I want to say firstly that I really enjoyed the book, it was really well written and the descriptive writing for the scenes was really good. I felt that I could really imagine where we were and what it felt and looked like. I really wish that the characters were described more. Most of the time I didn’t know what people looked like and that put me off.

I think having multiple POV’s really broke up the flow of the book especially when they would suddenly switch. I also thought that It was quite weird to have the cat narrate a part of the story. Near the end of the book it becomes more of fantasy which would make more sense to have the cats’ narration then.

There were some uncomfortable and graphic scenes, but they were very well written, and this made them easier to read and appreciate.

Overall, I really did enjoy the book and I am looking forward to reading the next Part. I am also very grateful that I received a free copy of the book for a review.

Let's Talk about Lisa Helen Gray

Where do I start. As a Brit, I feel proud that we have produced such an amazing Author in the New Adult/Contemporary Genre. Lisa is not only Interactive, Community Focused and Social but she understands her audience and she listens to them too.

A few years ago I reviewed a couple of books from her Carter Brother Series in which I essentially fan girl'd (Is that how you say it) over her work. You can watch said video on my channel *Wink, Wink* Lisa Reached out and sent me signed copies of the books I didn't have that were left in the series. As a reader, Fan and Booktuber, I felt so grateful and blessed.

Lisa has her own Facebook page where she interacts with her audience, answers questions and hosts giveaways. (Which I luckily won recently) I know a lot of Authors do this and it's absolutely wonderful. As a reader, I love interacting with Authors, It feels as if the world I love is expandable and relative. The Carter Brother series was a beautiful series in which I binged and when I mean Binged, I mean BINGED!! I think I read like the whole series in a week. Each brother has their own characteristics and personalities which I think can be hard to write when you have so many brothers, Each story was beautiful, funny, Heartbreaking and deep. It felt as if her novels sucked you into a deeper story than you signed up for and I found that really exciting.

Lisa really knows her audience when she touches on real problems such as Rape, Depression, Anxiety and loneliness. I feel like her series are so important and she really carries these topics into her other projects, which is refreshing. The only thing I wish is that I read these at a younger age when it could of changed my outlook on life. But as an adult, I can really appreciate her work more.
Her series is amazing for any age and I truly believe that you should check her out if you have not already.

Let's Talk about Laurann Dohner

So, Recently I came across a new author called Laurann Dohner, who writes a popular romance/Fantasy book series called the "New Species". I must say that I really love her creativity and I love how she has created a series of standalone books which intertwine in the same world.
I love Authors who create a series of say 12 books which are from the same world but do not connect in the same way that you have to read them in order or in a sense that the story never stops. Authors such as Ruby Dixon have similar series in which you can still continue your favorite characters but you get a creative and new narrative in each book.

New Species is a series of books about a world in which labs have created humans with animal like features and tendencies. This sort of reminds me of the X-Men Mutants in a sense that they are Human but they have animal abilities, tendencies, characteristics, personalities and features but they are still human beings. Laurann is playing with Dominant hero's which are so popular in the New Adult genre and so popular within readers like myself. However, she has created an immersive world which takes us away from those typical narratives within the genre.

I have added below the blurb from Laurann's first book in the "New Species Series"

I love how each of our hero's are so dominant and can easily fall in love with their leading lady or mates. I love the concept of how they mate for life, how it's more important than marriage and how they are so protective of them.
I really love the direction that Laurann is taking this series, it has a much deeper narrative than just the romance story which make the books much more deeper and exciting. I am looking forward to what's to come. If you are interested, i would really recommend checking her out on Goodreads and buying her books. Her books rate an average of 4 stars out of 5 which really speaks for itself.

Review: Releasing the Demons

Releasing the Demons by L.D. Rose

When I sat down to read this novel, I thought it would be quite boring and slow to be honest or that I would get bored halfway and put the book down. Boy was I wrong, I couldn't stop reading. I felt conflicted when I had to put the novel down to sleep and catch-up on my work, deciding whether sleep was more important.

I loved the twist on a modern detective story and how an unlikely team of blaze, a vampire hybrid and Valerie, a modern-day cop. It was funny, scary and consuming. I couldn't wait until I found out how it would all end and upset when it did end because I wanted more. I gave this novel 4 stars out of 5 and the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 was purely a personal preference. I personally don't like more than one point of view. I dislike switching from characters because I don't feel as involved as I would if it was all in first person. But that Is just my personal view, some people will love the fact that there is more than one point of view. Don't let it deter you.

I thoroughly enjoyed it anyhow. Give the novel ago. It's new, modern and exciting. We as readers haven't seen anything like this in a while. Being a doctor and a writer is challenging and memorable. Hats off to Linda.Releasing the Demons

Review: A Girl Named Calamity

A Girl Named Calamity by Danielle Lori

How do I even start this review, All I can say is that I finished this book in one sitting and purchased the second book straight afterwards. When I started this book, I had not read the blurb and only knew the genre of book that this was and thought why not try it. I was generously gifted this ARC and was so happy that I had and that I had not missed out on this gem.

I love how easily it was to understand what was going on and to understand the world we were in. I didn't need to go back through the pages and understood and felt more immersed into the book. The fast pace of the book doesn't distract you from the details. The only thing I wished Danielle would mention would be the meaning of Calamity. It had been referenced a lot and I had to google the definition but that's not a fault in the book, that's me not understanding the meaning behind the name. I just wish it was mentioned for my benefit. I loved the character building, The change in Calamity's character and the change in Weston's

I can't contain how much I loved this book. All I can say is that every reader has a type of book they love, A certain book that excites them and upsets them when they have finished. This was that book for me. I hated it when I finished the book, realising that I had to wait. I was over the moon when I realised that Danielle had written a second, Only to be upset once again after an amazing book and have to wait for the next. All I can say is that this book is so immersive and exciting. If you want to explore this genre, I would recommend this book. If you want something new then READ THIS BOOK. It was amazing and I cannot wait until the next.

Review: The Dean's List

When I first sat down to read this book I wasn't exactly excited about the book to be honest. It wasn't my style and I had never read a book about escorting or prostitution. Let's just say that I was pleasantly surprised. I felt that the story itself was so interesting and a different look on the industry.

At first I didn't realise that Jonathon was the main love interest. I had not read the blurb before I read the book and I didn't connect to Jonathon straight away. I was not fully committed to their relationship and thought he was only in it for the sex. In any other book, I would have been more convinced but because she was a prostitute, it was hard to see it. But maybe that's what the author wanted, maybe she wanted to let the audience see the instant sexual chemistry. After they became more involved in each other, I started to love them and was excited to see how it would pan out. I loved the other stories going on in the book. It was so well thought out and exciting. I loved Jade's story and the problems that River was having with the company and all this was happening whilst River and Jonathon were falling in love. Let's just say Kelly Collins surprised me with her book. I loved it and it was written beautifully. I am going to give Kelly Collins' book the Dean's List 4.5/5. I fully recommend this book to readers.The Dean's List

Ezra and his best friend experience their first love in this romantic and compelling novel by Mercedes Siler. This book is a growing of age novel with intertwining problems and exciting adventures. Ezra put everyone at ease. He takes on peoples burdens and loves them unconditionally. Ezra found himself and found joy in the toughest of situations. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone who loves to be taken on journey of love and self discovery.

Chasing Stars by Mercedes Siler

Young love Realistic plot twists mixed with the characters dreams and hopes makes an eventful and joyous journey of finding yourself and love. I loved both Nikki and Ares, I thought that they were both suited to each other. Ares is finding and realising his dreams and Nikki is trying to make her way through life and make it as best as she can. This book is romantic, Suspenseful and funny. This book had an amazing story, Amazing Characters that Developed throughout the book. This was the first book that I read from this Author and I can honestly say that I will be reading more of her.
