O Lord, in your great goodness and mercy you promise forgiveness and salvation to those who repent of their sin against you. You, Lord, are the God of righteous people.

Repentance was not necessary for Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for they did not sin against you. But for sinners like me you have made repentance possible. I have committed more sins than there are grains of sand along the seashore.

They are so many, Lord, they are so many. I have done so much that is wrong that I am not worthy to turn my face towards heaven. I am crushed beneath the weight of my sin; I am bowed down by its heavy iron chain. I can find no relief, for I have made you angry.

I have set up idols everywhere; I have done what you hate. But now I bow in deep humility, praying for your mercy. I have sinned, Lord, I have sinned; I confess the wicked things I have done. I beg you, Lord, I earnestly pray: forgive me, forgive me. Do not destroy me because of my sins; do not be angry with me forever or store up punishment for me.

Do not condemn me to the world of the dead, for you, O Lord, forgive those who repent. Show me all you mercy and kindness and save me, even though I do not deserve it. Then I will go on praising you as long as I live. All the heavenly powers sing your praises, and your glory endures forever Amen.

Work Accordingly to the Will of God

Each person has to work according tot he will of God. When we understand this, we will never face any difficulty or problem in carrying out our day to day work. On the other hand we will be filled with the joy of the Lord. For this we have to keep two things in our mind. First accept that whatever work we do, we do it for the Lord. But in reality the contrary is happening; we all want to do our will not God's will. The Word of God says "There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me" (Phil 4:13)

Without working hard we are not able to gain anything. When the Lord is with us, we will be able to do everything. We read in (LK 18:27) that "He replied, things that are impossible by human resources are possible for God." for doing good less energy is consumed than energy used for doing bad. "May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light" (Col.1:11-12).

In our day to day life for everything both good and bad alike, we have to exert energy i.e. work. For e.g. for eating, dressing up, for drinking etc. our energy is exerted. After satisfying our basic necessities also, we continue to work for achieving out higher expectations. We should not forget that "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain" (Ps.127:1)

In the same way we work for achieving bad things such as satisfying bodily desires, reading bad books, fighting each other, maintaining illegal relations etc. In short we spent more of our energy on bad things than good things.

Then with much grief and anguish of heart I wept, and with groaning began to pray:

You are righteous, O Lord

and all your deeds are just;

all your ways are mercy and truth;

you judge the world.

And now, O Lord, remember me

and look favourably upon me.

Do not punish me for my sins

and for my unwitting offences

and those that my ancestors

committed before you.

commandments.

What is the meaning of forgiveness....?

We now try to find out the meaning of forgiveness for our lives. It is good to understand the way the forgiveness works in our lives. We find many occasion of forgiveness in our daily life and how we tackle the situations. It is looked through three different angles namely expression, devotion and expectation.

Expression - love: Forgiveness always expresses in love. Without love forgiveness is incomplete. So if anyone claims that he forgives and cannot express his forgiveness, in reality he is never able to forgive. The real forgiveness is expressed in love towards all, even to the enemies. There is no distinction in its expression. The heart becomes clear and one can love from the heart. This is the real sign of expression of love. There are no more burdens, pains, hurt feeling in the heart instead the heart will be occupied with love, joy and peace. This expression of love will not in between. When love flows there are no blocks in between nor does it break from time to time if it is genuine love. Those who learn to grow in love? may go through the breaking and blocking of the love.

Devotion - Love: In real forgiveness the devotion is only towards love. What is not true will not be accepted by them. If not our devotion is towards the truth. Those who speak the truth and guide us into truth will become our best friends. those who are leading us to sin and evil will never be taken as either friends or advisers for our lives. In real forgiveness, our devotion is towards love not to any of our material gains. The benefits and gifts will not change our attitude. If there is no proper love and forgiveness our interest will be in things and the person we like most not in those who are genuinely interested in our growth into love.

Expectation - Love: The human life gives the best result in it only when it is guided and lead to the habit of love. There is no life that can be beautiful without love. The expectation of forgiveness is love. When we expect love only then we can have it in our lives. When we stress that our desires to be fulfilled in our lives then there comes unforgiveness. The forgiveness will work only if we expect love and work for love. There is no other middle pathway. When our expectation turns from love and moves to anything else that can lead us tot he feeling of resentments, negative anger, hatred, unforgiveness etc. Then be sure that we have not forgiven. When our expectation moves around selfishness the same thing can happen. When we are biased or when we become partial, or even when we expect our own good i.e. anything other than love can lead one to the same situation of unforgiveness in one's life. The channels of love work only when we are in the line of love and in the expectation of love.

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Saviour of the world. God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God. So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.

God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness on the day of judgement, because as he is , so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
