Designer Looks for Less: Affordable Transitional Neutral Area Rugs

Whether you're going for a more casual look, or a formal one, I've got you covered!

Rugs are one of my very favorite home accessories- they can add immense character, movement, texture and coziness to a room + they add that final designer touch!

Picking out rugs can be a little tricky. There are so many colors, shades, textures, price ranges, and patterns to chose from; it can be overwhelming. If you are remodeling a room, some designers say to start with a rug you love and design around it with your paint colors, furniture, etc.

If you just need a new rug to go with an existing design, I recommend taking any textile samples from your room (pillows & draperies), along with any paint and carpet swatches you may have when you go to pick one out.

If you buy online, I highly recommend reading all reviews and buy with the expectation you may need to return it. Every screen/monitor is different, so your rug may look different when it arrives. Be sure you know the return policy before purchasing.

Holiday Home: Gleeful Green

Back in the 90's I remember begging my parents to paint our bathroom forest green lol!

I was obsessed with the dark rich hue. Anyone else? A little while later, green carpet was installed in the basement, and I can't tell you how many neighbors came over to see it and decided to go green too 💚

I'll never forget when Home Alone came out and how crazy I was for the house in that movie. Decorated ceiling to floor in traditional reds and greens, it was so pretty.

Over the last couple of years, green has been making a come back, and I'm loving it!

Elle Decor predicts green will be back in 2018 in even edgier palettes. It doesn't surprise me.

Today I'm sharing some green inspo + a holiday mood board featuring green and how to "get the look".
