Meditation of my Heart: To Remember To ask.

After a long few nights, I woke this morning with this verse repeating n my mind. It was a peaceful way to wake, Especially on a Monday. I got a call from a sweet friend yesterday, That was a lovely gift. And the happiest i've felt in a while. To this person, Thank you. I don't get to invest time into friends that would like too due to the circumstances in my life, Few of i can control. I love you all. My closest friends, The Landmarks of my life's Journey. You're spread apart by the passing of time, few of you know each other, you all hold a few things in common. This side of Eternity, You are my best treatment plan. It's not the therapies some of you provide (those help and are greatly appreciated) it's your time and your friendship. it's the smile you brought to my face, the random burst of laughter you've brought to my voice. It's waiting the crazy smile before you take the picture. (because you know it's there. ) it's dinners.and prayers. It's embarrassing me in a hug in a hug after 18 years, It's spending your day helping retrieve the meds i had forgotten. it's being a reflection & demonstration Of the relationship God seeks and the love he holds for his creation.

I have a very long week ahead. I'm going to do something. And i want those who read this to join me.

One thing to remember and one to ask. -- #1 He made me & chose me for this. For Right now. #2 Ask before speaking -- What is the meditation of my heart? is it pleasing to my creator who chose me for this moment.

Every Soul is a dwelling place, A house. We, under our own power, or religious law or morality can sweep and clean our bad habits out, our judgmental and selfish ways are tainted eyes, the destructive swords of our tongues. We can have a nice little spring cleaning session in the houses of our souls. We can box up all of these things... All of our wickedness and throw it out. we can sweep the floors by just Doing the right thing. But What are we left with? an empty house. The he problem with that is, the dwelling place of our souls... the the houses of our hearts. Were built to be lived in. And, an empty house will be lived in. The Only question is Who will take up residents in the house of our hearts? The thief who will bring all the baggage and the sword of destruction? Or, the true builder? The Lord God almighty. the prince of peace, Abba Daddy.... JESUS. Who will bring the his law. of Love. And  the fruits of the spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

The call of the Christian life, is not to stand alone... but, to call out and  say i see it! I hear it! I Confess it! It's the word of Grace. It's  the road home! We are broken busted and bleeding. We are to lean into his word, his promise together and crawl, walk, or run together to The voice of our heavenly Father. He's calling, Come my child, you will stumble... but, keep your eyes on me, and trust my word! I FINISHED THE FIGHT, YOUR FIGHT! Just come home my son, my daughter, Come home! I will clean and bind and heal your wounds... Just cry out and i will hear! Just come HOME! and i will heal you! Thank you My Lord My Jesus! For your  Unshakable Grace. and Love.... Fathers day: Our fathers the fishermen

Fathers Day: I believe a mans highest calling this side of heaven is the God given duty and privilege, of Not just being a father, But a Dad. As a child i watched my own father, And As a young kid it never occurred to me that my physical limitations would keep me from my own dream of being a Dad. It's something i dreamed of quite often. And, what many don't know is that the thought of living without being a Dad or even finding love is something that grows harder and harder for me to cope with as i close the door on my 20's. That being said, I believe we all have a responsibility to lead by example for the younger generations. I can do that every time God blesses me with a new day. I wouldn't be able to do that without first My heavenly father Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Second My own father who is the earthly definition of sacrificial love, devotion & A true fisher of men, including myself. In some men's heart burns a more devoted flame. one of whom is My father.

So to all those who are Not just a father, But step up everyday to lead and be a Dad, My undying respect & admiration is forever yours. Happy Fathers Day.

That time I met Bilbo Baggins at the U.S. Open qualifier..... Sort of.

So... I thought i'd try qualifying for the virtual U.S. Open at congressional. If you Win the virtual U.S. open. You could win two tickets to the actual U.S. Open. So, what the hell, right? I'll give it a shot. First tee, from the tips. Set my shot line. deep breath, Time to let the big dog eat. Start back swing, full power, start follow through... i can do this... i can... do... this. Moment of truth... contact. I, will have you know, Ladies and Gents..... I pushed that thing SO FAR INTO THE RIGHT TREES.... that When it went to my ball for my second shot.... Bilbo Baggins, from the hobbit, pops out of a hole in the tree to my right. wearing a wife beater stained with the brown liquor of his choice, and cigarette hanging off his bottom lip. Looks at me, and screams.... HEY! YOU!... GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN!! It dawned on me in that moment.... perhaps, U.S. Open qualifiers aren't for me.

Listen up people, please! Serious Prayer request! This is Whitney. She is a friend of mine, a very important friend. I've told you about her before. Talked about essays she's written Any many other cool things. You can also Check out her public speaking page on FB. She Graduated from SFA & currently going to grad school for special Education. This is a very powerful voice for all people & especially those touch by physical disability A big influence on me & my on goals for teaching, at some point. Anyway, A few days ago... Her baclofen pump malfunctions, which is extremely serious . She is in the hospital and slowly improving. I have another friend who this happened to a few years ago. It can be a challenge to solve this problem. Whitney is always up for a challenge. But, if all i can do is tell you about her & ask you to pray with me Holding her & family up to the healing hands of God. Than that's what i'm going to do. Will you please pray with me for Whitney & the Bailey family??

Thank you all so much for all of the prayers & kind words for a very influential friend of mine. Some of you, i don't even know, but your friends of Whitney's & let me say without hesitation, if you're a friend of hers your a friend of mine, i mean that. This is a very powerful young woman. She's cutting a new road & raising the bar for what's possible for people in the "disability community" She's made it her personal mission to destroy the old, naive, ignorant, ideas that society tells someone with physical challenges. I admire that most about Whitney Bailey.

"Whitney sat in her chair for most of the day and has been a lot less spastic. " She is tired & tight but moving forward from what i cam understand & will go through inpatient rehab When her doctors & family are for sure she's out of the woods & before returning to to grad school. "

Look, i'm doing this for two reasons The first & biggest is, I believe in the power of prayer. it changes things. & the second is, there is too much misguided ignorance in this world. & ever since i've known Whitney Bailey, she's made it her goal through teaching, speaking, writing, & her own actions to defeat those misconceptions & doing it with an overwhelming positive attitude.And one hell of a smile.

Atrophy: The muscle and the relationship.

muscle atrophy, can occur over time when the musical goes without use or exercise. I know it well. I also know that the human relationship can suffer from atrophy as well. If it be friendship, family relationship, or the relationship with your significant other. If not properly maintained or due to significant nerve damage the muscle grows frail shaky and weak. This goes on long enough, our muscles and bodies are never the same. Our relationships are the most significant treasure granted to us in this life. If damaged by our actions, words, or neglect long enough, atrophy robs our relationship of life just like it would your bodies or like it did my legs.

Our choices change the lives of others, not just our own.

If you don't get this, well, that's why its my blog and not yours. There's people I don't understand either.... Not sure that will change.

New years eve being my father and step mother's wedding anniversary they're out for dinner and a movie. I'll have a quiet night of reading, film watching, and reflection. upon all the amazing support i have gotten from my friends/family how thankful i am to talk with you, to see proof of God in the love you have for others and devotion you have for your family and children. The determination you have for overcoming your challenges living your life to the fullest, and lighting the world up with your grace and smile. To live is to be both art, and artist. Don't waste your paint! Happy new year everyone! May God bless you and keep you!

Phil Robertson :True to beliefs and convictions.

Since when did a man standing by his values and spiritual Beliefs make him a bigot? Oh, wait.... it doesn't.

Those comments were NOT homophobic. Or made out of hate. They were based on HIS personal beliefs rooted in THE Bible and the word of God. if you disagree with Mr. Robertson's beliefs as a Christian, or my beliefs as a Christ follower, that is your right to disagree. But, you shouldn't change your beliefs to suit me. And i won't change my beliefs to suit you. if we have to change our beliefs Just to keep peace and please each other then we strip peace of all its very meaning, and value. People need to stop trying to make an honorable man into a man of hate. It's okay to disagree. Its NOT okay to make a man into something he is not because of that disagreement.

What happened to the melting pot?!!!

America was the land of many cultures, many religions, many ideas. Our country was founded on the idea that we have a right as human beings to peacefully build the core of our lives around what we feel in our hearts to be the sacred truth, and to do everything we can to live out that truth with every sunrise. To lead our children down the path with grace, honor, love, peace, Humility and conviction to what WE believe to be THE TRUTH. ,

In our country you chose the path you follow, The Robertson family Chose Christianity. And so do I, The one i see as the sacred and Holy truth.

What is Any core belief without convictions? NOTHING.

Now, i know, as someone that struggles with writing, and grew up around three older brothers. The meaning behind what you're trying to say and the words that find their way out are often two different things.

The words that were used By Mr. Robertson to express his beliefs and convictions may not have been the words other Christians (including myself.) Would have used. But, the faith that those beliefs are grounded in is strong, true, and biblical.

TO ATTACK PEOPLE FOR LIVING THEIR PEACEFUL TRUTHS AND CONVICTIONS. THAT'S NOT OF A WORLD I WANT TO BE A PART OF.

To remain true to our faith in the teachings of the light that is our saving grace in Jesus Christ. That is to be a Christian.

Dinner with John: Needs new wheelchair van

Hello, I'm John Bullard, am 26 years old, and have Cerebral Palsy. I live with my family and love the time we spend together. It has become increasingly difficult for me as of late to participate in very important activities, all of which contribute to my life, without a safe accessible wheelchair van. I have goals and needs I want to work on, like getting my GED, participating in activities with friends, and staying involved in my church, all very special. C.P.: headaches and Days like these.

Add in tension in my neck, ringing in my ears and random coming and going of pain... this is the "headache" since spring of 2008 and today hit me at 5:30 am this morning and hasn't let up. most of the time these days with my head when the other muscle are not... some days both at once.

Saw the following on a message board discussion on migraines.

"Used to be that i would get a weird sensation of numbness in the top or sides of my head. For about the last two weeks i have had a full tingly sensation that spreads from around my ear to half way up my scalp and on the upper jaw and cheek. When i used to get the numbness i would self adjust my neck and it would go away. This sensation comes and goes several times a day. It does not seem to be triggered by anything. Some times i can feel movement and even notice that the movement moves the classes on my face. today i can feel what seems to be my heart beat in the side of my face. My face almost feels like the sensation that you get when you go to get your wisdom teeth out and they stick you with that medicine."

I want to learn as much as possible in my pursuit of knowledge. While knowing very well, that neither you, nor I, will ever finish that pursuit of knowledge while on this earth. Why, with every new breath, comes a new lessen. I love it when God blesses me by allowing my eyes to open with a new sunrise. I love God. I love my family and friends, which in my life are one and the Same. I want to leave a mark; I want to make a difference. I sit now, But I will stand again. It may not be in this place, or “normal” by its evaporating standers which it falsely claims. But REAL, ever flowing truth.
In my observation, rarely, in being REAL are we ever“normal”nor, in being “normal” are we ever being REAL. For who determines “normal” from REAL But HE, who holds all that is REAL in his hands. I am REAL, YOU ARE REAL, We are different in a few ways but in Many the same. We are REAL. What is “normal “but slow yet never ceasing evaporation of all that is false? And what is REAL, But, all that is strong, able, and, everlasting.

NOVEMBER is National Physical Therapy Month.... and I miss all of my P.T.S If you grew up with a disability you understand the impact a P.T. can have on your life. i miss them all everyday of my life.

Diane Funk Milhorn, You have no Idea how much i miss you... I don't have the words anymore.... Thank you for teaching me lessons that have lasted far beyond my walker and my attitude... Thank you.

when your feet are on the ground everyday you take it for granted. When i could stand i was so focused on upset at the work that i had to do that i missed the reward, I never understood until much later that most times in my life how beautiful it was, My feet on the ground or my fragile step.

A few years ago i went to run walk and roll with my father there were kids there in Gait Trainers walking slowly but determined every step of the little girl in front of me was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Without P.T.S that girl wouldn't be able to feel Gods ground beneath her feet.

HEAR ME NOW, I Have cerebral palsy. I'm in a wheelchair, 99.9% of time i'm in pain. GOD made me with his hands. and he is the MASTER artist of ALL. I am his masterpiece. My suffering, pain are of this earth. MY FLAWS OF WHICH, THERE ARE MANY are of MYSELF and my short falling short of GOD boy have I, EVERYONE HAS. I get by with a little help from my friends. There is a reason I am who I am There is a reason I am what I am, There is a reason for my challenges. There is a reason i once didn’t listen, There is a reason i now hear every word. while I do not know what lies before me, I do know who he has put around me. While i cannot bare weight, I know he has bared every weight….. So if i stand let me stand on the promise that you will pull me through…. the only way out is through.
