Trust is the foundation of a long
lasting relationship. Trust needs to be earned not only in relationships but in
everything that we do and when the trust is lost it takes hard work and pain
even to build the trust into the relationship again. But through the hard work
and pain you make your relationship stronger. Her are some of the tips that I
believe will help build trust in relationship again:

Admit your faults: Put
everything clear so that there is nothing that will stop the trust form
being built. If you feel you wronged you partner, admitting to your faults
is a good start. Do not give excuses or stories as to why you did what you
did. This way the two of you get to work on the why and how and once done,
you are on your way to building trust in your relationship.

Be truthful and open:
Do not hide things from your partner because no matter how tight you think
your secret is, it will come out one day. So you are better off sharing
your thoughts and issues and find a solution together. Honesty will
     consolidate trust in your relationship.

Be stable and reliable: A relationship
needs to be steady, Consistency and stability are more imperative
for the maintenance of a relationship than a vast diversity in a
     relationship.

Patience: Any
relationship needs patience. Give your partner time to come to
terms to what happened. You obviously love your partner, so give him/her
     time to heal time.

Communication: It
is good to discuss your feelings and tell or show your partner what you
need. This way your partner will know you consider his/her opinion and is
considered worth being by your side and he/she will trust you more.

Maintaining a healthy relationship
needs trust and once the trust is lost, building the trust back needs work and
it also needs honesty. So no matter how much the truth hurts honesty is the
key.

Early Childhood Education

According to UNESCO , Early childhood is defined as the period from birth to 8 years old. This is the time for significant brain development. Early childhood education focuses on children learning through play, since it's thought that children gain more knowledge when given the opportunity to play.

A parent or parents are usually a child's first educator and therefore early childhood education tends to start when the child is still with the parents. The first years of a child are very crucial to his/ her development and therefore if a child doesn't receive sufficient parental interaction during this time, they may have developmental deficit that could hamper their performance in kindergarten.

Teachers' role is to help children expand their understanding of themselves and
their surroundings through extensive course of study that builds on the
children’s questions and concerns while thoughtfully adding their
own questions to enrich and deepen the children’s inquiry.

Many childcare centers have resorted to having children start learning at a very early age.
The distinction between childcare centers being for care and
kindergartens being for education, for example, has all but disappeared or been ignored and this therefore means there is need for qualified early childhood educators/teachers to offer proper guidance and this begs the question when is the right time for a child to start school.

Most of what we communicate to
others is non-verbal which means people receive our communication through subconscious
messages we are sending through our body movement..

Body language is non-verbal messages communicated through our body movement. It is not what you say,
it’s how you say it that matters.

what we do with our body besides speaking. We tend to recognize this instinctively,
without having to be told the meaning.

Examples of body language include

   Eye contact

Gestures with hands and arms

Our posture

   Facial expression

Fidgeting

Just
like dressing, body language demands addressing cultural habits, profession, circumstances surrounding one at that particular moment and personality types. This is because there are times that body language will represent learned behaviours or one's culture. For instance:
Culture: In most
African cultures it will be deemed rude if a child was looking an adult straight into
the eyes while they are conversing while in Western cultures if there is no eye
contact the child will be said to be lying.
Circumstance: maybe the person you are reading is cold and has crossed their arms in response.
Proffesion: military people tend to have learned body language
Personality types: Some
personality types, such as shyness or autistic need their own descriptions
instead of just listing general rules with reams of exceptions.

The first and foremost thing to know about hand shakes is that it is done differently
if not at all depending on different cultures. So make sure you are aware of the local customs before that hand shake. There are 3 important gestures when giving a hand shake.

Palm Down

Palm Up

Straight
     Palm

And depending on how you give the hand shake one of three attitudes
will be transmitted:

Dominance: this comes with the Palm down approach which will indicate I can
dominate you

Submissive: this comes with the palm Up approach which indicates i will do
whatever you ask me to.

Equality: This is the Straight Palm approach which shows equality. This is
the best gesture to give during a handshake.

According to Allan Pease an author, to create a rapport in a handshake hold
the palms straight, give the same grip pressure that you receive from the other
person. This shows equality and makes everyone feel comfortable.

When giving a hand shake, keep eye contact and smile.

Do not rush into giving a hand shake when you are holding things in the hand you are using to shake the other person's hand. This will only portray how clumsy you are.

Do not give a hand shake when your hands are sweaty, wipe the sweat off.

Remember how you give a hand shake will give the a lasting effect of what kind of person you are.

Children's Rights

A child is defined as anyone below the age of eighteen years. Children just like any other human being have rights and they need to be respected. Every child has a right to basic needs like education, health care, food and shelter where they feel safe. Children are entitled to love and affection and proper guidance and they are entitled to protection from abuse and neglect.

As Parents and care givers we need to ensure the safety of children by ensuring that children can express their views freely on all issues affecting and right to development and survival and ensure they are protected against abuse and cruelty no matter their color, race, religion or ethnicity. We have the authority to make the best decisions for them that will not harm them in any way.

Remember even as parents we are merely care givers since the children primarily belong to God so lets take good care of them and it's not easy it's work that need demands patience but in the long run it's worth while

They say no one is perfect because human is to err. Someone once said a perfect woman is one who doesn’t expect a perfect husband. But what do husbands look for in a wife? What would you say is the recipe for a perfect wife

In society today, divorce has become a common norm. Many couples are just ending there marriages left right and centre. Statistics reveal that in the United states half of all American children will witness the breakup of a parent’s marriage. Of these, close to half will also see the breakup of a parent’s second marriage.” (Furstenberg, Peterson, Nord, and Zill, “Life Course”).

The covenant of marriage is meant to last forever, the acceptance of divorce has increased, it therefore leaves the question, is our society embracing the culture of divorce?

In the African culture and I believe in all other cultures, marriage has always been considered to last until death separate the two. Even though this too had its own disadvantages especially in African communities where Women had to endure abuse in the name of ‘marriage’, in today’s life divorce is the order of the day. The rate at which people are divorcing outweighs the rate at which people are getting married. Our values and moral have all gone down the drain.

We need to do something to prevent the divorce culture that is slowly eating into our society. Our children need protection and so does our future generation. Lets us have open communications in all family relationships

Before you take that step, re-think your commitment. Why are you getting married?
Don't men hurt or are they just good at covering it up? Each and every relationship has its ups and downs but i just wanted to highlight 3 of the mistakes i think women make.

1. Assumption
Women while entering a relationship don't take much time to know a bout the men they are getting involved with. After a few days of dating the women is smitten every topic with the girlfriends is about the new man and at this point only 'good' stuff is being mentioned like where he took me, what he bought me e.t.c. I really don't think one can fall in love at such a short time or rather love at first sight but this will be a topic for another day.
2. To fit in, Fame
I believe the only reason you should see a guy for a second date is because he respects you and treats you well then love can come in later. But when a woman starts dating a man because he is hot and is the latest catch or is on the list of the most eligible bachelor then you have lost focus. If it's money come on!!!! you can make your own and spend it as you wish. Men know these things and if he know you are not in it for love then of course he wont respect you and guess who will get hurt in the end..not the man.
3. Scared of being alone
Ever wonder why some women seem to get a man immediately after one relationship ends? It's not because they are strikingly gorgeous and am not trying to put anyone down. After a relationship any normal human being needs time to heal and focus on the next best thing and i don't think a man is it.

Know yourself better, love yourself more than anyone and don't take crap from anyone. Of course if you love yourself no one will ever think of treating you any less than you deserve.

I was reading about how business can benefit from thinking broadly about society and I realized it left me thinking how culture and economy affect each other and that's why i asked the above question.

My position on this is that culture influences the economy. Culture is defined as a shared system of values and beliefs, having strong values and common principles not just as an individual but as a company, a leader and especially as a group improves the communication framework which in essence improves economy around you due to the common understanding and easy decision making processes.

Lets look at countries with political imbalance and high corruption rate are trying to improve the economy with much not happening and this is due to lack of values and a culture that does not permit change hence reducing investment opportunities.

A culture that people care about motivates them to work at improving it and hence anticipate good change.

Is there a backward culture

In the modern times when people are educated and urbanized many families are still caught up between traditional and modern ways of life. Do we blame it on poverty or ignorance? Many a times there are labels such as "a backward" culture and I wonder whose culture is the measuring scale?.

There are so many cultures worldwide, why do people feel the need to change and a adopt a certain culture different from theirs, take for instance the Western culture. Are some cultures better than others?

There are some so many things that make up culture which are specific to different people, for instance religion. You cannot tell a Buddhist or a Muslim to change his ways of life just because they don't conform to your christian ways.

What I know is that the only thing that all cultures share is the existence of human life, but how each culture treats it is different. In this case I do think some cultures can only be improved to respect the quality life.

Are we victims of our culture and society

For many years payment of dowry has been a common practice in the African culture. These days it is seen as buying or purchasing a woman and I wonder why?

A woman earning more than a man is still not perceived well in most communities.

The other day i was watching television and there was a discussion on a marriage bill to be implemented in my country. The bill proposes either a polygamous or monogamous marriage depending on what the couple decide before the marriage takes place.

whatever happened to this verse:
Matt 19: 5 For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall have sex with his wife; and the two shall become one flesh; 6 Consequently, they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore, God has joined together, let no man separate.

Yeah well times change!

Even women are now opting to be in a polygamous marriage rather than have their husbands cheat with someone else. It seems women would rather play using the man's rules.

What choices are women being given in all these? Is the society favoring men or are we all victims?

Does culture define you

There is an African proverb that 'He/she who has no culture is a slave' Culture is said to be a way of life for a group of people, a cultivated behavior. I am from Kenya(a country in E.Africa)and I am very proud of our African culture. I have not had the pleasure to travel outside Africa to learn more about other cultures except what i read on the net.
In today's world things seem to be changing pretty fast and all these affect our thinking and behavior in general. What was happening 5 years ago is not happening today and this changes our way of life. So tell me does culture change with time? if yes at what point would one be deemed a slave(based on the proverb).
