A person's life will never be complete without a fall or failure. Falls or failures can have different effect on different person depending on the way he or she utilizes it. In most cases the greatest fall comes after the greatest success and the greatest success can also come after the greatest fall. There are some lessons in life that can be learnt only by experience.

A person born in a rich family may never really know what being poor means, and a healthy person may never appreciate good health or what it feels like to be sick. People who know they are going to die will appreciate life more than those who do not know how long they will live. There is always a reason for everything; lesson to be learned after every failure and success.

People may call me optimist for saying this, but whether we like it or not there is always a point of failure. This has depressed many people but it is one of the most sophisticated weapons for a person to fully grow. This weapon is like the nuclear power that depends on the way you use it. Every breathing soul on earth needs to master the art of overcoming the times of failure, grief and pain. The easiest way is to pray and put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

A failure also teaches how to control your power once you gets it. It also gives a person a good and excellent character, HUMILITY. Hard work and determination may take you to a point of success, but your character will keep you there. So, the simple answer to the question of why we fall down is to learn how to rise up. Once you rise up, you will like gold taken out of the burning furnace.

Walking with the Lord

There are times of miseries and loneliness in this life. I know what I should do and what is right but I just can't wake up from my seat and start the work. I know laziness is a sin and indeed a mania that makes people poor. Yet, I don't have the strength to start the work. I called upon the Lord to bless me yet I find no answers. I close my eyes and called my Lord, but it just seemed like I'm talking to some statue.

But I know my Lord lives because He has delivered me from many troubles. I realize the times I left Him when He blessed me with all I need. I call Him when he needs me and forgets the fact that my Lord wants me to remember him in all the things that I do. I hid my sins away from Him knowing that He sees everything. I tried ignoring the mistakes I committed just to get the next blessings from Him. There are also times I do bad things just because my Lord is a God full of love, grace and compassion. I have taken many things for granted and the Lord waits for me to realize them.

My God wants to bless me continuously yet He doesn't give me things I can't handle, be it a blessing or a temptation. He is my God, my Savior and my best friend too. He makes me understand the worthlessness of worldly riches and power and teaches me the real value of eternal wealth. He shows me a bank where I can save my wealth for eternity. I am so fortunate to grow up having the Creator of the universe as my guide.

Finally, I realize the benefit of having the true God as my Lord. It was not only about the worldly blessings, but it is the happiness that He provides in all times of troubles, difficulties and hardships. He gives me a reason for all my pain. I may fall a hundred times, walking by His side, but the best thing is HE NEVER FAILS TO PICK ME UP and teaches me not to fall again.

I wanted to live a life of wisdom in the way the Lord wants me to live. I was so glad when I realize that living a successful and wise life not so difficult as I dream it to be. It could even be learn from small creatures which are least recognized on the surface of the earth.

In  the book of proverbs, King Solomon mentioned the some little creatures  that are extremely wise. After thinking upon these creatures, I have  also learned many things and would like to share a few;

"Ants are creatures of little strength,
yet they store up their food in the summer"

Ants are small but they are always known for their unity, hard work and their storage of food for summer or the rainy season. From these little creatures, I realized that life in not always going to be full of blessings. Even as a Christians, we should not always say that the Lord will provide and waste our resources. We ought to store up the excess blessings unless we give to other less fortunate people around us. Besides, it also implies that having a saving account is necessary for a wise and normal human to do.

"hyraxes are creatures of little power,
yet they make their home in the crags"

Hyraxes are small creatures that lived in the cracks of rocks. These creatures may be weak yet they survive because type of home they chose. As a Christian, it may be difficult to survive all the temptations and hardships around us, but choosing the right environment or right friends can keep us away from many kinds of evil.

" locusts have no king,
yet they advance together in ranks"

In a Christian society or a Church, we are all equal in the eyes of the Lord. But that doesn't mean we should do whatever we feel like. We should follow the rules and regulations of humanity, respect one another and advance together like a well disciplined army. For this, we need to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift us up.

Rapture

As a Christian, I do believe in Rapture, the return of Jesus Christ, my savior to take His believers to the place that He has made, Heaven. Jesus foretold about the rapture and talked of many signs that will occur before the rapture. He talked about earthquakes, famines, wars, rumors of wars, false preachers and prophets. Besides the words of Jesus, it was also revealed to John the apostle in Revelations.

Many Christians do worry about the rapture and some even give up their daily duties and abandon their future plans because of the rapture and the signs that come true in our daily life. many people forgot that those signs were just the beginning and Jesus will take His own time. Jesus is waiting and expanding the grace period so that some or at least one more may be saved. We ought to do our daily work and plan for our future accordingly. Meanwhile, we also need to tell about the Gospel to as many people as we can.

Jesus has paid for the sins of the whole world; all we need to do is to believe in HIM. It is a free ticket for eternal life in heaven. If we love our brothers and sisters, we should at least spread the good news even though we can't make them believe. God has given our own free will to believe, for those who know it, it is our responsibility to tell, and for those who have heard it, it depends on them to do what they want. For all have sinned and deserve to die or to burn in hell, but those who believes in the man who have defeated death, they will also be alive with him in heaven.

For those who believe in Jesus, we don't have to worry about how or when the world will end. We just need to be ready and keep follow Jesus as the faithful servant. To be ready means to do what is right, to love one another and to love God with all our heart and soul. It doesn't mean that we should stop thinking about our daily life and needs, we should rather work harder and help others in need, so that we can store our wealth in heaven, where we belong. And last of all, we should always remember that our life belongs to the Lord who has bought us with his own blood and flesh.

Prayer for Japan

Dear God, Thank you for the love you have shown to us with the uncountable blessings we receive every day. Thank you for the Earth you have given us to live in. Thank you for the fresh air around us. Lord, I thank you and praise you Name for the brain you have given to mankind to know more about your Majesty and Power. The way you designed mankind and the universe is amazing. Our knowledge is too small to understand and our power is too limited to control.

You can make the earth shake or firm, create or destroy. Who are we to question your judgment and power? Yet, we turn away from you when we have your blessings. We forget to love our neighbors as you have loved us. We have filled our hearts with hatred when we are to love. We are selfish even though we know it is good to share with others. We have turned away from you, yet you call us every day. You wanted us to be your friends yet we treat you as our helper.

Dear God, we feel really bad for our brothers and sisters in Japan. But we are glad because we know you are with all our brothers and sisters who have left us from this world. We are also grateful because you will show your grace and peace to those who call you from this world. We have all turned away from you, help us to come back to you. Make us realize that we are nothing without your protection. Teach us to love one another as you have loved us. Draw us close to you.

Father above, we also admit that no nation in this world is better than Japan to escape such calamities. We all deserved to be punished, but your grace is waiting for us to repent. Help other nations to see your power from what has befallen on Japan. Be with Japan and answer their prayers. Amen.
Some plan for a future of a year or two, while others plan for a decade or a couple of decades. But few plan and think of their future, a century ahead or where they will be after they die. It's not a matter of whether you believe in heaven and hell or life after death. No one can cheat their heart. The creator has installed the idea of immortality of soul in the the mind of every human and a willingness to be immortal.

As a child I was always scared whenever I think of dying. And that fear never left me even when I did what I felt was good or what people said is good. That fear did not decrease when I did bad or things that a good guy should not do. That fear always remained in me, whenever I think about death-the invincible enemy.

As I grew older to became a teenage boy. A side of me uses to be so proud, hiding all the fears I had, acting as if I fear nothing. There was still a hidden thought that made me fear death though I didn't want to tell anyone. I was brave enough to do anything that will prove my bravery, but to give my life there was always some fear.

I was not afraid of the pain to die, I was afraid of what I will become when I die, until I came to know of a man who defeated death. The man who died and rose again, the man who promise all that believe in Him that he will defeat for them too, the man who created the heavens and the earth. All I have to do was to put my trust and believe in Him. I have heard about Him many times, but I thought it was just like others that promise of a happy afterlife by giving hope. But this man speaks to me whenever I called Him sincerely because He is ALIVE, now and forever.

He saved me and gave me eternal life freely, besides he blessed me with all I needed. This is too good to be true. It is the Gospel of Christ. "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)"

Should I read the Bible?

As a boy, my mom use to force me to read the Bible. I find it no use in reading especially when I was not in a mood. She would let me memorize some important verses which she felt good and which I can't even understand. My mom was the most horrible and boring mom a boy could imagine. Sometimes, I would just look at the Bible and act like reading it and think of other things in my mind. When she asks me to pray, there were times i just close my eyes and never say a word of prayer. I use to think my mom was a fool to let me do all those stuffs that did not have any impact in my life. She made me do these stuffs as long as I was under her control.
A time came when I have to go away from my home for higher studies, where there were times my parents couldn't send money, times when I was sick and no one there to take care of me like my mom, times when I was heartbroken. And it was during these times that the Bible verses that I have memorized and read start talking to me. Eventually, I started to pray to the God, whom I thought have made my life boring and never cared about. God was always right beside me, waiting for me to turn to Him and look for Him. I was born a sinner to be punished. But now I am saved. Knowing the love of God through the Bible was the happiest moment in my life that I will never ever forget. My life is so small to pay Jesus back for what He has done for me.
Now, I realize the love of my mother and what she did for me. I also realize that the Bible is the word of God and it is the living book. As we sow a living seed and do not know what will make it sprout, we can read the Bible and the rest will be done by God, the living word of the Bible will sprout in its own time.
Those who sow will read the fruits of what they sow, but those who do not sow it will not reap it. The seed is the living word of God and you can sow it in your heart. The seed is plenty, the choice is yours.

Is it really God's voice?

It was during my 1st year in Engineering College. The ragging was feared by all freshers. We have to learn all the names of the seniors and recognize them by the view of their footwear or their voice(which we have never heard before). The third button of our own shirt was all we were allowed to see in front of our seniors. It was a horrible time for us during those days. Most of my friends were non-Christians. I use to pray to God, read the Bible and have my own personal fellowship with God. I use to be very happy feeling His presence with me. I didn't have close friends with whom I could share things at those times but I was never lonely when ever I prayed and meditated on God's words. My faith grew a lot and I thought that God will give me all I ask for.

A time came when the final ragging season started, seniors would call the juniors in the hostel and slap them for not being able to answer the question that no normal human beings could answer. It was a type of interaction though. I prayed to God that no seniors would lay their hands on me because even my parents hardly lay hands on me as I have always been obedient to them, I also believe that God will definitely deliver me like He use to deliver me in many other problems. So when I got my first slap (technical love, as they call it). I reacted, but unfortunately, i was overpowered and got worse than what I expected.

I was really disappointed with my seniors and especially with God whom I have been praying and talking to, almost every day. That night, I didn't have my dinner nor read my Bible. I lied down on my bed and prayed, "Dear Jesus, I am very disappointed today, I don't know what to ask you and I don't even have any idea of how you will make me happy tonight. I don't think anyone in this world will ever be able to comfort me. If you want to speak to me, I am hearing but I am not worshiping you nor am I asking you anything. Amen.". Then I kept quiet and continued to think on my bed with my head covered under the blanket.

Suddenly I felt a voice inside me talking to me on behalf of Jesus, and the conversation goes like this-

Inside voice (IV): Jesus also got many slaps and beatings for the sins He didn't commit, besides He didn't even commit a single mistake.

Me: But that was done to save the world and He suffered for the sins of the world, I got beaten for nor cause or reason.

IV: What about the prophets and missionaries that were tortured and murdered?

Me: That was for the Kingdom of God, they were spreading the word of God, and they are going to be rewarded.

IV: Then why do you think you are getting beaten?

Me: Because I came to this college and I am an engineering student.

IV: What makes you think that God can't use your talent or the knowledge you gain here for His kingdom?

Me: (surprised) Okay I got it. You mean, if all the knowledge I gained and the things I learned is used for God (for helping people) that means I was also suffering for the sake of His kingdom?

IV: You got it! Do not be depressed again for these small tiny sufferings. Use whatever you gain and whatever you have for the glory of God and for helping people, and then all your sufferings will be for God. But if you use your knowledge for your own enjoyment after you succeed, you sufferings were meant for yourself alone. Suffering is a must and it is good to be successful, but you can chose for what reason you suffered. You can suffer for your own enjoyment in your later years (or if you’re lucky it can be for your children) and that is the reward itself. You can also suffer for the glory of God by helping the needy or spreading the good news of what Jesus has done for us. You will be rewarded eternally and your descendants will be blessed as well (it is a promise in the Bible). And there is no shortcut to happiness or success. The choice is yours.

After that I was so happy. I jumped up from my bed, worshiped God, read the Bible and gave thanks to Jesus. Then I wrote my diary entry.
I am not boasting of what I have experienced, I just wanted to share hoping that it may be a blessing for at least one person.
<![endif]--> Some people works for money, while others work for fame. And I wonder what is really worth working for. What is the main purpose of a person? What should be fulfilled in this short life on earth? Some people compare life like a play on stage, some call it as a journey towards eternity. Some believe in heaven and hell while some thinks that there is no life after death, while others believe in rebirth. Some believe in God while some believe in evolution.
However, if you stay quietly, listening to the instinct that God has embedded in the mind of every human being. There is no doubt everyone feels that there is a creator, a difference between good or bad, and a supreme power that controls the universe. If a normal adult cannot admit to these facts, he is not fooling anyone but himself alone. You may bring tons of theories and witnesses to prove that there is no God or life after death, you may bring thousands of supporters to your view, but deep in your heart and conscience you will still feel that you are deceiving your own self. You are just trying to comfort yourself with the thing that you know is a lie. I remember people saying to their sick love ones that they are going to be alright even though they knew their love one is going to die.
At times, the truth is just so bitter, that lies are easily digested. There are things that cannot be concluded only based on statistics. Some truth that will never be altered. In certain time of history, the earth was considered flat, and those giving the theory of the round of spherical shape were murdered and tortured, but the truth still emerges.
Today's Christianity may have been polluted by many politicians and rulers, leading to different belief, but the core truth that Jesus is the son of God, a savior to the world will always be true. And He will return to earth as He said even if only 0.0001 percent believes in Him. The best thing that has ever happen in my life is having Jesus Christ.

Honesty with patience

Sometimes, it seems so meaningless when the righteous fails and the unrighteous prospers. It may easily discourage some people from being righteous. But the Psalmist says
"Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away"
Many people may say honesty is not the best policy anymore, but I feel it is still the best as it was and will always be the best policy. What the Lord hates is the sacrifice of the wicked, the sacrifice from the money earned by dishonest means, a sacrifice of thief. They may prosper in the society and even hold high status for a while, but they will soon wither like grasses and plants. For those who are being honest and righteous, do not do it for the blessings that will follow it, rather do it for the glory of God. It may lead to temporary failure but you will never fail forever. The righteous may fall many times but the Lord will pick them up again.

Test can come in different ways but always be righteous, fear the Lord and depart from evil, the Lord is always on time. " He is 4 days late but still on time" The Lord said He will bless the righteous so it is best to trust Him and wait for Him patiently. As Abraham waited for the Lord and failed, this led to the enslavement of his descendants in Egypt for 400 years. The Lord will always keep his word, so never let your mind believe the false and temporary happiness and richness that the devil can give.

The Lord answers with a NO or a WAIT only to make us stronger or when He plans a better thing than what we ask for. Let’s be patient, righteous and always fear the Lord. This far He has brought us, he won't abandon us in the desert. Remember the Red Sea, Manna and the water that came out from the rock.
But what I found out was rather unexpected. The Lord showed me that my prayers were so selfish, I realize my selfishness. I thought praying to God for forgiveness, giving thanks and praying for myself to be a good person was a good deed. It is not bad but realize I was indeed one of the most selfish person. I didn't show the character of a good Christian.
If I was the child with the five bread and two fishes that Jesus blessed to feed the multitude, I don't think I will ever give that bread to Jesus. I'd rather give thanks to God for the bread and fishes I had and eat them quietly. I think this is what most Christians now a days would do. Yes, the other guys were lazy, they didn't bring anything to eat, they ought to starved. If a child could bring for his food, why can't they do the same?
But if we want to be a blessing for many people, we can't be selfish, thinking only for ourselves. We need to be like the child who would trust Jesus in everything he had.
and he will reward them for what they have done." Proverbs 19:17

What will be better investment than lending to the Lord who have everything in heaven and earth? Buying stocks with your money and investing in different firms may give you profits sometimes, but many times it will only lead to greed and loss. Lending to a friend in need is still better because we know that they will pay us back with whatever they have, even if they couldn't pay us back we are still satisfied because they are our friend, after all. But nothing can beat lending to the Lord our God. He will always pay us back, and this is done by being kind to the poor.
The Lord is always judges with justice, kindness and love. Being kind to the poor with all that we have in excess besides our needs will always be repayed. If the punishes the wrongs during the life in this world, how much more will He reward the righteous? Having the right view on how to use the blessings of God will make us a good steward of His richness.
If a normal human, a sinner filled with greed repays what you lend to him with interests, how much more will the Lord repay with interest. But the Lord repays those who gives Him willingly ands takes away from those who misuse His blessings, after all, everything belongs to the Lord.

Kingdom of God and His Righteousness

Jesus said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all things shall be added onto you”. This word is the key to get everything, but the meaning is so complicated. What does everything in this verse means? Does it mean all worldly riches or is it just eternal riches to be awarded after life in the land of eternity? We may know that a computer can be use to do many work faster and better, but if we don’t know how to use a computer, it will not help in our work. I have been studying this passage for a long time. I think I have understood some fraction of this sentence by the grace of God who speaks to me through the Bible.

Seek the kingdom: The first step in seeking the kingdom of God, we must try to know what the kingdom of God is. Jesus spoke of many parables telling us about the kingdom of God. In the kingdom of God, the last can become the first and vice versa. It is always about serving others rather than to be served. Jesus himself showed us the greatest example through his life. About all the blessings, the best of all that no money can buy is the happiness, peace, joy and love that we get after seeking the kingdom of God. As a human with blood and flesh, it might be really difficult to be like our Lord, but we can at least seek what His Kingdom is which and try to be like one who is in His real kingdom. This will be a countless blessing even in this earth.

His Righteousness: By reading the book of proverbs, we come across many things a righteous man does. In everymen’s heart, there is a power to know what is good and evil. This was caused by the sin in the Garden of Eden. So, in short, His righteousness means, we should follow the good will of the heart even when no breathing human being will know about the bad things we do for our personal gain. We must fear the Lord and feel his presence everywhere and every time.

All the things shall be added unto you: Here all the things means all the things, whatever we need and even whatever we want as long as it is for the glory of God and we do not stray away from His will. For a born again Christians, it doesn’t mean that we are totally free from all sins and worldly desires. We are the children of God and God will take care of us like His own children. God doesn’t give us things that will make us forget him or make us think that we are capable of living without Him. He always wants us to be close to Him and learn to trust Him, because we are to be with Him for eternity. And the promise is that He will always be with us through everything. The righteous may fall but God will always pick them up whereas the wicked may rise for a while, but at the end they will always wither like a fallen grass.

Example based on true story: There was a man who had two sons; both his sons were living away from him for their studies. One son earned the trust of his father by doing his work seriously and using the money his father sent in a proper way that help him in his studies. While the other son lost the trust of his father by spending his share of money on drinking and some drugs. So whenever they ask for more money even in case of some problems, the father will gladly give to the good son while he started to give lesser amount to the other son so that the son would not have any surplus for unnecessary drugs and drinks. In the same way, God our father is willing to give everything to His children as long as we use it for the right purpose. So to seek His kingdom and His righteousness is to seek His commands and stick to them.

Eli Eli lama sabachthani

Loneliness can be felt even among a multitude. I remember being shifted to a new school many times in my education career. Being a new boy in the school was not always a nice experience. Some students teasing, some not even bothering to talk, some so anxious to talk and many different and weird new activities around. The sound, the amusement and the quietness all adds to the loneliness of a new student in school. It is horrible even when no one bother us.
Then comes the college life. A new comer in the college, with many new unknown faces all around, surrounded by a bunch of notorious seniors trying to give ragging. The loneliness being multiplied by the torture of the wild seniors makes the life terribly horrible.
Besides, another terrible thing is being lonely when we see our friends all around yet no one dare to talk us. All acting like a stranger to us; the friends that have hanged out and partied with us, the friends whom we have helped many times and the friends who have helped us many times, the friends with whom many promises have been made.
Jesus, faced all the possible loneliness and betrayal from his own friends, all together the week of passion. No one was there to share his pain and agony because our sins were to heavy for a normal human to bear. This was not all, he was further left by his own father, God-the father. This pain and agony made him cry out, "Eli Eli lama sabachthani" meaning "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Many people misinterpret this words saying that Jesus was not the true son of God. But the thing is that Jesus was too ugly with the whole humanity sin he was carrying. He was getting the experience of Hell for us, so that we will be safe from our eternal punishment. Jesus was so lonely despite the multitude that surround Him and His disciple and mother around.
God will never spare us with our sins just as He led His only son died on the cross. We will die for eternity in hell. But as Jesus defeated death and rose again on the third day, we will also defeat death by trusting Jesus. I am ever grateful to Jesus for what He has done for me. So, I am sharing it here. Ever since I have accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and savior, there has not been a single day He has left me. He forgives my sins, gives me peace, and continues to guide me in all my ways. Even when i stray away from him and fall down, all i do is call Him, He is always right besides me. Friends, if you want true happiness, Jesus is always there when you called Him and surrender yourself to Him.

A reason to live

Science tells us that living things whether small or big, irrespective of their nature, have their own purpose and reason. If God has created even the small minute particles with a purpose, it is without question that everyone has his/her own purpose in life. In fact, it is a personal relationship with God to know why He created us. However, as we all know that human wants are unlimited. Money, fame and power will never satisfy the ever greedy minds of man. After enjoying all possible worldly pleasure, king Solomon admits in his book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes book that the soul purpose of man is to fear the Lord and obey His commandments. And Jesus says that the greatest commandments are to love the Lord your God with all heart, mind and soul; and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
I have been thinking of what I should be doing since my childhood, but now I have realized that
what ever I do, and how much ever I may have earned, if I do not love my neighbors or the people around me. Or say, if I do not help the people whoever I can help, then a time will always come in my life when I say I had no pleasure in what I have done.
There have been a few times when I have help people with what I can do(though not much), It is always a great feeling to see their happy faces. Nothing is too small in doing a good thing. Besides when I see great people being greeted by the people they have helped, it is much more enviable than a millionaire who is just stared upon, because of the wealth he possesses.
When a man truly loves a woman, he automatically love all the things that the woman loves including her family and even her pets, he wouldn't do anything that will hurt the things that the woman loves because he loves the woman and doesn't want to hurt her feelings. In the same way, if we love God we ought to love his creatures and human in particular. God love the world so much that he gave his only begotten son, so if we love God we ought to do good for the world and the well being of the world. After all, what is money without happiness? What is a man who has the whole world but loses his life?

Blessing in disguise

When Apostle Paul was in prison, sometimes he wishes to get out of the prison thinking that he could be more useful rather than just write letters to the churches in different places. The churches might also pray for his release at those times, however the Lord said "NO" to their prayers and Paul was in prison writing letters. But now his letters have constituted the major part of the New Testaments and millions of people are blessed everyday reading his letters.
In this world there are times when we try things really hard; to achieve things that we desire; with prayers and discipline. Yet we don't get the things we get for. It is not that the Lord did not answer our prayer, HE indeed answered but with a 'NO'. There are many great things that the Lord has planned for us, beyond our vision and beyond our mind can imagine. Sometimes the Lord bless us with failures because HE does not want us to be proud. He wanted us to know that He have done things for us. Even Moses the great prophet himself was not free from this pride which the Lord hates. He made a great mistake that cost him not to enter the promise land because he thought that he could hit the water out of the rock; he forgot the Lord. The Lord always wants his children to remember him.
"Blessed is the man who is disciplined by the Lord". We should always be happy when the Lord says NO to our prayers. I remember my mother telling me that sometimes the hard working year turns out to be the year of famine. It is always good to know that the Lord wants us to learn something even from failures after hard work. For those who have not failed, always remember that God is the one behind your success.

Aloof mind

Amidst the brouhaha and the crouds that surround me, my mind lay aloof and untouch.
No mataphor clearly describes the consequences of the aloof mind. Experience does. Yet, all breathing souls do experience it at some point of their life. I have also heard Jackie Chan saying in one of his movies that his friend was his brother from another mother/parents. Can some one really love a friend(s) more than their blood related brothers or at least as much as their own brothers?
There is a written verse in the book of proverbs that there is a friend closer than a brother. And a neighbor is better than a brother living far away. So, my point is where do we find these type of friends on whom we can really depend on? In the song 'A friend like You', the writer found a friend who is not just someone funny or cool, a friend who he can really depend on. Can this type of friend be a brother from different parents?
Some people may meet this type of friends in schools and colleges where they don't have any family. I too have met some friends much closer than a brother, friends that can help me when my brother is not available, a friend that can hear me when my brother can't hear me. I called them my brothers from different parents.
There are no boundaries in making friends, no religion can separate friends, no caste or race can separate friends. It is often said that friendship is a gift from God and it is a ship that never sinks.

Heart Breakers

Hard for hard and soft for soft. Hard materials require hard materials to break them and soft materials require soft materials to break them. As the heart is soft, it is broken by soft persons or materials. The soft persons that can go deep into the heart of a person are the real heart breakers. However for those hard or harsh persons that don’t reach the heart can seldom break a heart but are good in making the heart stronger.

The qualities of an expert heart breaker are to speak soft and loving, sweet to the ears and beautiful to the eyes. They are easy to accept, easy to follow but difficult to leave. To the ears their words are like the truths of nature that cannot change but as time passes by, their words meant exactly the opposite of the oxford dictionary.

Heart breakers are found everywhere in this world from the remotest society to the most civilized and modernized societies. It is the profession that is hated and feared, but nature has given this so that most of the people in this world will experience how a broken heart feels.

In many cases the heart breaker themselves break others heart at the cost of their own heart. However, some are so professional that nothing happens to their heart even after breaking dozens of innocent hearts. Yet after a throughout research it is most widely believed that these heart breakers are more or less a heartless person that have had their hearts broken many times.

So, it can be concluded that heart broken hearts become heart breakers and create more and more heart breakers. It is a private disease that has spread worldwide; it has killed many people by using secondary materials like poison, ropes, bridges, cliffs and guns. And if ask who makes the profit out of these broken hearts, the answer will obviously be the bartenders and the alcoholic drinks company.
Some broken hearts never mend, but some do mends and become a good and destructive heart breaker.
hotel, the luxurious hotel where high profile travelers spent their times away from their homes. What was he doing here? “Relaxing” was the answer from the people. “Teaching” was his answer. I was envious of him, teaching and relaxing at the same time. Where is his home? “In the country side” was the answer of the people. “This is my home” was his answer. Something struck my head. “Why don’t people see him the way he saw himself?” So curiosity made me to study this guy. It took me to his home and all his work places. Made me a loiterer with the reason only I knew.
His home was indeed in the country side as I saw with my eyes. ‘Antonym’ would be the best word to describe the two words that describe his lifestyle and the lifestyle of his family back home. I was shocked to see him teach strangers for money while his sons and daughters need to be taught. He loved his home by telling them to work hard and giving a lot of advices he has learnt verbally. But his family remained the same old fashioned despite his perennial instructions. He seems far too smart to go back to them and teach them practically. To take them to his place, their expenditure would become higher than the income; every educated man like him knows what consequences would follow. The family on their part would never leave their place. Their inherited village was a mother to them in which lies their identity and culture. I made a conclusion that time would never change them.
As I laid my head on my soft feather pillow, I started thinking of the man that took my mind for more than a week. I wonder why many educated men from the countryside leave our hometown/village, never to settle back, in search of a better fortune while our friends and people back at home are still far away from development. Do we really love our people? Can we judge people by looking only at the person? Don’t we look like a hypocrite trying to hide our real image? They are like a man that goes out to the jungle in search of food and find it, but never returns to his family to deliver it but finishes the food all alone.
No wonder that there are many villages in this world which had produced a hundreds of genuine scholars that serve in the cities. “There is no job in villages/towns fit for scholars”. May be the reason most of them have in mind. But jobs are created by men. Are the scholars from the countryside incapable developing the underdeveloped? Most of us are looking for an almost complete house for ourselves instead of rebuilding our own broken house where our family will always remain. Furthermore, laying new foundations would be far from our thoughts.

Why Can't You?

“If he can, why can’t u?”
This saying is what many children heard from their parents when they are weaker than their friends.
Many people have witness an apple falling in front of them or on their head, but the apple that fell on Isaac Newton’s head made him to discover the “Laws of Gravitation”. James Watt manufactured the Steam Engine by seeing boiling water in a kettle, which is also seen by many persons. Some few men are thinking of travelling to the moon while some don’t even think of going out of their town. Some are looking at the latest model cars while others don’t know what they will eat the next day. Some men are manufacturing vehicles while some don’t know how to ride. Some boys are confused in choosing which will be the best girl while some are struggling to get one. Some slum dwellers are holding the Oscar while many of their friends are still in the same slum. Some singers sing on stages while some sings only in the bathroom.
Well, we may think that this is due to the difference in background and facilities. It may be true to some extent. But students of the same class, attending the same lectures, eating the same hostel food and same facilities still have different marks in their exam. Some students are struggling for their pass marks while some struggle for the top position. Furthermore, two identical twins that are brought up in the same family, getting the same education from the same institution with the same facilities still have different abilities and talent. Why is someone always better than the other one? Or how can you be the better one in this world where the fittest survives?
As a school student, you have spent all our schooldays under the guidance of the teachers, wardens and parents. Besides, your high-school life has passed while preparing for the professional entrance exams in which a very less percentage are chosen. Even if you are among the lucky selected ones in the stream you prepared. Your life won’t change because there is still a higher level of competition elsewhere. Your college life will pass in the same old boring way again; studying hard at the eve of exams just craving for marks or the so called pointers; attending the coaching classes more than the college lectures. Else, get a placement in some company and become their slave. Why do you have to follow the same old tradition as a different person? Only few will achieve something by creating or changing the history.
We have spent 30% of our lives, supposing that we are to live until our old age. Few people of our age have represented the country in sports and science exhibitions; few have made world records by beating the world history; few invent things that are useful to the world; few write books that are read nationwide and worldwide. While many will do the same work that many others have done without any recognition. Yet why does everyone have a unique dream of achieving something different? Will we be able to fulfill our own great dreams? Henry David Thoreau said, “If you have built your castle in the air, your works need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” This is true because a castle without foundations will be blown away like chaffs. But do we have enough talents to lay your own foundations?
So, who are this few people who can do it while others can’t? How can we be among this few guys? Or do we consider ourselves to be among the many losers who think they are born without any special talent? Let us not be too pessimist to think that God made us inferior than others. Erica Jong said, “Everyone has a talent, but there are FEW who are courageous enough to follow it to the dark places where it leads”. What do you say?
