iPhone 4/4S Price Cuts

2012-08-14T02:45:00.004-07:00

In the midst of awaiting arrival for the next iDevice, Apple's current phones and their previous prices are dropping depending on if you mention this while you are in an Apple Store. Retailers such as Target and Sprint are offering the iPhone 4 and 4S at a further discounted price. The iPhone 4 (pre-owned) is down to $49.99, and the 4S (brand new) at $149.99 which is almost $50 less than their normal marketed prices on contract.

This might come as a shocker to most Apple consumers because the company is notorious for sticking to a set price for the duration of a products lifetime until a newer model becomes available. The most of a discount seems to arrive on Black Friday and even then Apple manages to gather more customers with a 10% discount.

The drop in price could be very enticing to anyone with financial reservations looking to purchase an iPhone. The rumored and almost certain September 12 Apple Event where the iPhone 5 or New iPhone will likely be revealed also gives reason for the early change in price for its devices. If you're in the market for an iPhone and don't want to pay full price for one, mention this to an Apple employee and you could be walking out with money in your pockets. Do you think this drop in price is an attempt to win more customers over from Android devices or in general? Are you leaning more towards the next iPhone being the culprit behind the new prices? Comment below and give your own opinion.

RITA/ORA of Roc Nation

2012-07-14T21:27:00.004-07:00

Rita Ora, Roc Nation's newest commodity is here and ready to rock. Recently signed to Jaz-Z's label, this fish out of water is learning to swim just fine. Her videos on YouTube have racked up more than 10 million views, the singer/songwriter is currently on tour with Coldplay and is creating herself a name in today's music scene.

"How We Do (Party)" is currently accumulating millions of views and is available on iTunes. The homage to Biggie Smalls is evident on the radio version, with it's intro being that of B.I.G. on "Party and Bulls**t". "Hot Right Now", her breakout track included the help of English producer D.J. Fresh and his Dubstep musicality to bring it to number 1 on UK's music charts. There seems to be more and more talent arriving from over the pond and Rita Ora is no exception to this event.

The artist has already been compared to label mate Rihanna, most likely for her style and relation to the boss man. Rita Ora's timing with her party anthems couldn't have come during a better season, and once they start to change her music might just reflect that as well. Her album is currently in the works and has been since 2010 but don't let that keep you from tailing the chronicles of her career's journey being documented courtesy of VEVO.

JoJo is Jumping Trains

2011-12-08T21:32:00.000-08:00

As this year's music becomes last years echo, one artist who was thought to had been forgotten has returned and is making ripples in the music industry. JoJo, made famous by her first single Leave (Get Out) which was released while she was 13 has been working hard in the studio every since. She's been hard at work behind the scenes gearing up for the release of her third full length studio album titled "Jumping Trains." Her first and second albums went Platinum and Gold and she is back and edgier than ever. Many listeners are probably familiar with her rendition of Drake's Marvin's Room, Marvin's Room (Can't Do Better), a much more mature and explicit leap from the girl powered Leave (Get Out) we remember her by. From her bio off her website she describes her new album and sound. "I call my music, pop with an anger-management problem because it's a little on the edge." Her new single "Disaster" is already released and circulating the net as well as her live performances of her touring across the country. There's no doubt that she's been missing from music for a while but either way you spin it, she's back and taking no prisoners. Jumping Trains hasn't claimed a release date yet but until then, sit back and enjoy this mixtape JoJo released provided by Rap-Up.com titled "Can't Take That Away From Me"

Dr. Dre is back with "I Need A Doctor"

2011-03-07T22:06:00.000-08:00

For years now, we've known that Dr. Dre was strongly behind Eminem, his career and other artists but who was and wasn't behind the rapper Dr. Dre? In I Need A Doctor, the new single from Dre. featuring Eminem and with vocals from artist Skylar Grey, Dr. Dre is brought back from the tragic result of lost connections. From the beginning, Dre stares out into the ocean contemplating all the heartache and success of his life up until this moment. Then while cruising well above the speed limit in his Ferrari across the coastline, he hits a sharp turn, flips far above the pavement and gets himself a first class bed in a laboratory where he is then greeted by Eminem. Eminem begins rapping to the unconcious "doctor" declaring his gratitude towards him for his support, love, and career. Ironically, once Dr. Dre awakens from his coma, his rapping onslaught heard in the explicit version tells a different story of betrayal and false friendships from his lifetime (not towards Eminem). It was hard to ignore the laboratory environments similarity to 50 Cent's "In The Club" video in which Dre and Eminem were both major factors in bringing 50 back from is gunshot wounds. Recently disputes between Dr. Dre and 50 Cent have hit twitter. The story going that 50 Cents new "Sleek By 50 Cent" wireless headphones were a direct rip off of the highly famous beats by dr. dre headphone line. Only the real doctor can clue us all in to what exactly has pushed him to this point of maybe going into retirement. His lyrics clearly stating "One more CD and then I'm packing up my bags and as I leave and I guarantee they'll scream, Dre don't leave us like that man." Dr. Dre is a veteran to the hip hop industry but don't discredit him for anything he's held true to his name, I Need A Doctor has made its way to No. 6 on the billboards and he has no intentions on stoping there. Watch and comment on I Need A Doctor below.

Lady Gaga is "Born This Way"

2011-03-07T20:44:00.000-08:00

After months of wondering when we would hear new music from music E.T. Lady Gaga, her new single "Born This Way" has hit the air waves and media outlets. The overnight hit is still residing at No. 1 on the billboard charts. With given popularity and incredible album sales of over 10,000,000 since the release of "The Fame" it's no wonder why she is so popular and Born This Way seems to be exactly what fans have been expecting from Gaga. The song is an inspirational message to embrace who you are and produce even more of your own self. In the video, it opens with Gaga narrating the story of "Mother Monster" the creator of imagination, life, good and evil. After the backstory, strings bring in the start of the music and then the techno blast ensues. Later on she is seen portraying a skeletal lover with bubble gum pink hair down to her backside. Like her usual protrayals of "monsters" the idea of loving yourself is clear before and after the music video begins. When it comes to disecting the video down to what it's worth, there are the inevitable Satanic Believers and the Little Monsters who continue battling each other for supremecy over the underlying meanings of Gaga's work. Whatever you choose to believe, don't forget that this is just the first single off of her like-titled album "Born This Way" due later on this year. With her next single "Government Hooker" appearing in Thierry Mugler's Autum/Winter womenswear fashion show from this years fashion week and even walking down the runway, she is already on track to making even larger waves for 2011. To get a first hand view at Born This Way check it out below and leave your comments.

New Artist Josh Hurt Is Rolling Onto The Scene

2011-03-02T16:44:00.000-08:00

Step on the gas pedal and GO! New independent artist Josh Hurt is on a roll with his second single "Midnight Racer". From Arlington, Texas, Josh Hurt has been singing since he was at least 5 and has opened for artists such as Angie Stone, Bobby Valentino and Jazmine Sullivan to name a few. His first music video "Open The Door" has been getting tons of attention and is already at 26,789 views thanks in part to his growing fan base and word of mouth. Not to mention, his dedication and hard work. His second music video Midnight Racer is all about putting your money where your mouth is. His lyrics are telling a story of getting ready to go out for the night and finding that special girl that makes your head spin. After losing his ex, he is on to the next. Josh is clearly talented and has begun adding more and more choreography to his videos and performances. His sense of fashion seems to be different than most including his self designed outfits that are setting him apart already. His music is Urban Pop and when you hear it, you'll understand why. His very first album has a slated release for spring and with it just around the corner Es&Tee will definitely have an exclusive on it. "Lookout for tons of more new music this Spring!" updated from his facebook last weekend. For more info, music, videos and everything JoshHurt visit his website and social network pages.

Feeling good shouldn't cost a thing

2011-02-17T21:54:00.000-08:00

The singer/songwriter Jessie J from the UK is heating up the UK music charts with her No. 1 single "Price Tag." Her first US single "Like A Dude" gave the world a tough first impression, letting everyone know that she can do it just like a dude can. She is by no means a newcomer to the music industry though, having written "Party In The USA" for Miley Cyrus and songs for many other artists. Her second US single "Price Tag" features B.O.B. and has a relaxed boom box rhythm to it. Throughout the video she's seen riding a tricycle, portraying a ballerina, and a puppet while at the same time, dressed to kill. Soon enough it's made clear that no matter how much money you have or don't have, having a good time shouldn't mean burning a whole in your wallet or taking yourself too seriously. From her outlook on life through her lyrics, and her soulful voice, down to her skin tight leggings and 7-inch heels, she is definitely making a name for herself as an artist. I'm very excited to hear and see what Jessie J has to bring to America.
