House of Cards Sketch - O Holy Night

Happy Day After Halloween!

This day marks the official start of the holidays for me...already have plans in motion for Thanksgiving, Christmas plans being finalized and brain storming New Year's! Thankful for the sugar rush! lol

When it comes to making a few more Christmas cards in October, I can use all the help I can find! Well, this month's House of Cards Challenge is a sketch. Works for me!

Here's my take on the sketch:

At first glance this may look like a CAS card (...and to some of you it may be! lol), but this card has layers and lots of embossing - the hot kind!

- The basic notes:

- black panel is punched

- kraft layer is clear embossed and so is a section of the white base. It was super hard to photograph, but you can see how the light catches the shiny areas. It's so pretty in person!

- sentiment is gold embossed.

This card is also a gatefold card! (with a nekked inside...will finish that this weekend.)

Globecraft & Piccolo - The Christmas Story Mini Triptych

Hello, Friends and Happy Halloween to those of you that celebrate it!

Welcome to my last Friday on the Globecraft & Piccolo blog. Seems to be the theme around here, doesn't it? *wink* No worries! There are good things in the works. Stay tuned...

I've had a great time designing with the G&P product line, especially the chunky Embossing Enamel Powders - I LOVE how you can customize the finish by the amount of heat and how long you heat it.

Here the triptych is laid out straight across.

For my farewell project I've revisited my first post where I shared how to create an ombre look with 2 powders. Here I used the powders to create a sky and focus point for the nativity.

All G&P supplies listed at the end of the post.

Begin by coating all the Accents with Mars Black 3D Gels. Set aside to dry.

Using rectangle bezels as the base, I gessoed the front and back. Time for the powders! I found that it was easiest to add and heat one powder at a time.

Can you see the sparkle and shine?

Adhere all the Accents to your bases. Adhere a couple of pieces of scrap ribbon to to the back of the bezels and connect all the pieces.

Globecraft & Piccolo - Mixed Media Tag Trio

Welcome to the weekend and a Globecraft & Piccolo project! Today I have a trio of tags to share. When you're short on time, but still want to make a little something try a few tags!

Each of these tags were made using the same techniques. G&P supplies listed below. The sentiment stamps I used are an older 7Gypsies Clear Stamp Set called Disclaimer (love this set!). Using an old credit card or gift card spread a little gesso on the Rectangle Bezels, moving the paint up and down and back and forth with the card. It will leave an uneven layer - exactly what we want!

Using 2 colors of 3D Enamel Gel, add another layer. Spread with the card. Because the 3D Gels are transparent, the gesso layer will show through adding interest to our mixed media tags!

Below is what the Rectangle Bezels look like after they've dried. The 3D Gel colors used left to right:

Rose Pearl + Satin Gold

Mars Black + Satin Gold

Turquoise + Titanium White

I used Embossing Enamel Powders (Ruby Red Slippers and Mossy Glen) on the roses and 'colored' the open spaces (Deep Red) and 'crown' using (Satin Gold) 3D Gel. Wouldn't this make a cute tag for a new baby girl?

I think this tag is my favorite! I love the way the background looks like the river bottom - just perfect for my fish...and it was a 'big one!' The fish are painted using gesso and 3D Enamel Gels (Satin Gold and Rose Pearl).

I love the beach and this tag was fun to put together! These accents are definitely sea worthy, wouldn't you say? The seahorse is coated in Glastique Gloss and the steering wheel in Burnt Umber 3D Gel.

I like these simple, but you can dress the tags up by adding jump rings and beads or even smaller Accents.

Globecraft & Piccolo - Welcome Bubble Frame

It's time for another project with Globecraft & Piccolo! Today's project is a Halloween themed home decor bubble frame inspired by Mary Howitt's poem The Spider and the Fly.

""Will you walk into my parlor?" said the Spider to the Fly."

This was a quick and easy project to put together! Choose some fun papers and embellishments, including the Fancy Labels & Roses Accents, Bling on a Roll and Oval Bubble Frame Kit. Supply links below.

Cut apart the Fancy Frame. Cover the Bubble Frame with the papers, the Fancy Label circle and Accents with Embossing Enamel Powders, glitter and 3D Gels. The circle behind the skull is a mix of Micro Black Embossing Enamel Powder and Pure Sparkle Silver Glitter.

The skull was a plastic ring. I cut off the ring part and used hot glue to adhere the skull to the circle. Cut 2 of the circles from the Bling on a Roll and glue into the eye sockets.

After embossing the wings, I used hot glue to attach the wings to the back of the circle not the frame.

Love the layers!

The dragonfly was covered in Mars Black 3D Gel and Pure Sparkle Silver Glitter was added before the gel dried.

I only used 1 layer of Embossing Enamel Powder so that the surface would be textured like old wrought iron. Add a little eyelash yarn for more texture and fun...that's it!

House of Cards Punches or Dies - Truly Grateful

This month's challenge at House of Cards is to use your *Dies or Punches* on your project. If you've been crafting for awhile, I bet you have a bunch of punches or dies that have been sitting around, maybe even a new one you haven't even gotten out of the package...so get them out and on your cards!

On this card I used the Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Doily Die. As you can see there are a lot of bits to weed out, but I love the tiny cut outs and the pinholes. You can die cut card stock, but I prefer to use regular printer paper to match the thin, light feel of the store bought doilies.

For the bottom of the banners, I used a square punch to cut out the triangular pieces. Using the punch allows for a more uniform look.

Even the half circle is cut out using a Spellbinder's Nesties Circle die! (Cutting the doily and the circle in half made it easy to make a second card!)

This design makes it easy to use up scraps. Keep the card base, background paper and doily neutral and mix and match the papers for the banners and the half circle for quick cards.

Today's project started out as a clearance item from last Halloween. Primitive pumpkin in a sickly yellow-green color. (it's not your screen...lol) Add a few fabulous metallic G&P Embossing Enamel Powders over the fun steampunk inspired Accents and ta-da!

A new and improved Jack! Want to make your own steampunk gourd? Ink up the Accents with the Embossing Adhesive Fluid, cover with your choice of Embossing Enamel and heat. Repeat. That's it!

Welcome to the first Friday of October!

Today I have another Halloween creation to share - this time an altered journal! Simple color scheme, themed Piccolo Accents and a bit of bling and patterned paper make this a quick project. See the bottom of this post for the supplies!

Love how easy it is to shape the Bling on a Roll to my project...and, of course, the sparkle...

That shiny, glittery shape is a ghost!

What a great Halloween tree, right?! See the 'staining' on the Accents? Coat the shapes with Glastique and when it's almost dry, use a foam blender and Distress Ink over the piece. The areas that are not quite dry will absorb the ink!

Today I have a fun Halloween altered frame project. Need a bit of fall decor? This cute frame comes together in less than an hour...including dry time!

To make this frame, you'll need a few items from the G&P store:

3D Gels: Burnt Umber, Mars Black, Orange, Satin Gold

Embossing Enamel Powder: Mossy Glen

Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid

Glastique, Gloss

Lil Carved Pumpkins Accents A117

Haunted House Accents A110

Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Mustard Seed

Other supplies:

misc. frame (this would be so cool in a Bubble Frame, too! Tune in next week - I actually use one!)

scrap of patterned paper

scrap of fuzzy fibers

Your first step: color the Accent pieces with the 3D gels. *Let dry.

*To add texture to the 'enameled' pieces: let dry until the pieces are tacky. Using a scrap piece of paper, gently dab the semi-wet surface, pulling off small amounts of the gel. Repeat until you like the texture. Let dry.

Using your finger (or a paintbrush) apply the Satin Gold 3D Gel to the raised parts of the frame. LOVE this subtle gilded look!

These carved pumpkins have hilarious faces! They would be even funnier with googley eyes!

When the frame and all of the pieces are dry, lay the house on the scrap piece, trace under the house. Ink up the area and emboss with Mossy Glen.

Using a foam blender, add the moon using Mustard Seed. Attach all of the Accents and fiber using the Glastique.

That's it!

Globecraft & Piccolo - Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful Mixed Media Card

Welcome to the weekend! Are you looking forward to getting your crafty on?!

Today I have a mixed media card using embossing enamels and inks that results in fun and color!

To make this card, you will need a few items from the G&P shop:
Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid
Embossing Enamel Powders: Girls Night Out, Micro Gold, Vintage Silver
Art Stencil Fancy Flowers AS46003
Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves, Shabby Shutters, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade

scraps of white cardstock and vellum cardstock

Let's get started!

If your stencil has a backside, flip it so the backside is facing up. (This is really important if you have numbers or letters that need to go a certain way.)

Dab the Distress Inks directly onto the stencil. I find it's better to start with the light colors, moving up to the darker ones. No rush here.

When you like the distribution of color, spritz with water, flip over onto the watercolor paper. Use a couple of napkins or a papertowel to press and dab the stencil. This prevents the water from pooling into open areas of your stencil.

This technique has varying results depending upon the amount of water you use. Do you want muted or defined?

I am so in love with feathers on cards!

Stamp your sentiment on the vellum and use the top photo for placement. That's it!

House of Cards Colour Palette - Every Day Moments

Some days I feel as if I am having a lot of 'moments'...senior moments, life lesson moments, practice patience moments...do you know what I mean?!

These last couple of weeks have been hectic with school starting back up, fall sports, work, etc. Getting back into the routine of life with kids - school time.

Thank Goodness for the creative challenges! This month at the House of Cards challenge we have a colour palette!

This definitely says, "Autumn!" I pulled a few colours for this card: gray, red, the oranges...especially for the embossed, spritzed, lightly distressed background. I'm not sure I'm lovin' the ribbon. It feels like it needs a little something more. Keepin' it real here. This card may need a makeover.

The dragonfly is embossed and the buttons were punched from cork.

T.G.I.F. (Thank Goodness It's Fun day!)

The holiday season is coming up fast...before you know it Halloween will be here and we will be working our way through to Christmas and New Year's!

Today I have a FUN jewelry set using a package of Piccolo Accents and a few Embossing Enamel Powders.

To make the earrings and pendant, you will need a few items from the G&P shop:

Embossing Enamels: Royal Sterling, Starry Sky, Ultra Thick Clear

3D Enamel Gel: Mars Black

Glastique, Gloss

scrap of paper, copy/patterned/plain - your choice

The key to this project is to be patient when building the layers. You don't want finger prints or peaks in your melted enamels!

Begin by covering the peacock feathers with the Starry Sky. When cool, use a small paintbrush to to coat just the 'eye' portion of the feather. Using a small scoop (slushee straws work great for this!) add the Royal Sterling just to the middle. When cool, attach earring hoops and rings to connect the feathers.

The pendant was made by building several layers of Starry Sky (I did 3 layers.) Now add the Royal Sterling randomly, covering a majority of the circle. Don't worry if the Royal Sterling seems too solid after it melts. Just stick with me! Do NOT clip off the hanging circle, yet. It comes in handy as a handle when you are melting the powders and adding things. Clip it AFTER you are finished with the enamel powders. You're welcome.

When you add the Ultra Thick Clear, the magic starts...it will start to move the other colors around as you heat the powders. Keep repeating the layers until you are happy with the results.

When you are finished, write (or stamp) the sentiment on sticker paper, scrap of patterned paper, copy paper...whatever you prefer. Heat up the pendant and when it's warm, use the side of the tip of the tweezers to very gently push the sentiment into the melted enamel. I LOVE how the paper turned transulcent.

Just for fun I used the Mars Black on the tiny bat (click on the picture for a better look!)

Globecraft & Piccolo - You Belong Art Journal Page

This week I had the chance to work with a few fabulous stencils from our sister company, Sweet Stamps. Pair those stencils up with Globecraft & Piccolo 3D gels, embossing enamels and accents we get an awesome art journal page!

(my page is inspired in part by Wildflowers by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.)

We know we can't have it all at one time, so use what you have and order G&P items when you can. The G&P embossing enamels and 3D gels go a long way. We know you'll love the products, too!

To make this page, you'll need a few items from the G&P shop:
Embossing Enamel Powder: Copper Kettle
Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid

Other Supplies:
various spray inks (Tattered Angels Glimmermist, Dylusions, Tim Holtz Adirondack Color Washes)

stamps: flowers, alphabet

Layer the spray inks. Be sure to not waste the ink! ;) After you spray through the stencil, flip it over and use the excess ink in the negative (like a stamp). Refer to the project picture above.

Use the 3D Gels on this project by adding small amounts of water to get the consistency you need: more water to use the gels like ink and less to paint and stamp with.

The picture above shows the drips of Satin Gold over the Aztec Sun stencil.

I stamped the 'dots' below using the gels and a cut up flip flop. seriously!

Copper Kettle is a gorgeous copper powder with bits of copper glitter. LOVE the texture and shine!

So many possibilities with these Fancy Labels and Dragonflies...

I used the Circle Pavers stencil with embossing paste and then stamped over it with the gel. I can't stop looking at the colors on top and under the paste!

Hi, Everyone! Today I have a fun pair of cards using Globecraft & Piccolo's Accents and Embossing Enamels.

Most days I design singular projects, but sometimes I find a layout or design I really like and I make a set of cards that coordinate, but aren't exact duplicates...like these cards!

To make these cards, you'll need a few items from the G&P shop:

I kept the basic design the same on both cards. I varied the patterned papers, cardstock colors, embossing enamels and accent placement.

The coffee cup on each card is embossed in Micro Black. I stamped the cup three times - once fully for the base, partially for each lid and partially for each wrap (on scraps of patterned paper). After fussy cutting, I adhered the wrap directly to the cup base and the lids were adhered using foam tape.

I had to include close ups of the accents...see how clean the edges are?! I love the natural color, but you can use markers, paint, 3D Gels, glitter glue...whatever you want to use to match them to your projects! (Sometimes there are tiny bits on the edges, but you can use an emery board/fine sand paper to smooth them away.)

The flourishes on the second card are 2 of the flourishes, one flipped over, glued close together. (These flourishes also make GORGEOUS hearts!)

Sentimental Sundays #221 - Everything is Awesome!

Welcome to another Sentimental Sundays Challenge!

Shaker Cards

I love interactive cards - shakers, spinners, special folds, waterfall...so designing this card was a lot of fun!

We LOVE The Lego Movie in our house! I just had to use Good Cop to make this shaker card for my nephew.

The window was created using the STAR shaker card cutting file. I used eCal with my eClips and the star svg file.

Basically, I layered 2 of the stars, turning one, to make the window shape. I used the inner and outer shadow options to create the red frame.

Thanks to my son, I was able to include tiny legos in the shaker bits. He's the best!

To include the legos, I had to use 3 layers of foam tape. I used hot glue to put my layers together.

The sentiment inside had to be AWESOME, of course! bwahaha!

Globecraft & Piccolo - Beautiful Ride Altered Paintbrush

Have you seen the newest Globecraft & Piccolo release? Fun summer designs, gorgeous labels and flourishes! Today I'm sharing a few of the Accents from the Amusement Park Rides set on an altered paintbrush.

Here's what you'll need from the G&P shop:

Piccolo S100-set Amusement Park Rides

3D Enamel Gels: Daffodil Pearl, Orange, Rose Pearl, Titanium White, Turquoise
Embossing Enamels: Aged White, Mermaid Tears
Glastique, Gloss

Other Supplies:
paintbrush
white gesso
white modeling paste
small alphabet stamps
glue gun
flowers
scraps of fabric, twine or ribbon

My local art store had chip brushes on sale and I stocked up - just for an occasion such as this! You could also use an old brush, too. The older the paint, the more character, right?

Paint the handle with a couple of coats of gesso. You don't have to worry about being neat. Just get it done!

Next, I mixed a bit of the Turquoise 3D Enamel Gel with some modeling paste. Dab it on randomly, creating colored textured. Let dry.

Using the 3D Enamel Gels, add more color to the handle. (I used a foam brush and a cotton swab.) Let dry between colors. (Layer away! The gels are translucent, so overlapping the colors is highly recommended!)

Use the gels to 'color' the Accents. After they are dry, coat with a layer of Glastique.

While you wait for the Accents to dry, melt the Embossing Enamels here and there over the handle and the brush bristles.

For ease and time, I used a glue gun to attach all of the embellishments to the paintbrush.

Stamp and distress the words. Trim and adhere.

Globecraft & PIccolo - Brave Mixed Media Pendant

Today I have this sweet little pendant to share with you. It started out being a plain piece of book board, but with a few embossing enamels and embellishments it turned out to be a whole lot more!

Here's what you'll need from the G&P shop:
Fine Feathers Necklace (CA111) or a Bezel of your choice
Embossing Enamel Micro White
Embossing Powder Ultra Thick Clear
Embossing Enamel Vintage Silver
Bling on a Roll Silver
Glastique Gloss

Other Supplies:
tiny flower
scrap paper
Tim Holtz Bird & Cage Die
scrap of tissue paper
black ink
small alphabet set

This bezel is from the Fine Feathers Necklace set. Using the Embossing Enamel Adhesive, apply and heat 3 layers of Micro White. (One layer at a time.) Let cool.

Using the Glastique, apply the Bling on a Roll around the edges. I cut the Bling into 3 'stone' pieces, so I could follow the edge of the bezel, keeping the circle shape.

Using a brush apply the Embossing Enamel Adhesive the edge of the bezel. Work in small sections, one area at a time. Dip the edge into a small pile of Vintage Silver. Heat and repeat until the outside edge is covered. Let cool.

Stamp 'brave' onto the scrap tissue paper. Use a small amount of the Glastique to adhere it to the center of the bezel.

Sprinkle on the Ultra Thick Clear. (I have found that the Ranger Heat Tool works great to start the powder melting. It usually doesn't blow off any of the powder. Be patient; it does take a minute or two to heat up the power. Once it has begun to melt, I get out my regular heat tool and quickly finish.)

Let go of perfection and watch the magic happen!

Die cut the bird. Trim to fit. Cut tiny flags out of the scrap papers.

Use the Glastique to adhere the bird, flags and flower.

I love perfectly imperfect edges and the wave in the word brave. Charming, wouldn't you say?

House of Cards Sketch - Fairy Wish

I love a good sketch...you?

This month the challenge at House of Cards is this sketch:

I love the lines and how you can make this sketch CAS (Clean and Simple) or ramp it up and add lots of layers.

I decided on both...lots of little layers and simple lines. Using Lucky Wishes from A Day for Daisies (one of my most favorite digi stamp stores!) and a lacy punch and, of course, some gorgeous glitter this is my card...

Love the lacy layers and subtle texture! If this card wasn't already reserved for a special niece, I think it would be sitting on a shelf near my workbench; this fairy brings smiles.

Globecraft & Piccolo - Be-YOU-tiful Altered Block

I love making little home decor pieces, especially when they're functional, too! Today we are using a few bits and scraps, 3D Gels, bling and fun Piccolo Accents to make this altered block.

Here's what you'll need from the G&P shop:
3D Enamel Gel Mars Black
3D Enamel Gel Rose Pearl
Bling on a Roll Silver
Vintage Dress Forms Accents A125
Glastique (Gloss or Matte)

Memento Ink Pad Tuxedo Black

Other Supplies:
wooden block
14 gauge galvanized steel wire
pliers
wire cutters
sandpaper, fine
scraps of patterned paper (My Mind's Eye - Dolled Up)
small alphabet stamps
scraps of lace

Using a nail and hammer, make a hole in the center of the top of your wooden block to fit the diameter of your wire. I used flat nose pliers to shape the wire as shown.

Using the Rose and Mars Block, paint your dressform. When dry adhere using the Glastique to a white piece of cardstock and trim when dry.

Adhere scraps of paper to the sides. Use the fine sandpaper over the edges of the paper scraps to soften them.

Stamp: be YOU tiful on one side of your block as shown. Cut to fit and adhere a strip of bling to the bottom of the stamped square.

Using a bit of adhesive, glue and wrap the lace at the top of the wire (under the circle) and then wind it down, adding a little glue as needed. Adhere a small strip of bling to the top of the lace.

Add your picture and enjoy!

Seriously. I am thinking this with more enthusiasm than you can imagine! As you are sitting in front of your computer, in the comfort of your home reading this post, I am camping in North Carolina. Yep. You read that right! Outside with the bugs and the critters, humidity and heat...and by the time you read this I will be on day 4.

Stamp your background. Ink up your stamp with the Enamel Powder Adhesive and sprinkle on the Micro Gold. Heat. This is a beautiful, warm gold and the fine powder melts quickly.

Ink up your sentiment with the Enamel Powder Adhesive and sprinkle on the Micro Black. Heat. Love the texture and shine the enamel powder adds to a project!

Adhere the layers, tie on the crochet thread and add the Steampunk Airship Accent. The Accent just adds that little something that takes a card from nice to oooh!

Globecraft & Piccolo - DIY Glow in the Dark Galaxy Pendant

So many crafts, so little time...

It's a good thing you can make your very own Glow in the Dark Galaxy Pendant in less than an hour!

Here's what you'll need from the G&P shop:

Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid

Enamel Powder Micro Black

Enamel Powder Vintage Copper

Enamel Powder Deep Blue Sky

Enamel Powder Royal Sterling

Enamel Powder Micro White

Enamel Powder Poodle Skirt

Easy Grip Reversible Tweezers

Teardrop Acrylic Craft Charm (AY004)

optional items:

bail

necklace chain

Your choice of finish: Enamel Powder Ultra Thick Clear, Glastique or Instant UV Resin

glow in the dark acrylic paint

old toothbrush or paint brush

This is unbelievably easy!

The basic technique is to sprinkle on small amounts of Enamel Powder and heat. Keep adding Enamel Powders while the surface is still warm, heat and repeat until the desired effect is achieved. Then cool completely and cover with your choice of finish.

It's always good to have a before and after picture of a craft, but it's GREAT to have pictures of the process...so here you go! I've included what colors I used when and any tips I learned along the way.

Start by peeling the blue liner off of only one side of the acrylic charm. (Carefully use the tip of the tweezers to lift the edge of the liner.) This will keep the backside clean until you're done.

Cover the surface of the charm with the Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid. Sprinkle on the Micro Black. Heat. While still warm, add more Micro Black. Heat. Repeat one more time. (The picture below is after the first layer was heated.)

Using a small scoop (Trimmed slurpee/slush straws are great for this!) add bits of Vintage Copper. Heat.

Add Deep Blue Sky. Heat.

Add Royal Sterling. Heat.

Add Micro White. Heat.

Add Poodle Skirt. Heat.

Add Deep Blue Sky. Heat.

Continue to add Enamel Powders until you love what you see. Heat. Let cool.

If you want the cool glow in the dark stars (is that really a question?!), dip the toothbrush bristles into the glow in the dark paint and run your fingernail across them to splatter 'stars' on the pendant Practice on a scrap of dark paper first, so you can see what the splatter pattern looks like. Let dry.

Finish by topping off with Enamel Powder Ultra Thick Clear, Glastique or Instant UV Resin.

It will be even better in person. Trust me.

Globecraft & Piccolo - White Christmas in July x2

Welcome to the weekend!

I've seen a lot of "Christmas in July" projects lately and that got me thinking about designing CAS (Clean and Simple), but elegant cards. I love the white on white, but can't seem to get the hang of it...lol

I love how simple these cards are! Once you get the technique down, you can make a set of these in no time!

Here's what you'll need from the G&P shop:

Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid

Enamel Powder Ruby Red Slippers

Other supplies (linked items will take you to our sister store: Sweet Stamps):

Memento Ink Tuxedo Black

snowflake stamp (such as THIS one)

foam tape/squares/circles

white cardstock

The first card is your standard ink up your stamp with the Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid, sprinkle on the powder and heat.

I found the easiest way to make sure my squares were centered was to adhere the bottom squares first, beginning with the center square. Then place 5 foam squares on the back of the embossed squares and adhere.

Another reason to love Ruby Red Slippers! It's the perfect Christmas Enamel Powder - look at the gold and all of the flecks of colors...simple gorgeous!

After I finished the first set of cards, I decided to make a 'negative' and try another technique. This one takes a little time and preparation, but it's so worth the WOW! (Click here for the basic tutorial on how to stamp into the embossing enamel.)

A few tips: Dab the adhesive fluid on cardstock in an area large enough to cover your stamp and more. I did 2 layers of the enamel, then stamped. Be sure to press firmly and give it a minute to cool before pulling off the stamp. Don't forget to ink up the stamp with the Adhesive Fluid and then the Tuxedo Black before melting the powder, so you'll be ready to stamp!

House of Cards - Add a Bow (or Bows!)

I'm a work at night person (who enjoys sleeping), but I love mornings. There's so much promise at the beginning of the day...and I want to start the week with a high five...so...

Today I'm happy to share with you some good news - Mynn of the House of Cards challenge invited me to join their Classic Design Team! It's a great, easy going challenge with lots of inspiration. A monthly challenge with a new style represented each week. Something for everyone! Check out the DT's blogs in the ~~right~~ left column...so fab!

This month's challenge is ADD A BOW (OR BOWS!). Here's my card...

We've got dry embossing on the background, out of the box stamped & Copic colored image (colors coming soon!), thermal embossing on a tiny punched tab and, of course, bows - 2 of them!

Begin by squeezing a small puddle of the Adhesive Fluid. Dip your paintbrush and paint the tail feathers (don't forget to leave space for the other color!) Sprinkle on the Micro Black. Heat and let cool. Repeat using the Ruby Red Slippers for the tail feathers, the comb and wattles.

When cool, use a small sponge or cotton swab to add the red, orange and yellow inks to the rooster.

The fence has 2 layers of embossing enamel. The first layer is Brownstone. Apply it randomly, leaving small open spaces. Heat and let cool. Add the Aged White layer to fill. Use Vintage Photo to ink up the edges of the fence.

Adhere the rooster/fence and other Accents using the Glastique. Coat the small flourishes and flowers using the 3D Gel in Titanium White. Let dry.

That's it! Enjoy your upcycled mixed media frame!
