Sit down Rebecca Black, try harder next time Nicole Westbrook, she was the girl that sang that Thanksgiving song, we have a new winner in the most terrible music video awards. Now I didn't think this would be possible but let me introduce to you Danny or D4NNY (said "D" "four" "N" "N" "Y") to your screens.

Now I know it isn't really fair because he didn't have his parents spend thousands of $$$ buying their child a professional music video and auto-tuned voice from Patrice Wilson but some people are just not destined to be performers.

Anyways I hope you all enjoy this new talent and I am sure you will see him soaring up the charts in no time!

The Big 4th Year Re-union!

As I type I am on a train to London to meet up with my house mates from 4th year who I don't think I have seen since.... well 4th year! This being the case I am looking forward to a pretty amazing weekend.

I currently have a group of young people sat in the block of seats next to me playing music through their phone and screeching along with what sounds like Bieber on speed. But I am in such a good mood I will spare you the angry post. (Note to self: next time remember headphones!)

Oh and I also finally sold my car this morning! Result!!! And the sun is peaking out from between the clouds!

Today is going to be a good day!

Common Courtesy

So tonight I was supposed to have a guy come to buy my car! Exciting stuff, sad that I have to part with it but good news it is going to a new home and I am going to have a few extra pennies in my pocket! So after striking a deal with the prospective buyer on the phone, we agreed he would come by at 7pm today to do the deal. So I made sure to get out of work a little early to get an earlier train to get home in time to sort the necessary paperwork out before his arrival. However it is now 9pm and he is yet to make an appearance!!!

I thought at first he was running late... held up in traffic... so I rang him to find out his location, as of 7:15pm he hadn't even left his house and didn't understand the reason for my call! So on the call he assures me he would be here within the hour... nothing! I have since tried ringing again and now he is just ignoring me! It is such a selfish and mindless thing to do as I have now wasted my entire evening waiting for someone who didn't even have the common decency to tell me he was running late/not coming (despite confirming he was at 3:30pm today)!

As you may be able to tell I am not in the best of moods! However should you be thinking "I could use a new car" then please see the photo below and get in contact if you are interested in buying it! Just make sure if we do strike a deal you actually turn up!!

After Andy Samberg left SNL and started appearing in a number of films and TV shows I was a little worried that The Lonely Island may be no more! But thankfully they are back with another awesome song. This time staring Adam Levine & Kendrick Lamar they target the frankly ridiculous saying that is YOLO (You Only Live Once for anyone who wasn't sure). I also thought that if you saw only the parts with Adam Levine in the video/song could easily be mistaken for a Maroon 5 song. I am not saying it is their best song ever but it is up to the usual standards and guaranteed to make you smile. Let me know below which Lonely Island song is your favourite!

A Night On The Town

So you have got yourself all dressed up for a night out on the tiles and before you know it you are in the middle of the dance floor of that exclusive London (other cities are available) club dancing to that new catchy song! You think to yourself, for the money I have paid to be here I must be having the best night ever... Right??

Well after seeing this new song from the Axis of Awesome, I think they have described the true experience of going clubbing perfectly!

Well this is what it is like 90% of the time! There is always the odd occasion that is just truly epic... And then they start playing dubstep... More "wubs" anyone??

Commuter Wars

So I have noticed recently that I seem to form rivals on my daily commute. Now these people have never done anything to insult me or anger me in any way, they just seem to be the people I notice every day on my journey to and from work! They are the people who get on my train (that's right, my train) and tend to sit in a similar place to me.

Now because they do get on my train, my brain has decided they are my enemy, my rival! If I were Ash they would be my Gary (a Pokemon reference there that if you aren't between the ages of 20-25 you probably won't understand!) So every day I find us locking eyes at the platform as the train arrives knowing only one of us can sit in THAT seat and we must get to it as quickly but discretely as possible. This is one of the main rules in this duel, you cannot let on that you care despite the fact that at that moment there is nothing more important than getting to THAT seat!!! The winner will sit there and feel smug for the rest of their day while the loser will be forced to sit somewhere else and plan a better strategy for the morning!

Well that is my take on what happens on my commute and I personally find it a much more boring experience when your rival is not there... No one likes winning by default!!!

Right so I know it has been a little while since I have posted.... OK a long while... but when I saw this my jaw just dropped! The man behind Rebecca Black has waved his magic, and slightly creepy, wand over another young american teen. I present to you Nicole Westbrook!

Patrice Wilson, the aforementioned producer/rapper, has brought in new talent that, unfortunately for young Nicole, makes Rebecca Black's Friday look like a chart topping platinum record! So sit back and "enjoy" Nicole explaining to you just how great Thanksgiving is!

The New "Rick Roll"

So I first want to apologise for my long absence, this has been down to exams and me just being lazy! However it paid off as I got a 2.1 in my degree!

Anyway moving on. I am sure you are all familiar with RickRolling, well I have found something that possibly is even more annoying! However unlike Rick Rolling, this site gives you the chance to see just how much torture you are willing to put yourself through!

I am of course talking about the Nyan Cat. Although when you first click on it you may laugh, when you reach about 30 seconds of "Nyaning" you will soon change your opinion! Something to make you smile!

So these days nearly every news story you hear is about something depressing. In this time of recessions, natural disasters and other sad news, it is good to stumble across something that makes you realise nice things do happen in the world every once in a while! This happened to me the other day when I stumbled across this story, deemed the "Greatest Marriage Proposal Ever!".

The couple involved were Matt & Ginny. Ginny was taken to the cinema and during the trailers an extra special trailer was shown, specially prepared by her boyfriend Matt. The film goes on to show Matt ask Ginny's father for her hand in marriage, before racing off the to the theatre packed with the couple's friends and family, as well as about 100 strangers, to pop the question. So sit back and watch the magic unfold, and I hope it makes you smile in this world of bad news!

FIFA 11 Pays For Your Parties!

I live in a student house with 4 other guys, so there are few evenings where a game of FIFA is not played. This being the case we all started to tire of the lack of incentive to do well. This led to us running an in-house league in our first term (which I won!). However this required a lot of effort coordinating games, recording results etc. and we are all pretty lazy, so a new idea was required for our second and third term.

Inspired by the FIFA drinking game, we decided to introduce forfeits depending on how many goals someone loses by. These forfeits are as followed (and accumulate):

Lose by 3+ goals: Congratulate your opponent and shake their hand.
Lose by 5+ goals: A lap of the house applauding and cheering for your opponent
Lose by 7+ goals: Write a letter of apology to your opponent for wasting their time, that is then displayed in a public place (i.e. the fridge)
Lose by 10+ goals: Write a letter of apology to your opponents parents, apologising to them for wasting their child's time.

However we wanted to spice things up a little more, so to each one of these forfeits a cash penalty was attached; 50p, £1, £1.50 and £2 respectively. This suddenly made every game more tense and competitive, with money being collected, ready to pay towards end of exam celebrations. We have collected roughly £40 in our house pot so far, with that amount growing by the week, by doing nothing different to what we would normally do. So if you are looking for a way to save some money, play FIFA!

PSN hacked...... Again!

So Sony have just about got back up after being dealt a hefty blow to their PlayStation Network (PSN) by hackers, after millions of user's details were recently compromised. Now as they try to clear away the debris from this attack and get the network up and running again, Sony have been pushed back down and had their face rubbed in the dirt.

There is currently a hack circulating that enables someone to change your PSN password, using only your email associated to the account and your data of birth. Both of these pieces of information were released in the original hack. Nyleveia suggests the following:

"...secure your accounts now by creating a completely new email that you will not use ANYWHERE ELSE, and switching your PSN account to use this new email."

So if you have a PS3 and use the PlayStation Network, I would suggest that you act quickly and do something about this, before this hack gets more public and you become more at risk of becoming a victim of this attack. Alternately you could just get an Xbox...

Update: Nyleveia say that Sony have patched the issue and the PSN will soon be back up and running.

Revision Soundtrack

Just a quick thought, it is important to have the right music while revising so as to keep you focused and in the zone. My personal favorite at the moment is the soundtrack to Angels & Demons.

Revision - Things to distract you from it!

So for anyone who is currently at uni, I am sure you are well into your revision! I know I am not the only one who is bored before they arrive at the library, thinking "why didn't I have an extra hour in bed?!?!" while staring blankly at lecture slides.

After an hour of this it soon gets to the point where you somehow find yourself on Youtube or playing a flash game..... So when this point arrives, here is just a couple of things you may want to do during your well earned break:

Angry Birds

So Angry Birds has finally made it's way off of smartphones and into chrome. Simply hit the image below and you will be whisked away to beat on some egg stealing pigs.

Achtung

If you have anyone on your table that has an iPad, then this game is a must get. This hybrid of Tron and Snake is a perfect time waster for 2-4 people. This game can be anything from a fun 5 mins, to a battle of strategies for hours, depending on who you are playing with! Here is a little video showing it off to give you more of an idea what the game is about.

The Chicago Code

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I have been insanely busy with uni work and deadlines etc. Nearing the end of all that now though, just the revision and exams to go!

Anyway enough of me moaning and onto another new TV show that has caught my eye. You have probably guessed by now it is to do with American crime seeing as most of the things I watch are about this! It is called The Chicago Code and is, yes you guessed it, set in Chicago. The creator is Shawn Ryan who is also know for The Unit, which I has been higher rated to me but I am yet to see. There are no huge names really to be seen in this, which I liked as it prevents the show basing itself around one main actor.

The show is sits in the drama genre, with its toes just dipping into the humour genre. You will find yourself gripped, while also letting out a little chuckle every once in a while. I have so far only seen a few episodes, but am at this point quite impressed. Hopefully it will continue to keep me interested.

The Walking Dead

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are enjoying a beautiful Easter weekend! This post has a very tenuous, slightly tongue in cheek, link to Easter. I am writing today about a new TV show called The Walking Dead..... get it.... ahh never mind!

This show is another American show that has come wandering across the pond to grace our TVs on channel 5. It follows the story line of your basic zombie plot, man wakes up, lots of dead people, doesn't know why etc. The main character, a police officer named Rick Grimes, takes it upon himself to lead a group of survivors to safety in a world now filled with zombies! The story line may have been done before, but this doesn't stop the show being enjoyable. The level of effects and make-up etc. to make the zombies very realistic is also very impressive, with plenty of blood and gore throughout.

If you enjoyed films such as 28 days later then you will probably enjoy this zombie fest! Happy Easter!

We Will, We Will, ROCK YOU!

No points for guessing what I went to see at the theatre yesterday, that's right We Will Rock You! If you haven't heard of this show it is a homage to the many brilliant songs of Queen. This show keeps you entertained with an enjoyable storyline while also making you want to stand up and sing along with the cast to Queen's greatest hits.

The story is based around music being outlawed and computer generated songs being the only music allowed in the world, a whole world of Justin Beibers and Rebecca Blacks!!! Can the remaining rebels and Queen's classics help bring true ROCK back to the world? You'll have to go and see it to find out! This show has to be up there as one of my favourite West End shows along with The Lion King. I would highly recommend that if you ever get a chance to go and see We Will Rock You I would snap it up!

The Key of AWESOME!

I have always been a fan of covers and remixes of songs and one of my favourite Youtube star for these is a group called The Key of Awesome. These guys are absolutely brilliant at parodies (my favourite kind of cover) and half the time I find myself singing the words from their parodies when the actual songs come on the radio!

They parody all the biggest hits from Bruno Mars to Black Eyed Peas, with their most recent one being J Lo's new song On The Floor. I think the guy that plays Pitbull does a more convincing job than the original Pitbull! All of their videos are worth a watch and I am sure you will find yourself laughing along! I hope you enjoy it and if you guys know of any other great acts that do good covers or parodies let me know!

The Perfect Mix

First of all let me apologise for the lack of posting over the last few days but I was away for the weekend. However you will all be happy to hear I am back now... right?!

Anyway moving on, lately I have been talking a lot about TV shows so thought today I would look at something different and dip my toe into the casual gaming world. So while revising I took a quick break and popped over to One More Level to see what today's game was and what did I spot on the list of recent games, a new tower defence game, which are nearly always good fun. I know what you are thinking, "so what, just another tower defence game...", but this is a tower defence game with an old school twist! The twist.... it is Pokemon themed!

Now playing this brought back many fond memories of the hours I spent playing Pokemon Red back in the day! The game follows the rules of a regular tower defence game i.e. bad guys come from one end trying to get to the other to steal your prize possessions, which in this case are rare candies! The only difference being that the towers are Pokemon that you catch along your way, and the levels are the sections of the Pokemon story i.e. Level One is Prof. Oak's Lab.

This game is average as a tower defence game, but is certainly an enjoyable trip done memory lane if like me you played Pokemon when you were young and can be found here if you fancy giving it a go. Enjoy!

Blue Bloods

So I spotted a trailer for this show recently and thought to myself "hmmmmm a drama about a New York Cop, that's original!" Then I got a bit more excited because it was created by Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green who were both involved in The Sopranos. I then got a little more excited when I found out Tom Selleck was in it (he is always brilliant and has a truly glorious moustache) as well as Donnie Wahlberg (one member of a very talented family...).

So I decided to give it a go and am pleased to say so far it is very enjoyable. The difference to other cop shows is it revolves around a whole family, the Reagan family, all of which are somehow tied into the NYPD, whether it be a policeman on the beat, a retired cop, a detective or even an ADA. This creates some tension when the different members of the family maybe differ in their views on a case.

I have so far only watched the pilot, which I feel is the best episode to judge a show on, but I must say I am already gripped. Hopefully it won't go down hill, and it would be a shame if it does! I have put a trailer below and I recommend you give it a go if you like gritty cop dramas or just impressive moustaches!

What are the other two shows?!

So after mentioning the other day that I thought The Mentalist was in my top 3 TV shows, I was asked as to what the other 2 would be. But before I tell you, this top 3 is in the Drama/Crime genre, I couldn't begin to pick an overall top 3!

So another great TV show in my opinion is Breaking Bad. This show is about a chemistry teacher (played by Bryan Cranston) who is told he has terminal cancer and so decides to make some extra money to leave for his family after he is gone..... by using his chemistry expertise to produce the world's highest quality, chemically accurate, crystal meth! This show, now approaching the start of its forth season, is still keeping me on the edge of my seat. With drugs, crime all that could be really said this show is missing is the rock and roll. I would highly recommend you try and watch this show, especially if you are into crime/drama shows.

But however good I might say Breaking Bad & The Mentalist are, neither of them are as good as the show that has sat at my number 1 spot since I saw the first episode way back in 2007 (yeah I know I was a little late to the party!)

The show I am talking about is the brilliance that is Dexter. This show has gone from strength to strength year after year never failing to blow me away! The show is based around Dexter Morgan (brilliantly played by Michael C. Hall) who has a dark secret. Although being a well liked forensics expert for the Miami PD, Dexter's other talent is as a night time serial killer. Using his position within the police department Dexter is able to hunt down those who he believes have escaped justice.
The role of Dexter is played stupendously by Michael C. Hall, making you think at times whether he is even having to act! The show is very well written with each season having plenty of twists and turn to keep you guessing! Will Dexter be able to live a normal life with this dark secret over his head...... well you will just have to watch and see!

So there you have it! Three of the best shows around on TV and I encourage you to do whatever it takes to make sure you watch them!!

How to make a bad song seem amazing....

Recently Jimmy Fallon promised that if $26,000 was raised, Stephen Colbert would sing "Friday" by Rebecca Black on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. And would you know it, that figure was reached in no time!

So the worst song in the world was covered by Mr Colbert to change one of the most hated songs on YouTube into a very catchy enjoyable cover! So enjoy and I hope you are all having FUN FUN FUN FUN on Mother's Day!

EDIT: NBC removed the original video so here is a replacement, only trouble is it is backwards! Still good though!

The Mentalist

This show has been going for a number of years now, since 2008, and it has definitely got to be in my top 3 favourite TV shows! I make sure to watch it every week and am yet to see an episode that I have thought was bad.

Simon Baker plays the lead character Patrick Jane, A well-known psychic who becomes a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation to help solve crimes and to find "Red John", the madman who killed his wife and daughter. Simon makes the show what it is, he is witty and very entertaining in the role. His cheeky behaviour and amusing problem solving techniques keep the viewer waiting on his every move while trying to solve the crime themselves before he does.

If you haven't seen this show I would highly recommend you do!! Also with a score of 8.2/10 on IMDb even if you don't believe me, it's worth a punt! I have put a little taster trailer below, enjoy!!

YouTube 1911

APRIL FOOLS!!!! At midnight YouTube released its April Fools Day prank upon the world sending the site back 100 years to 1911. There is currently the choice on all YouTube videos to remove the regular soundtrack of the video and replace it with some enjoyable silent movie style piano, which can make any video instantly hilarious!

YouTube also had released some viral videos of the time including "Buggy Intruder" and "Swing Flummox" ( All of which can be found on YouTubes Official Channel ). These are guaranteed to give you a laugh, just make sure you aren't Ruth Roll'd!

Google's Newest Guru

Google Talk Guru is a new automated chat bot that can be asked simple questions and will provide you with an instant answer. It is currently an experimental service form Google, but simply invite guru@googlelabs.com in Gmail chat (or any other chat client you may use for Gmail chat) and you can ask things such as the weather for an area or the score for a team and the Guru will reply with the answer.

I wouldn't say it is quite a Guru yet as you can currently only ask it the following topics: score, weather, define, translate, web. However it is a nifty little gadget and has some great possibilities for future expansion.
