I ❤ Chelsea Boots

I have wanted a pair for ages and while I've ordered quite a few (mentioned here)...they were all returned. For some reason, they were meh! You know, how you buy something then regret buying it because you realize you would never wear it? That's how I felt until now. Leave it to Marc Jacobs to design a pair with all the qualities I was looking for. The fine Italian craftmanship and overall construction of these boots are superb. Big plus, the contrast between the heel and boot sold me. Not to mention, they are comfortable an added benefit when running around here in the city.

Now, you're probably wondering, how many pairs of shoes do I need (especially boots), right?

Answer: a woman can never have too many shoes...

However, to be honest I believe my boot collection is now complete. These can be found here, here, and here available in several colors.

That being said, it doesn't mean I ~~can't~~ won't purchase flats or pumps. *WINK* They don't call me a shopaholic for nothing! ;D

First Fendi 'Anna' Bag

I first noticed this bag during the Fendi Fall 2011 runway show. While browsing Barney's online I came across it at a ridiculous price (last one left), I knew I had to have it.

It's called the 'Anna' available in a varied colors and sizes. Celebs, fashion industry types and fellow bloggers alike have been seen carrying it. The small featured is quite spacious (fits all the necessities) when you don't want to carry loads. Also, the colorblocking using spotted calf hair is different than anything I've seen before. When buying handbags, I prefer those that are versatile/functional. I love this as it can be carried or slung over the shoulder. The styling of this bag is classic and gorgeous and will be used for years to come.

These are few accessories purchased during the month of May. I haven't been clothes shopping much, however, as you can see I've been on an accessories tear.

I have wanted a Rebecca Minkoff bag for while (couldn't decide on which style). LOL Therefore, I headed to Bloomingdale's to narrow it down. Mission accomplished, my first purchase would be a Mini MAC (Morning After Clutch) found here, here, or here. I ordered it online with coupon code for 25% off first purchase....SCORE!!! It's the perfect size when you don't want to carry loads (as I often do). It fits keys, phone, wallet, lip balm, gum/candy...the necessities. They come in a wide variety of colors (reads: this will not be my one and only);D So happy with my purchase...officially a 'Minkette'

All jewelry are a recent purchase from H&M, if you're interested, you should be able to find them. The last piece is a hair accessory which I plan to DIY by adding a pin to the back to wear as a sort of brooch. I thought it would look cool as an accent to a button up shirt at the collar.

I'm counting down the days until my vacation ✈....4 weeks to go! :)

I can honestly say I would wear just about everything from H&M's Fall 2012 Lookbook including a few items from the Men's collection *(all women should shop the men's department like second nature). The sweaters to the jackets/blazers are A++ in quality.

The designs especially the embellished sweater, skirt, and hat are extremely beautiful. There's something about encrusted jewels on a garment that perks my interest. They look glitzy/regal adding a spark of interest to an outfit. Done properly of course! ;D

Will be counting down the days until the Fall 2012 collection hits stores. I can't wait to see/touch each item...entire collection here

Kevork Kiledjan Fall/Winter 2012

Right, we are in the middle of "Spring" weather, whatever that means as mother nature can't seem to make up her mind. In all honesty, it's been downright miserable worldwide. I'm tired of the fluctuations (one day cold/rainy, next day warm/beautiful). ARRRGGGHHH!!! MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY!!!

I started preparing my wardrobe by adding pastel/bright colors, however, I seem to have lost focus. Instead, I've been revisiting the Fall/Winter 2012 runway shows. One in particular is the Kevork Kiledjan Fall/Winter 2012 show. I'm in love with the entire collection ...especially the shoes featured throughout. A black suede (pointed) stilleto pump by Jean-Michele Cazabat. They are by far the most ascetically pleasing shoe on the foot. SHOE PORN! I had a stalking session at Barney's). ;D The streamline fit and use of leather by Mr. Kiledjan reads downtown cool girl meets rock 'n' roll chick.

Gorgeous shoe, huh? Fave look is the jacquard print suit....Tres Jolie!

New In: Alexander Wang Rocco

It all started back in 2009, where I first laid eyes on the Alexander Wang 'Coco' (now named Rocco) bag during the Fall/Winter show. I instantly fell in love with it as I had never seen a bag like it before. It was edgy and totally badass with studs along the bottom. At the time, the 'Coco' didn't have a shoulder strap which is why I passed. It wasn't functional rather it didn't fit my personal style.

Fast forward to 2012, apparently, my love for this bag never left especially since it was revamped to include shoulder straps. I began stalking websites/forums for up to date information (i.e. how the bag functioned, wear and tear, etc.) I even went as far as to ask perfect strangers in the street about their bags. O.õ Yes, I'm a weird one!

"Celebrities", models, and fashion bloggers alike have a love of the 'Rocco' as well. The soft pebble/elephant skin like texture of the leather is gorgeous. It really is a lovely handbag available in a wide range of colors/hardware. I decided to go with basic black/Rose gold studs which is stunning in person. This combination has become highly sought after/cult classic. Not readily available as with some of the other colors. If anyone is in search of it, I ordered mine from Barney's New York.

H&M 'Exclusive Conscious' Collection

Some of you may have seen a few of these styles (part of H&M 'Exclusive Conscious' collection) already worn by Michelle Williams, Amanda Seyfried, Viola Davis, and Kristin Davis. Michelle wore a custom made gown to this year's BAFTAs and Amanda wore an uber stylish tuxedo short suit to 'In Time' London premiere.

All pieces are eco-friendly made from sustainable materials such as recycled polyester, organic cotton, and hemp. They will be available on April 12, in approximately 100 H&M stores worldwide, as well as selected items online. The blue tuxedo short suit and the multi-floral dress w/matching jacket are my favorites.

BTW, doesn't model Constance Jablonski looks absolutely gorgeous in the H&M press photos?

A Few Bits and Bobs

Here are a few bits and bobs picked up on a recent trip to H&M. I mainly picked up accessories/jewelry and the coveted cropped floral print pants/trousers(only $14.95)here. They're available in solid colors, if you're not into prints. Didn't see any at my location, would have loved it in pink as well. I'll admit, they smell a bit odd from the dyes used, easily taken care of with a quick wash. They have stretch to them and fit true to size. Although, I'd recommend you take a few in the same size to try on as the first pair I tried seemed stretch out (perhaps, from previous try-ons) second pair was the charm.

Well, don't just sit there! Go and get yourself a pair. The sunglasses/sunnies remind me of the Celine 'Large Audrey' pair here and here at a fraction of the price. Bracelets/cuffs/rings are self explanatory....had to have them. ;D ~~They~~ I would have been sad if they didn't come home with me.

Arrival from London \o/

Yes, they finally arrived my much talked about boots from (Office UK) thanks to my friend (Aga) in London. ;D I've already raved about them on Twitter. They are indeed as beautiful in person as they looked online. Also, very comfortable and true to size (I'm a UK 5 which is equivalent to a US 7.5-8). The overall quality and construction gets high marks. I will be taking them to the shoe repair for them to protect and place a metal bracket around the heel as seen on the Chloé 'Susanna' Boots featured in previous post here.

DKNY Fall 2011

My aunt is visiting this week from Canada and I'm so happy to see her (far too long since her last). As usual, she came bearing a couple of gifts which I greatly appreciate. We both share a love of fashion and shopping. As pictured, I received a faux fur mink jacket and the 'Mary' Oxford Bootie both from DKNY. The jacket is quite thick and lux (been searching for one like this w/ no success). It will definitely keep me warm. I don't believe I'll wear it this season. NYC temps have been above normal. Unless, we get a sudden cold snap(unlikely) *sigh* :(

The shoes were featured in the Fall 2011 runway show (pics)and ~~are~~/were available in 2 other color combos. You can click this DKNY link to see other colors. I like them because they're different, not your typical bootie. I don't have anything like it in my shoe wardrobe. Most of my shoes are black. As with clothes, I'd like to incorporate color to my footwear.

Obsession: Chloe 'Susanna' Boots

Let's start from the beginning. It was 3 years ago when Chloe launched the 'Susan' boots. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE went nuts for them and quickly sold out. But, wait, they'rrreee baaaaack with a relaunch (renamed 'Susanna'). Okay, I'll admit, I had nightmares about these boots and when they sold out the first time around I was deeply depressed. :/ When they returned, it didn't stop me from going to Saks Fifth Avenue(repeatedly)to try them on. The sales associates were sick of seeing me there. I was obsessed again. Yes, they are LUSH/GORGEOUS boots! But, given my budget...I really ~~couldn't~~/can't afford them (STICKER SHOCK $1295).

This made me more determined to find an alternative. Office Shoes UK had a great dupe 2-3 years ago, so I revisited their site. Sure enough, they had another which looks better than the previous. Long story short, they sold out before I could get my grubby hands on them. I missed them for a second time. :( NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Or so I thought.

To the rescue, my dear friend Aga (lives in London) spotted them in Office and sent me a picture. What would we do without technology? I couldn't believe it. We corresponded back and forth with me asking her details of the actual boots. I was a bit apprehensive as to their overall quality...she set my mind at ease with her answer. ((Thumbs up on quality and construction)) What a sweetheart for finding and offering to ship them to me. I can not thank her enough...truly a GEM! Hope to return the favor.

Aga, if you're reading this thanks again, hun! I know how much you loathe shopping. LOL ^_^ *HUGS*

Those who live in the UK and are looking for an alternative to the Chloe boots...grab these while you can as they are selling out (Westfield location only had one pair left in my size UK5). It's a popular item. HAPPY HUNTING!

Barney's Warehouse Sale

Suno 'Splatter Print' Faux Fur Jacket

I ventured to Barney's Warehouse Sale to browse. Sadly, the shoe department was a disappointment. Nothing was a standout. Next, I moved onto the clothing area and again sort of blah! I began to think this was a waste of time until I spotted this gorgeous jacket shoved in a rack (as if someone was trying to hide it expecting to come back later to purchase it). BINGO! I instantly grabbed it, tried it on receiving several compliments and began looking for the price. It was missing, therefore, I made a B-line towards the price check desk.

The sales associate began the tedious task of searching for a price. After a few minutes, she gave up...it was then given to a manager. She too became frustrated, it wasn't in the system. I was shocked when she turned and offered me a deal. How does $159 sound? Shocked at my reply, $129 sounds even better (wait was I bargaining at a Barney's NY Warehouse sale?) BLASPHEMY! To my surprise she said okay! WHAT?!?! Is she serious, for Suno! The clothes from this designer is quite pricey. Who am I to complain, grab it and go.

Once I returned home, I googled it. The original price was $895 the lowest sale price I found was $358 (sold out).

O.O*

The print is unusual and looks one of a kind. Hope to wear it soon.

I love finding that unexpected bargain. Don't you?

I can't wait for Spring to wear the Floral Motorcycle Jacket...I'd wear it now, but, with five weeks of Winter left I just can't do it! It's too pretty to be worn currently. Don't you think? Besides, I'm still into my layering. LOL

It's clear...I'll be wearing a lot of pastels and florals this Spring with bold jewelry.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2012

As you all are well aware, New York Fashion Week (F/W) 2012 is in full swing. One of the most anticipates shows was that of Alexander Wang. The venue was quite large and the gold mirrors used on the runway was interesting. It was as if the models were walking through a maze. All culminating at the end with Supermodels from the past and present strutting down the runway and ~~staring~~ rather posing in front of the mirrors .

This was a very grown up collection from Alexander. There was a strong use of leather throughout. The jackets were of special interest to me...wish I could have seen and felt them up close. The color ranged from black, white, and burgundy/maroon (deep blood red). I fell in love with the boots upon first sight. Listed above are a few of my favorite looks. I'm especially in love with that white form fitted dress...wouldn't mind adding that to my collection. I've also included a videos for your viewing pleasure.

I'm in love with colored jeans! I already own a few in red, royal blue and purple. I own the J Brand '811 Mid Rise' Skinny Jeans shown above in purple).

Story: You won't believe the deal I got on those. I paid just under $50 for them (retails $169-$176). I came across them (Bloomingdale's) on one of my weekend shopping adventures. ^.^ I literally got goosebumps and ran into the dressing room to try them on. You don't understand, I get really excited finding bargains like this...long story short they fit. I would recommend them to anyone as they make your legs look super long b/c of the higher rise and fits like a glove. As I always say, why pay full price for anything? Head for the sale racks, GIRLS!!! You may find a gem.

Here are a few of my picks for Spring 2012. Each color can easily be dressed up or down. The possibilities are endless. You can easily find cheaper versions at Zara, H&M, Topshop, Asos.com, or Forever 21. Found here here and here.

In case you're wondering, my fave higher-end jeans are J Brand, Citizens of Humanity, Paige Denim, Acne, and Genetic Denim.

Don't be afraid of adding color to your wardrobe via jeans.

Zara Spring 2012

Spring 2012 has a wide range of fashion that will fit all personalities. From stripes to polka dots, primary,neon colors to pastels. Long to short, asymetrical to florals...you'll definitely find something.

Zara (one of my favorite stores) has done it again. I'm always amazed by their clothes from season to season. These items stood out for me and are on my ~~short~~ list. Most items sell out quickly...SO GET SHOPPING!!!

I'm so happy the US now has online shopping. Delivery is quick usually 1-2 days depending on where you live and returns are easy.

A friend of mine visited last week for a few days. We've been friends since high school...aka "partner in crime" back in the day. It was great seeing/catching up with her again. I wore my new Doc's (above)for comfort during our adventure in Soho ~~she~~ we couldn't resist shopping (so many sales so little time). The story of my life!!!

Soho is (in my opinion)the best place in NYC for eating, shopping, hanging out or people watching. You never know what you'll see in any given moment.

First stop, AllSaints Spitafields ongoing sale (up to 60% off or more instore and online). I purchased two items the Marquis Jumper here and the Italus Shearling Low Boots here, both provide extra warmth. I was going to get the taller version here, but it didn't fit properly. However, they looked amazing on my friend who also purchased the Damisi Boots here after repeated questions about mine. @_@

Next stop, Bloomingdale's a couple doors down. We headed directly for the shoe department. All shoes were 50% off select items and already marked down prices plus extra 15% for cardholders (win win \o/). The department looked like a hurricane hit it...a mass of women trying on shoe after shoe. GAME ON!!! When it comes to shoes/clothes I'm like a lioness stalking its prey. Managed to snag these Belle by Sigerson Morrison 'Erica' Shearling Boots here and here. Despite the heel height, they are really comfortable. Also purchased a DKNY Vintage Leather Handbag here and (french brand) Sandro 'Repenti' Dress here. Found this studded bow handbag here at Zara's looks similar to the Christian Louboutin's handbag here. Final stop, H&M only purchased the necklace (above). The Spring collection is out, but, couldn't buy one piece as my brain is still wrapped around winter and layering. The clothes are stunning though! Will do an upcoming post about it.

Great way to kick off 2012 with some much needed online retail therapy. The current sales are difficult to resist. Much of the after Christmas sales were a huge disappointment. :( Now, retailers are moving old merchandise to make room for their Spring 2012 collections. This does not bode well for a SHOPAHOLIC or does it?!? O.o Some damage was done...but, hey, they are all well deserved items. All were ~~watched~~/stalked with great care and finally seeing them on sale gave me the incentive to "pull the trigger".

My current obsession are shoes done in velvet/velour (as you can see). I literally screamed when I saw the Penelope Chilvers Chelsea boots....they're simply BEAUTIFUL!!! I remember wearing Dr. Martens in my high school/university days (ah! memories) loved them then and love them now. These are a "grown up" version, ~~I originally wanted the red pair, however, my size was sold out~~. Not long after posting this (the next day), I received the red pair...thanks to my wonderful brother. Will be returning the black pair. A girl can never have too many shoes, right? The Ash 'Nina' Boots caught my eye during a google search for another item. It was destiny (really?!?)...these will be my go to boots.

The Zara items are self explanatory...love of store + sale = shopping spree. ^_^ The pattern on the Navajo print pants/trousers are a stand out...can't wait for them to arrive. I tried them on in store (weren't on sale) and instantaneously fell head over heels!!! The sweaters/jumper/cardi jacket are staples in any wardrobe. The red sweater/jumper in particular is a great alternative to the Isabel Marant sweater seen here. The Reversible Waistcoat is another stand out piece. I had to get it as it can be layered with so many things especially during winter here in New York. That is, should it get cold here...it's been unusually warm for January.

I also purchased a jacket and coat from Free People seen here and the other from Maison Scotch via Gilt Groupe seen here. Both are reminiscent of the Isabel Marant jacket/coat seen here and here.

H&M The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Collaboration w/ Trish Summerville

I'm a huge fan of the trilogy The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and I'm super excited to see it on Dec. 21st. I will be one of many in the theatre at midnight w/my tub of popcorn and Milk Duds (rather, I'll be sneaking in a meal as I often do). Let's face it the prices charged for popcorn/beverages at the theatre are outrageous.;D

Ah, yes! back to the clothes...that's why we're here.

H&M has collaborated with (costume designer) Trish Summerville for their Divided line. When I first heard about it a couple of month's ago...I couldn't wait to see the end product. H&M/Trish didn't let me down....I'm quite impressed with the pieces. The color palette consists of black, gray, and deep red. What's not to love? If you're a fan of the books and Lisbeth Salander or are into dressing in that sort of Swedish street/grunge/rock chic style THIS IS FOR YOU! If you're not, most of the items can be incorporated into any wardrobe to give it an edge. The line will debut on Dec. 14th online and in most H&M locations around the world. For those, that live in NYC there will be a pop-up store located in the Meatpacking District.

I can't believe December 25th is almost here. Where has the ~~time~~ year gone? Just thought, I'd share a few things on my wish list. As you can see it contains shoes (well, a girl can never have too many, right?) @_@ I've been stalking the Acne 'Pistol' for ages, unfortunately, they are waaaaay out of my price range. Luckily, I came across the Dolce Vita 'Jax' a great value. I ~~must have~~ need the Steve Madden 'Banddit', the overall quality of these are top notch and the smell (yes, I said smell)...ahhhh! leather heaven. A classic oversized watch is a no brainer in any wardrobe (timeless (get it)....haha...sorry, I'm such a dork!). Adele's (Live from The Royal Albert Hall) and Beyoncé's (Live from Roseland) DVD's make a great stocking stuffer. *Hope Adele will tour New York City again...missed out last time she was in town. BOO!!! :( I'd love to see her live...she amazes me. I know someone else who would love to see her...A we're going!*wink* Finally, I've become obsessed with floral clothes (I normally don't like/do florals), however, these have definitely caught my eye.
