A million thoughts ideas and concepts on life and work and humanity, rush through the mind at the speed of the treadmill that crunches under you feet as you begin your morning, amidst hundreds of visuals on a plethora of Tv sets before you, screaming out opinion, news, statements, clarifications on the state of the country and countries beyond ..
It is traumatic to be riveted to one topic, one page of the newspaper, one message on the mobile, or the trillions of information that now comes unobstructed on this white screen that I push my fingers on …

I need a computer or many computers to be able to acknowledge, assess, grasp and retain all that comes out in a tsunami of visuals on a computer !! I need six brains dear Lord to be able to gather all that you would wish us to know ..

The walnut they say is a good eatable for the durability and health of the Cerebrum/Cerebellum .. for it is this nut - pun unintended - that resembles the Cranium !! There is that theory on fruits resembling human organ parts !!

The walnut, or the ‘promotional nut’, is what most intelligentsia refer to it thus because it has the capacity to cause one to be sick. Once sick, the next in command is asked in any office to take over - a promotion then for the fresh incumbent, hence ‘promotion nut’ !!

I see many of you immediately offering your superiors to devour tons of it !

I - if I may express most candidly - have been gulping the stuff for dunno how many ages .. and I await promotion !! This is sad news .. and reason for grave depression and incapacity.

Ahhhh .. just kidding … !! Kidding about the incapacity and depression .. depressions are mandatory in our lives .. we all go through it, but what needs to be exercised is this …

Never ever allow it to obsess over you ! Beat it, crush it, damage it .. but never allow it to remain a part of you … not even distantly ..

We all got through it from time to time .. we see ourselves as spent and devoid of any action emotion or devotion. It incapacitates you, tears into you with a sharp knife, wounded and bleeding .. but … its spell shall never prosper if you do not allow it to gain its importance over you ..

Easier said than done .. I know … there have been recent high profile examples that have gone horribly wrong. But do not entertain those examples before you. They were bad and indiscreet illusions, never to be strung along with ..

Changing topic ! This depression junk is a lot of bumphf ..

Information .. yes information is the buzz of these lucid times ..endless, constant, unending stream of information !! And we want to be a part of all of it. Start consuming one and a million others float past in passionate attraction, engulfing you and driving you away from what you started with, in the first place. Constructive in many ways and destructive too.

Constructive because you get to know so much, destructive because you know too much !!
I do not have a problem with either. Its just that I do not know which to store and where !!

The eternal problem of the human - indecision !!

A WAKE-UP CALL TO THE YOUTH OF PAKISTAN

On Justice, Conscience, and the Fate of a Nation

I. The Sleeping Giant Must Awaken

Young men and women of Pakistan — you who carry in your veins the blood of those who sacrificed everything so that this land could breathe free — the moment of reckoning is upon you. History does not wait for the comfortable. It does not pause for those who are distracted by their screens while their nation burns slowly, quietly, and deliberately. The crisis facing Pakistan today is not merely economic. It is a crisis of conscience, of courage, and of the soul of a civilization that once led the world. You are the final generation with enough time to reverse this descent. The question is: will you choose comfort over truth, or will you rise?

This letter is written not to fan the flames of hatred, but to illuminate a truth that power would prefer remain in the dark. It concerns a man — a former cricketer who became Prime Minister — now sitting in a cell in Adiala Jail, stripped of even the basic dignities accorded to ordinary criminals. Whether you love him or despise him, whether you believe every charge levelled against him or none, one truth remains unshakeable: justice administered by corrupt hands is not justice. It is vengeance wearing a robe.

II. The Man in the Cell — Imran Khan

Imran Khan is not a saint. No leader is. He came to power on the wings of a promise — Naya Pakistan — and like all leaders before him, he fell short of that promise in many ways. The charges against him — from the Toshakhana case to the Al-Qadir Trust matter — may carry grains of truth. Pakistan's accountability laws exist for a reason. But accountability is only honorable when it is applied with equal measure to all. When a man who allegedly looted billions in foreign assets is permitted to return home, bestowed with every comfort of governance and political rehabilitation, while another is sentenced repeatedly, held in conditions described by the United Nations as inhumane — that is not justice. That is selective persecution designed to neutralize a political threat.

By December 2025, Imran Khan faced an extraordinary 186 legal cases. His sentences have ranged from corruption to anti-terrorism charges — some overturned on appeal, only to be replaced by new ones. His wife has been imprisoned alongside him. His own son stood before the United Nations Human Rights Council in March 2026, declaring that his father had been imprisoned for nearly 1,000 days, held in a cell built for death row inmates, denied family visits for months, and was now reportedly losing his eyesight — a condition that went untreated for over three months. The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture formally warned of "inhumane and undignified detention conditions." This is not the narrative of justice. This is the architecture of political elimination.

Nelson Mandela was charged with sabotage and conspiracy to overthrow the state. His captors called him a terrorist. The world called him a prophet. The system that engineers those charges defines itself.

III. Dirty Hands Cannot Deliver Clean Justice

There is a principle older than any constitution: you cannot purify water with a soiled vessel. The men who have brought these charges against Imran Khan — who have managed his prosecution, who have celebrated his conviction — these are not men who emerged from a record of transparent public service. The revolving door of Pakistan's political elite, that small and incestuous circle of families who have alternated power for decades, enriching themselves at the public's expense, now stands in judgment of others. This is the fundamental obscenity of the situation — not that a man is on trial, but that the trial is conducted by those who should themselves be in the dock.

Justice, as the great jurist William Blackstone wrote, must not only be done but must be seen to be done. When a judiciary is described by international observers as "increasingly managed," when party members are barred from contesting elections without their electoral symbol, when international bodies including the EU, UK, and United States formally raise concerns about politically driven military trials — the façade of legal legitimacy crumbles. Young Pakistanis must understand: the question is not simply whether Imran Khan committed crimes. The question is whether the process that convicted him is capable of determining that truth with integrity.

IV. The Economy: A Nation Eating Its Future

While political theatre consumes the nation's attention, the economic reality of Pakistan in 2026 is nothing short of catastrophic for the ordinary citizen. Let us speak plainly with numbers — because numbers do not lie, even when politicians do.

The government raised electricity prices by 26% in FY2023–24, then a further 20% in July 2024, and yet again in 2025. Across Pakistan, monthly electricity bills doubled within months — in Lahore, from PKR 10,000 to PKR 22,000 between May and July alone. Families who once ran small fans in the summer now sit in darkness because they cannot afford to turn them on. A man in Gujranwala stabbed his own brother in a dispute over an electricity bill that had exceeded PKR 30,000. This is what economic mismanagement looks like at the human scale: brothers turning on brothers because the state has turned its back on both.

And what drove these crippling tariff hikes? Deals signed with Independent Power Producers — IPPs — under capacity payment agreements obligating Pakistan to pay billions to power companies whether electricity is generated or not. Capacity payments alone are projected at Rs 2.1 trillion for FY2025 — comparable to the entire national defense budget — and these costs are passed directly to you, the citizen, in your monthly bill. Meanwhile, exports have declined for six consecutive months and imports continue to surge, bleeding the country's foreign exchange reserves. Saudi Arabia stepped in with a $3 billion loan in early 2026 simply to help Pakistan repay another loan to the UAE. The nation is borrowing to repay borrowing.

In early 2025, residents of Gilgit-Balochistan — where billions of Chinese CPEC investment dollars have flowed — received barely 30 to 60 minutes of electricity per day during a winter that dropped to -15°C. Hundreds blocked the Karakoram Highway in desperation. This is the contradiction of modern Pakistan: a country with enormous investments and enormous poverty, where the elite sign agreements and the poor pay the consequences.

V. The Pattern of Poor Governance

The failures of Pakistan's governance are not accidental. They are the cumulative result of a system where accountability flows downward — punishing the poor for unpaid bills while shielding the powerful from unpaid debts to the nation. Consider: power purchase agreements signed over two to four decades lock Pakistan into payments that will burden your children and their children. No independent audit, no parliamentary debate, no public transparency accompanied many of these deals. They were signed in rooms where citizens were not invited, and the cost was handed to them without explanation.

Consider the flour crisis that preceded 2024 — when wheat was exported at a time of domestic shortage, driving up prices for the poor even as subsidies existed on paper. Consider a tax system so broken that less than 3% of Pakistanis file income tax returns, yet the state extracts compliance from the poor through utility bills — collecting withholding tax through electricity statements from people too impoverished to otherwise participate in the formal economy. The informal economy remains informal not because Pakistanis are dishonest, but because the formal system offers them nothing in return for their honesty.

Political instability has compounded every economic failure. Pakistan has had four prime ministers in five years. No long-term infrastructure project, no coherent industrial policy, no sustainable energy strategy can take root in soil that is turned over so relentlessly by the hand of establishment politics. Investors — foreign and domestic — cannot plan in a country where the rules change with every government, and where successful businessmen become targets the moment they are perceived to support the wrong political camp.

VI. Voices From History — On Political Imprisonment

The parallels to Mandela are not flattery — they are historical mirrors. Mandela was convicted of real crimes under a system designed to eliminate him. The question was never whether those acts occurred; the question was whether the system prosecuting him had the moral authority to judge anyone. Pakistan must ask itself the same question. When the judges who convict are appointed by the same hands that benefit politically from the conviction; when cases multiply in exact proportion to the political threat posed by the accused; when international human rights bodies issue formal warnings — history is watching, and history has a long memory.

VII. The Call to You — The Youth of Pakistan

You are 64% of Pakistan's population. You are not bystanders. You are the nation. And you are being failed — by the political elite of every stripe, by an economic system that extracts your labor and returns inflation, by a governance structure that demands your obedience and offers you darkness. The question before you is not whether Imran Khan is guilty or innocent. Courts, ultimately, must answer that — and those courts must be courts worthy of the name. The question before you is deeper: what kind of country do you want to inhabit? What kind of justice do you want to live under?

Demand transparent courts, not managed ones. Demand accountability that applies to all — not selectively to political enemies. Demand energy policy that serves the people, not signed agreements that serve powerful corporations. Demand a government whose officials fear the ballot box more than they fear each other. These are not radical demands. They are the minimum requirements of a functioning democracy. They are what Jinnah promised when he stood before a newly born nation in August 1947 and said that the state would make no distinction based on religion, caste, or creed — and by extension, no distinction based on which political camp a man inhabits.

Nelson Mandela emerged from 27 years of imprisonment to lead South Africa not because his captors relented, but because a generation of young South Africans refused to accept the narrative that their hero was a criminal. They held the mirror to history and made power blink. You have the same power — if you choose to use it, not with violence, not with chaos, but with the most powerful weapon ever wielded: an informed, awakened, and uncompromising conscience.

Criticism

The fastest way to destroy someone, constantly correcting them. Even over small things you think you’re just helping, but correction is often just criticism in disguise, and criticism slowly kills a person’s confidence. Ever met someone who was super smart as a kid, but turn quite unmotivated and anxious as an adult. They weren’t born lazy they were over corrected. Psychology explains it, your brain has mirror neurons designed to help you self-correct grow adapt, but constant correction it shuts that down. Example, you’re tired chilling on your phone someone says put that down its bad for your eyes, you’re doing homework in here sit up straight why is your posture like that, you clean your room but they still say why can’t you even do something this simple. These sound small but they pile up and eventually your brain start whispering ‘I can’t do anything right’ so you stop trying, you procrastinate. You avoid decisions look lazy but inside you’re just exhausted from judgment and this doesn’t stop in childhood, it also happens in relationships too, your partner keeps correcting you but it’s not care its control masked as concern. Over time you stop trusting yourself, you second guess everything you feel anxious, broken, helpless but here’s the twist the problem isn’t you it’s the other person’s need for control they’re afraid of losing grip you they micromanage your every move. That’s not love that’s manipulation. Real love gives space it encourages, it lets you grow, and it allows mistakes because true growth only comes from self-correction never from someone breathing down your neck. So if you’re stuck in that cycle wake upset boundaries, speak up, and walk away if you must. You deserve freedom, respect, and space to grow. Only then you can be strong, courageous, and happy.

Constant correction doesn’t just hurt feelings—it rewires self-perception. When people hear persistent criticism, they stop associating effort with progress and start associating it with failure. It’s a slow erosion of trust in one’s own abilities. As Carl Jung once said, “The greatest tragedy of the family is the unlived lives of the parents.” Often, those who overcorrect others are projecting their own fears and insecurities. They seek control where they feel powerless and in doing so, they suppress the spark in others that once made them shine.

Overcorrection also teaches conditional acceptance: “I’m only loved when I’m perfect.” That message is deeply damaging because it replaces curiosity with fear. Brené Brown describes this dynamic well: “Shame corrodes the very part of us that believes we are capable of change.” When correction becomes constant, it isn’t guidance—it’s shaming disguised as improvement. Instead of creating growth, it creates paralysis. The child, partner, or friend who was once confident begins second-guessing every move, waiting for disapproval before acting.

In adult relationships, this cycle breeds hidden resentment. You stop expressing your true self because you anticipate critique. You edit your thoughts, your tone, even your laughter. That emotional self-censorship is survival, not love. Rumi wrote, “Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.” True love and genuine connection create psychological safety—a space where people feel trusted to stumble and still be valued.

Breaking free from the pattern means reclaiming your right to make mistakes. Growth is messy; it lives in trial and error. Viktor Frankl, a psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor, famously said, “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” Setting boundaries and refusing to internalize another person’s control is an act of self-respect, not rebellion. It’s where confidence begins to rebuild.

In the end, love and respect flourish not in correction, but in encouragement, patience, and trust. When someone gives you space to figure things out on your own, it isn’t neglect—they’re saying, “I believe in you.” And that belief is what makes people blossom.

Why the Worst People Keep Getting Promote

You’re not imagining it. In many organizations, promotions are not about competence—they’re about comfort. The people who move up the fastest are often not the one signature 1s driving results; they are the ones who keep leadership comfortable. They rarely challenge decisions, and they avoid highlighting problems too clearly. Instead, they create a sense of calm, even when nothing is actually improving.

This is what many people misunderstand about corporate culture: real competence creates friction. When you are genuinely good at your job, you expose gaps, weak processes, and poor decisions. That makes people above you uncomfortable. As a result, instead of developing strong leaders, many organizations quietly sideline them. What gets rewarded is loyalty, predictability, and the ability to manage perceptions. Once this pattern begins, every layer starts protecting the one above it. Promotions stop being about skill and start being about safety.

Many gestures have since been developed - the ‘aadaab’ with the one hand raised in respect to each other in the Muslims, the hand shake with the other - a western dominated act among the Caucasian white … how did they come about ..?

Many felt that the hand shake was devised such that the other hand be free to pull out a weapon of defence, in case the meeting went hostile. Those were referred to in times of the old .. but worth thinking on ..
There are deeds that comply with all that is required, efforts that are made, integrity of performance, honesty in belief and all other that signifies the right .. yet … what emerges does not necessarily come out the way it was desired.

Was our desire too ambitious ? Were our efforts falling short of requirement ? Did we expect too much ? One can never tell. But what one can tell, is the extent of disappointment of lost achievement. It does become difficult to find fault in our efforts, mostly. If we could, we would never make them or be cautious of the oncoming stumble of a non performance. More often than not, we tend to blame fortune, stars, luck and additional such attributes to our failures .. pretty normal .. ( love the expression ‘pretty’ in the english tongue, to describe normality .. heheh ) …

But I learnt today as I watched ‘The Killing’ a tale which is narrated to a person on the verge of despair and renunciation due to circumstances that prevail upon him, which gave me courage to put it down for sharing among us. I have already lit the twit with it … but I thought I should log the blog as well ..

'Bad luck either destroys you, or … makes you the person you really are !!'

Failure makes you reticent, complacent at times. At times angry. But angered determination to right the wrong is a massive temperament. No … I am not going to justify this through my personal experiences or experiments. That would be too arrogant for me. I merely wish to let it lie, like that leaf in a pool of turbulent water, fighting the gentle waves that threaten to sink it, but fail because of its resilience !!

I free myself from the tutorials of character, free myself from formulae, free it at will and one’s own inner self, so that instead of it assuming a uniform universality, those that practice are free to interpret their own deeds in the manner of their own temperament.

I am often faced with inane questions on the reason for failings, and what keeps me going …

I find these offensive and detrimental. By asking the reason it conveys to me, that they would rather wish I stayed in this situation for a long period, if at all I were to be embracing it. Can anyone truly answer the reason for personal success or failure? Can we truly firm speech on the texts of definite and guaranteed achievement ? And how many have actually followed guidelines without effort to achieve it ? Nothing can ever be termed to be successful for one individually, through prescribed documents or comment. Without the element of personal hard and laboured effort, the sweat of your brow, the pains of your internals, can one truly lay claim to the subject under discussion …. and I deliberately subtract the usage of the word ‘success’, because it reduces the value of the argument !!

It is time then for one to ponder, to resolve and act, rather than hope to be led by your fingers to that pinnacle, envied by all …

Get there in humility, in its grace and importantly in its inconsistency … there is not enough room at the top of the highest mountain in the world. Those that conquer it, exult with joy, leave symbols of their presence on it and return voluntarily to base camp … giving time and space to others to attempt that final climb, and to come down eventually, for others to get up there …

My protein of life and daily existence awaits me, along with the inputs that reservedly give me required or absent vitamin ..

…. for me to consume … and to arise again to determine the reflection of my effort for the next trial …

Indestructible!

Do not assume dear World that one can be indestructible .. we are failures and riddled with inadequacies .. incompetence and completely nailed in the coffin of ineptitude.

And its self-realization shall always be the hallmark of greater truth and honesty... it's just that some people do not wish to accept that... I do .. but disbelief angers one more .. honesty requires great internal perseverance and will .. when one is complying with that, why the insistence on rigidly having the distinction of your own belief .. your own belief is your own .. why challenge it with weak and inconsequential argument .. accept the truth, listen to the other voice, give it the space of existence and move forward .. or at least move...

But the tragedy or the greatest irony is, that, that is the one aspect that never scores a home run .. we are continuously badgered by alternate opinion, and opinion that bears the self rather than the desired truth .. so what does one do .. one walks away .. bids the farewell reserved for them and departs to a moment of better slumber and rest, devoid of all the encumbrances that tag along .. !!

I have done that today .. and feel the delight of honesty and true value... I may be entirely wrong... I may be misled... I may have the misfortune of being advised in error .. but the vital ingredients are the acceptance and its follow...

I have written so many times about human behaviour it impressive to know that the material keeps coming on. You would never define human nature in one way. It has to be cover over again due to its nature. Yet there some new ramifications that came to my very limited experience that i would like to share.

It is amazing to see how the speaking up the true in ones point of view can change a relationship to the extent of not talking to each other. History had shown that truth has a very unpredictable reaction upon whom you revealed it. It is better to keep quiet? And let the flow of things carry on their own way. Just a thought! This particular blog is about something else...

Does an element of personal possession really be of such importance that you are able and capable of designing all your acts of decision and stance and desire .. your wants, your factors of completion with results in favour, your wishes of success and fulfilment ..??

Without propagating the oft controversial affirmation of superstition, perhaps it does .. !! There is never any scientific aberration that defends such belief, but to some it does !

The wearing of particular clothing .. the time of exits and entries .. of getting on to a particular seated facility … of putting the right foot forward and not the left for the support of divine presence … of what hangs from the neck and which finger .. of the route taken for particular destination .. of repeated prayer …

There is no end to the permutations of such prevalence ! Yet for some it is a considered waste, a misnomer. Some laws of the land prohibit such deeds of thought, some do not. Liberal societies act liberally in moral thought too. When there is freedom of liberation, there is presumably a lesser act of prohibited indulgence ..

Diversity and inequality in a society, perhaps plays the most important part in the decisions that are taken on national and international forums and levels. A combined conclave of such encourages a unified and collective impression for the betterment of all. At times though, conversely, a single mind has the capacity to alter preordained thinking.

It is essential at times to perhaps catch the nose by taking your hand from behind your head ! The issue is not to catch the nose, the issue is how you went about to catch it.

Two individuals from UK and the USA, come to common ground each season of the year, to decide, breed and cultivate, what the entire universe must endorse its confirmation on fashion ! There is no challenge or rejection to its claim. Other parts of the world do and will attempt to persuade the markets of fashion, and many succeed. But by and large the more given remain. There is belief then in what is preached. There is its saleability factor, its market, its distribution and its ultimate buying. All converging on a simple philosophy of thought - if they have said it, it must be correct !!

So if decision is made and executed on what has been driven by superstition to be correct, then fashion opinion and trend must fall in the same category .. but there is little evidence of its discontinuance. Or little evidence of any legality to prevent it …

Happy Birthday Dad 19 March 2015

Today is one of the most important day in my life. My Dad’s Birthday. My Father is the thread that holds our family together. His selfless love for us causes me to stand in awe. His patience in all of the situations is amazing, his gentleness to be able to comfort us in any difficulty, the wisdom he pours out not only his words, but through his actions is without a doubt out of this world. He is such an incredible, amazing, awesome, lovely, unique, father.

As I grow older, I appreciate my parents more and more each day. All that they sacrificed to provide us with the best of everything. I have to say that as my father ages, he seems to look better and better, and my only wish for myself is that I look just as good as him as I age.

You have had such an impact on my life in so many ways. I’ve seen our family go through, a number of different struggles, publicly and privately, and you have always maintained such a strong, clear, balanced head during it all. I admire how funny you can be without even knowing it or trying to be. You always find humor in every situation.

I’ve learned how to be so strong in my beliefs and stand up for what I want, without being too aggressive. Sometimes, you have to take a step back and really look at every situation and think about your next move, rather than act impulsively. I so admire your patience, with everything, and I wish that I could be more like you in that respect.

You’ve shown me how important it is to be nice to everyone and treat everyone the same way. And that’s why everyone loves you and adores being in your presence. You make everyone feel instantly at ease.

And lastly, you are the most selfless person I know. You never say, no. You always try to find a way. Or you tell me to call mom and she will find a way. You both have done more for me than I could ever repay you for, and I am so lucky that I have such an amazing set of parents, who, through thick and thin, are ALWAYS there for me. You have allowed me to create such an awesome life, given me all the tools I need to succeed, and have made me feel more loved than anyone else could ever make me feel.

It’s simply wonderful to imagine you so happy as we celebrate many fabulous years!

It’s life’s celebrations that bring us closer together and no matter what age we turn, we are only as old as our minds allow us to be.

Dad, happy birthday!!!!!!!!! You deserve nothing but the best day and the best life. I am so thankful for you and all that you do for our family every day.

Union by Marriage!

Weddings are a union of two souls to make them one .. but weddings to me are the coming together of two families into one .. this union is greater and more admirable than the marriage itself .. this is the association that makes the togetherness feel pure and united ..

We are united today with another that now is our own .. what a wonderful way of bringing in reverence to this sacred bond of togetherness and union ..

And then when the families sit, we talk of days gone by, sharing with each other the episodes and deeds of the years gone by … of those days of laughter and adventure .. of the old school ties and the frolic and fun of youth ..

Meeting and joining of souls into happy and continuous matrimony is sacred, but so is the association of those that come along with the family of marriage .. suddenly form being total strangers, we become totally engrossed together ..

This is the loveable and the most integral part of such occasions .. nomenclature changes .. names change .. addressing each other changes .. associations that would not have drawn a glance, become one for the other ..

Growth of feeling … growth of a unity .. growth of affection to the other unknown before .. growth of exchanging and knowing that our numbers will increase and that the more the merrier …

May we all live in the ecstasy of our intimacy and may we all be together in ‘marriage’ almost ..

Fortunate are...

Fortunate are they that have ability to express to others in writing or thought or word what plays incessantly within ..

Fortunate are they that can assess, decipher, see another angle or viewpoint, analyse, comment .. and have the freedom to never be questioned on it ..

Fortunate are those individuals and institutions that possess the power and expertise or the intellect to do so ..

Fortunate are they that see a vision, a future and live and work towards its completion ..

Fortunate are those visions that seek completion and witness derivation ..

Fortunate are those dreams that visited us each hour of the day and then disappeared as soon as they were achieved ..

Who was it that did all this ? And how and where and when ?

I carry many such without any fruition .. I carry mangled and mingled thoughts that burst at the seams, but do not explode but implode within .. I struggle each day with them seeking expression or voice .. I struggle too in keeping them withdrawn .. I lament that I do, but I know that that too is a futile expression of grief or sorrow .. I do also know that all may not necessarily be all grim and grief .. but I do know that their exits shall be constrained limited and perhaps better not expressed ..

Were there to be an invention that would have the ability to read explicitly the workings of speech and thought within the human .. were there to be an invention to pick at will what has been floated in the hemisphere and the atmosphere through those air waves that abound .. were there to be all this .. I wonder how many of us would be there to witness such ..

Documentation then, resides in our beings on thoughts within .. they are the truest that we get to know and ‘hear’ what expression expressed was expressed .. so ..

Fortunate are they that believe in the documentation of theirs .. and others and many .. for they shall have the time and the substance to revert back to past presents and perhaps the visions of the future ..
It is difficult to put words within as you travel each day in the city of my first dreams .. the city that gave me my first job, my first freedom, my independent living, my choice of work and associations and connects .. they remain lasting and long ..

I find it difficult too to relate with the many that pass through each day among the drives on the streets .. those landmarked destinations now almost redundant and covered or shadowed by development .. somehow that feel of the past removes itself .. it seems as though the past was perhaps another existence, another chapter of a past life .. but then .. just as age removes tell tale features on the human face with time, so does the city and its environs change with even greater time .. somehow those days were more enveloping and lasting .. identifiable and loved .. the face that remained in memory has been cast upon with opaque filters .. drawing away that which should have remained vivid, but regrettably not …

Yet .. that which has been, has been .. and has been lived well in whatever means availed themselves to us .. it is healthy at times to visit them and recollect .. it is even healthier to remember them with grace and kind .. they were the special days then, perhaps without notice .. they have become even more special in sight ..

Time has changed me several times .. time has remained constant ; it has dutifully moved .. done what it does best .. cycled past events places destinations and individuals ..

Finally, the Qadri show in Islamabad is over amidst suggestions of an underhand deal with the government.

This will leave Imran Khan high and dry with pressure mounting on him from workers to call off his sit-in too. The positive side of the affair is that the tension and uncertainty prevailing in the country would be considerably reduced.

What began as a bang has ended with a whimper. For over two months one saw a grand display of histrionics at the venue of PAT’s sit-in. Qadri issued ultimatums with short deadlines and threatened of dire consequences if his demands were not accepted forthwith. “I give 48-hour ultimatum to the government. Dissolve assemblies, register FIR and hand yourself over to the law. I will not be responsible for what happens after that.” Another day he was seen with a burial shroud declaring that he had taken the last bath of his life with the intention of martyrdom “for the rights of the oppressed and downtrodden people”. He put up impossible demands like the immediate resignation of an elected PM and his subsequent arrest and the dissolution of the national and provincial assemblies. While he kept his gullible followers spell-bound, none of his demands were accepted. It is ironic that while he ranted about participatory democracy, he did not care to consult hundreds of men and women who had faced hardships and suffered economic losses before announcing the end of the sit-in. That many left the venue in tears rather than making a V sign underlined the hollowness of his claim to have achieved a victory.

The leaders who planned the march on Islamabad hoped that the army would intervene in their support. This turned out be a miscalculation as Ch Shujaat Hussain has admitted. The country had to bear the cost of their misadventure in the form of political uncertainty, economic losses and bad international image. Politicians like Imran Khan need to learn a lesson from this. It is time the PTI legislators withdrew resignations and played the role of a responsible opposition

Hard to Understand!

Salam to everyone,

It is very hard to understand how different people interpret religion and other things the way is more suitable for their own interest. Follow traditions without questioning or even understanding the purpose of such deeds in that period of time. Thanks to some we have the facility if u might call it like that of being able to fly distances of kilometers in just question of minutes, cover miles in just few second with a phone call or video call, being able to do calculations in seconds which were not able in those periods of time, being able to use drones and kill someone in Pakistan sitting down in USA. That proof to us that change in every sense is unavoidable for the better of humans. It seems that our primitive thinking ties us down and doesn't let our brain go beyond the boundaries created by us. I don't think that anybody will sit down and ask why Qurbani was done the purpose behind it. Why Prophet Ibrahim (S.A.W) was asked to sacrifice his own flesh and blood? Being Muslim i believe that we have the right to ask question to scholar and our descendents, but it is forbidden to ask questions. Questions may lead to disbelieve which will weaken ur faith...faith is blind. How can we separate faith and religion from reasoning. I think it is impossible to do since religions has nothing to do with reasoning. How can be explain that for centuries Qurbani Eid is being celebrating the same way, or a more palpable eyewitness example Moharam being celebrated for at least 50 years plus or minus in our house in the same manner without any changes whatsoever. I am sure that ideas must be going through the minds of people who r involved in these activities but the fear of implementing something new, or the fact of not being accepted by the community, or may be that it goes against the faith keeps the idea as it is deep down our thoughts. Traditions r followed but changes must followed according to time place, without that development and education will not be possible. Why we mourn our Imam? Why we celebrate Eid? What is the message behind it?......Uhhh! don't worry my faith is intact, i am just curious about any opinions in this matter....

Doing nothing!

It is the course of nature ..

When you have nothing, there is nothing to do … when you have something to do, there is so much that it almost seems like nothing .. work and its business keeps you strapped up in that mode of labour, and so long as there is commitment for the work taken, there is much to do .. and one does it despite .. but somehow, lie back with the intent of wanting to do nothing and the body corresponds with the idea … almost in conjunction !

It is stupefying how this happens, but I believe there is a formula that is taken over by the body at large. It is the people that surround one, those that throw affection and love towards you .. that does it ..
You may be in the middle of a yawn, but you stifle it for the work at hand and continue … that is how involved we get, and once got we tend to remain that way ..

We should really … don’t you think ?

Idle thoughts are at times either too idle or too vivid to be taken up in thought … these disturb us immensely, these thoughts take over with a brush if idleness were to be talked to or even questioned behind closed doors ..

Idle … are we really idle … or do we have another meaning for the word ?

As you rest with the eyes shut, some thoughts wander in almost uninvited and begin to entertain you in times of their pleasantness. At times those very thoughts run another direction and think of drastic conditions, personal general … and we are all suddenly sunk into this vortex that has been in all honesty, beyond any thought !!

Once, i saw somewhere that perhaps indicated what happens when a character thinks of matters and they start unfolding truly and in all correctness, in front of your eyes … it is a drastic thought but one that does not find explanation any where in either the books or the people at large ..
So why do we wish to attend to it ..?

Well at times it brings in great reward, when you discover that what had been thought off, does indeed find favour with your dreams ..

I have the weirdest dreams each night. I fight demons, I have unfulfilled desires, slapped all over them. I always interpret these drastic dreams to be a tired mind, a mind that perhaps suffers from either being crazy or suffer some kind of a mind disease ..and it is important that I knowledge myself with all that matter. Its the purity of the subject and the harshness of rejection ..

So out of these walls that do nothing but teach and teach us good, we are delighted to learn that there is immense reaction, somewhat violently to what is in store for us …

I have always felt that the pillow or the softy that is clutched under the legs and has finite and definite postures, is one that shall be run and operated. Really what does this indicate ! That you love your clutched blanket of an expensive piece always …. and that it shall never fail you .. !!!

My missives are mundane … they give away some kind of information that I may be surreptitiously frequenting, merely to be in the fun with the others, but in fact they were there to nab certain repeated defaulters who now may seek deportation .. !!

It is too complicated a work to have meaning to it, so best then to leave it free to ponder to think to contemplate in the concrete wilds of London...

Death

How modified the word ‘death’ becomes when it occurs. There is almost a glimmer of reverence in its description. And how majestically its mention gets incorporated in the language of the region or state.
The most apt description for it in true word is of course :

" He is dead !"

Somehow, it never ever sounds ethical to refer to it thus. So a certain politeness was introduced in speech.
'He passed away, or has passed away' .. sounds considerably more eloquent than 'he died, or is dead'! They give the moment a destination too .. 'he has moved or is at a better place', 'he is with the angels', and 'it was HIS calling and went'. There are some references where they tell you in what manner it should be described … 'it was time' ..

The more rougher versions have been no less attractive, eg. in the language of the Mafia .. ‘he sleeps with the fishes !’

BUT in all there is a certain dignity that accompanies the tale.

Its : ’so and so OFF ho gaya !’ OFF ?? It amused me when I heard it for the first time, but then as I learnt to live with it, I felt it to be succinct and quite apt ! On many an occasion one has been philosophical for the moment and often spoken in terms of ‘the light has gone out of our lives”.
To the common then the putting off of the lights in a room, putting it into darkness, was similar to the ‘off’ used at the time of death for an individual. It was synonymous with that switch being put off, on the light board of the room !!

Grieving then becomes another aspect of the ‘passing’ manifested into our beliefs as being auspicious moments when the soul shall travel to its final place in the heavens ..

These are stipulated and perhaps been with us through generations. Certain formalities of prayer and attire and attitude and conduct are carried out. Till the 40th day no food is cooked in the house of the deceased, it all comes from friends and relatives who feed the family. No celebrations for a year after the death in the house by the family .. and many other such ..

Some burn the departed, some bury them, some leave them to the vultures to feed on. Rituals and prayer and other forms of protocol is followed. Many keep in deep anguish and sorrow, many celebrate the going away with music and dance.

And the mind … what of the mind. Do we accept the loss immediately, start being practical or lament and grieve till we drop. In a material world, life goes on, yes there is remorse, but there is the concern for the morrow and the attributes it shall bring. Some look at this with disdain and not too pleasantly, others not.

Both have legitimate reasons for their behaviour, and both may be right in their own way …

So many images and questions in the mind during such moments, it is difficult to pin even one of them … because … we are dealing with the life lost of a human !!

The attendances then of expression of the loss for the others .. the prayer meetings, the gathering of those that one seldom meets or sees, but they are there for the moment ..

Want to express friendship to your friend .. never forget the wedding invite … but most importantly never ever fail to be present at the funeral .. !!

In this most ‘black’ context may we end for today and look for tomorrow with hope and a reborn enthusiasm !!

Information and Instints!

There are many occasions and reasons in life that coerce us to utter words and feels that do not necessarily demand attention, or meaning. It is said in jest or just said. Many a times we feel spilling it all out could lessen the task of keeping it within. Many feel that letting it out would defeat the purpose of the deed. But in this world of the fastest communication technologies, we often wonder if it really is prudent to conceal, hide, safe guard that which we are unable to keep within, or wish for it to remain private. Indeed the ‘private’ part of our lives is soon on the wane. Nothing remains unknown and mystical, or enigmatic. It is all there in the realm of the wired world, ready at the flick of a button to be picked up, analysed, criticised, admired, not admired … whatever ..

Information and content therefore has become the prime property of any individual, and the number of agencies that can produce all this required material are out numbering each other in value and credibility. Start a process today and you can be sure that, within minutes it is world wide informed.

The required moment therefore is - what has been put out or, whether what has been put out is genuine or not. Between these two extremes will exist the manipulations and confabulations of games and what people play often, with each other - in competition, or in mere political games man ship ..

For one that does come anywhere near its projection or its execution, I feel aloof from all the hoopla, though many insist that in order to survive it is essential to be a part of this ..

I dunno .. It is difficult to suddenly change track and follow another .. that not all shall take time .. that even if it did take time would it serve the purpose ..!!

So what is the next best … the next best is to lie dormant, follow your own instincts and live peacefully ever after ..

Instincts exist … they live a very credible life, and many of them, in fact quite a few depend largely on what that inner voice says at crucial times …

So listen .. and hear what needs to be said .. for right now it says good night .. and happy dreams ..

Followers by nature

Why the violence on the street in the house in our hearts … nothing becomes the human such repulsive identity .. we were born peaceful and content and without form, attitude, belief, nation and home ..

Till one fine day .. all the definitions were pumped into us .. our minds and our brains were awash with the kind of paths and temperaments we were to adopt .. perhaps for life .. and that became the one constant in our lives ..

Rigidity set in .. form and our inform, drilled into us, we became followers without reason almost .. it was what was asked of us .. and we did it with aplomb and strong heart and mystic supposition … it was this that lasted the most for most parts of our existence .. even during our passing without our knowledge, what transpired was what had been with us throughout - the dredging of what we were and are and shall be …

That is indoctrination .. that is forced labour … that is what causes us to respect and admire what the generations and generations before us portrayed and expected us to follow ..

Follow we did, as we did admire and respect .. its interpretation was perhaps different and vague … but there all the same … firm, committed and filled with the divine value …

Many changed tracks, changed the thinking, changed course … but they changed through belief … a belief that remained prevalent and lasting …

I last today .. you do as well .. we all do …

It is the distance of time and its regulated divinity .. if ever one were to see it …

Start low, aim higher, end highest … delirium !!

The world, the people and the circumstances around us, shall never be the same each day .. and today was different from yesterday .. quality could be questioned, but not the difference ..

Many talk of a constant optimism and the positioning of positivity. But many do know and realise that saying out loud is one, knowing its actual reality is another. Most of the time it is the ‘another’. But we battle on regardless ..

I may have slept in disrespect and absolute disdain .. but in the crowded streets of my mind walking down the city when Sahil, Khushi, Muskan, Adil Andres, Rehan, Tahir out of a moving three wheeler auto and yells out ’ I love you Dil Papa ’ .. the world begins to turn the other way .. for me at least ..!

" Oh, what a difference a ‘yell’ makes .. "

The spring in the legs pronounce their act, the body lifts more than it can bear to on an average day, the spirits soar and suddenly the desk, cluttered much like the cluttered mind, cleans up in one swift move ..

A gentle message of hope and togetherness .. of belief and strength .. of wishing and wanting to hold the other in one tight grasp of reassurance ..

That is all .. that is all one needs .. that is all one desires .. that is all to challenge the world all over again .. !!

Wet and showered I may be .. but wet with the affection that is showered by family, here in this home of ours, is the blessings of Mom and Dad .. may these drops of affection never dry .. !!

Eid Mubarak

Sorry for the late blog...

Eid Mubarak to all … may there be peace and wellness .. laughter and jovial co existence ..

And the world moves on and the life cycle rotates and the butterflies disappear in the rain and broken tree branches block the streets, and the traffic snarls, keep one away from the job on hand ..

It almost seems like there is a desperate need to have a host of people around you to inform, take care, guide and maybe just inform the next activity ..

It is no surprise then, if in time to come all our information shall be on the mask of an Iphone or Android phone .. but what beautiful times they would be !!

Outing activities does something… it fatigues the body and fatigues the senses … but for some reason when you defy it, it gives strength and power and determination to keep astride and awake and ready to give 100% all that is needed and more ..

There is no time for fun and frolic, no time for idling and certainly no time for complacent lethargic outlooks despite the fact the the physical needs rest .. an so it did .. and so did the family adjust on it .. of and for which I am grateful !!

Nothing ever was achieved without the trials of failure and criticism .. they will correct us … they will be useful to us and they must .. for it is they that strive to push our decisions to the ultimate … !!

I am forlorn .. I am perhaps indignant and also bear myself with some degree of challenge .. challenge is a must .. there would have been no diversification, no acceptance of wrong, no desire to improve upon the very best .. nothing !!

So I look upon tomorrow as that one day in another, which shall cure me of my apprehensions when compared with what has been committed .. !

Differents strokes

One can bear any pain that you exercise on yourself, yourself. But one cannot ever bear the pain of another .. simply cannot ! It is individual and isolated, cocooned and closeted within iron walls .. impregnable and immune to any other !!

They ask me my pain .. I tell them I am fine .. as would most others. But hidden inside each of us is that personal feeling which never admits to its existence or its intensity. It lies within and no matter how elaborate we may be in describing it to another, that what is felt by you is not entirely felt by another or any other …
It is for me the same in execution. Nothing can be replaced by ones own output, personally. I may be the most adept at detailing the nature and the requirement of my work from another .. but it shall never reach satisfaction until you have supervised it yourself. Seeing and witnessing results delegated to another, shall always be wanting.

Muddy your hands then .. find the time and the intent to pull up the socks yourself .. we are all different and differently built, not just in our physical, but in our temperament too. We shall be bound by anomalies. We may be entirely wrong in our judgement, or in our mode of application .. but then we shall have satisfaction that what was done was done with independent thought and guide .. a thought that belonged entirely to yourself ..

There is always pride in that ..

I am not filled with either today .. and that is a failure and a tragedy ..
But inconsistencies in our personal approach is also factored within our beings .. factors that others may never grasp or endeavour to grasp .. why would they .. they are content or perhaps perplexed in handling their own .. so why bother ..

Let us then rejoice in neutral commodities .. commodities that have proven to be endeared and loved and
connected ..

Master and Handlers

There comes a time in our lives when the well managed and orderly, draws its attention to us. Systems, procedures, the understanding of matters that matter by those that have been given the employ to matter the matter, anticipation of acts that once told or directed to be undertaken without repeated instruction or guidance, the reading of the mind by those in service of the one that has deployed them …

The list is endless and the expectations far too great. In all honesty we look to get an object or a managed individual that virtually has to become a replica of the person he or she works for - to be able to apprehend, to pre-empt the mind of the minded and eventually to beat his or her thinking to it …

That look, that unobtrusive gesture, that unsaid word … all to be understood and acted upon without causing unnecessary pressures on the master, who in all probability has little or no time to exercise his or her personal effort to oversee the chores given out. Some individuals read the master’s mind exceedingly well … they ease the process, the work the involvement of the person they think and work for .. leaving him or her to concentrate on their professional pursuits, their area of work, their reasons and their needs for the deployment of the attendants, managers or whatever else they may be called or addressed as ..

These individuals are not ordinary people - the handlers I mean. They have substantially greater work responsibility than the master. Their wrong, their faults, their mismanagement can cause irreparable loss to the owner. They are in fact the shadow image of their employer - in mood temperament and behaviour .. they are the front that bears the first assault - good bad indifferent. They are the ones that form the impressions of them who they represent. Their wrong is taken as our wrong. Their attitude is taken as our attitude. Their word is our word !

Which is why, representation becomes an enviable yet sensitive presence ..

Many an employer has been judged and ostracised because his or her representation has been faulty or wanting. This onerous job of representation becomes an ogre for those in the domain of public life. The follower, or the well wisher that binds his or her emotion to the public figure because of what he or she has associated the ‘figure’ with, expects and perhaps rightly so, to be acknowledged or reciprocated in the same vein that he or she has considered their affection.

The affection of the follower can never ever be matched with the interest shown by the ‘figure’. Admiration shall always be larger and bigger than any other. It is the feeling and matching that feeling by the ‘figure’ which is the failing, and one that shall never be looked upon as been brought to an equal plane …

And for this … the ‘figure’ can either show the heaviest of reciprocation, or live in the delight of his or her position without the bother or concern of those that in some way make him.

The numbers in such occurrences are difficult to match. Admirers shall always be in abundance … hopefully … the ‘figure’ shall … well … remain just that - a ‘figure’ ..

There are also some rather unique situations ! Were the admirer find a route unknown to the manager or handler for access or connect to the ‘figure’ without being taken into consideration, there is that belief and strength that would, if deployed, put the handler to shame or a few steps back.

This causes friction in a few ways.

The handler, slighted by this reversal feels insecure and perhaps verging on the not required category, which could be devastating for him. And two, the ‘figure’ would suddenly lose the option of referring any further matters to them, the managers, thinking and arriving at some conclusion that perhaps the services of the handler are not required.

Sensing the loss of a job with the ‘figure’ - which I imagine could be a concern of mammoth proportion - the handler then in order to keep his reputation and value alive, would play his master stroke.

Knowing of his or her easy accessibility to the ‘figure’, and knowing that the figure because of his or her reliance on them, would give them a definite ear, exercise this right of opinion .. their opinion on the master.

Coming from one that has spent several years in honest and trusted association, the master, writhing in the travails of paucity of time, readily accepts the opinion of the handler.

Result : the one that came in directly has been eliminated in one deft stroke. The position and the standard of the handler has been restored .. and not just restored .. it has been strengthened a hundred fold, because matters that may have been favourably ruled, now get disfavoured … and the reason for that lies directly with the handler in the eyes of the admirer …!!

Those then, that manage and handle them that be ‘figures’, finally turn out to be the masters. Their presence can hoist the dullest of ‘figures’ or destroy them.

It is often said : ’ keep your friends close, your enemies closer” ..

I say : ” keep your enemies closer and your handlers even closer “

Back .. to the blog is something that was pending for such a long time, it seems years have passed by but merely just few months.

The body stresses, the mind plays well, the circumstances tell another story .. part of living I guess .. and a reason always to enjoy and be thankful for it ..

World is becoming more bearable with time, as i grow older more strength of understanding things is emerging from within me.

Just a simple smile an acknowledgement a shaking of the hand and the nod of a head, is capable of conveying so much .. and one wonders why this cannot be universally understood .. attempts are made, but fail .. why is the question that is asked and is being asked each hour of our living lives ..

What may seem insurmountable now does indeed have many previous examples too … the World has never been shorn of intrigue and tension, of battle and conquest, of suffering and helplessness .. we all wonder when it shall all stop .. but each episode ends in that uncomfortable vacuum and then it starts all over again .. we have got used to referring to it as sad and unfortunate .. but these words are not adequate enough to describe the horrors that accompany them ..

When one talks about something new, not known, unseen it looks ominous and fearful .. but when the work starts it all begins to fall into place .. with of course the obvious apprehensions and fears ..
Now they have become a part of us , these adjectives, these expressions .. I wonder if we have quite inadvertently made them a constant .. we should not but somehow they creep in .. talk of them encourages talk to not talk of them .. no talk of them brings in somehow situations that coerce and compel us to talk of them ..

Silence would be best .. but that too has its own frequencies of sound !

So with sound and silence .. a very good day !!!

I am home .. ! I am home to familiar faces … I am home to loved ones … I am home to those little patter of feet … I am home to known fragrances ..

I am home ..

Homes built with passion and depth and in the belief of possession. That one address, that one roof that remains with us. That one destination that ends our day or night - one that we all come back to, one that when back all appreciate. I never hear why one has come back home. I never hear wish you would forget home. Even in the farthest of places destinations tours and visits, we are greeted with a ‘home away from home’ welcome !

A shelter you always find respite from .. always a shelter that irrespective of its size or condition or value, remains the most valuable element in our lives. We dress it, clean it, decorate it, repair it, celebrate in it, condition it for all occasions of festivals and celebration. We welcome the guest in it. Its purity of invitation has a distinct quality about it. There is a sanctity unparalleled about it. There is a piousness about it. Its ownership ensures perpetuity. We search for this all our lives. Building buying settling renting a home, is the ultimate possessive act of the human. Not just of the human but of every living being - the cat, the dog, the tiger everyone .. has a distinct reference to the area or place they identify as theirs … their home ..

BUT … it needs must be said that the virtual home of us all is here … on this white space that opens in computerised excellence … that brings in the so many people on our lives each part of the day to present to respond to exercise feeling to share to give and to love us all in one big, strong family ..

" Can’t we all just get along ?"

Simple nondescript words, spoken either in desperation or remorse, but with a certain definiteness about it in its natural simplicity, asking and perhaps questioning or pleading to the forces that believe in disruption, to make an attempt if nothing else to …’just get along’ …

Is it that difficult to hold another’s hand and pull it to a warm embrace .. or will it always be pulled, to battle the weaponry held in the other !

My love … and my hand in pulling embrace … !!
