The farewell tour will be starting in London, UK December 3rd and stop by Montreal December 22nd and 23rd at 8:00pm right before it ends in Toronto December 27th. She’s a six-time consecutive winner of the Quebec Lys Blues Award for Best Female Artist, and her last recording effort entitled “en duo” with guitarist extrordinaire, Paul Deslauriers, took home the 2009 Album of the Year Award. She is also a multiple nominee of the prestigious Canadian Maple Blues Award in numerous categories including Best New Artist, Entertainer of the Year, and acoustic Album of the Year, twice earning herself the title of Female Vocalist of the Year in 2005 and 2007.

She will be at the House of Jazz tonight in Montreal. You don't want to miss this.

Johnny Hallyday hospitalized

French rocker Johnny Hallyday was hospitalized this past weekend following a bronchitis aggravation. Reports are coming saying he is doing very well now and there is no need to worry. He is planning on taking a few weeks off to record his new album which is planned to launch in November.

The 69 years old singer will still be performing in Montreal at the Bell Centre on October 4th and 5th at 8pm. Tickets are already on sale and are starting at 79$ each.

NBC announced this past Monday evening that it had won a bidding war for Michael J. Fox's new sitcom. Without seeing a pilot, Michael J. Fox was able to get an order of one full season of 22 episodes. The premiere is scheduled for fall 2013. Of course, Michael will be one of the main actors but this time, Parkinson's will be written into the script. Lately, Michael J. Fox had guest appearances on shows such as "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The Good Wife". This time Michael will be a married father of three residing in New York City.

The Montreal International Reggae Festival 2012

Reggae is in town at the Old Port of Montreal Starting August 17th all the way to August 19th. The one and only Jimmy Cliff (a real Reggae Veteran) will be closing the festival on August 19th. This might be your one and only chance to catch Jimmy Cliff and if I were you, I would not pass out on that chance. You might not know who he is but I'm 100% sure you have heard his music in the past. Let's refresh your memory.

Just as a side note, Jimmy Cliff's "Hakuna Matata" is the version being used in Broadway's Musical The Lion King.

The International Hot Air Balloon Festival of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu

This festival started August 11th and will be going on until the 19th. Already on day six tomorrow, Simple Plan will be performing at 9:15pm. The Montreal World Film Festival (Montreal International Film Festival) will have it's opening night Thursday August 23rd 2012 at the Imperial. Maybe not the most popular festival here in Montreal but it is quite interesting to be able to attend world premieres right here in our city.

All the information about the different categories and contests have been announced on the festival's website. One interesting thing is that there is also room for you to be the critic :

The festival-going public will be invited to vote for the films they liked best in different categories.
