If you are in need of some authentic Italian dishes during your stay in Padang Padang one of the more popular Surf spot in the Bali peninsula, this is
the place to go. The food is always fresh, including the pasta. They put their heart and
soul into making the best Italian food available in the area with the best presentation
possible. The atmosphere of the restaurant is homey and laid back. It is the perfect spot
to hang out and relax for a while as you soak in the sights and sounds of the natural
surroundings.

They have a multitude of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options here. Many of these
options are vegetarian friendly as well. Their menu includes fresh pizzas and calzones,
salads, and of course plates of pasta. We tried their salame pizza. I love how the dough was the
perfect consistency and it was very light and fluffy.

I love cheese, so I also tried the
gnocchi 4 formaggi. It was so creamy and delicious, I couldn’t get enough of it! If
you happen to go there for breakfast, try their “boss breakfast”. It will fill you up!
The restaurant itself is very inviting with a good amount of seating options. When we got
our food, it looked so vibrant and delicious.

I would recommend trying one of their juices
or smoothies because they also taste very refreshing. I wish this restaurant was
available where I’m at because I truly miss it. Their chefs know how to cook their food
just right. It hits the spot without the meal feeling heavy on the stomach. I would highly
recommend the Rolling Fork! You won’t regret coming. Our tip? You must not leave without trying legendary spaghetti aglio olio.

The Hidden Beaches of Bali

Sun and tan with a cocktail in hand—a time-tested image
of Bali as the name pops up. Although the island caters to all types of
travelers more often it attracts the tropics-at-heart as they seek the sun,
the white sands, and, of course, the waves.

The lush beaches of Kuta and Seminyak have probably been
touted ad infinitum, but for the
wanderlusts who constantly seek fresh and less-populated spots, the island
still has a few secret gems in store. Though increasingly busier these past few
years, the beaches of Berawa, Batu Bolong, and Echo in Canggu is still worth the visit for the majestic sunset, as
well as for hipster-sighting and surfers riding the waves. The beaches here
(including in Kuta and Seminyak) are indeed a surfer’s heaven thus not suitable
for the casual swimmers due to its strong undercurrent.

To swim, head
more to the south to Uluwatu region where white sands and turquoise water
awaits! The cliff-based Bingin is
one of the people’s beloved “secret” beaches as you must descend innumerable steps to
touch the sand. But your effort will be greatly rewarded with the sight that makes
you want to jump straight to the water, surfboard or not. Afterward, take a
rest and sip a healthy smoothie, cool coconut water or an ice-cold Bintang at
the many cliff-side cafes. There are also various homestays available in case
you’re not up to climbing the steps and decides to spend the night instead.

Another secluded spot in Uluwatu is Gunung Payung beach: descend the more-or-less 300 steps and you’ll
find the beach nestled between two cliffs— a perfect escapade from the more
touristic sites. In fact, if you’re lucky, you can settle inside a wide
open-fronted cave under the cliff—accessible when the tide is low—and just
enjoy the sound of the waves.

Nyang Nyang beach is an isolated & the undeveloped beach of fine white sand, popular for surfing and wedding venue; accessible via a stairway.

And the thing about Bali is that the beaches are not
exclusively sequestered in the south—head east or north for even quieter
surroundings. Keramas beach is a
gorgeous black sand beach on the east coast in the Gianyar regency where the
annual World Surf League Competition is often held in. Otherwise, go for the
laid-back vibe or visit the only available beach club and resort in the
vicinity, Komune Bali. If you got your diving or snorkeling equipment in hand,
head further east to Amed in
Karangasem regency, a beach more renowned for its beautiful underwater scene,
or to Tulamben where many divers go
to take a snap of the sunken USAT Liberty ship.

Next up: Menjangan
Island—or deer island as the name derives from the native deer who is still
living on the island. It’s located off the coast of Buleleng and it’s a
snorkeler’s paradise as well with exceptional coral reefs and rainbow of fishes
as you take a dip. It’ll take about an hour to get to the island by boat from
Pemuteran beach and currently there are no homestays or hotels for you to stay
in so it’s better to take a full-day excursion and rest around Buleleng.

Gajah Tour provides you an
amazing opportunity to explore Bali. It is the biggest tourist destination in
Indonesia. Since mid-80s Bali has seen a rise in tourism. Bali is a small
island, known for its art including sculptures and paintings, traditional dance
and music. The culture of Bali is strongly influenced by the Chinese and the
Hindu culture. The Island of Bali is spread across 2230 miles, including
various mountain ranges almost 6600 feet high. These mountains include some
active volcanoes, most common is Mount Batur.

Bali is home to both the white
sand beaches and the black sand beaches. The whole island is surrounded by
coral reefs, which enhances the beauty of the island. The climate of Bali is
ideal for tourism all year long, with an average temperature of 30o C. The rainy season is from December to March, fewer tourists are seen in monsoon
season.

Surfing in Bali, Indonesia is unlike surfing any place in
the world. The moment you arrive to this special island you can feel a unique
energy. The Balinese culture is unlike any in the entire world and that also
goes for their kindness and smiles. As you prepare to paddle out to some of the
best surf in the world, you can’t help but to take in the body warming
environment of limestone cliffs, lush palm, cheeky monkeys, and smells of
Balinese offerings to the gods. Once you and your board enter the water and
begin your push towards the lineup you can’t help but to accept you are in
special waters. You marvel at the live reef below you filled with bright
colored coral, schools of tropical fish, and crystal clear water. Your body is
as happy as can be with water temperatures that couldn’t be anymore
comfortable.

The next phase of your immersion is positioning yourself
into the lineup. You realize there are more people from different parts of the
world and different colors of skin than you have ever been around. Surf banter
from different groups of friends excite you as the stoke is high with everyone
getting some of the best waves of their life. It’s impossible to not have a
smile on your face. And then here comes the best part…surfing!

One can only try and write the words that describe the
addicting love we connect with surfing a wave. Photographers and Videographers
have worked for decades capturing these actions and feelings. But now, the
aerial perspective has become widely accessible with the new technology and the
media is mind blowing. To be able to fly above someone surfing and present it
in high definition video is nothing less than spectacular.

Bali drone expert David Biner with Indo Eye is taking this
idea to a new level. Recently filming some incredible surf at Serangan in Bali,
he has put together a teaser video from his Bali drone company Indo Eye that
has the world seeing Indonesian surfing from a new perspective. Camera angles
showing multiple surfers on one wave, top-down aerial view, and dynamic follow
panning from behind to the front of the surfer while these surfers do what
fills their heart. It’s an exciting new generational push to show the world in
a fresh way and Indo Eye strives to lead the movement in Bali. For more aerial
and surf photography, check out Indo Eye through their Facebook, Instagram, or
website http://theindoeye.com.

The atmosphere in Seminyak is much more laid back and sophisticated than Kuta. Located north of Legian, Seminyak is an upmarket beach town filled with fashionable high-end restaurants and bars. There’re also many luxury villas that dot the coast and fill the town. Although Seminyak is a suburb of Kuta, it is fondly known as Kuta's trendy neighbor.

Seminyak is popular with Bali's expatriate community, most of whom reside there. Thus, land and accommodation prices are amongst the highest. The reason Seminyak resort is well liked by expats is that it provides the perfect balance of seclusion - the beach is quieter in the day and it's not exactly a backpacker's playground, and exhibition - Ku De Ta is the place to be if you want to be seen.

Getting Around

The small streets of Seminyak can get pretty congested and there are only two main routes into town. The best way to get around Seminyak is to rent a motorcycle or bicycle or to go on foot. It can get a tad confusing because a number of roads have alternate names. For instance, Jalan Arjuna (Jalan is road in Bahasa) is also known as Jalan Double 6 or Jalan 66.

Where to Stay

If you're planning a trip to Seminyak, chances are you are willing to blow some cash. A fine selection of hotels awaits you. One such hotel is The Elysian. It is one of Bali's first luxury hotels and it resembles a traditional Bali village. Seminyak villas are popular amongst tourists as they are a short distance away from the action. Resorts worth considering include Aman Resorts and Bulgari Resort Bali.

What to See

Located on the west coast of the southern region of Bali, Seminyak beach is relatively quiet during the day. Regular beach activities like surfing, sunbathing and swimming can all be done here but Seminyak beach is famous for two things - high-end beachfront establishments such as Ku De Ta and its sunsets.

This beachfront location features modern architecture and interior design. Practically everyone in Bali's expatriate community shows up for sunset and cocktails at Ku De Ta. It goes without saying that Ku De Ta is the place to see and to be seen.

Tourists rarely visit Petitenget because it's fairly secluded. However, it's worth visiting the beach for its continuous expanse of grey sand. You will also find a pretty Balinese temple off Petitenget. Pura Petitenget was built by Bali's most important priest, Nirartha and has been around since the 16th century. Although it is not one of the key nine directional temples of Bali, it is known for its spectacular beachside ceremonies and is one of the important sea temples in Bali.

Berawa beach is five kilometers from Seminyak. Many go to Berawa to meditate and do yoga. Here, you will witness the daily life of typical fishermen who catch their fish from traditional boats.

1.Seminyak Beach

2.Ku De Ta

3.Petitenget Beach

4.Berawa Beach

What to Do

Seminyak is the high-end spa capital of Bali SPA. Your spa experience will be one of great luxury and sophistication. Needless to say, you get what you pay for but prices are still at least 50% cheaper than you would pay in a western country. Most high-end hotels come with an in-house spa service, otherwise, you can check out Amo Beauty and Spa, Amoaras Spa and Glo.

Once you're completely relaxed and refreshed, it's time to hit the shops. Seminyak is the center for hip and inventive fashion boutiques and second most preferred place for art lovers in Bali. Seminyak is home to a number of unique art galleries showcasing contemporary and classic styles of painting, drawing and photography, to name a few. If fashion is more your thing, head down to Jalan Laksmana, which has a legion of small boutique and designer stores.

Last but certainly not least, take a trip to Tanah Lot. This sea temple is one of the most famous temples in Bali and it is also one of the busiest. It is set on a remarkable location - on a rocky islet only accessible during low tide.

Choosing a Boutique Villa in Seminyak - Bali

Seminyak is a tiny beach town in South Bali. It is the most popular Australian tourist attraction in the region. The town is very well known as a high-end tourist spot. There, you can expect to find luxurious spas, hotels, and villas. When it comes to accommodation, you are really spoilt for choice. Here are some quick tips on how to choose the right villa.

Location of the villa.

The location of the villa should be your number one concern. Think about what you are going to do when you arrive. Do you enjoy shopping? Or do you enjoy water sports? Knowing your goals will help you make better decisions about your accommodation. You may then choose a location that is convenient for what you want to do there. Check out the facilities and activities that surround the villa. Is there anything that excites you? Some popular activities include horse riding, golf, and tennis. Of course, most villas are conveniently located near the beach.

Restaurants and food.

Being a luxury holiday accommodation, you can expect to be served gourmet breakfast every morning in your villa. But you may wish to spice up your stay by dining at some of the posh restaurants in the area. Some people are especially picky about what they eat. Fortunately, there is no lack of fine dining restaurants in Seminyak.

Level of service.

When we are on vacation, we always want the experience to be enjoyable. An enjoyable experience gives you pleasant and unforgettable memories. That is one of the main reasons why many tourists choose to stay in villas for their annual holidays. The level of service is simply impeccable. For sure, you don't want your holidays to be spoiled just because you are served by a few rude employees. All staff working in or near the villas are properly trained to ensure that you have the most enjoyable trip.

Relaxation facilities.

Plan your trip carefully so that you can spend your time wisely when you are staying in the villa. You don't want to wake up not knowing what to do. Time just flies when you are on vacation, so treasure it! For instance, you may wish to go for some sports activities early in the morning, right before breakfast is served.

After your exercise, you can sit down and enjoy a sumptuous meal, and then relax for the rest of the day. Have your sore muscles massaged by highly trained masseurs? If you don't enjoy full body massages, you can always go for a foot reflexology session. You will most certainly enjoy having your tired feet muscles massaged with sweet smelling fragrant oils.

Usually, spas and massage sessions are fully booked during the weekends. So be sure to pick up the phone and make a reservation so that nothing spoils your day while you are at the villa. The friendly staff should be happy to confirm a reservation for you.

After heading on a Bali holiday, many Australians make the decision to go and live in Bali, Indonesia as an expat. There could be a variety of different reasons for this. Some may want a spiritual journey, others may just want to relax in this fantastic part of the world. On this page, we are going to talk a little bit about how an Australian expat may live in Bali.

One of the most commonly asked questions about living in Bali is how much it is going to cost. The truth is, there is no real answer that can be given here. It will be cheaper than Australia, that is for sure. In fact, you could rent an apartment residence in Bali for as little as $50 a month. Of course, many of the people that head to Bali as an expat are doing so in order to recreate their relaxing Bali holiday (maybe a holiday where they enjoyed a touch of yoga?). This means that you may wish to stay in a slightly more luxurious private villa. Have no fear! You can do that here too. These can cost as little as $300 a month. Not bad, right?

When it comes to food in Bali, or Indonesia as a whole, for that matter, it is cheap. Even the best quality food comes in surprisingly cheap. You can eat a quality meal for less than a dollar. There are some places where you can pick up some imported Australian food, but if you are going to move to a whole new country, then you may as well make the most of it!

One of the wonderful things about Bali is the fact that there are already a lot of expats here, many of whom come from Australia or other English-speaking countries. The locals should be fine with English too. This means that you are not going to have too much trouble on a social level. However, you do have to put the effort in, particularly if you are moving to Australia as part of some spiritual journey. If you put the effort in, then you are going to get so much more out of living in the country. It is going to be more relaxing and you are really going to grow as a person.

It is worth noting that Australians are, currently, one of the only groups of people who have to pay for a tourist visa to enter the country. This is, in part, down to the fact that many Australians were moving to the country illegally. Thankfully, obtaining a visa to move to Bali should not be all that difficult. You will need to prove that you have the funds to live in Bali, however. This is important if you are retired. If you are planning on starting your own company in Bali or working for somebody, then things do become a little bit easier when it comes to the visa application process.

Canggu is the hot spot of Bali now days not only for the surf. No other area has ever been discussed so much. But the Canggu insiders know about the fine structure in this beautiful village, now full surfer tourist. There is Echo Beach, There is Pantai Lima and there is a place, where all the modern history of Canggu started in a mix of surfer spot and luxury apartments in Bali. There is Berawa.

Berawa name comes from the Beach. Berawa beach gave the name to the road Jalan Pantai Berawa. It is the noble and sophisticated part of Canggu. Popular for many expats, surfers, students, and travelers from all around the world. Great for families, little streets with a lot of villas, local markets, restaurants, beach clubs, and cafes. The place for real coffee lovers and the place for us, expats, to live and have a bit of our culture in Bali. One of the places which will definitely make any foreign loving Berawa is Coffee 'n' Oven Authentic Bakery in Bali. If bread is the thing you will ever be missing in Bali, this bakery is your temple.

Authentic baking fresh every day served with an original coffee blend. Your breakfast has never been better in Bali. We all know those little places in Europe, Australia or America. You come to pick up your oven fresh croissant or loaf of bread, place to sit and have a morning coffee and such a wide choice on breakfast. Whether you surf in Berawa or came for holiday to Bali, this place will keep you in paradise and bring you home for a little while and restore yourself after a surfing session. No doubts about the quality. We do not like compromises.

This is the face of Berawa. For many of us far away from our homes very personal. For most tourists visiting Bali the place to be. Make sure, when you come to the Island of Gods, to have Berawa on
your list. Not far away from Seminyak, but still authentic. Finally, you don't want to miss the best of Bali.

The island of Bali is one of the most incredible surf spots in the world and has been known for years. Lately, the numbers of surfers in Bali has increased big time and also many Balinese go International for surfing competition around the world. Not only that it has been so many times Bali also make the International Surfing Competition, but many surfers from overseas also come and join the surfing competition.

Facilities for beginners, intermediate, advanced and professional surfers on Bali has been improved, surf shops and schools in Seminyak, Legian, Sanur, Nusa Dua, and other spot surf will sell just about everything that you need for surfing. Not only for that, Bali has provided so many good surf school for a short lesson. There are surfboards and boogie boards for rent in every spot for surfing. For a beginner, you don’t have to worry about starting for surfing, Bali has provided everything for the beginner until professional surfer.

A reasonable place to stay for the surfer is important also, in Kuta you can find a reasonable price for the surfer and also for someplace they provided for surf camp or you just rent a boat and enjoy the surfing trip them. It's pretty easy to arrange your surfing trips, which is you can booked when you arrived in Bali or you can book true the surf school website before you fly down to Bali. If you don't like surf you may stay in Ubud Resort, not waves but great place for yoga and relaxing.

Bali has several beaches that considered a famous surf spot in Indonesia. One of the beaches is called Uluwatu. Uluwatu is just incredible beach for surfers, attracting surfers from all around the world and beware Uluwatu is for experienced surfers only. The access is quite complicated and there is a very small beach among rocks and cliffs. There is a bar on the top where you have amazing views. There is accommodation just there so this is the place if you go to Bali just for surfing.

Actually, Indonesia has some spot for surfing, maybe if you have plenty of time for surfing you should go to G-land (East Java); Mentawai and Nias (Sumatra Island) and Sumbawa (Flores). If you want to get the best out of your next surfing trip outside Bali, may I advise you to go on with organized surf tour? There are surfing charters and tour from Bali to all spot surf destination.

Our earth is filled with some brilliant natural landscapes and has so much to offer that a person can keep on collecting memories like forever. From coastal beaches to beautiful mountains and from plains to rainforests, we are blessed with various types of natural sceneries. But there are certain places which are a different world in itself as these would simply take you away from the routine life to something which is truly mesmerising.

The feeling of being at such exotic place would be rather difficult to express in words. We are talking about the beautiful and naturally gifted Sumba islands which lie in eastern Indonesia. Located in East Nusa Tenggara province, Sumba are surf paradise for the visitors and would offer you a much need break from the daily routine from my Bali resort.
It is quite different from the rest of the Indonesian islands as low limestone hills make up the landscape of these and the major port of Waingapu is the biggest town on the island with fantasctic property landscape..

For the conservation of endangered species the national parks, the Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park and Manupeu Tanah Daru National Park have been designated.Sumba islands are particularly known for its rich birdlife and there are certain birds which you can spot only on these islands. As for the seasons, from the month of May to the month of December, Sumba islands experience dry season and from December to April is the period of rainy season.
One of the most distinguishing aspects of these islands is its flora and fauna and it has plants and animals belonging to Asian as well as Australian origin.

The four regencies which comprise of the island along with the very tiny islands are Sumba Barat, Sumba Barat Daya, Sumba Tengah and Sumba Timur. If you want to visit something unique in Indonesia, then Sumba islands is the answer for this.
Another attraction of Sumba are the megaliths which are in good condition and you could spot stone megaliths could be easily spotted on these islands. You could visit this islands and for its culture. The beach here is simply awesome and you would surely have a wonderful experience over here.

Culturally this place is known for ikat textiles and what is found over here is highly detailed ikat which is woven by hand.
If you are curious to know the places that are worth visiting in Sumba islands, then you must visit the beach called as Puru Kambera which lies at twenty-six kilometres from Waingapu which is the capital city. Then there is this place called Tarimbay Bay which from Waingapu lies at a hundred and twenty kilometres. This place brings a great piece of news for surfers as it is regarded as paradise, the ucrowded waves of Sumba for surf lover as from the period from June to September there are waves which are about two to three metres tall. How can we not mention the exotic Sumba resort which is another big attraction of these islands and it is worth mentioning that it is regarded as one of the five best eco-hotels of the world?

Bali's coastline provides an ideal place for
surfing. varying conditions, reef and
beach breaks create great waves for both veteran surfers and beginners. The
southwest of the island with its arid and rugged area, is composed of limestone
cliffs that provide some of the best views in the world, well known surfing
breaks among the surfers and paradise beaches such as Balangan, Dreamland,
Bingin, Padang-Padang, Uluwatu and Green Ball. It is a magic long coastline of
white sand dotted with beautiful sandstone cliffs overlooking the ocean at high
tide.

Balangan beach is located on the western side
of the Bukit, just one km north of Dreamland, turn left on the main crossroad
with jalan Uluwatu. Balangan is basically a left hand suitable for intermediate
surfers but also for beginners. The waves get perfect when the wind direction
is south-east and with mid tide, it is not a crowded spot. If you walk to the
right side of the beach you will find the Pura Balangan, the local temple.

Uluwatu, as all the western side spot, works
during the dry season, from April to October. There are 4 different surf spot:
Temples, a long wave that works on the mid to hight tide. The Peak, just in
front of the warungs. Racetrack, a super fast wave. Outside Corner wich won’t
even break if the swell is not in the 8 range. Uluwatu can get very crowded
especially during July and August. It has the same name of the famous temple,
it is a spot only for good and serious surfers and it is at the top of the
surfer’s destination list.

Padang- Padang only works when there is a big
swell. It’s a particular wave, surfers come from all over the world to ride it,
and it is not for evryone. It’s name Padang-Padang refers to the balinese
pipline. It has the best waves of Bali and it i salso the most dangerous spot
of the island. In Padang-Padang you can meet some of the best surfers of the
world, especially in August during the Rip Curl competion wich select the
professional surfers that will participate at the contest.

Bingin is the next reef after Balangan beach.
The spot works better doing the dry season, from April to October with a swell
direction from south and size 3-5 ft. There is only one small take off area and
it gets really crowded during July and August, you will have to fight to get a
good wave. It’s a fast wave with barrels, this is probably why it has become
more popular among surfers, it is not a long wave but it’s pleasent and easy.

Dreamland , unlike the other spots, is a beach
break, it has right and left hand waves perfect for beginners and not crowded,
it is not too shallow and has decent shape.

Green Ball works well with a swell direction
from south, with mid tide and 4-6 ft. It is a little hard to reach as you have
to follow a stair case of around 500 steps but once you bet there the waves are
amazing. Just be carreful with the strong corrent there, it could take away
your board.

In this tropical paradise you will have the
chance to surf with professional surfers, admire their skills and even take a
couple of tips for observation or for a meeting in one of the beach bars and
restaurants at the end of the day.

Water sports in Bali are very challenging in energy and have so much fun. Either way water sports are very dangerous and have a big risk too. For doing water sport in Bali you have to really ready prepare and have the basic skill for reducing any risk. Proper equipment and step by step before you start water sport is important. For proper equipment, I may advice to wear standard equipment as your instructor in Bali suggest to you. One of the most popular water sport in Bali is Surfing the waves. Many peoples all around the world come to Bali resort just to enjoy the good waves. White sand and sunset in Bali beaches just compliment for all surfers.

Surfing in Bali may look easy but don’t get it wrong it is pretty hard for the beginner, that’s why many surfing schools are open in Bali to help the beginner learn how to surf. Surfing on the broken beach or on the reef will take a lot of energy because you will fight with the big swell or current so you must paddle very hard for a long time. In most sports, before you start into it the best thing to do is to fill up your stomach and bit of stretching. Same way when you will start surfing you have to drink something before you jump to the water and eat later after your surf session.

If you are beginner surfer maybe you wonder what surfers eat before they jump to the ocean? Actually is a really simple snack and of course, you can find this food easy. You may surprise if I say banana, but yes! that is true. A friend of mine told me that banana (remember when we were going to school?) is good for a bit to eat before you go surfing because banana is a good source of carbohydrates and protein. Full set menu for lunch is better you eat after surfing because it is good to recharge your energy and also isotonic drink is good for you.

There are no rules what you have to eat for a surfer, you just have to know what is best for your body to keep it your stamina well during your surfing. It won't be funny you pass out in the ocean, never! Better you pay attention more and eat something before you go to the ocean for surfing. There are many surfers running around in Kuta, Seminyak, Uluwatu or others spot for surfing you may ask to dude what they usually eating before the go-to surfing.
After all day you surfing in the ocean you will be really tired and need to relax then enjoy the sunset. This is the most common surfers does after surfing is a glass of cold beer in the hand with a sunset view on the white sand beach. How cool is that? So, surf safety and enjoy the waves in Bali.

Surf Bali Surf School
