Some of us wouldn’t even be able to go around the corner with out one. Business travelers, Delivery drivers, families on vacations, campers, hikers, fisherman and hunters all use them. We program our GPS systems to get us to where we want to go and most GPS systems can get you to within a few feet of you’re destination. But how many of us really listen to the GPS? I would bet some of us have said “Why is it taking me that way?” Then we think we know better so we go a different way only to hear the GPS say “recalculating route”, in short we make the GPS go the way we want it to go using the route we want it to. Most of the time we get lost and it takes us longer to get to where we are going.

So how many of us do that with our walk with God on the road through life? Many times we as Christians ask God to direct our lives on this road we call life only to tell God we don’t want to go that way when it gets to ruff or don’t go the way we want it to. But unlike the GPS, God will let us go in the wrong direction until we realize that we are lost again and we cry out for help. Also, unlike the GPS system, God will not let us program him to how we want to go and where we want to go. God will just let us run to the end of the road and then take us by the hand and put us back on the original road he had for us to start with, not an alternate route. Maybe just as we trust the GPS to get us from one point to another on vacations and road trips, we should trust God to get us safely down the road of life.

Hey everyone, isn't this great! The government said the recession was over, the stock market is on the rise, the economy is getting better, everyone is feeling better, Christmas is going to be here soon. I am just so happy that things are getting so much better, everything is sunshine and Lollipops. I want to thank King Obama savior of the world for all he has done to save us all. He said he would save the economy and he would create jobs ......Oh, uh ... wait they just said that the new unemployment rate is now 10.2 % and if you add in the unemployed Americans that have given up looking for a job the rate is more like 17.5 %. Let's take a look at this, No jobs equals no spending, No spending equals no economic growth, no economic growth equals a drop in the stock market which means no bushiness growth, which means no jobs ...... Hmmmmm I wonder if President Obama has a plan for this?
A lot of people told me the bail out of banks was a good idea, that it would save them. everyone said they just need a chance and we need to help them out, so we did.

But as you can see by this article from Bloomberg today (Nov 1, 2009), it failed and we the tax payers are going to get screwed once more. I have always said this is a bad idea and in the end will only fail.

Let me ask you the tax payer how you feel about this statement in the article by Bloomberg, check this out "Treasury Department said the government probably won’t recover much, if any, of the $2.3 billion in taxpayer money that went to CIT. " I don't know about you, but as a tax payer I just loved to throw away that kind of money, it's so much fun.

I guess all I can say at this point is this "Who's next". They should have been allowed to fail. I hope we can learn that failure only set us up for our next success.
in reference to: CIT Files Bankruptcy; U.S. Unlikely to Recoup Money (Update3) - Bloomberg.com (view on Google Sidewiki)

Well here is the last in our 3 part series on ridicules arguments from the left. I hope this has open your eyes as to the truth about these three stupid arguments from the left.

Number three on the list of the downright ridiculous (and the most wearisome) is the constant assertion that Republican/Conservatives are war mongers. Once again let us delve into the history books on this one. In the history of our country, the United States has formally declared war on another country exactly 5 times.

Formal Declarations of War:

5. World War II – (1941) Franklin Roosevelt – Democrat

With the end of World War II and the forming of the United Nations, the “cut-and-dried” aspect of authorization of military engagements went out the window. With the creation of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) in 1949 the lines become even more blurry. With the passage of the War Powers Act in 1973 the “line” becomes almost indecipherable but we’ll see if we can figure it out based on cold hard facts. Let us start with Congressionally authorized military engagements before UN membership:

2. First Barbary War – (1801) Thomas Jefferson – Democratic Republican

3. Second Barbary War – (1815) James Madison – Democratic Republican

5. Russian Civil War – (1918) Woodrow Wilson – Democrat

Strike two for the Left. 2 of the 2 possibilities were Democrats.

Now we come to the UN and NATO era.

1. Korean War – (1950) Harry Truman – Democrat (UN sanctioned and ended in a stalemate)

2. Lebanon Crisis – (1958) Dwight Eisenhower – Republican (not a UN sanctioned action but authorized by Congress and very successful with only 1 combat fatality for the US.)

3. Vietnam War – (1964) Lyndon Johnson – Democrat * (not a UN sanctioned action but authorized by Congress. Not successful at all and still considered the largest and worst defeat of the American military. Directly led to the War Powers Act of 1973 limiting Presidential power during military action.)

4. Dominican Republic – (1965) Lyndon Johnson – Democrat (not authorized by Congress but successful)

* 1964 was the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution but the official beginning of the Vietnam War could also be seen as starting in 1950 when military advisors began deployment (Truman (Democrat)) or in 1965 when combat units began deploying (Johnson). Any way you choose there is still a Democrat in command.

Strike three for the Left. 3 of the 4 possibilities were Democrats. In case there is any question, strike three means you’re out. Unfortunately there is more though.

Here we enter the most complicated era of the United Nations, NATO, and the War Powers Act. Preference in this category will still be given to engagements authorized by Congress but UN or NATO sanctioned missions are not unfavorable. For edification’s sake, the War Powers Act passed in 1973 basically tried to restrict the power of the President as concerned with military engagements by technically only allowing the President to commit troops for no more than 90 days (60 on the ground and a further 30 to withdraw) without Congressional approval, and to inform Congress of his actions within 48 hours. This Act is still Constitutionally questionable with every President since its passage basically ignoring it on the grounds it is unconstitutional.

1. Mayaguez Incident in Cambodia – (1975) Gerald Ford – Republican (completed so successfully that Ford didn’t have a chance to notify Congress)

Written by Guy Svec for "What Say You"

Number two on the list of the downright ridiculous, is the theory that Republicans are always the party increasing the National Debt. Fortunately history and facts once more dominate the scene. Here are the percentage increases of national debt by some of the more popular Presidents:

Franklin Roosevelt - 12 years = 1,048% increase
John Kennedy - 2 years = 6% increase
Ronald Reagan - 8 years = 186% increase
William Clinton - 8 years = 40% increase
George W. Bush - 8 years = 77% increase
Projected Barack Obama - 4 years = 61% increase

The only similarity between them is that every single one increased the National Debt. No one to the degree that the great Democrat savior FDR did, but nonetheless all of them did. In fact, of the 32 Presidents we have elected whose party was either Democrat or Republican (18 Republicans and 14 Democrats) there have only been 10 who have reduced the national debt during their tenure. 7 of them have been Republicans including the last two to do so. (Harding and Coolidge) The last Democrat to reduce the national debt during their term was Grover Cleveland. Interestingly enough, Grover Cleveland was the only President who was elected twice non-consecutively. His first term fell in the middle of 5 Republican Presidents who all reduced the National Debt during their terms. When he was elected for his second term, he proceeded to increase the National Debt again. Technically he was a wash, therefore we will have to go back even farther to find the first President to actually decrease the National Debt during their term. Andrew Johnson, 1865. All the way back to the Civil War… So to clear things up, the last 7 Presidents to decrease the National Debt have all been Republicans.

Stop bringing it up.

Welcome to 3 ridiculous argument from the left. we will show just how insanely ridiculous these 3 arguments really are. Not to long ago I was talking with a friend of mine (Guy Svec) at work and he showed me some research he was doing on 3 arguments the left always uses. I was impressed by what he found so much I asked him to write an article for the blog site. So this article and the next 2 articles are what he wrote for the blog. So here is the first argument from the left:

I’ve grown a trifle tired over the last several years by facing the same specious arguments from the left side of the aisle time and time again. I have, therefore, taken the liberty to put a few facts together which address the common complaints I’ve been barraged with. We’ll work our way backwards from the “downright ridiculous” to the “plausible but still wrong” categories.
Number one on the list of the downright ridiculous is the oft lamented “stolen election” of 2000. A little history lesson is needed first so that perhaps these people can understand how our Presidents have always been elected. Let us begin with the fact that nowhere in any governmental document does the right exist for the people to elect the President of the United States. The Electoral College elects the President and if they are
unable to do so, the House of Representatives finish the process. The whole purpose of the Electoral College was to create an entity which separated the popular vote from the election of the President. Our government is not, and never has been, a democracy; we are a Constitutional Republic. Now that we are clear on this point, let us review some facts which put the purpose of the Electoral College into the bright light of reason and prudence:
1. Bush won 30 states to Gore’s 20.
2. Bush won 2,480 counties to Gore’s 674.
3. Bush won 2.5 million square miles of this country’s 3 million.
4. Gore won California, Illinois, and New York by 3.3 million votes and lost the rest of the nation by 3.2 million.
5. No one in the 2000 election won a “majority” of the popular vote. Minority parties ensured that neither Bush nor Gore won 50.1%.
6. In the history of our country there have been 4 other Presidents who were elected without having won the popular vote: John Quincy Adams (1824), Rutherford B. Hayes (1876), Benjamin Harrison (1888), and arguably John Kennedy (1960).
As we have demonstrated here, the popular vote has absolutely nothing to do with the Presidential Election. We only even figure it out because of curiosity, nothing more. Stop bringing it up.

Thanks guy for a very good article. Next Friday Part 2, don’t miss it it’s about to get even better.

I have never laughed so hard at an article before, but this one took the cake even if it was a joke. the University of Florida was ready for anything Hurricanes, Pandemics and even those pesky Zombie apocalypse, That's right the University was even ready for a Zombie attack. Once I had picked my self up off the floor from laughing so hard I did find one thing in this article very interesting. Even in this article they were politically correct take a look at this small part of the article:

The exercise lays out the university's response to attacks by "flesh-eating, apparently life impaired individuals.
Really?

For those of you who believe that the stimulus package would help to make the economy recover check out this article and ask your self if things are getting better then why do we have a 9.8% jobless rate. I thought that everything the government was doing was going to make it all better? This is far from better. I have always said that the economy is not over it's downward trend just yet. Here is a quote from Economist Nigel Gault with IHS Global Insight, he said "the economy is expanding despite the sick job market, in part because of federal stimulus programs like Cash for Clunkers. But he said the continuing job losses will curb consumer spending, make the economy sluggish and perpetuate high unemployment. We are still on a path to recovery, but it will not be a straight line, nor will it be quick,"

Over all, I personally think that the economy is still moving downward, but might be starting to slow down. The federal stimulus package didn't make things better, it just slowed down things. No matter what you want to believe, the recovery will take some time.
in reference to:

"Jobless rate rises to 9.8%"
- Jobless rate rises to 9.8% (view on Google Sidewiki)

If we just drove our vehicles instead of text messaging, things would be a lot safer. So many times I have seen people text messaging like crazy while driving and they are all over the road.

However this does bring up another question, what about Drivers that talk to other people in the back seat? what about changing the radio or looking for a CD? what about those who get up close to check a bumper sticker on a car or truck? As you can see there are a lot of thing that distract drivers, why are we not addressing those as well?
Well you might be right, but I would not be willing to take that bet, there are no guaranties in life so you can’t say it wont happen to you. Besides how dare you gamble away my life and those around you. Even though this is a reenactment the point is still there, texting while driving could kill you and those who might be around you at the time. Check this video out and if it don’t stop you or at least make think about stopping, then you are already dead and just living on barrowed time.

Related articles by Zemanta

This is why you shouldn't text and drive (inquisitr.com)

Well for all of you who have e-mailed me, asking me when this article was going to come out, well Here it is. This is the introduction to a 3 part series I am going to do called, “Is Socialism already here?” I am going to use this introduction to explain what 3 areas I am going to be covering. It is not my intent to tell you how you should feel or what you should believe in regards to this subject. I will present you with the facts that I find and then let you decided for your self as to rather Socialism is already here or not.

So what areas am I going to look at? Well to start I think we need to understand what socialism really is and a little bit about the history of socialism. How will we now if socialism is already here if we don’t know what real socialism is? Also if socialism is already here, then how can we fight it if we don’t now a little history behind it? Remember the old saying “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” The next area we will look at is “present day”. Here I will present you with the evidence that may or may not show you that socialism is already here or we are very quickly heading down that road. We will look at the bail outs, banks, industry, CEOs, the dozen or so Czars we now have and yes even health care. I want to point out right here, this will not be an article dealing with universal health care.
The last area we will look at will be the “future.” If socialism is already here, what can we expect to see happen in the future, if we don’t change things? We will talk about all the “What ifs” and what we need to do to change things, if we truly believe that socialism is already here.
Well that’s it. By the time we are done talking about all this, you will have enough information to decide for yourself if socialism is already here. So to spark your interest a bit more, I have included a story that was sent to me. Now even though the story is not true, it still is a very good example of socialism and what the ultimate end will be when it comes to socialism.
--------------------------------------------

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before,
but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK,
we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D!
No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering,
blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
At first I found this to be very funny and it gave new meaning to the line “Late to your own funeral” I can see the comedy part in all of this, and there have been shows and even comedians that have similar situations in their movies, TV shows and comedy acts. Yet there is a part of me that really felt bad for these two families who went through this terrible situation. I think the person responsible for this should be fired. I wander if this happens very often. Check out the article below and tell me what you think.
SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - August 18, 2009 (WPVI) -- It was to have been a time to say farewell to 80-year-old Kenneth Roberts. As if funerals aren't sad and emotional enough, what happened in South Philadelphia was a nightmare for the family and friends of Mr. Roberts. The funeral was to be held at Tindley Temple United Methodist Church on South Broad Street Tuesday morning, but the body that was brought there was not that of Kenneth Monroe Roberts, a South Philadelphia resident and army veteran. "They kept trying to tell us that it was him and I knew it wasn't him," the wife of Kenneth Roberts, Janin Holsey, said. The body of Kenneth Roberts and that of another man were mistakenly switched. Family members who viewed the body on Monday say they knew something was wrong and told the funeral director. "I told them it wasn't my grandpop; all his grandkids came in here and said that's not their grandpop. We know what my grandpop looked like, that wasn't him," granddaughter Kenayah Cerban said. The funeral home of James Hawkins at 17th and Federal Streets handled the arrangements. Tuesday morning, during the viewing and just before the funeral service began, the error was acknowledged. "She came in the service and said, 'we made a mistake, that's not your husband.' Everyone went into a rampage," sister-in-law Lois Bundy said. The family waited an hour and a half and then Roberts' body finally arrived. However, mourners were still horrified as the body was face down and partially hanging out of the ajar casket. "This is not right. I never in my life... and that's my dad and I just want it fixed," daughter Rhonda Warring said. One man suffered a seizure and was taken to the hospital along with a woman suffering an asthma attack. The funeral was cancelled. A similar scene played out across town at the Francis Funeral Home in Southwest Philadelphia. Claire Beverly and her sister were laying to rest their father, Charles, when they too realized their father was not in the casket, but rather the body of Kenneth Roberts. "Id like an apology and make sure this doesn't happen to another person because this is ridiculous," Claire said. Family members tell Action News both funeral homes are owned by Frankie Francis. Embalming is performed at the Francis Funeral home and the bodies are then transported to the services. After repeated calls were not returned Action News went looking for answers, but found none as no one would explain what happened. Family members say they've received the same response. "I'm lost for words. The words out of my mouth I don't think he wants to hear because this doesn't make sense," relative Melanie Oliver said. The family of Kenneth Roberts is planning a small private funeral.

This morning was a good example of this. When I came into work I found that all 3 elevators were out of order. And there were signs on each of them stating this fact. Yet, I would say that about 90% of the people would look at me and say (ready for this?) “Are the elevators not working?” I heard this question so many times I need to duck tape my head so it would not explode. So I thought it would be fun to list some of the stupidest questions I have ever heard, so here they are, and yes I have heard these questions asked:

1. You are on the side of the road with a flat tier, and some one stops to help you (which now days is surprising enough in its self) and they will always ask you “what happen to your tire? Or did you get a flat?
2. You are at work and in a uniform, some one will always ask “Do you work here?
3. There is a moving van in your driveway and you are loading boxes into the van (Not taking things out) and one of your neighbors is always going to ask you “Are you moving?”
4. You fall and get hurt you’re in all kinds of pain, some one will always ask “are you ok?”
5. ( this one goes with #4) After you have fallen and rolled around on the ground in pain, someone will always ask “Does it hurt?”
6. The front doors to a store or restaurant are closed and locked. The evening crew is inside cleaning up. Almost always someone will bang on the door until an employee comes to the door and they will always ask “Are you closed?”
7. Sooner or later someone driving around in front of a hospital with a big sign that say “------ Hospital”, will always ask “Is that the Hospital?”
8. Someone comes into a Toyota dealership and wanders around for an hour and then ask a sales person, ready for this? “Do you sale anything else other then Toyotas?”
9. This one just about killed me when I heard it. While I was sitting in an Ice Cream place, I kid you not someone asked if they served Milk shakes. Now this would not be too bad if the person right in front of them had not just got 3 milk shakes.
10. This was a good one. While I was at a gas station next to the airport, I had this guy ask me if that was the airport over there. So what’s so bad about that you ask? Well, the gas station was right next to the runway and there where jets landing and taking off and the airport was the only thing out there for about a mile in any direction.
11. Some times I think some people who ask stupid questions are blind and I should not laugh at them, but this one I could not help it. While I was in a pet store I saw a guy standing and looking at the puppies the store had when I heard him ask the sales person (You got it) “Do you sell puppies?”
12. I think some stupid questions come from people who just don’t understand what they just read, as it is with this next one. While I was in a store I saw this lady look right at a sign that read “No Checks”. When she go to the check out she asked (that’s right) “do you take checks?”
13. Here is one that was asked in my “Constitutional Law “class by a fellow student. He asked if we were going to study “Constitutional Law”. This guy wanted to be a lawyer.
14. Here is another one from the same student in #13. The instructor had just finished explaining what the class was all about and what we would be studying when this guy raised his hand and asked (Remember this guy wants to be a lawyer) “What class is this?”
15. This one goes with #6. I was waiting for this sports store to open along with about 6 other people. On the front door was a sign that said when they opened, when this guy came up and looked at the sign and then asked us “what time the store opens…” But wait it gets better. After we all got done laughing at him for asking a stupid question, an employee came up and as they opened the door to let the employee in this guy ran up and asked the employee when they opened.
Well, as you can see there are stupid questions. This is just a small list of some of what I have heard. People every day ask some of the stupidest questions you could ever think of. I am sure some of you can list some of the stupid questions that have been asked of you or you may have heard. So what say you? They also did not speak to each other. The next thing he saw was that all the buildings looked the same and only had one word above their doors that told you what was inside, for example Groceries, Electronics, books, etc. Even the fast food places simply said “fast food”. When the guy went into a small Grocery store, everything in it was in black and white packages with one word on it saying what was in it. The guy picked up a bag that said potato chips and went to the counter to pay for it. The man behind the counter never looked up and just rang it up and said $2.50. The guy then got back into his car and left the town. The next day the guy was telling a friend about the strange little town, when his friend laughed and said you where in the town of “Not offended”. His friend went on to say that they did not want to offend anyone who lived there, so they made so many laws that the town is now like a bunch of mindless, emotionless robots.

While this sounds like something out of a twilight zone show, you need to ask yourself “Is this where we are heading?” Now days it seems like no matter what we do we offend someone. It’s gotten to the point nowadays that if we do something that offends someone, we just make a law or remove it so it doesn’t happen again. The Ten Commandments and Christmas have been removed form schools and now we call it a winter break. The Gay and lesbian community are offended by the term “Gay” or “Significant other”. African Americans and Hispanics are offended by all terms used to describe them. I am also willing to bet that we have changed words so much that the dictionary is now the most offensive and worthless thing we have in society today. If you really think about it, it’s a good bet that you and I have violated some law (in regards to offending someone) at least 3 or 4 times a day and we don’t even know it. We are white washing our world into a bunch of mindless and emotionless robots, all in an effort to not offend someone some where.
So what’s the answer to this ever increasing problem? Well first of all, it’s not make more laws, we have enough already. I think we need to quit being so sensitive to things people say or do, but not to the point we compromise our moral standings. Another words, if they were to make a law that says everyone who owns a book store must sell pornographic magazines, then that is a fight worth taking on. But, if you choose to walk into a book store that sells that kind of stuff, then that is you choice and if it offends you then don’t go there, there are a lot of other book stores you could go to. This would apply to a lot of things in our day to day life every time we go into a movie theater, grocery store, Library, etc. we might run into something that will offend us. As for what people might say to us or even call us, we have two choices on how we could handle it, we can let it offend us and then get upset about it and try to sue them or pass some law to protect us or we can choose to walk away and ignore it. Words only have the power we decide to give it, so by getting so upset about something some one says or calls us, what we are saying is that those words have power over us and the person who said can control us. By ignoring it or walking away we take the control and the power back, thus rendering what was said powerless over us. Most of the time when a person says something offensive to us it is because they want to be in control and they have no self confidence. Remember its ok to not like something and don’t compromise your moral standing, but choose your battles wisely.
So in conclusion, I think we need to have a tougher skin, quit being a bunch of sissy little wimps that whine and cry every time someone offends us and ignore some of the offensive things others may do or say, but never compromise your morel standing and choose your battles wisely. Always remember that a word or a statement only has the power we choose to give it. I for one choose not to let words and statements have that kind of power over me.
Today I was at a 4th of July parade in Monument Colorado, which has been a tradition of ours for a long time. The parade went well and then about half way through the parade a Tea Party Group showed up.
Now I know some of you are thinking “Great a group that's going to disrupt the parade” Well I am here to tell you They didn't disrupt anything. They were part of the parade as the pictures show. They held their signs and very one cheered and seem to agree with them. I never heard anyone boo them or say anything bad, which is a real contras compared to when some of the Senators and Congressmen showed up, then no one said a word, no clapping, no cheering, nothing. Although the Tea Party group was small they still got their point across “Stop the out of control spending”. The 4th of July is about our country’s birth and the freedom we have to celebrate that freedom in any way we choose. Some choose to celebrate with fire works, others choose to salute the troops with floats and red white and blue colors and patriotic songs. This Tea Party group did it with Freedom of speech. I salute them for deciding to use their rights and freedoms. Hope you all had a great 4th of July.
