Intro to Journaling

hello lovely people!

once in a while i like to explore other ways to craft...but i am hesitant because i think sometimes i can't do a good job like the others however the process is exciting and so much fun. these past weeks i have not been very active here and kind of lay off some of the blogs that i forever read..but you know what i am so thrilled that i found a lot of new blogs that are quite lovely to be my inspiration. this first blog i stumbled upon while i was searching some eclectic home ideas on Google, she is Ms Tamar of Nest Decorating. it is such an honor to see her colorful and very artistic blog. oh Ms Tamar, i think i can live inside your eclectic home. oh by the way, you might want to check her shop, im sure you will also fall in love with her jewellery. *wink*

i just started journaling last week. my hubby and i agreed that we would spend time more in our spiritual disciplines which is our DQT or Daily Quiet Time with God. it involves praying and daily reading and studying of His Word. so i thought maybe i can incorporate my love for journaling even though i just really had began making it. so i came across this blog. it is definitely worth reading and following. i found Ms Moss' blog Dispatch From LA recently out of my eclectic home ideas search on google. warning this blog will really make you fall in love with little details of journaling. i am very much happy that i came across her blog one time. when you have time make sure you visit her blog and learn from her different styles in journaling.

anyways, i would love to show what i have accomplished so far in my journal.

hi everyone!

summer is here! most of the people can't wait---i still love spring because i easily get over heated when the sun is scorching hot in the summer. this season's DIY projects are so popular for moms because they have more time with their little pumpkins and munchkins. school is out. time to let them sleep in. and lots and lots of fun time!

we don't have any kids yet so my schedule is kind of open for anything specially crafting. i love collecting craft, home decor, DIY magazines and here you go this Japanese washi tapes are so in! (: they are patterned masking tapes that are so pretty like fabric with different designs and color.

i thought it's just a simple tape. however, i found many uses of it. oh dear, i think i am really getting behind all these craftiness!

So Long But Good News

hello lovely ladies!

talking about a comeback? yes i am definitely PRESENT in the cyber world tonight. 3 YESES! (: i am going to use this opportunity to thank you all for supporting my blog no matter what. i have just finished throwing a party for my loving hubby last Sunday. it went well though we have a couple of showers that time. the food is good. i think the guests are happy and sustained! *wink* guess what birthday parties are getting more fun and exciting. i couldn't get any excited whenever i plan and prepare. at first i have the theme of circus. after a day i wanted Robot. then finally, i ended up with carnival. so the food were not so heavy but enough to make everybody still sing a happy birthday! KUDOS!

thank God also that i have talked to some friends that will be involved in my online shop. 2 girls that make up for my model and make-up artist. isn't that lovely? (: hubby and i went to Hobby Lobby and got my dress form of course for the shop as well.

i bought a couple of new craft books also from Books-A-Million. i guess they have to give us more discount because we are quite a frequent customer lately. congrats to hubby, he got himself a Nook Book. i am happy for him. he was dreaming of it, talking about it and now enjoying the techy gadget. you can read all the Tom Swift you want, honey! (:

our cat Jolly spent 2 days in the cage of our neighbor for they trapped him because they are just not cat lovers and somehow Jolly ended up killing four of their birds. boy, the first time i cried so much over a cat. i felt like the whole world crushed over me. i think i cried like that when i first got heartbroken. imagine that? hubby and my parents told me not to retaliate but just pray and exercise more patience. you know what? our neighbor knocked and they said they want to give back Jolly to me with a condition that i will not let Jolly and my other two cats roam their yard. sad but happy you got it? i broke down in tears when i got my cat because i missed him so much. i thought i would not be able to get him back from them.

my sister is already processing her passport. i really hope Lord willing that she and my parents can visit me here. i am so bored sometimes. i believe they will make a change in my lonely face sometimes. also i would love to go to church with them and sing too with them if we have time. that would be something to look forward to.

i got the package from my mom. and again it's small but full-packed with goodies. more supplies for my small accessories business and some food too!

truly, if we count our blessing and start counting them one by one---we are going to run out of time. it's because we can't out give GOD. He is the Only Source of our blessings. not to mention not only materially but spiritually. without Him i am nothing in this world and perhaps will not be able to come back to you all here.

SMILE for GOD is GOOD ALL THE TIME!

i am quite busy being MIA lol! these days i sometimes don't have the energy to blog because i am currently working on some of the jewelry orders i have. i don't know if i have mentioned to you a while ago on one of my posts that i am planning on opening my online shop yes STILL in the process though because this girl couldn't afford to have a brick and mortar one! so for the goodies i have finished currently, i have some snapshots of them (: feel free to look and if something tickles your fancy you can post a comment below or email me about the pricing and shipping...enjoy! however the trends now in accessories and fashion jewelries are bold and vintage inspired, i try to make a special style of my own mixed with some shabby chic feel on them. i am also not going to compromise my faith. it will still promote decency and purity because i believe that in everything i do, i do it for the glory of my Lord Jesus Christ. He gave me this talent so i want to give back the glory due Him (:

Historical Significances: Rahab trusted Israel's God and not only found personal deliverance when Jericho fell, but married an Israelite and produced a son who was in the line of David and Jesus Christ.

EXPLORING HER RELATIONSHIPS

Rahab's relationship with God. Rahab had heard about God. Unlike others in Jericho, she chose to acknowledge and trust Him.c
Rahab's relationship with the Israelite spies. Through Rahab's conversation with these two spies, we discover how familiar the pagan nations of the Promised Land were with the story of the Israelites and the miracles performed by God on their behalf. Further, it's clear that the stories were believed to be entirely true, and that the citizens of the powerful city of Jericho were terrified when they learned that the Israelites were camped outside their city. It seems curious that this woman of ill repute was the only resident of Jericho whose heart was not hardened. Instead, she opened not only her home to the spies, but she opened her heart to the God they served and whom she in turn learned to serve.

A CLOSE-UP

From outward appearance, Rahab the harlot would seem the least likely person to be assimilated by God's chosen people. Yet we can infer much about her character as we examine this story closely. Rahab was a woman of strong courage as evidenced by her willingness to commit treason and help the enemy. When her king called her to bring out the spies who had been seen entering her inn, she said, "Yes, the men came to me, but i did not know where they were from. And it happened as the gate was being shut, when its dark, that the men went out. Where the men went I do not know; pursue them quickly, for you may overtake them" (Joshua2:4,5).

She was a woman devoted to her family. When she struck the deal to protect the spies, she asked for protection not just for herself but for her family as well. She apparently had some influence in her family; when she told them to come to her place, they showed up there. They trusted her judgment and put their lives in her hands. It seems obvious that Rahab was intelligent and quick-thinking. She used her savvy to protect herself and her family. Her leadership is evidenced by the way her family responded to her.

AN EXAMPLE FOR TODAY

1. Rahab demonstrates that we don't have to be perfect for God to use us in significant. We do need to respond to Him in faith and with integrity. When we do, He will, as He did for Rahab, melt away the impurities of our character and mold us into the kind of women and men He would have us be.

2. God is free to use whom He will. We pass judgment on what we see, but we can only see the outward appearance. God also passes judgment on what He sees. But He sees inside and out--yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

3. Rahab reminds believers not to be judgmental. All have sinned, and but for God's grace, all would be doomed. God extends us His grace. We must extend His grace to others regarding not what people may seem to us, but what God may intend them to become.

A Dress For All Time {Monday Madness #4}

POP Question: do you ever feel so gurly when you are wearing your favorite dress?

personally, i do!!! aside from my husband's request that i wear dress or a skirt when we go out, i am loving it now! back in the old days, women are supposed to wear just a dress or a top and skirt. but all sources of media taught us it's ok! what's OK? to dress up in denim jeans paired with any top we want. i love to embrace that women should look women even as we clothe ourselves much more to how we talk and walk. wow i am not being from WL (Women's Lib) in fact it was mentioned in the Bible in 1 Corinthians 11: 1-16.

let's take a look on a commentary of these verses.

The first verse of this chapter seems properly to be the close to the last. The apostle not only preached such doctrine as they ought to believe, but led such a life as they ought to live. Yet Christ being our perfect example, the actions and conduct of men, as related in the Scriptures, should be followed only so far as they are like to his.

Here begin particulars respecting the public assemblies, 1 Corinthians 14. In the abundance of spiritual gifts bestowed on the Corinthians, some abuses had crept in; but as Christ did the will, and sought the honour of God, so the Christian should avow his subjection to Christ, doing his will and seeking his glory. We should, even in our dress and habit, avoid every thing that may dishonour Christ. The woman was made subject to man, because made for his help and comfort. And she should do nothing, in Christian assemblies, which looked like a claim of being equal. She ought to have "power," that is, a veil, on her head, because of the angels. Their presence should keep Christians from all that is wrong while in the worship of God. Nevertheless, the man and the woman were made for one another. They were to be mutual comforts and blessings, not one a slave, and the other a tyrant. God has so settled matters, both in the kingdom of providence and that of grace, that the authority and subjection of each party should be for mutual help and benefit. It was the common usage of the churches, for women to appear in public assemblies, and join in public worship, veiled; and it was right that they should do so. The Christian religion sanctions national customs wherever these are not against the great principles of truth and holiness; affected singularities receive no countenance from any thing in the Bible.

In Losing Kittens (Sunday Solitude)

hello friends..how do i start this?

i have been meaning to post so much stuff going on in our little rural life here in Florida, but situations won't permit me. lately, hubby and me were dealing with catching up on our yard chores of course because it's already warming up. yardwork, gardening and such are the ones that keep us busy pretty much aside from attending to our lovely little pets.

i have mentioned from my other posts that we have 4 critters running and playing around the yard...we have 3 cats and 1 dog. all the cats are set out free in the yard because i don't want to tie up hubby with cleaning their litterbox. he said i can't clean it since they carry a parasite that can harm a pregnant woman..let me tell you i am not preggy but we are in the process of getting. so he took over with it...happy me lol. but the news is our female cat got pregnant and she gave birth last Thursday to 4 premie kittens. i tried giving her a box to deliver there but hubby found her kittens outside just by our AC. sadly, 3 of them died already when we saw them...and we tried helping the other one live by the way his name was Lilie..it was soo hairy like his mama cat..but unfortunately it died the next day..and let me tell you when Frosty the mama cat delivered the 4 kittens, we thought it's done..but we're wrong she had another kitten that day but afternoon. thanks to my sister-in-law, Tati..she was the one who helped mama cat deliver this one kitten. we named him Pacman because we think he is a fighter---his name is based from a Filipino famous boxer (:

Frosty is a young mama and doesn't really know about nursing and just simply taking care of her litter, surprisingly, Rocky our dog was more concerned. we fed Pacman through syringe feeding or the little bottle my sister-in-law gave us. she also bought this special formula for baby pets and that's what we used. so he was growing, doing better and you bet he is crying louder too.

this morning, hubby woke me up with a sad news that Pacman died. we left him with mama cat last night in my craft room..they like it there because it's warmer there. apparently, mama cat smothered him because she was trying to keep him warm. me and my teary-eyed hubby can't believe it. he was more in touch with that kitten. he would even cuddle it close to his chest to warm pacman. :(

i think we are going to get mama cat fixed since she doesn't know how to be a good mama to her kittens.

but for now i just want to show some cute kitten pictures that i have found online.

MOD Clock {DIY}

i am personally fond of DIY projects myself so the other day hubby and me went thrifting and i found myself a wall clock. i always want to make my own stuff if necessary not only to enhance my artistic side (: but also i think it is way cheaper and prettier.

so stay along wih me. i call it a MOD Clock

Step 1: Gather all the materials needed: any small wall clock, scrap paper, pencil, glue, buttons, phillips screw driver, and a pair scissor.

Step 2: Remove all the screws around the clock so you can put your own background.

Step 3: Trace the inner part of the clock, mine is round since i used a round clock. you need this so you would know the size of your background.

Step 4: Cut the traced circle then prepare the 12 buttons you will use. you can also anything that tickles your fancy like stickers or coins etc.

Step 5: Glue and place the buttons where the original numbers of the clock are placed.

Step 6: Put the screws back to attach the front part of the clock to the back.

A Treat for Myself

so i woke up with a hungry belly huh!

the other day ago hubby and me went to this GingerBread House in our place. aside from learning that they will open a bakery soon which i would love to work..i applied and we also tried their food. this store opens Monday-Friday; 10:30am-2pm. after trying their food i hope they are open until supper. but i guess for now they are serving lunches only. so i ordered their #11 Ranch Chicken Club. oh boy i have never had this before. it is so tasty. they never failed me in the slightest. super yummy.

it had been on my mind since then, so when i woke up today that's the first thing i did. i called to make my order and walked there to pick up my yummy order.

Monday Madness #3

hello lovelies! the past weekend went so good. hubby suggested that we go visit our churchmate who is in the hospital. she is a very sweet lady with heart of gold and for the Lord. then we went thrifting in Salvation Army in that bigger city. haha. Chick-Fil-A for supper filled our bellies. yum! and a local craft store visit too. so Michaels was what we have chosen for the day.

i was talking and kinda promoting my online shop on my previous posts. since i love things from the past, my shop will be filled with vintage goodies. i will also make accessories that cater the young and old.

i am so inspired to start my shop..in fact i am currently creating and designing a website that will also be an abode for my goodies and also will link up to this blog. double YAY!!!

so for today let us peek into the trendy world of vintage and chic accessories.

Name: Hannah [HAN-nuh: grace"]
Historical Significances: Hannah became the mother of Samuel, Israel's last judge. Hannah's desperate prayer at the tabernacle led to the birth of her son, whom she brought before Eli, the priest.

Fifteen judges ruled the people of Israel during a period of four hundred and fifty years; that is, from the death of Joshua, till Saul was chosen as their first king. Samuel was the last of these judges; and he was a priest and a great prophet, as well as a ruler of the people. His father and mother were Elkanah and Hannah. They were very good people, and year by year went up from the place where they lived to Shiloh, where the Tabernacle had been set up, to worship and offer sacrfice to God.

All the Israelites were obliged to do after they were settled in the promise land. Hannah had no children; and as she was grieved that she had none, she prayed to God, when worshiping at Shiloh, to give her a son, promising that if He would, she would dedicate him (that is, give him up) to the Lord God, in the service of the Tabernacle, from his childhood. God granted her request; and when the child was born she called him Samuel (which means "Asked of God"), because he had been given to her in answer to her prayer.'

The first time after his birth that Elkanah and his family went up, to worship at Shiloh, Hannah did not go with them. She told her husband she would not do to so till Samuel was weaned, and then she would take him with her, and leave him with the priests, who might train him to serve God in the Tabernacle. Elkanah bade her do as she thought best in the matter. So when Samuel was weaned, she took him with her to Shiloh. And when she had offered sacrifice to God, she told Eli the high-priest, who was also at that time judge in Israel, that she was the woman whom some time before he had seen praying in the Temple (as the Tabernacle was also called), and that Samuel was the child she had prayed for. And now, she had promised, she has come to give him to God, that he might be His priest.

Then, when Eli had given his blessing to Hannah and her husband, they returned home, leaving Samuel with him. And the child served in the ministry of the Temple, clad in a white linen garment that the priests wore. It was called an ephod. And every year that his mother came up to worship at Shiloh, she brought him a little coat, that she had herself made for him.

And as Samuel grew, God blessed him; and Eli, who was very old d nearly blind, was fond of this good little child whom everybody loved because he was good.

A CLOSE-UP

Hannah was a woman who for a long time could not enjoy her blessings. Her heart was so focused on having a son that nothing else seemed to matter. But life changed or Hannah when she surrendered the thing she wanted most to the Lord in a vow.

Hannah discovered a truth that Christ would teach to His disciples a millenium later. in Matthew 16 Jesus urged his disciples to deny themselves, to take up their cross, and follow Him. What, Jesus asked, can "a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26). The Greek phrase in our New Testament reflects a Hebrew grammatical construction in which the nephesh, "soul", serves as a reflexive pronoun. What Jesus was actually asking is, what can a person give in exchange for his or her self?

The disciples had a a choice to make. They could hang on to the old self or they could surrender all to Jesus and by following Him become the new persons God would enable them to become. I surrender, the disciples would discover not loss, but gain--as Hannah similarly discovered so long ago.

In surrendering to God the sonshe so desperately wanted, Hannah gained a fresh appreciation for the Lord, a deep sense of joy, and a truly satisfying life. She gained for sure knowledge that in surrendering Samuel to the Lord, she had set him on course to become one of the Old Testament's great men of faith.

EXAMPLES FOR TODAY

1. Hannah's life portrays how setting our hearts on something we do not have can rob us of appreciation for the gifts God has given us. It was only when Hannah surrendered the object of her desire to God that she found release from her anguish and discovered peace.

2. Hannah's prayer reminds us that when our motivation is right, God is more likely to say yes to our petitions.

Spring Is Here Yes I'm Back

hello lovelies i am back!

it's good to have a rest from all the cyber tempations at least once in a while. i need it! it was a week full of creativity and relaxation. but i have missed you guys, i so long wanted to update you all. a week without my Monday Madness, Woman of God Wednesday, Featured Artist Friday and Sunday Solitude is definitely a big change for me.

why did i take a rest? ok here's the story i really love this blog but it keeps me from accomplishing the more important things in the house and myself. last week i had my OB's appointment again. on my next post i will keep you posted (: and i have finished some of my backlogs. BACKLOGS? yes, even housewives do! finally, i have set our bedroom with the way we wanted. we were trying to keep things clean and organized. trust me. before it was such a MESS!

hubby and myself went thrifting also. i am excited to open my online shop soon soon. it will be full of goodies. sometimes it's weird because the reason i wanted to have the shop is to sell pretty things---ya it's given, but i have to remind myself constantly so i won't keep the stuff for me. *wink* lol. we learned that my cousin will stay with us so we bought a new couch--FUTTON that is

talking about homesick? i missed my mama's crab recipe. so last week we visited a local seafood store too. we bought a couple of yummies. this ol' lady was craving for some oysters and crabs. numnumnum. so hubby bought me one pack of oysters, 2 1/2 lbs of crabs and 2 pieces of tilapia.

i cooked the oysters and had it for my lunch---hubby was not so interested but it was alright. then we had a sumptuous supper that awaited for us
im sorry crabs.

also before i forget, strawberries is good this time of year. my mother-in-law gave a bunch. yummy!

Hello my name is Kate Peralta-Lahoylahoy. I am 30 years old and live in Quezon City, Philippines. I am a Baker/Cake Decorator. I get inspiration from all things beautiful. When I'm happy, I bake.

Tell us a short story of how you ended up being in your field

I've been baking since I was a kid with my mom. In college, we had a baking project, it was a big hit and so I continued baking again for family and friends. Suddenly, I remembered way back then, we baked cream puffs and out of excitement, my youngest sister helped take them out from the oven. They were so hot that she dropped the whole tray of puffs on the floor. We ended up laughing instead of getting mad because she was so cute. With that, I tried making them by myself when I was around 20 years old. The first try was a failure but I kept on trying and made such yummy cream puffs. I came to a point that I can literally make them with my eyes closed.

In 2009, there was quite a boom with online selling. I gave it a shot and sold over a thousand pieces online in just 4 months and so I used the name, Cream Puffs by Kate. After some time, I tried adding new products like cookie, brownies and eventually, cakes, fondant cakes to be exact.

I found so much joy and fulfillment in making fondant cakes because they never ceased to excite me. There was a burst joy after finishing a 6-hour decorating project. Every cake was unique and was a chance to improve my craft. Most of all, it brings an immeasurable amount of happiness to both me and my client.

What are your plans this 2012 that will affect your field? Why?

I plan on having something new every year to keep me excited. For 2012, I once planned on going full blast on offering my candy bar/dessert buffet but I had to put it on hold. I am now 3 months pregnant with our honeymoon baby, this one I am most excited about. Having a baby will change everything, I can no longer stay up late to bake and decorate. I feel sleepy all the time and when I'm awake, all I wanna do is lay down and touch my belly and talk with my tiny tiny baby. Yes, there are times that I wanna go back to taking 5 cake orders a day but I would quickly go back to remembering, I've been blessed with a baby, I'm going to be a mother, this is the best gift I have been given, I would not trade it for anything else.

Since I have lessened baking, I have been praying to our dear Lord to lead me to where I should be. I think I will be busying myself with pregnancy projects for the mean time. I'll make baby booties, baby blankets, things like that. Who knows, that could be a new craft/hobby/business for mommy me. (:

What advice/s can you give to those aspiring artists out there?

I mean, if you really love what you're doing, don't ever stop. Keep on looking for ways to improve your God-given talent. Another thing is to always share. I find delight in making a hundred cupcakes and donating to a charity event, in staying up late baking for a cake raffle to raise funds for the youth, or simply just to make a birthday cake for someone who hasn't been celebrating because they're struggling financially. I remember that girl, the advice I gave her was the same. Keep on sharing. I shared my cake with you, I hope I inspired you to share your talent (she has a great voice) and give back to the Lord the talent He has given you in the same way that I did for you.

Naomi and Ruth

my dearest friends, God is working on my heart. you know why? i noticed every time i wanted to post something about the latest trends in home decorations, fashion, recipes or any sort of arts n' crafts or merely anything that cries out in the net to be noticed..i always end up in a spiritually-focused post.

since also i joined in Kelly's challenge, i decided to read my Bible from the beginning and as i take the challenge deeper i realized that i would like to study the different lives of women who love, stay faithful and obedient to God.

lets take a look at the lives of Naomi and Ruth.

Scripture References: The Book of Ruth
When They Lived: About 1100 B.C.
Historical Significances: Ruth the Moabitess, influenced by her mother-in-law Naomi, married an Israelite and their son became the grandfather of David, in the line of Christ.

In the days when the Judges ruled over Israel, there was a famine in the land. And a man named Elimelech, who lived at Bethlehem-Judah, together with his wife Naomi, and his two sons, Mahlon and Chilion, left their home on account of it, and went to live in the country of the Moabites.

While they were there Elimelech died, leaving Naomi and her sons, who married two women of the country, named Orphah and Ruth. In about ten years the sons died also; and then Naomi hearing that the famine which had driven them from home had passed away, resolved to return thither with her daughters-in-law. But they had not gone far before Naomi, remembering that she was now poor, as well as a widow, thought it would be better for her daughters-in-law to stay among their own people than to go with her to what was to them a strange land. So she kissed them, and bade them to return to their mother's house, praying God to bless them for their kindness to her and her sons. Her daughters wept, and refused to leave here; but she urged them to do so, till at last Orphah yielded, and bidding Naomi a loving farewell, went back to her own home in Moab. Ruth, however, still clung to her mother-in-law; and when Naomi would have had her follow her sister-in-law, who was gone to her own peopke and the gods of her country (for the Moabites were heathens, and worshiped the idol Baal), she answered her,
"For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.
Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The Lord do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me."

So, when Naomi, saw how steadfastly Ruth loved, she ceased urging her, and they went on together to Bethlehem-Judah.

When they arrived there all the people of the place were surprised to see them asking, "Is not this Naomi?" but Naomi, full of sorrow for her dead husband and sons, and the poverty that had now fallen upon her, answered them, "Call me not Naomi (which signifies "Pleasant"), but Mara (that is, "Bitterness"), for the Almighty had dealt very bitterly with me."

It was the time of barley-harvest when Naomi and Ruth returned to Bethlehem; and they were so very poor that Ruth went out into the fields to glean after the reapers.

One of the chief men of Bethlehem was named Boaz, a very rich man, who was near relation to Elimelech, Naomi's husband. Ruth happened to go and glean in a field that belonging to him; and Boaz, seeing her, asked the man who was over the reapers who she was. The man answered that she was Ruth the Moabites, who had come to Bethlehem with her mother-in-law Naomi, and that she had asked him to let her glean in the field. Boaz then spoke kindly to Ruth, and bade her not to go to any other fields to glean, and he told her, when she was thirsty, to help herself to the drink that was brought to refresh his servants.

Ruth felt grateful to Boaz, and asked him how it was that he showed so much kindness to a stranger. He told her that he had heard how good a daughter she had been to Naomi; and that she had left her own father, and mother, and country, to come with her into a strange land. And he prayed that the God of Israel would bless and reward her. Then at meal-time he bade her eat and drink with the reapers. So she sat beside them; and Boaz himself set food before her. And when she returned to her gleaning, he desired the reapers to let fall some handfuls of grain on purpose for her, that she might gather the more.

When Ruth went home in the evening, she gave her mother-in-law some of her own dinner, which she had kept for her; and then she beat out of the barley she had gleaned. There was so large a quantity of it that Naomi asked her where she had gleaned that day. Ruth answered, in the field of Boaz. Naomi was glad when she heard this; and, telling Ruth that he was their near kinsman, she said she must contrive to see the great man again, and make him understand that the poor gleaner was nearly related to him. So Ruth did as Naomi desired her. And when Boaz knew who she was, he blessed her, and said that he would do for her all that the law of the Israelites required from him as her nearest kinsman.

Then he called together the chief men of the city, and before them, as witnesses, bought back the piece of land that had belonged to Elimelech, and to which Ruth, as the widow of his son, was the next heir. After that he took Ruth for his wife; and their son Obed was the grandfather of David, who was afterward the great King of Israel.

EXAMPLES FOR TODAY

1. Naomi is a wonderful example of lifestyle evangelism. She didn't try to talk to Ruth in the faith. Instead she loved Ruth and live a life that inspired Ruth to love and trust her. Ruth wanted the peace, character, and loving-kindness she saw displayed in her mother-in-law's life.

2. Naomi shows us to be a gracious-in-law. We don't know whether Naomi had counseled her sons against marrying out of their faith. We do know that she loved both her daughters-in-law enough to put their welfare above her own and eventually she did love Ruth to faith in God.

3. Many parents hesitate to offer advice to adult children. While we cannot force our will on them, we can share our thoughts and our wisdom with those willing to listen. When advice is given lovingly and with respect for our children's independence, it will often be welcomed.

4. Naomi is a glorious reminder of how God can transform a life from obscurity to glory. When we feel insignificant we can remember how a starving widow was used to win an ancestor of Jesus Christ to faith in God.

5. Ruth reminds us that Godly character does count.

Monday Madness # 2

i have been spending my 4 days in bed until i had to go to my doctor for an urgent appointment. this cough have been bugging me for almost for 4 days now. i started not feeling well since last Monday because i got caught in the rains that weekend. and my husband was sick too for almost 2 weeks he is still recovering but slowly. i really hope and pray that we will get well soon..soon!

it's good to give your body a good rest from time to time like abstaining from the things that triggers the illness. but sometimes when you are just in bed for days--something's not right..am i right? however, my husband insisted that i get a good rest specially these days..days that i am coughing my lungs out already..i am telling you it's bad and tiring.

but God is good i have been to my doctor earlier and she gave me a shot of what i believe a heavy dose of antibiotics to help clear up my sinus and my throat plus a couple of other cough medicines. whew! i am so glad to feel the immediate relief. i hope all goes well with this.

but since it is Monday i still want to go with my blog schedule. i will try my best to post for my Monday Madness post.

Hey guys!
I know it sounds funny but i have been "tagged" by my friend Venus to participate in this fun challenge by answering a few questions. The purpose is to get to know a little more about me..and i guess it would also help me to get to know other bloggers out there.

Okay, so here's the rules:

1. Post the rules.
2. Answer the 11 questions given and create 11 new questions to pass on.

inhale-exhale so here are my answers to her questions.

Question #1. When did you start crafting?
as early as 5 years old, i remember i started it by making my Barbie's clothes. my mom sews so I distracts her in a good way when i stitched my right pointer (ouch) but seriously, i took crafting in its deeper sense when i was already working--when i was 21. it started when i wanted to give Christmas gifts but i was on a budget. So i started making these accessories and then i loved it and the people noticed my unique gifts..it's so easy and of course fun!

Question #2. When you were a child, what was your favorite project you made in class?
DIORAMA of the Solar System in 5th grade. i had the idea of it but let's say "It's easier said than done". it's a little complicated than i thought. after I got done, i loved it and it gave me confidence whenever i make school projects.

Question #3. What is your favorite project you've finished recently?
honestly, it's my BLOG--sounds inappropriate right? but i am not making any handmade stuff lately. this blogging completely took over my attention. it's not done yet because i keep on adding and changing to adapt to the current trends though..hopefully i am doing better now! :)

Question #4. If you were a superhero, what powers would you possess and why?
this question sounds familiar. me and my husband often have conversation like this. i want to have the power of INVISIBILITY because i want to go some places and do some things there without being noticed. and one more INVINSIBILITY. lets admit it, our world is getting worse so many crimes here and there. imagine me in a WONDER WOMAN suit aha!

Question #5. If you were to be stranded on a deserted island and had a choice of two things to have, what would it be?
i would love to have my Bible and a pocketknife. my Bible--to remind me of God's promises that i am never alone. He is always beside me. and my pocketknife because it is so useful. i can prepare and make my own food using it. i can also use that to defend myself from any predators who could attack me there.

Question #6. What skill would you like to pass down to your child?
i always pray they would get my musical skill. music is a very important part of my life. i always sing whenever i am sad and whatever i do because it uplifts my spirit. and if in case there would be a second skill my love for crafts :)

Question #7. Favorite holiday?
Christmas is my most favorite. it is so special to me. back when i was still in the Philippines we celebrate it for a longer time. come to think of it, when the first "BER" month comes, we are already excited to play Christmas carols and we decorate our houses already. then we think about what gifts we're gonna give and what food we're gonna prepare. i so love the spirit of Christmas there. when you walk on the road to buy something in the market, everybody's on the rush--that means everybody wants to celebrate it with their loved ones.

Question #8. Star Trek or Star Wars?
Star Wars because i understand it more than Star Trek and when i was little i was fond of watching the Ewoks which is the beginning of Star Wars.

Question #9. What is your fondest childhood memory?
i love to play when i was a kid. i could say my childhood was not deprived. i have gained many friends and played with them. we would play all the time. after school then home then some afternoon naps and BAM by 4ish in the afternoon we would play. although i don't have much toys then but i am rich with friends. i think it's fun!

Question #10. If you could change one part of your body, what would it be?
it would be my small nose hahaha i want it to be at least a pointed one. so i won't have a hard time wearing my shades..i know i'm vain people :)

Question #11. QUICK! You're being chased by zombies, what weapon would you have on you?
my ammo would be a GATLING GUN because it shoots many bullets and very fast. and it can literally cut down anything. am i so violent here? uh oh!

WOGW # 1

hi ladies and lovelies!

most of you don't know that i am kinda sick. well like half sick-half well? umm yep i guess you can call it that way. me and my husband went out of town last Saturday. it was stormy but because we've both got itchy feet to visit itchy feet to shop at a thrift store so we brave the rains. we brought our umbrella together wore our jackets so we can protect ourselves..to make the long story short---i got sick!

so i'm just in the house and for the first time i tried to free my cats in the yard yesterday..unfortunately i can't the dog--he's such a barky one. don't worry because i put my laptop in the side porch plus my snacks so i can watch them. i think they all enjoyed their time as much as i did. as a matter of fact--they got part 2 today! Rocky our dog is outside too but he's on the leash though.

as i was posting my MONDAY MADNESS yesterday for the first time. it also occurred to me that i want to have a special WEDNESDAY post as well. it will be probably different from the others as i will be tackling one woman of GOD from the Bible or even in our times now whose lives inspired us to love God and serve others.

i hope that you will be with me through this. i cannot wait to read my Bible and explore how these women made an impact to their people and land and became a blessing for the glory of the Living God they serve.

Sunday Solitude

storm had passed, raging winds and heavy downpour blew its strength away from us..thank God and we have a beautiful Sunday! i love to look around after the storm. it's so peaceful and calm. but i feel sad for those who are so much affected by these tornadoes that whipped several states. many lives were taken by these tornadoes including a young family that were found in the field with only one child found to survive. it is a MIRACLE!

but do you know that it's not only when somebody survived from a great tragedy or calamity that we call it a miracle. the fact that every day when we wake up, hear the birds sing on a pretty sunny day or even get scared of the flashing lightning and thunders is a miracle. why do we only cling to the essence of the word when think its a BIG TIME miracle? when it's as small thing as waking up breathing healthily, we don't. :(

GOD is so big we can not even comprehend HIS greatness yet He had to come down to this small world to save us all sinners. isn't it the GREATEST MIRACLE? i believe it is---who am i? i am too small in this world to care for. i don't even make a big name here. but His love is GREAT. it is high and wide, it is deep and long, it is sweet and strong. His grace is lavish and His ways are faithful.

if you want to experience this kind of miracle now you can. just ADMIT you sinned against Him because no not one is righteous and all have fallen short of His glory BELIEVE that He is the only Saviour of your soul that gives eternal life and CONFESS with your mouth that He is the Lord of your heart and life from now on. (: now live with Jesus in your heart and don't forget that it took a miracle for Him to save you.

this day is just so beautiful to ignore. so you'll see me and my brother in law's dog in some pictures. these were taken at my father-in-law's backyard. enjoy!

Hello Heidi

honestly, i dont know how to start again. i am definitely blown away by the busyness of my life this past week. first, we have a couple of guests last week so i was a little pre-occupied. would you believe i have dieted myself from blog posts. i still read some blogs though.

ok this is the typical day for me last week. when my cousin heidi and her boyfriend arrived at our home that Sunday night, it was pretty much the start. i told myself i needed a break from being lazy and start moving. so that Sunday me and chubbyhubby cleaned the house again. some things needed to get done like dishes, vaccuming, cleaning up our messy dining table, and many more.

the next morning, thank God my husband cooked breakfast. he made his famous toast with sun side up eggs in the middle. it was good! then i made our supper that night. and the next day i did the breakfast/lunch and supper until i guess Friday night. i urged my husband to go out last Saturday to free myself because i admit i got tired. lol. that was the very first time i did the cooking marathon. as in everyday twice a day!

the weather was not so cooperative, it was mostly cloudy that week and had rained a lot. so we managed to walk in our small town. i brought my cousin to see some vintage sights in our laid back town. they said they like it here because it is much smaller and slower-phase from where they come from. they live in South Florida. i heard that it is such a big city with lots of people who are busy working all the time. i believed my cousin needed a break and it helped her stay here so she would come back refreshed and not winded.

most of the time when it was raining, we just stayed in our house. we chatted for hours sometimes in the wee hours of night, had a Bible study and prayed, watched movies, ate and ate, she took and edited many pictures. as a matter of fact, we had a picture when we're just babies and she did a good job editing it plus putting an updated version of us. take a look here

what do you think? isn't it cool to see our baby photos--how we grew up. i am thankful to God that after 20 years we saw each other again.

it was a different experience for me to meet her again after so many years. we had fun here. but most of all, me and my husband had a wonderful opportunity to share who Jesus in our lives. that HE is the only Saviour. He totally transformed us and up to this point inspiring us to follow His will. Heidi knows the Lord now. i pray that she continue in the faith she received through Jesus Christ. and now that she's back home share the wonderful gift she received to her family. she said she will go back home, find a job, save up some money and then Lord willing visit me again. that would be awesome! (:

i am excited to hear her testimony until we meet again. God bless your heart, Heidi.

we may have missed half of our lives. but we sure did catch up because we now share the same faith. that is our faith in JESUS.

speaking of creativity...i think my Valentine week has been creative so far..that is why i did not have the chance to drop a line here for my Featured Artist Friday post. and when i thought it was already Saturday! i was busy dragging chubbyhubby to thrift stores here and there. lol. we hit a couple and sure enjoyed the time together. i made sure we brought our dog Rocky so he could enjoy himself too. it was definitely fun. just don't ask the financial standing ok? (:

Could you tell us a snippet of how you ended up in your field of Arts

I have always struggled labeling myself as an "artist." I much prefer the title "Creative" because an artist, at least to me, is someone who is on the cutting edge of new and fresh. I am not cutting edge, but I do like to create and do most things in life by hand. I have this insane, if I may call it that because I think it's insane, twitch to make things. Now, "things" is such a general term, but I find it to be an appropriate word choice in this case. I am always in the process of creating "things," whether it is whipping up a batch of granola bars or a new piece of decor for my home. I am constantly thinking through how to make...something. I find, as most of us probably do, that my path to my current life occupation can be traced back to my childhood. Being creative was how I spent my time as a child, and it’s how I prefer to spend my time as an adult. The past 10 years have been a journey for me as I discover how to keep that creativity thriving in my life. I have learned that I like working for myself and am better at being an entrepreneur than an employee. I have found that being home, being present with my young son and being unconventional in what I do to pay the bills (in a clean, “G” rated sort of way) has allowed me to maintain my enthusiasm and provide the time I need to remain creative. Through a lot of hard work anything is possible.

What are your plans this 2012 that will affect your field? Why?

This year my plans include:
1. Launching new additions to my editing business and taking on a few more clients
2. Furnishing my home. We just purchased a home in October and we need a lot of interior revamps. I am planning to focus of at least decorating my son’s room and our bathroom.
3. Write thoughtful, genuine and content on my blog GoatNotes that excites me. I hope that by doing so I will meet more fantastic people and continue to enhance my abilities as a writer and blogger.

What advice/s can you give to those aspiring artists out there?

Take your time. In the beginning of my career I found myself rushing to keep up with those around me. I was always comparing myself to others’ successes, which caused quite a bit of anxiety. Later I realized there’s no hurry. If you want something really, really badly most likely you will get it. Work hard, spend time doing the things you want, try not to waste too much time on things that just don’t matter and be kind to yourself.

isn't she lovely? she is just totally awesome..i admire how she finds time between being a wife, a mother to her son and at the same time getting creative to her tutorials and recipes. i hope to meet her and her wonderful family someday and perhaps we can share our creativity too..that would be a cool idea, what do you think?

it's been raining in our place since this morning..and we are in a tornado watch until early morning so folks i am going to hit the bed and sack out.
