Graduation Party!!!

I have been planning this party for nearly a year (since we attended some graduation parties last year).

I have been crafting since January for this party knowing I would be super busy once baseball season began.

Tyler is attending Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, IA in the fall to play baseball. We are super proud!!!

Both cakes came from Hy-Vee and were delicious!!! We have so much left over :)

I made this banner to hang in the entryway of our home. It has a tennis ball, bowling ball and baseball on each end as well as a T for Titans. You can see how I made this (as well as close up photos) HERE.

I saw this on Pinterest and wanted to make it for the entryway table. You can see how I made the pennant HERE.

In my basement, I usually have toys and kids. We transformed the basement into our Tyler Shrine! My daycare kids love T-Bird and we made a banner with their handprints (footprint for the baby) to hang with his photo boards.

I included pages from his scrapbook and some 8x10 photos on the poster boards. I used some baseball cuts from the Silhouette store to complete the posters.

Since our party was the week after graduation, I included a board with Tyler and several of his friends taken just after the ceremony. I used my cameo to make the Class of 2013 and Congratulations Graduate signs. The photo canvas did not photograph well (the same image is on the cake above) but it is super cool - our favorite senior picture!

The baseball moms made posters for all of the seniors for senior night. Tyler is our catcher, so I used the catcher for him from Baseball Cricut Cartridge. We used infielders, pitchers and batters for the rest.

I included a 2-page layout for Tennis.

I also included a 2-page layout for bowling along with his bowling shirt.

We had a popcorn bar set up in the basement kitchen. We had plain popcorn, blue popcorn, m and m's, skittles, licorice bits, sweetarts and hot tamales! My favorite food item and Tyler's evening snack!!

I left the Word Wall up but replaced the daycare words with words that describe Tyler.

I found this banner at Wal-Mart and replaced the graduation cap with this Titan cap I found at Nobbies (Oriental Trading).

I created a Photo Booth with a sheet and some fun props. Some props I purchased from the Silhouette Store, others I created on my Gypsy. I purchased the glitter top hats from Target (dollar section) and had two feather boas - blue and black.

We are very proud of Tyler! His academic success in high school will serve him well in college!! We are grateful for everyone who came to celebrate with us at his party! Even with the rain and the AC acting up - it was a great time!!

And now that graduation is done, I will be able to craft non-graduation projects!!!

Summer Fun Mini Album

Today is my day to design at CricutDIVA!!!

I found these 45 records at the thrift shop and thought they would make fun mini album covers!!

I re-created the record on my Gypsy using two circles sized 7 inches and 3 inches.

I used vinyl for SUMMER FUN using the font Cherry Limeade sized to .75 inches.

I sized my letters by leaving the layer with the "record" on it open. That way I knew my title would fit.

I cut out 3D flowers from Atriste sized from 3 - 5 inches out of sheet music and cardstock.

I inked the sheet music to match the cardstock. I used my tweezers to roll up the flowers and liquid glue to adhere them. I attached them to the cover with glue dots.

I traced and cut out chipboard circle pages and covered them with sheet music. I painted the edges of the pages with a bright blue acrylic paint.

I made some photo mats and cut out some flip flops and beach tags to attach to the corners.

I cut out a wave and some fish and tied the tops with twine.

I like to make a pocket for my mini albums and include tags or coordinating paper scraps.

I cut out layered flowers from Mother's Day Bouquet sized from .88 - 2.53 inches. I cut them out of sheet music. Cutting did not go well as the paper is on the thin side, but I got enough to make my flowers.

I cut out some images from Life is A Beach. The flip flops are 1.82 inches. The tags are 1.75 inches. The gecko is 3 inches. I cut the images out in cardstock.

I tied a little twine on the tags.

I attached the gecko to the back cover.

Baby Boy Mini

I hope all of my mom and grandma friends had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday!!!

A friend recently had a baby boy and I made this mini for her.

I started out with a chipboard album from Michaels that was burlap on one side of each page. I flipped every other page over to have a burlap cover and back, as well as the middle two pages both burlap.

I cut out the boy pieces from my Cricut Imagine Nursery Tails cart at 2-3 inches each.

I painted the edges of the book pages with a bright blue and inked the images with the same color blue ink pad.

I covered these pages with a green leaf paper from my stash. I cut out a star from George and trimmed off the pieces that hung a little over. I included a photo mat on the next page for a crib photo right next to the key information (height, weight, length and date). I included a little twine.

I used a brown patterned paper for photo mats and pop dotted these baby boy images to the edges.

I like to make a pocket in all of my mini albums and add tags and small pieces of matching papers for additional photos and notes. I used my ATG gun to adhere the sides and bottom of the pocket to the page.

I added another photo mat and image to the last page.

I put some brown paper on the back of the album and tied ribbons to the rings.

This mini album can be used as a brag book for mom or grandma!!

Now on to my project:

I started out with a chipboard album from Michaels. One side of each page is covered with burlap. I flipped every other page so I had two sets of burlap pages together, and two paper-covered chipboard pages together (plus the covers).

I grabbed the phrase "Home is where your Mom Is" from the Silhouette Store and cut it out in pink and light green. I made an offset shadow and cut that out in hot pink cardstock. I layered some 3D flowers from the cricut cartridge CTMH Art Philosophy with some recollections flowers and butterflies from Silhouette Store.

I tied ribbon from my stash to the rings.

I wanted to keep the inside plain. I painted hot pink paint to all of the page edges. I inked some cardstock squares (for photos) and added a butterfly and crocheted flower to these pages.

The next set of pages were covered in fun papers and hot pink photo mats. Again I used a paper butterfly and crocheted flower to accessorize.

I like to make a pocket in each of my albums, usually towards the beginning or the end. I added "Mother" from the Silhouette Store. The pink photo mat on the opposite page has another butterfly and crocheted flower.

I love making mini albums to give as gifts. I have a special mom in mind for this one :)

Graduation Card (Black, White and one color challenge FD)

Welcome to Frosted Design's Black, White + One other color challenge!

I used my Silhouette Cameo for this fun card. I purchased the card from the Silhouette online store.

I cut the pieces out in black, white and blue cardstock to match my son's high school colors.

I used my ATG gun to create the pocket. I used my fine tip glue pen to adhere Congrats 2013 to the front of the pocket.

You can see the flaps tucked under.

For the cap, I used some blue and white twine to make the tassel and taped it to the underside.

I adhered the cap to the card with my ATG card.

The pocket is just perfect for a gift card!

I have been making lots of graduation cards, but this one looks the best!!!

Teacher Appreciation Gift

Hello and Happy May!!! Today I am the designer over at She's A Sassy Lady!! I love May - it is spring, my birthday is around the corner and school is almost out!!!

This time of year we thank our teachers for all of their hard work during the school year. I always tuck in a gift card to Michaels or Target along with hand sanitizer, pencils, erasers, post-it-notes and highlighters, etc. I also like to make a note pad for the teacher.

Tanner's teacher used to scrapbook. She gave me three boxes of scrapbook paper and supplies!!!! I used some of her paper to make these projects!!

I am trying to use my Cameo more, but I really don't know how to make step-by-step tutorials like I do on my Gypsy yet!!!

The first thing I made was the gift bag.

I bought this image at the Silhouette store and sized it to 7 inches wide. I cut it in red paper. I cut a strip of apple cardstock sized 1 inch by 10 inches and tied some twine around it before I used my ATG gun to adhere it to the bag. I adhered the words to black cardstock (7x10) with a glue pen and adhered the paper to the bag with my ATG gun.

I used another cut from the Silhouette store for my note pad. I cut out "a is for apple" out of green cardstock and tied a little red twine on the a.

I use 3x5 blank index cards for my note pads. They come 100 to a pack, I use 50 for my note pad.

I trim chipboard or watercolor paper to 3 1/8 x 5 1/8 for my covers. I adhere paper to the front and decorate it up!

I use my Bind-it-All to put the note pad together!

The card is simple. I used a stamp from Pink By Design Our Teachers (I believe it is a retired set). I cut out the tag image on my cricut for another project but had some leftover. I wrapped some twine around the apple paper, pop - dotted the tag on and put two green crystals on the sides.

It is hard to see in this picture (we have not seen very much sun in Nebraska this spring!!!) but I stickled one of the hearts with red.

I hope Tanner's teacher knows how much we appreciate her!!!

Now on to my project:

We are planning a trip to Walt Disney World this September. Tanner will be almost 8 and this trip will be more about rides and attractions than standing in line for character autographs.

I am creating pages for our character meals and then decorating the rest for photos of our trip.

I LOVE re-using files on my Gypsy!!!

I re-used my Gypsy files from previous autograph books I made. I changed up the designs and added some shadow images to create these pages.

I cut Disney from Mickey Font at 2.29 inches. The banner flags are from Birthday Bash and sized to 2 inches. The numbers are from Mickey Font and are sized to 1 inch.

I re-used the images from my 2010 album. Here are the original pics:

Here is a shot of the pages with the autographs and pictures!

This time I wanted something different. Note: I used stickers for the characters on these pages. I find it very difficult to cut any Disney character smaller than 4 inches because the pieces get very tiny. This time I went with silhouette shapes.

I used Pooh Font for the letters and sized them to 1.06 inches.

The pooh and friend images are from Pooh and Friends and are sized to 2.76 inches.

I cut them out in black cardstock.

I wanted to use the honey pots as banner flags. I sized them to 1.32 inches in order to fit the letters. I cut them out of yellow cardstock.

I used Crystal Palace - a previous welded design. I welded a mickey head to the letters. Inside the Mickey Head, I grouped (not welded) the C and P. Mickey heads are 1.12 inches and the letters are .65 inches.

The rest of the letters will be used on another set of pages for our character meals at Chef Mickey and Tusker House.

Here are the updated pages:

My original design had giant honey pots in the center of the page. This time, I made smaller honey pots and made banners with the character's names. I added some hexagons behind pooh and color blocks behind piglet, tigger and eeyore.

I made tigger's banner bounce!

I used Tim Holtz Scattered Straw stickles to drip honey from the honey pots. I pop-dotted the honey pots above the twine.

I pop-dotted the images on the pages. I added an extra honey pot to Pooh's hand.

This may be our last trip to Disney for a while, so I am trying to use up my stash of Disney paper!!

I had this paper left over from our trip in 2011. The back side was blue, so I re-used the 2011 papers to make the pages that will hold photos.

I re-used this file from my previous autograph books. I welded 6 mickey heads ( 1.12 inches) together to make an 8 inch border.

I used the 2011 papers I had left over to make the following sets of pages.

These pages can be used for autographs or just photos.

The last time we went to Disney, Tanner surprised me by wanting to get autographs. That was 2 years ago and I have a feeling he will be more interested in the rides this time!! I am planning on more generic pages this time!!

My last page in the album:

I cut out these Mickey and Minnie images on my Silhouette. This is the paper after the cuts were made (the paper we typically toss). I trimmed it to 7x7 and adhered it to a piece of red 8x8 cardstock. I added the love to the bottom from a Silhouette image.

This page will be the last page in the book.

In the Garden Journal

Do you know a mom who loves to garden? This may be a wonderful Mother's Day gift for her!!

I covered a composition notebook with some paper from Good Day Sunshine paper pack that I found at Hobby Lobby.

I purchase the cut in the Garden from the Silhouette Store.

I trimmed a file folder to 7 inches wide and adhered it to the inside of the cover.

I made a pocket inside the folder for notes about plants - plants you like/dislike/want/don't want.

I included a pocket in the back cover for notes for next year. I used Walk in My Garden Cricut cartridge for the flower pot borders (.87 inches each) and flowers (1 inch each). I used Hannah Montana for the font sized to .88 inches.

I included some butterfly ribbon and a paper flower to the cover.

This will make a great gift for anyone who love gardening!!

Yummy Note Card Set

Hi!! I am super excited to share this Yummy note card set today at CricutDiva!!

I am also sharing this card set with my dear friend Sheila at She's A Sassy Lady today!

I made a set of 3x3 cards with truffles on them from the Cricut Imagine Yummy Cartridge.

I printed out the light pink distressed-look pattern on white cardstock to use as background paper for my cards. I cut them to 2 7/8" squares and adhered them to my note card (3x6 folded in half).

I printed and cut out the three truffles and mini cake at 2" each. I inked the edges in Vintage Photo ink, and added a little stickles to each piece and let dry.

Before I adhered the patterned paper to the card, I wrapped a piece of 3Girl Jam 1/3 the way up the paper. I chose the blue to bring out the bit of blue in each card.

I got the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch - super cool new toy!!! I wanted to make envelopes for my little note cards.

Making the envelopes were fun, once I watched a YubeVideo on how!!

I found this Enveolope Gum at Archivers to seal the envelopes. I just painted the glue on and let it dry. It just needs a little water to seal.

I made a little folder to keep the card set in - this makes a great gift idea!!

I started with a piece of Kraft cardstock and cut it to 8 1/2" x 6". Placing the paper horizontally on my Score Board, I scored 2" up from the bottom to create the pocket.

I turned the paper to score the fold lines. I scored at 4 1/8" and 4 3/8".

I used my ATG gun to adhere the center of the bottom flap (pocket) to the spine of the folder.

I punched a hole on each side of the pocket. I ran a piece of 3Girl Jam ribbon across the inside of the folder and used a glue dot in the spine to hold the ribbon down.

When you close the folder, simply tie a pretty bow.

What a Yummy Gift card set! These are great for teachers, friends or even secret pals. I included this set in an Easter Swap gift with another paper crafter!

I used Nursery Tails and my Cricut Imagine to print and cut out the baby girl pieces.

I bought this chipboard album at Michaels. One side of each page is covered in canvas, the other side is blank chipboard. I flipped every other page so the canvas was next to canvas.

The blank pages were covered with a pink cardstock. I used some patterned paper to create photo mats and a pocket.

The bib and bottle are pop-dotted on the corners of the 4.25 x 4.25 inch square. I did not stick down the pieces that overlap the mat so a photo can go under them.

You can see that I inked the edges of the pages in bright blue.

I added a butterfly from my stash on the back. The Baby is from Cricut Alphabet.

I added my bling to the cover. I put gems on the bodies of the butterfly and dragonfly as well as BABY.

Today we are celebrating a very special little girl's first birthday. She has had a difficult fight this past year and we felt what better way to celebrate her life than have a blog hop!
Felicity has touched many lives even though she is not even one yet. Every day she makes therapists, doctors, and even her family smile.

For my project today, I am making a project for the patients and their families at the Arkansas Children's Hospital. I am being a blessing to my friend Sherry Honeycutt.

Sherry's house burned down in 2004 and her precious Macy died in the fire just weeks after her 7th birthday. Sherry and Macy's twin brother Andrew were treated at the Arkansas Children's Hospital and both recovered from their injuries. Sherry is hosting a Card Drive in memory of Macy to benefit the current patients and families at the hospital.

Here is the description of the event:

It's time for the 2nd Annual Cards for Kids for Arkansas Children's Hospital in memory of my daughter, Macy. You can help by either making handmade cards (will take store bought as well) and sending them to me, donating goods (their wishlist is attached), or donating financially and we will shop and/or make a financial donation as one. Last year we donated over 100 cards, plus 20 necessity packs for the burn unit, and clothes and toys for the hospital.

Sherry's blog is HERE and her FaceBook Event page is HERE. She is making this a year round project!!! One thing I found out after I sent my blank cards in, she wants some of the cards to be signed by us to give to the patients!!

Here are some of the other cards I am sending Sherry. Some are cards I made for blog hop projects, others are old designs that I had saved on my Gypsy and just re-cut.

This is my feature card. I used Gypsy Wandering for the frame and flower.

I put two of the frames on the screen at 4 inches. I hid the inside of the left frame and welded the two together.

I added the flower shadow layer inside the frame sized to 3.47 inches.

I also placed the flower (also sized to 3.47 inches) on the mat.

I ended up cutting a second card in pink and trimmed off the left side to make a background color. I added some stickles to the center of the flower.

I hope you consider making some cards to send to Sherry!! I sent cards last year and am happy to send some each year. Thank you Felicity (and Happy Birthday) for giving me the opportunity to share this with so many people today in the blog hop!!

I used a phrase from Winter Frolic for my title. I sized Oh Christmas Tree at 1.35 inches.

I chose two shades of green cardstock for the cuts. I adhered the C R S M S onto the title.

I wanted the title to stand out a bit, so I cut out a tag to adhere it onto.

I found this tag on CTMH Artiste and sized it to 1.59 inches. I cut out two tags since the paper I used was thin.

I adhered the two tags together, then adhered the title on top.

I used my Tim Holtz distress marker (Barn Door) to ink the edges.

I cut these ornament borders from Winter Frolic at 1.47 inches.

I ended up cutting out two each in red, green and gold metallic cardstock.

I trimmed 1/8 inch off of each edge of my music cardstock to create a border behind it. I kept one of the strips and adhered the ornament borders onto it. I overlapped the ornaments to add interest.

I adhered this strip down on my layout under the pictures.

I adhered the ric rac ribbon on top of the border strip. This give me an ornament banner.

This quote was on the bottom of the music cardstock - the 1/2 inch that has the bar code that you typically cut off and throw away. I trimmed it out, inked the edges red and created a border with a scrap of green cardstock.

I started out making my own doilies out of cardstock, but then I found these red doilies. They are leftover heart shaped doilies from Valentine's Day. I really like the red color! I trimmed them and positioned the doilies to look like circles.

I adhered the title on top of the photo. It may be hard to see in the pictures, but the song printed on the cardstock is Oh Christmas Tree - how perfect for my layout!!!

I also loved the cardinal in the bottom corner so I made sure not to cover much of him up.

We have at least 3 trees every Christmas. This tree is our live tree. I love that Tanner is on Mike's shoulders in order to reach the top of the tree!! Tanner decorated the entire tree this year :)

Now for my project:

My husband has coached baseball for 17 years so far. We have several (and I mean a LOT) of baseballs in our garage. I was able to get him to let me use 14 of them for a wreath project that I saw on Pinterest. He grumbled something about "wasting perfectly good baseballs" as he collected them :)

He drilled a hole in each ball. Look what came out of the middle!!

I untwisted a wire hanger and strung the balls on it.

I twisted the ends together using pliers.

I found this baseball glove on Boys Will Be Boys and sized it to 3.50 inches.

I re-used this banner flag. It was an extra piece from another banner. Both of my boys are playing on baseball teams and wearing blue.

The red and white twine is from a Christmas candle. It was tied around the top as decor and I kept it.

I inked the glove and layered the pieces. I glued on some knots from leather cording to make the glove look real.

I strung the banner with the twine and a couple of strands from the burlap ribbon. I tied the banner to the sides of the wreath.

I tied a bow out of burlap ribbon and attached it to the top of the wreath.

This wreath hangs on my front door!

Graduation Cards

Happy Graduation Cards!!

My middle son is graduating next month and he has a lot of friends. I am making a LOT of graduation cards!!! I typically don't like to mass produce my work, but in this case I would drive myself crazy (and run out of time) if I didn't!

I did use a file from Silhouette to cut out the jumping graduate and hats. I am new to Silhouette but I still prefer the Gypsy. I can file all of my project pieces in one place and refer back to them when I need measurements for blog posts.

I LOVE having the option to open several layers in a project too. This project has 12 Layers and three card designs.

I used CTMH Artiste for the scalloped circle. I sized them to 4.62 inches (3 inches using Real Size).

On one page, I hid the outer circle so I cut out the scalloped circle. I cut these out in white cardstock.

On the second page, I hid the inner scalloped circle and cut out the shadow circle. I cut these out in black cardstock.

I used Birthday Bash for the numbers and sized them to 1.25 inches.

I custom the colors of the numbers to match the school. I have an entire page of 2013 to cut out in blue for my son's school. The red and maroon are for some of his friends from other schools.

I used my 5" Xyron to put adhesive on my numbers.

I saved a piece of the leftover cuts to use as a stencil. I placed my numbers inside the template and carefully peeled off my blue "leftover" paper. I do this to line up my letters (or in this case numbers) perfectly every time!

I added some matching twine and stickles to finish the card front.

I punched a 2" circle and stamped the sentiment inside.

This card I did a little different on the outside.

I am off to finish the blue cards!!!

Teacher Appreciation Posters

Teacher Appreciation is coming up! One of the things we do in our Elementary School is volunteer to make posters for the teachers and staff. I had to stop myself at 4!!! I only have 1 in elementary school, and in addition to my son's teacher, I picked the Librarian, SPED Teachers and a 6th grade teacher.

I used my Gypsy and a 12x24 mat to line up my letters and use the template (leftover piece) to adhere my letters perfectly! All of my posters were inspired by Pinterest!!

First up is the poster for Tanner's teacher. Tanner picked this one out. I used Plantin' Schoolbook for the font and Hannah Montana for the butterflies. I wrote each student's name on a butterfly and added some stickles.

For our SPED Teachers, I used this quote that I saw on Pinterest. I used Hannah Montana for the font. I hid the circle inside the "a" and added a heart also from Hannah Montana. I grouped the heart and the"a" together.

I added four hearts sized to 3.77 inches for the teachers. I used Nate's ABC's for the teacher names.

Mr. Rodningen is one of our 6th grade teachers. He loves rocks and displays them in the window sill of his classroom. Every morning our children have the option to participate in walking club. When it is cold, rainy or snowy, we walk inside the building. Recently we walked inside and I noticed his rocks for the first time. I saw this poster idea on Pinterest but did not think it was a good choice for the female teachers.....but it was perfect for Mr. R!! No one had signed up to make his poster yet so I took it!!

I used Batman for the font. I tore and inked paper to look like rocks.

I had soooo much fun making this one!!! I realize that school librarians are now Media Specialists and they do so much more than read books, but I could NOT resist this design!!!

I started out with 7 pieces of white cardstock and painted them red, green, lt. green, orange, purple and lt. purple. I added some white and darker shades of each color to create a finger paint look.

I cut out the letters from Nate's ABCs and traced them on the back of the papers and cut them out. The heart is hand drawn.

I traced part of the heart and sketched the caterpillar on the side. I hand cut out the pieces of the caterpillar from the green and light green papers.

Most of you know that I have an in-home daycare. I currently have 5 (of my 8) families who are teachers. I love our teachers and truly believe they have the most important job - shaping our future leaders, managers, presidents, etc. They work long after their day is done and are on several committees, mentor programs, morning/afternoon duties - they give so much! This is the least I can do to give a little back!!

Baseball Pennant

Hi!!! I am so excited to share my very first CricutDIVA post with you today!! It is official - I am a DIVA!!!

My middle son is graduating from High School in just over a month (sniff, sniff). He is also a baseball player (catcher) and I have been working very hard at making his graduation party decorations.

I was inspired by a post on Pinterest to create my centerpiece.

I started with my Gypsy Girl and opened a 12x24 mat.

I used the shadow of this pennant from Locker Talk sized to width 15.24 x height 7.12.

Once I sized the shadow layer to 7.12 inches, I put all of the pieces for the banner on layers of my Gyspy all sized to 7.12 inches.

I used watercolor paper to cut out the base of my pennant. Watercolor paper is very sturdy and it cuts well on the cricut. I use it for banner flags and mini album pages too.

I used multi-cut of 2 and the blade depth at 5 (which is the depth I use for cardstock).

I put the pennant in the next layer of my Gypsy, sized the same. I wanted the pennant to be white and the tassles to be blue, so I hung the tassles off the mats.

I cut out two in white cardstock, one for each side. I trimmed off the edges and adhered one piece to each side of the watercolor paper layer.

In Gypsy Layer 3, I put the tassels, borders and the numbers from Varsity Letter sized to 2.28 inches.

I cut them out in blue paper (I call this shade Titan Blue for my son's high school).

In Gypsy Layer 4, I put the baseball layer from Boys Will Be Boys sized to 6.15 inches.

On the bottom half of the mat, I put the numbers from Varsity Letter sized to 2.28 inches.

I also put the graduation cap from Recess sized to 1.82 inches.

I cut out the baseball in white cardstock and the rest in black cardstock.

I decided later I wanted a second graduation cap so I copied and pasted one to the next Gypsy layer along with the base of the baseball. I cut them out in black cadstock.

I opened a final Gypsy layer and kept the eyeball open on the tab so I could see the baseball base (shown in grey). I copied the baseball onto this layer and sized it to 6.74 inches to create a shadow. I cut the layer out in blue cardstock.

I adhered the blue tassels on the pennant. I cut several strands of twine and tied a knot in the center. I used my ATG gun to adhere them to the blue tassels. Once adhered, I trimmed the edges of the twine.

I used my Sew Easy to punch holes in the border piece. I used the red and white twine to stitch around the edges.

I pop-dotted the border piece to the pennant.

I adhered the baseball layers and pop-dotted the number 8 (Tyler's jersey number) and the graduation cap to the pennant.

I used a liquid glue pen to adhere blue and white twine to the edges of the pennant.

On the other side of the pendant, I adhered the numbers and pop-dotted the second graduation cap.

Before I adhered the border to the pennant, I used ATG to adhere a wilton cookie/cake pop stick to the pennant. I reinforced the stick with some tape.

I pop-dotted the border on with an extra layer of pop dots to account for the height of the stick.

Here is the reverse side of the pennant.

This will be a center piece for one of the food tables at Tyler's graduation party.

Travel Mini Album

This week at Frosted Designs, our new 2-week challenge begins. Our theme is TRAVEL!

I covered the 6x6 chip board pages with paper from Heidi Swap - No Limits paper pack.

I used several cuts from my cricut. Many were from Going Places.

Enjoy life is from Graphically Speaking.

I created a pocket by adhering three sides of a 6x2 piece of paper to the bottom of the page. I used my ATG gun.

I put a 6x6 square on my mat to represent the page. I overlapped a 6" star from George and GROUPED (not welded) them together. I wanted the two tips of the star cut off.

I copied and flipped another set so I could cut out the cardstock and paper for both sides.

I love this star page!! I used the negative piece around the Road Trip! and backed it with light blue paper and tucked a ticket behind it.

I added a tag and made another pocket.

I added the age old question to the back - Are we there yet??

I finished off the rings with some ribbons.

I loved this paper pack because of the orange and blue and touches of travel. This will be a fun mini album to add photos to.

Sympathy Cards for a Special Lady

Hello! I have such a hard time making sympathy cards. I try to tailor the color scheme or theme to the individual. This individual was very dear to me. Helen was my SIL's mother. My SIL is like a little sister to me and I just loved her mom! I was so sad to learn that Helen's health was declining.

Helen's favorite color was orange. She loved flowers and animals. I made two cards, one for her husband and the other for Amie (SIL).

I am sharing these swing cards today at the BugBytes. I just love these cards from CTMH Artiste cartridge.

I have a file in my Gypsy titled cards.artiste and I have all the cards saved with coordinating shapes.

I put two of each card (sized to 5 inches) on a page so that an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock will cut both.

I used kraft cardstock for these cards.

I used this butterfly from Hannah Montana sized to 1.16 inches for one of the cards.

The circles came from Artiste and are sized to 3.51 inches. I hid the scallops on two of them.

The flower shape is from Mother's Day Bouquet and sized from 1 - 1.82 inches.

I used cardstock papers to cut out the pieces. I used my McGill stylus to round up the flower petals.

I added some crystals to the butterfly and outside of this card. I also added a strip of orange patterned cardstock to the inside edge.

I stamped an orange scalloped circle with Sympathy from Pink By Design stamps

I adhered the scallop edge from the orange circle to the yellow circle and added the butterfly layers.

On the second card, I used washi tape to make leaves and adhered the flower on. I added a crystal to the center of the flower.

Again, I stamped the sentiment on the inside. I added some washi tape to the inside of this card.

I have many fond memories of laughing with Helen! I am so glad she was in my life :)

For my project today, I created an Easter layout.

I am a gypsy girl and naturally I grabbed my G and started looking for Easter and flowers!

I started out with my title Easter Blessings from CCR Exclusive Easter Blessings and sized the layers to 2 inches.

I cut out the chick from Easter 2010 sized to 1.35 inches

I loaded my cardstock on my mat and cut out the pieces.

I cut some grass (that sounds funny) from Easter 2010 sized to 2.76 inches.

I cut out some flowers from Easter 2010 sized to 1.71 inches.

I cut the tulips from A Child's Year sized to 1.55 inches.

I copied the flowers onto the bottom of my mat to cut them out in green for the leaf layers.

I cut out flowers in yellow, pink and orange. The grass and leaves are in green.

The blue I originally cut did not look as good as I hoped, so I re-cut Easter Blessing out of pink.

I inked all of the grass and leaves. I added the chick in front along with some stickles. The flowers also needed some sparkle, so I added stickles.

I will add a 4x4 photo of my boys from Easter in the center of the yellow mat.

I really like this paper from DCWV Collage Art stack as a background.

Vintage Mini Card Set (Paper Wings)

I used the stamp set Vintage Technology for my project today! You can find it in the Paper Wing Shop HERE.

I used paper from The Colorful Life 8x8 paper pad. I originally stamped my images on white cardstock, but decided that maroon paper looked better.

I made a folder out of cardstock and adhered a pocket inside.

I made four 3x3 note cards using 3x6 kraft cardstock and scoring them in half.

I trimmed the patterned paper 2.75x2.75 inches and adhered to the front of the card.

I fussy cut the stamped images and added the sentiment.

I also stamped the typewriter on white cardstock and stamped DEAR on the letter. I adhered the white paper on top of the typewriter.

I tucked the cards into the pocket.

I stamped an additional phone for the cover. I can't wait to use these cards!!

Easter Photo Booth

We had a fun Easter!

I made a photo booth for something fun for the kids.

I used a file from Silhouette for the eyeglasses, moustache and mouth:

I learned how to Release Compound Path on an image to separate the image into parts. I was able to pull out the center of the mouth and delete it so I could create a bottom layer.

Here is Ci Ci (my Cameo) hard at work. I am getting used to her, but she cuts slower that my E and makes weird sounds!!

Here are the cuts.

I used hot glue to attach the Wilton cake pop sticks to the back of the pieces.

I added some foam glasses, some headbands with bunny ears, stick on moustaches and a flower all from Michaels. I hung up an Easter banner from last year on the sheet I tacked on the wall and - presto I have a photo booth!

The kids had a great time with the photo booth. It was a test for me to see how it would go as I am planning one for Tyler's Graduation Party next month!

Love Mini (File Folder)

I am super excited to be at She's A Sassy Lady today.

I do not have an April Fool's project for you, unless you count the big April Fool's joke Mother Nature has been playing on us!!!

I am using spring colors because I am waiting patiently for spring weather to come!!!

I saw a project similar to this a while back and wanted to give it a try. I am taking a short break from scrapbooking - I have been at it hard and heavy since my middle son will graduate next month and I have to have his album completed!!

I bought a pack of 10 file folders at the Dollar Store and paired one up with this yummy DCWV Stack of paper called Collage Art. I found this at Michaels.

I took one of the file folders to make a template. I folded the bottom 4" up to create a pocket. I then folded in 4" from the center out on each side. This was easier than measuring from the outside edge due to the tab.

I have seen other dimensions, I just kind of eyeballed what I wanted and measured.

The banner was fussy cut from one of the squares.

Can you believe I did not even use my Gypsy or Cricut???

I used my ATG gun to adhere the edges of the pockets.

I cut some pieces from the paper pack. One page had several sayings and a couple of journal tags on it. I trimmed them to fit my space.

I inked all of the edges in pink.

Here is the back. I used a big piece of yellow paper to cover the back.

I adhered some 3Girl JAM ribbon under the paper in order to tie the mini album closed.

This was a fun little project to make. I have 8 more file folders and lots of paper so I will probably make more :)

Now on to my project:

I wanted to make a cute gift bag. I did not have the exact paper I wanted to use, so I used my Cricut Imagine to create a piece.

I used Imagine More to print this light blue paper. Instead of polka dots, this paper had flowers on it. I figured I could alter the paper and make it work for my project so I printed it out.

I found this adorable hippo on Birthday Bash. I sized it to 8.5 inches.

I added the little hippo layer to the card sized to 2.06 inches to my mat.

I cut them both out of the blue paper.

I inked the edges of both hippos with Vintage Photo ink and a fantastyx.

I dabbed Close To My Heart dutch blue ink to the front of the hippos.

I put the rest of the pieces I needed to cut out on another Gypsy layer.

I sized the ice cream cone and ice cream to 8.50 inches.

The hippo toes, eyes, nostrils and belly button are also sized at 8.50 inches.

The card base is cut out at 2.06 inches.

The phrase is also cut out at 2.06 inches.

I cut out the cherry and leaf at 8.50 inches, but decided to use stickles instead.

I used white, brown (chocolate ice cream) and patterned paper to cut out my pieces.

Here is the little hippo gift card. I added some stickle toes to him!

Here is a peek inside the card.

I assembled the hippo and decided I needed some grass for him to stand in.

I used grass from Paper Doll Dress Up sized to 2 inches.

I cut out the clouds from Create A Critter sized to 1.35 inches, 1.47 inches and 1.94 inches.

I inked the grass and trimmed the bottom off and adhered it to the bag. I tucked the hippo's toes behind the grass.

I inked and stickled the clouds.

I stickled the ice cream cone.

Finally, I tied the tag to the handle of the bag - now I just need to tuck in the gift!!!

Pool Party (Frosted Designs)

I recently went to a weekend scrapbook retreat - my first WEEKEND retreat and it was a treat!!! I got both of my boys' albums mostly caught up!!

This page is for Tanner's album and is a page of our Mexico trip we took last October. We spent most of our afternoons in the pool - it was amazing!!

When I scrapbook, I start with my photos and build my layout around them (colors, papers, titles, layout) and I like to showcase as many photos as I can without looking like a photo album!!

I knew I wanted a big background piece, so I started with this scallop circle from CTMH Artiste sized to 11.12 inches. This shape is on several cricut cartridges in case you don't have Artiste.

I planned on placing it off the page a bit and I wanted it to be pretty close to filling up the page.

For the titles, I used Splish Splash and Pool Party from the H2O cartridge.

I sized Splish Splash to 3 inches and cut off the Splish.

I sized Pool Party to 3.47 inches. I cut it out three times so I could create a layer for the drink. We had lots of drinks (virgin drinks for the kids) and we all enjoyed swimming up to the pool bar!

I cut out the cup in silver and the lime in lime green. I used lime green stickles to fill up my Margarita! I had more pina coladas than margaritas, but I did not have the perfect color of yellow stickles!

I overlapped the photos with my title - it was more important to me for the words to stand out on the orange background than the drink!

I also journaled below the title.

I put the splash at the bottom.

The reverse side of this blue paper is a bunch of strips of patterns. I cut 3 inches off another piece and adhered it to the bottom of my blue paper. I trimmed a strip of flip flops and ran it over the layout just below the pictures.

This was a fun layout to create. I wasn't until my stickles was drying that I realized the layout met the Scallop Challenge (score)!! I did not take as many photos this time for that same reason (bummer)!!
