Google Chrome web browser by default uses the system wide proxy server settings. It does not have the user configurable settings to set it's own custom proxy server. That means whenever you change the proxy server settings in Chrome, you are actually changing the proxy settings for Internet Explorer too.

To configure Google Chrome web browser a custom proxy server settings, this is what you need to do:
This Tasker project will enable your Android smartphone to automatically lock your screen when you close your leather flip cover over your Android phone. It doesn't lock immediately as it will wait for 10 seconds before it lock. This is to provide a buffer time in case you might need to use the phone again right after you have close it.

This is a Tasker profile description of how you can use Tasker to text or SMS your girlfriend randomly between a specified hour time. Not only you can send the message randomly between the hour you can also send random set of message you have defined. This is to make your girlfriend believe that you are always thinking of her and message her with wishes.

With the advancement of camera quality of smartphones, the usage of smartphone cameras have increase over the years. As with all cameras, to take nice photos or even videos you will need a tripod. With a tripod, you can take better night shots, less shaky videos or time lapses photos.

With a RM5 smartphone holder, epoxy and a few nuts, it's easy to make a mount for tripod so that you can mount your smartphone on a tripod. Below are the photos of my finished product.
The sucker of my car smartphone holder finally gave up after 3 years. Other parts of the holder are still in good condition. So instead of throwing it away, I modified it so that it can fit into a cup holder of my car.

So previously with a sucker, my Samsung Galaxy Nexus positioned at the windshield but this time I can place the holder it into one of my two cup holder located just below the air conditioning control panel.

Below are the photos of what I did with it and how it looks like after modifications.
This Tasker project will enable your Android smartphone to automatically lock your screen when you put your smartphone in your pocket or bag. It also has a time out to avoid accidental block of the proximity sensor or maybe you just put in your smartphone but you need it again immediately after that.

Tasker is a very powerful Android smartphone automation application. Although Tasker can practically do anything you want, you still have to learn how to create the automation. I know many of you out there are just plain lazy or no time to pick up the skill. Many had relied on Tasker users shared automation projects, profiles, tasks or scenes to quickly kick start your automation without hassle. I am sharing most of my Tasker automations in this blog for the benefit of the lazy Tasker people (no offence, i am one of them too).

The Tasker automations that i am sharing in this blog are just the exported xml files. Most probably i will not be writing the "step through" like some other websites did but you can download and import the xml files using Tasker. It's easy enough. You can tweak my automation to suite your need.

This post will show you how to import Tasker automation xml files into your Tasker application.

In order to share your Tasker love (projects, profiles, tasks or scenes) to all Tasker users, you will need to export Tasker's projects, profiles, tasks or scenes to xml files. Anyone out there looking for a specific automation for their Android phone could just download and import the xml files into their Tasker Android application and tweak the automation to suite their own use.

Somehow i felt that the export and import functions are not that intuitive. I did took a bit of time and Googling to find out how to export and import properly.
In Android Jelly Bean version 4.2, the "Developer Options" is missing from the settings menu. Google had hide this setting from the mass consumers. For Android developers and those who loves to tinker around with Android OS, you can do this to re-enable back the "Developer Options" in the settings menu:

Alcohol stoves are light and they are great to have for hiking trips and camping. They are cheap and easy to make yourself. There are several commercial types of alcohol stoves in the market with Trangia taking the top spot of all the alcohol stoves out there. Over the weekends i took some time to make one for myself. After a few tries and tests, i finally learned how to make a good alcohol stove. There are many types of alcohol stove constructions and the type i am making is the Open Jet type.
From this part of the world (Malaysia), a carabiner clip costs me at about RM50. I felt that it was a bit expensive for a simple accessory to invest in. By using a cheap made in China normal carabiner clip (i got it from ACE hardware at Queensbay Mall) with 2 small cable ties, i am able to make my own Garmin eTrex20 carabinar clip. Google decided to stop supporting Picasa running on Linux. They have taken down the download link for the deb install package for Ubuntu Linux OS.

I need the deb install package as a pre-requisite to install any latest version of Picasa (Windows installation file) on my Ubuntu Linux OS. If you are not sure what I meant by installing the latest version of Picasa on Ubuntu Linux, please refer to this post for the steps.

Luckily I was able to find the deb install package file in the internet and save it for my future re-installation of Picasa on my Ubuntu Linux OS.

Here is the download link:
