreed this would not occur since most Munchkins had a two week retention rate according to Bile Bill and all smile with glee.

Thus, the Rich Right Wing began spending millions to sponsor Magic Leaf Parties all over Oz for the masses to complain about balderdash and low taxes. Flux News Network quickly forsook any remaining semblance of objectivity and initiated hyping the events as a way for the Munchkins to express their anger. Commercials, talk shows, and even the Wicked Witch pitched in to support the events. The Three Pedants agreed it would be a solid message to the Munchkin President of their anger and despair.....hopefully causing him to fail. Of course, never once did they consider the failure of the president also meant the failure of Oz....but who cares when ratings are involved?

Alas and Alack, the magic day came and went. The Magic Leaf party went down in flames due to the violent ramblings of a few who Flux News chose to show on the air. As in the past presidential election, the Republwicans could not resist making inflammatory statements and the vocal weird inflamed minority spouted very extreme balderdash in return. The Republwican candidates, both supported by the Wicked Witch, did not disclaim the violent statements and were branded. Thus, the Magic Leaf parties suffered the same fate in addition to displaying a short memory span where balderdash and low taxes originated. In fact, one speaker was booed when he placed direct responsibility on the prior president, Boy In A Bubble Bush, for these problems. Of course, this was true, but no one wanted to hear the truth particularly Flux News.

Flux News attempted to create the best spin, but to no avail. The Magic Leaf parties were disasters leaving the Three Pedants holding the bags. Of course, they could blame the president before Bubble Boy, Wee Willie, for the problems, but that was a time reach. Therefore, the best solution was simply to shout of the great liberal Munchkin plot to destroy the people's message. Of course, an argument ensued over what that message was, who was going to pay some of money back, how the ratings would fall and did anyone have anything to drink.

Noticeably absent during all of these deliberations and event was noted extremist, Dilletante Wush Limburger, who was busy searching for his brain. He was very upset the Scarecrow had beaten him to the punch and daily berated him for his political tendencies. It was sad, but Wush was on a woll and could not be stopped, unless more Magic Pills were needed.

Thus it went in the Land of Oz where neocons and Republwicans blend into one and really can't be differentiated from; not even when the vocal violent minority open their mouths and spout insanity. The Three Pedants like this and blame the Munchkin President for their uttering. Most prefer the Three Pedants just go away referably back to their comfortable lifestyle so far removed from current problems most Ozians are experiencing. Wush, meanwhile, is still searching for his brain, but word has it only one can be dispensed by the Wizard. Poor Wush, he just has to rough it.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out the Bush influenced financial world is the source of its own demise and obviously their own worst enemy.

Meanwhile, thousands are losing their homes, possessions and ending up homeless. Tent cities are springing up outside of major cities similar to the Great Depression in our past. The definite lack of concern towards these people displayed by major corporations is pathetic. CitiBank and other credit card companies bailed out by taxpayer funds showed their empathy by raising interest rates. The message is simple as given by CNBC messenger Ron Santelli, these people are losers who lost their homes so why give a break. Fantastic Christian values from American corporations showing the best of business darwinism. Meanwhile, no one has really answered who will pick up the pieces; Americans are footing the bill, but who steps forward and puts it all back together again.

Business and journalism ethics have to change to win back confidence of the American public. The flagrant violation of ethics in both professions has caused many to pause and wonder why they are being subjected to such financial and intellectual abuse. The Bill O'Reilly predator tactics, Glenn Beck's doomsaying, and Rush Limbaugh's normal arrogant rantings have cast doubt in the minds of Americans who now wonder what the truth is. Apparently, the Right is angry over losing power and is now intent on retaliating not only on the new President, but all wrong thinking citizens as well.

Overall, it is pathetic! Americans need to pull together to overcome the depression, yet Limbaugh, Beck, Coulter, O'Reilly, etc. want the opposite. They preach the values of despair and gloom while enjoying massive salaries through questionable broadcast tactics. Citizens need to see through this and focus on what is best for all of us.

The bottom line is survival. We need to remember it was 8 years of their thinking that caused this mess and it's not something to be proud of.

The Election Thing

It's finally over and a new President was sworn in on January 20th to face a multitude of problems. The election, however, though historic in the election of Barack Obama, again revealed the divisive nature of American society.

Americans prefer to think the best while excluding any thought of the worst in anyone. This election, however, displayed the Republican Party at its worst. John McCain did a complete turnaround from his year 2000 position and with his snarling partner, Sarah Palin, became a "its only business" campaigner. Their campaign seemed desperate, disjointed and unfortunately, McCarthyistic in both tone and action. Attacking personalities became more important than debating ideas further illustrating the limited intellectual capacities of both candidates. Sarah Palin's rhetoric empowered cries of "traitor," "Arab," "Communist," and other derisive terms towards Obama coupled with her denial to be the cause of it.

Palin cannot dispute a singular fact released by the Secret Service: her utterances caused a sharp increase in death threats towards President Elect Obama. This, alone, should cause the Republican Party to stop and reflect upon the dirty tactics utilized and to what end. Governor Palin needs to reassess her position in this election and drop the offended position towards the media. She was responsible for the hatred rise and should address that immediately. Overall, the greatest responsibility is held by John McCain who displayed his true moral character not only foisting Sarah Palin upon the American Public, but disdaining any opposition towards lack of credentials, ethical problems and importantly, her utterances. The real John McCain came forth and was rejected in mass by voters.

The Republican Party, guided the past few years by neocons, has not rejected the hate generated by the McCain Campaign Committee. Seemingly, it has begun soul-searching on the election loss and disconnect with the public. The most obvious answers seem to elude Republican leadership-Americans just became tired of the flip-flops, hate spewing, transparent tactics and lack of issue discussion. The primary issue was and still is the economy; an issue McCain avidly avoided since it was the singular one the election could be lost on. The lack of specifics and noticeable effort to keep Sarah Palin away from any press questioning doomed the Republic effort. They are a party in turmoil both morally and emotionally.

Discussion of Sarah Palin being a frontrunner is an affront to the voters' intelligence. Obviously, if she cannot withstand press questioning, how can one rely upon her to discharge the Presidency? Secondly, her own ethical problems created bonafide character doubt intensifed by her affiliation with the Alaska Independence Group, an anti-American group, church affiliations, and abuse of power as governor. These doubts are only doubled by a definite lack of domestic and international knowledge a presidential candidate must possess.

John McCain needs to retire since it is obvious major credibility has been lost and Sarah Palin needs to remain in Alaska where, though her popularity has waned, she can be with those who appreciate her.

The United States needs to be unified, not disunited by these two who would do almost anything to be elected. To paraphrase, one can understand giving your soul to God, but to Washington D.C.?

Ladies and gentleman, we are proud to present the Governor of Alaska bordering on Russia and also on Canada, which she can see out of both windows on a cloudy day when Russian planes aren't flying over, Sarah Palin

McPalin: Thank you, everyone, you betcha I can see those things and I want to remind the kindergarten Alaska legislature that they get extra credit for this press conference.

Press: Governor Palin, you have been criticized for your inexperience and overall lack of knowledge particularly in foreign affairs. How do you respond to that.

McPalin: Moose hunting this year was very good and I tracked one into Canada which meant a discussion with Border Agents was undertaken. They were nice and I came home rich with bountiful foreign affair experience. Those moose are so cooperative when it comes to diplomacy.

PRESS: Governor, you indicated prior that you would cooperate fully with the Alaska Legislature investigating Troopergate, but have let McCain campaign lawyers stonewall the inquiry. What did you decide to do this contrary to your earlier statement?

McPalin: Being a hockey mom who fires people who don't sign personal loyalty oaths means wearing a different hat when confronted with situations. Alaska is a energy producing state which I became governor of and dedicated myself to reforming the wasteful type of government that existed. John McCain wants to do the same, but can't find Alaska. He has been lost for several decades, but no one has noticed and I will ride his coattails hopefully to the White house in lieu of climate warming which is only partially manmade, but some. (Wink, wink, nod, nod, elbow to the ribs)

Press: Governor, you didn't answer the question at all. Please do so.

McPalin: Now, I may not answer the way you want, but will be straight with the Russian people living near Georgia since they can't be seen from Atlanta. This tussle over Troopergate is simply an internal matter which has become partisan due to a few deciding I wasn't hard enough on my ex-brother-in-law, a former trooper. Its a drop in the bucket compared to my taxes.

Press: You were hesitant to release your taxes and your assets really don't match your earnings. However, you claimed $15,000 on per diem payments working out of your house and used state money to fly your children on vacations. This doesn't seem to be quite legal according to the Alaska Tax Commissioner and the IRS.

McPalin: What have they got to do with it? I am a hockey mom who needs to set rules for my children and the same for the state. I have reformed a good old boy network, cut necessary waste like naughty books in libraries and terminated some who didn't agree with me. Oh, gosh, Harry Potter is so satanic and librarians should expect criticism. My taxes are in order since I deem them so and support our troops in Iraq. My children are precious and I take them with me as much as possible in spite of Alaska forcing me to save money by charging the state.

Press: Governor, a lot of what you are saying is disjointed and to be honest, doesn't really make sense. You are sounding like someone who makes rules for themselves and then screams upon getting caught. Your interview answers have been uninformed, problems with taxes and ethics have arisen, and you have difficulty answering the simplest questions. Don't you see that as an impediment to the McCain campaign?

McPalin: John McCain is an honest man who only made occasional propaganda broadcasts for the North Vietnamese while a POW to secure more privileges. Wait....oh, I wasn't supposed to say that...oopsie, sorry.....never mind about that....Anyway, he has been a solid friend to MIA/POW activists....what, oh, oopsie, sorry, never mind about that either....I along with John McCain support our Veterans....what, damn ear mike, he voted against Veterans bills 27 times....oopsie, what the hell can I say..okay...Sorry about that....I support John McCain having numerous lobbyists in his campaign since they are so charming and very well informed and approved by Karl Rove.

Press: Have you ever answered a question directly?

McPalin: I have always wanted to eradicate hunger and poverty and make people happy. That is why I have chosen to participate in this vice-presidential pageant. It is an honor to represent my state....what, oh, oopsie, wrong answer....Yes, I answered directly during my wedding ceremony with an I do and have been happily married for some years with 5 beautiful children...a hockey mom who supported Alaska secession, wearing different hats while frowning upon polar bear rights and urging oil companies to drill, drill, drill even if it means my own teeth.

Press: How do you expect to proceed in the Vice-President's position, a heart beat away from the Presidency, if elected, with this type of management style.

McPalin: I am opposed to same sex marriage and understand that seagulls are gay. They will be banned from the White House lawn. Also, as Mayor of Wasilla, I undertook extensive reforms to achieve federal earmarks which resulted in a debt of $20 million in a city employing 63 people. I am opposed to earmarks unless the money can be kept like the funds for our wonderful bridge. It is called the Bridge to Nowhere, but to me is the Bridge to Somewhere....just waiting for someone somewhere to finish the wonderful concept I began and supported, but didn't support since I am a NRA hockey mom who wants to be vice-dictator....oopsie...president.

Ladies and gentleman, the Governor will take a final question now.

Press: Governor Palin, what exactly have you achieved towards vice-presidential experience?

McPalin: My husband, Todd, entered snowmobile races yearly, but should have perhaps been watching our teenage daughter who is now pregnant. You betcha I talked to him about that. Dick Cheney and Henry Kissinger have advised me, but I really don't know what they said, but will do as they say. The Vice-President's office should be unitary, all by itself, contrary to the Constitution which is just an old document anyway. What do old documents have to do with running a country? It's the same as running a PTA which I haven't done either. Anyway, my executive experience makes me well qualified to achieve more monetary gain as vice-president. I am so excited about a pay raise and all those other ways to get more money quietly Dick told me about.

Thank you for inviting me to this press conference and I hope we have many more to develop understanding in achieving the eradication of hunger, poverty and those pesky Russians flying over Alaska. Oh, and a vote for the McCain/Palin ticket is a vote for something somewhere like my bridge. Over and out, you betcha.

Contrived Hero Myth-John McCain

Objective analysis points to a simple fact: John McCain is not a hero. A close examination of his history indicates a parallel to George W. Bush Jr. and not in a flattering manner. Both had fathers who continually bailed them out from trouble and these sons took ready advantage of their fathers’ reputations to achieve unearned status.

*McCain earned an extraordinary amount of demerits at the Naval Academy, but was allowed to graduate 5th from the bottom of his class.

*He crashed an aircraft in Naval flight training which mandated expulsion, but McCain was allowed to complete the course.

*McCain ran into power lines on the Iberian Peninsula while deployed to the Mediterranean causing a second crash without repercussion.

*Oddly enough, he was made an Instructor Pilot upon return to Pensacola, Florida, and proceeded to lose another aircraft while flying to the Army-Navy football game. The Navy rewarded him by assigning to the carrier, USS Forrestal.

*McCain lost his fourth jet on July 29, 1967, when a rocket slammed into his fully loaded jet killing 134 sailors. He escaped injury, according to some by immediately going below while others battled the flames. Oddly enough, McCain took it upon himself to simply leave the Forrestal without notifying his superiors to party in Tokyo. The Benevolent Navy took no action against him and transferred the erring pilot to the USS Oriskany.

*He lost his fifth jet after being shot down over North Vietnam and captured on October 26, 1967.

*According to an article written by him for the U.S. News and World Report, May 14, 1973, ...”After being periodically slapped around for “three or four days” by his captors who wanted military information from him, McCain called for an officer on his fourth day of captivity. He told the officer, “O.K., I’ll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital.” Not only was this a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the Code of Conduct, but can be viewed as collaboration with the enemy.

A surgeon was flown in from Moscow and McCain accepted preferential medical treatment at a hospital near Gia Lam airport reserved for Vietnamese officers. No other POW received the same which again violated the UCMJ and Code of Conduct.

*According to sources and McCain in his book, he divulged specific military information such as the carrier he flew from, number of pilots lost, specific flight information and rescue units currently available. Apparently, he did this to gain medical attention.

*Retired Army Colonel Earl Hopper states McCain told his captors "highly classified information, the most important of which was the package routes, which were routes used to bomb North Vietnam. He gave in detail the altitude they were flying, the direction, if they made a turn...he gave them what primary targets the United States was interested in." Hopper further contends this information allowed the North Vietnamese to adjust their air defenses and subsequently the US lost sixty percent more aircraft resulting in the curtailment of North Vietnam bombing. All this was due, Hopper states, because of the information McCain divulged.

*McCain participated in propaganda films and radio broadcasts aimed at American troops. According to the Saigon UPI, June 4, 1969: “Reds say POW Songbird is Pilot Son of Admiral...Hanoi has aired a broadcast in which the pilot son of United States Commander in the Pacific Adm. John McCain purportedly admits to having bombed civilian targets in North Vietnam and praises medical treatment he has received since being taken prisoner.” He had earned the nickname “Songbird” from his captors.

*He talks often of torture, but did not transfer to the Hanoi Hilton until December, 1969. According to the Phoenix New Times, March 25, 1999, Two former POWs, Air Force Colonels Ted Guy and George “Swede” Larson, said in a feature article they could not guarantee that McCain was not physically harmed, (but) they doubted it. Both Guy and Larson were senior ranking officers (SROs) in McCain’s POW camp at a time he claims he was in solitary confinement and being tortured.

*Larson told the New Times, “Between the two of us, it’s our belief, and to the best of our knowledge, that no prisoner was beaten or harmed physically in that camp (known as ‘The Plantation’). My only contention the the McCain deal is that while he was at the Plantation, to the best of my knowledge and Ted’s knowledge, he was not physically abused in any way. No one was in that camp. It was the camp that people were released from.”

*McCain bases his hero myth on the contention he refused to be released unless everyone was. Sources state this was not a big deal since McCain was ordered by Senior Officers to state this. Secondly, former Rep. Bob Dornan (CA) states transcripts exist from former POWs reacting to McCain’s collaboration negatively. According to Dornan, McCain has always been afraid these transcripts would turn up particularly during a presidential campaign. Dornan offered another reason why McCain refused release by the North Vietnamese. He said those released first were collaborators, which McCain was one, and this would have ended not only his military career and hurt the Navy, but would impact his father also.

*McCain has actively opposed the efforts of MIA/POW activists and according to witnesses, physically attacked at least one. He has rudely interrupted hearings to berate MIA/POW family members and has worked religiously to curtail any POW information being released either from the government or from any POWs or their family members. It seems rather odd he would take these positions, but he has been no friend of Veterans as well. McCain voted against 27 Veterans bills indicated by his record, but falsely states support for Veterans. He simply does not consider Veterans a priority much less MIA/POWs, but brags of his support.

*He returns from captivity to his wife, Carol, who is now in a wheel chair from a car accident. He desired a coveted Admiral slot and the Navy assisted by reinstating him to flight duty in lieu of his disabilities. He assumes position of Executive Officer, Replacement Air Group 174, which trained pilots and crews from deployment. While Executive Officer and later Commander, McCain authorized flights allowing him to mingle with subordinates and engage in extra-marital affairs again violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice regarding adultery and fraternizing with subordinates. The Navy, however, continued the tradition of excusing McCain from penalties and he got away with it.

*Robert Timbert, author of The Nightingale’s Song, wrote: “Off duty, usually on routine cross-country flights to Yuma and El Centro, John (McCain) started carousing and running around with women. To make matters worse, some of the women with whom he was linked by rumor were subordinates...At the time the rumors were so widespread that, true or not, they became part of McCain’s persona, impossible not to take note of.” The Navy overlooked his behavior and excused him from any discipline.

It seems apparent John McCain has contrived his own history and should be viewed as lacking sufficient character to hold the office of the Presidency or the Senate. His POW and Naval records need to be scrutinized for collaboration and other accountable acts. The truth needs to be ascertained prior to this man ascending to any higher office for to do otherwise would be looking the other way. This is exactly what caused the current problems with John McCain.

George Will Go No More A Roaming

Well, well, well. Scott McClellan has written a book telling the American people what was already known, but many didn't want to admit. Our citizenry is basically fantastic, but gullible to the point of refusing to believe the truth until human cost supersedes belief. Thus far the human cost is nearly 4500 American dead in Afghanistan/Iraq, thousands of casualties and even more experiencing the horrific effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Over 107 active duty personnel committed suicide in 2007 and discharged Vets are taking their lives to the number of 150 weekly. There is no way to calculate the human grief families experience, but we all know the feeling. The damage done to our national psyche is incalculable, but living out the darkness again seems to be nearing.

Why do Americans allow a substandard candidate such as George W. Bush Jr. become President of the United States? His history indicated a silver spoon youth who flaunted responsibility and depended upon his father to bail him out of trouble repeatedly. Bush influence granted him access to the Texas Air National Guard 3 days after college graduation in lieu of being drafted though the waiting list was 18 months long. Later he was given a direct commission and allowed into flight training again being unqualified for the first and woefully for the second. Bush and his handlers have attempted to blur this man's fall from grace during the Guard period, but facts do exist. George Bush Jr. was removed from flight duty for failing to obey orders to take a flight physical and other reasons. Any flight duty removal immediately necessitates a board review composed of field officers who then document the exact reasons for this action. This document was never brought up by the press who either never knew or chose not to ask. Bush was aware of this and kept very quiet emphasizing only his discharge.

He also never admitted violating a signed contract and two other documents when he agreed to seek out a Reserve or Guard unit in Massachusetts after being accepted in Harvard Business School and discharge from the Texas Air National Guard. He simply failed to do this without fear from the FBI who regularly investigated and detained deserters. He has no reason to fear since his father was a US Representative and being a silver spoon youth. Bush simply chose his life path as he saw fit and never worried about the consequences.

His business experience is inconsequential since he followed the same routine of irregularity and authority deviation. Dependence upon his Father and George Sr.'s friends for both business advancement as well as to extricate him from delicate situations became a trademark. One business after another failed and in one situation he used his situation to make a stock market killing. Problem was he as on the board and specifically a budget committee which knew the financial status of the the corporate stock. Nevertheless, Bush dumped the stock, made a mint and was later investigated by the SEC. The SEC never really dropped the investigation, but Bush would claim, erroneously, it had been.

His wild days of college and the Guard were punctuated by stories of alleged drug abuse, alcoholic stupor and debauchery. Bush, in one account, allegedly impregnated a girl and then drove her to a Houston hospital for an abortion. Larry Flynt, renown Penthouse publisher, apparently tracked down the woman, now married to an FBI agent, but she refused to talk for fear of his husband's future. It was this type of fear Bush and his protective friends depended on to stymy any criticism whether valid or not. Another reaction was to simply attack the credibility of anyone who dared uttered a disdainful statement, but that didn't always work.

Bush was elected Texas governor and quickly embroiled himself in scandal of major proportions involving a funeral home corporation. He immediately ever meeting with any corporate officials, but others quickly corroborated seeing officers in Bush's office. The scandal didn't really follow him like Whitewater did the Clintons, but the stain remained. It was there for anyone to see and a responsible press could quickly bring up credibility questions.

Americans want to quickly forget any discrediting episode and have a tendency to positively reinforce their position. The Nixon deal is an ideal example of this since he was a law flaunter of major proportions before and during his presidency. Bush Jr. has shown a tendency not only to skirt the law, but to openly advertise the fact he has down so. Congress will not hold him accountable, but history will long after he is gone. He can't hid his record forever nor transfer records to a safe have as he did his Texas governor papers to his father's presidential library. Eventually, a lawsuit forced Bush to relinquish these to the State of Texas and archivists are busy cataloging the documents. This President has a tendency to believe what he wants, as McClellan points out, and then justify his position at that moment regardless of recorded facts. The honesty of it is fleeting, but his doesn't seem to bother the Bush administration.

The Iraqi War is stocked with pre-war propaganda and mistruths. Bush will defend his actions to the hilt without answering any questions. His handlers were very careful not to expose him to hostile questions, but facts have been bubbling up regardless. The weapons of mass destruction did not exist and in fact, had been sold to Sadaam Hussein by the Reagan and Bush Sr. administration during the earlier Iran-Iraqi War. Their hope was both sides would simply do each other in and then the US could move into the created vacuum for US hegemony. Congress did investigate this, validated the sale of both chemical/biological agents and nuclear information. It was noted this fact did not appear during this war period, but it is vitally important. The absence of historical fact only leads to widespread distortion of the truth and the ability to bend public will to a predetermined conclusion. Bush's handlers were aware of this and carefully groomed major corporate CEOs, particularly media, to their way of thinking. Consequently, the war became primarily a media affair with very little truth coming out until recently. Now a maelstrom has developed over domestic propaganda and White House involvement.

Hopefully, the press will meet their failings and rehabilitate themselves. The same exists for the White House and Congress; however, it will take the American public to force the press, government, the pentagon and many other institutions to change their wayward ways in remembrance of their basic purpose towards public trust. Until then, society's fabric will continue to tear away with each hateful utterance by the likes of Michael Savage, Michelle Malkin, Bill O'Reilly and the rest of their ilk who distort the truth with a disdain much like the White House.

Scott McClellan is not a hero, but he is a symbol of a conscience which finally prevailed in a cesspool of eruditic confusion. The wholesale desire by the White House to fabricate anything in order to spin a story and maintain public credibility whether by manufacturing a myth involving Jessica Lynch or the existence of WMDs in Iraq. It all comes down to the same disdain for the truth and the prevalence of ignorance in the highest officers of this land. We have only yet to realize the tip of this iceberg.

Vets Abandonment

There is a class action lawsuit working its way through the court initiated by disabled Vets who served in Iraq. The meat of it is simple-The Department of Veterans Affairs failed to provide adequate medical care for the numerous afflictions suffered by these men and women. So far the suit has claimed at least one casualty-Mr. Nicholson, DVA Secretary, resigned and headed for the hills, but is still on the supoena list.

Mr. Bush, acting as a President, instructed US attorneys to argue Veterans were not entitled to mental health benefits which befuddled many of us. Even the DVA agrees that up to 80% of those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan will return with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and this bothers George. Bean counters are always disturbed when more money than necessary has to be spent on what they regard as trivial matters. Again, avidly pursue the war, but forsake those who pursue is the apparent rally cry of this administration.

Mr. Bush delivered a rah-rah speech yesterday again declaring victory in Iraq, but failed to address adequate Veterans medical care. This nation, great as it is, began developing a forsaking reputation towards Vets during the Vietnam War and extended it though Desert Storm to now the current conflicts. He and his minions do not seem to understand not only the human suffering involved, but also the impact upon the families. As one who understands the words abandonment and betrayal by the government, a whole generation is now developing even more distrust of the government which equates even lower enlistment rates. What can one expect when GIs are treated like numbers and then discarded when their usefulness is expended.

It is sad our nation has come to this, but signs were there all along-the tsunami, hurricane Katrina, etc. Mr. Bush hesitated, procrastinated and finally decided to help after thousands had suffered or lost their lives. Mark my words, it will eventually come to the point where attorneys will accompany prospective recruits to insure adequate clauses for medical treatment are part of enlistment contracts. This administration spends over a billion dollars monthly in Iraq, but cannot afford to assist a former combat veteran with an affliction costing only a small amount.

George Bush should have been drafted, served in Vietnam and then returned home to negativity not only from many, but the government as well. Perhaps, then he would have learned respect not only for our Nation's Active Duty/Veterans, but also for basic human values. Instead he went AWOL for up to 18 months while in the National Guard after losing his flight status and encrusted himself in cynicism. We should all hang our heads in sorrow over the treatment of our Veterans particularly for those 150 Vets committing suicide weekly-the greater number of which are National Guard who served in the war and then were shuffled out before disability claims could be tendered. The Bush Administration and Pentagon saved that money at the expense of this Nation's soul.

The Fault Lies In The Stars

Read an essay today on the amount of anger present in Europe regarding the US waging war in Iraq. Understandably, Europeans have seen more than their share of warfare since time immemorial, but anger over Iraq initially puzzled me.

Each nation has its own identity usually drawn from several generations of peace, war and internecine violence. Some, however, reach a stage where the identity becomes opaque and internal acts (usually violence) are necessary to clarify. Germany, for example, went through a horrific experience during the Nazi period and for the most part, has reached atonement for national actions. Seemingly, atonement is the key to finding some type of national identity compromise.

Our nation, beautiful as it is, has never found atonement for the Native American extermination, the minority experience, Vietnam and lastly, Iraq among others. Some presidents have ventured forth with partial apologies or rolled back the national archives for academicians to research. For the most part, we hide our heads in the sand and pretend none of it occurred.

Bill O'Reilly would rather deny the plight of Veteran homelessness (reaching nearly 200,000 nightly) than have an earnest discussion of plausible solutions. The Veterans Administration denied vehemently effects of chemical contamination in Vietnam, chemical/biological and nuclear (depleted uranium) related illnesses during Desert Storm and now, in conjunction with the Army, stymied mental health treatment for Iraqi/Afghani Vets.

We have to ask ourselves what type of nation denies humanitarian treatment for not only those inflicted upon, but the very US troops fulfilling the military mission. What have we become when the PR spin is more important than treating those who pay the cost of military actions.

Our nation has not come to terms with the Native American or minority experience; refuse to look Vietnam in the eye though some fine historians and monographs have been produced; and are reluctant to admit the Iraq conflict was preemptive based upon manufactured falsehoods. More so, we refuse to contemplate the number of dead Iraqis or Afghani civilians killed by our military or Blackwater.

Why, then, do disabled GIs have to suffer for a flaw in our national psyche? Probably for the same reason, Bill O'Reilly, George W. Bush Jr, etc., live in a fantasy world where everything is the way they say it is. No one really challenges and if they do, the rough and tough O'Reilly or President Bush is there to intimidate. Americans do not like the truth until it is force fed to them and then they are mad as hell.

Ask these questions of our presidential candidates and see their response. It's about time, but remember the fault lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

The John McCain Spin

Well, well, well......the politicos are rolling and as usual, the people take back seat. Fred and Rudy have withdrawn and John McCain seems to be the Republican frontrunner. John McCain, the alcohol industry's best friend and avoider of anything resembling a Vietnam Vet is trying to convince us he is the man!!!

Those of us in Arizona realize McCain came to this state as a carpetbagger merely to be elected to the House of Representatives. He quickly became best friends with Charles Keating Jr., CEO, American Continental Corporation, until he was convicted of fraud, et.al., and then John backtracked very fast; discounting all those free vacations, et. al. Much effort was exerted sanitizing McCain from the Keating Five affair, but there were more serious issues.

McCain ignored Vietnam Veterans and their numerous plights to a degree many VietVets came to wonder what he was frightened of. Speaking from my own experience, the erstwhile now Senator almost preferred to steer clear of Vietnam Veteran issues as much as he did Vietnam Vets themselves. It was not uncommon to enter his Tucson office, find no one to greet us and even if so, end up waiting awhile to see a staff member. Forget about seeing McCain himself as broken appointments were his mainstay. He liked the hero mantle, but living up to it was difficult indeed since many of us saw through it; and came to openly question his sincerity and honesty. The conclusion was arrived that John McCain had been given things too easily as a result of his Silver Spoon status and was terrified of questioning Vietnam Vets destroying his self conceived legend. Symbolic of McCain was his Tucson Office Veterans Rep attending a community homeless meeting and openly discussing which country club had the better golf course. So much for caring about your brother and sister....I was there when it occurred. By the way, McCain has voted against Veterans bills 27 times indicating he is no friend much less advocate for those who serve.

John McCain's father was a Navy Admiral and of course, John enjoyed the privileges commensurate with being the offspring. In fact, he crashed aircraft during Navy flight training (2) who normally meant being hacked (cut) from the program. He wasn't (surprise!!) and even after being taken prisoner by the North Vietnamese, still enjoyed privileges. John was injured and while other Americans suffered, accepted a surgeon flown in from Moscow to operate on him and him alone. His operation and recuperation was in a Hanoi Officers Hospital....not the run of the mill enlisted shack. Never mind about the obvious violation of the Code of Conduct and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Apparently, he is afraid of those instances of him volunteering for propaganda radio broadcasts to the south (copies are available on the web) and narrating similar movies. Major, major violations of conduct, but he was an Admiral's son.There are other stories emanating from Hanoi Hilton inmates about McCain, but John avoids discussion. He is definitely afraid some of those POWs may open up and sink his legend in his own mind war saga. In fact, he even went so far as to introduce a bill signed into law forbidding public access into prisoner of war records. By the way, McCain admits in his autobiography to giving the enemy military information, but no investigation much less an indictment followed.

McCain zealously denied the existence of any living prisoners of war following the end of hostilities. Again, he went so far as to attack POW advocates including being publicly rude and abrasive to Eleanor Apodaca, sister of a MIA-POW, during her testimony to a senate hearing in which he wasn't even invited. He went to Hanoi several times espousing the No POW line and the only memorable moment was hugging his former North Vietnamese captor.

John divorced one wife while she was ill and married the Beer King of Phoenix's daughter, Cindy Hensley. All his talk about not adhering to PACs seems rather transparent when one examines his record with the alcohol industry. Meanwhile, Cindy became addicted to prescription narcotics while head of a nonprofit, The American Voluntary Medical Team, which supplied these meds to needy children. She ended up in dire trouble with the law for pilfering narcotics out of the AVMT's coffers, but John soft-soaped the entire issue knowing very few would probably remember it in the future. A deal was made with the US Attorney to limit punishment to financial restitution and rehab entry. Meanwhile, those less fortunate would have served jail time. By the way, there is no evidence Cyndy ever went to rehab. It pays to be the Son of And Admiral's spouse.

What better example of McCain flip-flopping than the trashing he took during the 2000 South Carolina primaries by George W. Bush and Turdblossom. Instead of standing up to those leveling accusations about his military career and adopted daughter, McCain caved in. He learned to love his President and hoped everyone would be charmed by his outward show of affection. John McCain is not tough minded; he is confused.

John McCain is captivated by his demons and has earned the discomfort of Arizona voters by forsaking his senatorial duties during the recent presidential bid. His voting record is atrocious due to absences and flip-flopping seems to be his notoriety. Undoubtedly, he wants to be president to avoid the possibility of being voted out of office this next election. Its that serious!!

Should he be President? Judge the record for yourself, but demand full accountability for his past actions. Scrutinize his personal and professional life carefully.....beneath that veneer is another spoiled silver spoon boy whose father resurrected him continually after career demise....sound familiar?

Carrot Top claims he is the love child from a liaison between Rush Limbaugh and Diana Ross.

The presidential campaign became more intense today when John McCain notified everyone he recently discovered Vietnam Veterans that returned from the war. Overcome with amazement, McCain claims he never knew that many existed.

Also presidential candidate Mike Huckabee declared God began talking to him without notice and he was tempted to file a restraining order at first. An aide suggested a dialogue be started and Huckabee has been talking to air since. Mrs. Huckabee states her husband can have as much time as possible conversing with the deity since otherwise would cut into her shopping time.

Madonna is sporting a puffy darkened left eye area and uses shades to cover the injury. No explanation yet for the injury, but inside sources cite a collision between her and her ego as the culprit.

George H.W. Bush, President In A Bubble's Reluctant Father, announced yesterday he will jump off a new naval ship to be named after him. The new vessel, the USS October Surprise, remembers the hefty contribution George gave the American hostages in Iran during the 1979 internment. He, as you may recall, negotiated with the Iranians to hold the hostages until after the election and then Ron Reagan would float big benefits to them. This was indeed done and the hotel bill was paid prior to their release. George only hopes there is enough air for his parachute to open.

Ann Coulter, former brain cell recipient, stated American Army military bases should be named after US officers only and NOT of fantasy. She was upset when the name Fort Bliss appeared in front of her right eye and swore another like this, say Fort Rapture of Camp Ectasy, would never occur in her lifetime. She is teaming up with Phyllis Schafly, former gadfly, to pressure Congress into enacting a Clean Fort Naming Bill. You go gettem, Big Ann!!

Brittany Spears appeared for her deposition and remained in a chair for nearly two hours. Not much of the scrutiny was revealed, but inside sources said she left with the bailiff!

That other bsit! girl, Lindsay Lohan, was capture on video New Years Eve downing some bubbly from even a bottle. Her probation prohibits such and friends stated she immediately called her twelve step alcohol sponsor, Jack Daniels, to report her offense. Keep it straight, Lindsay!!

George Bush Jr. put forth the idea of an economic stimulus to jump start the economy just as soon as he learns the meaning of stimulus. Its over two syllables and difficult to understand.

Dick Cheney, The Indivisible Man, has not been seen for weeks, but there isn't that much concern. Pundits claim Cheney has been water boarding with friends at various overseas prisons he and President In A Bubble established. He is definitely a man who wants all the experience to be found except for the draft, of course,...gee, that was only 5 exemptions he got..and of course, it wasn't one of his priorities.

O'Reilly Sucks Again

Sapo (Spacious and Perverted One) is making news again, but not in the positive frame. Bill, as you know, is a legend in his own mind and simply cannot understand why everyone does not see him that way-divine!

The first involves Sapo attempting to move a Obama employee out of his camera's way through tough talk, name calling and finally physicality. Of course, he immediately went to the air waves to give his side of the story, but unfortunately, the recorded tape told it the way it was. Sapo strikes out in the truth box again and his halo is a bit dimmer

Sapo took a shot as disabled and homeless Veterans as well with a pointed jab at the John Edwards campaign. Naturally, Sapo is a self declared expert since he immediately went to England to avoid the draft after spending time at Marist University. Ironically, he graduated from a Catholic high school at the height of the Vietnam War (1968), enrolled at Marist and then went to England at the same time as Bill Clinton. Sapo didn't return until he was safe and secure from the draft, but is an expert on anything to do with Veterans-duhhhhhhh! By the way, he peddles out the old bad knee theory whenever anyone asks why he wasn't drafted. He talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk.

Sapo also had a problem with a high schooler phoned during the show who corrected his American history. Bill quoted from the Declaration of Independence, but claimed the Constitution as source. The young lady pointed this out to the Bold One, but Bill would not, could not, can't, whatever, acknowledge his error. Its hard to admit fault when you are divine!

So, what does one concede concerning Sapo.....uhmmmmm, I'm thinking.....okay, got it!

Methinks the audacious one is full of it from his pointy little head to his draft evading feet. Sapo is so convinced of his greatness that the next step, santification, has already been met. Being larger than life means one does not need to piddle with life's smaller problems-you just buy your way out of them! It worked for George W. Bush, Dan Quayle, Tom DeLay, Paris Hilton and many others. Sapo's problem, however, is he doesn't know how to keep quiet being so intent on blowing his own horn continuously.

This writer possesses a preference for Sapo to just fade away into the methane gas he creates and retire to raising earthworms instead. He would still be working in the dirt and would at least retain some satisfaction.

Common Sense

Presidential politics is among us and the only consistent commonality with the candidates is the total lack of common sense. The wax figures stand in front of the camera, create sound bytes, occasionally snipe at each other and then run to their campaign managers offstage for better hints to influence voters. What would be nice for a change is someone to admit they are campaigning for the American people with that body's consent to hold office of the people; and not for corporations, special lobby groups, past political hacks and influential foreign powers.

Think of it this way:

a. Illegal immigration-millions of dollars have been spent on the Mexican border in the past three decades--why isn't it working? Why hasn't this administration enforced the immigration laws particularly undocumented workers in certain industries. Simply put-special lobby groups representing the agricultural, defense and other corporations contributed significant amounts of cash into the Bush Campaign. Better for the White House and others to scream about rather than taken an objective approach to enforcing the laws, creating more intelligent foreign policy and pointing out we also have a Canadian border. Wonder how many illegals cross there?

b. The Economy-remember those heady Reagan days in the first tour when he spent with abandon calling it Supply Side Economics and then suddenly realized there was a problem during the second time around. This quasi-Republican president has went above and beyond the call of duty to spend, spend, spend; and loosen the reins of regulation permitting, i.e. the housing industry to propagate sub prime lenders when now are teetering if not already fallen. The credit industry is a mess; housing starts are at an all time low; and economists keep whispering that word "recession" which was originally depression. The Euro has replaced the dollar since it is significantly stronger and other nations have more faith in it.

c. Iraq-The whole situation has confused more Americans than the introduction of New Coke replacing Coke Classic a few years ago. Desperate Housewives could not conceive a more twisted scenario than this being acted out daily with the loss of lives on all sides. Where is the beacon of truth to simply say: how the helll did we get here and how do we get out? The best example is simply this: you are knee deep in alligators biting at you continuously and suddenly you remember your initial objective was to drain the swamp! Lies led us into Iraq and the truth is needed to lead us out.

d. Education-No Child Left Behind should be relabeled Every Child Left Behind. Bush's signal legislation created more accountability, but only for pencil pushers in DC who skew the statistics trying to make the law look good. This administration did not fund states for all the new demands, as promised, and the result is simply teaching students to take the test instead of educating for a lifetime. Teachers are flooding out of the profession since their already overburdened responsibilities were doubled and no pay increase was in sight. Bottom line-the neocons couldn't have done a better job to undermine public education than this. Time to not renew the law and let educators teach.

e. Integrity, Credibility, Honesty, Values.....don't believe this crap about family values. Those who use it as a rally point are doing just that. How can a politician be for family values and not feel the demise of our national integrity with Åbu Ghraib and torture. How can you let an Administration lie us into a preemptive war with Iraq and then not hold them accountable for their actions? America needs to wake up and understand those who currently lead are only interested in this-DOLLARS-and not the sanctity of the American people nor our nation. Certainly not our GIs and Veterans whose healthcare is being disregarded faster than a look of honesty in a politician. How many more Walter Reeds?

Simple way to converse with any elected or appointed official-who,what,why,where,when and then ask if they will place whatever being discussed in writing over their signature. Most won't which only signifies their word is more valueless than teats on a boar.

Time for a ballot box revolution, People, and usher the bums to the door!!

Tears In The Mist

Many are shaken by manner in which Benazir Bhutto met her untimely demise. Ms. Bhutto was a highly educated intellectual who had twice led Pakistan and was seeking a coalition government from the current ruling party. She was fully aware of the danger her high exposure posed to her life, but was willing to continue regardless for a higher purpose-her country. Much disinformation was disseminated over the cause of her death, but It now appears at least three bullets were fired striking her fatally.

The US Government has poured millions into Pakistan which openly admits a massive corruption problem. The issue here is not to chastise an seemingly inept Bush Administration for failing to properly account for these funds, but for ignoring the vision which Ms. Bhutto was propagating. History is rife with those who paid the ultimate price for their principles. These men and women looked beyond the black/white perception our current administration, as well as others, is hopelessly immersed in and proclaimed the beautiful colors to be realized by rising above the gridlock. Ms. Bhutto was looking at a Pakistan the way she wanted it to be and not the way it was regardless of the peril to her own life.

The dedicated minority has always affected the greatest changes in society. Transformation, however, always has a cost and those in opposition defend the status quo with whatever is in easy reach. Our recent history during the Vietnam War saw violence and chaos which rocked the very foundations of our society yet we survived. There are those, and always will be, who seek the "good old days" without elaborating history can never be reversed without cost. The American Public is, as paraphrased from Thomas Jefferson, a great unwashed beast which is peaceful while at rest, but tenacious when awakened.

Confrontation, debate and struggle are healthy for a society until the point of nonsensical violence is reached. The ante is then raised to the bar of survival where the sound of reason is hushed by the cacophony of gunfire. Unfortunately, this nation pushed the bar in Vietnam and currently, Iraq, by selectively ignoring our own arrogance and rigid ideology. Non-recognition of our own history of struggle and invalidating cherished ideals does not justify pre-emptive invasion; nor does perpetuating equivocations to the public about another nation in order to invade. No amount of earth's resources, i.e. oil, gained can eradicate the pain of betrayal on a national level. That is certainly not the America we were brought up to respect.

The United States has lost sight of our own dream; the cherished vision paid for with the blood, sweat and tears of those past. Instead, we rely on short-minded ideologues uttering simple cliches to motivate the masses whether true or not. Ms. Bhutto should be remembered not only for her ultimate sacrifice, but also for the vision her death caused many in this nation to recall. Once again, we have to find our way in the darkness until the American Dream is reborn to its fulfillment. Her unfortunate death has given us the time to pause and realize the decimation of our own national vision. For that alone, we owe her a debt of gratitude. Another bright star is twinkling in heaven this evening and this world citizen says "THANK YOU!"

Ladies and Gentlemen, a news conference has begun to elaborate on the President's plan to convince America he is always right about Iran regardless of what intelligence agencies state, what others proclaim and yadda, yadda, yadda. Dana The Dimple comes to the rostrum:

Dana: Good Morning, Controlled Media. I want to make a brief statement and then open it up for questions.

Dana: Okay, that was the statement, get it!!!; let me consult my color coded chart for good people to select. Done, you there in back, wearing the single tone outfit.

Indiv: Yes, what do you want?

Dana: Ask your question!

Indiv: I'm the janitor, okay.

Dana: Damn chart...uhhhh, the Cuban Missile Crisis is still not relevant. Regardless of what your hear, the President is always right. He says so thus one should believe.

Press: Reputable intelligence agencies in this nation and the world have stated Iran ceased military nuke operations in 2003, yet President In A Bubble continued to rant on World War III and stoke the war fires. How do you explain that?

Dana: He is always right and didn't do any of those things. Let me explain this for your edification (4 syllables). It comes from God to George through me to you. Therefore, these statements are divine in origin and not subject to fallacy. Like, its theocratically cool!!

Press: Are you stating President In A Bubble (PIB) is a prophet?

Dana: Duhhhhhhhhhhh! Took you awhile to figure that one out, Einstein!!!

Press: This is hard to envision since he is so mistake prone. Can you give us something more to validate this revelation?

Dana: Have you ever noticed how Barney (pet dog) always follows in his footsteps and never urinates on White House fire hydrants. Next question....

Press: There are no White House fire hydrants....

Dana: See, the Tribulation has begun and you didn't even notice!!!! Barney works in mysterious ways. No Cuban Missile crisis here or if there ever was one...

Press: Let's get a bit more substantive. Why did the President cite the fear of World War III knowing the Iranians had ceased nuclear activities?

Dana: He's the President and talks with God. I talk to the President sometimes too, but usually when his wife isn't around. Pickles tends to rain on the party and that's when one needs to clarify issues. She's an issue and I'm Dana.

Press: Not sure what that meant, but you didn't answer the question. Please, why did he continue preaching World War III when he knew production had stopped.

Dana: That falls under Executive Privilege between him and God. The Missile Crisis happened in Cuba and you thought I didn't know.

Press: How does one get a straight answer from this administration?

Dana: Oh, Silly....ask a crooked question and then hope for the best!! Time to go since I have to look up someone named Kruschev for my new book on etiquette....

Press: One last question......was the White House involved in the destruction of CIA tapes!

Dana: Of course, not. PIB gets his anti-depressants and alcohol from the House Physician. God told him to take these to develop a clearer picture of the domestic scene and boy, has it ever helped. Bye, now...

Banality of Presidential Elections

Turned on the television a few days ago and observed what appeared to be a group of adults discussing elementary politics. It wasn't intriguing nor stimulating to watch this group play politics with accompanying snideness and questionable intellectuality. Ironically, it was the Democrat or Republican presidential candidate debates-take your choice. So much was said about so little and of course, primary topics of major interest were cautiously avoided. Its the ratings that matter, the right image and not the country or perish the thought, the public for whom they serve.

Most of these candidates could participate in the television program revolving around knowing more than a 5th grader except they would probably lose. So what is it this writer is actually trying to say. The election campaign is a farce....no, no that, though there are moments. More concern exists for favorable segues and building points that for this great nation....no doubt, this is true. In reality, this entire campaign reminds me of high school king/queen of the prom campaigning. Everyone seems to be currying the public only for favorable response rather than delving into the myriad of problems this nation faces.

There was more enthusiasm with Colbert declaring a quasi-candidacy than with many of these individuals; and he certainly discussed far greater issues. This is, indeed, a sad thing to note, but coincides with the demise of American world credibility. How else does one rationalize the staying power of certain names who would have been forced out years ago.

Guiliani-womanizer, questionable financial transactions as Mayor, et. al.

Romney-draft evader, attempting to minimize church-state separation.

McCain-has forsaken Arizona with his senatorial absence, silver spoon youth whose father's rank, Admiral, prevented him from being bounced from Naval flight training after crashing two jets, questionable activities with North Vietnamese while being held as a POW, wife steals drugs from non-profit org she headed and becomes addict-convicted and dried out, his wishy-washy attitude towards Bush even after being attacked by Karl Rove, et. al.

Thompson-back to Law and Order; he needs the writers strike to end for campaign material.

Clinton-difficult to determine a position on many facets.

Obama-has to walk the razor's edge

I'm tired of all of this though the others are far from innocent as well. We are only human beings and susceptible to human foibles. Americans are a forgiving lot, but lost values and common sense would have prevented many candidates from declaring their availability. The quality of candidates has decreased in tune with our national values and no one is shouting from the rooftop for it to stop.

Has Iraq been really discussed? The lies that propelled us into that conflict; the wounded GIs receiving less than adequate healthcare in hospitals resembling the Walter Reed episode; the 120-150 Veteran suicides occurring weekly; the US government becoming a corporate welfare provider to companies like Halliburton; our declining education system; media facets crawling in bed with the White House, et. al. I miss America.

Its banal. Like Alf Landon once said, "I could run on a laundry ticket and beat these bums."
