RUN GIRLFRIEND...RUN! 5k Race

Today was our race in Sandy OR.

And of course the rain did show up!!

at the cold,wet line up..just before the fun BEGINS!!

We got some great goody bags and this years shirts are Pink!! Love❤

Considering the rain I had a pretty good race. I did not have to walk at all and I finished 48th out of 252!! Yeah me!! And I was so proud ... My girlfriends finished with great standings too. We all made the first I'd three pages for our times!

Thanks girlfriends!!

Pigs on a wing!!

So a couple weeks ago some of my girlfriends saw this Groupon for a painting class and a drink for a great price. We decided why not and signed up. I went to the website and each night or week there was an option different themes etc. but trying to mesh five busy moms schedules is always fun and we ended up with "Pigs on a wing!! "

Here are a couple paintings I saw while getting ready to start ours!! I love the POPPIES !!!

The class begins by the paint instructor showing us how to draw the painting in a different color paint. A sketch of some sort.

Arriving there we received our instructions to get an apron and some paints, brushes, our drinks and find a seat infront of your canvas and easel. As I got my tools I look around at faces and are there are all ages here and men,women of varying ages.

This is great environment for people watching.

Using acrylics, they dry fast. Early on I the thought process I decided I am not wanting to do pigs. I wanted to do chickens but after I began they kind if turned into chickadees or sparrows. So I went with it.

The best part is to be looking around the class. There were lots of different interpretations of the pigs and I even saw one artist that did flying monkeys. (Wizard of Oz) some were perfect, some were sketchy but still very very creative!!

And to quote my friends " I do not paint" and at the end they were saying " I painted that and it really looks like pigs"! Yeah!!!

This was a fun evening!! If you are looking for something different to so with your spouse or just just friends I suggest it!!

This weekend was Ashlee's first softball game. And as it turned out the first team they played was her cousin Donny's team!! Yeah!! Here are some great shots of the kids!!!

New Hampshire travel pages

This last week I was able to go out to the East coast and explore some of the great countryside I spent 3 days in Portsmouth NH and discovered great places to eat and to see. I saw the Lighthouses of New Hampshire, only three to be exact. They do not have a lot of coast line. I also some some in Maine.. just over the state line in York Maine.

(I have some made up some summary pages of my visit .. I took so many pictures I can make a whole scrapbook just from them!)

My first day I was on foot through the town of Portsmouth. I love how it was so accessible and easy to tour around without the worry of getting lost or turned around. The first page here is some photos of the sites I saw that day in Portsmouth.

The next day we were able to travel into Vermont to Waterbury and visit a famous brewery. Home of the Heady Topper Beer. Alchemist Cannery. They are a small brewery and only brew one beer right now and what they do brew... is SO good. On the top beers in the world list. Eric was so excited to go here. Then just across the way from this cannery was the Ben & Jerry Ice Cream, we had to stop there and see the flavors they had to offer. On the route back we went down 101 hwy through Orange County to see 6 covered bridges. The oldest was built in 1879... so neat to see all of them... it was a great day on the road.

My last day I was able to go to New Castle Island and see the lighthouses of New Hampshire and then also traveled just over the Maine border to York and Nubble Lighthouse. The view was Amazing and so were the lighthouses.

I feel so lucky to have been able to travel east with my husband on his work travel. I had a great time and cannot wait to visit again.

Teddy Bear Parade with MOMS Club 2013

Thanks to the Great weather and all the MOMS and kids that came out for the parade today! We had a great time!

Some of the moms in attendance: Kayla A (with her mom and Emma of course), Liz H ( and her two daughters) Carol E. and Madison, Stephanie T and her two girls, Julie S and two of her girls plus friends, Alice E. and her daughter, Ann P. and Sawyer. Hope I did not forget anyone! Thanks again Ladies for a great parade!

We even got to partake in some after parade activities such as pony rides and carnival rides... The Ferris wheel was super HOT today!!! Sawyer also found some of the rides to be just right for him too!

Today was Ashlee's 7th Birthday party! we went somewhere new... Ceramic Cafe! Get your paint brushes ready!

They all picked out something to paint... and then... let the creative juices take OVEr!!!...

Sawyer and Chase both got some help from their Dad to fulfill their creativeness... turned out unique for sure :)

Sawyer sure painted her Elephant fast... she is a natural at this!

Ashlee and Anna really taking this seriously... their projects came out Great!

After the painting... they all got to sing Happy Birthday... and Cupcakes!! Ashlee blew out her candle so fast I did not have a chance! LOL

They sure did disappear fast... must of been a lot of chocolate goodness!

Nest up is the gift opening... I was so impressed with the creative gifts that Ashlee got! She really liked them all! This one is beads that you can pop together to make bracelets, necklaces and lots of crafts.

Aunt Em made a neat PJ gown for Ashlee...she LOVED it and wore it tonight :) Thanks to all that came to the party and made Ashlee's birthday so great!!

The Big 7 already?!!

The 1st of May!! It is Happy May DAY and also my baby's birthday!!

The weather was absolutely amazing so I decided that we needed to visit the Tulip Fields one last time for the season! was a great day for a birthday!

There was still lots of color to be seen in the fields and we got a discount per car load since the season is close to an end! Score!

It is so amazing to me that Ashlee has grown oh so much.... just look at these two photos!!

They also talked me into the cow or wooden shoe ride... and wow was that BUMPY!!! ugh...where is my pillow?!!

Today was a great day for the Portland Zoo!! The weather was great and we got to see LOTS of animals...

Ashlee finally got herself a Fact Key today so... she was the expert on the exhibit knowledge :)

Oh yeah and we could NOT leave out the FARM... and tractor!!

I think she may be ready to RIDE ?!!

Saw the Elephants... onto Africa...

Wooden Shoe Tulip Fields...

for the past 5 years I have visited the tulip fields.. I look forward to this trip each spring. I know when the tulips are ready, it is finally SPRING!

I remember coming here just my sister and I before we had kids, now look they are 7,5,and 3... and I really enjoy bringing my kids to see the colors and to play on the rides and cow train!

Sawyer found him some needed mustachs! haha

I also enjoy that my Aunt and cousins have made it a yearly trip over to my house to come to the tulips with me too! It is such a great weekend to look forward too!
