1)First Thing is Safety

You need to protect your self if you are going to do a outdoor activity in an indoor environment. You need proper protection on your body and also you need to be sure that there are nothing in your room that may fall and broke into pieces. So take care of these things first.

2)Wear all your security gears

If you are going to do Archery in home you need to wear a helmet and chest shield, its dont sound great but for you protection you need those or any other tough material on your body. So that if the arrow bounces from some corners then it might hurt you seriously. So you need to take care of this.

3) Find a horizontal space rather then a vertical space.

If you are in a room that is not that big but the top is big then that room is not good for you . You need a long room if you want to do Archery at home. A long horizontal room will give you the same feeling that you do in the field. Having a long room also ensure that the arrow will not bounce back and hit you from back.

4) Find a good Target

There can be so many things available in your house that you can use as a target like a juice can, a pillow, books, boxes etc. Its on you what you choose as target. So choose only that things in which arrow can dig inside otherwise there will be more chances for it to bounce back.

5) Protect your eye

This is the most important thing for you to protect. If you don't protect you will lose your one important sence. You can use any goggles or any type of glasses that fits you. Dont use any cheap Glasses.

In this hard time its very difficult to practice archery because of the current covid situation and we even not allowed to go outside to practice archery because of several lockdown in various part of the world even at some place its fully restricted to go outside and do any physical activity.

1) SANITISE YOUR EQUIPMENT

You have been using equipment from so many days even years so its important for you to clean your equipment before you use it again.You have to sanitise it well so that all the virus on it die before coming in contact to any other people.

2) Wear Double Mask if Going outside

“When you're not aiming, it's safest to keep your bow in the shade,” Bernardo adds.

7) Avoid Being In Sun Light

There are so many things to learn about the various styles of archery arrows available. I'll try to give you the fundamentals to help you grasp the nuances between them so you can pick the best ones for you.

The first thing you should know about arrows is that they are incredibly critical to your precision. You can't just target something with a bow and expect good success. To achieve the best effects, arrows must be uniquely calibrated to each bow. I don't want to make it sound too confusing, but there are certain things you should know in order to get the correct arrows.

So i mentioned some of the basic things that you should must know :-

Arrow spine

The term "arrow spine" refers to the stiffness of an arrow. When you release an arrow from the bow, it compresses and bends a little or a lot. You'll want to align the spine of the arrow to the goal. Compound bows usually prefer stiffer arrows, while conventional bows prefer more resilient arrows. Don't worry, nearly all vendors will have a map to assist you in selecting the correct arrow.

Balance

The weight of an arrow is usually weighed in grams. Weight may be added to the arrow, subtracted from it, and shifted from front to back. Moving and shifting weight can have an impact on how the arrow moves and how it deals with obstacles. You've always heard the phrase weight forward of middle, or FOC. If you're only going to aim at the archery range, you only need to practise on the balance of the arrow a little, so if you're going out, you'll want to spend some time making sure your arrow has the highest penetration possible.

Fletching

The majority of fletchings are composed of plastic vanes, but they may also be made of feathers. These provide arrow stabilisation in the air and allow for high accuracy. Arrows may be fletched to fly straight with or without turning. The only thing you need to note about fletchings is that compounds use strong vanes while conventional bows use feather type vanes.

The nock is the section of an arrow that connects to the back and the line. Nocks are important, but the most important thing is that they simply hold the arrow on the string without being too close or too loose.

An insert is attached to the front end of the arrow which allows you to swap out the arrow tips. Arrows are trimmed to the desired length before being firmly glued in place. Some arrows will have the tip stuck on and will not be able to be modified.

Bow tips are the arrow's pointy business end. Field points, also known as target tops, are commonly seen on arrows at an archery range. Hunting points, also known as broadheads, are used to kill prey and are very risky.

Different types of arrow

Carbon arrow

These arrows are made up of carbon and can be made in a variety of spine shapes. Carbon arrows are especially strong and can withstand a lot of violence, but I don't suggest attempting to abuse them. Carbon bows, unlike most arrows, cannot be repaired. They're finished until they're destroyed. My experience has taught me that if I break a carbon arrow, it will break some other kind as well. Carbon arrows are usually the most costly.

Aluminum arrow

These are hollow and light in weight. Aluminum arrows may be twisted and bent again. If you have a lighter weight bow, aluminium arrows are ideal. These arrows are often usually less costly than carbon arrows. These are a decent option that will fit for most light weight bows.

Wood arrow

A wooden arrow is the most common choice. Wooden arrows are usually made with matching spines and finished in lacquer. Usually, wooden arrows would have feather fletchings and a glue-on tip with no insert. The arrows are available in a variety of price points based on their accuracy. Wooden bows may be curved and then straightened again. These arrows are the simplest to detach.

Fibre glass arrow

Fiberglass arrows are an intriguing choice that can be useful for target practise. They will be sturdy and will have glue on the tip. I've discovered that they are difficult to fold back, but they are very robust. I'm not a fan, but I'm not interested in discussing the advantages of these. They're fine if you're looking for something to fling down the range, but that's about it. They're usually very affordable.

How to shoot a recurve bow for beginners

A correct stance is important for composure, balance, and pointing, as well as drawing and releasing the bowstring without hurting yourself. The Square Stance and the Open Stance are two easy and familiar archery stances to begin with.

Square Stance

Place your feet shoulder width apart and on both sides of the firing line in the square stance. Make sure your left foot is ahead of your right foot and perpendicular to the goal.

Open Stance

Taking a half-step backward with your left foot in the open stance, pointing it gently towards the goal. When standing on slanted terrain, this is the best choice.

Placing the arrow

Place the arrow, kept in your right hand, on the arrow rest on the left side of your bow. Place the arrow so that the index fletching is pointing away from the bow. Insert the arrow's nock between the finger guides into the bowstring.

Making Better Grip with Bowstring

The Mediterranean Draw is the most popular method of hooking the bowstring. Place the index finger on the upper finger-guide and the other two fingers on the lower finger-guide with three fingers. Hooking the string with the first joints of your fingers is the easiest method. Avoid fist-sized grips on the string or pinching the arrow.

Angling the bow

Grip the bow so that the handle lies between the palm and thumb on the big padded back. The intention is to force the bow into position rather than hold it tightly. If the knuckles form a 45-degree angle to the middle line of the bow, you're handling the bow correctly.

Rotating Elbow

Grabbing the bow accurately is important for proper arm rotation. If you grip too hard, your forearm will rotate in line with the bow string, which will hurt if you are not wearing an arm protector. Your elbow should point away from you and your forearm should clear the string if your arm is correctly rotated.

Shooting Postures

Bring your left arm to shoulder height and hook the bow string to prepare your target. When you draw the arrow out, keep the right elbow high and in line with the arrow. The back muscles are perfect for drawing the bow. Consider rubbing your shoulder blades together; relying solely on your muscles will exhaust you.

Leaving the arrow

The arrow should be released slowly and smoothly. Relax the right hand and gently pull it back until the bowstring falls between your fingertips. Following the release of the string, continue to relax your hand until it hangs by your ear to complete your shot. During the follow-through, the bow will automatically tip forward a little.

What should I join archery or rifle shooting?

Shooting :- Shooting sports is a collective group of competitive and recreational sporting activities involving proficiency tests of accuracy, precision and speed in shooting

Does Shooting And Archery Require same Skills?

Both are different sports but both require same Skills like Focusing on target , getting a clear view on target , positioning yourself , Adjusting the firing mechanism where it is a Gun or a bow.

But here's a twist, by learning Archery doesn't mean you will get all the skills of Archery or vice versa both are different things but are same at some points. You need different training set for both of them.

If you have Practice well in archery go for archery camps and tournaments dont focus on other sports or anything like that because it will hamper your practice that you have done and learned.

If you are good in shooting and if you have Practiced shooting earlier then go for shooting rifles competitions.
