Before 2011 rolls over to 2012, Mumbai will give some space for the raging bulls from Italy to be showed off. That’s right, AutoHangar is the latest Lambo dealer for India and will set shop in late 2011 in Worli or some other location in south Bombay. While Exclusive Motors have been dealing with Lamborghini imports for India and have been handing the Delhi sales and service, AutoHangar will handle the sales and service at Mumbai. If you’ve got a strange feeling of having heard the AutoHangar name before, you very well could have as AutoHangar has been Mumbai’s Mercedes Benz dealer for quite some time now. It looks like a trend of sorts this, with luxury car dealers now getting into supercars. Logical progression it may be as just yesterday, Infinity Motors, which runs BMW dealerships in Mumbai and Nagpur has just been appointed the official distributor for Aston Martin in India. Meanwhile, Lamborghini has earmarked 8-10 units of it’s latest range topping supercar, the Aventador, specially for India and already there seems to be a scramble for these 4 Crore rupee supercars as AutoCarIndia reports. As we’ve said time and again, it appears that there is a huge pent up demand for luxury cars in India, which show no signs of slackening and the above phenomenon seems just like the tip of the iceberg.

Acccording to the folks at carscoop, this concept will be produced soon and it may be launched next year. David Cardoso is an independent Belgian designer who has desgned this concept. Seeing the latest developments in VW`s pit, David says we may see a gasoline-electric hybrid or even an all-electric version of the future Beetle soon. BMW X3 launched in India

German car maker, BMW has officially announced that they will be bringing the X3 to Indian shores by June 2011. BMW will import X3 in CKD units and will assemble the parts at their state of the art unit in Chennai.

BMW manufactures X3 on both E83 and F25 platforms. We are not sure which of the two will be launched in India. As E83 X3 production was stopped last year, we expect BMW to launch the F25 X3 variant.

Available in 6 speed manual and 8 speed automatic transmission, BMW X3 is available in both 2.0L 184 bhp I4 diesel engine and 3.0L 300 bhp Twin turbo I6 petrol option.

Following the launch of Bentley Continental GT and Maserati range, the next exotic car to be launched this month is Aston Martin.

Aston Martin will land on the Indian roads today. The Tata Pixel, with ‘Zero Turn’ drive and an innovative diamond-shaped door system, is a new city car concept for Europe from Tata Motors. Based on the Tata Nano, the Pixel – at just over three metres in length – is the most package efficient four-seater in the world, comfortably accommodating four adults, unlike a typical city car which is either a two-seater or can accommodate two adults and two children only.

The Tata Pixel’s ability to manoeuvre and park in the tightest of spaces is made possible by its Zero Turn toroidal traction-driveInfinitely Variable Transmission (IVT). This highly efficient, cost-effective system assists rotation of the outer rear wheel forwards and the inner rear wheel backwards during low-speed manoeuvres, while the front wheels turn at acute angles. The result is a turning circle radius of just 2.6 metres. The glass area on the scissor doors provides excellent visibility even in the most extreme turning manoeuvre. The 'scissor' doors rotate upwards from the front to allow all four passengers to effortlessly enter or exit the Tata Pixel, even in the tightest of spaces, while the doors' large glass area provides excellent visibility. Kawasaki India Motor has set up an assembly unit in Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant and the 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 650R could be the first motorcycle to get assembled at the spanking new facility. The 650cc parallel twin, though not being a track bred tool to hit the race track every weekend, would just be the perfect tourer to hit the rapidly improving Indian road infrastructure.

And the Kawasaki Ninja 650R can do a fair bit of bad road riding too as the motorcycle is a light enough tool to be hustled along ruts without the bodywork screaming, “give me a break”. You get 70 horses and 66 Nm of twist to play with on the 650R and this, allied to a price of INR 5-6 Lakh, could just prove to the proverbial cat set on the pigeons(read Hyosung GT650).

Porsche has decided to add the S moniker to the 2011 Panamera Turbo GranTurismo car and hence we have some more power and torque to make the already blindingly quick four seater grand tourer sportscar faster. Talking about all the increased shove and twist, the 2011 Panamera Turbo S’s 4.8 Liter Engine gets a new twin turbo with titanium-aluminum turbines.

The lighter turbines make the turbos more responsive while a remap makes the engine now produce 550 Bhp of power and 750 nm of torque. To put those figures into perspective, the Panamera Turbo is non-S guise produces 500 Bhp and 695 Nm. So, the power and torque bump in the 2011 Panamera Turbo S are very significant bumps indeed.

Porsche claims a nought to hundred sprint of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 294 kph for the 2011 Panamera Turbo. Expect the 2011 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe to make its world debut at the 2010 Paris Auto Show in October.Mercedes-Benz has some major changes in store for its product line over the coming years, with several key models receiving facelifts and complete name changes. We have already seen this with the new 2010 E-Class Coupe, which has replaced the CLK, and soon we will see the CL name phased out with the introduction of a facelifted model later this year. The updated car will come in for the 2011 model year and go by the new name of S-Class Coupe.

The current C216 CL was first introduced at the end of 2006 but prototypes for the facelifted version have been spotted testing in Germany as early as August of 2008. Last year we saw images of the high-performance AMG model but these latest shots depict the standard model. New details include a more upright grille highlighted with a single chrome bar, as well the new headlight design and LED daytime running lights.

In the rear we can clearly see full LED rear lights, a new bumper design and rectangular-shaped exhaust tips. Other changes planned include new indicators in the side mirrors.

Mercedes-Benz engineers are expected to make a major change to the CL’s powertrain lineup for the new S-Class Coupe, with a new family of ‘MoVe’ modular V-6 and V-8 engines with direct-injection and turbocharging technology set to replace the current V-8 and V-12 units. There could also be a number of modifications to the exhaust filtering systems to help improve emissions.

The focus on this year's New York International Auto Show is just what the third word in the title says, international. With less spotlight on domestic vehicles and more on imports and those built by foreign automakers on home soil, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler were suspiciously quiet. Could it be the calm before the storm? The answer is probably not.

For the most part, Ford is almost completely new having revamped their line-up over the past 24 months. Cadillac is rolling out CTS models at a frantic pace and Chrysler is still sorting through the benefits of their recent marriage to Fiat. It was time for Chevrolet and Lincoln to wave the flag and draw attention to good old North American ingenuity in vehicle design. Here are several highlights in our part two coverage of the show.

Featuring a Prius-like design and outstanding fuel economy, the all-new 2010 Honda Insight is not only the least expensive hybrid on the market, but a fun little car with loads of personality.

After bursting onto the North American scene in 2000, the Honda Insight is back and better than ever with a remarkable 40 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway. The Insight is available in two trims – LX and EX – and pairs a 1.3-liter, 98-horsepower 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine with a 10-kilowatt electric motor and nickel metal hydride battery for full, hybrid functionality. Honda’s Ecological Drive Assist System or Eco Assist allows you to control various systems that affect fuel economy such as idle stop duration, air-conditioning and cruise control, in order to maximize your mileage. The speedometer turns from blue to green based on how efficiently you are driving, while the Eco Guide display lets you earn five digital plants with leaves that grow if you drive green enough. Basically, the Insight will let you know what you can do to be as efficient as possible.

When it comes to looks, the Insight resembles the Prius, but has a sleeker, sharper exterior with sparkling projector-beam halogen headlights. On the interior, the dashboard and gauges seem video game-esque. Honda’s Satellite-Linked Navigation System with voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity and USB port are optional, while a 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with either four or six speakers, Radio Data System and MP3 auxiliary jack are standard. The Insight seats four comfortably (five is a bit cramped) and includes a folding backseat that extends to the cargo area.

When it comes to safety, the Insight features side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags and dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags. Antilock disc/drum brakes, a tire pressure monitoring system and Electronic Brake Distribution come standard. An electronic stability system with traction control is available on the EX.

At a time when driving green costs a lot of green, the all-new 2010 Honda Insight is the most affordable and one of the most fuel efficient vehicles on the market.

The all-new Honda Accord Crosstour makes its 2010 debut as a crossover hatchback wagon version of the Accord midsize sedan, but offers more interior room (particularly in the back), increased ground clearance, a quieter ride and all-wheel drive capability.

Available in EX and EX-L trim levels, one of the Crosstour’s strengths is V-6 performance, featuring a 271-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. EPA estimated fuel economy ratings range between 17-18 mpg in the city and 25-27 mpg on the highway.

Facing competition from the Subaru Outback and Toyota Venza in the crossover wagon segment, the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour can be had in front- or all-wheel-drive configurations and sits on standard 17-inch or available 18-inch wheels. The front grille is much larger than that of the Accord sedan and dual tailpipes are standard. The five-seat Crosstour’s interior styling and ergonomics is reminiscent of the Accord sedan. EX models feature power front seats, steering wheel-mounted controls, a sunroof, foglights, power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and and a seven-speaker stereo system with a six-CD changer.

EX-L models add heated leather seats, a stereo upgrade, MP3 compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, driver seat memory functions and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The only available option is a voice-activated navigation system with a backup camera. The second row offers 37.4 inches of legroom. For added cargo room, the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour features a 60/40-split backseat and large storage box under the load floor, which is ideal for hiding valuables so they are not in plain sight of passersby. The Crosstour offers 25.7 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats and maximum cargo capacity is 51.3 cubic feet with rear seats folded.

The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour offers many standard safety features, including front side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic stability control.

A larger version of the Accord sedan, the brand-new 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour crossover hatchback wagon offers V-6 performance with front- or all-wheel-drive capability and competitive fuel economy.
