Well here are the results!!!

Peplum Dress: Ross-$12.99

Shoes: Ross, Steve Madden - 19.99

My Christmas Gift to My Self

2013-01-09T15:17:00.003-05:00

Happy New Years!!! Wow its 2013 , I feel so futuristic lol I didn't write down any resolution this year because honestly they never last. Plus I shouldn't change just because its a new year. I need to make major changes in my live daily.

I know I am super late with my Christmas goodies. But I just had to share some things I bought from Forever 21. I was watching a video on YouTube a guy stated that sometimes when you buy things, don't buy your normal pair of jeans on a plain dress. Buy things that make a statement and buy things you know in the back of your mind your to scared to wear because you don't want to be judged!!! So thats what I did, I found clothes That would be to scared to wear or i wouldn't normally buy. Well everyone should know that right before Christmas F21 had a big 50% of sale. I was super lucky to have stopped by and found theses wonderful statement pieces!!

I was so happy when I saw this. I didn't have anything leather and now I do!!! The sleeves are leather and the from and back of the jacket is made from some type of wool material.

When I saw this dress I thought I could never wear anything like this. But once I tried it on I was so pleased. I looked great in it. I love the neon green and royal blue combination. Its real funky but sexy at the same time.

The front has a slit. I don't have big breast so I don't have a problem with that. It comes with a neon green belt. Which I love. I can remove it when I'm ready and mitch and match belts.

The first picture is in dim lighting and the second one is with the flash on. It has a rich gold color and the material is really elastic. This has to be one of my fav's right now in my closet. I can't wait to wear it!!

Jacket: $15.49

Dress: $5:99

Skirt:$2.99

I love being a broke fashionista!!!

I'm not to sure how to wear the gold skirt, do you have any ideas?

There's nothing like some good retro black love!

How do you define love? and is there such thing as "black love"?

Solange Knowles

2012-12-23T21:39:00.000-05:00

I am in love with Solange right now!! I really don't have any words to describe the relationship we have lol it's so amazing lol But seriously I am so happy for her. Her carrier is booming. She is gorgeous, she is natural and she can sing, its like she is a ball of fabulousness, if that a word. I really need her to come out with a clothing label and stop playing. Because home girl look hot all the damn time. And her hair is always on point!

Check out Solange's Blog: My Damn Blog!!

(If you look very hard you can see the name of her album)

I am loving her new CD True right now. Its funky, retro, inspirational and just different. It has a 90's vibe that just makes you want to just get up and dance!! I just love that about her. Right now my favorite songs from her album are Losing you and Lovers in the Parking Lot! So Go and check her out and buy her CD, trust me you will love it!!

Atlantic Station: Ladies Day Out

2012-12-17T12:17:00.003-05:00

A couple of weeks ago a high school friend of mine and I decided to go out to Atlantic Station. It was a nice day, it was sunny but a little cold, but we had a blast!

We went to Victoria Secret 1st. If you ever sign upon their site, you can receive free offers in the mail. I received a free underwear and $30 off a bra.

Next was H&M!! I love this store. They had a lot of sales on dresses, bags, gloves, shoe, well everything!!

I bought a bag for her and me and a pair of gloves.

After we ate at the Cheese Cake Bistro...

DSW was next and I decided to have a lil photo shoot with my girl Natasha!!

So my look was really retro. I am falling in love with long Blazers. They make your outfit look really effortless but classy.

Blazer- Thrift Store- $7

Jeans-Forever21-$10

Shoes- TjMaxx- $20

The top is actually a dress that I bought from Ross $7

( Please ignore my retarded sleeve smh my friend didn't tell me to fix it)

So on my way home I spotted this nonsense, and all I was thinking was these people in Atlanta don't play lol. I mean I know a woman had to have done that smh She was mad!!

If you have an Instagram follow me: @cancerousluv

Yes, I know its been a long time...

2012-12-16T12:43:00.000-05:00

Hey beautiful!!!!

I hope you all are well. Also I hope you all did great on your finals!! This semester was a pain in the a**. I mean I had the worst teacher this semester. She was a total jerk. I mean there was nothing I could have done because my grades were in her hands, so I just had to stay quiet, which sucked..

My personal life was a hot mess too. I was talking to 3 guys at the same damn time... lol That was so confusing but fun at the same time. It was an eye opener. I really found out what I deserved in a relationship also I know what I want in a guy. But right now all I'm doing is just talking. no dating no relationship. Because I really don't have time or that.

I also suffered the lost of my close friend. Which really left me emotionally confused. I never lost anyone that close to me in a long time so it was very difficult. I didn't cry much, I'm not sure why... which is strange, because I am a cry baby.

I have one more semester at the college I'm attending now before I transfer to another college/university. Then I'll be free from my nagging parents!!!! I'm super excited about that.

My laptop broke so that's another reason why I wasn't able to update my blog. It's still broken, so pray that I get one for Christmas!!

I hope you all have a great weekend and a blessed week, and I will speak to you soon.

And remember to stay FABULOUS!!!

xoxo

Natural Hair Show :2012

2012-10-26T16:29:00.000-04:00

Hey HUNNNNNNIES!! It's been awhile since I showed my blogger's and blog some some love. Well my computer is broken and all my pictures are on it so I have to find a way to retrieve them. And school, smh it is really sucking the energy from me. I need some type of healthy energy drink (which there are none) that can give me the energy I need. Because I am soooooo tired.

Two weeks ago I was able to attend the Natural Hair show here in Ga. They have one in April and in October. I had a blast. The main reason I wanted to go, was to see my favorite you tuber Ms. Vaughn but I got there to late. :( .......but I still had a great time :)

So I'm wearing my jean jacket paired with my maxi black skirt from H&M.

Also my shirt is a natural hair shirt

It was $20!!

My Hair is a blow out. I used my oils and Cantu Shea moister leave in conditioner as my moisturizer.

I hope to see you here next time in April!!!

Channel Orange

2012-09-09T15:44:00.001-04:00

So my best friend got me Frank Oceans' new CD, Channel Orange, for my birthday. I was super excited!!

I love Lost, Super Rich Kid and Thinking About you.

Which Frank Ocean song is your Fav? And why?

"Where Have You Been?"

2012-09-09T15:43:00.002-04:00

Honey child... Kami is becoming super lazy!!! It's been almost a month since I posted something on here.

I have a new addiction and it's called Tumblr!! My goodness. I'm so sorry for forgetting about my fabulous bloggers on here. smh

Soooooooo.... whats new with me. Well I'm glad you asked, lol

SCHOOL!! School started 2 weeks ago and I have just been studying and chillin with my friends. I actually love this semester, so far. I've been hanging out with my class mates a lot more than usual, I'm more active in school activities and clubs and going out meeting new people. So I think this semester might end great!!!

When it comes to my hair smh. I hardly know what to do with it. On when I go to church is when I really put some time and energy into my hair styles. During the week its a puff, protective styles and something random I created.

Also....

I need some help with my acne. I wash my face night and day and I use face moisturizers but my face is still breaking out. I am really tired of it. So if you have any great skin regimens, please hook a sista up. I am really fed up with my acne.

Well that's all folks. I hope you all Have a blessed and fabulous week. :)

Forgive those who hurt you.... Ex-Solution: Part 2

2012-08-12T13:17:00.001-04:00

Hello beautiful people!! I hope you are having fun in the sun, hanging out with your family and friends and eating a lot. I know I am!!

So 2 month ago I shared with you about my ex problems... Well what ever I hoped or expected to happen didn't even happen, not even a little bit.

We were emailing back and forth (I refuse to talk to him or text him on the phone. I'm not ready for that) and I noticed he would take 3 or 5 days to reply to my message. Ummmm thats a no no boo. I'd forgive him because he would always have some pitiful excuse why he didn't message me back.

I knew (in the back of my mind) I wanted to be with him, maybe in the future. But I knew that wouldn't happen. So I talked to a therapist I knew at my church for some advice. He is an older man and he has been through a lot so I knew he would help me with this problem

I am so glad I decided to talk to him because he made things seem so clear. Because I am such a loving, nurturing, and understanding person, it was easy for me to fall for my ex again. But he made it clear to me that if my ex really wanted to mend things up with me, he would not take a WEEK to message me back.

He also told me to make a deadline for my ex as well. So I did. I emailed my ex and told him that we needed to meet up , because this email thing was not working out. Also if you really wanted to mend thing up he will find time for me and fix it. I sent that to him thinking he would respond.... but I am still waiting.

Conclusion:

I realized that I needed him to act like a total ass, so I could see he is not worth my energy, love, passion and time. But he is worth my forgiveness, mercy and prayers. We are all humans and we make mistakes, so who am I to cast the 1st stone?

At the end of the day I am at peace with this situation, but the dating world seems big and scary. I hope its ready for me and my ambitions!!

Favorite Hair Products: Part 1

2012-07-31T15:11:00.000-04:00

Since I've been natural I have accumulated a lot of hair products. I love trying out new things, but it can get annoying sometimes, having a bunch of products, that do the same thing. So I went through my collection of products and picked out a few things that I enjoy using in my hair daily!

Daily Products:

Moisturizer

The Shea Moister line was sent from heaven as a blessing for my hair!! I have a lot of hair, so all I do is section my hair into four sections and add this into each part.

The next day all I do is spray my hair with water and my hair is moisturized and soft.

Molders/Holders

I didn't like this at first, but after using it so much and learning that my hair has to be damp before adding this, I found "The Sweetest Thing" for my hair. My edges are always on point!! It does flake after a while, so I just add a little water and tie it down and I'm good to go!

This is my boo thang!! lol I love this. It's crack to my hair. My hair looks shiny, thick and moisturized, when I'm done using this. It doesn't dry out my hair at all, it actually makes it really soft!

I always had a problems with my edges. They are constantly breaking and I really think it's genetics!! But I learned to tame "my run away" edges with this product. I mix it with the olive oil gel and it stays smooth all day and night.

Side note: Please don't think when your edges are short its called "baby hairs", because its not. It's FAAARRR from it hun!

Sealants

I mix all of these oils together. I just started getting into the habit of using them. I can't use coconut oil alone, I think it dries out my hair. I use the L.O.C method when using the oils.

L- Liquid:Water.

O- Oils: You seal the liquids with the oils.

C-Creams: Then you add the cream to lock up all the moister from the previous products!

Last But not least is water. You should ALWAYS use water in your hair. Never comb your hair when is dry. You should use a lot now, especially when it's HOT!!

_______________________________________________________________

If you have any questions about these products let me know!

Also what products do you use daily?

(Please ignore the ghettoness of my pictures. It was getting dark over here, The only light I could get was from the window lol )

Happy Naturalversary !!

2012-07-16T22:29:00.002-04:00

Today makes 2 years of making my way back to the natural scene!!! I almost forgot, but I am glad I remembered.

I want to thank ALL the haters who thought going natural was lame. My some of my family members who didn't think going natural was the right thing to do. My friends for motivating me. YouTube for giving me wonderful video so I can experiment with my hair. WATER WATER WATER.... I love you water. You are my everything. Thank you for allowing my hair to be healthy. Last but not least, my wonderful genes!!! Thank you for making my hair soooo damn thick and multi - textured!! I love it!

This is the hairstyle I wore to church. I could have never done that 2 years ago.

I used:

Eco styler gel (Olive oil), Water, Shea Moister: Curling Souffle and a lot of bobby pins.

Side note: I did not CHOP my hair off. I refused to walk around looking like a stud in GA. (The gay capital of the WORLD) I transitioned, by wearing braids my entire senior year. In my opinion transitioning is easier to do.

Also...... tomorrow is my 20th birthday!!! Super excited, God has been so good to me. I am truly blessed to have seen another year!

I hope you all have a fabulous week! :)

XOXO

This is why I love fashion!

My 1st Nigerian Wedding! Part 1

2012-07-02T13:57:00.000-04:00

Last weekend I spent sometime with my best friend and her family. (This is part 1 of my Nigerien experience.) This was the first time I really experienced her culture. After church we had our lunch and I was hoping we would eat some fufu and we did!! I was so excited, I couldn't stop talking about it!!

I hadn't eaten with my hands in a while so this was fun lol The only thing I didn't like about it was the whole swallowing thing. I couldn't do it. So I chewed it. Which was hilarious to them. Well I am American, I wouldn't know any better. They are Igbo (tribe name), so they swallow. I think they said that Yoruba's chew. So I guess I'm a Yoruba (tribe name)!!

That evening we had to attend a wedding rehearsal, because one of her cousins were getting married. At the rehearsal I saw a lady fixing an head wrap on my friends sister head. Which was very interesting, because I thought they bought it that way, and to see it being mad was an eye opener.

This is my friends sister Joy!!

This girl thinks she's a model!! She looks fabulous!

My best friend Chioma!

~The Outfits~

Dress: H&M $5.00

Shoes: Ross $16.99

~At the wedding!~

The wedding was super long. There was singing, praying and a sermon. It was a beautiful wedding but I was getting hungry. It was suppose to start at 10:00 but it started at 12:00 and ended around 3:00 or 4:00.

The wedding and the people were amazing. Their outfits were on point! I have to go to the next engagement they have.

Because the day was super long, I had to make a part 1 and 2!

I will do part 2 real soon.

Stay Fabulous and embrace your culture!

Forgive those who hurt you! Ex Factor... Part 1

2012-06-05T20:05:00.004-04:00

So recently I decided with my strong independent self, to suck up my pride and speak to my ex! Which was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.

So your wondering "how did ya'll break up?"

Well we were together for almost 2 years. I fell in love with him the first time I saw him literally. Even when he was dating other people, I still had a feeling in my heart that one day we would be together and we did. It was rocky at first because a lot of people in my high school didn't want us together. We never fought in public or argued. We handled all of our problem like adults. We made sure we never went to bed angry with each other. I believed that God should be in the center of our relationship at all times. So when it came to sex he already knew he wasn't having it!!! And he was proud and pleased of my decision and never asked to have it.

After high school graduation we had a wonderful summer and then college started. Which was weird for us both. We were away from each other for an entire summer once so we knew, well I knew that it would be okay. But he was holding a lot from me and I never knew he was going through a lot at home which lead to his decision to break up with me with a text message.... yes he sure did.

I went through hell trying to understand why did someone that I loved and someone that I assumed that loved me would do something to me like that. After that everything just went down hill. I had no friends to talk to because they were in college. Also my best friend decided to stop talking to me as well. College was hard and stressful .

So last week Sunday I saw him at a graduation and I confronted him. I know I saw that punk wipe his eyes but he denied it smh. What ever I wanted to say to him I said it... But because I didn't want to bash him for all the pain he put me through, I did assure him that I still pray for him and his family daily and that I forgive him. If God forgives me daily for all the sins I do, I believe as a sinner I should do the same. Life is to short to stay angry and hold malice towards other people!!

It takes a lot of strength and courage to go through what I went through. And I know if I didn't have a relationship with God I would have never had the strength to approach my ex.

The hardest part now is that he has a girl friend but he wants to be friends with me. I can't handle that right now in my life. I am still trying to get over him but how do you get over your first love???

It's hard so it will take time and prayer and time.

QUESTION:

How do you you handle being friends with your ex? Or is it okay to be friends with your ex?

If you've ever had this situation happen to you let me know! I would love to know what you did to get through your rough time.

Take care and stay fabulous!!

Un-dried Natural Hairstyle

2012-05-21T20:42:00.001-04:00

On Friday, I did my hair late at night. Not a good idea. I did a braid out with water, oils and Taliah Waajid's Curly Curl Cream.

(I got this product at the Natural Hair show in Atlanta)

When I woke up it was damp and I didn't know what to do with it. So I got an elastic band and pulled my hair up.

(Another reason why it was damp is because the curly cream is kinda thick. So water and the curly cream needed double the time to dry.)

I love the wet results. I wish I new about this hairstyle before. because many times I woke up and my hair was wet and it looked a hot mess which made me look a hot mess smh

*What styles do you do when your hair is damp in the morning?

My Little Black Dress Journey....

2012-05-20T13:48:00.001-04:00

Good Afternoon Beautiful sunshine's!! It's a brand new week and day so lets make it a great one... don't ya think???

Last week Wednesday I went to club Opera in Midtown.... The experience was very crazy and unusual.

So the person who took me their does not know how to use her time wisely or even respect the fact that she is responsible for taking someone to an event. We were suppose to get to the club at 10:00 but we arrived at 12:30. YES WE HAD TO PAY $10. Well she did I didn't a friend paid for me!!!

So she knew we had to pay for parking but she didn't bring any parking money or gas money. I paid for her gas I didn't mind. So now we had to find free parking in the the city of Atlanta at Midnight. We parked about 10 minutes away from the club. And her ass used a gps to find the place. Where they do that at??????

So we were walking in circles. Asking random people for direction. I was drunk off of coca-cola smh lol

I wasn't scared at all. I prayed to God and He was going to protect me. The girl now, didn't want to ask folks for directions, she wanted to continue using Tom, her not so helpful gps..... just foolishness

We finally got there and my crazy ass for got my i.d. in the car. Oh no we didn't walk back, the girl who invited me to the club walked out the club and took us to the car, so I could get my i.d. smh

By the time we got to the club it was 2 something in the a.m. and the clubs in Ga closes at 3 a.m.

: /

The music sucked. People were drunk and tired. The club looked very nice and neat. Very good security!! So I felt safe.

I danced a lot but my home girl didn't dance because she didn't feel the music. I didn't either but I was still going to have a good time while I was here.

I still looked good after the club!! lol

Yes we had to walk back to the car. Which wasn't that bad. We parked next to the gay club. So they were leaving as well and one shouted at me "you look fierce!"

That made my night! lmao

Ladies always bring cash when your heading out with your friends. Your debt/credit card will not help you out all the time.

Stay Fabulous! :)

xoxo

NOTW: Spoiled

2012-05-17T19:37:00.000-04:00

Hello Beautiful.

I have a new addiction.... Nail polish. They are cheap and you can do so much with it! So recently I bought 3 new ones from CVS. They were a $1 each!! So I couldn't pass it down. Plus I didn't have the colors, so I bought them and now I am in love! lol

Spoiled: by Wet and Wild

Brown: Pumping Gas

Glitter: Pet my Peacock

Yellow: Designated Driver

The nail polish comes on very creamy. Similar to OPI! (my opinion)

(I did my nails. I just bought a pack of nails from the beauty supply store and glued those suckers on. They look great to me. Some people thought they were professionally done! lol

The brush head is not like the usual nail polish applicator brush. It's slightly angled, so it can reach the corners of your nails.

Over all: I like it. I would definitely buy more!! I mean its a $1, why wouldn't I?

Nails of the Week: NOTW

2012-05-10T14:01:00.005-04:00

Now that I am out of school I can take time and do my nails. Trying to do designs are hard. But with practice, a steady hand, and a good imagination you can create anything. So here are my results!

Sunset:
I got this design from Glamour Beauty

$1 from the Dollar Store

Sunny Side: $1 from CVS

____________________________________________________________________

Black Lines

To make the dots I used a pin and stick it to an eraser and dip the other round end in the nail polish.

If you don't have nail polish design tools make them!

Here's the link where I got the idea: DIY Dotting Tool

Milani: Glitzy Lilac and Cover Girl: Blush-in-Ivory

L.A. Colors: Top Coat $1 and Nutra Nail: Base Coat $2 from CVS

Art Decor: Black $1

CVS, Walgreens and the Dollar store has nice nail polishes for a $1. So if you don't have money for OPI (like myself) these are cheaper. Yes they have some cons but what doesn't?

Now I am of to do another design. I get bored with my nail colors real easy.
