Happy first day of summer!!

I wanted to say thank you to everyone for the fun gifts. We have already been to Starbucks, planted some herds, and we are headed out to spend our gift card at Sprouts today.

This last year was truly one of the best years I have ever had in 16 years of teaching. Each and every child was wonderful and the parent support was awesome!

I look forward to teaching many of your children and working with you next year. Have a relaxing summer!!

There are some important dates coming up:

*June 4 (2:30-3:15): Dad's and Games- This is a First Grade event. We will be be celebrating Father's Day in the lunch court at Paloma. Bring your favorite board game to play.

*June 7: Family Fun Day at the Park (9:15-12:15): We will be walking to Meadows Park. Parents are welcome to come. Bring snacks and outdoor games to share.

*June 9: Field Day at Paloma: Please wear proper clothing and shoes.

*June 10: Please bring your favorite board game to school.

*June 11: Last Day of School (9:15-11:30): We will be grilling hot dogs and playing games outside. Please don't forget to bring in your donated item. A letter went home last Wednesday.

*There are no Wednesday early dismissals in June. However, June 10th and 11th are both 1:00 dismissals.

We are wrapping up all of our district assessments this week. Also, we will focus on core literature, dinosaurs, and rocks and minerals. Math will continue as usual until the last week.

There are some important dates coming up:

*May 26: Trek for Tech- We run from 9:30-10:00. Please were proper clothing for this event and bring a water bottle!

* May 28: No school: This is a furlough day.

** Parent's Day lunch is this Friday. First grade is 11:45 and second grade is 12:00, however times are very flexible.

** Thank you so much for the birthday gift. I can't wait to get my pedicure over spring break! Also, thank you to Mrs. Marrs for organizing!!

**March 25th: Open House 6:30-7:30 This is a time for your child to show you around our classroom and the work they have done throughout the year. The classroom will be open from 6:30-7:30. However, I will be in the classroom from 6:30-7:10. From 7:10-7:30 I will be visiting my own daughter's first grade classroom. If you would like to see me, be sure to visit the classroom between 6:30-7:10. Thank you in advance for your understanding. :)

**We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Friday, February 12th. At home, your child needs to deign their own valentine box. Please use a shoebox and decorate it with lace, yarn, foil, stickers, etc. Also, be sure to cut a slit on top so that the valentines can go inside, and be sure to put a name on the top so everyone can see.
Also, I would like for the students to pass out valentines. I ask that those students who wish to pass out valentines, pass them out to all students.
