"Seize the day, my friend," blurts the stunning deep-sea diving instructor Laila (Kaif), on a long walk with an uptight financial broker Arjun (Roshan). Arjun hasn't lived much, nor have his friends -- the apparently spineless Kabir (Deol) and jovial, closet poet Imran (Farhan). The adage pretty much sums up ZNMD.

It's a long, boring advertisement for Spain Tourism, warned a colleague whose "sources" had these precious words about ZNMD. I can safely say, it's a little more than that.

How do they land in Spain? Well, the boys had made a certain pact that each would suggest an adventure sport and the other two would have to follow. Screenplay writers Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar (also director) bring to the table a very beautifully captured Spain, by cinematographer Carlos Catalan. No no, that's not all. Along with Spain, they bring relationships of their protagonists with themselves and each other. Undercurrents unleashed by emotional turmoil, friendship, and finally the unloading of mental baggage, so as to emerge victorious in the truest sense.

For all this, the storywriters use heavy doses of symbolism. Deep-sea diving at Costa Brava, sky-diving in Sevilla and the San Fermin bull run in Pamplona, not to forget the Tomatina festival in Bunyol, where Arjun finally lets go. Fears are drowned, let open in the sky and finally at the mercy of raging bulls.

Performances are honest and telling across the board, yet Farhan stands out (Warning: Some bias may be at play here). Roshan, Deol and Farhan stick to their briefs by Zoya, often contained, and true to their characters, and never over-the-top. They let the characters' intrinsic qualities do the talking. Similarly with Koechlin, whose prim and proper Natasha is, admittedly, not much like her real life persona. They're all easy-going, playing their parts and enjoying while in the act. Kaif's "tumhari zindagi badalnewali hai" made me cringe, but overall her effort to make Laila believable cannot be undermined. You wish you could have a life like hers, jetting off to a part of the world for three months of daredevilry and loads of fun.

Witty dialogue (credited to Farhan himself), playful chitchat and the camaraderie between the friends personify ZNMD. However, the lack of chemistry among them in the first hour cannot be ignored. ZNMD has so many silent moments, it's likely to put you to sleep. The editing tools could have been sharper to give this coming-of-age romantic drama a facelift. Restlessness is the unwelcome guest on this road, much like Kabir's fiancée Natasha.

Sounds uncannily similar to Farhan's directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai, right? Now if you take DCH as the benchmark, it's up to you how slow/polished/boring/unnecessary/pretty you find ZNMD.

Your heart is likely to be set upon the beats of ZNMD, from the free-spirited Ik Junnon to the mellow Khwabon Ke Parindey, not to forget the unforgettable Senorita. And Farhan's poetry infused in the narrative needs special mention. True Akhtar blood must say!

The writers exploit luxury and frankly, ZNMD set anywhere else could be as true to character. They didn't really have to go to Spain.

For those (which, I assume, is a lot of us), who may not be able to afford a holiday in Spain for any time soon, go catch ZNMD for good performances, music, Spain and of course, Farhan Akhtar in his element.

Rakesh Roshan ambitious sequel to ‘Krrish’ will be shot in Hyderabad. A set will be recreated depicting Mumbai at Ramoji Film City. This was decided so that the logistical problems of shooting in the streets of Mumbai are resolved.

The set, designed to resemble a business hub in Mumbai will be completed by late September. “The script required Hrithik Roshan to perform some death defying stunts on the streets of Mumbai. However the star didn’t want to shoot in crowded locations as he was wary of crowds hounding him during the shoot,” said a source.

Pyaasa dil mera…" That's a popular Kunal Ganjawala song, most would know, from the commercial success Murder (2004). This is its supposed sequel. So the villain has the same track for his cellphone ring-tone, he sings it too, ending the stanza with, "Kitna mazaa aaya. Tere tukde karoon chaar (How much fun it'd be, if I chop you into four pieces)."

Besides, Murder (based on Adrian Lyne's Unfaithful) was an aesthetically lit, coherently structured, semi-erotic flick about a bored, married Bangkok mom, in an adulterous affair with her ex (Emraan Hashmi). Sure enough, there was a murder in it.

There are more than a few in this loud picture, about a deranged, scary-looking serial killer who derives mysterious pleasures from hacking up prostitutes in haunted Goa, while a former cop (Emraan Hashmi) tries to hunt him down.

Purr. Dad (to quote from my favourite radio comic skit, Actor Calling Actor), "Iska merre problem se kyaa connection hai?" What does this second part have to do with the first part of this movie? Nothing. Whatsoever. If this is sequel, then effectively every picture with the same hero (Hashmi) and producer (Mahesh-Mukesh Bhatt) is second part of their last film together. You see? Delhi Belly was Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Part II.

Finding suitable connections to this movie itself seem easier still. Bhatts have apparently dubbed it closer to their Taxi Driver brainwave Sadak (1991). Eh? Okay. It's set around brothels all right. And there's a eunuch in here, like Sadashiv Amrapurkar, from the Sanjay Dutt starrer. That it's also inspired by the shocking Nathari killings? Nay.

The psychotic anti-hero here (Prashant Narayanan) is pretty much rehashed from the one in the Bhatts' Silence of the Lambs reconstruct Sangarsh (1999). He dresses up as a woman, in red lipstick, is guided by a strange cosmic urge to kill, even shares the last name, Pandey.

A seedy private detective (Hashmi) has a night left to nail this Jack the rip-off. Or so a natty lawyer tells him. Which is strange. Kung-fu Pandey's already in the lock-up, has admitted to being a serial killer to a top cop, no less. His parents have verbally testified. So has an old victim, another prostitute. Cell number of the current prey's been traced…. Yet, there's a scary movie to carry on with, or to be imported from Seoul.

Paris Hilton might want to upgrade her home security system.

Police arrested James Rainford Monday after he was seen peeking inside the 30-year-old reality star's two-story Malibu beach house.

Witnesses watched as Rainford, 36, was handcuffed and taken away in a squad car around 4:30 p.m. "He was hanging around on the beach while Paris was inside," one beachgoer told The Daily Mail. "Someone recognized him as being the man who had given her trouble in the past and the cops arrived pretty quickly."

According to a statement released by the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, operators were alerted to a "suspicious person standing on the beach" Monday afternoon.

"The caller stated he believed the suspicious person was the man he recently saw on the news, who attacked Miss Hilton's male acquaintance."

"Deputies identified the suspect as James Rainford and determined a valid restraining order prohibiting him from being within 200 yards of Miss Hilton or her residence was in effect."

In late April, Rainford assaulted Hilton's then-boyfriend Cy Waits outside an L.A. courtroom. After pleading no contest to battery charges, Rainford was recently released from jail after serving just 24 days of his 227 day sentence.

Three months earlier, Rainford pleaded no contest in a trespassing case after he was booked on charges of trying to contact Hilton at her Hollywood Hills home; he was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to stay 200 yards away from Hilton's property.

Rainford is currently being held on $20,000 bail.

Puri Jagannadh has successfully made many films in Telugu applying the same formula. This is just another subject in the lines of Pokiri with an old man leading the show. When a 65 year old man does Pokiri what it looks like is Buddha for you.

Although the storyline is wafer thin Puri did manage to pull off few twists successfully and kept the audience engaged all the time. But the real man for this film is none other than Mr. Big B. He is the life and soul of this film. He carried off his role with élan. Amitabh fans will completely fall in love with this film and watch it again and again as they get their matinee idol doing all the nakhras from the good olden days.

First half of the film is passable without any story. Some scenes look ridiculous but the purpose behind those scenes is revealed in the second half. The real gist of the story lies in the second half and it is where the director excelled. There are some funny scenes, good one liners and also some sentiment. Amitabh, Prakash Raj conversation in the climax is fun to watch.

Puri Jagannadh has used popular dialogs and few scenes from his Telugu films. Telugu audience may not find them fresh but Bollywood audience will thoroughly enjoy those scenes and dialogs. On a whole Buddha is a paisa vasool entertainer which is mainly targeted at Big B fans and masses.

Make way for over-the-top profanity and delightfully absurdist humour. Delhi Belly is a raunchy, witty and irreverent film that is bound to please all but the most straitlaced audiences. I haven't had this much fun at the movies in a long time.

Newbie Akshat Varma’s script is hilarious and bitingly perceptive.Delhi Belly is perhaps the first Hindi film not just to understand potty humour as a pop cultural form, but to play it like a maestro pianist. You can’t help but grab your stomach and guffaw as the bumbling trio of Tashi (Khan), Arun (Das) and Nitin (Roy Kapoor) stumble through a landscape defined by stolen diamonds, botched up shootings, dumb sexism and gleeful disrespect of the commode. What works here is that these characters are very real — they bicker and blunder like idiots but not like movie characters, and they toss snappy one-liners the way you and I slough off dead skin-cells.

Bred Pitt-David O. Russell's The Mission

David O. Russell, director of the Oscar-winning The Fighter, is considering The Mission for his next project, with superstar Brad Pitt. The Warner Bros. project is based on the true story of Operation Jaque, a six-year operation attempted by American and Columbian covert ops in order to free a group of 15 hostages held by a guerilla group in the Columbian jungle. At the moment, both Russell and Pitt are both considering the project, but have not yet signed on. This is one of several projects that Russell is reportedly considering, along with Malificent and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

The film will focus on the espionage side of the process rather than the hostages’ experiences. According to Deadline, the film will emphasize the “covert effort involving numerous governments, diplomats and intelligence services and a vast network of spies, military advisers and soldiers plus high-tech surveillance measures.” The premise sounds similar Argo, the Ben Affleck thriller with a great cast that we reported on this morning, but without the interesting twist. While this seems like a more realistic take on the spy genre, the real world of spying also involves sitting in a van for twelve hours, watching someone’s front door. I’m not sure that realism is the most profitable approach for this project.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif topped the '100 Hottest Women 2011' list of an entertainment magazine, edging out fellow star Deepika Padukone, who grabbed this title last year.

The list is based on short messaging service (sms) and online voting. The Bollywood actress got a whooping 35,000 votes.

According to the online poll and the sms votes, by the Indian edition of men's magazine FHM declared that the actress's average rating was ahead of the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar.

This is the third time that she has topped the hottest woman poll. She won the same title in 2008 and subsequently in 2009.
