These girls sign up for this show called Bad Girls Club they weren't forced on the show. But I think any decent person would agree that the girls on this show have some serious emotional problems. I watched the mayhem this season and Part 1 of the reunion last night. Not one of these girls seem to have learned their lesson. They are still angry, bitter and negative. They are all about knocking the next person down to make themselves feel better. I can't understand why a show like this is so popular when its blatant exploitation of woman who are unhappy and trying to make themselves feel better. I must admit I watched myself but it was more out of shock for what I was seeing. After watching this show its hard not to get sucked into the negativity. Its not at all a feel good show. My mood was dampened. While there are some humorous moments that I laughed at I would suspect out of nervousness and shock, they really needed to brighten it up a little more. In fact as far as I am concerned I will try my best not to watch another season unless something is changed. Why can't they do something to help these women? Even if its a very small part of the end of the reunion. Have them speak to someone about their issues. The network is making plenty of money off of women who don't know any better and want love and attention. I'm I the only one who sees something wrong with that?

Rhianna's Silly Hair

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; I am all for transforming your image so as not to become boring. But her style right now just screams desperation. I will give her credit for trying though. Unfortunately her efforts have failed and she needs to go back to the drawing board. She went from looking just weird when it was still short, to Ronald McDonald when it was shoulder length and poofy and now the Little Mermaid now that it is long. Can someone please stop the madness already? Whoever is responsible for the madness needs to be stopped. She is a very attractive woman without all of the shenanigans. Do they truly feel she will sell more records if she changes her style up no matter how ridiculous it looks? Her last successful album, Good Girl Gone Bad, was a hit due to the music not the short black hair. Although I did like that look best on her. I just hope walking around with blindingly bright and loud hair for the past few months actually does something to help her career. That way it would be worth the humiliation she has suffered lately due to her stylist. And if she isn't the least bit aware of how silly she looks, then it just goes to show how fame and fortune can make some celebs lose touch with reality.

Like Magic

There are very few people in the world that get everything they want. I have found in my own life and that of those around me that great things happen suddenly without much effort - like magic. The examples I am about to share seem to prove what I have learned on my journey to find full contentment in my life. Great things happen to people with little effort when they are free of the falsehoods created by the mind.

I was afraid for my financial future after high school. I was already pregnant with my first child and felt like I had to get stabilized quickly for my new baby. I didn’t grow up with money so I wanted to make sure my child did. I got my Bachelor's degree after high school and hoped to work in Advertising or Public Relations. Although my degree did get me jobs in those fields, the money I am making is not nearly what I hoped. Meanwhile, I know people who barely made it out of high school let alone college who make more than I do. I suspect that they were happy despite being unemployed and did not feel the need to go to school. They were not fearful or negative about finding income like I was. While going to school is very important and beneficial for finding meaningful work that pays, my fear for my financial future was too big a part of my decision to study. That fear still follows me and stifles my career today.

We all know many people have a strong desire to fall in love and be in relationships. Here the opposite happened to me. I wasn’t looking for my future husband at 16 years old. Yet I found myself attracted to my husband and so I asked him out. But the last thing I wanted was a steady boyfriend. I just wanted to date around. We have been together ever since. He breathed new life into me. We have started a beautiful family together and still love each other deeply. Many people out there want what we have. And I feel like one of the luckiest women on the planet to with my husband! I didn’t realize how great he would be. I actually expected far less from him. But I was ok with that because either way I felt happy with who I was. I was far from being worried about finding love the way I worried about money. I have always had an abundant amount of love in my life. I was doted on by two loving parents, five older siblings and worshiped by one younger sister. I never felt fearful or insecure that I would find love because I always had it. I am amazed that one of the best parts of my life so far happened with little to no effort on my part. I just did what felt right at that moment never ever feeling the need to see into the future.

Finally, my inspiration for writing this post was my best friend's recent good fortune. She just found a great new apartment with an extra room that she needed. A good friend of hers had connections to the building's management company and put in a good word for her when a vacancy opened. Finding an apartment in NYC at a decent price is not the easiest thing to do. She faced paying a much higher rent then she does now had she just got just any apartment. Perhaps the thought of paying such a higher rent kept her from actively looking for a new apartment even though she did need it. Again, my friend was happy with what she had even though it was short a bedroom she needed for her daughter. I can't really say if she worried at all. But most likely somewhere inside she knew when the time came she would get that extra room she needed. And sure enough she got it with very little work on her part.

According to the Law of Attraction, being negative or fearful while wanting something is the reason why it doesn't happen. Negativity only attracts more negativity and vice-versa. Letting go of fearful thoughts and feelings is the key to getting what you want. The groundbreaking book The Power of Now does a great job in explaining how to get passed fear. It’s a matter of accepting your life situations whole-heartedly without feeling anger, fear and unhappiness. What makes this acceptance harder is allowing ones feelings to be determined by events that have already passed or have yet to happen. Past and future events are equally misleading. They exist only as images in our minds. But neither one is tangible. Fully accepting this truth is life changing but also challenging.

Most people live their lives everyday mislead by the images in their heads. I guess I have spent too much time struggling and living in a world where so many things go wrong. That is why when things do go right, as effortlessly as I have found they often do, I can’t help but feel they happened - like magic.

Diet Soda Drinkers Beware!

I was surprized the other day after reading various articles that suggested that drinking diet drinks can actually make you fatter. How ironic is that! You drink diet to avoid gaining weight, but too much can have the opposite effect. Although the information was online and easy to find, I had to actually go look for it. Of all the articles I had read lately that help people lose weight that topic never came up. That really made me want to tell other people or make it a bigger deal than it currently is. I am not sure exactly how it works but for some reason studies show that large consumptions of diet soda, in other words drinking it when your thirsty like water because it has no calories or sugar, had a direct effect on the subjects appetites. It made them hungrier and thus they ate more and gained weight. I was especially interested because I love the taste of regular non-diet soda. Turns out not only does it taste better but in the long haul its better in moderation than diet.

Election Day 2010

Today is yet another election day. So far all that meant to me was that I could come straight to work and not have to drop my daughter off at school. This year I have little to no interest in the election. Its pretty much common knowledge that Andrew Cuomo is going to win. Not a huge victory considering his competition, Carl Paladino, seemed to sabotage his candidacy with crazy antics. There is no way you can be both anti-gay and Governor of NYC.

At work things are dull and boring as ever. I had a conference call to join as soon as I got in. That killed some time. I have felt pretty happy today. I have been making an effort to change some bad habits I have had for a long time. I am trying to be enlightened. Allowing the world to work as it will and not fighting the inevitable or wasting my time on regret and worry about the future. It has made me much happier although I have my moments when I regress. But I can say I am happy with my progress. Now I am trying to find a way to change my career path by finding my passion! There is so much information out there it probably would turn most people off. I actually find that I like reading and getting as much information as possible. I know that's a clue right there of what I should be doing in life but alas I still don't get it.
So this was my first post! I have finally taken a step in starting a huge blog one day! Please feel free to post comments.
