🎶 It's been a while!🎶

2020-11-03T09:17:00.002-08:00

Hey y'all! I cannot believe it's been 6 years since I last made a blog post! 😱

Life has changed so much since I last spoke to y'all! We moved to Tennessee back in Dec 2015, got two new kitties, Nox and Hadouken, the kids are way too big now (10 and 6), and both Steven and I have stay at home jobs! I work with Color Street as an independent stylist, and Steven works as customer service for Comcast! 🙌

I still crochet on the side for friends and family, but my main focus has been my Color Street business! If you'd like a free two finger tester, let me know in the comments! 🥰

I'm going to try and keep this updated because I really do miss writing! Until next time, I hope y'all have an amazing day, and blessed be! 🌛🌝🌜

Long Time, No See!

2014-12-08T14:12:00.002-08:00

I know it's been a very long time since I've posted on here, but a lot has been going on in the past year! I graduated college with my A A last May, started work at an animal hospital, got pregnant in January, and had to leave my job in July due to complications and had my daughter Kaleigh on Halloween! Phew, I know, a very busy year! Also, since I'm attempting the WAHM thing again, I have teamed up with my sister with her crochet business to help us both out with traffic to our pages and to help support our families of course! I help with her Facebook page and blog as well, so I encourage you all to go visit her on Facebook here and go visit her blog, Bambies Bows here. We are currently having a neat little giveaway going on over there! Thank you everyone for your continuing support, and i promise there are a lot more new and exciting things to come!

Pain-Free with Dr. Scholl's® For Her Ball of Foot Inserts!

2013-06-19T10:48:00.002-07:00

I was so excited to be receiving my Something Blue VoxBox complimentary from Influenster, I was running to the mailbox every day eagerly awaiting its arrival! When it finally came in, it was a cute little pink box sitting on my bed with my name on it, just begging to be opened.

My Something Blue VoxBox

One of my favorite items that I received in my VoxBox was the Dr. Scholl's® For Her Ball of Foot shoe inserts. Man, oh man, do these babies help when you want to go out for a night on the town in some cute heels, and I will also be using them for my shoes in my best friend's wedding as well as my own wedding. Although I don't have the shoes for either occasion yet, here is a couple pictures of the shoes that I was able to use them in.

I haven't been able to wear these in years!

AHHHH!!!!! So Comfy!

So that was the fun part, here is some info on Dr Scholl's Ball of Foot inserts from the product page on the Influenster website:

Dr. Scholl's® For Her Ball of Foot Cushions are engineered to prevent ball of foot pain in any women’s shoe, so you don’t have to sacrifice fashion for comfort. Their unique gel provides cushioning and absorbs shock, and slim design prevents feet from sliding forward and helps you avoid toe scrunch.

Everything is so true about these inserts, but I won't keep blabbing on about them, I'll let you be the judge.

**I received these items complimentary in exchange for my true, honest opinion of the product. My opinions are my own, and I was not given any monetary compensation for my review.**

Disney, and other updates!

2013-04-09T18:39:00.002-07:00

Good Evening Ladies and Gents,
In light of everything that has been going on in our busy lives lately, I am so excited to say that we will be going on our first official Disney Parks vacation May 8-12!! Words cannot express the joy I hold in my heart to finally be able to take Kriztofer to Disney World for the first time! Granted we've gone to Orlando a couple times, but never had the funds available to go to the parks, so this is a really big deal for my fiance, my parents, Kriztofer's godfather, and myself. We cannot wait to see the look on his face when he gets to meet all of the characters he adores in person, and when we can finally tell him we are on our way to Disney World!

Ever since we told him a couple of months ago that we will be taking him to Disney World for his birthday, the Disney World commercials have become a really big deal for him! If he sees the commercial, he stops what he's doing, gets excited, jumps up and down, and shouts "that's where I'm going for my birthday! We're going to Disney World, (whoever is with him-name here), for my birthday!" I love the excitement he displays, especially for a 2 going on 3 year old who has never experienced the Disney Parks before!

So, I just wanted to let you all in on that exciting bit of information, on top of my graduation for my AA in Pre-Veterinary Medicine May 3, on top of me already having a job set in place at a local, well-known animal hospital the day we come back from Disney, ON TOP OF the April Showers Giveaway that's on The Pagan Mommy on Facebook. That by the way is running until April 30, so click here to get your entries in!

Well, I will leave you all to your dreams for the night, Blessed Be, and as always, Keep It Magickal! )o(
Love,
Vairde

February 2, Oh Why Must You Torment Me!

2013-02-02T17:30:00.002-08:00

So February 2 has always been a pretty intense day for me. For as long as I can remember, every year on Feb 2, I cry. Why you ask? Because Feb 2 is my grandmother's birthday, the one who I was closest to as a child, the one who past away when I was only 4 years old. I learned a lot about death that day, more than any 4 year should should know, or even be able to comprehend at that age. And though I welcome the groundhog, and celebrate Imbolc, I still cry over the passing of my grandmother.

The memories are what flood my mind the most, and the thought that always plagues me is that although I know she is always looking after me, she isn't here in the physical form to celebrate with us all that we have accomplished over the years. She'll never get the chance to hold my son in her arms, she won't be able to be there to congratulate me when I get my college degree, she won't be there to hug me when I get married...All of these thoughts bring me to tears, and I replay the moment she was buried in my head, over and over, with every year that passes, no matter what I do.

She was so young, just shy of 41 when she passed....

My grandmother was one of the most amazing women in the world, she was always there for everyone, even if it meant going out of her way to help, she never hesitated to do it. She was the glue that held our family together, and when she passed away, the glue slowly dissolved, and eventually everyone went their separate ways, even as far as leaving to other parts of the country.

My grandmother and my grandfather..She was his entire world,
quite literally. When she passed, he was more than devastated,
and he went to a dark place within himself for a very long time.

I know within myself that this day will never be different for me, that my love for my grandmother and sorrow from her passing will never dwindle in the slightest, but I'm ok with that. As long as I hold on to the good memories along with the bad memories, I can live with crying my eyes out once a year. I will leave you with this poem that every time I hear or read it my thoughts always turn to her:

My Grandmother

In my Rose Garden of memories
I see you standing there
An angel in disguise
Who taught me how to care
I long to hear your voice
for real not in my dreams
I am missing you so much these days
how empty my world seems
People say time heals all wounds
that someday the pain will subside
But Grandma I can tell you
I think they must have lied
The emptiness I am feeling now
is strong and I am weak
These days go by without you
so dreary and so bleak
In my Rose Garden of memories
I know you'll always be
for though you're gone
from this mortal world
In my heart you'll always be.

Sorry to sadden you all, I hope you all have a great evening! Keep it magickal always!

Palmolive Fresh Infusions Dish Soap Review and Giveaway!

2013-01-21T15:00:00.002-08:00

I had the pleasure of testing the brand new Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish soap thanks to Influenster and Palmolive! I was so excited when my box arrived, but I never would have expected to receive 3 full sized bottles of this amazing dish soap! Here is the statement from the Palmolive website:

Just like the best recipes, the freshest scents and elegant simplicity are what inspires us in the kitchen. Taking cues from nature, we created inviting, naturally inspired fragrance blends- and combined them with the sparkling clean you've always trusted from Palmolive dish liquid.

My box of Palmolive Fresh Infusions from Influenster!

I'm always a skeptic when it comes to dish soap because if it's watery from my experience, it will not be sudsy at all, or it won't clean the dishes properly. With Palmolive Fresh Infusions, not only do you need but a dime-sized amount of soap to do a considerable amount of dishes, but it makes a nice bit of suds and the smell is simply aroma-therapeutic!

Dime-sized amount of soap on sponge
(Don't worry, that's coffee residue!)

After cleaning a few dishes, there are
still plenty of suds left on the sponge!

I can never stand the smell of the sponges after washing dishes because they end up smelling like grease and after a while the grease not only sticks to the sponge, but it sticks to the dishes and your hands as well. With Palmolive Fresh Infusions, I no longer have to worry about that revolting smell and greasiness again! After testing the soap out on my greasiest pots and pans, the sponge still smelled fresh, and each dish looked as if they were washed with their own sponge individually!

This mountain of suds was made with
only a quarter-sized amount of soap!

My favorite part of this experience was smelling the delicious scents of each soap. It was my favorite part because these are my ultimate favorite scents in general, especially the White Tea and Ginger!

Me and my White Tea and Ginger soap!

After all was said and done, I can definitely say, this testing experience has been one of my favorites! Thank you so much Influenster and Palmolive! If you want to pick up a few bottles for yourself, these amazing soaps are being sold exclusively at Walmart and Target for only $2.99!!

Me smelling the Lime Basil soap!

Enter for a chance to win ONE (1) coupon
for $1.50 off one bottle of Fresh Infusions!

Now for the best part for you all, my amazing readers! I am giving away 4 of the coupons that I received to 4 lucky readers! Just fill out the Rafflecopter Form below to enter!

Disclaimer: I made this review in exchange for testing the products from Influenster, there were no monetary rewards involved.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Yule!

2012-12-12T14:40:00.003-08:00

Good evening, Ya'll! I know it's been a while, but we've been busy busy over here, what with me finishing up the fall semester and crocheting my lil heart out, plus Kriztofer-Aiden in school and out of school on account of him being a sick, cranky toddler, and the hubby doing tattoos on and off, on top of looking for a 9-5 job, so I haven't had much time to be on here, and I apologize to you all for that! Good news is I have almost 4 weeks off until Spring semester starts, so I will be making appearances on here much more often!

The crochet business has been a little slow, but I have managed to produce a decent amount of inventory for the Winter Fest at my mom's church this Saturday, December 15, and if you live near Fort Pierce, Florida, I suggest coming on down, they will be having a bunch of stuff for the kids to do, as well as the adults! Also, there is a giveaway going down on the Facebook page, it ends December 15, so get your entries in now over at The Pagan Mommy!!

Click the Link above for the giveaway!

My biggest project as of late! A Baby Blanket!

On another note, Yule is coming up fast, we have our tree up and decorated, and we have certainly decked the halls, and walls, inside and out! This being one of my favorite holidays, I love to go all out when it comes to gifts and decorations, we love doing homemade gifts, as well as tricky ones, we do things like double wrap the presents, or if a gift has multiple parts, we hide the parts around the tree or around the house, and we make a game of it, just to make the tradition a little more fun and intriguing! The alter is also decorated for the holiday with my fir branches and my red altar cloth!

Kriztofer decorating the tree for the 1st time!

Yuletide Blessings to all this magickal season!

Our tree and fireplace look so perfect together!!

Our beautiful tree!

If I haven't made it apparent enough, I love December!!! On top of Yule, it's my Birthday, and well as many other events, December is certainly a busy and fun filled month for us, and is always the greatest end to the year! Well, that's all I have to tell you for now, be on the lookout for many other posts from me in the coming weeks, there might be a giveaway coming up soon! *hint hint*

As always, keep it magickal, and Blessed Be!! )o(

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins

2012-11-13T16:01:00.000-08:00

I had the opportunity to test the Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins thanks to Goody and Influenster in the Beauty Blogger VoxBox! These little magic pieces of metal are the most amazing hair styling products ever created! When I first saw them, I thought to myself that there was no way that these little spiral pins will be able to hold my hair up because it is so long (waist length).

As you can see, I was wrong. The Spin Pins held my hair up seamlessly, and you can't even see them! I gave them the ultimate test, first by shaking my head, they didn't fall out, and my hair didn't fall, they passed test 1 with flying colors! Second test, I kept them in the pigtails for the rest of the day, I went out and ran errands, cleaned the house, ran around with my son, ya know, daily stuff. I forgot the spin pins were in my hair, until I laid down to go to bed and realized my hair was still up, and even more amazing, still intact. Not one strand of hair had came loose and best of all, my hair looked like it hadn't been touched. Needless to say, these little pins have become my favorite hair styling product, and they are used on a daily basis! Thank you so much Influenster and Goody!

Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Cream

2012-11-13T15:40:00.001-08:00

I was given the chance to test out Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Anti-Frizz Cream, thanks to Not Your Mother's and Influenster in the Beauty Blogger VoxBox! This cream first off has the most amazing coconut scent, thanks to the coconut oil in the cream. The smell is the first thing that attracted me to the cream, and because of how frizzy my hair is, I especially was hesitant to believe that this cream is truly anti-frizz.

As you can see in the picture above, I only applied the cream to the top of my hair because my hair was already pulled up, but it worked great! The back of the bottle suggested to put the cream in when your hair is damp, but even with dry hair the cream worked wonders. My hair was very soft, smooth, and shiny, and I went outside in the Florida heat to test the cream out against the humidity, and when I came back home after being out almost all day, I came home, and my hair was still intact, with no flyaways! I can definitely see myself purchasing this hair product indefinitely. Thank you Not Your Mother's and Influenster for introducing me to my new favorite hair product!

Bath and Body Works Cider Lane Fall Mini Candle

2012-11-13T15:01:00.005-08:00

I had the pleasure of testing out a Bath and Body Works mini fall candle, Cider Lane, thanks to Bath and Body Works, and Influenster's Beauty Blogger VoxBox! I at first didn't expect for such a small candle to have such a strong scent, but I knew I was wrong when I opened the VoxBox and the smell of pumpkin goodness hit my nose! This little candle is amazing! The smell was a mixture of pumpkin, cinnamon, and fresh cider, and it was extremely strong! I placed the candle in my living room because that's where most of the family spends their time, and I wanted to get everyone's opinion on the scent.

Within minutes of me lighting the candle, the scent started filling the room, and everyone that walked into the living room questioned where the smell was coming from. My hubby asked who was cooking pumpkin pie, and when I told him it was the candle that was letting off the scent, even he was surprised, and he enjoyed the scent very much, and he isn't one for candles at all. After about 15 minutes, the scent not only filled the living room, but it traveled down the hallway and into the dining room as well.
Needless to say, I wasn't able to take advantage of the coupon that I received with the candle, but I will certainly be purchasing this scent again, it has become my new signature fall scent for my home. Thank you Influenster and Bath and Body Works for allowing me to test such an amazing product!

Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012

2012-11-13T14:47:00.000-08:00

I am so excited to share with you all my experience with my second VoxBox from Influenster, The Beauty Blogger VoxBox! I had a ton of amazing goodies, and even though I couldn't eat any of it (shucks) I still had a blast trying everything out! So here is the breakdown of everything I received!

The first picture of my eyes is a picture of the NYC New York Color All in One Eye shadow palette! The palette comes with 3 different colors, a primer, and an illuminator. I have always wanted to get the smoky eye look, and with this palette, I can do it! In the picture below I have used the illuminator on the black eye shadow on my brow bone, and it completely changed the shade and added sparkle, which I LOVE!

NYC New York Color Eyeshadow. I was finally able to achieve the smoky look on my eyes that I've always wanted!

The next product, pictured below was the Bath and Body Works fall candle, Cider Lane, which I was most excited about because I love candles! The scent was amazing, and man does that little candle pack a punch! Within minutes of me lighting the little wonder, the entire living room was filled with an amazing pumpkin cinnamon scent, and it lingered into the hallway and dining room as well. And after having it lit for a couple hours a day for 3 consecutive days, there is still enough left to light for another few hours!

My Bath and Body Works Fall Cider Lane Candle!

The next product that I tested was Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Anti-Frizz Hair Cream! First off, the smell is amazing! The coconut oil definitely is made apparent as soon as you open the bottle, and since you use the cream while your hair is damp, it doesn't require more than maybe a quarter sized amount, and that's saying a lot for my hair considering it's down to my waist! Best of all, my hair is now Frizz Free! Not even the humidity of Florida has been able to cause flyaways like I used to deal with on a daily basis. Overall, this product is a lifesaver if you have frizzy hair!

No more frizzy hair for me!

Now for another amazing product, that worked well with the Smooth Moves cream, were the Goody Spin Pins! These little metal spirals of hairdo goodness have been a godsend for me! As you can see in the next two pictures below, I am able to do a variety of things with these little guys, and you can't even tell they are in my hair! I was hesitant at first to believe that such small items could hold up my hair which as I said before, is down to my waist, but when the spin pins were in place, I gave my head a shake, and to my surprise, my hair didn't fall! I wore my hair in the pigtails for the rest of the day, and when I went to bed that night, I forgot they were even in my hair, and needless to say, not only did they hold my hair up all day, but nary a stray of hair was misplaced!

Goody Spin Pin Style #1

Goody Spin Pin Style #2

The last item in my VoxBox were the Kiss artificial lashes, which are not pictured, unfortunately didn't work out for me. I followed the directions, and I was super excited to try them because the last time I tried artificial lashes, they didn't stick at all. These seemed easy enough, but I just couldn't keep my eyes still enough to apply them, and when I started to get the first one on it was too high, and just looked odd. I will try them again one day because I am not a quitter, and I really would enjoy the look of fuller lashes, but this time just wasn't my shot.

Overall all of the products I received from Influenster and the above brands were amazing, and I had such a fun time playing dress up with my new products! Thank you to Influenster, Bath and Body Works, Kiss, Not Your Mother's, and Goody, for an amazing experience with the Beauty Blogger VoxBox!

On the Verge of Change

2012-09-04T08:39:00.002-07:00

Edible finger paints I made for Kriztofer-Aiden, my 2 yr old son!

So much as been happening lately, I don't even know where to start!

Krochet Me Krazy is starting to see more customers, but unfortunately not making enough revenue yet :( Here are some of the most recent creations:

Two Slytherin Bracelets I made for a customer in Schenectady, NY! I didn't have gray or silver, so I made it black and green with a silver S.

Griffindor headband with buttons

Purple and white muti-colored hat for a customer in Buffalo, NY!

Other angle of the Griffindor headband with buttons!

The Pagan Mommy on Facebook has almost 500 likes, which is AWESOME, and we have opened up a Facebook store for Krochet Me Krazy, so hopefully that will pick up soon!

The full "blue" moon was AH-MAZING! We performed 4 different rituals that included our Full Moon Ritual, a Blue Moon Ritual, A Wishing Well Spell and a Moon-Charming spell for a lucky talisman. We went to the beach for the ritual and it was so beautiful! The best part besides the ritual itself, was when a group of people were on the beach watching us prepare for the ritual and they called the cops on us. The officer came out and asked us what we were doing, and when we told him we were performing our full moon ritual, he said "oh, you're witches! Enjoy the full moon!" And as he was leaving, he made the gawking group of people leave the beach. That was just a sign to us, letting us know that the night was going to be awesome, and it totally was! Minus not being able to keep the candles lit because of the wind, the ritual itself was so refreshing and renewing, I knew the Blue Moon was going to bring many new and fulfilling things to our lives! So as a closing we thanked the Moon Goddess, The Almighty Goddess and God from above, and enjoyed our Blue Moon feasting on the beach! Needless to say, after everything that night, life has never felt so uplifting!

View of the Blue Full Moon! I'm still amazed by the way the clouds formed!

Aside from all of this, little things have been happening here and there, and hopefully things will start revealing themselves, and I will be able to share them all with you. In the meantime, Blessed Be, and as always, Keep It Magickal!! )o(

My Thoughts on Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookies:

When I first opened the coveted Influenster Mom VoxBox, I was super excited to find out what I received. Among the many items was a Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookie. I was even more excited when I saw this because my favorite cookie is in fact, oatmeal raisin! So when I opened the back with this delicious treasure inside, my son immediately snatched the cookie away from me and broke it into pieces before devouring the majority of it.

I was able to get about a quarter of the cookie that Kriztofer hadn't yet destroyed and let me tell you, this cookie is now my new favorite. It's extremely soft and crumbly, the oats and raisins are not abundant, but not scarce. It is simply delicious and nutritious, and doesn't taste like it belongs in the category as a healthy treat, but it is very healthy. Needless to say, my next trip to the store will include these delicious little treats! Thank you to Influenster and Quaker for the opportunity to try this delectable snack!

Weekend Shout-Out

2012-06-23T10:51:00.000-07:00

I have renamed Shout-Out Fridays to The Weekend Shout-Out, since I haven't been able to keep up with the blog every Friday! Sorry about my lack of posts lately, but with the crochet business starting up, plus working on more reviews and giveaways, on top of being a full-time mommy and college student, it's been real crazy in the Johnson house! Anyways, to get to our faves of the week.

Favorite Sites:

They not only have great deals on their site ALWAYS, but they also keep their fans updated with giveaways and sales, as well as offers from various other sites! They have other tabs such as Dr Oz Says, which is an advice tab on gaining information from the great Dr Oz for different ailments, losing weight, and staying healthy overall. Another tab is their Earn Money at Home tab, which gives info on obviously, working at home! It's a great site, they are also on Facebook and Twitter, which they keep updated a dozen times a day with all sorts of new goodies!

Next up is http://www.americanfamily.com/! It's a daily $50,000 giveaway site, who doesn't love the chance to win $50,000?! On top of that they have Instant Win Games, where you can win various prizes, as well as a point system for a rewards catalog, where you gain points by completing offers, going through the website and doing different tasks, and even by playing games! It's a great site to go to when you're bored, and you want to pass the time by making your way to earning free stuff!

Last but certainly not least is Tracie's Giveaway Finds on Facebook! This page is run by an awesome woman, how despite all she goes through in her daily life, she still finds the time to manage her page and share dozens of giveaways with her fans. She hosts a big giveaway every month to help other people/businesses get noticed, and in turn, they give away things from their business, anywhere from full size items, to percentages off orders, sometimes they do both! It's a great page for networking, and if you want some assistance with having your business get notices, head on over to her page, her July giveaway is going to be open soon and she is accepting sponsors NOW!

Favorite Blogs:
First on the list this week is Pink Clouds! She celebrates everything Pink and Girly! I love going to this blog because she always has aa ton of giveaways going on, and being a woman and a mommy, it's a go-to blog if you want to enter in for some yummy girly goodies! You can enter in for anything from lipstick to nail polish, from lotion to body wash and shower gel (her current giveaway)! My favorite tab is the Shop With Me tab, where she posts different things she buys and shares her experiences with them, a very fun read! She is on Facebook as well, and she posts her giveaways there too!

Next up is my younger sister's blog Love Me Tender! Yes, I have posted it here before, but I'm posting it again because now it's better than ever! Her mission is to help and educate moms on breastfeeding, highlighting the benefits for mommy and baby, as she is a mother of two, one of her munchkins currently being breastfed. She's trying to do something really good, and I applaud her every day for it. She also talks about other blogs and sites as well, and about what goes on in her daily life, as every blogger does! She is also on Facebook and Twitter, though she is just getting started, but doing great nonetheless!

Our last blog of the week is The Country Cook! This is my new favorite blog, and it's just delicious! She is a southern woman who knows her way around a kitchen, and makes it easy for those who love to cook, or aspire to be cooks, to make some delicious dishes! I personally have fallen in love with her delicious, out of this world Poke Cake recipes! I have tried almost every one of them, and they are the easiest things to make! So, head on over to The Country Cook, and see what she's cookin' up today!
